Chicago DJ duo, The Hood Internet, featuring STV SLV and ABX, present their debut album of original productions, FEAT (pronounced F-E-A-T), which will be released on Decon Records. The Hood Internet are infamous for their mixtapes featuring blends of a wide array of artists including the late Whitney Houston, Justice, Fleetwood Mac, Jay-Z and more.
FEAT marks The Hood Internet's first completely original, sample-free album with vocal and instrumental collaborations highlighting different artists including erudite rapping by Psalm One on "More Fun," synth-pop trio Class Actress alongside Canadian rapper Cadence Weapon on the chimerical "Critical Captions" and the infectious track "Won't Fuck Us Over" featuring the raw energy of Chicago group BBU.

Propo'88 & Kick Back, talented beatsmiths from the production team of Da Shogunz.
Propo & Kick Back grew up listening to underground Hip-Hop. As they got older, they started to get influenced by the culture as a whole and began creating music themselves, currently for Da Shogunz.
Da Shogunz are a European Hip-Hop crew based in the Netherlands.
At present, the crew includes: 2 MC's (BlabberMouf and Corown Da Sensei aka CDS) and 4 producers (Propo'88, Truffel The Phunky Phaqir, DJ Realize and Kick Back, who moved from Canada to Holland to become part of the group).
Da Shogunz, along with Het Verzet are the elite of underground Hip-Hop movement in Holland. With each member of the group contributing their unique style, together they form a strong foundation for boom-bap's inevitable revival.
This 12' record is comprised of instrumentals and vocal tracks created in traditional ways of Hip-Hop production, reminiscent of the times when the culture thrived.
It features MC's the duo has worked with in and outside of Da Shogunz. The vocal section is blessed by BlabberMouf, EllMatic & RawBerry from Holland, Simple One & Mr.Nylson from Germany, K Banger from the US, and Self from Canada. On the B-side there are six exclusive instrumental head-nodders.
In a time where mediocrity and corporate interference overflow the music industry, one should admire Propo's and Kick Back's dedication to being true to the culture, and to listeners worldwide.

Having come to prominence in the late 00s as one of the more distinctive and entertaining voices in the new beat scene, Fulgeance, has cheekily christened his own brand of hip hop meets electro and party friendly sounds Low Club. On Step Thru he continues to explore the same space, taking his music further down below into the dark, cavernous crevices that lie between hip hop and electronics. Fulgeance's hip hop roots are still visible throughout Step Thru, most notably on the album's two vocal cuts. Whut It Iz features Brooklyn MC Fresh Daily for a bumping and lurid transatlantic collaboration built on a sturdy riddim that balances neon bright melodies with darker bass lines. On the other side is Break Them Down with Yinka, a Greek MC Fulgeance first connected with years ago. The beat is as low as it can be without falling underground, sparse yet packing a punch and made all the more hypnotic thanks to Yinka's flow and his politically charged and socially conscious lyrics.

S3 are Miles Bonny (Voice + Horn) and Brenk Sinatra (Beats). Supa Soul Sh*t made in Kansas City and Vienna. Both have been part of the inner circle here at MPM for a minute.

And its a concept album too. - Tata's Plottn' is South Tyrol slang for - Dad's Records'. Fid Mella produced the records over the last two years in his home-town Meran. Whenever he was visiting his family, he headed straight to his father's records collection and chopped beats on the spot. Mella's father was a serious prog-rock head which you can easily tell when listening to this record. Nuff said. To keep all things family, Mella asked his brother Sebastian to do the artwork. On paper, a full collaborative album from Doom and space age production from Jneiro Jarel

can't fail. In practice it's even better. Doom is in the form of his life here. JJ produced all the

tracks, Doom provided the bulk of the vocals and compiled the cut and paste skits. Doom

recorded the album while 'banished' from the States and back living in london. He references

British culture throughout the album, name dropping British institutions, and possibly being

the first emcee to reference My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Jneiro recording the beats in the dirty

south, got into a UK state mind, and turned in heavy hip hop production that leans towards

grime, dubstep and British techno. The album will appeal to fans of classic Doom material.

JJ's tough, far out hip hop production will appeal to fans of Dilla, Flying Lotus and el-p. It also

features guest appearances from Beth Gibbons, Damon Albarn and Khujo (goodie mob).

The self titled record called The Beatnuts, or more affectionately referred to as Street Level, is the full length debut album by the Queens trio. It was released on June 21, 1994 by Relativity Records just a year after their impressive debut EP, Intoxicated Demons had turned the Hip Hop world on it's ear. The cutting edge production is supplied by Juju and Psycho Les themselves, with contributions from V.I.C. and Lucien (A Tribe Called Quest). It features guest appearances by Grand Puba (Brand Nubian), Miss Jones and DJ Sinister (The X-Exutioners) amongst others. The Beatnuts garnered commercial success charting on the Billboard 200 and boasts two singles, Props Over Here' and Hit Me with That'. It is known for its diverse production, hedonistic lyrics and cover art inspired by Hank Mobley's The Turnaround. It marks the last Beatnuts album before emcee (Kool Ass) Fashion left the group to pursue a solo career under the Muslim inspired alias Al' Tariq.

At a time when hip-hop was determined to snap your neck, a young, hip trio from Brooklyn (by way of Seattle, Philly, and Brazil) conspired on an uncommonly smooth new sound and freaky way of speak, a titanically chill expression of Black bohemia loaded with jazz idiom and a subversive Marxist bent—and pushed it worldwide via an undeniable crossover hit.

Digable Planets' 1993 debut, Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space), unexpected to all involved, produced a massive radio hit in Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)', which won the 1994 Grammy for Best Rap Performance by Duo or Group. Unduly lumped into an alternative rap' subgenre they chafed at, the Dig Plans were dismissed by some as one-hit wonders, coming out of nowhere, but the Digable Planets concept, and what became Reachin', had been in the works for close to five years, as group leader Ishmael Butterfly' Butler wrote music and soaked up game in multiple cities, navigating the industry of hip-hop's golden age.

In the end, Butler, Mary Anne Ladybug Mecca' Vieira, and Craig Doodlebug' Irving came together to create a seamlessly articulated vision of urbane hiphop cool with an uncommonly literary bent that subtly pushed the hip-hop genre's frames of reference and added breadth to rap music's burgeoning political philosophy. Drawing on inspiration from Butler's jazzbo father, the Black Panthers, Jose Luis-Borges, the Last Poets, and Jimi Hendrix, Reachin' posited a theory of universal beats', narrated by three unearthly MC's that had split to Earth to resurrect the funk', assuming curious, arthropodic aliases—a nod to the natural collective action of the insect world. In just four years the crew would record two beloved and ambitious LPs before disbanding.

Out of print on wax domestically since 1993, Reachin' captures one of the last gasps of rap music's jazzy, upbeat adolescence in the early 90's—those warm, blissed-out grooves every bit as slick as when they were laid way back when. Put this on, roll up with your crew and bug out again with the insect tribe.
