Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

The next installment on Invisible Recordings features tracks by Cause for Concern, Zero T & FD, Sabre, Stray & Halogenyx and a remix of 'Floating Zero' by Icicle.

The A side of this release sees DBR get militant in the form of 'Fortress VIP' a minimal beast of a track that's receiving a serious amount of support throughout the scene. We're also please to present the original version as a digital exclusive. The flip sees Ukranian NickBee unleash 'Carpe Diem' and its a slate of futuristic spaced out D & B that displays just how talented this guy is to the full, definitely an artist to watch out for with material on the way also for Noisia's 'Invisible' label.Current club and radio support from the likes of: DJ Storm, Calyx, Spectrasoul, Ulterior Motive, Doc Scott, A Sides, Seba, Loxy, Nymfo, Skeptical, BTK, Ant TC1, Survival, Sabre, Octane & DLR, Stray, Dub Phizix & Sunchase.

On the A side of 'Dispatch 48 we have 2 producers who need no introduction with a track that seems to set the screwface look going on any dancefloor it drops in on. This is clearly another studio pairing that really hits it off in the at the controls and needless to say on top of this track we present you right here there will be more superb music forthcoming from these 2 on the label in the future - this we promise. Please play extremely loud. Expertly mastered at 'Exhale Audio' LTD. The flip sees Survival go solo with a track that really sounds unique and to be pretty honest we're finding it hard to describe, however its definitely containing his signature bass and synth sounds put to great effect. Put simply its a stepping number with a sub bass on the drop that is more than lethal to say the least. Support in the clubs and on radio from the likes of: Ant TC1, Break, Cern, Nymfo, Calyx, Anile, Chris SU, Octane & DLR, Sabre, Amoss, Siren, Vicious Circle, Dabs, BluMarTen, Subterra & Xtrah.

Moving up and moving on is the ever on point Modulations imprint, part of the formidable Critical Music empire. This time Kasra hauls in a duo familiar to most, a duo who've been a staple part of the D&B world for the best part of the last decade; step forward Bristol's D*Minds. 'Sub Crate' intros delicately with dark pads and a stripped back break that prep us for the badman steppa that's about to take flight. Drop dread bass is it what it's all about as D*Minds take us back in time to the early Full Cycle days with heavy kicks, reverse FX and a punching b-line that doesn't give up. Dangerous without a doubt! Drawing yet again from their heavy west country influence 'Stone River' flows nervously through a windswept cityscape with syncopated breaks, slow-rise bass and percussion fills that keep things moving in an otherwise fairly minimal slice of D*Minds artillery. Great to hear Critical bringing out something a little different from these guys.

Exit Records Presents 'Mosaic Vol 1' Sampler 2. With so much good music arriving in the Exit inbox it was decided that a various artist project was needed to ensure that it all sees the light of day and doesn't get caught up in a never ending schedule of singles. As normal with Exit Records, there's no prejudice in the track selection. Well known producers such as Skream, Instra:mental, Scuba and Commix rub shoulders with some inspiring new talents such as Indigo, Synkro, Mode and Code 3. The theme of the album is quality timeless music, whether it be a dance floor killer such as Systems 'Observation Point' or Loxy and Resounds 'Vertigo' through to the tangerine dreamlike sounds of Croms Invisible Cities' or Stray's 'Pushed', this album truly represents the more experimental side of Drum and Bass as opposed to the crash bang wollop which seems to be the only side of Drum and Bass portrayed by the mainstream media today. Hopefully this album will manage to reach the people that thought this forward thinking music was left behind in the nineties and let them know that it's still alive and well and still capable of throwing up some surprising and unpredictable results.

A great addition to the hard drum'n bass scene Triple Vision is known for. COOH made a very special EP for the Russian connection. Moscow and Vtakt both getting great response and all fans will recognise straight away from podcasts and dj-sets when checked.

