Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

After taking Drum & Bass, and indeed the entire electronic music scene by storm last year with the genre bending 'Marka' on Exit
Records, the power duo of Dub Phizix & Skeptical have been kept busy taking their unique hybrid sound on the road with DJ
appearances all over the world. Musically, there have been follow ups from both parties, but now Samurai Music presents the full
follow up single to 'Marka' from the duo with 2 vocal dancefloor weapons laced again by talented Manchester MC's. 'Run It Like The
President' is a stepping slab of menace that T Man laces with his unique monotone delivery, a tune that is already spawning bootleg
like a virus before any release was in sight. 'Half Man' takes slices of Dancehall, Hip Hop, Drum N Bass, covers them with an
infectious Sparkz rhyme and churns them out over a staggering triplet rhythm set to confuse DJ's but ignite dancefloors. Kept tight t
our chests until now, this 12' is set to explode across radio waves and DJ playlists the world over. 'Run It!'

Those of you who've been paying attention will know that Program is the brand new label from the Ram Records camp. Celebrating a landmark tenth release, Biscuit Factory Records brings two absolute stompers. The A side is Creature, a LAXX and Farkas collaboration. On the flip LAXX and Soap Dodgers team up with Hi Rolla.
Creature is a 4x4 combo with a smooth hypnotic vocal that drops into a heavy bassed, techy roller. The Biscuit Factory is set to full speed on this one with industrial synths and weighty stabs crashing over the raw upfront bassline.
Hi Roller is a dance floor club smasher. Dark robotic basslines and pure weight make this a perfect flip to Creature. The low sub bassline and hard punchy drums combine with light melodies in the breakdown to make a track that turns speakers inside out and shreds clubs to pieces.Creature and Hi Rolla have been a staple in Walsh's sets over the last few months, destroying raves across Europe. Huge support also coming from N Type on his weekly Rinse FM Wheel and Deal Records show, Hatcha (KISS FM, Sin City Recs) and Skream and
Benga (BBC Radio 1).

Gregory Isaacs, Reggae superstar, has left an unrivaled legacy. Report, taken from our Gregory Isaacs remix album, is yet another
testament to that. Curtis Lynch boosts this bassline driven track to the max, as Gregory enquires of his lady's whereabouts the
previous evening. Marcus visionary once again takes the reigns for the dnb mix.

6 years ago, Misanthrop & Aqua Luminus III. released the "Leinwand EP" on Audiac Records (an early subdivision of Equinox Records) as a 10inch picture disc. With their new collaborative offering, under the self-explanatory title "6 Years Later EP", the two producers combine once again. The formula for their music has stayed the same: heavy beats, alongside raw cuts and samples blended together to create another banging electronic Hip-Hop release. However, it also offers some surprising new sounds as well as astonishing guest features: Underground hip hop legend 2Mex (Visionaries, SonGodSons), Fake Four's very own Ceschi and UK rapper James P Honey provide superb lyrics and flows on "20 Stories Later", the only non-instrumental track on the release. Additionally, the German turntablism legend DJ Stylewarz is cutting on "The 1 Billion Euro Song" alongside Munich's DJ icon Al Rock. Another skillful and mightily talented turntablist, SNTC, provides the scratching on "57 Bars Ahead".
The "6 Years Later EP" features six tracks as well as two bonus tracks on the digital release. A definite sureshot in every record collection, refined with a fresh cover provided by The Raincoatman, the EP is released on July 20 as a limited edition 10inch.

grimey funk. the Upbeats only continue to go from strength to strength, constantly changing the international drum and bass game as

Opening track 'Simple Words' unfurls majestically with its crisp, swaggering 2-step beat and the beguiling, echo-laden vocals of Lady Katee that will no doubt see the future garage scene sit up and take notice of this exciting new label.
'Palms' is a blissfully melancholic chorus of intermingling synths, cavernous sub-bass and Chicago footwork revivalist drum patterning that exhibits Hatti Vatti's impressive knack for creating magnificent retrospective futurism.
Stepping up on remix duties, the ever in demand ASC maintains the brooding, sentimental ethos of the original, replacing its high-octane kick drums with his own unique brand of delicate and off-kilter percussion, further confirming that everything this unparalleled producer touches turns to gold. limited clear vinyl pressing.

As anyone who's been paying attention will know, Wilkinson's rise to fame has been prolific. With a succession of incredible tracks, collaborations and remixes, this talented producer has proven he can cut it at the very top of the drum & bass game. Tracks like 'Moonwalker' and last year's anthem 'Every Time' have tipped him as one of the hottest properties around, while remixes for the likes of Nero, Chase & Status and Jess Mills have only cemented that reputation. With his latest single 'Automatic' / 'Hands Up!' Wilkinson continues that undeniable run of success with yet another floor-shaking, sweat-inducing pair of dance floor fillers. These ones are undoubtedly going to cause havoc this summer!

