Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

The Canadian duo of Gremlinz & Jesta present their debut EP for Metalheadz, a 4-tracker full of energy, emotion, progression and creativity. All corners are covered with the ethereal atmospherics provided by 'Nessus', the weighty and assertive sounds of 'Departed', the delicate and graceful nature of 'The Drift' (which also features Rumbleton), and the title track closing the EP administering a dose of funk to the release.

After a two year hiatus, Bristol-based Hugh Hardie returns with 13-stunning tracks on his second studio album, ‘Shadows and Silhouettes’. After the

success of the ‘Colourspace’ LP, he’s continued to develop his drum & bass style, as a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, producing a plethora of

beautiful summer liquid, slick drumfunk and smooth down-tempo beats. He’s teamed up with the high-rising talents Pola & Bryson, Silence Groove and

Unglued, as well as singer-songwriters Emer Dineen, Cimone, Robert Manos and Charlie Brix

In a pretty typical Sabre fashion he's sent us a tune called 'Halo Danger', expectedly what we heard instantly was pure danger and another killer in the works... Now here it is coming your way on the 4th of June 2012. Insane production as ever, huge riff, huge snappy drums, huge low end. It's an instant Dispatch fave for us! We say no more... On the flip we have Sabre's often studio production partner in crime Halogenix briging us something solo, completely creative, fresh and inspiring. His productions are quickly building a reputation and 'Laika' holds no exception!
DJ support is very widespread on this release already coming from the likes of: DJ Marky, Alex Perez, Ant TC1, Jubei, Spectrasoul, Octane & DLR, Klute, Zero T, Rockwell (Ministry of Sound Radio), Lenzman, Icicle (as featured on Rinse19 CD), Ulterior Motive, Skeptical, Hybris, Kasra, Nymfo & Safire.

This is what you get when you mix hardcore and drum & bass and do it well.

Formerly of Chroma, with releases on RAM, Renegade Hardware, Commercial Suicide, CIA and more, Tyrone is now out to make a statement as a solo act.

DJ Tango (RIP) was a D&B scene legend and originator.

This series are remastered from Digital Originals and include Dubplate only versions of some classic tracks from the early years

Wild rephlexian cuts from 1996, recorded in Rome during the illegal rave era _ 200 copies, vinyl only, no repress.

We’re absolutely stoked that Zero B’s ‘Lock Up’ is the next instalment in Shadow Child’s ‘Curated by’ series on Food Music ..with a remaster exclusively cut to vinyl and a huge remix package in tow from the likes of Red Rack’em, Kiwi, 2 Bad Mice and more. This one is truly alive everywhere still and all these years later, these new mixes are set to take it as far as Lock Up has ever been before.

Red Rack’em takes his huge, unique wonky approach to a new high with atmospheric synths & breakbeats wrapping around that incredible Bassline. Movin Shadow dons 2 Bad Mice join the party taking us on a massive breakbeat excursion which compliments the original.. new Amen breaks, samples and Bassline’s here! Jerome Hill gets even more ravey with 4 to the floor breaks and new stabs perfectly woven with Lock Up’s familiar vibe. Lady Blacktronika takes us to the Berghain at 5am with a sublime dark techno stormer, whilst Kiwi’s rework is passionately put together paying full respect to the original arrangement. Finally, Nexrotype is unapologetically brutal with the Amens and original euphoric pads, providing us with an epic Jungle workout that would even stun the Aphex Twin.

CIA Records give us the fourth instalment in the hugely popular Classified Series. It's an all-star line-up with new talents mixing with established artists and established artists forming new entities, it's very much a collaborative affair with each track being made by more than one person.

The EP starts with The Sauce (a new act comprising Spinback Total Science, DLR and Hydro) remixing perhaps the biggest dnb tune of the 00s- 'Nosher'. Zero T links up with Phase on the soulful future classic, 'Talk To Me.'

Total Science and Script deliver all the bass you need in under 5 mins with 'Devils Gate' and Bristol production duo Ill Truth link up with Rotterdam's Satl round the EP off with 'Hot Data.’

Sofa Sound Bristol returns with a double A-side collaborative single after the runaway success of the label's debut various artists compilation 'Sofa King Sick'. This time label boss DLR teams up with two huge talents in Abis and Signal. Abis is no stranger to drum n bass having been one half of the very successful act June Miller and Signal has cemented himself as one the most exciting artists to emerge in recent years.

