Ovum welcomes Leftbank Records co-boss Dudley Strangeways: a UK house and techno DJ rooted with serious residency stripes at the legendary Back To The Future Parties and appearances at the likes of Boiler Room. Hot off the back of releases on StarDub, Little Helpers and Made Of Concrete comes his Ovum debut, three tracks made constructed for one sole purpose... Melting minds in the darkest of rooms. 'Keep It Clean' is twistedly simple, a rump-busting roll in the drum department and paranormal pad leave space for a precision tuned tone that warps with the gravitas of a life support machine. Sinewy, cold and deliciously disconcerting, Dudley ensures funk and focus with delicately placed rhythmic elements and constant fluctuations. Next we find ourselves breaking into an early 90s warehouse as 'Transition' whisks us on an acid trip with flurries of jack and a lean lead line that slithers through the ever-mutating drums and occasional FX hailstorms. Devilishly futuristic and tailored for those deep long blends, the stripped back extensive nature of this guarantees mixing bliss. Truly, tracks built by a DJ, for DJs. Don't let this one slip...

Following a characterful introductory release The Untold Stories returns with a magical double vinyl VA, again in their customary yellow and black vinyl colour scheme, respectively representing the sun and the darkness. Entitled Chapter I, it brings to the fold a whole new selection of artists, consisting of 8 tracks, each full of the distinct spirituality which appears to be so central to the music the project releases. The first record, of two, begins with a work by the bright artist Furz, from the lands of South America, who skilfully combines his natural latin rhythm with sounds filled with a modern attitude to create an irresistibly extroverted groove. Then comes Suokas with 'Holy Moment', a new momentum, more spiritual, a track rich in ecstatic brass, wind, and horns, which all ring out exalting. Turning the record over we find an Andrey Zots work, where intricate percussion, highly charged with energy and attitude, traverse a mysterious landscape with cool and assured footwork. Concluding the first record is Ivan Lopez, releasing under his birth name for the first time, with a beautifully creative work, in which rich earthy sounding percussion provides the momentum through an air at once sensual and ethereal. The second record begins in the midst of a wild imagination, the track 'Interne' by Pheek, full of primal rhythm, the heat of a meeting, all very ritualistic. Then comes Shcaa's track 'Exil', a dark mood with confident gait, a work seemingly with conflict of body and mind, as the vocal evocatively suggests 'Get yourself together', adding to the ominous mystic. The final side begins with the Suburbs masterful piece 'Regarde le ciel': filled with monstrous sounds of transformation and succinct strong bass which push through a mystical air, all at once in harmony with the laid-back and attractively arrogant step of the groove. Out of this masterful darkness we come to the final track 'Never stop' by Mikael Stavostrand featuring K.atou, which in light and positive mood brings to an end the first chapter of The Untold Stories

Peripheral Minimal is proud to announce the forthcoming album, 'Aus Den Anti-Imperialistischen Tagebu¨chern', by In Namen Des Volkes.

INDV is the brainchild of Hamburg resident Matthias Schuster (also of Bal Pare, Das Institut,Geisterfahrer and others), and creates a more heavy-weight style of Minimal Synth in the spirit of D.A.F., or even early Front 242. The tracks were taken directly off cassettes and reworked with added vocals, whilst maintaining the original 80s recording techniques of 4-track and purely analogue instrumentation, strictly no plug-ins or digitalism here!

Matthias has been actively producing complex synthetic sounds since the late 1970s, having released seminal albums and singles on respected labels such as, Plastic Frog, Minimal Wave and Medical Records. His passion for all things analogue seems to be irrepressible, devoting a considerable amount of time to myriad projects each with their own unique qualities and sonics. He musically switches from Neue Deutsche Welle stylings, to Minimal Synth and proto-EBM with great dexterity and a rare continuing dedication.

The album is presented in a luxurious digipak and limited to 300 copies. Recorded between 1980 - 2015. Artwork by Kilgore Trout.

We're back with a record made by the young and talented crew member Julian Alexander. This guy already did some damage on Dungeon Meat, Adult Only and Blind Box but this is his first solo EP for us. The mighty Ferro made a spicy remix to top it all off.. Get your Copy!

Although still relatively young, Matt Star started his career in the late nineties followed by his first vinyl release in 2006. His music has since appeared on the likes of Hypercolour, Cocoon, Repeat Music, Rawax and many more. Following an appearance on the label as part of our latest mix CD ('Leftback Vol.1) Matt now joins the Leftback roster for his first' full EP on the label accompanied by a remix by label heads Michael McLardy & Dudley Strangeways.

finally repressed!

A classic science fiction soundtrack album - outstanding & masterfully executed.
Dallas techno producer Convextion has released his first album in 10 years. 2845 is the first long-player from veteran producer Gerard Hanson since 2006's self-titled album for Down Low Music. It arrives on a.r.t.less, the sub-label of Don Williams' Mojuba Records. Despite gaining a strong reputation during the late '90s and early 2000s with a string of atmospheric 12s for labels such as Matrix, VEXT and Tektite Recordings, Hanson has kept a low profile for much of the last decade. Earlier this year he reemerged with a 12 on Acido. Hanson's music has been compared to the catalogue of Chain Reaction and Basic Channel, and his 1997 track 'Ebulience' featured on FACT's list of the 25 best dub techno tracks of all time.

