The pressing, antagonistic and almost claustrophobia-inducing sounds Meander introduced us to on his Carbon album on the well-respected Low Res imprint in 2012 gets a follow-up in the form of Gazing Long into the Abyss on Ruffneck's Tainted Audio's imprint. Ophidian's Meander project serves as an outlet that allows him to take take us places his hardcore alias won't, and this eagerness to pursue the experimental shines through in the 15 tracks on Gazing Long into the Abyss. Whereas 2012's Carbon album was a foray into the more dreamy and melody driven side of breakcore, Gazing Long into the Abyss sets a much darker tone, taking drum & bass as the middle ground and sees intense experimentation in all possible directions.

Over the past five years, Ricardo Donoso has sharpened his vision and craft into a diamond point.
Beginning with 'Progress Chance', into 'Assimilating the Shadow', and now 'As Iron Sharpens Iron, One Verse Sharpens Another', Donoso has pushed deeper into grid-like, trance-infused tracks. This new EP simultaneously closes the cycle began with 'Progress Chance', and blows the possibilities for the future wide open. Split over two parts, 'As Iron Sharpens Iron, One Verse Sharpens Another' is a treatise on duality and Donoso's strongest statement to date.Opener 'Affirmation' references 'Assimilating the Shadow' while still pulling the listener deeper into the darkened pyramid that Iron/Verse occupies. Donoso's composition and production techniques have grown immensely since 'Progress Chance', and the pacing over the course of these 12's is impeccable. Bleeding into 'The Sphinx,' the focus is further dialed in. As the geometry that's graced the covers of each album has become more acute, so has the music contained therein. 'Diagonal Environment' features a relentless pummeling of heady bass sequences and subtle leads while the 'The Old Straight Track' mixes elements of blackened dub and burnt-out goa into something new and addictive.

The 5th instalment in Sasu Ripatti's eponymous series unearths another pair of loose-limbed productions further developing a mongrel sound fusing robust Techno signatures with a fluid footwork template. Truth's fourth 12 for Tempa, features three tracks of their distinctive, sprawling and dramatic halfstep. While retaining the physical impact and dancefloor impulses that have long defined the genre, Truth tracks carve out colossal rifts within the mix, through which weave vocals, cryptic melodies and fluttering sound effects - all crafted for total immersion in the dance.

The 'How Strange' 12 is no exception. 'How Strange' is a supremely unsettling yet inviting listen, with a half-sung, half whispered voice slinking through the gloom, while all around sub-bass and lashings of peripheral sound distort your perception of space and time. Where the title track is built for sinking deep into, 'Justify' takes a similar set of elements and scorches you with its piledriving momentum, bounding forward atop an irresistible dancefloor skank. And the translucent textures of 'Yesterdays' frost like breath on a freezing cold morning, paired with rhythmic patter that arrives in fits and starts, forming a resonant and soulful end to the EP.

This project came to fruition some time last year when I flew from Manchester out to Rotterdam for the PRSPCT XL event, the same night I was booked to play PRSPCT was the same night Tristan (Author & Punisher) was to play his Manchester debut, I'd created the flyers for the event being run by Endtyme records, and was a little gutted I was going to miss him, Bong Ra explained he'd been short of booking him for the same PRSPCT event and we both discovered we'd approached Tristan about doing a remix of his tracks, I'd been given Flesh Ants and Jason was given terrorbird, being the fans of the obscure Jason and I are, we where delighted to hear we'd both be working on a remix each, we then approached Tristan again and explained we'd love to do a collaborative remix, 5 tracks later we had an EP, we then approached Lynn enduser as he was just about to re-launch Sonic Terror recordings and explained his
interest in the project, also being a fan of the obscure, and here you have it, this project started in the summer of 13 and now after nearly a year we're proud to present the full EP.

Lana Del Rey's 'West Coast' dropped a couple of weeks ago, and the lead single off Ultraviolence keeps Lana's feet firmly planted in retro territory. But instead of channeling some warped hip-pop version of '50s glamour, it has a seedier, vaguely psychedelic '60s vibe. Producer Dan Auerbach eschewed a swollen orchestral arrangement in favor of some lean, analog noir, while Lana sings about smoking and loving and leaving, alternating between a husky whisper and a heavenly coo. The Real Live Show & Nickodemus have collaborated on several songs including "Give the Drummer Some, Sun Children, Gimme the Music, Moon People" & more. They were quickly into the concept of going back to our NYC roots with this release. BAM takes us to the 80's while Stimulus & Malik Work bring us to the 90's. Dangerous Dutch Drum & Bass duo SINISTER SOULS have been working hard for the last year to create an album with atleast as much power as their debut Beat The Drum Hard album and man, did these guys deliver!

