New Jersey born Clyde Kingrap (aka The Real Fake MC) is probably the freakiest MC on earth. His Flow is definitely influenced by old-school Hip-Hop masters, but The Real Fake MC declares that his major influence remain in P-Funk, Gogo and early Punk Rock.
For more than 15 years he's been grabbing mics and spreading funky vibes on stage & in collabs all around the world. His two 12 out on Favorite Recordings, Live & Survive & Hunt Ya Sunshine, and his 1st LP Rock It Up were produced by French producer Patchworks aka Mr President.
These two musicians have been dropping some tracks together for more than a decade, with always the same target: educate their love for Hip-Hop with jokin lyrics and Funk inspired beats played live with instruments.

Bellwoods is a collection of beats created during a one year stay in Toronto, Canada. Sourcing the core of it's sound from folk records, Bellwoods is, for the most part a collection of experimental beats that fall somewhere between ambient and more hip hop informed sample music. Although firmly belonging to neither, this music will be of interest to those who enjoy nostalgic soundscapes and heavy kicks.

Splendor & Misery is an Afrofuturist, dystopian concept album that follows the sole survivor of a slave uprising on an interstellar cargo ship, and the onboard computer that falls in love with him. Thinking he is alone and lost in space, the character discovers music in the ship's shuddering hull and chirping instrument panels. William and Jonathan's tracks draw an imaginary sonic map of the ship's decks, hallways, and quarters, while Daveed's lyrics ride the rhythms produced by its engines and machinery. In a reversal of H.P. Lovecraft's concept of cosmic insignificance, the character finds relief in learning that humanity is of no consequence to the vast, uncaring universe. It turns out, pulling the rug out from under anthropocentrism is only horrifying to those who thought they were the center of everything to begin with. Ultimately, The character decides to pilot his ship into the unknown—and possibly into oblivion—instead of continuing on to worlds whose systems of governance and economy have violently oppressed him.

Flying Lotus' freewheeling is of course, ultimately scribbled in the shorthand of a universal language—hip-hop. Douglass' preoccupation with rhythm, however, fixates on the oddities—the mutations, the dualities and instances of bare collision. His hoarded beats are gleaned from a whirlwind of origins—West London broken beat, the East Coast's '90s house, '40s jazz, indigenous African and Latin rhythms—but they're deployed concurrently and unexpectedly, with cross-beats and displacement used as accents in his own pidgin dialect.

FloFilz is one of the most promising newcomers on the German beatmaker scene. His sound is deeply rooted in the Low End Theory (Tribe not LA) school of beats and his tracks regularly hit the six-digit plays mark on Soundcloud. FloFilz grew up in Belgium and lives currently in Aachen where his studies violin. When it comes to his own beats, jazz reigns supreme over nearly any other music. - Metronom' is his first official album and we are delighted to release it on Melting Pot Music. Our art director and photographer Robert Winter was so inspired by the 18 tracks that he took a trip to Paris together with FloFilz, where he shot the cover photos. "The Sit-In" is the new album by Twit-One from Cologne. It is quite different to his previous works but Twit's music has never been easy to predict. Der Musiker und Produzent James Dewitt Yancey erlangte als Jay Dee und später J Dilla enorme Popularität in der Hip-Hop-Szene. Er verstarb am 10. Er machte seinen Job als Executive Producer so gut, dass "The Shining" allseits als "echtes" und qualitativ hochwertiges Dilla-Album geschätzt wird. Ein Grund dafür ist sicherlich dem Umstand geschuldet, dass neben Riggins selbst mit Busta Rhymes, Madlib, Pharoahe Monch, Common, Guilty Simpson, D'Angelo, MED, Dwele und Black Thought eine ganze Reihe hochkarätiger Gaststars zum Mikro greifen. On the making and meaning of 'Cloak', Rakei says:

"It was close to midnight. I found myself silently standing on a beach in Piha, staring at the stars. I'd never seen the stars like that before. There was a stillness and oneness that resonated with me. I finally came to terms with the insignificance of "us" and set myself on a quest of self-discovery through music and meditation. It was a war against my pre-conditioned mind, but one I was willing to fight.
I, like many others, was enslaved by reactionary thought and emotional cause. I lived life through the projection of my ego. My ego would feed off negative emotions, public perception, expectation and a need to be somewhere I wasn't. It was through a conversation I had with myself, where I realised I had an ability to control it. This opened my mind to the concept of duality and my second self.

There is a deep space within us, usually cloaked by our emotions. A stillness. The more we delve, the faster we can re-wire our mind and un-learn all that we have been force fed. Shed your Cloak."

After the release of his critically acclaimed 2014 sophomore EP, Groove Curse, Rakei left Brisbane for the UK. He soon caught the attention of perennial UK electronic chart-toppers, Disclosure and Sam Smith, further growing his fan base and reputation as a talent on the rise. His co-written track Masterpiece' went on to close Disclosure's Grammy-Nominated sophomore album, Caracal, alongside featured artists NAO, Gregory Porter, Miguel, The Weeknd and Lorde.

No, there are no piano exercises on the new EP. Player Piano is a Vonnegutian reference to the old school way/beat of things. Borka sticks to his distinctive style - simple head nod beats without trendy production tricks, just the decades old technique of stealing, sampling, chopping and gluing. It is hard to believe that Player Piano is only the sophomore EP by the label's head tastemaker. And it is even harder to understand that it has been more than four years since his still very popular What Sticks. Between the two EPs Borka has kept himself busy octopus style: playing records, promoting club nights, running a label, working on two radio stations, writing as a music journalist and having a band.

Nas' I AM was his third studio album release and proved his reputation of one hip-hop's leading rappers. Tempe is an electronic music producer from London, currently based in Colombia, who produces songs influenced by classic hip hop, trends in UK bass culture, and vintage music from around the world - especially jazz, soul and reggae.

Tempe is fascinated by the spoken word, pairing his music with words inspired by poetry. 0026 and The Phantom first teamed up on the infamous 'I'm not a Weakling' by Dynametrix in 1991, released on Kold Sweat Records. This ground breaking record had both MC's adopt a complex style of rhyming rare in the UK Hip Hop scene at the time.
This duo, alongside producer and MC, Ace Shazamme, continued their quest against lyrically challenged MC's with subsequent releases in 1991; 'This Ones 4 U' EP and again in 1994, with the 'Measure of Force' LP.
Twenty Five years later 0026 and The Phantom returns with producer/MC Tom Dice, with 'Make a Move on 'Em'. This 10 track gritty and often surreal LP displays their continued growth and maturity in an ever changing musical landscape. The duo remain focused in their quest with an abstract, direct and often humorous commentary on modern day dystopia. There will only be 300 of these LPS available for sale, so make a move on them.

Outspoken and sharp, Trim's introspectively sinister delivery weaves hypnotically between the 1-800 crews' varying soundscapes. Emerging Yorkshire producer Happa - who's stock continues to rise with each release - puts forward a tribal-like march on 'Before I Lied', with Trim eerily advising to 'be careful who you laugh amongst'. Already in circulation, the videogame like progression of 'RPG' seeps with Blake's signature off-kilter soul, feeding the subversive nature that Trim revels in.

Bridging a generational gap between pioneer and a product of the scene, Boothroyd provides two contrasting compositions. Having unveiled a remarkable collaborative EP with London mc Maxta towards the back-end of 2015 on Rinse, Boothroyd blankets psychedelic bursts over one of Trim's calmer deliveries on 'White Room,' whilst 'No Manners' is entrenched with a more visceral, grime rooted layout.