The fourth single on Sofa Sound once again shows the label's versatility and is another step in label going from strength to strength.

3 track vinyl 12” pressed on heavyweight (180g) black vinyl and housed in a full art reverse board sleeve featuring an original illustration by Eveson.

Coming off the back of the critically acclaimed Trilogy project for Ingredients Records, producer DJ & visual artist, Alex Eveson aka Dead Man’s Chest, continues to explore his unique brand of tripped out junglist revivalism with the launch of his latest creative venture: Western Lore.

The Throwing Shades EP throws down a patchwork concoction of lazer tinged breaks, atmospheric rushes, soundclash recordings and crusty rave tape samples, deftly woven together in Dead Man’s Chest’s signature punch-drunk style.

We launch a new vinyl series, strictly limited to 200 units, NO repress, on which we'll be releasing the finest tracks released on The Digital Pot (DIGIPOT).

For this second strike, we've chosen a couple of tracks released back in 2015, for our 10 year anniversary.

This time, italian duo Hallucinator, usual suspect on PRSPCT Recordings and on the biggest hardcore events worldwide, delivers a psychodelic mad track called "Circus Freak". Banger.
On the flip, once again for this vinyl limited series, french duo Katharsys brings a bunch of filthness with Suricate.

After their successful release "Identity Crisis EP" last year, Fokuz is happy to announce that The Vanguard Project is back with four new bangers.

AMIT is back on Metalheadz for the first time since 2012 with a weighty 3-track release dripping in his signature sound and style.

One of the original kings of halftime, AMIT's extensive discography speaks for itself, crammed with game changers, straight up killers and experimental offerings, with no doubt that this will slot right in.

After teaming up with label boss Coco Bryce early last year, Dead Man's Chest aka Alex Eveson goes in for his first solo release on Diamond Life.

Drum Shanty is definitely the more rowdy one. Going straight for the throat with a ragga chant and gritty lofi drums, it'll surely get any party started in no time. It's rough and rugged, but still retains Eveson's trademark subtle style and flair.

Blue Mountain is a whole other beast. Its low pitched breaks and quirky melody make it sound more like a double tempo trip hop tune than the junglist skank outs you might expect from Dead Man's Chest.

Pete Cannon ends the N4 trilogy with the best of the bunch. This EP is his usual blend of raw Amiga power. Authentic hardcore sound made in an authentic hardcore way, using original ingredients, techniques and studio equipment. All hardware, all hardcore, all the time! However, this one takes a slightly more...piano-ey....turn, and in doing so brings us some of the most brilliant old skool to date. It is certainly an unmissable EP, not only the strongest of the N4s, but also the perfect end to a perfect series. Unless a part 4 comes along, in which case, I will backwards engineer this write up to make it look like it was always gonna be part 3 of a quadrilogy or whatever the word is for that!

Cosmic Bridge’s club focused ‘Earthbase Series’ continues with ‘Nocturnal’ the new release from Russian producer A.Fruit.

Four tracks that fuse Footwork, Drum’n’Bass, Techno and bold sound design into the 160 BPM framework. A er a heavy hitting set of releases via Russian imprint Hyperboloid, Irish modern trendsetters Rua Sound, and the ever vigilant Med School, so please welcome A.Fruit to the Cosmic Bridge roster.

Label boss Om Unit says: “Anna has a rare ear in this 160bpm world; one foot firmly in the techier sound-design lane, and one in the world of fun dance floor sounds. Well mixed, and not too serious! It’s great to have her on board and we look forward to sharing a stage soon!”

Kicking things off is ‘Make Them Shake’, a hypnotic and contorted expression of footwork with bubbling bass and drum FX - only for the boldest of dancers. ‘Polykarp’ comes complete with rugged old school hardcore chops twisted into a technoid stepper. ‘Deep Insight’, is reminiscent of early Moving Shadow Jungle; hypnotic & minimalist with tight drums, glitches and jazzy late night moments. Closing track ’Before You Go’ is a breaks filled, garage-footwork workout; cheeky vocal cuts and rolling syncopated rhythms for your waistline!

