Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

Technicolour & Komatic are one of the most exciting production duo's out there at the moment. 2012 is promising to be a big year for them as they have a whole bunch of releases forthcoming on various labels.

The first 1000 limited edition 4-piece Gatefold vinyl are shrink-wrapped and contain the full CD album + exclusive interactive artwork sticker sheet inside. All re-presses after this will be the vinyl on its own.
*With a track record of bringing us stone cold classics throughout his decade-long career, the man otherwise known as Matthew Gresham returns with his fourth artist album 'Fear Not'.

Early DJ support from Bryan Gee, Fabio, Artificial Intelligence, Jumping Jack Frost and more.

Presenting the new EP from C156, Barcelona´s bassline masters. The bastard child of four young catalan producers. C156 is the subwoofer-eating monster formed like Voltron from the combined efforts of Cauto, The Gardner, Dr Res and Drome. With respective histories in dubstep, jungle, house and hip hop, C156 presents their 12~ debut for Disboot full of music that takes from and defies limitations to any of these genres. While taking their cues from Sheffield´s exploding Bassline House scene, c156 present three tracks that could have only come from the winding, gritty streets of the Gothic Quarter. The opening '1,2,3 OINK' takes dark melodies and pensive piano stabs and wedges them between rhythms alternating between hilariously phat bassline house sensibilities and half step pressure. The most sinister track on the EP, beats and bass are twisted and ground into buckwild mayhem. 'Can leprous be trendy' tests all dancefloor hipsters to stand still with a maniac beat that literally threatens to fall apart as it pummels through its rapidfire rhythm changes and lfo abuse. Constantly rising and falling, the track is unpredictable and surprising, commanding you to move parts of your body you never knew existed. Ending with the current crowd favourite, 'Latin Mayhem', c156 take their latin musical lineage into the bass music fold with their tongue planted firmly in their cheek. Utilising a plethora of samples from various salsa riddims, this track is straight dancefloor fire that will have you pounding the floorboards or rolling on them in hysterics. Never content with gimmicks, the track maintains the signature c156 attention to detail and ridiculously heavy subsonics, something for heads and dancers alike. Full of wobbling bass, dancefloor murdering 4/4 rhythms and an overriding sense of humour, this is a perfect addition for the crate for those 3am peaks in the club.

After racking up some of the toughest bass-laden releases of 2012 both individually and collaboratively, Sleeper and District kick off 2013 with vital debut 12" on Kryptic Minds' Osiris Music uk imprint. The duo build a venomous soundscape ravaged by low- frequency menace on 'The Risk', with commanding kicks driving through the mix underneath lashings of twisted synth engineering to create a brutal composition that sits somewhere between Dubstep and Techno. Sleeper fronts up the flipside on a solo tip with 'Dark Mutations', a fierce halftime monster with licks of writhing mid-range riding colossal waves of sub-bass. Powerful and hard hitting vibrations from the Coventry-based pairing.

The Sect Music moves onwards and upwards with a 3 track EP featuring label cohorts Current Value and Dean Rodell. The A-side sees CV demonstrate his rolling side, with an absolute stormer that has smashed clubs and raves worldwide - and not a pot nor pan in sight. Euphoric synth work precedes militant beats and a bassline that has been the cause of plenty of rewinds, not to mention outright dancefloor devastation. The flips sees The Sect come through with a rugged beats, bass and bleeps edit fest - rolling and relentless tech-funk in trademarked The Sect style. Finally Dean Rodell completes the vinyl package with a monster of a tune - eerie and menacing from the off, this dark masterpiece twists, turns and evolves throughout. The release also features an extra track on the digital version, Mr Rodell again supplying a bass-driven banger for the dancefloor, which features one of the sickest midway switches in years. Deadly.

Support received from DJs across the D&B spectrum - all of these are certified tried, tested and approved for damaging dancefloors.

We are proud to say that the sampler for the magnificant ''The Dark Defender Album'' is one of the most energetic outputs on the Citrus label thusfar. These two tracks are already in high demand and will float around for a while after its releasedate. BTK delivers some excellent remix work on the B side. On the A side you find 'Heat' one of the most slamming tracks on the album.

