avantgardistische Visionen besonders gut. Neuestes Beispiel:Neustadt - ein 2010 gegründetes Duo bestehend aus Mirko Podkowik und Lukas Heerich. Live erschaffen Neustadt unvorhersehbare Konzertinstallationen, die nichts mit einem klassischen Bandkonzert gemein haben. Podkowik realisiert das Visuelle. Heerich liefert den Sound und die Performance - treibend, industriell und zeitgemäß. Das Künstler-Duo versteht sich als gemeinsamer Arbeitskreis und das Projekt Neustadt als eine Ästhetik, die eine Weltanschauung sichtbar machen soll. Die konkrete Ausformung ist die Momentaufnahme eines gemeinsamen konzeptionellen Prozesses. Ein Prozess, der sich nie offenlegt sondern in seiner unmittelbaren Wucht der Eindrücke entlädt. 2010 veröffentlichten sie ihre Debüt LP - Drohgebärden' als eine auf 300 Stück limitierte Vinyledition über das Düsseldorfer Label Themes For Great Cities und Slowboy. For our first release in 2013, we welcome our first Italian artist on Correspondant: Crono. 'Palazzo D'Inverno' takes reference to the official residence of the Tzar, that was built by the Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. It is an
enigmatic arpeggiated trip that carries us into the utopian landscapes of long-forgotten sounds and imageries. It is an epic track of nostalgique elegance. Its elevating sounds and melodic composition make it the perfect soundtrack for a Fantastic movie scene. Fairmont, long time friend and one of our favorite producers (who also just released his highly praised
album "Automaton" on the canadian imprint My Favorite Robot), twists the original track into a futuristic and psychedelic journey by adding spacey keyboards and an obsessive bassline.
Crono's second track on the EP, 'Doppio Sogno', is a pure bass driven track that portraits the literary subject of Arthur Schnitzle's Traumnovelle. It takes us into the deepness and the mysterious wideness of the unconsciousness. Providing space of mind it keeps up a keen melodic structure. In his version of the track, parisian 'Get The Curse' star Clement Meyer, strips it down: slow. dirty, vicious are the new dancefloor rules! And it works!

Unlike some ambient music, Loyal, Jakub Alexander's
release under the Heathered Pearls moniker, embraces the
idea of melody with understated but distinct sounds
emerging from the loops Alexander uses to construct his
tracks. "I wanted to find a world that was built on repetition,
erosion and melody because making these songs was
about recreating soothing environments."
The album's roots lie in a very utilitarian idea: "I started
writing what now has become Loyal as a mental break from
my personal anxieties," Alexander says. A study in the
hypnotic, calming qualities of music, Loyal is also a tribute
to Alexander's mother and Aunt (featured on the cover)
who were crucial in instilling the taste and aesthetics so
key to his music. "My mom introduced me to my first
ambient record over 10 years ago. Loyal is a response to
this."
This is a record that's full of delicate beauty. It embraces
fragility and lightness, sounding entirely natural despite
being created electronically. Tracks ebb and flow into the
mix and the songs themselves wash into your headphones
like waves receding slowly into silence. The music is
unabashedly beautiful with gentle currents of low level
tones and gleaming sparkles of synth loops that build and
decay.

Emerging from the endless summers of Venice, California to team up with Shlohmo, Jonwayne, D33J, RL Grime and more to form the Wedidit crew, Jasper Patterson aka Groundislava has transformed from bashful video gamer to full-fledged composer. Groundislava has roots that draw from '80s nostalgia, TV and pop culture that grow and transform into the 21st Century aesthetic of electronic music. Recently tapped for official remixes of Slugabed and Shlohmo as well as Kutmah's Brownswood compilation, Groundislava returns with the 'Feel Me' LP, the follow-up full-length to his self-titled 2011 debut. A mature step for the artist, 'Feel Me' showcases Groundislava's unique sensibilities for developing sweeping soundscapes, luscious backdrops and somber tracks in a distinct sound all his own. The subdued groove and melancholic melodies of tracks like 'Suicide Mission' featuring ghostly vocals from Baths and 'Bottle Service' featuring Shlohmo balance the big room dynamics and technicolor soundscape of tracks like 'Olympia 2011' and the bass heavy boom of 'Cool Party'. On others, like 'TV Dream' featuring the enigmatic Clive Tanaka, Groundislava composes an ebullient ode to a friendship's inception, soaking it in summery vibes and phantom playfulness.

