While Paradise is indeed concerned about the ills that technology has wrought in the modern world, it's also a record fraught with existential ennui. A fear permeates the record that the world will never get any better; that we as humans have made our bed and now must lie in it. The combined weight of those external and internal forces lay the foundation for the album, and they give it its power. Paradise builds on 2013's Imps of Perversion LP and 2015's Penetrate 7" by venturing further outside of traditional notions of punk, and diving even deeper into outer sounds. Synthesizers, mechanized drum machines, and samplers play as critical a role on the record as the more familiar squall of Ivan Drip's buzzsaw guitar and Chris Bug's vocals. Any noise a band member could make that helped contribute to the record's atmosphere of unease was welcome; synth player Allegra Sauvage adds cello to two songs, and drummer/producer Andy Chugg plays trumpet on the title track.

The sessions for Paradise were held at the Population Control Center, and the result is the most collaborative Pop. 1280 release to date. Despite its misgivings about technology, Paradise was made possible by the confluence of humans and their machines, at times struggling for control, but ultimately working together to create this vital, vicious piece of art. If the bitter irony makes you smile, hold that pose — the camera lens is watching.

Circle Vision and New World Audio team up to co-release CVNWA001 - A new 4-track vinyl featuring RDG, Squarewave, Gaze Ill and K Man.

CVNWA001 marks the first vinyl output from iconic New World Audio in over two years, and follows the apocalyptic, nuclear sound design from Piezo and Clearlight on CV003.

The two labels claim one side each on the forthcoming vinyl, with Circle Vision introducing classic sub workouts by RDG and Gaze Ill, and Squarewave absorbing the flip through deep, melodic chants.

Roland Bocquet who created this album has been the keyboard player for the French rock band CATHARSIS from the late 1960s to 1977. "Paradia" is his first solo album and there were more to come. 'Paradia' is a mostly instrumental record with a very lightweight expression. Melodies and rhythms are quite gentle but sometimes take the one or another dramatic twist and turn. Bocquet mixes samba, flamenco, European folk and classics, chanson and dreamy space pop to achieve a music actually easy to access but with a long - lasting effect on the listener. I recall US composer and synthesizer pioneer Mort Garson whose 70s albums also had this light footed approach and caused a feeling of relief with the listener. Bocquet has a good hand in writing harmonies that feel familiar albeit fresh and exciting. One of his greatest talents. The movie playing in my head while listening to 'Paradia' is a sheer explosion of light colors. I suppose Latin music fans and lovers of rather fluffy electronics from the late 1970s will be the main target group for this album but also friends of obscure movie soundtracks from bands like GOBLIN shall lend an ear or two to 'Paradia', for there are a few tunes with a rather mysterious atmosphere. You can only sit and listen and make your mind wander through the beautiful landscapes of sound and return to your reality enriched and enlightened. Grab your copy before it's too late.

Hibernating against an already impressively tight discography, Program has been biding its time in unleashing this next release.

With some of the genre's most technically adept artists, the track-listing alone is enough to grab your attention. There is a high calibre of production standard present throughout the LP, audible from start to finish. Whether you become submerged by Freek's rolling 'Enamoured', accompanied by the pristine vocals of Pia Thaleia, or captured by the apocalyptic sounds of Slang Banger's 'Slaughter House', every taste is catered for. Program sets aside its older sister label Ram and creates a breathing space, allowing it to grow. The label is a heavyweight in its own right; this album is only reaffirms that fact.

And such a range of versatility comes with names both old and new. L 33 returns to the imprint, with clashing bass conundrum 'Manipulate'. Gerra & Stone also make an anticipated reappearance; their contribution 'Po'rdosol' is a steppy riddim constructed through a medley of beats and sliced up sample.
But relative newcomer Elliott Mac uses the LP as a pedestal for another stellar production. The budding artist flexes his capabilities across the soundscape of 'Filter City', delicately composed yet highly intricate. It's demonstrative of Program's dedication to emerging artists, sifting through cyberspace to showcase some of the best acts the underground has to offer.
So now it's time to prepare your subs and plug in your speakers - Program have made a welcome return, further solidifying their position as leading tastemakers with a quality ensured guarantee. It's once again, time to get with the Program!

Fizzy Beats are back in 2015 with yet another packed 'The Juices EP'.

Trailblazing UK label Planet Mu recently announced it would celebrate 20 years of life with µ20, a 50-track compilation of old and new unreleased tracks and remixes on CD and digital.

Now, The Vinyl Factory is proud to present an 18-track vinyl edition of µ20, spread across three 12 records.

For a label that's existed in an orbit of its own, on very independent terms, it's remarkable that Planet Mu has survived 20 years. Pushing buttons from IDM and breakcore to dubstep and grime, and lately footwork, Mike Paradinas' (µ-Zip) label has a strong history of joining the dots betweens genres by supporting idiosyncratic artists from label stalwart Venetian Snares to Kuedo, Machinedrum, Boxcutter, Vex'd, Falty DL, Luke Vibert, Ital, Jlin and Mr. Mitch to name just a few.

µ20 is a living document of that history. A colourful and adventurous ride across the roster, the compilation features contributions from the current decade as well as some of the old guard, dipping back to the late nineties and early 2000s for a range of noisier, knottier tracks.

For the B side Dynamic delivers with 'Up In My World'. A clever placed d'Angelo vocal in combination with blissed out sounds and samples make this another timeless Fokuz classic. This release is well worth checking out if you like more gentle, liquid d&b with plenty of soul and sultriness.