10 years on from the release of the original, the launch of Liminal Sounds as a label comes with a selection of reworks of Youngstar's seminal 'Pulse X' featuring Visionist (92Points, Keysound, Signal Life, Lo Note), Blackwax (Tube10), Slackk (Local Action, Numbers), Pedro 123 (Get Some, B.Yrslf Division) and Elsewhere (Liminal Sounds, Get Some).
Widely considered to be the first grime track ever made, 'Pulse X' is one of the most important, influential and recognizable tracks the scene has ever birthed. It is testament to the lasting impact of the track that it still finds its way into the bags of a diverse range of DJs a decade later.

Two years after kicking off FOOTPRINTS with 'Devil Inside' PRINT001, the mighty Calibre returns to grace Zero T's label with this three track EP. This release showcases Calibre's diverse genius, with two house tracks and one dubby DnB roller.Title track 'Rennaisance' is a smooth jazz/dub deep house affair, complete with trademark Calibre horn and vocal snippets.'Reach' is a more uptempo, US Garage style number. Featured on Zero T FABRICLIVE052.Finally we have the Drum and Bass end of things covered with 'Plugs'. From the moment the Bristol-esque sub drops it can only be one man.All three tracks are taken from the forthcoming LP 'ZERO T presents FOOTPRINTS Volume 1

The diverse dutch guys June Miller and Tempa's dubstep signing Proxima deliver a slice of tech funk with the track "Killswitch
Engage" already featured on Kasra's Fabriclive mix. "I'm Sick" from none other then Spinline's Gamma is another stomper to make
this release the best to ever grace vinyl on Demand Records.

VERY Limited white label.. Teed's Household Goods get stripped back and worked over by Enei, while the much sought after Calibre
remix of Garden gets a repress on the flip side.
Please note we only have a handful of these records!

* If you have ever been a fan of the sunnier side of drum & bass then you'll no doubt recognise the name Young Ax. Germany's funkiest export has been turning out feel good music that's packed with fresh feeling and inimitable musicality for over a decade.
Working alongside Santorin, the label he's released the majority of his music on, Young Ax launched his own imprint as an outlet for his personal favourite tracks. And for Suga Phonic's third release Young Ax has enlisted the help of one of the D&B scene's most loved veterans, Calibre.
Taking Young Ax's 2005 classic 'Midnight Sun' and wrapping it in his own production style, Calibre has created something that every D&B fan will want in their collection. Rolling breakbeats and effortless musicality are blended up with an infectious bassline and all those classic Calibre trademarks that we love so much.
Backing that up Young Ax offers 'Rave Zeit' - a cunning concoction of enveloping synths and old skool jungle breaks that oozes with fresh ideas. As the musical pressure builds and pulls you in, it's not long before Young Ax unleashes the tension and the drop washes over you with perfect bassline pressure.
Finally Young Ax offers up a Funkmischung of 'Midnight Sun' with refreshing downtempo results. If Alex Zwingenberger had been born a decade or two earlier this could have been the backing track to a Stevie Wonder classic. An incredible addition to an already stunning package.

The heavyweight Portugal based Drum & Bass promoter and crew, Yellow Stripe, begins a new era with the first release on its newly established label, Yellow Stripe Recordings.

Following on from the success of the Way Of The Samurai 2 'Code Of Honour' compilation, we have been persuaded by popular demand to release one more of the tracks from the compilation on vinyl. Tokyo Prose 'Raised By Wolves' has proved to be the most popular selling digital track from the entire compilation so it is only fitting it gets immortalised to vinyl. 'Status Anxiety' is a brand new track from Tokyo Prose that has been getting DJ support across the full spectrum of DnB DJ's. Once again proving his versatility, this release leaves the world waiting patiently for the debut Tokyo Prose LP in 2013.

Rinse FM started life in 1994 as a jungle station, and jungle lies at the roots of each new music Rinse has championed since. With Rinse:20, Uncle Dugs, the station's only dedicated old- skool DJ, offers a potent reminder of the genre's power.

