Airhead continues to impress and confound with his run of releases on R&S. His last release 'Wait/South Congress' found itself gaining praise right across the board. It showcased his atmospheric guitar styles as well as his deft programming skills, resulting in some trying to pigeon-hole his sound in a post rock/electronica direction. This EP proves it not that easy to pin him down with two new tracks of fresh club music. Pyramid Lake again showcases his expert manipulation of samples, but this time weaves them into a drunken dance groove, full of whirring percussion and heavy bass. Black Ink is a bubbling, percussive roller that in the hands of a lesser producer would sound like a traincrash. 2010 with a split cassette release and a 7-inch on Transparent containing 'Yr Love,' which was carried over to
his debut ep 'With U', released through Robin Carolan's Tri Angle imprint.^

Lunar Disko Records presents its first LP from Dutch artist VC-118A. Constructed in the north of Holland, 'International Airlines' explores the artists concept of aircrafts through emotive soundscapes, brooding over an array of analytic drum programming. Each track levitates the listener to another atmosphere - never attached to geographical locations or time. Gravitating from beginning to end, 'International Airlines' displays the artists focus on his subject - an air flight through different colours of sound.

This recording contains 7 remixes by Mark Fell of the first three 12' singles released on the record label Sensate Focus in 2012. These were called '10', '5' and '3.3...'. The first of these, '10', was itself a reworking of materials from an earlier project by Fell and Terre Thaemlitz, released on Comatonse Recordings in 2012. The 7 remixes were written and recorded in June 2012 at the Upper Lounge, Chatham Street (UK) using a MacBook Pro running Digital Performer, FM8 (featuring manipulated DX100 and TX81Z presets), Battery and Razor; monitored and mixed with Sennheiser HD 25 headphones. Here hand claps are constructed from the Roland TR707 clap, two copies of which are detuned and panned hard left and right, with an additional Yamaha RX11 Clap 2 panned centrally; kick drums have been constructed with the Roland TR707 Kick 1 pitched up with bass content attenuated, overdubbed with samples from vinyl derived, it is assumed, from the Roland TR909. Two hi hats are used: the Yamaha RX11 Closed Hat 1, and a sample from Bassmental's '2 Daye Revisit (Kerri Chandler remix)', released on Nite Grooves, 1994. Recommended contextual materials include: 'Can You Feel It (Dubby Dub Marc Kinchen remix)' by Chez Damier, released on KMS, 1992; 'Hard To Get' by Choo Ables, released on E-SA records, 1993.
Additional DJ notes for playback synchronisation: Track 1 has a tempo of 137 beats per minute with a rhythmic loop of 30 units each lasting 109.49 milliseconds. Track 2, 126 bpm with 31 units each lasting 119.05ms. Track 3, 113 bpm with 17 units each lasting 88.5ms. Track 4, 128 bpm with 60 units each lasting 117.19ms, with inserted pauses of between 4 and 80 units. Track 5, 128 bpm with 16 units each lasting 117.19ms. Track 6, 128 bpm with 64 units each lasting 117.19ms. Track 7, 125 bpm with 31 units each lasting 120ms.

From the strobing synth arcs and cosmic-pulse of opener 'Cloud Hall' to the narcotic, dubwise-nod of album closer 'Travellers Of Faith', Cruise Forever represents an innovative, exhilarating ride, loaded with twists, turns and trips from the 'floor to the comedown. The claustrophobic Chi-town melancholy of 'The Groove', the hard-Brum-meets-Berghain techno of 'The Beast' and the massive nine-minute vocal rush of 'Shut In' are where the dance-floor moments collide: raw, expressive, euphoric moments in the Sun and the Dark.
Then we shift toward stranger more insular climes... A fractured middle-east sampledelia, 'Peralta Palace', lonely walks through the gloaming 'Forest Forever' and 'Mountain Ascension' then soaring climbs into clipped, watery electronics, 'In The Depths...' Absent from this side of the Channel for far too long, London/Paris/Brighton-based collective ARCHIVE return with the epic and beautiful With Us Until You're Dead. The album, produced by longtime collaborator Jerome Devoise, will be released on the band's own Dangervisit Records via Cooperative Music on 27th August 2012.
Part-orchestral, part-electronic, part-soulful, part-progressive and wholly emotion-soaked and cinematic, the album touches tangents with Massive Attack, Radiohead, The Aloof, UNKLE and Secret Machines, with four dynamic singers fronting a restlessly inventive landscape constructed by Archive's long-standing core of Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths.
Archive's dark and dramatic 1996 debut Londinium was a recognised trip-hop classic but the band's fortunes over the last 15 years have taken a strange turn. Third album You All Look The Same To Me and 2004's Noise made them superstars across Europe when Warner France signed them. But while Archive would routinely sell out venues such as Paris' Zenith Arena (tantamount to selling out Alexandra Palace here), contractual problems meant none of these albums received a UK release, and Archive remained a hidden treasure in their own backyard.
Until now. With a new record deal, With Us Until You're Dead has a UK release and the band couldn't be happier. 'It's great to be a big band all over Europe and we don't take it for granted, but we're a UK act, and we want to be successful here too,' says Keeler. This Autumn will see Archive embark on an extensive European tour that includes two nights at the Zenith in Paris on 16/17th November before ending in Prague in early December. A London headline show will be announced soon.
First taster from the album comes in the form of the 'Wiped Out / Violently EP' released on July 2nd. Featuring remixes from the likes of Man Without Country, Sei A and Rosko John, the EP will be released on 12" and download formats. 'Violently' comes with a suitably dark promo video directed by legendary graphic designer Brian Cannon who created album covers for Oasis and The Verve.