In other words this album kicks ass hard!

Head Boggle returns to the vinyl format with what is perhaps his most refined and focused work to date. "Serge Modular In Hi-Fi" was recorded in early 2012 at the S.F. City College Electronic Music Lab utilizing a vintage pre-STS Serge Modular Synth system and was conceived as a pseudo aural "cubist" sound piece with an intention to achieve pseudo 3D "cubed" sound through discrete recording and mixing techniques. The only effects utilized were four or more analog delays being played real-time a la dub/reggae mixing techniques. The final selections were then sent to Kramer at Noise Miami for hi-fi correction and an aesthetic mastering treatment and then to Jeremy Bible for a final mastering treatment specifically for the vinyl format resulting in a sonically rich listening experience of hallucinatory synthesizer ragas.

"Marigold and Cable" marks an indelible new phase in the trajectory of Alex Cobb's solo recordings and prior missives as Taiga Remains. The album's four compositions are streamlined and focused, finding a balance between studied contours and compositional intuition. Tints of early Stars of the Lid and Kevin Drumm's lambent drones are apt starting points, but Cobb routes them through a live set up without the aid of loops or synthesizers.

Disclosure return on 25th March with new single 'White Noise', featuring vocals from Aluna Francis. The single premiered on Radio 1, as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In The World.

With the infectiously saccharine vocals of Aluna riding over an elasticated beat that harks back to the halcyon days of acid rave, 'WhiteNoise' follows the amazing success of Disclosure's last single 'Latch', which was a-list at Radio 1, 1Xtra and Kiss, peaking at number 11 in the UK charts, staying in the top 30 for 15 weeks and going silver (sales in excess of 250,000). 'Latch' also notched up several number one spots in the iTunes' Electronic chart across Europe and went Gold in Australia.

After AlunaGeorge supported Disclosure at their sold-out-in-a-minute show at Brixton's Plan B late last year their mutual admiration for each other's music resulted in 'White Noise', which will feature on their upcoming debut album, due for release in early summer.

The boys recently announced their debut UK tour, which has completely sold out, following on from previous sold out tours of the US, Australia and Europe. They will also be returning to the US and Europe (with dates in Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam all sold out) for shows.s

Neko Neko drops the first part of his "Between Two Cities" series, entitled "Where", backed by remixes from everyone's favourite French beat-maker, Fulgeance.

Neko Neko's original mix on the A-side pairs lush harp samples with hefty kicks, claps and layered percussion loops. The track evolves nicely til the halfway point when it shifts direction, breaking down to a cosmic arpeggiated synth line that gets tweaked away while the other elements are expertly weaved in and out of the mix.

On the flip Fulgeance takes things down and dirty with a brutal remix aimed squarely at the clubs, chopping and filtering the main riff and layering it over his trademark rugged beats and subwoofer-shattering bass. This is followed by thugged out vocal samples and some innovative vocoder work.

To top things off, Fulgeance contributes another remix as a digital-only bonus track under his "Claude" alias, which comes free with the vinyl version via a download card. This time he steps up into housier territory with more subdued but still excellent synth melodies and uplifting piano chords.

7 months on from TP#4, Demdike return with the 5th instalment in their ongoing research and development series - a double-headed monster split between gnarly reductions on the A-side, and industrial strength edits on the flip. 'Procrastination' edges through Grimey detritus and gunshot snares within a vast open space perfectly primed for that Demdike slow build. 'Past Majesty' on the flip offers up a feral take on some kind of cyber-industrial insanity, somewhere between Ministry and Powell - with a denouement which should probably come with a public health warning attached to it. EAN steps up to bat for Cosmic Bridge, bringing 4 tracks of heavyweight, eyes down 80/160-range BPM rollers blending footwork rhythms with deep soundscapes and tinges of Jungle and Techno. His past work has come in the form of remixes for Om Unit's Searching on Stretched records, Ghostpoet's Cash and Carry Me Home and his contribution to Project Mooncircle's recent 10 year anniversary box set entitled Pictarus. La Escollera is a wonderful family-run restaurant on Es Cavallet beach, in the middle of the Ses Salines natural reserve. This breathtakingly beautiful stretch of coast is bordered by a small pine forest just past the salt lakes that give neighbouring Las Salinas beach its name. A short walk around the tip of the coast reveals deserted, untouched rocky outcrops with secluded caves, and none of the seaweed that swamps other sections of the coastline. This is the other side of Ibiza, the side that rarely courts the press but makes the island one of the most beautiful places in the world.
La Escollera is owned by Dani González, the son of the Spanish actor Gaspar 'Indio' González, who has been serving delicious food on the island for the past two decades.
Gavin Kendrick has been playing on the terrace which is at the side of the restaurant for several summers, and the space allows him to spin Jazz, Folk, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, House and Soul, to quote him, 'this special time on the island is perfect for really getting inside your music collection, airing the b-sides and album tracks that rarely otherwise get their chance to shine'.

