London old school MC, Cool Cash C appears on vinyl for the first time with two tracks from 1993 and 1999. "Poetry", re-mastered from the 1993 DAT and "The Wheel", produced by DJ Fingers in 1999.

Side A is an audio documentary about the iconic Oxford Street Saturday hangout. Side B is a live session from 1985, with the Mixmasters, Family Quest and Cool Cash C. Includes a double sided A2 folded poster with artwork by The Artful Dodger on one side and "Going Underground

Ghetto Funk emerged from the UK as an online blog and record label in August 2010. The blog and label also played a vital role in the establishment of 'Ghetto Funk' as a genre - a term that would go on to describe this style of mid-tempo breakbeat music with big bad basslines.

In the beginning, Ghetto Funk productions centered around unlicensed sampling to fuel an iconic sound with influences from funk and hip hop. 5 years on and some 20 releases later, Ghetto Funk producers have begun to collaborate with the artists they originally sampled. Impressed with what they were hearing, the original vocalists embraced and wanted to work with producers of the genre to explore and create new sounds.

This 20th release is testament to the creation of music that Ghetto Funk producers would have wanted to sample 5 years ago. Second Hand Audio have forged an EP, collaborating with the likes of Jurassic 5's Akil The MC, Ugly Duckling's Dizzy Dustin, Psycho Les from the Beatnuts as well as showcasing fresh UK talent in the form of Too Many T's and Natty Speaks. The original beats have been crafted by the brainchild of production powerhouse duo: DJP & The Breakbeat Junkie under their collective pseudonym, a duo that separately and now collectively, have been and the forefront of this new sound prior to and since its creation. This EP is a glimpse into the future of a sound and idea that has gone full circle. Original beats and dope original vocals.

"Be Thankful" is the second album by the Swiss producer and musician. A son of a dedicated jazz fan, Melodiessinfonie grows up surrounded by his dad's audiophile record collection. He becomes a drummer and plays in a couple of experimental psych rock bands. 20 years later, he is one of the most promising and challenging producers on the scene. Jazz is definitley the teacher, when it comes to Melodiesinfonie's music and without Dilla he would sound different as well. Which can be said about many beatmakers but doesn't do justice to Melodiesinfonie. He is a free spirit who creates his music unaffected from the boundaries of musical genres and business policies. Musicality, vision and spirituality are the cornerstones on which "Be Thankful" is build. The album features musical friends like Marla, Miles Bonny, Djemeia, Anja Joie, Christian Crow, Nothoya and Wodoo Wolcan. It is also the first kollabo between MPM and Boyoom Connective, the artist collective founded by Meldiesinfonie and Maloon The Boom.

This Instrumental hip-hop 45 is an ode to the love of jazz fusion and that dusty sound with a handful of tracks recorded from 2013/2015. Both of the tracks Love Fusion & Floating were made over the course of three epic days locked in the studio on the MPC 2500.
As Simiah tells it, Diamonds for me was basically the tipping point to where I could rock new grooves. It was like I had made another mistake, but it was a step in the right direction. New chops and new vibes.'

All exchanging scratch hooks between Audessey, Oxygen and UGeorge spitting extra hot 16's over uptempo breaker's beats.

9 REMIXES OF THE SECOND ALBUM "REASON" TRACKS FOR THE 1ST TIME EVER ON VINYL.

"Spiel nicht mit den Schmuddelkindern" heißt ein bekannter Song des Liedermachers Franz-Josef Degenhardt aus dem Jahr 1965. Degenhardt, der Rapper, ist so ein Schmuddelkind. Degenhardt rappt über Dinge, über die man nicht rappt. Es geht um sehr viel Zucker, Psycho, Perversion und Regenbogen. Entscheidend für die Qualität seiner Songs sind nicht Technik und Doppelreimfrequenz sondern Emotion, Sprache und die Geschichte. Seine Geschichte. Ein einflussreicher Rapjournalist, der namentlich nicht genannt werden möchte, hat mal gesagt, aus ihm könne ein "schwarzer Casper" werden.

