For a number of years Lapsus Records has closely followed the career of producer Gacha Bakradze and has kept in touch with an artist who previously participated on the "DEU" compilation (Lapsus Records, 2014) with the track "Blackout", under his more ambient moniker, Winter Flags. It was therefore simply a matter of time before a record collaboration materialized in the form of "Word Color", a nine-song mini-LP in which Gacha gives free rein to his most introspective electronica. This imaginative producer from Tbilisi (Georgia) has deservedly earned plaudits throughout the European scene, becoming a mainstay of the Belgian label Apollo -a sub label of R&S Records, a fundamental label in the development of underground electronic music over the last three decades-, for whom he has released half a dozen releases to date, receiving reviews from prestigious publications including Pitchfork and Resident Advisor. Furthermore, since 2015 Gacha has combined his facet as producer with the running of his own label Transfigured Time. "Word Color" is a cinematic arrangement of captivating melodies, rhythmic experimentation, textured landscapes and micro-vocal samples. Gacha has once again reinvented his musical ideology, bestowing it with mood defining authenticity and excitement, through superbly and

dextrously programmed rhythms and harmonies. Songs like "Leaf", "Oneself" and "Stray" travel into ethereal wastelands and are ambient soundscape pieces replete with nuances and unexpected twists. "Word Color" also makes room for beats, with the low pulse of jungle rhythms in "The Prayer", IDM and electro fusion in "Word Color", and even the sound of hi-tech breaks in "Sarphi Rocks".

It is undeniable that Bjarki and his bbbbbb imprint are at the forefront of Iceland's dance music scene, playing a vital role in asserting the country as a hub for genre bending electronic music. Although the label has proved to be a solid platform for Bjarki's own experimental material, bbbbbb continues to host some of Iceland's best talents (notably last year's lauded release from Volruptus who followed up with another killer outing on ).

For bbbbbb's 10th release Bjarki continues to substantiate his A&R abilities, introducing the world to Lord Pusswhip. Having enjoyed a meteoric rise as a key player in Iceland's hip-hop scene, the young producer's sound has continued to evolve since befriending Bjarki and the bbbbbb crew, and 'The Hand of Glory EP' now sees him at arguably his most adventurous and experimental yet.

Murky atmospherics introduce 'xmas jam creep' before a cacophony of percussion ups the energy, setting the tone for a dynamic release. 'crazy shit mane' follows with its crunchy drums, scintillating synths and sultry bass until 'hop out the car' blends hip-hop vocals with mesmerising chord sequences reminiscent of Richard D. James' early work.

An undulating bassline then works alongside a chorus of angelic voices in 'The Hand of Glory, making way for the syncopated and dreamlike 'shroomm0(u)rning'. Moving into ambient territories, 'green house living' layers pads and samples together to generate an otherworldly aesthetic until 'CHOPPA HARD' combines ominous drones with a steady beat to conclude the release.

The first release on Black Wattle comes from Sydney talent Thomas Gray. The EP, 'Never Far Enough', sits somewhere between a record for home and a record for the dancefloor. Part ambient, part spacious percussion, Tom's EP has the ability to relax you after a long day or keep you moving into the night. It is also Tom's first time being pressed on wax.

USA Import was ready to export its own music. Antwerp bio techno. Homegrown and uncut. These tracks are evergreens from that place and time.

Lil Jabba is a creator, possessing immense skills and artistry clearly demonstrated in both his visual and audio work. His profession in the latter has been acclaimed since his early releases, where he successfully delved into the realms of juke and footwork, producing tunes that took the genres to a new level. Since then, the producer has gone on to develop a sound distinct to himself, touching on ways in which he can blend his vast sound palette as seen in his recent projects released via Local Action.

For his first release on GETME!, Lil Jabba provides a five track mini LP that keeps us on our toes, unaware of what to expect next. It takes its listeners into positively weird places, combining aspects from dub, jungle and UK garage to produce sounds unrecognisable to any genre, yet well-fitting. Additionally, he presents us with tracks that are mentally stimulating in their dynamic and intense breaks, also offering songs which exhibit ambiguous dimensions.

The debut EP from Aussie producers Turner Street Sound has finally blossomed!

