House Vinyl New Releases - News

Capturing the spirit of the season, when the electronic music community leaves its darkened rooms and heads back to nature, Feathered Sun are here with the perfect accompaniment. The six-strong collective have appeared once before when they delivered the first release on Platon Records, and
now they return with another three tracks that live and breathe with an organic band dynamic that can only be wrought by many hands working in unison.
The loose-fit Berlin-based crew is comprised of NU, jO.K.e, Raz Ohara, Chris Schwarzwaelder, Iannis Ritter and Acid Pauli, and individually you may have experienced their music in many other places. As well as being peers in the music scene they are all real life friends, and Feathered Sun is the
manifestation of their lives spent together jamming wherever the mood is right, not confined to rigid studio sessions and release deadlines.
This natural, easy-going atmosphere lingers all over the three tracks on the Saubohnen EP, as playful vocal intonations meet with live instrumentation over laid back grooves made without a need for hype or drama. It feels like the soundtrack to a perfect idle summers day spent amongst friends, while still
maintaining a necessary bite to keep toes tapping and the vibe lively. Legend would have it that the Feathered Sun sound is just as likely to have been crafted in a retreat in Peru as surrounded by the wives and kids, let alone in more conventional musical environments. It is that down-to-earth spirit that makes their sound so instantly familiar and easy to get along with, reflecting real life and love outside the self-less mass identity of the dancefloor.

Cadenza Music opens up its 2016 account with the debut single from Swiss producers, Rare Movement feat. Disco Channel. Cutting their teeth on the DJ circuit for many years, and playing alongside such esteemed jocks as Seth Troxler, Ricardo Villalobos (who mastered the audio on these tracks), Jamie Jones and Luciano (who ultimately signed this single to Cadenza), the guys have crafted a pair of tracks that sit right in the DJ sets of the aforementioned company. 'Rare 007' combines tension building synths and a wandering bassline, wrapped up tight in solid drum groove, its hypnotizing tones carving out a most useful club tool. On the flip side, 'Rare 011' digs deeper, with cinematic string sweeps over the sparse and bass heavy kick drum. Flashes of vocal refrains and micro percussion fly in and out of the arrangement as the melodic elements give this one a real sense of drama as the track blossoms into life. A very accomplished debut from the guys will no doubt provide a real 'dancefloor moment' in the right setting, and no surprise that Villalobos gave these tracks the audio master that they deserve.

Not many labels make it to release number fifteen, let alone year 15, but that's exactly the milestone the Moon
Harbour family is celebrating throughout 2015. Headed up by esteemed DJ, producer, remixer and
Circoloco/DC10 Ibiza resident Matthias Tanzmann and manager André Quaas, the Leipzig based label has lasted
so long on account of it having always moved ahead of the times. Celebrated for its diverse output from tech
house to minimal to deeper club sounds, the label's ever evolving roster of artists is like a who's who of the
contemporary scene.

As Matthias Tanzmann puts it looking back at the development of the label: 'I was still pretty young when we
started the label in 2000, so we have all grown up together for 15 years now. Moon Harbour is like my child. I am
happy many artists joined the family or became good friends and that the label has become a home for all of us.'
Next to core family members and label acts like Luna City Express, Sable Sheep, Marco Faraone, Sven Tasnadi,
Dan Drastic and the boss himself are new school talents and carefully A&Red artists like Adam Port, Re.You,
Ekkohaus, wAFF, Cuartero, Steve Lawler, DJ T., Chris Wood & Meat, Butch and Detlef.

The label has built up an exceptional canon of music that's lead to the release of no less than 100 EPs, five artist
albums and ten label compilations. It makes dance floors move hours and hours, but also sticks in the minds
much longer thanks to its real sense of invention and originality. This has been proven by big Moon Harbour hits
such as Sable Sheep's 'Upon Burning Skies', the summer hit of 2013, Santos' 'Hold Home', but also Matthias
Tanzmann's 'Bulldozer' and his remix of Marlow & Delhia's "Movin" back in 2006, which took Moon Harbour to
the next level in terms of international awareness.

Thanks to the reputation of the label, Moon Harbour label showcases are a solid addition to globally
acknowledged festivals and events such as the Miami Music Week, Sónar week in Barcelona, the Amsterdam
Dance Event and at various places in Ibiza, to name a few.

The monthly Moon Harbour Radio show, hosted by Dan Drastic, has meanwhile clocked up more than 60
episodes and is available as a podcast at iTunes and on Soundcloud and Play.fm, as well as being broadcasted
through various international radio stations such as Ibiza Sonica. It has established itself with fans as a reliable
source of new music and information from the Moon Harbour label and its artists.

