Ein ganzes Jahr ist seit dem letzten Release der beiden Suol-Macher Chopstick & Johnjon vergangen. Mit der "Roots EP" schicken sie nun den ersten Vorboten ihres angekündigten Debüt-Albums in die Welt hinaus. Gesangliche Unterstützung leistet hier Signaljacker von der UK-Band Stateless (Ninja Tune, K7). Zwei verschiedene Mixe gibt es vom Titeltrack - der Originalmix kommt melancholisch daher, während der Alternative Mix sommerliche Leichtigkeit versprüht. Außerdem enthalten ist mit "Still Breathing" ein Track, der die beiden Berliner so deep und dubbig zeigt wie nie zuvor.

Neue Maxi von Radio Diffusion aus Wien! Hans Staudinger und Sebastian Badics, die beiden Macher des Duos, haben zwar ihre Wurzeln in der Downtempo-Szene des Wiens der 90er-Jahre, die Musik von Radio Diffusion ist aber eine sehr zeitgemäße Melange aus einem gewitzten Drum-Programming, heftig schweren Basslines und Elementen aus House und Techno. Die Remixe kommen von Roman Rauch, MOTSA und Nico Pusch.

Sidney Charles & Santé have teamed up again to forge the 'Forever EP' on Hot Creations with Russ Yallop on remix duty. Those that have witnessed their epic sets playing together will know the vibrant energy they create and this latest offering stands stead to them.

The title track 'Forever' uses dynamic claps, an indelible beat and a simple but effective vocal that ties all the elements together. With a playful production technique at its heart, this is a cut made for summertime. Things get a little darker with 'Mogli', morphing high-pitched, glitchy sounds alongside a hissing beat. On the flip side, Russ Yallop remixes 'Forever' to make the whole track bounce with a heavy and thick bassline.

Hamburg-born Sidney Charles has only been releasing music for four years but has already had a string of successes on labels such as 8bit, Moda Black, AVOTRE and VIVa. Berlin-based Santé is also involved with all areas of music as he DJ's, produces, and is building on his own record label AVOTRE. Sidney Charles & Santé have previously released on Hot Creations with 'All Night Long' on the 'Hot Summer Jams' album.

Russ Yallop is a key member of the underground house scene and is no stranger to Hot Creations; he has previously released 'Traffic' and 'System Crank' with them, whist also regularly DJing at their worldwide events. He is also an established member of the Crosstown Rebels family after first releasing with them in 2010.

Crazy P return with the final remixes from the When We On album. These three remixes were the exclusive new mixes on the recent digital only remix album, but it's only fair that remixes of this quality come out on wax.
Burnski personally requested the parts to Beatbox to make a mix for his own sets, but once we heard it we knew it had to find a wider audience. Burnski really knows his way around real musical parts, and has kept the vibe of the original intact but has made it his own in his superb deep house style.

Bonar Bradberry is one half of PBR Streetgang and good mates with Crazy P, his mix was a staple in Ibiza last season at the PBR residency at Space, and from a few other lucky DJ's.
Finally Wolf & Lamb have always been supporters of Crazy P and repay the favour of remix with a beautiful chilled version of Wecanonlybewhoweare that features some slinky guitar licks from Slow hands.

GLENN UNDERGROUND drops two soulful deep house groovers. "FUNKY GOOD TIME" is on the A-side and the deep "GI DISCO", complete with guitar and lush key overlays, rocks the B-side. Another winner from this Chicago house legend. Out on GLENN's own STRICTLY JAZ UNIT imprint

Soul of Hex is the collaborative project of 4004 and Sebastien Vorhaus, two producers currently based in Tijuana, Mexico. Together the pair issue its 'Lip Reading EP' on Mexico City-based CVMR imprint, offering a single original track alongside remixes from Vin Sol,Ny*Ak, and a rework from Chicago house veteran Larry Heard (a.k.a. Mr. Fingers), which finds the time-tested talent digging a bit
deeper into Soul of Hex's "Lip Reading," placing a low-rolling groove beneath the track's hi-fi percussion clicks and jazzy keyboards.