Blackest Ever Black is releasing the first ever vinyl edition of Gareth Williams and Mary Currie's Flaming Tunes.
This remarkable album was recorded at DDM and Cold Storage in London after Williams had left This Heat and returned from the
first of several trips to India. It was officially released on cassette in 1985, before being bootlegged on CD more than a decade later.
The bootleg in question, the Japan-issued After The Heat, described the Flaming Tunes pieces as "This Heat's final demo
recordings", much to Gareth's understandable dismay - after all, the album marked a conscious attempt to create a music
with a different mood and texture to that of This Heat, one which would allow the full expression of his eclectic
and distinctive tastes.

Almost two years after his stunning debut album release, John Roberts is back with a wonderful journey into sounddesign, sample research and contemporary club music.

Dual Capacity is the first collaborative EP by London based artist Shelley Parker and curator and electronic musician Paul Purgas. The duo have presented performances at galleries, festivals and art fairs and the release represents their first officially recorded output. Dual Capacity was recorded from a series of live improvised sessions continuing their enquiry into the relationship between old and new media, hypnotic sonics and the accidental and emergent qualities of improvised performance. The project acts as a meeting point for Parker's background working with sound installation and digital technology alongside Purgas' exploration of customised hardware and analogue modes of production.
Across the three tracks Dual Capacity explores the potential for dense rigid percussive structures to operate as a framework for non-grid based electronics. The recordings investigate aspects of texture and tonality alongside primordial and ritualistic approaches to sound and the continued influence of bass driven production. The material reflects the energy and immersive tension of their live performances acknowledging influences such as minimal avant techno, abstract drone and industrial noise.
Released on July 9th 2012 Dual Capacity is the fifth release on the London based experimental electronics label We Can Elude Control founded in 2008 by Paul Purgas, one half of Emptyset, as a means of expanding dialogues between contemporary art, sound and experimental electronic music.

The deeply biographical nature of the recordings is further heightened by the fact that his music has drawn its inspiration directly from his surroundings. If Increases documented his journey from Newcastle to London, Increases II is record of Archer having found a new home in Brixton - from the slow burning ebb and flow of cinematic opener 'Three Years, to the desolate urban balladry of Bruised (courtesy of guest vocalist Tamara Quaddoumi), to the sublime, horn-led beauty of taster track Lean Over (which you can stream now) - the six track EP reflects and refracts the rhythms of the city he now calls home.

Rome's Egisto Sopor has been making little waves with his releases for quite a while now. As Polysick he's released a CDr album on Legowelt's Strange Life Records and a cassette on the much admired 100% Silk label. As TheAwayTeam he's released a DVD 'Relax & Sleep' and a CD 'Star Kinship' on Japanese label Maomoo, and is also one half of the low key video unit AAVV, whose work has graced many of the important releases of the new lo-fi electronic movement. 'Digital Native' is his first proper album, 15 tracks of glowing, nocturnal, analogue grace that hark back to acid house and early techno, but with a mood and intent that seem to be designed for watching images dance on closed eyelids. It's no surprise that his work as a video artist resonates so strongly with the music he makes. Polysick says of his approach, "When I make music I always have a visual part in mind. In this case, many of the tracks have been influenced by visions of tribal nocturnal mysterious explorations like in 'Preda' which is the Italian word for "quarry". I tried to convey a sense of mystery and danger with those swirling flutes and the timpani rolls too, like if you were in the middle of a jungle, in a deep dark night and you're running away through the trees, haunted, like in some of those old zombie splatter movies from the '80s.. same with 'Tic-Tac Toe', with that clock ticking and the deep bass..." Polysick has tapped straight into the synthetic pleasures of early dance music's otherworldly pulses, the hypnotic arpeggios of Italo disco, soaring Detroit chords, cosmic disco, the '4th World' music of Jon Hassell and the library exotics of Piero Umiliani. Imagine a nexus between early acid house and Italo music being used for mental therapy, exotic travelling and imagining, exciting the brain waves and journeying into imagined spaces; 'Digital Native' is set in such an imagined line of enquiry - this is body music for the resting body.