Attic Music announces its new vinyl series 'Almost There'. A trip starting from dark-ambient and experimental techno through new, forward-looking soundscapes. First episode is signed by Mace., young talented artist from Padova (IT), already out on Further and Eclipse, presenting us a new crepuscular slow-tempo masterpiece. On the B side a proper dark techno remix by Fabrizio Lapiana.

Coldwave / darkwave debut album by San Francisco based producer Gabriel Ramos.
While the band has gone through some lineup changes Ssleeping Desiress has essentially remained the sole recorded output of Gabriel Ramos, who has been the only constant member. The album runs the boundaries between minimal synth, coldwave, and electro with lyrical themes spanning gentrification to coping with loss.

Ssleeping Desiress has certainly become a gem in the electronic underground with the only official release so far being the great "A Voice / Sister" 7inch on FlexiWave in 2012 and a handful of other songs appearing on numerous new wave compilations. The self-titled album presented here takes the project to the next level, kicking off with an echoing caterwauling drone over repetitive drums and outbursts of synths & guitars, and slowly moving towards a more darkwave sound on the second half.

Gabriel Ramos started making solo recordings while living in Portland, Oregon around 2005. He was inspired by the DIY drive of the city, hosting live shows at his house, (which frequently would consist of friends' bands from San Francisco) and his growing fascination and voracious consumption of music: "I can trace it back to the first time Spector Protector played at my house and getting a tour cassette afterwards from one of the two members, Eric Davis. That and being freshly exposed to groups like Suicide and Arthur Russell were very inspirational to begin recording music on my own, which was something I had been doing, though fairly aimlessly up to that point. In terms of sonic influences, I try and change my process as much as I can (usually through collaboration) and vary the instrumentation. My visions of songs usually end up as a clunky homage to late 70s punk rock, a marriage of dub and krautrock repetition and cavernous space.'

This 10 minute track fails to get boring and is representative of the album as a whole. myr.`s ability to carry off strange hybrids is what makes his music unique. From the ghostly warbles of 'I Think I Hear Them Coming' to the sunnier sounds of 'Eleanor', myr.`s disregard for the norm has lead to an exceptional record that surprises at every turn.

After prequel ''Terror From The Deep'' episode, Mystic Jungle's tribe lands to Solaria planet, with a sound inspired by craters, solar wind and obscure presences who are probably responsible for the hieroglyphics found in an abandoned cavern. The Mystic Jungle saga continues...

Highly anticipated collaborative single between Butterz' Swindle and Deep Medi's own Silkie, who have fused their love of retro funk-synthesizers with penetrative basslines. A-side 'Unlimited' is a somewhat euphoric offering that highlights the pair's ability to inject a healthy dose of soul and groove into a track that is still equally capable of holding it's weight on the dancefloor. On the flip, Swindles solo effort 'Pineapple' (which featured first on Elijah & Skilliam's 'Rinse:17' collection) bolsters through with a frantic beat pattern and woozy synths, and is definitely a more psychedelic and extroverted trip into this producer's mind. Support from Annie Mac, Mistajam, Seb Chew, Ben UFO and DJ Q.

Regular Critical Recordings artist Enei is releasing his second album, 'Rituals', on the label in December. The Russian producer hooks up with a sound selection of collaborators on the 16-tracker album, including Critical boss Kasra, DRS, Foreign Concept and New York-based vocalist Frank Carter III. He shows off a defiantly more mature sound palette drawing influence from across the drum 'n' bass spectrum, from his trademark tech nasties through to the deep subliminals from an array of collaborators.

"4 friends who rather be early than l8te". Mechatok is the man. 18 years old, relatively new in the game - he is delivering on a level we didn't even know was existing before we got to check out his stuff. Moving effordlessly between contemporary pop aesthetics, video game soundtrack and dubstep influences he produces music that could work as a score to the NASA end-of-the-year resume commercial - but also gets your local dancefloor into new spheres. This of course is only one interpretation - it could also be Normal Musik in some better place, we suggest you go there and stay as long as you can.

Summer of 2014 at Reconstrvct, Brooklyn NY - Ishan Sound was pummeling the capacity crowd with hi-powered steppers, cut after cut on beautiful acetate. Suddenly a huge sonic space opened up with a tune that was like a blast of cool air through the suffocatingly hot room... ZamZam's E3 was instantly captivated by the track, and knew we had to have it... but first we had to find out what it was!

The tune that had the crowd heaving and rocking in delight was Peaman's 'War' - a legendary dubplate by a mysterious producer, controlled by only a few including Ishan, Kahn and Bristol's DJ Dad. Massively warm sub-bass, uncompromisingly sparse one drop riddim, sublime horns and pads, and masterful control of reverbs define this understated killer. Powerful in its restraint and minimalism, War touches all the right marks in the frequency spectrum, making it an unforgettable hit with every sound system it's flexed on.

Khaliphonic 04 offers up the original tune alongside three versions on 12' vinyl. 'Horns of War,' an extended saxophone version excursion featuring James Morton soloing on the horn offers up pure, sparkling dubwise jazz like none we've ever heard. Two remixes by Bristol producer Rhumius on the B side bring War into steppers territory with a more insistent kick drum and oh-so-sweet fuller horn melodics.

Peaman shares the story of Horns of War's first play this summer in Bristol, and Babylon's reaction:

"Every year since we've been building our soundsystem, me and my sound system crew, 'Heathen' have managed to run at St Pauls Carnival and 2015 was no exception despite the event's official cancellation. We got a last-minute spot with a half stack, playing in the courtyard at legendary Bristol Soundman Froggy's Birthday party on Argyle Road. We put the boxes outside and ran cable all the way down through the garden and into the basement of the house, so far away we could not hear the rig. It was a mid sized event and most of our crowd were old school Bristol Roots scene so we were all buzzing and we ran the sound louuuud!