Raw machine funk from an intergalactic mind - Hakim Murphy brings us two contrasting sides of classic analog jams, Chicago style. On the A-side, 'Toms From Space' and 'Bgstyle' both have a melodic nostalgia, the former with pads and drum accents that are almost conversational, the latter's ringing synth lines cleaving more to the Jamal Moss school of machines-gone-wild, but still in an introspective mood. The B-side is a heavier affair, 'StompsB' coming at you with a barrage of snares, claps and toms that will tickle the more adventurous dancers out there. By 'TF3_2' the machines are in pure revolt, battery draining and sounds escaping in fits and starts - avant-garde chicago house, no questions asked.

Two years after his 'In A Rush' EP, Lawrence is back on Smallville with another release dedicated to the island of lunacy and love: Manhattan! Approved by visionary dancers from all around the globe, Smallville41 presents three enthusiastic tracks- the pulsating tech-jazz ballad 'Nowhere Is A Place", the title track featuring Ghostly International's most wanted Heathered Pearls and a particular forward stepping bouncer sending greetings from Sten. The cover artwork shows Stefan Marx's favorite flower shop on Hester Street, Manhattan.

Rubber is new label from The Hague with a motley mixture of off-radar electronix for both the experimental clubber and home listener. Rubber001 is a bold three-tracker. Mannequin Records head-honcho Alessandro Adriani hits the nail on the head with his secret weapons. Secondly, reigning from Finland, 0.5W pans across the room like running with titanium scissors. The cherry on top is this piece of Dutch drum-laden ''poetry'', probably on illegal medication, about a bicycle mechanic from The Hague by legends Unit Moebius, Reverend Cor Gout and Salo Mentale. All on 180 grams of white vinyl in a white jacket.

The debut release of Aspecto Humano, label based in Barcelona, is being presented as a sampler composed of five tracks, which clearly shows the label's preferences and what to be found in the future. The first track is the new version of Das Ding's classic 'H.S.T.A.', a jewel that has not been pressed on vinyl to date. Follows 'Extraterrestrial Biological Entity', a killer track made by master of horror Antoni Maiovvi, and finish the side Hyboid with his well known synthwave 'Telepath or Psycopath'. On the other side the debut of part of Aspecto Humano founders, Anbau, with their kraftwerkian 'Disco Z'. Ends the reference Synth Alien, one of the most reputated spanish artists at the moment, focused to burn the dancefloor with his 'Bailarina 'Autom·tica'.

According to numerology the number five is the most energetic and dynamic of all the single numbers. Allow this to be one of your
defining expectations when you start listening to '5', the debut album from Parisian maestro Djebali. The number not only marks the number of years that have passed since his label was conceived, but also represents the months it took to complete his very first long player. This is an important milestone in any artist's career, the first time they have the opportunity to create something timeless - a culmination of all of their experiences so far, and a statement about where they are, and where they're going.Djebali's entry into house music came via his early DJ forays with a college friend. The duo picked music that was a happy medium between his beloved hip hop and the 'super super hard' hardcore music Djebali's friend liked. From that point onwards he was hooked, eventually hitting the clubs and making all the right connections that led to his first release, with Jay Haze on Tuning Spork in 2008 Fast forward eight years and he's now head of his own label, ( djebali ), which he's using to self-release his debut LP. The album is a collection of dance floor-focused tracks, interspersed with a few experiments and unified by Djebali's love of deep, sultry grooves and classic house motifs, with a contemporary sheen of course. Djebali has been locked away in a purpose built studio for almost half of 2016, spending days on end crafting this collection of 12 tracks. The studio started out life as an empty shell, which Djebali filled out with his collection of vintage gear, patching all the equipment together from scratch and investing his money in new machines to really make the album extra special. His extensive list of gear includes the classic MPC3000, a Roland TR909, the Mozart AMEK 40 mixing desk, dynamic effects units, Moog voyager, Roland SH-101 and the Roland SH-09 to name a few. Everything track on the album was not only made using analogue gear, but was also worked upon in tandem with everything else.To keep the music c ohesive, he maintained a working process that involved working on all the projects on this album in the same session. So for each session he would work on all the tracks, injecting a unified vibe throughout and establishing a new method in his creative process. The result is 12 instant classics, from the Intro with its delicate chimes and cosmic squeaks, into 'Flamingo' a solid groover with that unmistakable Djebali feeling. From there it's non-stop grooving, with 'Nineties Playground' taking us on a deep trek into the playground in Djebali's mind, 'Mister Bastard' hypnotising us with its persistant allure and 'Heartgroover' delivering just the kind of sensual atmospherics we've come to expect from the Frenchman. It keeps coming with 'DB Cooper' giving out slightly eerie, warped vibes, before there's a break in proceedings with 'The Other Night',which features a spoken-word sample over a chilled, virtually beatless instrumental. 'God's Dream' demonstrates Djebali's ability to build layers of funk, incorporating distinct sounds to really stamp his identity on the music. 'Ideal Dawn' is an eyes-down number for the early
morning soldiers, followed by 'Passion' with more playful use of pads, bleeps, bass and minimal percussion. As we approach the end oF the long-player, the energy and positive atmosphere continues with 'Seven Blessings', a glorious roller that encompasses everything Djebali is about. The experimental clip 'Hidden Interlude' leads into the twelfth and final track, a collaboration with good friend John Dimas called 'Suzaku', a low-slung down tempo workout with a heavyweight b-line and lots of hip hop chatter buried way down in the low end. By the time the last note is played, '5' has taken you on an invigorating and enlightening journey into the world of Djebali, a young master who has injected all of his energy, dynamism and experience into a remarkable long-player.