"Ich bin Ostberliner, ich kann machen, was ich will" rappt Degenhardt. Seine Eltern saßen im Stasiknast. Degenhardt, das Kind, kam zu seiner Oma und später ins Asylantenheim. Degenhardt, das Drogenopfer, arbeitet später selbst in der Klapse. Heute sind die Narben - innen wie außen - größtenteils verheilt, doch Degenhardt bleibt auf der Hut vor seinen Dämonen. Er vergräbt sie in viel zu vielen Filmen, Büchern & Musik. Seine eigene Musik ist seine Reha. Sie ist nicht schön und gibt dir beim Erstkontakt vielleicht ein seltsames Gefühl. Trotzdem bleibt man dran, nicht aus Voyeurismus oder weil Horrorfilme cool sind, sondern weil Degenhardts Lieder so echt und so rücksichtslos ehrlich sind wie kein Deutschrap sonst. Und weil in ihnen eine tiefe Liebe und Romantik wohnt. Kein Witz, Realtalk. Vielleicht ist er auch gar kein Rapper, sondern Singer-Songwriter-MC, Dichter oder Liedermacher. Sehr wahrscheinlich ist ihm das egal und genau deshalb heißt sein Label "Harmonie Hurensohn". "Bei mir ist alles nur Rauschen und Rosa (...) Ich mach immer noch alleine, ich bau immer noch ne Welt, das ist alles was zählt".

Seine Crew "Johnny war ein Tänzer" sowie die Kamikazes & Prezident sind das kleine Umfeld, in dem Degenhardt sich bewegt. Nachdem er seine Musik fünf Jahre lang im Netz verschenkt hat und Fans seine selbst hergestellten CDs nur über seine Facebookseite kaufen konnten, veröffentlicht er mit "Terror 22" sein erstes "richtiges" Album auf LP, CD und digital. Mit freundlicher Unterstützung der Melting Pot Music Group, die zuerst auch ein wenig Angst vor ihm hatten, dann aber von der Liebe und Romantik seiner Songs gecatcht wurden und "Harmonie Hurensohn" logistisch und ideell unter die Arme greifen.

But Deluxe has yet to reinvent itself! As confirmed by the songs « Baby that's you » (with M) and « Seize your day », with new sonorities, radically pop, or « A l'heure oû » (with IAM), the first encounter with french rap ever released by the band! For this new album, Deluxe fulfills a childhood dream: invite some of their favorite artists, the ones who transmitted their love and passion for music! Amongst them, Matthieu Chedid. With poetry reminding us of Paul Eluard, he answers to Liliboy in « Baby that's you ». You can also hear his (oh so recognizable!) majestic guitare solo on « Wait a minute ».
And the celebration doesn't end here: Akhenaton and Shurik'N, from IAM, ingeniously take over « A l'heure oû » to deliver an ode to music, healer of the world's wounds. Finally the warm and strong voice of Nneka sublimes the unleashed instrumentation of « Bonhomme ». Unimaginable and unhoped for, these collaborations honor the six musicians: deeply moving and enriching human encounters!

Conceived in New Jersey from its emerging DIY scene from the late '90s, cult hop-hop trio DÄLEK were known as pioneers over the last fifteen years or so of an intriguing sound which fused a blend of progressive hip-hop artistry supported by a rhythmic backdrop consisting of sonic experimentation through noise music and dark ambient (they would be dubbed by journalists as what would happen when you mix Public Enemy and My Bloody Valentine). Their singularity would be highlighted in four defining milestone full-length albums released on Mike Patton's Ipecac Recordings (one of them being their Absence' masterpiece LP from 2005), along with live actions where the band would support the likes of Tool and The Melvins, and even collaborate with the likes of artists such as Faust. In Spring 2015 mastermind MC Dälek (a.k.a. Will Brooks, with the blessing of ex-member/co-producer Oktopus) revived DÄLEK after a hiatus with a new lineup which now includes DJ rEk and Mike Swarmbots and are now preparing to release their new album Asphalt For Eden' which will be the first official DÄLEK release since their last full-length, 2009's Gutter Tactics'.