SASTE004 is the fourth release in the Stellate Series: sounds gathered from the experimental frontiers and outer edges of electronic music. For each Stellate Series release two tracks are created by four different producers. Collected together here are eight tracks from the periphery of electronic music.
Stellate 4 brings together the visions of L.B. Dub Corp, Dscrd, Sendai and James Ruskin. The tracks stem from the most disparate sources and are products of incomparable processes, yet, all four outfits have created music brimming with questions about spatial relationships. The eight tracks emerge as part-soundscapes, part-structures with which to explore our darkest selves and our deepest questioning.
L.B. Dub Corp opens Stellate 4 with 'Choctaw Dub'. With this reference to the Choctaw Native Americans the track situates itself at the point of friction between ancient wisdom and the realities of modern western living. Within this enormous cavern 'Choctaw Dub' commands a huge architectural space where heady, ecstatic noise whirls in the distance, syncopated claves chatter in the mid-ground and strange echoes reverberate in between. Shifting the frame of reference 'Indulgent Dub' is a futuristic moonscape. Dusty beds and pads are interrupted by clangs that tone out of turn, but not out of place.
French five piece Dscrd put their many hands to work and 'Aedificare' and 'Interitum' emerged. Constructed with great arcs and drops that lead to sonic corridors 'Aedificare', the Latin for building, establishing, creating, is the perfect title. Process is also highlighted with 'Interitum' where repeating phrases lead the listener through odd structures and along paths that are at once familiar and undefined. Skilfully sound-designed it is just as easy to get lost in 'Interitum's details as it is in the grandiose scope of what Dscrd have created.
From ten hands to four: Sendai is the collaboration between Peter Van Hoesen and Yves De Mey. 'Without the Written Word (Part 1)' and 'Without the Written Word (Part 2)' are fortified with bone-chilling menace. Having dispensed with the written word, all other forms of communication step into the fore: you can't consult your notes anymore, they're gone. What you've got are your ears and what they get is a vicious assault. Part 1 is an angular meeting of high-pitched shrills and synthesized screeches. Part 2 is a slab of drone slashed with noise and gnarling bass.
James Ruskin takes care of the final side of Stellate 4 and contrasts the brutalist structures created by Sendai with tracks that channel wide-open spaces and glacial planes. 'Cabin Fever' is created with a very refined palette of compressed sounds that unfold with slow precision. 'Cast Down' closes the record on a sumptuous note. 'Cast Down' is composed of stunning melodies are looped and layered. This is a track to get lost it. It's a track to dance alone to. It's a seven minute journey that, by the very same token, is mournful and utterly ecstatic.
The Stellate Series is boxed exquisitely in a round metallic tin which contains two clear 10" vinyls. Each vinyl is separated by a typographic print on recycled paper. The Stellate releases also contain a hand-numbered artwork inlay by Oblivious Artefacts. The entire artwork comprises of four parts which are divided between Stellate 1 through to Stellate 4. Additionally each release contains a unique card with a download code. Each Stellate release is a strictly limited edition of 300. Simon12345 & The Lazer twins is a band, they play instruments, everything on this record is played. They also play concerts. The record was recorded in a few weeks in northern denmark, but the postproduction and arrangements took over one and a half year after the intial recording process.

