Early May will see Mihai Popoviciu return with his second long player in the shape of the 'Home' LP on Bondage music, comprising twelve original compositions from the Romanian artist.
Mihai Popoviciu : "The album's called "home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home."
Romania's Mihai Popoviciu has carved out quite the career over the past decade releasing material through the likes of Highgrade, Hudd Traxx, Poker Flat and Fear of Flying. Here though we see him deliver his second full-length album and return to Bondage Music following a single on the label back in
2013.
Across the project Mihai delivers his signature dance floor focused, stripped back style with records like 'ACK', 'Sandstone Folder' and 'Tentacle Operated' showcasing the hypnotic and percussive style
Popoviciu executes so well. The project also drifts into smooth dubby realms via compositions like 'Cannon Poets' and 'Sunshine' while the likes of 'Triumph' and 'Music 999' radiantly display Mihai's proficient production abilities as he wanders into a brighter more house centric sound.
All in all Mihai Popoviciu turns in a coherent long player whilst exploring a broad range of styles, 'Focus and 'Havana' lay down a groove-led feel with subtle modulations and an unfaltering structure, while 'Data On Data', 'Paranoia' and 'Hypnosia' tip the focus over to dark and brooding territories with murky synth pads and chuggy low end tones. Once again Popoviciu has proven himself to be one of Romania's finest electronic music exports.

Do Mi (Dominique Fils-Aimé) is Montreal Singer Songwriter and Artist whose musical influences are deeply rooted in jazz and soul. Her style can be described as a mix of old school classics from the 40s, 50s and 60s blended with contemporary pop and house sounds. In 2015, Do Mi took part in The Voice making it to the semi-finals of the competition. She currently is busy touring, painting, helping with charities and her first EP : The RED Ep.
Following up on his 2014 appearance at MUTEK, Hourani presented AL/VE, an exclusive new set celebrating the unity of archaic machines and modern man, with Do Mi joining him in the festival's finale position in the underground Salle BWR.
Bay Area born Marc David Barrite aka Dave Aju is a reliable name for fresh and distinctive electronic music, combining deep knowledge and passion for dance music history with a fearless, forward-thinking approach to production and performance. A diverse range of influences from his jazz upbringing and hip-hop years, to the outer realms of experimental post-rock and musique concrète can be heard in Aju's unique sound, always with a solid sense of rhythm owed to his roots as a dancer.
Dave Aju remixes, DJ sets, and live performances are in demand at labels, clubs, and festivals across the globe. Following the success and praise for his body of work including several notable EPs and remixes as well as three full-length concept-driven albums on the Circus Company label, Mr. Aju is now more active than ever expanding his musical multiverse, with promising collaborations such as the voice of the Guillaume & The Side Effects and KAMM bands, one-third of Berlin-via-SF DJ power trio Something Something Something, along with new solo releases on the revived Music For Freaks and Matthew Herbert's Accidental label. ince its original release in 1977, Ragnar Grippe's seminal debut album entitled 'Sand' has been adorned with immense praise and influenced a myriad of ambient musicians and minimalist composers. Grippe's unique approach of bonding post-modern classical composition into the tape techniques of musique concre`te allowed him to be one of the leading experimental electronic musicians of the late 20th century.
Originally trained as a classical cellist, Grippe had relocated to Paris in the early 70's to study at the famous Groupe de Recherches Musicales (more commonly known as GRM) founded by musique concre`te pioneers Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Henry and Jacques Poullin. Around the same time, Grippe had struck up a close friendship with French avant-garde minimalist Luc Ferrari. It was under Ferrari's direction and guidance that the young Grippe started to build a shared experimental music studio, aptly named l'Atelier de la Libe´ration Musicale (ALM), in which Ferrari shared his knowledge and instrumental supplies, thus forging Grippe's implementation of harmonic tone within the confines of musique concrete.
After a brief stint of electronic music study at McGill University in Montreal, Grippe returned to Paris in 1976 to compose with Ferrari at the now fully-realized ALM studio. One of the visiting artists passing through the creative epicenter of the Cite´ Internationale des Arts during this time was the painter Viswanadhan Velu. Velu's recent works consisted of various Sand paintings which were to be exhibited at the Galerie Shandar, the avant-garde art gallery and home to the Shandar record label which was the home to minimalist composers Terry Riley, La Monte Young, Cecil Taylor and Charlemagne Palestine.
Grippe was asked to compose a composition that was to be played during the Sand painting exhibition and was then to be released on the Shandar imprint in 1977. This release would be the first official album that would start Grippe's career as a modern avant-garde composer and electronic musician. After a celebrated release, 'Sand' has since been out-of-print on its original vinyl format for four decades and original copies fetch high prices amongst minimalist listeners and collectors.
Dais Records proudly reissues 'Sand' by Ragnar Grippe on vinyl for the 40th anniversary of its original release in a limited edition 500 copy pressing on clear vinyl featuring new liner notes by the artist on April 7th 2017.

