This one takes it back to the early Jungle Techno days. As the track says, 'Murder dem from early'. Salute!

The ninth release from Mute and Mako's Utopia Music imprint comes from Fields. Fields - BTC: If there was ever a tune that was a genetic hybrid of Konflict and Dub Phizix, this is it. Bleeps, bass, and the delicious combination of woody yet weighty snares and tight percussion. Fields - Elemental: Warm, pacy, electro dnb, done the Fields way, which as far as Utopia and a growing number of fans are concerned, is very much the right way. With support already from John B, Kasra, Spectrasoul.

Producing deep, techy Drum & Bass at a level like Future Signal does is no mean feat, and it's not mere kindness to say that the UK collective has been working hard on this release for IM:LTD, perfecting each track until it reaches their very exacting standards. On the A side, 'Claymore' bursts out immediatly with the sort of dark rolling paranoia that Future Signal have long been applaud for. Sharp whips of synth crack through the deep rumbling bass like a beast being roused from a deep sleep and flashes of light come from the cuttingly crisp snares keeping up that momentum.

Drum & Bass Remix current Necessary Mayhem big reggae tune by Tippa Irie Dancehall Style gets the treatment from Digital Soundboy's Marcus Visionary. DJ Frisk hailing from Liverpool deals with Necessary Mayhem Classic Police In Helicopter by Million Stylez produced by Frisk.

Straying away from their more familiar cutting-edge Drum & Bass landscape, IM:Ltd are taking to pastures new with their latest offspring from the somewhat uninhibited and off-kilter Quentin Hiatus. With a deep sun-dappled atmosphere, mixing old-school house vibes and snappy hooks with a dirty south laidback feel, the 'Different Strokes EP' might be another mellow and melodic release but it's not going to blend into the background. Showing a real sense of movement and progression, this EP surely deserves a full play through as each track unravels in its own time, and fits together in order like an audio jigsaw puzzle. Comfortingly criss-crossed between genres, 'Serena' smoothly tips this release over the edge almost immediately when the delicious sound of old school House
ripples through. Chilled but somehow lively, 'Ascendamental Drop' is a warm haze of synthy mirages bubbling over a more solidly recognisable dubstep beat.
On the B side, far dubbier, far creepier, you will find Stunna's take on 'Different Strokes' who turns the original into a classy cinematic urban reggae dub piece.
Babylon fighter style... live and direct from Chicago (!).
Digital Only Track - As a conclusion, the original mix of 'Different Strokes' is a drumstep track filled with toweringly eerie sounds and textures, all culminating in a bass music world unlike so many others.

This July Blu Mar Ten releases the second in a three-part series of remixes from their album 'Love is the Devil'. The Beginning (Joe
Syntax remix) - Rising star of Med School Music, Joe Syntax, channels the spirit of 90s Bristol and transforms 'The Beginning' from
its original esoteric moodiness into a militant bassline stepper that recalls the high points of V Recordings and Full Cycle. Metronomic
pulses and vocal samples lead up to an almighty analogue bassline guaranteed to do the required damage to any club. Truly, 'High
Tech Soul'. Blue Skies (Unquote remix) - Joe Syntax's Med School brother-in-arms, Unquote, tackles the frenetic percussion and
dense sound design of the original 'Blue Skies' head-on, stripping it down and folding it back in to itself in a bleak, rain-filled dub
workout. Fragments of the original can be heard in the far distance, pitched down, chopped up and smothered in static while a river
of deeper-than-deep basslines carry lo-fi vocal chops, dubbed out instrumentation and rusty drums in its current. BMT008 will be
available as a strictly limited 12' pressing together with mp3s. This will be a single-run only with no repressings. Full sleeve artwork

Pedestrian's take on Mountains pt 1 is simply breath taking; swapping the pummelling techno beats of the original and pumping it full
of tough garage swagger, whilst maintaining the smokey textures of the original. This is so ridiculously in demand, we've never been
to a club and NOT heard this wheeled! The 2nd drop is something to wait for.... it's XXX large!
Fresh from his awesome Darlene, Please 12' in March, Tesslea gives the anthemic Turiya a new direction by building on the classic
garage vibe of the original with an even more classic rave influence, guiding the euphoric vocal across a tougher hardcore continuum,
like SL2 cross bred with El-B. Thus, completing a 12' that we hope will stay in many a DJ box/ Serato file for a while.
And finally, we are delighted to present the highly respected artist Will Barras as responsible for the fine artwork for this release. We
wanted to build on and reference the previous Djrum artwork from Matt Taylor, and Will took it down a darker bovine strand,
depicting a gothic afterlife where the army of the apocalypse ride skull headed beasts through the desolate wastes of the
world.

It's no surprise to anyone who heard 'The Touch' last year that Mortem has swiftly become one of
drum and bass' most wanted new stars. His fresh take on slick, weighty bass and scatty, flickering
snares makes a good swathe of the deep, brooding DnB community back up against the wall.
This time, releasing 'Revolta' on Demand, Mortem seems to be doing his own mini tour of the most
highly-regarded labels in Europe, and he doesn't disappoint. 'Revolta' is a mercenary tune, rolling
out smooth over scattered breaks, lashing out then reigning back, never letting its guard down.

Stray & Halogenix have got together on the well established label, Warm Communications to present some pure drum & bass finery.
Both tunes have a much darker feel, especially 'Poison' which combines staggered bass jabs with rolling subs and distorted vocals.
The outcome is a jittery dance floor smasher that will trip out even the most avid dark and underground d&b fans. 'The Pursuit' has
been engineered by Stray individually, and this riddim similarly encapsulates the industrial sinister sound Warm Comms. are

One of the shining lights of the noughties' liquid-funk boom, Luke Wilson's much envied library of rare soul samples continues to earn him legions of international fans and a unique perch in the d'n'b galaxy.
True to his defiantly old-skool production ethic, album number three is awash with the dusky sax trills, lilting piano rolls and shuffling breaks that have become his smile-inducing signature - a trove of unvarnished rollers entirely devoid of mechanoid modern gloss or studio gimmicks. You'll also find sassy reggae-flecked funk ('The Warning' feat. David Boomah) and loping 150bpm breakbeat grooves ('Infinity'), but it's the tear-jerking brilliance of mournful piano gems like 'Loops for Days' that do it for us. Get those jazz-hands ready, people - summer has officially arrived. 9/10
