"Freda & Jackson's 'MSH002' is the second offering from Sydney's Moonshoe Records and their first EP on the label as a duo. In 2016 the two beat-makers burst onto the scene and further-introduced the label with a pair of singles; 'Persius' & 'Sumluv' to a warm response at home and abroad. MSH002, although predominantly house-cuts, sees the pair draw largely on their hip-hop influences with a heavy use of sample chops and and raw percussion. The 5-track maintains an emotional undertone of sadness from front-to-back while each tune holds up as a stand-alone journey"

Seit der Veröffentlichung des Durchbruchalbums "Singles" hat sich der Status von Future Islands dramatisch gewandelt: aus einem Underground-Kult wurde eine Synth-Pop-Ikone. Hauptverantwortlich dafür sind süchtig machende Songs wie "Seasons (Waiting On You)", die der Band aus Baltimore eine ständig wachsende Fangemeinde bescheren. "The Far Field" setzt das 2014er-Erfolgswerk mit unwiderstehlichen Hooks und entwaffnend ehrlichen Texten fort. Bei den Aufnahmen erhielten Samuel T. Herring (Gesang, Lyrics), William Cashion (Bass, Gitarre) und Gerrit Welmers (Keyboard) erstmals tudiounterstützung von ihrem LiveSchlagzeuger Michael Lowry. In Kombination mit den Streicher- und Bläser-Arrangements von Patrick McMinn und John Congletons Produktionskünsten entstand so ein wahrhaft opulenter Sound, dem es jedoch nicht an Klarheit und Kanten fehlt. Ein Höhepunkt des Albums ist der Herzschmerz-Song "Shadows", ein leidenschaftliches Duett zwischen Herring und Debbie Harry von Blondie. Auch "Time On Her Side" und "Day Glow Fire" handeln von der Schönheit, die aus persönlichen Tiefpunkten und vergangenen Lieben entstehen kann. ihren Wohnsitz in die Wälder der Insel Whidbey Island, um sich dort auf das Songwriting und die Kunst zu
konzentrieren; dies gestatten unter anderem Beiträge für die Zeichentrickserie "Adventure Time". "Forever Or
Never" ist bereits das achte Album von Lake. Es bildet den Abschluss einer Dekade intensiver Beschäftigung
mit den Rock- und Popidiomen der Siebziger. Die insgesamt zwölf Songs entspringen einer humanistischen
Grundhaltung und befassen sich mit den Schwierigkeiten einer moralischen und spirituellen Existenz in einer

Few projects in electronic music have remained at the very cutting edge for as long as Reagenz, a collaboration between San Francisco based Jonah Sharp and Heidelberg based David Moufang. Now, twenty years after their first project, comes 'The Periodic Table,' a live album captured at The Bunker New York's tenth anniversary party at Public Assembly, Brooklyn, in January 2013. This Triple LP also serves as the first full-length release from relatively new label The Bunker NY, which was launched in January 2014, so far releasing nine EPs from the likes of Atom™, Voices From The Lake, Marco Shuttle, and others...
The label say: 'Their first self-titled album 'Reagenz,' was released during a foundational moment for ambient and electronic music: 1994. At the time, Jonah's main project was Spacetime Continuum; an early signee of seminal label Astralwerks. He was also running one of the first independent electronic music labels on the West Coast, Reflective Records, recording with the likes of Pete Namlook and Bill Laswell; while David was founding acclaimed duo Deep Space Network, starting to record solo records as Move D, entering into a fruitful collaboration with Pete Namlook, as well as running his own Source Records imprint.

Following several well-received live appearances in Japan, Reagenz was reformed in 2009 for a full-length album 'Playtime' on the respected Berlin label Workshop. Since then, the project has been ongoing, touring to present live shows in both the US and Europe. There has also been a special collaborative extension of the project when Reagenz met Magic Mountain High (Moufang w/ Juju & Jordash) under the name The Mulholland Free Clinic at last year's Unsound Festival in Krakow. Moufang, working as Move D, is now highly in demand as a DJ (last year he did one the coveted Fabric mix CDs), whilst Sharp is also busy with solo gigs and a collaborative project with DJ Spun called the Loose Control Band.

Now, twenty years after their first project, comes 'The Periodic Table,' a stunning live album captured at The Bunker New York's tenth anniversary party at Public Assembly, Brooklyn, in January 2013. This Triple LP / CD album also serves as the first full-length release from relatively new label The Bunker New York, which was launched in January 2014, so far releasing nine EPs from the likes of Atom™, Voices From The Lake, Marco Shuttle, and others. To introduce the album, Sharp notes, 'I consider it a live album that captured the essence of the show. The two-and-a-half hour show was edited down to 70 minutes or so. The hard bit was selecting chunks to use.'