The duo comprised of Rory McPike (AKA Rings Around Saturn) and Ryan Hunter (AKA MidnightTenderness) first collaborated on 'Stoned Mix' for Domestic Documents Vol. 1 in 2016, shaking bass bins in its path.
The collection of tracks on Bunsen Vol.1 - recorded between 2014 and 2017 - encapsulate the boys' influences with a Turner Street twist.

Etch present tshe inaugural release on new label 'Altered Roads'. The label is set to focus purely on Etch productions. Initially stemming from a series of mixes Etch recorded titled 'Altered States' which focussed on selections of influential tracks that may not be immediately obvious in his productions and a direct audio visual link to the psychedelic imagery in the work of filmmaker's such as Ken Russell, Gaspar Noe & Stanley Kubrick. This lead to a switch in approach to production and return to the naivety of an 'anything goes' mindset. ALTRD001 features 4 tracks ranging from the psychedelic weightless ambient soundscape of 'When The Soul Departs The Body',hazy vintage kung-fu film sampling 'Lore Of Samurai', the crushingly powerful break laden homage to the defunct BLOC Festival 'Flamingo Grove', and ending on futuristic warp-driven hip hop 'Defunkt Logic'. The scope of these 4 tracks, disregard for the confines of dancefloor function sets the tone for what is to come on this label. All releases will see both digi and 12' vinyl release with incredible artwork from graphic designer Dario Bea. Coinciding with the first release will be a limited edition Cassette featuring an 80min hybrid live/dj mix of entirely unreleased Etch productions and live versions made just for this project featuring artwork from designer Melancholy.

* A1 - Stand Up, remixed by Kniteforce Records founder Luna-C gives this TRY UNITY track a hardware makeover by using Luna—C's studio kit to the max. The mix generated is nothing short of a '92 inspired masterpiece and it's own track in it's own right.

* A2 - Together We Rize, remixed by DJ Jedi has continued in his very succesful 'simple/subtle is more' approach that has gained many a fans worldwide with his production. The result, an overall polished hardcore breakbeat remix, with additional rave stabs and plucking bassline riffs from start to end whilst keeping the original vocals and arp's rolling through the track.

* B1 - Calling The Hardcore, remixed by German producers Systec & Sirrice has given a new lease of life to the original. The noticible difference being a quick fire '93 style remix with sharp stab, piano,vocal changes through out climaxing into hardcore rave euphopria with the 'Calling the Hardcore' lyrics by Francesca resonating throughout.

* B2 - Fight For Love, remixed by Try Unity themselves offers a less progressive roller to the original and replaced by this punchier stab tastic arrangement of '92 inspired hardcore breakbeat with an over all DJ friendly finish you know will get to stay in the record box for longer than average.

Gacha Bakradze returns to Transfigured Time June 2nd with a new EP, titled 'I Can Still See You'. The EP includes five original tracks.

LP There's been an air of hypnagogic mystery surrounding Acid Test's sublabel Avenue 66 from the start. Joey Anderson's oblique, Prince-inspired incantation "Above The Cherry Moon" set the tone for a label that's sound that has found beauty in the furthest recesses of the dance floor, in the murkiest decay of kick drums and rave stabs. Fitting then, that the first album on the imprint comes from Trux, an artist who has chosen to reveal nearly nothing about themselves. Following a cult classic mini-LP for Office Recordings, "Orbiter" bears out the anonymous producer as a master of liminal, conceptual dance music. "Orbiter's" ten tracks have a vaporous, shape-shifting quality, threatening to topple over into full-on kick drum bliss or vanish into ambience. Opener, "With It," moves from heady ambient rush to skeletal piano, while "Blinko" and "Roy's Garage" spell out a hazy memoriam for the UK continuum. Forlorn pianos ring out amongst the field recordings, excitable toms and jungle bass all softened in the enveloping gauze. "Orbiter" positions Trux as an unknown auteur who puts evocative world of tone and echo into dizzying motion, content to watch from the wings.

rbchmbrs returns to 1432R with another mind bending dance EP. Passports barges in with a mean kick drum and a manic attitude, slammin and trippin its way through sweaty samples. Sliced Mangos follows behind with more madness, a swaggering polyrhythm beneath a sicko loop. The B-side sees rbchmbrs slide back into freaky break mode. A cleaned up, bugged out update to the drum n bass featured on his first record. Club tested and approved!