A couple of hours in, I pulled out my newly mixed version, 'Horns of War', and played it out for the first time. I quickly made my way up through the garden and out into the courtyard. We had drawn a nice crowd and when the bass rolled in, everyone started to step heavy, the stack was pushing War like I'd never heard it and I was feeling sweet! We got about half way through the tune when five of Babylon's finest strolled into the courtyard, requesting a wheel up with no second play. The nerve. After some failed mass negotiation, the police threatened to take the sound and we had to pack down. In spite of the party being cut short, the day had been a success: we turned up, tuned up and my version was the last thing the police heard before leaving!"

BIOGRAPHY: In alphabetical order, Terepa is no less than: Rashad Becker, Charlotte Collin, Lucrecia Dalt, Laurel Halo, Julia Holter, Kohei Matsunaga, and Grégoire Simon. Following a method conceived by Kohei Matsunaga (aka NHK'Koyxen) years ago out of a desire to collaborate with people living distantly, the seven artists recorded two sessions in disparate locations across Los Angeles, Berlin, Osaka, and Paris, the only creative parameter being that they all begin recording simultaneously for a twenty-minute period and that they use no means of communication or monitoring outside of their own telepathic capacities. The recordings were later gathered, layered, and mixed, resulting in two lucid, essentially chance-based compositions that Other People is thrilled to present pressed to two sides of white vinyl. The septet repeated the process for a drawing session, the result of which is printed directly onto the surface of record. Side-one begins with murky piano, soft-plucked strings, delicate, high-pitched drone, and the sound of distant brass, all working in remarkable counterpoint. The whole slow-cooks and smears over fifteen-minutes, with recognizable timbres melting away and pooling into a milieu of pitched face-relations. Side-two is lighter, aerated by faint voice, subby purr, dull chimes, and bulbous trombone accents. While one artist's signature may simmer to the top for a moment, the gravitas lays in how all seven voices fold together, warping into a swampy, mist-brushed ecosystem that, value of parts given, is more than the sum.

Luke Sanger's career continues to remain underground and consistent, playing and adapting various genres and aliases and always leaving his fan base guessing what's next. Duke Slammer, Dry and Slobbie and The Sad Confessor are some of the aliases the producer has previously released under, and he can include legends such as Lee Scratch Perry as a collaborator on his previous Luke's Anger release. Never one to stick with one genre, the talented producer effortlessly moves through Techno, Breaks, Hardcore and Acid House with the same devastating effect. Making his Sneaker Social Club debut, the label are proud to release four premium cuts of authentic Hardcore / Jungle, carefully built with one intention; to destroy raves like it was '92 all over again.
The EP opens with 'Lyn Track', full of vocal and synth stabs and propelled by 21st century jungle breaks and Reece bass - this could be a jungle classic. 5 minutes 20 seconds of pure dance floor energy.
'Filas and Undercuts', the EP's title track, continues in the spirit of Zomby's seminal 'Where Were You In 92' by looking back on fondness with one of the most original era's in the UK's dance music history. Euphoric pads and staccato melodies take care of the tracks harmonic elements, whilst more vocal cuts and slamming drums send punters looking for their tape packs.

'World Warrior' takes the EP down a darker route. Evoking the spirit of the 90's through Street Fighter samples, breakbeat drums and a classic dreamy, post-rave breakdown to make Lee Gamble feel like he's missed a trick.

The EP finishes with 'Polite Violence'. Featuring a Dread spoken word sample, rising bleeps and one of the most immaculately produced snare drums you're likely to hear on any record, ever. The introduction of more classic Reece bass probably has Ray Keith somewhere all teary-eyed reminiscing about the 'good ol' days' of Jungle.

Shipping To The USA from March 3rd* Two of the freshest, most future-facing names in grime - Novelist and Mumdance - will release a new EP on XL Recordings.
The pair have already created one of 2014's biggest grime moments with their acclaimed 'Take Time' collaboration (from Mumdance's recent EP on Rinse), and the '1 Sec' EP is set to build on that track's huge success.

Novelist and Mumdance are two artists at the very top of their game. Mumdance - widely regarded as one of the UK's most consistently innovative producers - has recently released a string of incredible grime productions that have twisted and stretched the genre into new directions for labels such as Tectonic, Rinse, Keysound and No Hats No Hoods. Meanwhile, Lewisham's own 17 year old Novelist has been hailed as grimes' next big thing. Equally adept in the role of producer or MC, Novelist rides effortlessly over an array of styles and patterns whether it's in his solo work or with Lewisham crew The Square. He was today also shortlisted for the BBC's Sound Of 2015.