'III' will receive a global release on November 5th and is the first of Crystal Castles full-lengths to be produced entirely by Ethan Kath.
"We wanted the new album to sound like a completely different and new experience," says Ethan Kath in an official statement 'We'd limit ourselves to one take on each song because we believe the first take is the rawest expression of an idea."
By ditching their old synthesizers and keyboards used on I and II, Ethan enforced a 'strictly no computers' rule in the studio and began recording everything directly to tape. Together the Canadian duo has conjured up a collection of songs that are as raw as they are well rounded. As 'III' unfolds, each track will take you to greater heights and equal lows, as you enter the sometimes plagued, and often polarized world that is Crystal Castles.
"Oppression is a theme, in general... A lot of bad things have happened to people close to me since II and it's profoundly influenced my writing as I've realized there will never be justice for them," explains Alice "I didn't think I could lose faith in humanity any more than I already had, but after witnessing some things, it feels like the world is a dystopia where victims don't get justice and corruption prevails.'
Recorded mostly in Warsaw and Berlin, the highly anticipated 'III' also boasts the haunting and euphoric 5-minute mind-bender 'PLAGUE', that quickly caused a cyber-storm amongst fans and media when the band unveiled it via their soundcloud page this summer.
Since then, Ethan and Alice have been surprising fans across Europe by randomly dropping exclusive tracks from 'III' into their live-set, revealing yet another layer of III to the world.
Crystal Castles will be playing a select number of UK tour dates in November - see below.

Aleph, Russian youngster, Ivan Erofeev, who has travelled form Siberia via Omsk to St. Petersburg delivers a fab EP moving between styles. It's a bit house, some boogie flares, it's crooked as a hoop but for most fresh. Aleph released on the great Canadian label King Deluxe two acclaimed digital EP's with a big remix from Distal on the last one.

Tiefe Bass-Woofer-Tracks jenseits von Becks, Apps und Katzengejammer: Joney, das Hamburger Wunderkind zwischen Dubpfanne und Sprung in der Schüssel zeigt mit seinem Trackdebüt "Oh Alright", dass Hamburg in Sachen Dubstep mittlerweile in der Champions-League spielt. Carsten "Mampf" Meyer (besser bekannt als der Bernhardiner Erobique) und Chiwawa Viktor "Fettuccini" Marek zeigen auf der B-Seite eine Art Schmatz-Dub aus der Magengrube. Die Sounds wurden mit einem Stethoskop direkt in den Sampler geladen und mit Panflöte und Deephouse-Vocals gelüftet. Das Passepartout für beide Stücke liefert die in Rumänien lebende, bildende Künstlerin und Sound-Installateurin L.C. Recorded in Syracuse, New York, this recording captures the room-filling complex overtones generated by the ever-shifting interplay of the breathing horns and the constant electronic drone. Roll the Dice's Peder Mannerfelt presents a new 12" for the London based electronics label We Can Elude Control. The release brings together a collection of percussive modular synth and noise experiments recorded live in his Stockholm studio with the release exposing Mannerfelt's wider sonic interests and improvised approach outside of the production work he is more readily known for through projects such as Roll the Dice, Fever Ray and the Subliminal Kid.

With his last record for Local Action picked up by Radiohead's Tom Yorke. This year started with a bang as Throwing Snow dropped the first XLR8R Podcast of 2012. Here we see his much aticipated first release for his imprint Snowfall including a remix return favour from Ghostly's Gold Panda. With a follow up due in the fall, live support slots for Daedelus and Bonobo and recent acceptance into RBMA New York this will signify a defining year for the burgeoning producer.

"Output" defines analog modular sound designs with hypnotic beat structures. Like all productions of LIN/LOG organic electronic music is the main focus. His compositions defy conventional genre barriers and leave room for reflection and interpretation. But LIN/LOG is also a young micro label for modular sound designs.

