Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

Nymfo has been smashing up the scene as of late with releases on legendary labels such as 31, C.I.A., Ram, and Commercial Suicide. He's also been busy DJing the globe making appearances at some of the world's most renown nightclubs including Fabric, Matter, and his own Red Zone. Proton Pack: Nymfo teams up with New Zealand's own Cern for the a side 'Proton Pack'. For anyone following Project 51 for the last 7 years this tune screams undeniable 51 funk. Off the Radar: This dropping bass line roller shows off Nymfo's mastery of the low end. A sick minimal warehouse vibe that stands true to the pure sound of drum n' bass. Look out for the next 2 parts of Reboot the System, featuring Prolix, Audio, Blockhead, and the Upbeats. Also, look out for Cern's debut album on Project Fifty-One coming this summer.

DJ support from Friction, Icicle, Alix Perez, SpectraSoul, Ulterior Motive & more.

art 2 of the Vinyl Eps' featuring tracks taken from their debut album, 'Broken Silence', on their own Siren Records has been doing damage on the DJ circuit for some time now. Tracks such as 'Gumball Rally' and 'Broken Silence' have been staples in the sets of everyone from Andy C to DJ Marky to Fabio and Chase and Status, as well as the new breed of artist producers such as S.P.Y, Spor and Jubei. Over the last 10 years Universal Project are responsible for hits such as 'Vessel' on the Virus imprint, 'Haunted Dreams' on their own label Universal Project and an EP on DJ Hype's True Playaz, as well as 'Streetilfe' with DJ Friction for Advanced Recordings and many Renegade Hardware smashers such as 'Danger Chamber', 'Comin' Thru' and the Black Techno EP. The Universal Project sound is B-Boy breaks with techno elements and dubwise bass, and everything in between. Vicious Circle broke through in 2005 with their monster remix of Universal Project's 'Jackhammer' and have been destroying dancefloors ever since with their unique sound. Releases such as 'Between the Lines' and the 'Welcome to Shanktown' EP on Renegade Hardware pushed them to the forefront of the tech dnb scene. Subsequent releases on Digital Soundboy, Critical and Quarantine displayed a diverse style that has helped establish them as heavy hitters across the board whilst collaborations with high profile artists such as Chase & Status, Dom & Roland, Fierce and most recently Jubei clearly demonstrate the respect they command from their peers. After spending a lot of time in the studio together Vice and Ruxspin decided to create a new guise for their own brand of rolling future funk. Siren is the result. Both artists in their own right have toured the world from the farthest reaches of Europe to the United States and Asia, consistently destroying dancefloors and gaining a reputation as masters of their craft. The aim of this duo is to cover all styles within the scene and not be constrained by subgenres, whilst still maintaining a dancefloor ethos which is true to their UK roots.

the heavy breakbeat version of this prodigy classic!!!

This is the third release for D Kill on his own imprint and this ones a stomper. It'll have the ravers bouncing off the ceilings with the clown step beats and analogue square wave bass.

D1 has once again come up with the goods, and delivered two brilliant old skool-influenced dancefloor tracks. 'Flood Of Emotions' featuring renowned vocalist Jenna G, showcases D1's trademark melodic sensibility, while maintaining the tough drums and pure bass pressure that makes UK bass music so exciting and impactful. Driven by a classic hardcore break, the track penetrates right through you while the uplifting melody, complimented by Jenna's vocals, washes over you beautifully. 'Bleeps To Broadway' takes similar rave influences, this time moulding them around tough, stripped down drums and futuristic bleeps. 'Bleeps To Broadway' is also accompanied by the 130 mix, which opens up the track, slowing the groove down and giving it some extra room to breathe.D1 was one of the earliest proponents of the emerging dubstep sound, and has remained one of the scene's most creative and exciting producers ever since. Responsible for a number of seminal dubstep tracks, he has been a long-time Dub Police affiliate and has had support from all of the biggest players in the scene, also releasing tracks on esteemed labels like Tempa, Soulja and Dub Files. He continues to push his sound forward and evolve with each and every release, and never fails to surprise! Judging on the pure quality of these tracks, 2011 is set to be a big year for D1...

'The Departure' throws away the now standard build, drop, build, drop breakdown structure of drum and bass to create an intense rolling soundscape of claustrophobic out of control intensity. Not for the faint hearted or the casual listener, this is true genre pushing madness at its best. Flip it over and 'The Arrival' manages to subtly straddle the divide between influence and invention to produce a track that will find fans both within and outside of drum and bass.