"It's my 'Story of Jungle mix'," says Dugs. "A story of jungle music until it changed to drum & bass." Opening with Lennie De Ice's 'We Are I.E' - widely accepted to be one of the first jungle tracks - the album travels through an exhilarating chronology of the genre's evolution through the 90s. "To do that in 21 tracks was challenging," he laughs. "I could have done with 121. But it's a history of the music, mixed all on vinyl, live, and I challenge anyone to go into the studio and do a better job!"

Dugs is perfectly placed to take listeners through that history. He's been involved in pirate radio for 20 years, having caught the rave bug as a teenager. "I've never found music that's buzzed me like that," he grins. "There's nothing that's ever done that to me again. The minute I found it, that was me, forever."

Listening to the mix, you can hear that passion bubbling to the surface. Across its hour length, Dugs weaves from instantly recognisable tracks - the ragga bounce of Conquering Lion's 'Dub Plate Special (Ruff Cut)'; Andy Reece's 'Pulp Fiction' - through a mesh of tunes that represent important steps in the sound, from the headrushy bliss of Nookie's 'Gonna Be Alright (Cloud 9 Mix)' to the rolling momentum of Shy FX's seminal 'Bambaataa'.

Dugs returned to Rinse in 2011 to start a new weekly show of old skool jungle and hardcore on the station, as well as regularly inviting in legends of the scene to be interviewed on air. The response has been astonishing, which is one of the main reasons why a mix like this - which recaptures the energy and innovation of a scene at the height of its creative power - feels like an important statement. With so much of the new music that Rinse champions so strongly connected to jungle, there's no better time to remind people of those roots, and how deep they truly run.

For a limited time only get a free Critical Sound poster with each copy of the Sequence Two EP ordered from the Critical store. Over the course of the last few years Critical Music has become without doubt one of the few 'buy on site' labels that exist in drum & bass today. Always one step ahead of the pack led by the inimitable Kasra, it continues to build release after release, now acting as an exclusive home to Enei and Foreign Concept. Here we're treated to the second installment of the 'Sequence' series and as you can imagine it's everything you'd expect; strap yourselves in - incoming audio inside! First up Shogun's Spectrasoul are given the keys to 'No Fear', Enei's huge track released last year on his 'Stonehead EP'. Turning the original bouncing vibes into an even more dangerous piece of D&B is what the duo have done, bringing smashing breaks and some grizzly-arse bass into the mix to create one of their darkest productions to date. Crazy good. Kasra then teams up with longtime friend and compadre Cyantific for 'Minerva' a frenetic but brooding slice of tech-noir drum & bass. Full-on rolling b-lines and even a little mentasm absolutely kill it, smacking drums and off-key fx keep this one properly twisted. Next up it's the turn of Foreign Concept and new face in the scene, Xtrah. 'Harsh Reality' is exactly that with the sound-off vocal and police sirens signaling the drop into a stripped down groove, oozing class and soul. Finishing up is another Critical collaboration between Kasra and Enei, this time opting for the cinematic sounds of 'So Real'. Drone bass runs the roll here with snapping percussion, female vox and pads all combining for a piece of music with real depth and integrity. A very polished, mature way to end yet another first class release from the Critical camp.

Error Broadcast released Monolithiums' debut 12" 'Simon & G-Funk' in Summer 2011 to much critical acclaim. Back then, his mixture of footwork drummings, complex track arrangement and flawless pop was an important step for us to advance from the beat music continuum and found its logical extrapolation in releases with B-Ju, H-SIK, and OL most recently. After touring the US Westcoast and a busy summer, we are delighted to welcome the Vancouver-based producer and DJ back with his 12" EP 'Bounce 4 Life'.
'Bounce 4 Life' finds Monolithium offering the perfect mixture of club-ready footwork snare rolls and low-swung hip hop bass, a glossy get-together of pitched vocals and super-melodic synth chords. Lead single 'Bounce 4 Life' is an undestroyable hymn that we've been rinsing all summer long (and from the DJ support it's safe to say we're not the only ones). The back-stabbing 'Lancashire Hammer' slows down the dance to rap tempi, while 'Pavillionaire' (featuring Prison Garde) joins boogie with high-pitched vocal samples and sickly-sweet synthesizer arpeggios. On 'Spiral Face' and 'Sleepy Beauty', Monolithium takes a slightly more ambient and elegiac approach to footwork, with the former paying clever tribute to the Amen break and the later focussing on melodic sophistication a bit more.

