Joey Longo has had a long & varied music career since the 1980s, from regular global DJ spots to producing hip hop records for KRS ONE to spearheading the deep NYC house sound that he is most well known for.

"The raw shit" is a classic Pal Joey EP, featuring a handful of his trademark hip hop & jazz infused tracks, all sample laden & with dope chopped up drums & ultra deep synth pads that occupy that sweet late night spot somewhere between the Burrell Brothers & MAW. Released in 1995 & still sought after by music lovers today the EP is the perfect marriage of House music with b-boy sensibilities, raw indeed!

Remastered, repressed & re-released for 2015 in conjunction with King Street records, New York City.

Joakim wishes to say few words about his new new ep: ' 'Each Other' is one of my favourite tracks on Tropics of Love and the most emblematic of a direction I'd like to explore - slower, more soulful, more sensual.
This song wouldn't have existed without the collaboration of Akwetey Orraca-Tetteh. I worked with Akwetey about two years ago on the soundtrack of the artist film Grosse Fatigue by Camille Henrot (who then went on to win a Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale). We met through a common friend, and I didn't know that Akwetey was one of the founding members of Dragons of Zynth, a New York band I'm a big fan of. I asked him to come by my place to rehearse some pieces of the soundtrack he speaks/raps/sings on. When we took a break, I played him the demo of a song I didn't really know what to do with. A great idea: half an hour later, we had the lyrics; an hour later, Akwetey's vocals were recorded, in two takes; the track was there, it had become 'Each Other'.
Then came the remixes. DJ Slow spontaneously submitted a remix to me, although we'd never met. But I knew his work with Pelican Fly and as a DJ, so I was very flattered, and he managed to capture the essence of the track and get it to softly transform. A/JUS/TED is a duo from New York composed of Teddy Stuart and Justin Strauss, a legend of the Big Apple: he knew the Paradise Garage, deejayed at the Mudd Club for years, was a member of the band Milk & Cookies - he's a real figure of the Golden Age of New York underground. They also spontaneously asked me to remix the track, and having heard their versions for Holy Ghost or Blood Orange, I was totally sold. Finally, Vicram is a new French artist that I approached, he's quite mysterious and the few tracks and demos I have heard from him tell me he has great potential.'

More essential Burrell related goodness from the vaults of Nu-Groove. This time the brothers collaborate with Basil Thomas aka the wonderfully named Basil Hardhaus on "Make Me Dance", another stomping NY Garage House smasher from 1991. It's all here, vocal mixes, dubs, shout outs to all the radio and club DJ's of the day, the record store and promotions people and most importantly - the regulars and dancers of NYC's legendary Shelter club where the brothers were regular fixtures!

On the flipside there's more Garage pressure in the shape of the grooving "For The Underground" and 2 separate mixes of the much sampled (but never bettered!) "Black Man". All the tracks included here have that deep, late night, classic sound that is instantly recognizable as the Burrell Brothers, sultry vocals, warm pads & heavy, swinging, raw drum beats!

"Make Me Dance" has always been one of the tougher 12"s to track down from the enviable Nu-Groove catalog. Now it's here, back again, re-mastered, re-pressed and re-issued in conjunction with the Burrell brothers and Nu-Groove records. Complete with original label artwork. One for the real House heads!

After becoming an iconic figure at Electric Minds club events in recent years Heidelberg's Move D is heading in the same direction release-wise as he gears up for his second consecutive release on the label arm of the club night. The ever-reliable bastion of Disco-inspired House returns to the fold with a sumptuous slice of melancholic psychedlia in the shape of 'To The Disco '77''. A formidable assembly of the world's top electronic music talent by anyone's measure, but put in the context of one album, it makes 'Content' a strong contender for compilation of the year from the tracklist alone.

Berlin's new hottest residents Eric Volta & Sebastian Voigt team up once again, this time bringing their infectiously deep and dark edge onto the Visionquest imprint. With intoxicating dreamy synths, title track 'Words And Chance' opens up into real groover with the seductively haunting lyrics from rising artist Forrest adding a new dimension. On the flip one quarter of the Visionquest power force Lee Curtiss takes the reins to deliver a chugging dancefloor ready remix with effective play on the vocal. Eric Volta then goes solo with 'One Last More' riding out through rolling percussion with beautiful textures.