Some 3 years ago, Abyss was responsible for one of Myor Massiv's most popular releases. Now he finally makes his long awaited return to the label for a split 12” with Tommy The Cat.

Both tracks are heavy Amen rollers. On the a-side Abyss goes in for some serious hardcore business with “Journey Of A Crackhead” whereas Cat In The Bag head honcho Tommy The Cat opts for a dirty dubwise approach on the flip.

Rotterdam based Blendits proudly present their first four track EP featuring beats by Chromatic, J Daure, Bredren & Philth. The tracks are a perfect representation of the artists and label's versatility, ranging from weighty dancefloor steppers to stripped back minimal sounds and even some soulful/experimental vibes.
The 12'' vinyl release includes a download card for all four tracks.

Firing out of Wakaan on May 24th is the supercharged new EP from New Zealand’s very own TRUTH. They began working together a decade ago and ramp up the intensity for this four-track offering, which brings out their contagious, floor-filling vibe as an act.

TRUTH kick-start the EP with its title track; a busy bassline and reverbing bass notes thud out of the speakers with fiery direction and crisp rhythms. ‘Goodnight’ blends drifting vocal samples and a deep, grooving beat that has been drenched in low-end energy.

‘Creatures’ is a chance for menacing snatches of melody to infiltrate its commanding bassline, coming in thickly textured waves. The last tune here is ‘For Sure,’ again showcasing TRUTH’s knack for incorporating unique samples and coupling them with a roving, pitched down backdrop.

They say "With this EP we wanted to showcase some of the diversity of our sound. From the triplet-driven crazy energy of the title track ‘The Unexpected’ with its bouncy bassline and in your face sound design. The ravey, garage-esque intro of ‘Goodnight,’ which transforms into a snarling reese-bass monster. ‘Creatures’ is something straight out of the swampy depths, sucking you in with horror vibes. Then ‘For Sure’ is just plain weird, but catchy, upping the tempo on that one.

We've been vibing on Wakaan for a while now, so it's a real honor to be able to release a full EP of material on such a dope label. There also seems to be a massive crossover in people who enjoy the Wakaan sound and people who follow our Deep, Dark & Dangerous label. So we're really excited to see how people respond to this release, and just in general seeing what the future has in store for the scene as a whole!

Oh, and did someone say purple vinyl"?

It’s time to expect ‘The Unexpected’…

This classic DANNY STYLES track was originally released on LUCKY SPIN RECORDINGS and the masters have long been lost. Danny has managed to find the original disks and has painstakingly recreated the original using those old AKAI S1000 & ATARI disks with a borrowed ATARI 1040STE and AKAI S1100 (Thank to Peter Argyle for this!). There was also a previously unreleased mix of LIFE IS A ROLL on the disks which has also been brought back to life and can now be heard for the first time in 25 years.

Set to be one of the biggest tunes of 2019, Vanta Black is a sonic statement like no other.

Headed up by the inimitable instrumental, the release also features the equally sought after Inja vocal version as a digital exclusive and a VIP of Low Blow, the original being the track that started Benny L's Metalheadz journey almost 2 years ago.

Every once in a while a spark of an idea balloons into something astounding and takes the drum & bass world by complete surprise. As an ode to the seminal track by legendary British band The Beatles, Urbandawn has created a very special 174 cover of 'Come Together', featuring the vocals of the world-famous Beatles Bootleg frontman Tyson Kelly.

Urbandawn's unrivalled production has seen him turn the heads of the scene's most infamous figures with support pouring in from dance music titans Andy C, DJ Marky, Danny Byrd, London Elektricity and the track even getting rewinds in the booth from Skrillex.

The 'Come Together' cover doubles down on the combined doses of nostalgia and euphoria. Where the energy from the original British pop culture classic is matched with all of the extravagant trimmings of Urbandawn's unique D+B style. It's first-class-crunch has made some serious noise and propelled him to the forefront of the D+B community, making Urbandawn one of the most sought after dubplate creators.

After notable releases such as his phenomenal 'Gothenburg Cluster' LP and the delightfully dynamic 'Sleeping Awake' EP, the cover comes in a class of its own that has come crashing through the ages - coveted by many, and now finally available for all on a limited edition one sided heavyweight, etched vinyl with classic 60's style design