To celebrate all this there will be a Moon Harbour tour around the world, which kicks off at the Sónar week in
Barcelona. Additionally there will be an anniversary compilation with exclusive tracks by Moon Harbour artists and
friends, as well as rereleases of the most successful tracks from the last 15 years.

It might have been around for 15 years then, but Moon Harbour and its ever evolving family still very much lead
from the front.

Third Child + John Dimas remixes! Vinyl Only

Second release from Miami based label, Sports Records. Featuring local artist Avstin Frank with a remix from the Gua Ltd. boss Gua Camole. 300 copies. Vinly Only. Sanctified People Of Righteousness Truth & Soul"

Originally released on Richie Hawtin's Minus label a decade ago, Restore stands alone as Houle's very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. Spread across three 12s & 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal, groove-driven sound purveyed by Hawtin and the rest of the Minus crew, while retaining a strong sense of Houle's unique character and identity. Now it's the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of time, still utterly infectious and absorbing - a collection of music that captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 10 years since its release, the album is getting the remix treatment and Marc has called in some of the very best in techno talent to give Restore a fresh makeover. The selection of artists who've contributed to the 'Restored' project includes heavyweights such as Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y. and Popof together with additional reworks from stars of the new generation such as Danny Daze, Julian Jeweil and Harvard Bass, all giving his tracks a new lease of life. In addition, Houle himself has also stepped up to offer a new contemporary take on his own music, collaborating with vocalist Genevieve Marentette on 'Demor'. 'Restore was the beginning of it all for me. It was influenced by the sounds of Detroit and the endless parties I went to there in the 90s. It was my first album and to me it had the perfect balance of darkness, groove and electronic sounds. 10 years later, I am excited to present Restored with some modern interpretations on old tracks by some friends and colleagues who have kept the party going throughout the world."- Marc Houle

Number 1 of the 5years series from Be Chosen !!

Born and raised in Constanta, home of the legendary La Mania club, Sepp was influenced by electronic music's finest sound from an early age. Step by step he rose from the ranks not only to become his city's most beloved dj but also a La Mania resident. Production followed quickly and quickly came a few releases for UVAR, Body Parts or Andromeda. Now it's time for a new challenge and it appears Sepp is here to serve. Catren is the name, Sepp is the game !

Sepp's work is usually a bit minimalistic and super organic and this EP is no different. Crampei de balad starts a little broken an creepy only to develop into a super casual dance track. With the kick in comes the synth that will only be eclipsed by the occasional vocals. Dance !

Glass din stele is the serious one. The steely organic feel present in so many of his works is on. Dark strings, piano, ample reverbed spaces and a super groove come together into a ultra deep track that echoes the artist's fundamental influences. Petre Inspirescu and Ricardo Villalobos, probably, if we have to guess.

Thilo comes back to contribute his rst solo release which turns out to be a big one ! The third
installment of Pager Records contains three outstanding, quirky, twirly and playful minimal house
unes which denitely reect the HardWorkSoftDrink member's mindset. We say - kühl ich an Board
zu haben Thili ! and present to you The Saga of Bennos T.s. EP!

"Just before the arrival of summer this year, Christian Löffler is set to release his next musical statement and autobiographical journey named Young Alaska' on Ki Records. The German producer unveils his unique soundscapes by delivering seven tracks which are deeply rooted, once again, in harmony and emotion. Löffler's unique sound based on an intense melancholic feel brought him a busy touring schedule performing at clubs and festivals all over the world. He sticks to his calm approach to electronic music and proves, through his live-sets, that emotions control the dance floor, creating a real sense of euphoria. His experiences on the road are reflected on Young Alaska,' which is largely inspired by these journeys and places he has visited. From the peaceful landscapes of the title track to the melodramatic heights of Mt. Grace,' he took Notes' back home to transfer the impressions into his music. Songs like Beirut , Veiled Grey' and Alpine Sketch' are very diverse but come together harmoniously on this release. As on his debut album, he once again collaborates with Danish vocalist Gry and Me Succeeds lead-singer Mohna on All Comes' and Beirut.' During the course of Young Alaska', Christian tells the story of his journey over the course of the past two years"

Ki's the Japanese word for tree. And like a tree the so titled label stroke it's roots deep into cologne soil since 2009. It build up a solid stem of international artists that grew along the way since the label's start. Sometimes technoish, melancholic or playful electro pop infused with vocals - the Ki releases are diverse in sound and genre, but related in quality. It's not Ki's thing to stick to one direction. Most of the labels musicians are somewhat involved in many disciplines of art. From the smallest detail in production to the whole package - each release is a piece of art throughout. And because fine art looks best on a proper sized canvas of 12 , Ki releases it's music not only digital, but also on vinyl. To look at, feel, listen to and love.