Asphalt For Eden' sees a new creative peak for DÄLEK and will bring a new awareness for this cult hip-hop entity now resurrected once again and ready to show a formidable display of true hip hop artistry and experimentation through their new album and the plethora of touring the band have planned in support of it. A band which many see as one of the most genuine underground DIY hip hop iconoclasts.

The Dynamic Corvettes from eastern Maryland released a couple of funk 45's in 1975 on Abet Records, Funky Music Is The Thing was popular with the sample heads and here we feature a nice edit from one of Bristol's finest, Mr. Fantastic, which tastefully splices together both parts of the original 45. On the flip, contains The D.O.C.'s Lend Me An Ear' taken from his classic debut LP No One Can Do It Better' from 1989 and produced by Compton legend Dr. Dre!

Side A features an extended version of The Turtles drum break from 1968 by L.A.'s number 1 Chief Rocca! The original was sampled by BDP in their remix of Steady B's Serious' and features The Blastmaster, KRS-One. This is the 12' Remix which has never before appeared on a 45 so snap it up before it's gone!

Kendrick Lamar has released a surprise eight-track album, Untitled Unmastered, comprising outtakes from the Grammy-winning To Pimp A Butterfly.
Filled with jazz solos and politically-charged lyrics, it appers to be a companion piece to Butterfly, rather than a standalone record.
All of the tracks are untitled, save for the date they were recorded.

It all started at a Detroit strip club, with a platter of deep-fried beef
taquitos and a dancer whose face looked a bit like Burt Reynolds. It
was here that Sam Baker first met a self-described fan of his, who told
him to take his music work more seriously.
Sam had long since graduated from tapping on piano to working on
the MPC and 404 under the name Samiyam, circulating beat tapes
among local crew in Michigan. He was among a network of post-
Donuts hip-hop producers focusing on instrumentals as the work.
Flying Lotus met Sam and picked him for the debut release on his
Brainfeeder label, 2008's Rap Beats Vol. 1. Sam Baker's Album
followed in 2011. His Wish You Were Here showed up on Leaving
Records in 2013, along with production work for Earl Sweatshirt,
Captain Murphy and Pharoahe Monch along the way.
Samiyam, extended Stones Throw family for a while now, debuts with
Animals Have Feelings, an album which he considers the creative
sequel to Rap Beats Vol. 1. 'Animals has roots in beats made around
the time of Vol. 1, and the new stuff on the record has some of the
same sound.'
The record is classic instrumental hip-hop, mixed with a handful of rap
tracks he did with the few MC collaborators he chooses to work with:
Earl (Mirror), Action Bronson (Mr.Wonderful), Jeremiah Jae and Oliver

Butch Webster aka Butcher Bear, was born in Austin, TX at the old Brackenridge hospital that later burned down. He's one of the co-founders of the producer-based event & crew; Exploded Drawing, he books the club, the North Door and he owns and operates (iN)Sect Records in the capital city of Texas.

Musically he goes from boom-bap hip-hop to new wave to nightmarish house to new territories of sound altogether. His production is steeped in live instrumentation, growing up as a kid playing drums/gtr/keys/anything around, his bastardized sounds and production weave samples with snatched up sonics.

The MC's featured on the album are all people he considers family, each adding their own flavors, while the main theme stays in tact. 'What are you saving it for Let the music air out. Breathe Deep. Since his breakthrough mixtape, 2011's Fantasy Beds, Antwon has been praised by critics for his ability to blend aesthetic innovation with a viciously funny personal touch. SPIN has called him electrifyingly eclectic', Pitchfork wrote that his last album, Heavy Hearted in Doldrums, was his boldest collection yet, grounded in improved production and his characteristic schoolboy wit.'