Recorded using a full stage of gear / all-hardware set up that included Roland TR 909, Roland TR 606, Roland JX-3P, Roland SH101, Anyware Instruments TinySizer, Nord Micro Modular, Doepfer Dark Time, Akai MPC 1000, Electro Harmonix Memory Man Delay and a Moog MidiMurf 'The Periodic Table' incorporates elements of house, techno and ambient in an organic flow that few artists could replicate. Watching the two musicians on stage makes tangible the sense of decades of shared experience between them very apparent. Moufang clarifies 'it is definitely about letting go and finding out where we can go as in terms of improvising (new) tracks.' Sharp concurs, 'Communication comes down to hearing and feeling what's going on at the time and trying to make the right decisions on the spot. Spontaneity plays a big part! '

Of course, this special adapt-and-move approach is not something every musician could do successfully. Sharp confirms, 'it's a challenge to play live dance music and make it work,' whilst Moufang sees a parallel for their approach in game theory, noting 'Live improvisation is always like a game of chess in a way—you follow and try to take the lead.'

Recorded with almost the same equipment they used to record their debut twenty years earlier, 'The Periodic Table' is a testament to the power of live electronic music, its ability to transcend time and remain, when delivered with skill and art, one of the most powerful live music experiences possible. Far from being locked into any cul-de-sac of 'dance' genre or DJ tools, 'The Periodic Table' presents a living, breathing model. Free your mind and your feet will follow.

I'm a Cliché's first release of 2016 comes from label boss Cosmo Vitelli. After a five year hiatus during which he was kept busy by his band Bot'Ox and relocating from Paris to Berlin, this is the very first release to come out of his new studio located in Berlin's Marzahn district.

Newly launced Samo Records is setting out to explore the depths of the dancefloor by celebrating the darker, moodier facets of electronic music.The NYC label's first release comes from Pixelife (Sean Dack), a highly accomplished visual artist and veteran of NYC's underground. In addition to releasing on such respected labels as Throne of Blood, Horn Wax, and Let's Play House, he also makes up half of GHOST COP, a band known for its textured synths, iconic vocals, dissonant beats, and captivating live sets. Incorporating the same expert sonic-layering techniques he employs in his live analog sets, he's created a dynamic EP that's both intimate in feel and broad in scope.'Omega Block' stomps out of the gate, all driving rhythms and throbbing basslines with an underlying element of frenetic foreboding — aptly reflecting these geopolitically tense times, while still remaining suitable for losing yourself on the dancefloor. The track gets the remix treatment by Bristol, U.K.-born, Berlin-based Antoni Maiovvi, a self-described 'electrodisco horror mindmelt DJ/live performer/film composer' who heads up Giallo Disco Records with Vercetti Technicolor. Here, he trades his trademark horror elements for successions of staccato beats and a stripped-down sensibility that successfully translates to perfect late-night-at-a-warehouse vibes.Chimeras in the Matrix' soars with gorgeous dystopian melodies overlaying squelchy undertones, revealing labyrinthine layers and anxious crescendos before building to a full-on acid frenzy. Producer/remixer/DJ Tronik Youth (who, like Maiovvi, also hails from the U.K. and currently lives in Berlin) is co-head of the prolific (averaging nearly a release a week in 2016) NEIN Records, which he founded five years ago with Ian Considine; the label has released music from the likes of Rodion, Curses, In Flagranti, Heretic, Man Power, Daniele Baldelli, The Emperor Machine, and Moscoman, to name but a few. He is also a member of Permanent Wave, a spooky, pitched-down, dark-wave-inspired disco project with French singer Justine. He brings a chuggy, bleepy edge to his take on 'Chimeras in the Matrix' with bouncy rhythms, multiple breakdowns, and echoing robo-vocals, taking the original's intensity down while upping the dancefloor quotient.

Introducing a new concept series in Bluff-world, consisting of 5 Maxi-Singles, Bluff manipulates ancient and forgotten European shellac-sounds in a harsh world of experimental House Music on the edge of danceability. 'Eminenzen 1 blasts off with 3 unusual and smart tracks with childish and sarcastic irony between the lines.