Kito Jempere makes his Let's Play House debut this June with a captivating four-track EP 'Amended Wonders' featuring a remix from Palms Trax.

The St Petersburg based producer has been going from strength to strength since releasing his debut album 'OBJECTS' in 2014, which recently picked up a heavy hitting pack of remixes from HNNY, Juju and Jordash and Let's Play House co-founder Jacques Renault. For his first foray on the New York imprint Kirill Sergeev dishes up three robust originals alongside an organic re-imagining from Lobster Theremin affiliate Palms Trax.

EP opener 'Kusya' is a powerful assortment of whooshing synths and dubby breaks that delves into the tougher side of house while the flipside features a blinding remix of 'Kiya Kiya' where Palms Trax constructs an organic summertime groove over bright xylophonic stabs and crisp shifting percussion. The B-side get's underway with the expansive basslines and honeyed pads of title track 'Amended Wonders', on the flip the successful alchemy of hefty kicks and stripped back hooks illustrates the Russian producers beautifully subtle yet dynamic approach to production that gives his originals that raw traditional feel.

For a digital bonus - Kito Jempere's original of 'Kiya Kiya' grows out of a choirlike cluster of voices washing over dominant drum patterns and bright synths.

Moda Black's Little Black Book series was inspired by the desire for a new, more diverse, more personal platform for artists to express themselves. An album, remix album, compilation, mix series, autobiography and photo-book all rolled into one - a chance for artists to reveal a wealth of new material, whilst also dipping into their back-catalogue and allowing it to be re-imagined by new artists. The Little Black Book gets inside the artists' minds and looks to the future and what's to come.

For the second edition of Little Black Book, the reigns have been handed to the prolific and much loved Groove Armada. From early inspiration courtesy of 90's rave collective DiY to the worldwide success of six albums, long summer s in Ibiza and global live tours - with such a storied history, it's hard to image where they'd even begin with a project like this. The boys brought the curtain down on their live tours at Brixton in 2010 because they wanted to go back to basics, House music and the warehouses where GA started - cue a series of releases on labels from Hypercolour to Hot Creations.

The mix on CD1 Groove Armada seven new original pieces of music as part of a 77 minute journey that also includes Tony Allen, Candi Staton, re-edits of a host of GA classics and their rework of Arthur Baker anthem, Rockers Revenge.

The second disc then sees 12 excellent producers redefine classic Groove Armada records, resulting in some spectacular new versions of tracks like 'Love Sweet Sound', 'Superstylin', 'Chicago' and 'I See You Baby' from the likes of Kolsch, andhim, Huxley, Jaymo& Andy George, JorisVoorn, PillowTalk, Emperor Machine, Marco Faraone, Chaim, Hauswerks, Walker & Royce and wAFF.

Included in the special notebook version of the release is Andy Cato's account of the GA journey from Castlemorton to L.A too - one that has taken them right back to the start. "People were saying if you're going to write new material you need to put it out on a major, get the band back together, unleash the machine. But we don't want to do that. We want to play and make house music, and that's all'.

Boutique French house label Vibes And Pepper has readied its next EP. This one is a Various Artist outing that pairs the new school talents of Tomska and New Jack City with the old school and enduring qualities of James Duncan and Jeremiah. Tomska has appeared on the label before back in 2012 with his Mental Raw EP, whilst New Jack City are Guido Verbaal & Rogier Verbaal, a fast rising duo with plenty to say for themselves and a recent release on Tomorrow is Now, Kid! As for James Duncan, he is a trumpet player, producer and improviser who has worked with Metro Area and Morgan Geist as well as for DFA Records over the course of the last 15 years. The final introduction brings us to Jeremiah; an Austrian who has been making house music since way back in the early nineties on labels including Balance Alliance, Grow! And Dee-Jay Recordings. James Duncan goes first with 'Track #2', a soulful affair with lazily jazzy chords and muffled vocals bottled up into a teasing house groove. The drums feel alive and the repeated melodic phrasing brings some nice tension to proceedings. Tomska's 'Stolen Moments' is a typically thick cut track with solid kick drums underpinning spoken word musings and colourful little melodies. It's physical and will make you dance without losing the important human connection. Jeremiah's 'Keep On' is much the same: this one has a classic feel to it, with warm pads softening the effect of busy, live sounding percussion. Some firing vocals help set the groove alight and re-call the classic days of 90s house with relying on the same tried tropes. Finally, 'Slow It Down' does not slow it down, but instead invites you to move your body with huge rubbery kick drums and shuffling claps. Dulcet vocal tones and garage-inflected percussion make this a hugely vibey affair to finish off another timeless house EP.