Over the course of the past decade, Antwon has made a name for himself with rowdy live shows and making music that's sometimes brooding, often hilarious, and always rooted in human relationships. His latest effort, the Double Ecstasy EP (due out April 1st on Anticon), touches on all of the San Jose native's favorite topics: sex, successfully navigating clubs, the dri-fit shirt you can't quite fit into, and more sex. But just when you think you've stood in line outside this venue before, he turns on a dime—these aren't the same characters you've seen before.

"I feel like this record is a rebirth,' Antwon says. Where he's spent the last five years writing and recording in isolation, Double Ecstasy finds him fully collaborative with producer Lars Stalfors. This record was definitely the most fun to make,' he adds, it showed me why I started playing in bands and collaborating with other people.'

The results are superb. He oscillates between Luv''s strip club hugs and 100K''s nightmare-induced oral sex, between I drink tea in the club, you drink pee in the club' and I done sold my soul so I got a rack.' He's the only person on either coast who could slide Beauty and the Beast onto an EP that otherwise sounds like it would be banned from all Disney properties. Girl, Flex' sounds like Outkast's Gangsta Shit' if it was was left out in the rain.

Raised in Sunnyvale, a 14-minute Caltrain ride from downtown San Jose, Antwon cut his teeth at punk and hardcore shows. That's not only evident when he's making bouncers fear for their lives and flouting noise curfews. It's an attitude that seeps into his work even now. You can see it in how he mastered hip-hop's finer technical points only to break and warp them to suit his own purposes.

Clocking in at fewer than 20 minutes, Double Ecstasy is just long enough for the Uber ride to whichever party your best-connected, least responsible friend has promised to sneak you into. When, on the closer Dri-Fit,' Antwon raps about Molly binges, it's hard to tell at first if the manic vocal take is supposed to feel like the high, or if the beat's grey tones are supposed to be the come-down. But that's the point: depending on who you're with, they might look just the same.

Now, two of the landmark singles from 'Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde' are available in a limited 7' colored vinyl pressing housed in ultra-deluxe full color sleeves.

Largely instrumental, the album also features guests Benjamin Glibert (Aquaserge) playing bass on «Navette» and «ML disco club», COEFF spitting rhymes on «Kamoulox» & Napoleon Maddox singing on «The Crave». BR&CP music sounds like Perrier sparkling water: never automatic, always elastic.

'Still Standing' is the debut single from the latest signings to First Word Records Children of Zeus. COZ is a soul project from two of Manchester's most respected artists Konny Kon & Tyler Daley. Konny Kon is a DJ, MC and beatmaker best known as one third of Broke'N'English alongside fellow Mancunians DRS and Strategy. Tyler Daley, also known as Hoodman went from being a respected MC and actor to one of the most in demand soul singers of recent times, lending his vocals and writing talents to music from Soul II Soul's Caron Wheeler, 50 Cent, Lisa Mafia, Bugsy Malone and more.

Whilst the likes of Dub Phizix, Chimpo, Zed Bias and Levelz are making waves in D&B, Bass Music and Grime, Children of Zeus came to break the trend and bring a soulful side that is much needed to continue Manchester's rich musical history. Over the last few years the duo have been releasing tracks through their Soundcloud, generating daytime radio play and legions of devoted fans. They are now finally ready to commit some of these recordings to wax with two tracks that represent the sound that they describe as 'future classic soul for sophisticated hoodrats'. 'Still Standing' is a Bilal-esque slice of neo-soul, a love-letter to the mother's that raised them, whilst on the flip 'No Strings Attached' blends dusty soul samples with a tale of life on the road and the temptations it brings. Look out for COZ's debut live show in London later this month and more new music very soon.

The hugely successful first colour vinyl edition sold out in only 2 weeks from release date so due to demand we are already repressing this instant classic! We appreciate that the expensive luxuriously packaged first edition was not for everyone's budget so the second edition is standard black vinyl and a regular sleeve design. These changes have brought the cost back in line with a standard double LP without cheapening the product and is still a superior quality package compared to many other independent releases.