Skeptical's debut 12 for Tempa draws together a pair of his starkly minimal, yet driving dubstep tracks, including 'Chain Reaction', which has recently been doing dancefloor damage as a dubplate in the hands of scene lynchpins like Youngsta and J:Kenzo.

Since 2010 Skeptical has become an increasing presence within the drum 'n' bass community, with both solo tracks and collaborations with Dub Phizix released through labels such as Exit, Samurai, Renegade Hardware and R&S. More recently he's turned his hand to exploring 140bpm tempos, and the results are startling; stripped-back and intricate in construction, yet as tough and pliable as tensile steel, and possessing an intrinsic swing that sends kinetic shockwaves through a dancing crowd.

A-side 'Echo Dub' is sparse and considered, rolling out above a taut, prickly beat that whirls around your field of perception. B-side 'Chain Reaction' is a prowling monster of a beat, hunched low and stalking the dancefloor. Its subs bubble and roil, punctuated by violent staccato melodic stabs that shatter the atmosphere to dizzying effect.

Having walked his own musical path for almost two decades, Sasu Ripatti's eponymous imprint has already
provided a platform for some of the most experimental and daring material of his career to date. Following
on from his debut release as Ripatti, and a complex riddim trip in collaboration with Max Loderbauer (NSI.,
Sun Electric, MvO Trio) as Heisenberg, Ripatti returns with his third release for the label, his first as Vladislav
Delay.
#5 on The A-side is complex and unforgiving, an intense percussive tangle that takes the dub essence of so
many classic Vladislav Delay productions and re-assembles them into a frazzled steppers-riddim at double
speed, sounding like a footwork variant of his signature dubs.
#22 on the flip opens with more immediately familiar Delay markers, a dub bassline lures you in before
once again re-configuring the template with a jittery percussive tangle that runs amok, with only a careful
alignment of snares keeping things from falling off the edge.

'Black Frames' is a creation from two major life transitions for Dave Aju, namely the end of a long-term relationship combined with a move away from his home town of San Francisco. Punctuated with philosophical statements and political punches, the former MC proves he isn't afraid to use his voice and production skills to unite music and passion with his latest album on Circus Company. The outer rhythms of deep-rooted electronic music form the backbone of 'Black Frames', while its veins are filled with the red­-hot attitude hip­hop, outerspace soul, and forthright lyrical content. A remarkable variety of songs covering topics such as personal relationships ('Psylica'), cultural issues ('Race on Haight') and global government actions ('Law') rock alongside bass­-centered dancefloor bombs like 'Nu Threads' and 'Clean St'. Through its body, Aju also tips his hat to 60s psych rock, early 70s fusion, and the soft undertones of blues as can be felt in the Magnum Opus of 'Vins Noirs' with it's full choir finale, the wildly fun and uptempo 'Bee's Birth' and the reflective close of 'When We Drift'. With a decade of releases under his belt and remixes for the likes of Nicolas Jaar, JT Donaldson and Herbert, San Francisco Bay Area native Marc Barrite AKA Dave Aju is a true maverick of the electronic music scene and 'Black Frames' is a proper follow-up, both a literal nod to the classic 60s/70s artwork that hung in his home studio, and a bold statement toward that rare place where breaking a sweat and breaking the rules come together. Aju's distinctive voice, a fixture in his production and live performances, has proven to have a life of its own.