Coming early december on limited edition vinyl and digital formats, Prestige Music is proud to announce the release of PM009. Jessie Wijers, 'Switch' hails from the Netherlands and will seldom resurface to bless the world of drum and bass with his amazing production. We are now fortunate enough to feature these sublime compositions on our label effort and to announce the addition of Switch to the Prestige Music Group roster of artists.

I have been working on those tracks after my To The Threshold Album, some of the tunes was in the process already while i did the previous album. You can expect from this release hard Drum & Bass tunes, again i have been trying to do my best on all of those tunes! And possibly best sounding as i can, as sometimes it was not easy at all to do the right sound. I added on this release also one more experimental kind of Drum & Bass, 4/4 track, would not say its a Crossbreed one, then Electro remix from my side project Pornothrasher, as i enjoy to do Electro too as many of you know. I asked MC Coppa to record for me vocals for the track that is on the EP, and need to say im really happy with the result, not the heaviest DNB track, but rolls really good and hard enough to kick your ass! The rest is my solo i would say pure Hard Drum & Bass tracks, how i like to produce and to play! I hope you enjoy this release, again i tested it at gigs, and the tunes just went greatly, some of them some of you asked on the net already. Thank you so much, and buy the vinyl to keep them alive. release date is 10th of December, 4 tunes on vinyl and 4 tunes as digital extra bonus tracks - if you buy the vinyl EP you get with it unique code where you can download the digital release of FSRECS 008 with the extra 4 digital only tracks, two weeks as usual the tunes on digital shops.

After nearly a decade of releasing some of the most hard-hitting and progressive Drum&Bass tunes, we've finally put together a sick collection of killer tracks to bring you a long awaited album, that represent the Sinuous Records label.

This special album is gonna blow your mind away. It features some of our best existing producers and also introduces some fresh & unknown artists with exceptional talent from around the world.

The compilation wholly defines the Neurofunk/Techstep characteristics distinctive to the style we've been building on these past few years. It is designed to give something special to our fans and supporters in one tidy package!

On this new album we'll deliver a solid blend of dark and heavy dancefloor smashers,
serious tech steppers, roaring rollers and even some more deep and emotive laid back tracks,
which are equally heavily bass-laced.

The album illustrates a consistent theme of reverberating basslines, yet each track has its own individual style, be it glitchy, techy, melodic, atmospheric or even disjointed experimental beats, making this a no nonsense LP.

ardcore legend DJ Ruffneck debutes with a brandnew album on his own imprint. That hardcore and drum'n bass mix very well is already prooved by labels like PRSPCT, ONE SEVEN FIVE and UNION. Some even have an own new name put to the genre, crossbreed is born.
This double 12" album feat. collaberations from artists from both genres and is an absolute must for all the crossbreed fans. On top of it it comes with a cd including more unique material in one blistering albumpack!

Sunny Crimea heads up this first Influenza Media vinyl release since the label's relaunch. Summer vibes, happy sounds and clean production on this one.

On the A side 'Stay With Me' is all about creating a mellow mood: soothing chords, lovely xylofone samples and a slap bass all blend together perfectly into a well crafted liquid roller.

On the flipside 'Aint No Game' takes things up a notch. The funky guitar riff over a well found bass melody makes this track a little slice of heaven, add the beautifull vocal snippets of the 1979 disco track 'Love Thang' by 'First Choice' and you've got the perfect ingredients to a gorgeous 12''. A must have for all those who like their beats with a bit of soul.