Valioso014 is made by our own, Tolga Top.The Baby Ep is going to be his first solo appearance on Valioso, "Baby,Please Wait! is a combination of jazz influenced drums and a perfect harmony in-between of Vocal and synth. Choosing Ada kaleh as a Remixer, reinvented the track into a romanian beast for peak time sets. - Morning Dust is a hypnotic, drum driven, breakbeat track accompanied by a Little Hado Remix, which took this track to another level, underlining it's puristic groove and soul.

With this 3-track vinyl only EP FLANGER continues to explore a techno-infused notion of nuclear Jazz. The Spinner-EP contains arguably destructive synths on "Spinner", an insane 5-beat derived from the FLANGER's 2015 "Lollopy Dripper" (non41) album, called "Spin". Both the 12 minutes lavish groove-intricacy "Loose Joints" and the one, straight tittle titled "It From Bit" are Atom™& Burnt Friedman 2016 originals, adding to the most compelling and witty electronic collaborative utterings to date.

Here it is, the second release on Zukunft Recordings, starring more brilliant remixes for The Legendary Lightness. Frank Wiedemann from Ame/Howling created a hymn. Kejeblos on the flip provides a groovy Disco version with early electro influences.

Two original tracks and two edits from Detroit's up-and-coming talent: Val G. Her youthful fresh style shows she's learning to stand on her own two feet behind gear that's been around decades longer than she has.

French label Meant serve up another EP from their fast rising Montreal based duo Vosper. Made up of Edouard Le and Christopher

Byron, the pair excels in analogue funk, have also released on Throne of Blood and here get remixed by Items & Things man Marc

Houle. Taking some of their cues from the likes of Drexcyia and Mark Bell, the duo have a sound somewhere between darkened

Techno and physical EBM.
The title track 'Losing Control' is a raw and stripped back bit of house music with a taught bassline, eerie robot voices and plenty of industrial grit and grime in the textures on offer. It's heavy warehouse music but retains a great sense of dynamism before 'Kabuki Playboy' lays down a rich, rasping bassline and has various shooting synths dance all around it. The claps are metallic and grainy
And the mood is one you'd find at a deserted industrial estate in the dead of night. 'Isolation' verges on electro with again a gnarly
Bassline and great sense of wide open but futuristic space. A clatter of hits and spaceship like synths all circle round the groove and it's another hugely evocative track.
Minimal techno master Marc Houle then remixes 'Isolation' into something with more echo and menace buried within. It's a subtle

Rework but one that makes the track that bit more fearsome and moody. First digital bonus 'Oni' is a sparse affair that relies on its alien Voices and spaceship like sounds to craft a very real atmosphere and ambiance where robots and machines rule the roost. It's crisp And analogue, slyly funky and seriously heady. The second digital bonus is a remix of 'Kabuki Playboy' by Monoblok & PSLKTR that

Gets even more heavy and physical with ripping bass notes, dumpy kick drums and serene, searching synths subtly lighting up the

backdrop.
This is a fine EP that really takes you to another world entirely thanks to the studious production and great sense of mood
throughout. As such, Vosper are very much a duo on the rise.

Following various releases over the recent years , Hamid launches H+ , home for experimentations and collaborations .
With HPLS001 He delivers four hazy and intricate cuts .
All attempts share a similar touch but yet explore slightly different articulations of the genre.

New project Synthetic Gold Records promises not only new material, but also represses from selected labels and digitally released tracks made available on vinyl for the first time. On SGR001 there's a top tune by Isherwood, one of the finest works to date by the UK producer, then an old classic by the Russian production duo and founders of Nervmusic, Easy Changes. On the Bside, there are works by Romanian producer Nu Zau and a wonderful little track by Welsh producer Tom Ellis. Top collection, all remastered, and beautifully presented in brown cardboard sleeves and on 180gram vinyl!

Exactly two years after his first Sirion Release we proudly present MASTRA´s second 12" titled "Out of Nowhere". This time around in collaboration with his buddy JON DONSON, who also released his first EP on Sirion in Spring 2010. The mood and structure of this latest coup entirely reflects the familiar yet different of the Bernese natives MASTRA & JON DONSON. For the first time in form of an exciting fusion of individuals signed by both distinct handwritings. "Out of Nowhere" is a deep and, owing to a impulsive bass drum, repetitive Deep House Track. This impression is given through a state of mind clearly offside of a classic course. Nevertheless its bits and pieces remain stuck and arent easily banished. PABLO BOLIVAR is known for his large spectrum of high quality compositions. Upholding that standard he delights with yet another impressive interpretation. The subtly chosen synth revive the base of the original track - an impulsive remix of vast variety.

