Blackstrobe Records proudly presents BSR009. 1997: while the filtered house of the French Touch flounders in its death throes, 'Paris Acid City' by Black Strobe, a long, meandering acid track - melancholic and laced with poison - helps reintroduce house music into clubs. 2011 & 2012: Rebotini has had the good taste to turn over some of his favourite Black Strobe tracks such as 'Me And Madonna' and 'Italian Fireflies' to the younger generation, people like Munk, Wagner , Hey Today! or Rico... This new Black Strobe EP is announcing a new album in 2013 after the ' Boogie in Zero Gravity ' of summer 2012. Black Strobe new band, new sound and new boogie ! Sexy & Smart remixs from house & disco producers from all over the world in february 2013.

Warehouse Find! - Test Pressing!

It seems like ages since we last had Roberto Rodriguez on the label with his excellent Be Somebody back in 2008, so we're plenty happy to welcome him back for a long overdue follow up. Roberto clearly hasn't just been sitting on his arse the last 4 years however, having established the Serenades label which released his own LP Dawn last year, as well as putting out the killer Thinking Of You release on Fina plus numerous remixes for rock solid labels such as Let's Play House, On The Prowl, Moodmusic and 2020 Vision. Those familiar with Roberto's productions and credentials will know he has a fine ear for disco and 90's house born out of years collecting records and DJing in the best clubs in his native Helsinki.
Kicking off with Dance Like Nobody's Watching, we see Roberto tread confidently into pure, unadulterated retro house territory with NJ organ stabs, swinging 909 drum groove and choice vocal hits.
Oxymoron keeps things a little deeper with tracky filtering chords and driving drums resulting in a garage-influenced feel with bucket loads of raw attitude.
Finally we have The Black Madonna on board for a remix of the title track. The Chicago producer impressed us recently with her brilliant disco-infused tracks on Stripped & Chewed and Home Taping labels and thought her the perfect choice to contribute to the release. Here she delivers a lesson in stripped back Chicago warehouse vibes keeping everything to a bare minimum for maximum club bump. Kick, claps and piano stabs form the basic groove as she confidently develops the arrangement slowly and surely.

After the success LOVE REVOLUTION's 1st release, the New York house label returns with another sweet 12"! This split four track EP begins with a two cuts from MONTEL that carry dope 90's house dub-like grooves. On the flip 2 BIT CREW go deep underground with "GET TOGETHER" & "YOU KNOW I LOVE IT".

Godzilla Kebab is back with it's superb second release featuring artists from St.Petersburg, Moscow and Glasgow!
Don't miss this dope 4 tracker which is dripping with classic 90's style house beats and vibes.
It's a strictly limited vinyl only release and is pressed on heavyweight 180 gram wax!

true house music classic, Alcatraz's 'Giv Me Luv' returns early-2013 on the 1trax imprint with a wealth of remix talent stepping up, including H-Foundation, Two Armadillos, Doc Martin, Dodha, Shenoda and Secret Society.

Originally released in 1995 on Deep Dish's Yoshitoshi imprint, 'Giv Me Luv' represented some of the finest post-tribal, New York influenced house music around. With possibly the most recognisable stabs in house history alongside the titular vocal refrain and crunching drums, the Victor Imbres and Jean Phillipe Aviance production was undoubtedly the biggest record of the year and saw re-releases on countless labels around the world.

Now, 1trax, have put together the first remix package in the release's history that truly compliments the original's house anthem status. From the modern West-Coast H-Foundation interpretation to Shenoda's distinct UK version, each mix provides a welcome new slant. Giles Smith and the late Martin Dawson's Two Armadillo's project deliver a deep, impeccably judged take while 1trax stalwarts Dodha and Secret Society provide brooding and slo-mo takes respectively. Doc Martin, as you'd expect from a true house master - also nails it.

A bonefide house classic being reworked by some of the genre's finest talents, old and new, is an enticing prospect and this package delivers across the board.

[Q] CD 17 | JACK HOLIDAY & MIKE CANDYS - The Riddle Anthem (Original Mix)

Following an acclaimed debut artist album earlier in the year and sell-out, crowd-surging gigs at the summer's major festivals, The 2 Bears have sharpened their claws and groomed their fur in anticipation of their latest project, 2 Bears 1 Love.
Born out of a mutual love of house, soundsystem culture and jerk chicken, 2 Bears 1 Love is a Caribbean-flecked mix of brash beats and dutty rhythms, overlaid with Raf's inimitable gruff vocals. And featuring great hairy pawfuls of original The 2 Bears tracks and remixes.
This 12 inch sampler, limited to 400 copies, compiles four of the juiciest, most succulent cuts from the album; aiming to impart a taste of this thrill a minute ride through the minds of London's hairiest producer/DJ duo!