Mentha Records steps up with a various release called Into Yourself featuring four emotive compositions that span the deep house spectrum. 'Tides' by Michael Lovatt starts the 12" with lush chords and a deep baseline that gives off a warm feeling. Kareem Ali is up next with 'Arnaldo Tamayo Mendez', a sensual track that is packed full of frequencies as Ali shows off his harmonic and arrangement skills,. The flip side begins with an Anaxander piece called 'Unspoken', with an emotive motif that displays homage to a classic deep house sound. Michael Zucker is holding up the last leg with "Together", this melancholy tune seeps its way slowly into your cells through an invasion of warm tones. Into Yourself is a solid 12" for the deep house soldiers.

with his third album 'vin ploile' the bucharest, romania based producer, musician and dj petre in-spirescu captured a whole new audience in 2015 and reached out with minimal leftfield ambient sounds to music loving folks, that are not part of the world-wide dance music universe.
well known as one of the key figures of the romanian electronic dance music scene since his first ep 'tips' on luciano's label cadenza, inspirescu stepped away from club sounds that made him famous due to releases on labels like vinyl club, lick my deck or amphia.
also his two solo albums 'intr-o seara organica...' and 'gradina onirica', both released on a:rpia:r, the record label he initiated with his buddies rhadoo and raresh in 2007, do not have much in common with the sound of 'vin ploile' - a mesmerizing deeply musical album that he only tuned in with some elements of piano, string and wind instruments as well as analogue electronics.
at the end of 2015 his nine slow swinging arrangements where celebrated in many polls and now, just a bit more than one year after the release of 'vin ploile' petre inspirescu delivers 'vîntul prin salcii' - another longplayer enlarged with seven, up to epic twelve minutes long arrangements, that continue where 'vin ploile' ceased.
they all listen to the name 'miroslav' and only differ numerically in their title. you can call them ambi-ent. you can call them minimal music in the sense of classic compositions by steve reich or terry riley. they groove - sometimes more, sometimes less. and they spread the sounds of flutes or saxophones, delicate piano figures, organic jazz drumming, arpeggiated analogue synth-lines, mesmerizing strings, choral singing, alienated looped vocals and spaced out new aged spheres.
what unites them all is the way, the melodies dance upon and in each single tune. their beautiful tex-tures ensnare and they are continuously engaged with experimentation. a mystical album full of evolu-tionary music to which each listener is able to paint his very own emotional picture. moody, dark and at the same time light-flooded shape-shifting compositions - made for those who love to surrender them-selves to a gentle dance between experimentation and attractiveness.
the cover artwork for petre inspirescu's album was made again by the illustrator and photographer julian vassallo, who's artistic works fascinate with a touching spirit of distance, that captures the truth in each single motif. just like petre inspirescu's music, only that his art grooves with notes that tell somehow: there is no truth. there is only perception.

Finally! Acid Andy's 'That Acid Track' gets a well deserved vinyl release.

'AUS Music ready a double vinyl remix package from Cassy's debut album,'Donna' which came out in June 2016. With 'Donna' we hear a more personal side of Cassy. Co-produced by her soul brother' King Britt, Cassy reconnects with her vocal talentwriting lyrics and singing on all tracks but one, making the album an intimate journey from the soul. Cassy has en-listed some of her most respected peers, all of whom have put their own stamp on the original tracks. This makes the remix package the perfect contrast to the album, and also proves that Cassy's original music has the seal of approval from some of the finest house and techno heavyweights on the circuit today. Marcel Dettmann adds an endearing edge to move 'Move', whilst Ron Bacardi picks up an undeniable pace on 'All I do'. 'Feel' is taken on a cosmic journey with Onsulade's Yoruba, and Radio Slave gives 'Keep Trying' the remix treatment twice. Finally 'Keep Trying' is reworked on by friend & collaborator, D'Julz, Julz takes takes things down a subtle, dubbier route with his edit, keeping Cassy's vocals a staple throughout'

The constantly evolving Ellum Audio imprint welcomes German techno duo Switchbox and the irresistibly groovy 'Pirates Poetry' to the label. Label head Maceo Plex and wonder boy Danny Daze join forces as Jupiter Jazz to deliver a stellar remix, with a Switchbox remix of dreamAwaken's '8 Bit In A Bit' to round off.
The original 'Pirates Poetry' ticks all the boxes of an Ellum Audio classic, perfect for the big room at peak time with full fat squelchy basslines, seductive grooves and trippy FX. With an artist roster as prolific and well-established as Kompakt's, you won't find much downtime that could be used for new entries to the catalogue. That's why we are especially happy to not only present the inaugurating full-length of VERMONT, but also introduce two distinguished producers to the fold that have built their impressive careers in our immediate vicinity, albeit appearing on the label for the very first time: Innervisions' MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW (of MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE fame), two floor familiars praised for their gripping club tunes that showcase a surprisingly unwound and novel side to their respective artist personas.