Once again Impish and Vasilisa return to Occulti with some new stuff to show, and this time its a 6 track album "Underwater", which brought together the material written in the course of 2008 to 2013.
The mini album is dramatically simple in its concept, but deeply soaked with rainy vibes and loaded with powerful bass lines that have proven themselves worthy over the years on Moscow's underground dance floors. The two dark dance floor shakers Keep Quite and Tunnel have been chosen for the 12inch vinyl. The CD topped off with beautiful photograph by Ilya Kisaradov is released alongside with the vinyl. It contains the oldest and the most stormy of the tracks Don't Let Me Down, the heartfelt Why, Lonely Street and Haze, which has been released on vinyl in the early 2014 at the fellow label Audio Plants and had already make some noise on the dance floors.

There's a restless groundswell of producers making some seriously rowdy grime beats down in Bristol this year, in keeping with the city's ingrained tradition of hosting fresh talent and nurturing the green-shoots of sounds. The dank, claustrophobic club nights and tight-knit community of heads battling dub for dub has seen a crop of unruly riddims from guys like Boofy, Hi5 Ghost, Lemzly Dale, Kahn, Neek, Asa and Oatz shift into the blooming instrumental scene's focus.  One of the rudest soundboys of the lot goes by the name of OH91, and he brings that unabashed, soundsystem duppying, backhand-you-in-the-face toughness on his tracks. Coyote Records are hyped to welcome him to the crew as he drops heat for COY005 with the peak-time gullyness of 'Stealth', backed with remix fire from none other than Slew Dem don and legendary selector, Spooky. Built around brash synthlines, huge piston-pressurised drums and subs that hit hard and low, 'Stealth' is grime built for the rave, bristling with moodiness and uncompromising bass impact. Spooky's version agitates the rhythms with phrases of rolling 2-step skanks, and treats the snyths with raw, acid-like corrosion, blasting you head-on with the same full sonic spectrum and levels of energy as his electrifying DJ sets.

First off are REDS, a recently-minted East London drum-and-bass duo who we proudly offer their solo vinyl debut featuring vocals
from India's Delhi Sultanate and remixes from Canada's jungle don Marcus Visionary, the inimitable Mungos Hi Fi out of Scotland,
Dublin's Dirty Dubsters and one of France's dubstep legends, Von D.The bouncy original from the pair falls close to a dancehall feeling, with understated and low-mixed drums dropping away to
accentuate the bounding bass rhythm and the center-stage vocal performance. The old-school jungle style of Marcus Visionary
comes through strongly in his rolling remix, which revels in the rush of tumbling drums and blasts of mid-range bass. Mungos Hi Fi give this release a solid reggae re-lick with new sound clash style vocals from Delhi Sultanate and sweet choruses from longtime collaborator Begum X out of India. This particular Mungos riddim released earlier in 2013 to great acclaim featuring vocals from none other than Soom-T on her "Bong Bong" anthem. The Dirty Dusters offer up a unique, Euro dancehall twist on their high energy remix.
Full vocals and simple, yet, catchy grooves wind up the track in a unique style. From his rich past on labels like Argon, Black Acre,
and Boka, it would be expected that Von D give an altogether more contemporary treatment, and fittingly he reduces the tempo, ups the atmospherics, and brings in brutal walls of battering bass in half-step time for the smokers in the room while leaving most of the vocals, which were so present in the other mixes, on the cutting room floor. The third release on the Liminal Sounds label and the first of 2014 is the 'Progress and Memory' EP from Melbourne-based DJ, producer and artist Air Max '97.

The EP follows the 'Pulse X Remixes' EP and Arctic's 'Three Stripes' EP, which have picked up widespread support including radio play on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Rinse FM and NTS, DJ support from B.Traits, Dark Sky, Last Japan, Brackles and more, and positive reviews from the likes of Fact, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, SPIN, the Independent and WIRE.


Through two self-released EPs, a selection of deftly reworked edits and a burgeoning catalogue of unreleased dubs, Air Max '97 has quickly asserted his flair for making fresh, inventive and deeply idiosyncratic club music. His tracks have been played by Eclair Fifi, Mike G, Gage and Strict Face amongst others and he has received press coverage from international outlets including Vice Thump and XLR8R.


The EP features three original tracks alongside a remix of the title track from new Night Slugs signing Neana. Neana's tracks have been supported by everyone from Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 to Eclair Fifi and Mumdance.