A free download code for the whole EP is enclosed to this vinyl !! It's all over town: Menty's back! Who could be more suitable for lucky number 13 than Mr. Techabilly himself "Lucky 13" starts with the gamblers hymn "All Aces High", setting every saloon on fire. Your pick could be the Bunched remix, if you like it even more funny. Flipside is tearing the dancefloor down with "Later Penetrator", a rollin' rocker! "Günther" cools it down a bit, with a funky rhythm and a whistle along melody. This record is reeeaaal gone! Ready GO!

A bumping, carnivalesque, cosmic excursion, warmly analogue and swinging, featuring the return of DJ Sotofett to Honest Jons; then a kind of breather; and finally fifteen rounds of ecstatic, ruthless, spangled minimalism, looking straight into the eyeballs of Tippu Tip, and back out.

'Garland yourself in all the green there is — ivy green, olive green, fennel green, growing green, yearning green, wet sap green, new grape green, green of youth and green of branches, green of mint and green of marsh grass, green of tea leaves, oak and pine, green of washed needles and early rain, green of weeds and green of oceans, green of bottles, ferns and apples, green of dawn-soaked dew and slender green of roots, green fresh out of pools, green slipped under fools, green of the green fuse, green of the honeyed muse, green of the rough caress of ritual, green undaunted by reason or delirium, green of jealous joy, green of the secret holy violence of the thyrsos, green of the sacred iridescence of the dance...'
(From Anne Carson's new translation of Bakkhai, by Euripides.)

Leftrooms sister imprint designed for one off signings, Leftroom Ltd, serves up the strident Sourire du Sphinx two-tracker from Alex Celler just as Winter gives way.

In just a few years and a handful of standout releases Celler has established himself as one of the new school of tech-house lynchpins. Whether alone or with Anthea, his output for Area Remote, Cecille, Tuning Spork, Freak n Chic and Soweso has made him one of the most charted artists around (just check Resident Advisor).

Cellers ability to craft tight, engaging dancefloor grooves has made him popular but, always one to push forward, we see the London-based Greek develop his sound in Sourire du Sphinx.
The brawny and athletic drum programming Celler has made his name with remains intact for the perfectly suited Sourire Du Sphinx and Conundrum, but an unhurried and playful use of melodies bleeds through like never before.

In Sourire Du Sphinx, the tunes unfurl from a cornucopia of pitched percussion that switches from jarring to tuneful throughout and makes for an enthralling, jazz infused listen.

The rhythms of Conundrum are joined by a gentler set of chiming melodies and further augmented with haunting, drawn out vocals. Poignant and dancefloor is a rare combination but
Conundrum manages to pull off both with aplomb.

Acquiring success in the spring of 2009 with the release one of the year's biggest dancefloor tracks, the last twelve months has seen an amazing run of productions from Alex Celler, his is a story of talent married to dedication and resulting in increasing success.

With its catchy hook and stylish lustre, 'La Palma' (Arearemote) was one of RA's most charted tracks following its release and undoubtedly marked a turning point in Alex's career. Follow-up releases 'Trapped in Dub' (Tuning Spork) and 'North London Cutz' (Cinematic) have helped rapidly cement an energetic and intense tech house sound full of swing, tribal rhythms & deep basslines. Meanwhile, the 'Anthea & Celler' bombs which arrived (with friend and fellow Londoner Anthea) on Cecille and Freak n Chic have afforded them both notable exposure and also the opportunity to take their partnership out on the road, courtesy of their back-to-back DJ sets. This is a partnership that is close to the hearts of both.

A Greek national by right but a Londoner by choice, Alex's distinctive DJ style hints towards an obsessive attitude to crate digging - playing out an impressive blend of rare, old and modern tracks, his precise intuition for the right record on the dancefloor mirrors his own love of the party atmosphere.

Durable productions and mood-changing DJ sets have seen Alex feature as guest around the globe at respected parties at Ibiza's Underground, DC10, Amnesia and Space as well as others including Trouw (Amsterdam), Studio Martin (Bucharest), Arma 17 (Moscow), Amnesia (Milan) and at home in London - where he has become a main player in the city's underground house scene, guesting regularly at Fabric.

The coming summer season will see Alex play at the Space Opening Fiesta in Ibiza, and dish out releases on Arearemote, Cecille, air london and on Lauhaus' increasingly slick label Soweso.