The artwork has been tweaked to work with the standard sleeve format which is presented on heavyweight 380gsm card and is factory sealed in shrink wrap instead of plastic sleeves. We kept the original hype sticker design to retain the overall aesthetic from the first edition along with the same full colour insert but have included an extra information sticker for the back cover with track listing. We have also kept to double vinyl for pressing quality and have even reworked the label design as we found that the first edition labels didn't suit black vinyl quite the same as the colour vinyl edition so even though this is aimed at being cheaper than the first pressing we're still paying close attention to detail.

So as to be able to reach a wider audience we have added a Compact Disc release to the formats available which is presented in a factory sealed card sleeve with full colour inner sleeve so that the design remains in line with the vinyl issue.

Ta-ku, exceptional Musician & Australian, starts 2016 with a newly founded indie label imprint by himself & companion repeat pattern in collaboration with German Jakarta Records. BRRWD is a Creative Label between photographers/beatmakers and friends.

Both artists already created a photo collection book in 2015, now extending their cross border teamwork. Their first project NO.SLEEP followed the pair through the streets of Tokyo in a mission to capture the city in a 24 hour life cycle. After Ta-ku's release of of a 'Dowhatyoulove' 2013, this will be his 2nd release with Jakarta Records.

This compilation is the beginning of a 10" series that is as much a photographic series as a music focused one. A carefully curated selection of images and dirty loops, this first release in the series is a compilation containing work by close friends and admired fellow creatives.

Featuring Ta-ku prominently on 2 new tracks, both also containing vocals by Ta-ku himself. So with a love for the tangible, the compilation will be available on limited 10" Vinyl

The first single 'No one else's' is produced by repeat pattern & will premiere via Hypetrack including a video (Hypebeast). Brrwd love volume one also includes new artists like Pink Sifu, Malik Abdoul-Rahmaan, Yagi, Abhi/Dijon & established ones like submerse & Dil Whithers.

Unlike most rap vocalists, Ugly Duckling's Andy Cooper has rarely worked outside of his band but, recently, he decided to record a ten-song LP to explore his abilities as an MC and producer. 'Room to Breathe:The Free LP' features a highly creative Hip-Hop veteran showcasing his mastery of fundamental rap skill while, at the same time, daringly pushing the boundaries of lyrical possibility. Andy also holds down things on the beat, using his years of experience as Ugly Duckling co-producer to combine classic, sample-rich sound with a more rugged and modern sensibility. Obviously, projects come and go faster than I can finish this sentence but 'Room To Breathe: The Free LP' is truly worth digesting because it challenges the standard Hip-Hop formulas on the market. Rather than jumping on the latest trend or standing firm on Old-School principles, Andy utilizes all the resources of experience, technology and a relentlessly imaginative mind to offer something traditional, yet exciting and relevant.

"Los Angeles is 72 suburbs in search of a city," said the poet Dorothy Parker; "the beauty parlour at the end of the universe," says actress Emily Mortimer. You don't need to tell Canadian multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Krgovich. His sleek future-pop has revelled in LA's twin beauty and darkness for years now.



It was the backdrop for last year's cult acclaimed solo album On Sunset. Now comes another set of twilight tales of darkened boulevards and sun-soaked mansion pool sides, and the ghosts and eccentrics who inhabit them. The Hills is 12 tracks of analogue synths, intricate melodies , lush strings and slinking rhythms, as labyrinthine and intoxicating as the city that inspired it.



Krgovich - best known for his work with No Kids, P:ano and the 1960s girl-group influenced Gigi, and for collaborations with the likes of Mount Eerie, Nite Jewel and Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman - began writing The Hills in a snow-covered hut in the Rocky Mountains in the winter of 2008, before taking to his aunt and uncles' lake house to write more. "I would write every day all day and then make dinner and watch 30 Rock at night," he explains. Influenced by "what I guess people call sophistipop - Prefab Sprout, Talk Talk, The Blue Nile and Sade" to name a few, Krgovich gradually found songs coming together that told the stories of an "amalgam of characters that are at times acting out feelings or thoughts I've had. But sometimes they're off on their trip."