CASPA's influence on the bass/dubstep scene is profound. His musical progression has marked him out as a key proponent in spearheading the sound internationally and the USA in particular.
As well as releasing his 2009 album 'Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening', CASPA runs three labels (Storming Productions, Dub Police and Sub Soldiers) producing dancefloor bomb after bomb, tours around the world, and hosts a bi-monthly night at the world famous Fabric nightclub (he recently played back to back with confirmed fan Skrillex). His remix skills are in higher demand than ever, remixing for the likes of deadmau5, Miike Snow, Swedish House Mafia, Depeche Mode, Katy B and most recently a killer remix for Plan B's 'Ill Manors'.

On the A side we have a track from 2 guys who surely need no introduction! Here they both inject some real soul into the intro right
from the word go on "Lastik" and its done in such a way that takes us back to Dillinja's early soulful offerings on Deadly vinyl / Logic
productions back in the early 90's, the track then progresses on and kicks into a cut-throat and insanely well produced drum & low
end work out. If this number doesn't make your head nod vigorously surely nothing will!
On the AA side Halogenix; quickly after appearing on Dispatch with his superb track 'Laika' jumps on Dispatch's sister label Dispatch
LTD with another blinder in the form of "Raya"; its a very technical rolling bit of production with a dash of oriental soundscapes
thrown into the mix to give the track an eerie feel before slamming in on the drop some pure reecy sub warmth and insanely tight
drums.

Harder, faster, more guitars, more growls. Whourkr is Igorrr's metal alter-ego, and '4247 Snare Drums' is this act's third full length album. The product of a painstakingly long recording process by two musicians who are already seen as some of the hardest-working perfectionist in the scene, it is also a towering culmination of extreme metal run through equations, growls laid down mathematically, and guitars calculated for maximum efficiency. Polymorphous, violent, absurd but also extremely detailled, here comes the deadliest, ugliest and most precise sow-metal you could imagine.limited clear vinyl 2x12"

This August Blu Mar Ten releases the third and final episode of a three-part series of remixes
from their album 'Love is the Devil'. Part Three features reworkings from BCee and Sunchase

Cardinals / District (W/ Photon) is the debut 12 for Overlook on Horizons Music, following up his track 'Mirrors' which was released on the Internal Affairs 2 CD back in December. 'Cardinals' shows Overlook's skills in making bass-heavy minimal tracks. This one hits hard with pounding drums and a bassline hard enough to test any club system.

FREAK is a dark minimal roller with stabbing bass and light percussion destined to be a floor filler.
DARK AGE is T>I's effort alongside fellow bassman Dominator. Again the mood is deep and dark and the vibe extremely catchy, as we drift through a series of amen breaks and drumrolls punctuated by a heavy bassline.

Inception: Audio's goal is to alter the perceptions of what electronic music can be. Gathering the unique talents of underground artists from the darkest corners of the globe, we aim to create experimental, challenging and alien soundscapes that are truly not of this planet.

With Chris.Su, Mindscape, Jade and the rest of the crew, the Hungarians are already firm on the world of drum n bass map. Now we can add Incident to the list of hot talent!

Moving On;
Languid tones , layered percussion this introduces a heavenly female vocal drifting upon a bumping 175 rhythmic undercarriage, with growling echoing and reverb atmosphere bed to form the perfect backdrop to the lyrical sentiment delivered in a resigned yet accepting manner.

Soap Dodgers long awaited Unleashed EP, featuring tracks battered by N-Type Youngsta, Hatcha, Dismantle, MistaJam and Tubby Newham Generals.Unleashed: Unleash the beast! Skanking dark half stepper with the energy to match any tear out tune. Bassline is raw and twisted, dark and industrial. This track is thick with sub, but spacious following the code of the original dubstep sound.Waterlanding: This track was championed by Youngsta late last year. Future dub technologies, skanking reggae dub style with a 2012 twisted bass and 808s.Strobes: Catering for the more jump up side, this is the lighter side of the E.P, as its title suggests, rave driven glitchy, hard and furious. Reminiscent of Benga and The Others.Twister: Euphoric build ups, industrial filtered bass, and a sample that spells it all out; Twisted! A favourite with N-Type & Walsh.

Blah Blah Blah are having a bit of a break through year with sets at Glade & EXIT Festival confirmed, and their labels most recent release from Blacksmif gathering support from a number of respected sources, among which Disclosure, South London Ordnance, BrEaCh, Mary Anne Hobbs, Laurent Garnier, Audiojack, XLR8R, and Beatportal can now be considered keen listeners. Their 5th release looks set to further establish the labels growing reputation with 2 tracks of deep techno inspired house from 17 yr old music enthusiast Alfie. Born in the village of Oxted, home to a number of electronic dignitaries, Alfie has been raised on a balanced diet of Garage, Dubstep, Jungle, DNB, and Hip Hop which he has further infused with his personal love for old school Ska and Jazz. Taking key elements from each of these styles Alfies music is deftly relevant in your ear and on the floor. Lead track Uncomfortably Numb is a high energy throbbing slice of techno laced deep house, with a reverberating bassline driving an almost industrial main hook, whilst layers of clinical percussion and pads snap and swirl throughout the mix. About Midday punches through the enveloping gloom with an inescapable rave inspired main hook which intensifies the tracks pulsating wall of manufactured sounds. Having already played at Fabric aged 16 and with a number of shows pencilled for 2012, including his Glade debut and Eastern Electrics festival, this double a-side is set to eclipse the work of a number of his more senior peers.