Across a whopping 34 tracks Calyx & TeeBee survey the different shades of Drum & Bass that regularly grace the rooms of Fabric. Their remix of Friction & Skream's 'Kingpin' kicks off proceedings, a statement of intent setting the pace for a rapidfire set of new riddims from Ulterior Motive, Calibre, Blu Mar Ten, Gridlok & Prolix and many more producers pivotal to the sound of today. There are some unreleased gems slotted in the mix too, with a brief appearance of Xtrah's 'Compulsive' and Dub Phizix's remix of Bricky Mortar's 'Salford John'. The duo drop a handful of VIP remixes and original material, including their punishing RAM release 'Skank' and 'Pure Gold' featuring Kemo. Halfway through the mix Chris.SU's 'Solaris VIP' marks a turn into the deeper end of the spectrum, with Break's 'Tempted' marking the mix at its most minimal and Brain Crisis' 'Hands Up' at its most volatile.

A few classics are unearthed for the final section - Ed Rush & Optical's 1999 remix of Optical's 'The Shining', Fierce/Optiv's 2005 roller 'Surface Noise' and Kemal & Rob Data's neuro-tinged 'Star Trails' from 2000. Nuearth Kitchen christens its Nuearth Conservatory sister label with an exquisitely laid-back EP by the Stockholm, Sweden duo Tommy Awards. The four luxurious, untitled tracks on Sessions arose from a live jam the twosome recorded for Made Like A Tree's esteemed podcast series in early 2013. Tommy Awards have refined the raw materi- als from that excursion into a balmy aural journey into realms of spacious tranquility.
Track 1 enters earshot with an eerie, pointillist synth motif reminiscent of John Carpenter or Goblin and a creeping, stealthy rhythm, creating a tension between beauty and intrigue. This is something of a red herring, though, as the rest of the record is beatific enough to soundtrack your next deep-tissue massage. The crepuscular, slow-motion Balearic house of track 2 swells with gorgeous symphonic synths and is nudged onward by relaxing congas. The long coda exudes a profound sense of drifting on pacific waves. Track 3's laggard beats lope under a majestically drifting synth that ices over your goggles like those on Joy Division's 'The Eternal.' It's stunning. The 14-minute finale is ridiculously grand, a gilded sundown processional across the beach and into the sea, set to one of the most chilled house chugs ever. If you don't feel perfectly centered and content after Sessions, you may be beyond help.

* Blocks and Escher give us their debut 12' for Metalheadz, hot on the heels of the pair's contribution to the Platinum Breakz 4 album which was called 'Madness'. This release is the archetypical Headz sound. Blocks and Escher have an uncanny ability to capture the golden age aesthetic whilst moving head first toward the future.
* Moods
'Moods' begins with an introspective edge, with soothing vocals and pads set against rugged breaks. The track soon morphs into a sub bass roller however the mood soon changes and the track turns into a darker affair with mentasms and mid-range basses working with and against one another, the track is a journey through calm and storm in a way in which only Blocks and Escher could do.
* Razor
Pushed to the edge, paranoid, isolated. Razor is a track forced into battle. The intro evokes thoughts of a machine walking across destroyed landscape with an imminent sense of danger, and then when the bass drops we are propelled into battle with the tracks breakbeat edits acting as different opponents. The looping soundscape backdrop of the track becomes the fatigue of battle. We could go on, but we're sure you get the idea.

Fokuz steps up with their 3rd chronicle piece to complete the series. This EP is what fokuz stands for, new fresh music that doesnt need a hype just a good listening ear! sheer quality on all 4 sides..
The A side is CLS & Wax with some real dancefloor beats like hospital used to be. smooth funky basslines with proper ruff n tumbling beats, a tune specially for the ladies!

Jon Phonics (Jonathan Phoenix) has been steadily making a name for himself as a producer with releases on the likes of Giles Peterson's Brownswood Bubblers and a limited edition Cassette Tape through Bleep in 2013 (that sold out in under an hour). His signature brand of deep textured, soulful productions is hard to pin point; drawing as much from early 90's hip-hop as it does early 00's grime & 80s funk. Over the past 12 months his own label/club night, Astral Black, has been building a reputation as a platform for forward thinking producers in the burgeoning experimental hip hop and new wave grime scenes. The likes of Jaisu, Inkke and Opal Block have all contributed to the labels hand screen printed cassette series and there are some seriously heavy 12"s planned for the coming months. Packed out club residencies in both Glasgow & London are a testament to how this label has grown.