TRACK LISTING

Crosstown Rebels continue to demonstrate their incredible aptitude for astute and diverse A & R by unveiling One Seven Six and their first release 'Islands In The Sky', a carefully concocted blend of organic electronica oozing with pop sensibility and two killer Brennan Green remixes!!
One Seven Six aka Matt Allchin & James McCool are a writing/production duo from London that fuse boutique quantum philosophy with loose musical morals, introducing you to the deep armchair of your mind.

It's growing desire to introduce this new EP from an upcoming artist A. Skomoroh, who brings us a techno progressive sound with its own unique melodic danceable style!!

Nice analogue latin house tracks, with 'Mushroom Samba' even reminding of early Derrick May remixes... Nice!

A1. SHIVERS* - "Love Falls' crawls up your neck like a dark anticipation. Delicate beats smoothly build to a deep bass line, until a sexy female vocal disrupts the relentless groove of the track desperately screaming: "Love falls on me". It's pure emotion - feel the raw energy boosting out of the core of your body until you hit that climax and the synthesised sounds of a tuba crys out in a dance march that you will never forget - carrying you home in ecstasy... welcome to the signature sound of SHIVERS*

A2. DANIEL DEXTER, a dear friend of our Mother's house, gives the remix a dirty, unexpected loop doing what he does best: very old school house music that has made him famous as an artist of Poker Flat. Short vocal shouts are accompanied by warm synthie steps creating a sound reminiscent of Chicago house at it's peak.

B1. THYLADOMID, this crazy lord of darkness, this stickler for details, shows off his whole manifoldness, combining a bouncy beat with a seductive groove. He carves out the coolness of the track, accentuating it with his own recorded voice that are neither male nor female or both at the same time. You'll be left behind puzzled and stunned by the power of the dark side.

B2. SHIVERS* - "Strangers in the Dark" playfully tells a story of mystery and intrigue. Whispered secrets create a sense of confusion with Dada influenced vocal lines, whilst at the same time - they give protection and warmth that cradles you through the track, holding you tight like loving motherly arms. The second breakdown creates a new mood as a deep melodic bassline grows and swells up from below, it finally rises to overcome the darkness - and opens up the veil of light and finally you catch a glimpse of that wicked SHIVERS* funk.

Freche Fruchte Recordings boss Alex Alterskye teams up with Humandrone (Lost My Dog, Snuff Trax, We Play House) and Out In The Sticks (Disco Deviance) for an EP of deep underground house grooves. The lead track on the label's first vinyl EP is Humandrone's analogue and emotional re-rub of Alex's raw, deep and groovy 'You'll Be Right', while Alex's other original 'Always With You' is a heads-down tracky affair. Rounding off the EP, Sydney-based enigma Out In The Sticks who provides the perfect balance between old-school Chicago house feeling and polished production values in his remix of 'Be Good To me'.

From an early age Alex Alterskye has had a huge interest in electronic music from the jacking sounds of Chicago through to Germanic tech house. Keen to avoid pigeon-holes, Alex works on the principle that people want to go out and dance, but they want to have their musical boundaries expanded with forward thinking underground tracks that really get the floor moving. His music has been supported by Mic Newman, James Johnston, Chris Duckenfield and loads more.

Humandrone is a project by Japanese producer Takaaki Shibuya. After a move to Tokyo he established his own label Canaria Schallplatten with DJ Mary&Kent before going on to release music for Lost My Dog, Snuff Trax, We Play House, Burek and more - penning tracks played by Andrew Weatherall, Glimpse, Ralph Lawson and Jimpster. Humandrone makes rhythm machine-conscious music through the full use of hardware equipment and calls his style of music "science-fictional street music".

Out In The Sticks is the mysterious Sydney based producer with releases on Disco Deviance and support from Lee Burridge, Kelvin Andrews, Inland Knights, Fred Everything, Pete Herbert, Trus'me, James Holroyd, Paul Woolford, Simon Baker and many more.

MASSIVE NEW BASTO SINGLE REMIX FROM OLAV BASOSKI.

(SOLID RED VINYL) Nocturnal Groove present a reworking of Sylvester's 80's anthem by two of the house music's founding fathers Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper; disco credentials don't come more reputable than this. B. Slade lays down a fresh new vocal and the production is brought into the digital age on this slick reworking of one of discos most recognisable melodies; bouncier, a little bit faster and primed for a party. Get ready to re-educate the younger house generation with this. Meme takes a high energy disco approach. Pumping best describes the South American's efforts, with plenty of phaser on the melody catapulting you straight into space.

Straight from Cologne-Mülheim, we proudly debut with our first release on Technology Gap 001, with some deep as its gets straight up House Music accompanying your personal summer madness. Lovers of classy deep house should no doubt find much to admire about Breitbankaters three-tracker. Go hunt, its good for you!