Unshaken in his vision, Keith Tenniswood is an artist who's emotive electronic music, and ethos has seen him lorded as an innovator and machine funk specialist. As long term collaborator to Andrew Weatherall in their now defunct Two Lone Swordsmen guise, and with his continual sonic experiments as Radioactive Man he mans a landscape of music without rules or boundaries.
Opening the his debut release on Reinhardt, lead track White Light Monochrome channels a mechanical rhythm, with a tip of the hat to electronic music founders Kraftwerk. Intensively building to the 3 minute plus mark, before haunting keys lead the way, descending into a cybernetic electro workout.
Future driver Space Ranger takes to the audio freeway, mainlined for Detroit. Imprinted with Tenniswood' unmistakable style, finely honed snares layer up around distorted low end frequencies, coursing in a hypnotic expedition towards the outer districts.
Channeling the tendencies of Bauhaus and Joy Division, the warping Transponder documents the ever prevalent post-punk influence within the output of Radioactive Man.
In close pursuit EP closer Mechanical Music Menace levels the floor. Beaming into the stratosphere, live bass pulsates through the system as man and machine fuse, xylophone keys take front and centre taking us beyond the stars.
Digital bonus track Hideout evokes a sound with one foot in the past, and an eye on the future. A trademark continually present through the music of this uncompromising and inventive producer.

Raze de Soare bears all the signifiers of Future Nuggets' trademark "maneletronics" - taking cues from the bustling but traditional Romanian lutreasc - the Oriental motifs, the nostalgia and longing, mixed with 20th century electronics, a sort of psychedelic 70ties or 80ties chilled sound, starting off with dope bass and squeaky synth sounds. Moonstones is a three-piece dj collective and a production duo who, from youth, are strongly connected musically. Risen from the ashes of high school metal bands, they digitalize their sound and delivered it to clubs, festivals, parties, and turntables. For nearly two years, Moonstones hosted a local rave called 'Klub Dub', which gave them a chance to take the music they love to the big system. Beat-making-wise, there really isn't much to it: Moonstones are some guys who just like to build raw space music beats. Their studio (which is no more than a laptop and some monitors) is located in a farmhouse in the far east of the Netherlands. Here, Moonstones cook up jams and shoot them into orbit.

Malbleus is a 29­year­old producer, from Fredericksburg, Virginia, who delivers bassline genius and solidifies his reputation and growing status in the global bass music community. He is a decade­long guitarist, drummer, self­taught producer, and sound engineer. His love of UK influenced bass music started in high school, when he heard The Streets ­ 'Original Pirate Material' and since then, he immersed himself head first into UK music culture. Having a hip­hop background in his college days, as well as his involvement with several musical projects across different genres, Malleus honed his production and sampling skills. He became captivated with dubstep and focused his attention on creating his signature dark and melodic sound with a focus on raw percussion sampling, odd time signatures, forward thinking syncopation, as well as sound system vibes.

John Bence's Disquiet is a composition in three movements for soprano voice and cello, but what you hear is not that composition. After scoring and recording the full piece, the 19-yearold composer manipulated the recordings to produce something new. Then he wrote a new score, re-recorded, manipulated, and re-scored again ... and again. This Disquiet is a layering of many — the process is the result: a slow-churning, microtonal wash, at once liquid and brilliantly crystalline in affect. Two timbres fracture into many. A tectonic drone slides below and aerates a chorus as vocals flicker in and out of being, wrestling with silence. Cacophony blends into order as subtle harmonies appear. What Bence has written falls somewhere between an electronic production and a classical composition. Where these two forms intersect is where Disquiet occurs.

'Project Mohawk' started out as a codename for a collection of tracks we'd signed from a select group of talented emerging artists, each with their own distinct sound and style of production. As the idea took shape, so the quantity and quality of the music grew, culminating in a commitment to nine separate EP releases. From that point forth our aim was to come up with a twist whereby each release could stand out in its own right, but also form a part of something bigger...

So along with the usual digital download components, each release will have its own limited edition lathe cut 10' vinyl dubplate featuring our two favourite tracks, lovingly presented in a hand made and numbered 'jigsaw of art' card sleeve. To celebrate They're serving up this disgustingly massive remix compendium.

Featuring some of the most exciting talents in drum & bass, each of the six remixes here offer a sizzling new slant on three of the album's biggest tracks. All armed with their own character and uncompromising dynamics, it's a challenge deciding which one to drop first..

'All Is Lost' starts the set with the perfect balance of emotional sonic star-gazing and gritty bottom-end welly. With stunning hymn-like vocals from Thomas Oliver and hype-hungry attitude from Youthstar, it's widely regarded as one of the album's boldest highlights. Naturally both Memtrix and Telekinesis have stepped up to the massive challenge.

Lifted fave Memtrix goes first. Opening with teases of the original's euphoric synths, he lets the vocals breath for one second before BANG: utter bassline sickness takes over. Complete sonic bombardment of the senses, there is no mistaking Memtrix's direction and focus for this prime-time piece of D&B naughtiness. And there's no mistaking the raw power of Telekinesis's remix, either.. Igniting with piano-primed 'lighters up' intro, we're soon pushed into the deepest end of the darkness pool with Youthstar's spitfire delivery, a gut-busting halfstep groove and a murder of distorted bass tones. Flipping to full D&B tempo midway, it's a strident party piece that will stay in your wallet or playlist from now until the 23rd century.

Next up, 'Dawn Of A Dark Day': A blazing unity of UK grime and Euro neuro, the day Black Sun Empire called up the Foreign Beggars for mic-duties was a game-changing day for the entire bass industry. Naturally both remixes pay respect to the fusion and fire of the original. Prolix takes the original's swaggering halfstep intro and adds a touch more menace on the low-end and an industrial punch to the beats before dropping into a rampant, rolling speaker-smasher. No face will be left unmelted when you drop this. We guarantee it. Meanwhile Receptor adds his own interpretation with an instant uptempo kickstart and the creative use of drama-drenched cinematic strings and devilish Slayer-level guitars.