Off the back of Rudeboyz follow up EP entitled Gqomwave, Goon Club Allstars are back with an EP from UK Funky producer KG. In 2007 Karen Nyame, otherwise known as KG, was at the Nottingham Trent University producing beats on Fruity Loops. Slightly isolated in Nottingham - away from the UK Funky scene's London epicentre - KG posted her tunes on popular UK Funky message boards and Facebook pages, but never had an opportunity to properly stake her claim as one of the scene's heavy hitters. 808 and Midnight (Flute Riddim) are two lost anthems from that era, although receiving support from the likes of Marcus Nasty and others, they were largely forgotten amongst the numerous stand out tracks of the era, appearing rarely in mixes of those lucky enough to have digital copies. 808 is the party anthem, it's joyous, quivering melodies ascend above the thumping kick drum, while relentless crashing snares and carnival whistles rain down - guaranteed to heat up the coldest of dancefloors. Midnight (Flute Riddim) on the flip side is the softer, slinkier bubbler. Built for smouldering club action and hot sunny days. BSNYEA is a new addition to Goon Club Allstars' burgeoning family of artists. Hailing from the Bronx he is a veteran of the Borough's Litefeet genre that soundtracks the performances of subway dancers cross New York City's transit system. On his remix of 808 he focusses on the whistles and gutter synth lines adding in booming bass drums and lock inducing chants. Hitmakerchinx comes fresh from his anthemic Night Slugs compilation. Bringing his signature FDM energy he drops the tempo and builds on the light, airiness, letting the flutes play out softly underneath the thumping drums.

5 1 1 5 9 3 combines influences of both worlds into a consistent and coherent album. Crystalline metallic objects collide, embedded into fractured endless spaces, sparse rhythmical syncopations shaping grids, holding sonic particles in place. EP3: 'Mov Clsr' is the third and final piece in a trilogy of releases, exploring the libraries of Spaceks recent hard drives. Encompassing House, Footwork, Techno, Garage and Broken Beat the legendary vocalist and producer has amassed a wealth of tracks created mostly on iPhone and iPad. South London to the core yet globally inspired, his off kilter swing and free flowing approach to music has always set him apart from the pack. From his work with J.Dilla (Eve/Dollar) to his collaboration with Mark Pritchard as one half of Africa Hitech, Steve Spaceks creative output has always been a million miles ahead.

45 Live DJ Team member Aeon Seven from northern France drops his first single 'Seven Breaks' on the label, a straight up BBoy jam aimed squarely at the Dancelfoor. A driving uptempo funk/breaks joint, all written by Aeon with heavy bassline, organ riffs, badass breakdown and tasty cuts and scratches. A peak time cut that any block rockin' DJ needs in their crates!
The flip features an instrumental version plus a little 'cuts' track so can add their own flourishes if buying doubles, or for use as an intro cut before dropping the main track.
Aeon Seven is a well seasoned DJ and producer with skills in abundance, from his early productions like the amazing 'Funky Furious ep', to the series of 45's DJ mixes he's been doing recently - 'Love Beams Defender', 'Lowdown Spectrum', 'Cosmic Thrill' and 'Funk-Time Continuum' - Aeon Seven is building an archive of seriously good music, produced and mixed with soul and flair.

The EP consist in in 2 tracks they made together and two tracks they made alone, under their solo alias Hdv and Mmmh, revealing a large spectrum in their musical influences and productions.

This is the remix edition of Dino Sabatini's recent second album "Omonimo" (April 2016, Outis Music).Like the recent album, this EP "Concentrica" features renowned Italian veteran pianist/accordionist Antonello Salis on the tracks "If" and "It All Ends Here", albeit here in different versions. Out of these two tracks the former is on "Concentrica" reworked by Dino Sabatini and the latter in a collaborative live variation between Salis and Dino Sabatini. Simultaneously with the announcement of "Concentrica" was it announced that Dino and Antonello are launching their new live project: Dino Sabatini & Antonello Salis present 'Electronic Opera Concentrica'. Howie B is veteran producer mainly known as a purveyor of early trip hop, having produced cuts from Tricky's debut album, Björk's "Post" and "Homogenic" as well as other major like U2.
After inaugurating the 'Opera' sub-series of his Outis Music label with the sublime 'Omonimo' double LP this April, Dino Sabatini has invited some choice allies to help define the vocabulary and expand the vision of the new imprint. The aforementioned album, which wove together Sabatini's atmospheric conjuring skill with the piano flourishes of Antonello Salis, already exhibits the label's commitment to dismantling the 'either-or' logic of contemporary genres by successfully merging a variety of supposedly irreconcilable styles, talents, and worldviews (e.g. both mythological and the technological perspectives). The follow-up EP, 'Concentrica', draws on the material from 'Omonimo' and delivers it into the hands of additional remixers in order to continue the Outis Opera voyage.