Having both spent time in London Eric Volta & Sebastian Voigt have a shared connection to the infamous Lo*kee Sunday parties, with Sebastian being a co-founder and Eric a resident from 2011. The pair also released the hugely successful '42 Weeks' on My Favourite Robot.

Really making his way, Eric made his debut on Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird Records and has since released and remixed on labels such as My Favorite Robot, Ellum Audio, Nurvous Records and Exploited Records. DJing from the age of 15, Sebastian is now a regular at the likes of fabric, Space in Ibiza and many clubs in his hometown Berlin, such as Tresor, Katerholzig and Weekend Club.Up and coming Forrest, co-founder of Amadeus Records, is one to keep an eye on. Having recently had his first vinyl release on Play It Down, he also has an album on the way on Louie Fresco's Mexa Records.

First class DJ, producer and live artist, Lee Curtiss has been busy playing all over the world both solo and alongside his Visionquest boys. Catch them this year on their Visionquest Thirteen tour playing 13 special dates at 13 amazing venues. It's definitely a show not to miss!

The latest offering from Ornate Music sees the welcome return of HomePark to the label. The duo of Rob Glassett and Sam Fussell were last seen round these parts in 2012 with the Fill Emptiness EP, which followed on from sterling singles for bliq, Enterbt and 3rd Strike before that. In the meantime, the duo have been seen moonlighting on Courtesy Of Balance, but this new release marks the first outing for the pair in a good long while. Rob Glassett has been busy developing his own Fold project with a string of 12"s for labels such as Electric Minds and ManMakeMusic, but behind the scenes there has been plenty of activity in the HomePark studio leading up to these four tracks.

The style Glassett and Fussell deal in remains ever consistent, fusing crisp machine rhythms with plush chords and strings, using the finest ingredients to whip up impeccable house music to burrow comfortably into any number of nocturnal situations. With melodic soul at its core, this EP carries the Ornate message on perfectly from previous flag-bearers Ka One & St-Sene and Jordan in a blissful blur of blue-hued synths and bumping drums.

The first release of the year from Hot Trax comes from the German duo Raumakustik, with Jamie Jones on remix duty. Having had recent releases on a Grain Audio, Ipoly & Mangue Records, 'Raider' is their debut on the Hot Creations subsidiary.

Raumakustik deliver a high energy and rhythmic track with 'Raider'. The industrial tech-heavy sounds are perfectly mixed with catchy drums and a calling bell. Over on the B-side, Jamie Jones delivers a darker remix to drive music lovers to the dancefloor.

Sebastian and Volker are Raumakustik. They have been creating music together for a number of years and believe in creating tracks that will not only bring listeners to the dancefloor but also stay in their memory.

Jamie Jones launched Hot Trax in 2012 after wanting to create a label that moved away from the well-known and popular sounds of Hot Creations. It has been described as a label for the 'headstrong' with previous releases coming from Patrick Topping and wAFF.

The saga continues with Part 2 of Nathaniel X's 3 part debut album - Last Supplement. Taking the baton from Part 1, Part 2 is yet another authentic assembly of mind, body, and sound.

Citzennn imparts his eagerly anticipated debut album, 'Human Interface', on Crosstown Rebels on 29th June; manifested through technology and exploring it's relationship with human condition.

Awarded the title of DJ Mag's 'Breakthrough DJ' in 2013, Citizenn has won favour across multiple disciplines for his retro-futurist style. A film director in a former life, his affinity with working with technology led him to this first album, inspired by the direction it was taking humanity. The title track cracks the album into a dystopian tone reminiscent of artists such as Burial, Floating Points and Flying Lotus. Tracks like 'Infatuation', 'Control' and 'Gone' welcome in warmth with R&B-tinted smooth vocals, layered over textured beats that sit safe with artists such as Scuba and James Blake. Tommy Vicari Jnr brings us a deeply playful side A track, well suited for those special after hours. Anton Zap names his track after Crucifix Lane, Cartulis' "home" for more than 5 years before it was forced to close earlier this year. He recreates that stomping ground atmosphere with this B track, sure to keep a dance floor pulsating during the peak of the night.