'Killing The Light' brings us to a fitting climax with two of drum & bass most distinctive, forward-thinking acts on remix duties. Delicately dressed with the heart-melting vocals of Inne Eysermans, the raw emotion makes 'Killing The Light' the closest thing to a ballad Black Sun Empire will ever write. Paying respect to this, Icicle sharpens the kicks and snares, weaves haunting pads into the mix and takes the vocal to the darkest place imaginable. For those looking for more of a laser-snapping edge, look no further than June Miller's remix; bolstered with a gargantuan bassline and searing sonic flares, the Dutch-Anglo duo have taken the softness and depth of the original and subverted into a priceless peaktime banger that NO D&B DJ should be without this season.

'Suite for a Young Girl' is a mini-album by CTM (Cæcilie Trier Musik) by the critcally-acclaimed cellist, singer and songwriter Cæcilie Trier. Two years ago she released her debut EP Variatons (sold-out), this is the follow-up.
CTM is Cæcilie Trier's main musical project, but she is also a member of Marching Church (Sacred Bones) alongside Iceage frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt and has for years played live with Choir of Young Believers (Ghostly Internatonal). Before that she was signed to Bella Union with her now disbanded Chimes & Bells.

Forever Pavot's 'Rhapsode' was widely considered one the best debut albums of 2014 in French 60's-Pop-Psych-Library-Soundtrack-Prog circles. Emile Sornin of Forever Pavot took tme out of his busy schedule (gigs, gigs and more gigs) to join another cool french band, Calypso. They formed a lovely side project called Forever Calypso and recorded two marvellous pop songs that we are proud to release on
this beautfully designed 7' on Croque Macadam.
This is a perfect blend of both bands aesthetcs: a delicate songwritng twisted by surf guitars, primitve and cosmic synths and smooth exotca xylophones. This musical friendship is a silky dream into the music of Stereolab, Broadcast and other explorers of whimsical pop.

Micro Spiral return with a slice of electronic soul music which sounds like a unique fusion between Massive Attack and Spacek. 'Area' is originally a piece of funk-soul-world-reggae courtesy of Funkshy and Andre Espeut. Tansay Omar is the mastermind behind Funkshy who deliver soulful tracks which incorporate influences across a host of genres. The original of 'Area' will feature on the forthcoming Funkshy album. Andre Espeut is a gifted singer who supplies the ultra-soulful vocal for this single. Andre has recorded with Simbad, Yam Who, Copyright, Faze Action, Spiritual South and Rob Mello. The electronic soul remix of 'Area' is supplied by the enigmatic Scaramanga Silk, whose recent releases have received support from Don Letts, John Kennedy, Gideon Coe and Cerys Matthews. For this record, Scaramanga Silk has transformed 'Area' into a piece of advanced cyber-soul. By adding elements of jungle and techno to the original pianos, brass, flutes, guitar and vocal, the remix steps into dancefloor territory. The fragmented, heavy drum beats are the result of time-stretched drum & bass breakbeats which have been slowed down to a hip-hop tempo. Added to this are warped low-end basslines and futuristic synth chords which give the vital ingredients to take this track into the realm of electronic soul (Scaramanga Silk has coined the phrase 'Slow Jungle' for this style of music). The end result is a track that will appeal to fans of Harmonic 313, Vikter Duplaix, Steve Spacek, Jazzanova, Juan Atkins, Recloose and Kevin Saunderson. Embracing the flux within LA underground musical movements of
the last fifteen years, Elvin Estela has been on the studio grind while
touring internationally refining chops in bass heavy beats, electronic
bangers and psychedelic rock.
Since debuting with one of Los Angeles' first instrumental hip-hop
full lengths with 2000's Soulmates, Estela has gone on to remain
relevant within the shape-shifting scenes of LA's multicultural
artistic climate. Nobody utilizes the same signature mood, melody,
and diversity that identified him in 2000, but with an unmistakable
modern upgrade - no doubt influenced by Low End Theory, the club
he co-founded in 2006. Vivid Green is expanding on the repertoire
that has kept Nobody standing as a strong symbol for open ears.

In typical Goldie fashion the track shuns convention to become more of a song based composition, its considered, introspective and honest. Drum machine drums make up the rhythm whilst gentle guitars come in and out of the mix, the aesthetic of the vocal is so strong and brave it couldn't sit anywhere else but a Goldie track, hopeful and forlorn at the same time, the track reveals something new with every listen.

2015 has been a very very good year for Halogenix, his solo EP for Metalheadz is one of the years strongest release and alongside Ivy Lab he has pushed boundries to massive success but let's get back to his Broken Man remix, he takes the gentle edge of the original and exchanges it for something slightly more sharp and dark. The track becomes a eyes down dancefloor track, perfect for those 3am moments, another great jewel in the young producers crown.

Alister Johnson is a forward-thinking producer and DJ. He first emerged on the Toronto scene in 2006 via the Do Right! 12" Single 'Like A Star'. His trusted ear in the studio has been in development since the early age of 16. Johnson's obsession with discovering and manipulating new and unfamiliar sounds has led him to create a unique body of work that includes disco re-edits as Catalist, live performance work with Azari & III, and producing Zaki Ibrahim, just to name a few of his diverse accomplishments.

"Do It Again" is the title track from Alister's recent digtally-released EP (2014). The single, featuring the smooth soul vocals of Rahan Boxley, has been playlisted internationally and has finally made it's way onto this limited edition vinyl pressing. Founded by Impish the label has been a steady force pushing forward quality music from artists all over the globe.