Mystifications track Crackup was one was the most popular Hardline in recent times. This jaw dropping
VIP remix takes no prisoners, its a real lesson in brutality! Stormtrooper providing the track for the flip side, a
man who, as you'll see below, is featuring heavily on Hardline this time round!

Nasca Records is another Austrian label currently riding high on the current wave of hi-energy drum and bass that's sweeping across the whole scene right now. For their fifth release label owners Body and Soul have locked horns with fellow countrymen Camo and Krooked and come up with something simply epic!

Solid white Vinyl. I'm honoured to announce the first UK based act is releasing on Secret operations. The duo has been working on music for some time now, but it wasn't until recently it caught my attention. Mr Joseph is running his night 'Fizzy' in London, and had some recent releases out making his name recognised in the drum & bass scene.A. Call To Arms Call to arms is a heavy breaks based track, with nice ethereal strings. The track starts with a nice string intro and female vocal samples, and then explodes in a shuffled breakbeat, reese-bass inferno.AA. Trash Talk This track is a bit different for secret operations, but it has a feel that i think is suitable for the label. The track starts with a static beat and a nice chord, then it switches to growling bassline and subtle but effective percussion.

There not much D&B around these days can come close to the sheer force of a Dom and Roland record. As one of the pioneers of the tech-step genre Dom & Roland is well known for his cinematic otherworldly soundscapes, teamed with dancefloor pounding rhythms. Dom continues his passion for pushing the boundaries of sonic manipilation with this sixth studio album, 'The Big Bang'. Real deal D&B.

Oh. My. Gosh. Critical come to conquer with this absolutely dangerous 4-tracker courtesy of Russia's Enei; a name becoming more familiar by the day as one of the most talented and most exciting new school producers in the game. Snapped up by the ever on point label master Kasra, this EP only makes the prospect of the debut Enei album even more tantalizing. The title track 'Stone Head' is a bulldozer of a tune that comes complete with the Andy C seal of approval. A stepper's paradise with rich kicks and a body-slamming, rolling b-line that'll send shockwaves through any club. Serious is an understatement! Next up Enei hooks up with vocalist Riya for a proper techy bounder 'No Fear' with its undulating bassline that bounces hard taking no prisoners as it moves. The wrecking-ball of the bunch. Moving on and the mood changes slightly to the more flowing sounds of 'Movin' Fast'; a naughty, gnarly slice of heavyweight D&B with large feedback-infused bass and sick amen edits that keeps things lively. Wait for the breakdown and switch up though for the killer blow! Then finishing things off in fine style is the heavily hammered Jubei remix of Enei, Eastcolors & Noel's hit from earlier in the year 'Cracker'. Keeping the seedy original vibe alive, Jubei goes in deep and comes out the other side with another toughslab of speaker freaker bass and beats. Awesome.

Equinox again delves into his archives to find more 8-bit Amiga Amen pressure, this time bringing the jungle pressure with vintage soundclash samples and killer edits on Let The Tune Play. The flip sees Nebula's Jah Lightning going deep and moody, channelling days gone by. Extremely limited edition, blue translucent vinyl.

b Nebula - Jah Lightning

Equinox unlocks another hidden gem from the archives, this time heading into atmospheric territory with his trademark deep blines and crazy Amen slicing on Thoughts Of Tomorrow. Nebula also charts atmospheric waters with the goosebump-inducing Crystls. Extremely limited edition, crystal clear vinyl.

b Nebula - Crystls

Smokesceen is the new label to come from the G13 camp. Kicking things off in a big way they've drafted in Harvest, probably the most talked about artist in the DnB scene at the moment, expect to see his name everywhere soon. Plasta on the other side finishes off a wicked 12" for a first release.

Second release on secret operations this year is by Seba & Finnish Producer and DJ Physics. Before I can breathe is a beatiful vocal piece with a steppy beat and a typical old skool reese bass. The flipside The Music is a heavier track that starts off with eeire strings and switches to heavily distorted beats and basslines. Watch out for secops 017 by Andyskopes & Mr. Joseph.