BRAND NEW REMIXES OF THE MASSIVE GOLD DUST FROM VENT & A VERY SPECIAL UNRELEASED VIP MIX FORM DJ FRESH HIMSELF

BIG BUD returns once again with another album. His fifth on SOUNdTRAX and eighth album overall..No big name guests on this project , just a few talented musicians that BUD has met on his travels. Kicking off proceedings with his trademark , atmospheric style , the album quickly moves on into dubwise riddims then a couple of stripped down , minimal pieces. Dropping a soulful , house groove and then the album winds down with a couple of dUb workouts and ends on an 8 minute piece of ambient music , a song
written as a lullaby for his baby daughter , little bUd no.3
"Again, much like my last album, there's no overall concept to this project. It's really just a collection of music and influences that I'm into right now... On my last tour of Australia I spent a lot of time with the FOREIGN DUB crew, from Sydney, a talented bunch of
musicians, artistes and DJs... So I managed to get a couple of recording sessions in with a horn section and on another project I recorded an amazing Sitar player."
BIG BUD has been travelling the World constantly and testing out the new material. From big festivals in Australia, Bosnia, Sardinia, to small clubs in Kosovo, the reactions have been good... For someone who has a chronic fear of flying, he certainly clocks up the
airmiles.
"Yea, had some amazing experiences since the last album. Played quite a few big festivals which are always special but i still think
you can't beat a smaller, dark club with the crowd right in your face and a room full of energy. Altho I think when it comes to vibe and
atmosphere, you can't beat the SUN'n'BASS festival in Sardinia. I was lucky enough to play the closing party again this year ,"
The album will be released on his own label, SOUNdTRAX, which is celbrating it's 10th anniversary this year. Coming up to it's 50th
release, the label has established a reputation of introducing new talent to the scene.
"I only realised recently that the label is 10 years old. I was looking for an old release and noticed on Discogs that it came out in 2002!
So, yea, 10 long years, but they've flown by. I know it's not one of the biggest labels on the scene but it has it's place as a label who
loves to find promising new talent from around the World and give them a chance to get heard. If you look back thru the back cat,
you'll see a lot of names who are doing pretty well for themselves now. Obvioulsy Im not saying it's because of SOUNdTRAX but it
definitely helped them on their way. And that's something I'm very proud of. It feels good to contribute to the scene in this way."
There is an album launch party planned in London on Nov.1st. which will also be streamed 'live' on BASSDRIVE radio, the biggest online dNb station..

Having spent more than seventeen cross-genre years featuring on dance music's most prestigious imprints, Blu Mar Ten are opening the doors of their own label to a host of fresh young talent emerging from the leftfield of Drum & Bass and beyond.
Blu Mar Ten Music (BMTM) is a home for the beautiful and the ugly, the elegant and the awkward, the euphoric and the melancholy. With a growing list of talent delivering a rollercoaster of emotions and armed with a desire to stand out rather than fit in, BMTM is
rapidly becoming a label to watch.
The third release in this new chapter is bought to us by rapidly ascending drum & bass star, Ed:it.
Having already featured on Critical Records and gathering support from S.P.Y., Bailey, Spectrasoul, Break, Enei, Kasra, Skeptical and
many more, Ed:it's gritty and elegant sound mainlines the warehouse soul of classic d&b, serving it up in impeccably sculpted slices. Ed:it debuts on BMTM with three moody & militant circuit-blowers.
Shutter:Rushing sweeps of white noise and modulated synths give advance warning of the tsunami of bass washes to come. With its raw energy and perfectly balanced production, Shutter drops a relentless, military-grade groove that's impossible to ignore.
Repercussions (feat Aldo):
Reminiscent of early TeeBee productions and with a sprinkling of Metalheadz magic, Repercussions finds a subtlety often lacking in tech-driven dancefloor tracks. Where Shutter opts for wide-screen dramatics, Repercussions gets up-close and personal, whispering
threats in your ear rather than shouting them across the room. Audio intimidation at its best.
Echo:Shades of Goldie's classic 'Terminator' saturate Echo's intro before dropping into what can only be described as 'pure' drum & bass. Oozing bass slides and metallic stabs underpin skittering drums & percussion, conjuring up that long lost pre-'EDM' warehouse atmosphere. Echo is an anthem for dancefloors where sweat drips from the ceiling and no one knows the name of the tunes.