The A side effort sees the prolific Random Movement on remix duties spicing up Malaky, Satl and Skeletones lush sounding ''Future Blues''. Signature RM sounds right here with a larger then large second drop that gives the track a similar deepness but groaner feeling then the original. On the flip we continue with a track called ''Girl''. Here we find Blendits Audio head honcho Chris Harmonics teaming up with Occulti Music boss man Impish for his debut release. It's a modest but weighty stepper with soulful and techy influences though definitely aimed towards the dancefloor.

Function and Vatican Shadow have combined forces on 'Games Have Rules' for Hospital Productions, simultaneously stripping back each producer's more prevalent production elements - the dancefloor-focused techno structures of Function; the experimental cassette-roots of Vatican Shadow - to create an album of dynamic electronic ambient music, equal parts rhythmic and atmospheric.

As befitting what began life as an 'emotional acid' album best suited for an after-hours home listening experience, Games Have Rules was created in the early hours at New York's Hospital Productions and Berlin's Inanimate Objects studios, helping imbue the record with a sense of night turning into day, and the shifting contrasts of dark and light the music evokes.

Although not created as the result of improvisation the album retains an effortless, free-flowing structure, while simultaneously introducing the traditional techno drum kit over the course of the record, deconstructing the ever-changing, looming presence of New York City's skyline.

Ambient in the most traditional sense, Games Have Rules omits the top-heavy reverb saturation of so many modern releases and builds from the ground up with an arsenal hi-fi and lo-fi production techniques/equipment with a cinematic sequence over the arc of the record. But whereas New York City has so often been depicted in film as a prison, Games Have Rules is an embracement of the city's endless possibilities: the LP's gatefold black and white image of The Empire State Building lit up at night from the inside; the ongoing stories of rise and decline lived out at it's base.

Tomaga's debut Futura Grotesk was released in November 2015 and the album and subsequent lives shows drew plaudits from musical luminaries as diverse as Tony Conrad, Nicholas Jaar, Silver Apples, and the post-punk band Wire, who invited the duo to do a European tour together.
If Futura Grotesk was the wakeful thought form, then Familiar Obstacles is the unconscious interzone, evoking numerous shades of the musical hinterlands of Tomaga, fusing studio experiment, field recording, and tonal spectrum into something that by turns resembles musique concrete, imaginary soundtrack and library music.

This was originally released as a limited edition cassette by the Blank Editions label in Spring 2015 and appears here re-edited and re-mastered for vinyl. Tomaga are a London based duo who have played over 50 live shows in 2015 in venues and festival across Europe to widespread critical acclaim.

Leading off with 'Metal Plate' and we're treated to huge slice of late night break action for the 3am dance floor. The clue's in the
name here as they deliver a proper slab of dynamite drum & bass perfect for the more discerning dance floors who know. 'Fragments'
continues in a similar vein opening with a fearsome syncopated break and a snare that bites through any mix. It just gets better and
better as the bassline crashes in, morphing and changing up throughout for a track that never lets go!
Then things take a turn for the techno as C&P let their love of other genres shine through on 'Nobody' with a smattering of cut up
vocals and old skool synths mixed into a thick melting pot of heavyweight drums and bass. Wait for the b-line switch too...oh gosh!!
Finally they bring things down just a little bit with 'Get Smart', a pristine two-stepping intro with smooth ethereal pads swarming over
the top...until the drop that is. As the snarling mid-range takes a strangle hold it's a the barrage of sub that does the damage here.

Since first appearing as an anonymous online presence almost only 2 years ago, Man Power has since released original music and remixes on a wide range of labels including Hivern Discs, Throne of Blood, Voyuerhythym, Ene Japan, and of course Correspondant, the home of the majority of his original musical output.

While his work to date has displayed a notable range of tempos and textures, his eponymous debut album sees him take a step further away from the dance floor and offers a deeper exploration in to his left-field influences, with a new almost pop sensibility that manages to swing back and forth between doleful to playful, over the the course of the Album's compact fifty minute running time.

Dave Harrington's first solo release is a two track, multi-movement EP called 'Before This There Was One Heart But A Thousand Thoughts'. Casting synapses between his work as as a multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer, Harrington leads a sonic odyssey through this latticed world rich in wild experimentation and sublime, combustible beauty. Journeys of rapture turn into journeys of fear and then to bright light. An upright bass creaks up and down woody scales for a moment of formless, astral groove then sizzles off to a field of shimmering tambura-like drones and reversed guitar chords. Clusters of percussive metal writhe and clang. Deep, growling static contracts and contracts to a point, pumping out new sounds like solar flares. The pings of a high keyed synth rush by like stars. For Harrington, what begins as one ends in many places-every sound is infinite.

Herva is the artist name of Hervè Atsè Corti. He lives in relative seclusion from the dance music world in the Italian countryside around Florence and is one of the most intriguing producers to work in house and techno for a while. His early musical life as a drummer, plus his extra-musical interests in engineering and electronics has informed a unique, freeform, and very tactile approach to dance music. It's house and techno that doesn't adhere to the usual influences of Detroit, Chicago or Berlin. The album he's made called 'Kila' (the Swahili word for 'everything') was put together using software and hardware that he often modifies, with a mixture of beats and samples punched in like old-school hip hop and synths and effects that give his tracks the feeling of dance music that's been teased apart, smudged and smeared. The music is relaxed and warm but simultaneously abstract and punctuated with ragged detail and gritty disruption. He's been in demand as a producer for a while now and has recently remixed Berghain resident Nick Höppner's latest release. "You hear my music, you get to see how my brain works" he says. The album moves across tempos, from the floaty upbeat disco of 'All Good On Your Side' to the full throttle electro of 'Seat Behind Mirrors' which gently gives away to a looping Burundi vocal. Then down to the old-school hip hop and wonky ooze of 'Mistakes Dealer'. The track 'Fading Above Smoke', is held in place by a repeating drum pattern while synths and samples scrape and wrap themselves around the rhythm. 'Dust Cover' approaches the sound of early Pole, as if it had been described to him but never heard, sending digital grit and glitches across a low-slung bassline and opaque dubbed-out chords. The album finishes on the overloaded climax of 'Fog', which runs awkwardly edited samples over a loose drum tattoo, with enough restraint to keep the track flowing.