'Quarter Turns Over A Living Line' is the long awaited debut album by Raime. It follows the
duo's self-titled 2010 EP and two subsequent 12" singles, 'If Anywhere was here we would know where we are' and 'Hennail'.
Moving away from the sample-based strategies that characterised their early work, Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead have
looked increasingly to live instrumentation for their first full-length work, mounting intensive recording sessions for percussion,
guitar and strings before painstakingly piecing the album together at their home studio. The gothic and industrial signifiers in
their music remain, but more submerged and oblique than ever - no less pronounced as influences than jungle's rhythmic
dynamism and doom metal's oppressive weight or aspects of techno, modern composition and dub. Quarter Turns Over A
Living Line is the first original artist LP on Blackest Ever Black, the young London-based label that has to date released
records by Tropic of Cancer, Regis, Black Rain, Pete Swanson, Cut Hands and others.

TM404 is a new concept from analogue mastermind Andreas Tilliander aka Mokira (Kontra-Musik, Raster-Noton, Type). TM404 uses a multiple set up of the classic Roland machines TB-303, TB-606 and MC-202 to create a mesmerizing acidic techno-drone. TM404 will release a full-length album on Kontra-Musik in late January and we are very much looking forward. But before that we have another great release to present. Kontra-Musik 028 is by far our most radical release on so far. This is dance music really pushed the limit. What you are about to hear is the result of Morphosis (Morphine Records) remixing TM404 using his favorite Korg machines the MS20 and the SQ10. The Confusional Quartet are Enrico Serotti, Gianni Cuoghi, Lucio Ardito and Marco Bertoni, a four piece experimental band with new wave, avant-garde and post rock influences who have been recording since the late 70s. Having first released their debut album more than three decades ago, they now return with a new,
eponymously entitled full length on Hell Yeah recordings, and accompanied by fabolous artwork by Andrea Amaducci. One of the most recognized Italian bands in the so-called new wave era, the energetic group were never afraid of pioneering new sounds and performing energetic shows (often called the italian Devo), and this new album suggests they have lost
none of their edge having reformed just last year. Across the course of the 11 tracks, the band explores the fusion between synthetic sounds and real drums; fizzing guitar lines and plenty of feedback. It's funky, raw and looks to many different eras and genres all at the same time. The opener 'FuturFunk' (co-written and co-produced with Sir Bob Rifo of The Bloody Beetroots) is just that, dazzling and arresting as it goes.Elsewhere, high energy, dense and gauzy songs like 'Kursaal' rage
and writhe as drums cut in and out and guitars get worked to the max. It's a captivating performance from the Turkish singer whose unique style might be placed somewhere between traditional soul and the studied remove of the likes of Broadcast's Trish Keenan. If there's poignancy in her delivery, there is hope in the lyrics: it's a song about the calm and freedom felt by lovers after they split. With The Amateur View, To Rococo Rot leaves behind their many fumbling colleagues in the field of post-rock/post-techno to set upon a course of their own, a lush vision of listener electronica. Though the occasional angular guitar repetition is a clear nod to the influence of Tortoise, the trio construct tracks with reams of vintage electronics and a few acoustic instruments, assembling complex songs on a production line of sorts with a variety of simplistic parts. Highlights "Telema" (the single) and "A Little Asphalt Here and There" are bursting tone-capsules of warm laidback electro-funk, far less focused on the angular abstractions of previous TRR material. Although it's still leagues away from the electronic dance mainstream (or even the electronic listening mainstream), The Amateur View offers an intriguing glimpse at the future of home techno.

Though they quickly traded the warm electronic pop of The Amateur View for a colder vision of primitivist synth pop and atmospheric noise, To Rococo Rot proved with Music Is a Hungry Ghost that they're still at the top of their game artistically. Though they occasionally reference some familiar forms -- swirling ambient noise reminiscent of Oval as well as the angular, downtempo indie rock often found on Tortoise records -- the trio (plus guest I-Sound) clearly has a knack for creating music that's understated yet deeply felt. "First" frames a few beautiful, atmospheric chords around downtempo heart-monitor beats, while "Pantone" transforms a series of compact disc errors into surprisingly lush trance-state ambience. Two of the highlights are "From Dream to Daylight" and "Along the Route," a pair of Tortoise-styled tracks featuring another guest, violinist Alexander Balanescu, merging contemporary classical into experimental techno.