The result is a companion piece to On Sunset that careens through ideas and sounds with invention to burn. 'The Place Goes Quiet' is a snappy, danceable blur of intimate poetry ("we take a table in the shade and say goodbye to the afternoon, shopping bags hid under the table, coats draped over the arm of your chair") and jaunty piano, zipping to conclusion in a tangle of clever vocal arrangements. Then there's 'Backlot Detail' - all cinematic blooms of violin, until Solange-style vocals from Sufjan Stevens collaborator Nedelle Torissi send it spinning into new territory. 'Mountains of Song' meanwhile pivots on a deliciously 1990s hip-hop beat, layering brass over lyrics about "being in a place where everything should be lining up but none of it does. So you just kind of simmer in that feeling, letting it win," says Krgovich.



Elsewhere on The Hills, there are moments of feather-delicate baroque darkness ('Written In The Wind'), muted 1980s R&B ('Lookout Point') and slap-bass wig-outs packed with atonal sax ('Out Of Work Jazz Singer').



Recorded with Colin Stewart in Vancouver at The Hive Studios, and mixed with John Collins at his JC/DC Studios, The Hills is something that Krgovich simply "wanted to share. I want people to get something out of it.

Legendary French producer Mr. Oizo aka Quentin Dupieux returns with Hand in the Fire' - a four-track EP featuring brash, heavy-hitting productions and a Charli XCX guest appearance - out today via Ed Banger / Because Music / Big Beat Records. The new EP largely follows in the steps of Mr. Oizo's acclaimed 2014 LP The Church.' The title track shows off Mr. Oizo's pop production chops, mixing a compelling vocal performance from British pop-smash songwriter Charli XCX, complete with an incredibly catchy hook, with a punk-inspired composition that transitions more towards trap by the end of the song. On Being Flat,' Mr. Oizo pares back the melody to only an ethereal bridge, otherwise pushing forward the fast-beating pulse and glitched-out pace that continues throughout. A Rekurd' puts a tongue-in-cheek vocal sample over sirens, saw-like bass, and an eclectic drum kit, repeating the title over as tracks underneath tremor and quake. Mr. Oizo rounds out the EP with an instrumental mix of Hand in the Fire.

The Psycho Realm (1997) is the first album of the hip hop group Psycho Realm. The group consisted of Sick Jacken, Duke, and B Real, MC and one of the masterminds behind Cypress Hill. It peaked on #13 in the Heatseekers chart in 1997.


The Psycho Realm is an impressive collection of hardcore West Coast gangsta rap. There's genuine menace in their rhymes and music, which is why it hits so hard. The Psycho Realm's surrealistic imagery and impressionistic music creates genuine tension.

It tries more things than the average hip-hop record, and that makes it worth a listen!

All tracks produced by DJ Swerve Veteran Grime MC, D Double E releases His first self released vinyl, with reissue of his classic 'Streetfighter' riddim, 5 years after its original release. This is really for the true Grime heads, the iconic artwork by David Kelly who has worked with the likes of Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and more recently, Butterz Records is one that resonates. The release features the well known instrumental that has never before been released, as well as the brand new revamped for 2015 VIP. The latter is guaranteed to return Streetfighter to dancefloors everywhere as a killer track for the close of the year. This release runs in tandem with his new single 'Like This', and the launch of D Double E's clothing line 'Bluku Wear'.

Kurtis Mantronik and MC Tee formed the group Mantronix In the early 80s. Their Sleeping Bag Records debut - Mantronix: The Album shot to commercial success with its wildly futuristic sound that is summed up perfectly with the two songs featured on this 7". Side A features "Needle To The Groove" which is classic Mantronik production; pounding 808, pulsing bass, lots of scratching all accompanied by MC Tee's signature voice. Side B features the equally amazing (and the first single from the group) "Fresh Is The Word". While encompassing the same trademark style of "Needle..", "Fresh Is The Word" is a little more stripped down putting more focus on the beats and rhymes. Both these songs are essential to the foundation of Hip Hop which was starting to push the envelope of technology and sampling during this time putting Mantronik at the forefront of this movement.