Do you ever listen to a record and worry about its creator's sanity Granted, it rarely happens, but in the case of Innercity-Antwerp producer Hans Dens-it's a legitimate concern. Thankfully, Dens' seeming madness manifests itself in music so uncompromising and off the charts of classification, it convinces you that any kind of sonic innovation at this late date demands a bit of mental instability. By way of explanation, Dens says, 'People forget that there is only magic in this world, mostly black, nothing more.' In other news: You will never confuse this Innercity with Kevin Saunderson's Inner City. ABABABABABABAS (Blue Lion Child) makes Dens' rather strange first album on Further, 2012's A Lion's Baptism, seem like radio-friendly fodder by comparison. The producer admits, 'This release is surely one of my harsher, bleak ones... I tried to keep it pure, and again bleak. Also put the keyboards in the shelf for this one; it's all guitar and violin through an array of effects...' 'BAAL'S (KITTEN TRUMPETEER CHOIR)' fades in with what sounds like waves of harsh, scalding feedback-let's call it 'the black metal of ambient.' Dens conjures pitiless, post-apocalyptic atmospheres, but imbues them with a residual glow of dignity. The tidal 'MASKS AND MOLD MATTER' could be a noir soundtrack that's too weird and nightmarish even for David Lynch. Its main sound source sounds like the irradiated molecules of a psych-rock guitar riff by Chrome's Helios Creed. What passes for a respite in Innercity's harsh sonic universe comes from 'RARAGRAMS,' whose ill oscillations seemingl

Distorted Techno excursions. Opal Tapes figurehead Stephen Bishop has pushed a lot of boundaries with his label and his own music under the Basic House moniker since bursting onto the scene a few years back. The label in particular carved out a deep niche early and his momentum seemingly can't be stopped. "Caim in Bird Form" originally appeared as a very limited cassette on Digitalis earlier in 2013 and now finds its proper home on wax. This is Bishop in top form.
Basic House is never static, always burrowing toward the center of the Earth but missing by a few degrees. "Caim in Bird Form" is gritty, like the teeth of an ancient creature chewing its way through the rocks. Stilted beats crawl ahead on "I Found You," leaving tonal wreckage behind to be gobbled up by anyone watching, anyone who can hear. Each crack is another bone breaking, each stutter another crack in the ice.
Bishop ups the ante with the bleak futurism of "64 Bummer." Synths float skyward blacking out the sun underneath a veil of heavy bass. It's one of the album's masterstrokes, along with the caustic sonics of the title track. And then, just when the darkness gets out of hand, the circus comes to town in the form of "Ultra-Misted" to massage your ears, offering a hand in the night. "Caim in Bird Form" is undeniable proof that Basic House is one to watch.

FURTHER 100! - CD Version - reverse board digipack cd Fact Mag: Fans of austere and superbly crafted techno may be familiar with Nuel through his 00s Aquaplano Sessions with fellow Italian artist Donato Dozzy, which were deservedly reissued a couple of years ago on Spectrum Spools. - 2nd album after his 2011 debut on Further 'Trance Mutation' and his first new music in 5 years Tracklist CD: 1. The Rest is Noise (4:07) Italian DJ and producer Manuel Fogliata hasn't released a lot of records over the last ten years, but the few he has put out have always been worth tracking down. Perhaps best known for his work alongside Donato Dozzy in creating the much sought-after Aquaplano records at the tail end of the last decade, Nuel's solo outings have been just as consistent and just as impressive. Whether taking on metallic electro or syrupy, bass-heavy ambience, Nuel's attention to detail and his keen ear for a groove has made each release something to treasure. Nuel's only previous full-length, Trance Mutation (Further Records, 2011), was a masterpiece of minimal repetition. It was possessed of a gossamer-light surface, all trippy rhythms and wonderfully playful melodies, but it was deep too. Made with just one microphone and a handful of instruments in his studio in a small Italian town, it's one of those records that can somehow present the whole of a track in the first few bars but stay fascinating for ten minutes or more. While initial impressions might suggest little in the way of continuity between the organic tribalism of Trance Mutation and the colder, more mechanic sounds of Hyperboreal, Nuel's ability to go deep into a particular mood, a particular sound, links the two. An expert in the art of minuscule variations, Nuel's compositions are always changing, always evolving somewhere within their ecosystem.

Two years on from the release of their second RocketNumberNine album MeYouWeYou, London-born brothers in synth-and-drum Ben and Tom Page announce their return to the live improv fray with a crisp new black-and-white Split Vinyl 12' for Border Community: the James Holden-produced live take recordings of two track 12' 'Two Ways'.

A-side 'Two Ways' couples Tom's afro-tinged percussive melodics with Ben's beefy driving bass component to gradually build to an urgent, wild and joyful free jazz crescendo. On the flip, the complementary yet contrasting 'Balance of Imbalance' powers ahead noisily at the behest of Ben's insistent rave stabs, aided and abetted by the frenetic rattle of Tom's vintage Slingerland kit and the odd judiciously positioned atonal metallic clang.