The final coda of the LCD Soundsystem saga will arrive this Record Store Day, Saturday 19th April, when Parlophone releases The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden, a 5-LP vinyl unabridged recording of LCD Soundsystem's near four-hour April 2, 2011 farewell show at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Produced and mixed by LCD founder and frontman James Murphy, The Long Goodbye is the ultimate audio document of LCD Soundsystem's now legendary final show. The album's exclusive mix brings new life to every note of music played during the epic MSG show--including of course the performances featured in the acclaimed film Shut Up and Play The Hits, which chronicled the concert while painting an intimate portrait of Murphy navigating its lead-up and aftermath.

Hailed by New York magazine as "a marvel of pure craft" and Rolling Stone as a "staggeringly great night," The Long Goodbye show was the lengthiest, most career-spanning set LCD Soundsystem would ever play. Whilst these tracks can be contrasted with previous 12's by Shackleton on account of the use of various time-signatures and the
move away from sample manipulation in favour of synthesis, those who have heard Shackleton's releases before will nevertheless not
be surprised to hear tracks intended for the dance with an involved narrative, poly-rhythmic percussive elements and a psychedelic

Since their inception in 2012, Claire Brentnall and Richard Knox's project has evolved from solo endeavor to fully realised duo. Starting with last year's single The Rule, Shield Patterns have shown a maturity and sophistication beyond their years. Spacious soundcapes are scattered with trembling piano phrases, skittering beats and waves of warm keys, all shaped into dark, menacing pop songs by Brentnall's bewitching vocals. Their two singles thus far have already caught the ear of alt-J and Dutch Uncles, both of whom have provided remixes of those singles. Now comes their debut album.Following on from critically lauded lead single Dust Hung Heavy, Contour Lines carries the listener deeper into their world. Each track is laden with the kind of dark atmospherics most groups take years to unearth. Here, the fragility of Brentnall's early demos remains, but finds itself imbued with a richness of sound that can only come from studious soul searching and a cathartic creative process. The vulnerability of her intensely personal lyrics is tempered with highly processed strings, subby bass-lines, and ambient passages that brood as much as they shimmer. Lines between aesthetic and content are blurred, so that singer and song are intertwined.

A strangely alluring release from a tantalisingly mysterious producer, G.H.O.S.T pits beauty and fragmented noise samples against each other in a bid to create some truly innovative new sounds. In "Rattler" this plan succeeds, with the disturbing chimes of the intro just managing to disjoint themselves from the main jungle-inspired heart of the tune to feel oddly intoxicating. On the other side "Bad Education" is an out and out old-school banger, raising hell from the gospels of Optiv & BTK and Andy C. beautifully dark and fluid, it's a mechanical dream of a track, perfect for any late night seance. Finally, bonus track "Waveframe" rips out the beating heart of a bassline amidst skeletal breaks. You need this, but it'll give you nightmares.

Indie.. "Sára Vondrášková, known by her stage name NEVER SOL, is a Czech singer and composer based in Prague. Writing her first songs in the age of 15 mostly for herself and studying music for 8 years at the conservatory, the important moment came around 2011, when she has been offered to play her songs constantly at one of the most vibrant Bohemian venues in Prague at Café V Lese. Focused on piano and voice she shared the stages with friends and musicians, becoming more confident about her own artistic approach and vision. Shortly after her first concerts producer Jan P. Muchow got in contact with her and the two years long composing process of her debut album UNDER QUIET began. To give her songs a frame Sára Vondrášková created the rather abstract pseudonym Never Sol. The piano has always been central in her music writing, but in the past years she was more and more gaining knowledge in using music production software. Creating sounds turned out to be another starting point to evolve her music and to get rid of the patterns and techniques taught in her classical education. Sára Vondrášková is a regular guest singer with Czech musician and Denovali artist FLOEX. Touring and performing with Floex is an essential influence and of course strong female artists like Cat Power, Fiona Apple, Jessie Ware Or Bat For Lashes keep inspiring her work. CD: digipak. Underground artists to emerge over the last few years. Combining a bruk shuffle with a natural flare for techno, Presk has been carving out his own subtle niche since 2011. Each track on this release stands tall alone, showcasing Presks natural leanings, from the raw broken funk hit of 'Saluki', the warped techno of 'Mod1 & Rais' to the deft touch of 'Vigor'. This is Presk at his very best, showing whats to come of this exciting producer and marking a very fitting return to the label.