With VERMONT, MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW submit a noticeably mature work that seems to come from a well attuned production duo, effectively concealing the fact that this is their first collaborative effort... and a decidedly informal one at that: these cuts were not conceived with specific aesthetic goals in mind, but emerged from a series of loose jam sessions disclosing the trespassing spirit of the sonic adventurer. It's in the sanctum of Danilo's former Cologne studio, surrounded by an armada of vintage analogue synthesizers, that the two music buffs somewhat inadvertently tapped into the city's collective subconsciousness and minted fourteen sleek soundscapes of almost krautrockish proportions.

Exhibiting high amounts of arpeggiated curiosity and following a factual no-sampling policy, tracks like wonderstruck opener YAIZA, undulating bleepfest DYNAMIK, the cinematic

ELEKTRON or ambient ballad MAJESTÄT are immersed in the enticing allure of freeform sequencing, even deciding to forego the full-blown percussion kits we've come to love in the two producers' main bodies of work. The restricted rhythmic pallet pays off extraordinarily well, as can be heard in the rich, breathing textures of KATZENJAMMER, DROIXHE or EBBE: if inclined to do so, one could label them as introspective synth poems, albeit with a strong sense for structure and dramaturgy that speaks volumes about the musical kinship of their originators - with or without drums.

BQD040.1 is a collection of remixes the label released during its early years. Back
then, the label intended to back up every release with a remix. The Rhadoo remix
was not just an amazing addition to Pherox's Gabrielle' track, but it was also
featured on an EP released with new graphics.
Buck delivered an amazing interpretation of Danilo Schneider's summer track
L'ecole', that's still very much a favourite at the label. Last but not least, Laurine
Frost's remix of Dana & Nvelope's Flowers', one of Dana's first released tracks.
Frost gave the original a rich soundscape an extraordinary vibe. All of these remixes
meant something special to the label, and now they're all here for you to enjoy on
one record...

Following his release on Perlon as Alter Mahnn, collective member Ion Ludwig signs Toi.Toi's 4th release. The EP brings two tracks carefully chosen and crafted. Rather than having the dance floor as a drive they are rather more mind driven, a very mature EP.

'Not 'For You'- This track, from the very beginning, manages to create a tension, a rather pleasant tension, a constancy is built and it does keep giving very slowly, building up to be an amazing jam suiting a dance floor as well as an inner moment of peace.

'Are We For Real' brings a very slick groover. It brings a very delicate and extremely classy straight hihat leading the way at the forefront while the mind is grabbed by the musicality through a beautiful melody in addition to many hypnotic noises in and out.

Sobriquet Records launches with the Japanese duo Liieberman and their EP The Things You Do To Me,accompanied by a Sinob Satosi Remix on the track the EP takes it name from.

First of all, Little Hado is a person with great passion for quality sounds. Starting with year 2008, his passion rapidly became a burning desire to learn how to play and produce music.

From then on, in just one year he was invited to play at various parties - his first party was at an After Hours at Mash-up Club in Bucharest - thus gaining more experience and getting to know how and what can make a person smoothly move on the dancefloor.

Always open to new ideas and in continuos research for better sounds, his musical style ranges from house to techno and even experimental.

Xinobi's new album is pretty much an album rooted in the NOW. Its emo electronic music you can dance to. You can say Atmospheric House with Spoken Word, dreamy electronic with a Pop feel, ethereal Techno, dark chill Leftfield fulfilled with uncommon lyrics on the dance music world.'On The Quiet' is a dance floor-focused story about the transition of many electronic musicians from punk rock and skateboarding into house music and about how dance-music can be a field for social conscious awareness.It's common knowledge that the second album from an artist is his most difficult task. 'On The Quiet' proves to be an exception to this idea. After countless successful singles and remixes Xinobi found his own style on his debut album '1975', released in 2014, and improved that style on this set of songs that now stands a new landmark on his career. 'On The Quiet' is a reflex of the path that many contemporary electronic musicians have crossed, starting on punk and developing into diversity while keeping some of the ethics of punk school. One could say this an D.I.Y. record. Xinobi played and self-produced the whole album and even released on Discotexas (a label he co-owns with Moullinex). Friends were invited to sing on some tracks and there's Ian MacKaye's (the man behind such important bands as Minor Threat, Fugazi or the Dischord label) voice about skateboarding manners and urban alternative interpretations. The record also features an artwork by Braulio Amado with extensive biographical writings, all the lyrics, interviews with Igor Cavalera (former member of Sepultura and Mixhell) and David Andersson of Punks Jump Up beautifully crafted with fanzine-styled aesthetics.

Then A2 Eloi Brunelle - Neneh, originally released in the 2001 CD album Eloi Brunelle Elsonic Project. On the Bside Andres Garcia - Invisivel, a minimal house stomper, which was out on on Grand Cru 2008, a various artists CD, by Connaisseur Recordings. SGR003 will be pressed on 180gram black vinyl and presented in brown cardboard sleeves.
