House Vinyl New Releases - News

one of the most played classics return in late 2011!

The original 12'' vinyl releases of Stomp The Beat and 1990 were two “Holy Grail” releases of Chicago House as they were only available for a short time before Gherkin Records went into inactive status in around 1991. At the time Larry Heard chose to not disclose the fact that he was the producer behind the Gherkin Jerks EPs. The two releases were a concept of experiments where he dove deeper into the equipment and do some creatively different tracks from his Mr. Fingers sound. These two legendary EPs have been heavily influential on other artists to this day. Often sampled or referenced they are true house classics and still amaze 25 years after their creation. Also on this album three bonus tracks, which are from the same Gherkin Jerks sessions but never released as such. Psychotic Fantasy was on the Dance 2000 pt. 2 album and Ecstasy is the full original take which makes its first appearence here. Reznaytor is an exclusive track for this release, never available before.

Ministry of Sound's 'Groove' series has now amassed over half a million copies and after much anticipation we return with a BIGGER and better second instalment of pure 90s feel good classics. Let us introduce the perfect summer album. This is 90s Groove Volume II.

We kick off with an uplifting fusion of forgotten gems beginning with Gabrielle's #1 debut anthem 'Dreams' alongside the timeless favourites 'Moving On Up' from M People, the #1 hit 'All That She Wants' from Ace of Base and possibly one of the greatest reggae inspired tracks of all time with 'Informer' from Snow.

As we move deeper into the groove on disc 2 we take you back with the perfect selection of smooth R&B featuring a roster of epic tracks from Montell Jordan, Jay Z and Salt N Pepa including the classic 'Bump N Grind' from R. Kelly.

Not wanting this journey to end we pick up the pace on the dancefloor bringing you the ultimate collection of dance anthems with 3 UK #1 singles and an incredible 14 'UK Top 10' singles across 3CDs including legendary tracks from Beats International, Crystal Waters, Rosie Gaines, Tori Amos and CeCe Peniston.

So whatever the weather this summer, Ministry of Sound guarantees to heat things up with pure nostalgic vibes.
This is how we do it.... 90s Groove Volume II.

Three superb re-edits from Karim, the man destined to become the new Todd Terje. 'All the joy that you bring' is everything that is good about disco with none of the cheese. Flip then for the pure soul and heavy funk of Lou Johnson's 'The Beat. Then to round off perfectly we've got a great instrumental of Grand Master Flash's classic 'The Message' This is a huge release!

The mothership TUSKWAX imprint primes release number 10 from FRANZ UNDERWEAR

Riding high on the wings of their previous release 'Pulling Strings' on their Red Series, Eclectic Avenue Records bring us REAR002 'Deep In It' by Small Giants.

Small Giants is the wonderfully ingenious marriage between Leeds based label manager Jacob Kelly (J.Cub) and the Chicago house legend Joshua Iz. Combining their skills, they have taken a heady guitar lick, underpinned it with a smoothly infectious bassline and sewn it all together with a warm soothing vocal sample.
Call it house, call it disco. Either way, it's a surefire dancefloor killer and will take pride of place in any DJ or collector's record box.

Flip her over for a remix by Leeds darlings PBR Streetgang. Currently the hottest thing to come out of dance music's unofficial capital, the cheeky duo have put their own twist on the original by filling the track out with some chuggier deeper vibes whilst highlighting the instrumental solos.
A hugely successful foray into a funkier tone for what promises to be another trophy in the E.A.R cabinets

2007 will be MR OIZO's year....A brand new 12" TRANSEXUAL that once again shows Oizo love for weirdos and a first movie "STEAK" , a story about milk & plastic surgery... YES YES on ED BANGER RECORDS, who else could release those infamous tracks. PATRICK 122 is already a club favourite played by the whole Ed Rec crew.

Coinciding with the cinema premier of "Bar25 - Tage ausserhalb der Zeit" (Bar25 - Days Out of Time), the Bar25 label is releasing the official soundtrack. Together with its closest musician friends, the label began work over a year ago on exclusive tracks that would be included in the final cut. The result is a remarkable compilation of works from a number of music genres - a unique collection of musical contributions by steadfast companions of the exceptional place that was Bar25.

Foot & Mouth goes all Basildon heritage on this DM tribute EP. Two great re-working's of two-synth classics. Get dark and groovy this November with a bit of Fashion Despatch!

Multi instrumentalist Gregor Schwellenbach took 20 label classics and re-recorded them as chamber music. Comes in a 2xLP mediabook with 44 page booklet.