Souleance are back! Following on from the success of their debut LP 'La Belle Vie' from earlier this year, the French duo have been busy in the studio producing La Beat Tape. 20 tracks deep, the release is aimed squarely at the DJs, with every beat guaranteed to shake the danceflloor.
Souleance are producer Fulgeance (Musique Large / MPM) and DJ Soulist (What The Funk Paris). Since releasing their debut EP (Le Monde) back in 2009, they have built a solid reputation for their idiosyncratic take on modern beats. With fans including Gilles Peterson, Danny Breaks and Mr Thing, their debut album was the culmination of 3 years of beat-making, touring, partying and drinking too much Pimms. Whilst other producers would rest on their laurels after releasing their debut, Souleance got straight back into the studio to produce La Beat Tape - their sole aim to create tracks that they would DJ with themselves. The result is 20 tracks of pure dancefloor fire.
This 7" is our pick of the tracks that we think the DJs will love most. It takes in heavy Turkish breaks (Sauce Samorai), Hammond funk (L'insouleance), Just Blaze-style horn-heavy hip hop (Como Estan Bitches) and loose-limbed hip hop funk (BBQ & Pimms). This limited edition 7" containing features artwork by long-term collaborator Alice Dufay: it's sure to join their previous vinyl releases as a genuine collectors item.

Created in an industrial workplace in Leyton, where Canary Wharf punctures the skyline, Circle Traps craft music made in the image of the modern city. The group consists of Jack Wyllie, Duncan Bellamy and Will Ward and was formed in East London in 2010 and quickly scored their first release on fellow East Londoner Subeena's Opit Records in early 2011. Their eponymous debut EP earned serious critical praise from the likes of The Wire, Quietus and Fact Magazine. Their attention to ambient textures is reminiscent of Actress and Daniel Lopatin, but their unique, multi-layered, crystalline vision is consistently offset by dance floor impulses that nod to Detroit through the likes of Model 500 and Derrick May. The Machine City EP is a lush amalgamation of textural, distorted melody and bassier dance floor leanings.

Where To Now records follow up the well received WANDA GROUP 'Masculinity is a wonderful thing' record, and a slew of recent cassette releases, with a new record from D.Hansen, formerly known as 'Lotide'

'A Pair of Quiet and Empty Rooms' 12". Limited to 200 copies with hand silk screened sleeves.

"With a strict 'no samples allowed' rule, Hansen has succeeded in disciplining himself to create something completely other. In his own words, 'this record is meant as a collection of physical spaces, rather than of textures, which was more or less the focus of 'Speak In a Low Voice'. Bits and pieces of junk were collected and recorded in a variety of rooms, at two or three distances simultaneously, natural reverbs mixed and melted with artificial ones, etc. The idea was to build fictional rooms and fill them with fictional objects.'
There is a comfort within silence on these recordings, allowing sounds and motifs to bounce here and there between spells of tension and cold quietude. On Side A, 'Defacing the indoor pond' and 'Fountain in a foyer' build on the clatter and scatter of loosely cyclical treatments. They engage in a strange and escalating parley, intent on eluding us as we eavesdrop, until politely showing us out of the room altogether.
'Dialogues' welcome us into a new space. There seems to be an erratic playfulness afoot here, one that eventually dissolves into the murky calm of 'Woman on the ice', a concluding passage that takes place among further distant objects, this time punctuated by the soft trills of a clarinet. Perhaps this is Hansen's parting gift to the listener, his way of leaving us with a more recognisable object to cling to, a safe space after a journey through the odd and unclear. Certainly a record for fans of both early and recent concrete excursions"

'Dear Diary' is the third single from Darlia and follows the success of previous singles 'Queen Of Hearts' and 'Candyman'. Their last single 'Candyman' was played over 35 times by Radio 1 despite not being added to the station playlist. It was heavily supported elsewhere including an addition to the daytime list at Xfm. The band were invited guests on the Radio 1 One Big Weekend in Glasgow and were also invited to play a Live Lounge session for Fearne Cotton. The single received its first play on Zane Lowe on 27th May. The band are playing at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Truck, Y Not and Reading & Leeds Festivals. Tasos Giasiranis is involved into music in all it's forms ever since he can remember himself. At the age of 16 while deciding what will be his studies he found himself working as a radio producer in the island of Rhodes. Villem has quietly crept up on the d&b scene. The Bristol based producer has had releases on Ingredients, Break's Symmetry & more recently on Samurai Recordings. His positive attitude to the dance floor comes through without the need to become too cliche'd. 'Spring back' is very original, with it's use of the 'payback' synth and jazz horns, but then switching to a big dance floor roll out. While 'Acouphenes' has a real funky rhythm and is a great break work out. This talented producer is in for a promising career.

