Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

As we approach spring, the seasonal turn brings with it an uplifting release set to be essential listening for all the eardrums still recovering from the dance-floor damage committed in the darker months. This release hails from Seba and Paradox, no strangers to the d&b circuit, as Critical Music outputs two stunning tracks prepping us for the warm sun-shining days to soon come. Courtesy of Kirsty Hawkshaw, 'The Light's beautiful vocals soothe away those frostbitten blues from former months; they swathe around blissful old-school piano keys, breaking through layers and rising over irresistibly smooth drum patterns. A deep bass-lineunexpectedly makes an appearance, underlining the evocative summertime goodness - with this aurally euphoric track you can almost taste the blue skies. Seba and Paradox dig deep underground and unleash the dirt on the flip with a jungle-tech tour de force in the shape of 'As If'. An ominous intro erupts into coarse drum patterns, enveloped by dirty bass that's just downright mean. A straight-up dance-floor box-ticker, this is a track of volcanic proportions. Beware the explosion!

Translation Recordings is proud to unveil the first pairing of tunes from debut LP/compilation 'Without Borders.' Rinsed by DJs to include Grooverider, Anile, Sinistarr, and Stunna, 'Denile' is a collaboration between Canada-based artists Grimm & Nusense. The duo deliver a stripped-back and cavernous steppa, with deep low-end rumble, acid squelches, and reverberated dubstyle chords. The flip welcomes the return of Translation veteran and Finnish dnb all-star Resound in the futuristic sounds of 'A Chain of Red,' where floating synth pads weave through a crunchy, 8-bit tone sequence. Spliced drum edits at the drop quickly change the uplifting opening vibe into a more sinister and moody one that is charged by an electrified synth bass wall. Meanwhile, a combination of congas, snares, and hi-hats punch in and out of the mix to give this monster of a tune its staccato percussive core. These dancefloororiented tracks represent only a small sliver of the spectrum and vibe covered by the 'Without Borders' LP/compilation, which will be available in the coming weeks on CD & digital download featuring exclusives from Solar Empire, ASC, Mindmapper, DBR (UK), Marginal, Dub Phizix, Edward Oberon, Stranjah, Theory, Slider, and Expose. Keep it locked!