Brand new year, brand new imprint. CoOp Presents is an all-new record label, founded by IG Culture and Alex Phountzi, set to focus on the depth and wealth of talent that exists within the London Bruk movement and beyond, a project which they consider to be a continuation in the same spirit of the legendary CoOp movement.

Last Summer, the CoOp Presents crew released an EP via First Word Records entitled 'Selectors Assemble'. This was the first collective offering from a foundation comprised of UK dance music pioneers and nowadays bruk soldiers, navigating in & around the world of broken beat and beyond over the last two decades to the present day. Reinvigorated by recent Boiler Room sessions, the crew proceeded with more parties, more radio shows, and gained access to an unlimited pool of all-new sounds. The squad were primed and ready to move forwards from the famed days of the Plastic People dances, and further explore the evolution of their sound.

Selectors Assemble exists as an umbrella to showcase talent from originators and newcomers alike, transcending genres and geographics. Over the summer, more members were introduced to the clique, and it was clear there was much more work to be done. So we proceed. Setting it off, we bring you 'Selectors Assemble Volume Two'. The first six-track selection from the stable for 2018.

James Rudie opens the selection with 'Port Funk', a soulful 4/4 stomper, adrift with jazz licks and weighty bassline. Danvers up next with 'My Nina', a deep vibesy breakbeat opener that chops away, flipping its groove several times through the track. EVM128 steps up & steps in with the no-messin' tough tribal bounce of the 'Gamma Riddim' next. Cengiz opens up the flipside of the plate with some straight up bruk-funk that rides 'On On On'. Entek enters the dance with a twisted swagger and next level sonics on 'Robbery', ticking numerous groove boxes, before we approach the final cut from N15's own Miraa May, on the soulful flex of 'I Don't Want Ya (Didi)'. The rub on this last one coming courtesy of label founders, NameBrandSound aka IG Culture and Alex Phountzi.

Selectors Assemble appear on rotation monthly on Worldwide FM, as well as numerous other shows and dances individually, including upcoming parties at The Jazz Cafe, and the formation of a new base, The Flex, a multi purpose warehouse space in East London. The movement is only destined to grow. The stage for 2018 is set. Get involved.

FaltyDL flexes his rave muscle on the 'Three Rooms' EP, out on Hypercolour in January 2018. Big, medium and small breakbeat flavours in each of the three rooms.

It's already been two years since Leonardo Martelli's debut with the four-tracker Menti Singole. He has since been following the direction he took with this first release, at a rather slow path, releasing a lone and haunted mini-album, Previsto, in the meantime. With Menti Singole Vol.2, Martelli establishes a picture of his music, an update of his aspirations in the feminine.

Sparse, clear-cut and slightly nerve-racking, Micaella opens the record with the precision of a neurosurgeon. The song can be seen in many ways as a good introduction to the music of the Italian musician - past and probably future. Ethereal string machines balance the nagging acid leitmotiv: as often with Martelli's music, there's something going on in the background, some anonymous forces operating off-screen.

We can make the same assessment with Alice, the most obviously desperate tune on the record: the sad synth melody comes in as if it was trying to fill an emotional void, but the supposedly reassuring sentence is not complete, notes are missing. On Laura - just like with Alice - Martelli keeps on playing with the potential of abstraction of rap samples, a process we're familiar with since Previsto.

Sofia gives a particularly striking example of this weird game he likes to play as Biggie Smalls' words get progressively eviscerated from their meaning. Backed by bare percussive samples (a numerical metronome, copyright-free digital ersatz of percussions), Sofia depicts - without any artifice - despair in a post-industrial world, where everything has lost any sense of materiality - while Previsto was still set in a industrial world of steaming factories. Disarmingly simple, Menti Singole Vol.2 offers electronic mourning music at its most elegant.