A lost relic from the 80's Detroit underground. This "demo" recording is from a cassette found in a dusty box of donations left at a second hand shop. There is no info as to who, when or where this was recorded. What is it Post Punk Disco (Not) Disco Sleaze Wave or Mutant Surf It doesn't matter because its fucking incredible whatever you want to call it! A glimpse into what could/should have been a very important band had they gone further than this one track demo. 7' with original mix and an edit from FIT on the flip. * A Sides and Makoto team up for their sensational new LP, Aquarian Dreams. The two producers have each marked out stellar careers in drum & bass, and now come together for their finest work to date. A Sides album's never fail to impress, and all of his releases down the years have been key moments in his musical progression. Makoto is no stranger to album releases either, with three previous studio albums and a host of EP's and singles across a range of highly respected labels

* The album is set across Eight tracks, and features guest contributions from Riya, Tali, Robert Manos & Spikey Tee. Aquarian Dreams came about after the two producers put together several 12' projects for Eastside & Human Elements, as well as a collaboration with DJ Marky. In July 2012 they collaborated again recording Searchin', Uplifter and Simplicity after which they decided it would be a great idea to work on a collaborative album project. Over the course of the next 3 years they got together in London and Tokyo completing further collaborations up until January 2015 where they finally completed the album in Tokyo. The new label name was born from their own imprints A Sides Eastside Recordings and Makoto's Human Elements, giving you Eastern Elements.

* Flowing breaks and aquatic samples start the record in the best possible way with Jupiter, alongside Manos's soulful singing. Feelings of release and freedom will grab you straight away, as A Sides and Makoto really hit the high notes. Uplifter follows with rangy, deep vibes on the former and the latter being the producer's ode to the old school hardcore jungle vibes. You know you are in good hands with A Sides and Makoto, each playing to their strengths and bringing the best out of the other. Riya asks Where Do We Go, a positive, life-affirming ode to determination and seeking answers before the arrival of You Sexy Beast which is all about the breaks, disco feel and Latin vibes. Simplicity has a warm, welcoming, which is augmented by the vocals of Spikey Tee soon followed by the already classic original version of Searchin'. Back In Your Arms has Tali on vocals, with her words surrounded by a floating, dream-like soundscape. The beats are clear, the keys on point, and the whole track lifts you up and takes you away before Hurt My Soul takes things up a notch, with rolling piano, sharp hi-hats and a funky 70s feel to it and is the perfect summation of the feeling of the album.

A long awaited collaboration between Amoss and Arkaik. Sinkhole is a stomping slab of distorted funk. It's grimy basslines weave and growl over the weighty drums, whilst glimmers of pads and piano supply the epic transitions. Sinkhole!

'Fear' is as the title suggests, an intense foray into the sound of Amoss' studio experiments. Mangled bass twists and turns on-top of a solid sub line, and the drums hark to the editing of the 90s, with the added dirt that's now become synonymous with the duo's production.

* Returning to Dispatch LTD after a string of successful and hard hitting releases, DBR UK are back to present their debut album, entitled 'Rough Edges'. Serving as a teaser to the full album release, this album sampler features two tracks; one, a collaboration with Skeptical and two, an exclusive remix from Cern.

* For the first track, 'Hexton' opens up the album in fine style, as DBR UK combine forces with the mighty Skeptical, a local accomplice and long-time collaborator of theirs. Carrying an unmistakably infectious groove, super crisp drums and smooth low end waves merge together in perfect harmony, delivering a final product that's dripping with funk, oozing with style and continuing the momentum throughout, with a certain swing that only these two producers can provide.

* Up second comes a track exclusive to this sampler, as fellow Dispatch album artist Cern goes in the remix for 'Say What You Want'; the title track from DBR UK's last EP with us. Completely flipping the script with this one, Cern totally switches it up into a fiercely tight programmed amen workout. Re-using the bass stabs from the original as a focal part of the weaponry, the once soothing vocals of Amanda Seal are transformed into a haunting chorus that echoes throughout.

* Back on the scene with a vengeance and now releasing some of their best music to date, there's a lot more on the way from DBR UK.

This highly anticipated double A-side 10' is the next chapter of Matt Edwards & Joel Martin's Quiet Village story, and sees the duo veer into a world poles apart from their cult 'Social Music/Change' 12' on Phonica White earlier this year which was lauded by the likes of Zip, DJ Harvey & Milo.

Showcasing a more textured electronic dub groove, these pieces were both created during one of Matt and Joel's rare Berlin studio sessions. Spending time soaking up the atmosphere of Germany's 24-hour techno town, with the infamous 'Hardwax' record store at its epicenter, it is not surprising that QV weren't inspired by the city's metal machine music.

'Whether it was a conscious decision or not, we definitely channeled the vibrations of 'Rhythm & Sound's' rugged Space-Reggae and used this loose blueprint to experiment with sonic imagery rather than studio trickery. The results of these sessions yielded both the remix of 'Bahadir' and then our own 'Untitled' cut, of which we recorded several 'versions''.

On closer inspection this release on Edwards' Pyramids Of Mars - the Rekids boss's outlet for experimental and non-dancefloor projects - is actually a natural progression from their psychedelic Balearic masterpieces like 'Pillow Talk' and 'Too High To Move'. Since the beginning of their career Matt and Joel have always employed the techniques of Dub in their productions and feel there is no space for treading the safe and familiar path in their work.