Samurai Red Seal is pleased to announce it's debut artist album from label favourite ASC. Having built a mutually respectful
relationship with this talented producer over the years with a series of successful 12' releases, an album was the next logical step.

Camo & Krooked return to the fore with 'Between The Lines'; an immense fourteen-track remix album which takes their award-winning debut on Hospital 'Cross The Line' to a whole new level fresh for 2012. These two tracks which have been pressed to vinyl provide a tasty sampler from the album and are aimed at the dancefloor DJ, avid collector and discerning listener alike.

Struments Records opens 2014 presenting ''Fire to the Empire'', third record in 12'' format from this Barcelona label. Following the special dedication referred to the local talent shown by the label in its two previous releases, in this occasion the reference is signed by Clip!, relevant artist in the Spanish electronic scene that, after a versatile and prolific 2013, shows in this publication a new coordinate of their chameleonic sound. Thereby opening the door to more visceral coordinates, opaque and less intense dance that exudes less kindness and infects the club atmosphere with light and dark. The set, consisting of three original songs (Fire, Ash and Bitch), and a remix of ''Ash'' by the British artist Kommune1, discovers on side A two descriptive and powerful snapshots of translucent clubber atmosphere, winding and unfiltered. Proper of the dance hours closer to twilight in the shadows and lights mergers into sensations. While on the B side, the artists pays tribute to the most evasive and escapist concept that music can evoke, forged between the rage of techno and the subtlety of house, when instinct takes control over any convention and presents itself as a purely physical experience between the listener and the sound. Closing the total minutes of the reference, Kommune1 prints cosmic and expansive notes to ''Ash'', as well as he brightens the original version. ''Fire'', the central tune that starts and gives name to this third reference of Struments Records responds to six minutes that shapes a direct and powerful presentation letter. In which you can acknowledge progressive melodic phases and raw vocals that serve as a growing force of initial contact. ''Ash'' continues the incursion between hard and chiaroscuro dynamic, printing analog rhythm coordinations. ''Bitch'' represents the exact balance and highlight of ''Fire Your Empire'' EP, sobriety in enviromental nuances, vocal flare and power high-flying shape a depth completely orientated to the dance floor that condenses much intention in a speech coherently aligned with the sound. Kommune1 sets ''Ash'' with an eye towards fantasy and space, using resources in the original maximalist melodies and rhythmic accelerating phases provide the remix to get faster.

Incredible new LP from Swedish duo Michel Isorinne (Acronym) and Varg (Northern Electronics). Moving on from Varg's recent work with Abdullah Rashim as Ulwhednar, Isorinne and Varg manage to evoke the heatwave electronics of "II" era Cluster and still throw up images of the bitter awe of a Northern winter landscape, all the while augmented by pulsating analogue percussion and dense noise. Highly recommended!

The next missive from the French-Swiss collective Danse Noire run by Aisha Devi comes from the shadowy Algerian producer El Mahdy Jr. Recently talking to Wire Magazine El Mahdy Jr. says "Music ain't just music. For me the hidden story and the cultural background of a tune is always more attractive than the musical composition." Following up on his Boomarm Nation releases, El Mahdy Jr.'s forthcoming 'Gasba Grime' EP ventures towards new territory weaving haunting Arabesque samples into his skittering club constructions. The crippled tribal beats of "Zarga" and "Crack Addicted Belly Dancer" refine the ideas presented on last year's excellent 'The Spirit of Fucked Up Places', but the title track "Gasba Grime" which combines eastern sensibilities with a relentless grime swing into something more geared towards the dancefloor. The release's hypnotic centerpiece "Lost Bridge" emanates an introspective, meditative quality merging lurching rhythms with mournful strings and vocal samples. The EP is rounded out by a stellar remix of "Lost Bridge" from Blackest Ever Black's Killing Sound (Vessel, El Kid, Jabu). The third release on the rising Danse Noire label (Aisha Devi, Vaghe Stelle), El Mahdy Jr's contribution perfectly captures the label's outsider spirit, seeking higher levels of ancestral consciousness by using music as their ritual medium of communication.