Moscow label Grow continues in fine creative form, seemingly not sticking to a motive or trend but rather concentrating on the strength of character within the music it releases. For the label's eighth release the artist is Berlin based The Marx Trukker, who over the last 10 years has been developing his very distinct sound and recent output on labels like Pluie/Noir, The Untold Stories, and most recently Noorden, have all been especially impressive. Now on Grow comes the album 'Heavens Crackling', from the title one is expecting something awesome, and the album does not disappoint, right from the off, the first track: 'A time well spent', begins with celestial tones ringing out and the performance develops with great synth work, enlightened and very enlivening, spring is in step and something is beginning. The record continues at such a level throughout, overflowing with rich tones, warmth, and raw sounding percussion. In the second track, 'All the boating still a tide to go', deep warm bass and strings reverberate, as if amidst a hot harbour's summer, then the ethereal synths return as magical breezes of cooling wind on a June day. On the Bside comes the title track 'Heavens Crackling', the tone has cooled, there is an autumnal vibe, extended tones of an eerie but reassuring nature provide the ground, from under which a molten bass flows playfully. The final track, 'I do anything but it's so cold', as the title would suggest, again time has passed, gone are the warm relaxed echoes of the the opening tracks, winter has come, and a strong percussive energy becomes the driving force of an especially deep and more introverted last track. In 'Heavens Crackling' there is an uncanny understanding of time passing and representation of being, it's present in the patience and performance within every track, and the effect of the album; which seems, like the seasons, to naturally come full circle, is for the listener indeed to experience a time well spent. Top marks for The Marx Trukker!

Producers like Christian Burkhart, Einzelkind, Reboot and of course our man of the moment, Markus Fix are just a few names of the fine Frankfurt club music scene. With releases on cocoon recordings and his residency at infamous cocoonclub frankfurt, Markus Fix is far more than an established techno artist. His hi-class equipped studio and his production skills are the result of more than 20 years of experience in the music and club biz.

We are happy to have pan/tone for our fourth Pfand release. Sheldon Thompson, aka Sid Le Rock, serves up three melodic pieces which catapult you into a deep dreamy trip, complete with floating hypnotic grooves and melodies. Rhodes Avenue comes with tropical bells, 70's-style rhodes piano with 80's-synth flavour. Animal Parade convinces with cinematic soundscapes and a memorable hymn which brings us to another level. Romania's Mihai Popoviciu has carved out quite the career over the past decade releasing material through the likes of Highgrade, Hudd Traxx, Poker Flat and Fear of Flying. Here though we see him deliver his second full-length album and return to Bondage Music following a single on the label back in
2013.
Across the project Mihai delivers his signature dance floor focused, stripped back style with records like
'ACK', 'Sandstone Folder' and 'Tentacle Operated' showcasing the hypnotic and percussive style
Popoviciu executes so well. The project also drifts into smooth dubby realms via compositions like
'Cannon Poets' and 'Sunshine' while the likes of 'Triumph' and 'Music 999' radiantly display Mihai's proficient production abilities as he wanders into a brighter more house centric sound.
All in all Mihai Popoviciu turns in a coherent long player whilst exploring a broad range of styles, 'Focus and 'Havana' lay down a groove-led feel with subtle modulations and an unfaltering structure, while
'Data On Data', 'Paranoia' and 'Hypnosia' tip the focus over to dark and brooding territories with murky synth pads and chuggy low end tones. Once again Popoviciu has proven himself to be one of Romania's finest electronic music exports.

Through the years, Dragosh has established a solid following for his quality releases like his recent appearance on the Fabric mix series compilation mixed by no less than arpiar's Rhadoo.
'Teoria' is a finely crafted EP of four tracks where intricate rhythms coalesces with synth pads and textures to create mystic atmospheres. The last touch is given by another talented romanian artist like Priku, who reconstructed 'Didiracrac' giving it his typical sound signature.