This is the first album Oscar Mulero has released under his own name, after two acclaimed LPs under the moniker Trolley Route. Well known for his skills as a hard-edged, raw and floor-orientated techno dj, his productions go far beyond, digging deep into the intricate landscape of intelligent techno, floating moods, reminiscent atmospheres, harmony and detail.

Panik and Yox return with another slice of modern day jump up. The French duo have had a constent string of releases on the Drum Orange imprint and once you've heard this you'll understand why.

Liverpool's finest scally, Futurebound, snaps up two rinsing dancefloor numbers from Australian ShockOne for his Viper imprint. 'The Calling' is a cunning concoction of crunching beats and rib crushing bass all topped off with some syncopated synth action. On the flip you get a male vocalled piece with plenty of punch for the floor.

For their tenth release Viper has pulled in a lethal 12' from Sigma. Following the massive releases of 'All Blue & El Presidente' on Bingo and last years 'Masai' & 'Livewire' On Charge recordings which set them on the road to success, Viper has selected two prime cuts of Drum & Bass Beef.. 'And it's all fillet baby'. Kicking off on the A-side with 'Hi top' and Sigma show us exactly why their name is regarded as one of the hottest new D&B acts of recent times.

Three of the biggest names in D&B join forces for Teebee's Subitles label.

Nphonix is celebrated as a paragon of stylistic diversity, constant progression and engineering craftsmanship amongst producers and listeners alike, with a sound and discography spanning everything from drum 'n bass to hard techno.

When 'Bang Bang' first came out it turned XS records of Reading from a small respected underground to the label behind one of the biggest sellers of 2006. Now, 4 years later, a remix is well over due and who better than Ganja/Playaz hard hitter Sub Zero to re-arrange this one. It rocks, simple as, the original is on the flip for those that have battered their copy beyond recognition.

Encompassing that unmistakable BSE sound throughout, 'Lights And Wires' is an accomplished piece of work that simultaneously brings together ten years of drum and bass production while exploring new musical ground. Tracks like 'Extraction' and 'Kempi' are vintage Black Sun Empire. Rough, rugged and raw, fans of intense Drum and Bass will not be disappointed. This four track EP highlights the biggest and best of the LP.

For the fourth release on Lethal Records, DJ Cabbie steps up with this monster of a tune, Deep kicks and snappy snares come together to create a back bone for the Heavy bass to kick in on the drop. Cabbie knows his frequencies because the sub on this tune will blow you away. Flip the 12'' over and you'll be treated to 'The Master'. This track destroys the dancefloor so make sure you get on this release.

Detail 004 is a solo venture from label boss Lynx, showing the more dj/ club orientated sound of Detail Recordings. The A side,Chess Funk, has been on the circuit for sometime being supported by Fabio (Radio 1), Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Bailey (1Xtra), Spy, Artificial Intelligence and many more, plus is featured on Marky's forthcoming Fabric Live Cd. The track has all the suspense of Bob Jame's music or a score from a Bond Movie, with rising crescendos and brass stabs that also wouldn't sound out of place in Steve Mcqueens Bullit. The Foundry takes a much slower brooding approach, still with a cinematic feel using ethnic vibes in the intro, dropping into a devastatingly sluggish beat and bass combo that swamps any club with huge, warm, yet slightly unnerving bass.

DJ support: Andy C, High Contrast, London Elektricity, Logistics Cyantific has been laying down his signature space-age sound since 2002 when Hospital Records embraced him into their family after a tipoff from High Contrast. Ever since then we have seen Jon go from strength to strength, with his achievements like BBC 1Xtra Breakthrough DJ award to his international tours and infamous 3-deck DJ sets. Cyantific launched his own label last year with the beautiful hit Brighter Day (ft Logistics) and 88mph. The New Year sees the labels second release, which is nothing short of futuristic perfection. OBEYs sublime production and lively Back To The Future vibes make this tune an overwhelmingly enjoyable dancefloor record. OBEY is an unconventional roller but needless to say sheer genius with an immaculately produced video to accompany it. Continuing on with his innovative sound is Bounce It on the flip side with high-energy danceability, accompanied by its entertaining electronic vocals. Cyantific first release of 2011 is setting the standards for an extremely big year, watch out for more releases coming soon as well as DJ sets around the globe.

If almost any other production outfit in drum and bass had made 'Shoreless' is would be their Number one release of the year. It is testament to Camo and Krooked and to Viper Recordings that this is but the third track on this insanely strong EP. Classic sounding vocals underpinning filtered daft punk style disco chords in a track which absolutely screams rewind. Peak set smile inducing good times all wrapped up in sub bass growls that only the biggest systems will