030303 strikes again with this quirky, ultra-fresh and hard to pinpoint 4-track twelve. Hills I Want You is a very rich harmonious collage of staccato rhythms, abstract vocal snippets, classic strings and piano house; twisted dance floor material. Zeroz-On, bangs it out in a static, stomping way where heavy, in your face synth sounds take turns in melody making with mid range Roland bass lines. The Broke, the first track on the flip is again manically melodic, this time in conjunction with brutally distorted beats. The EP closes with the chilled out In Sight Out which features a mix of jazzy and mind bending melodies, this time with a slightly more subdued rhythm section. We highly recommend this twelve for fans of full on melodic acid with a distant reference to the classic rave era.

Russia's Art Crime seemingly came out of nowhere with his first record and it blew us all away at Phonica. Lead track 'Release' was pure nineties house nostalgia, a huge reverbed piano over skipping drums that became an instant shop classic. We just couldn't get it out of our heads!

Needless to say we reached out to Art Crime instantly, hoping to lure another 12' of material from him and with the 'Obsession EP' we are blown away with the results. Art Crime has delivered another anthemic record, four tracks of melancholic house music, sounding both of the past and future.

The title track 'Obsession' is another massive piano laden House beauty, permeated with shim- mering synth stabs. Up next is 'Show Interest', with its almost-oriental synth melody glowing over a cold arpeggiated electro pulse. On the flip, 'Eye Contact's glacial pads and piano are followed by 'Rise Fall Run', the most restrained track of the set, an etheral journey through the clouds.

As with his first 12', Art Crime is behind the front cover artwork, with the reverse based on Jack Featherstone's layout for our previous release.

This time Brian Cullen "BJAK" from Chicago, gives us an excellent and delicious "Dusk Til Dawn EP" with touches of deep and soulful grooves inside his special style, could not miss the collection of Bucketround, in this release, we have the opportunity to delight in a work of great quality for 2015, with the remix of the owner of Bucketround, "Manuel Costela" aka "Oval Future Face".

Stephen Brown is an institution when it comes to cutting-edge Detroit Techno made in Europe and therefore needs no introduction! Having recorded for legendary labels like Transmat, Djax-Up-Beats, Music Man, Subject Detroit and in recent times for rather new and promising imprints like Heliocentric Music, Skudge and Indigo Aera he has always been on top of the game since almost two decades and knows how to convince with his trademark hi-tech soul. His new release called Illuminace EP marks the return of Mojuba sublabel a.r.t.less and brings two killer tunes from the vaults of the Realtime label boss, while the a-side with SD1 aims clearly at the dancefloors of our beloved underground clubs, the b-side with Free & Easy comes along with a great portion of compelling emotions and funk!

Culprit's fall/winter season opens with 'Stars' - a truly global collaboration of London's Aidan Lavelle, Mexico's Robbie Akbal and Los Angeles' own, vocalist Shawni.

o+ The song organically sprung out of Culprit's second release of 2014, Balcazar & Sordo, Dance Spirit and disCerN's 'Calling For You,' which also featured Shawni's ethereal vocals and an Aidan Lavelle remix.

o+o Over the summer Lavelle has joined forces with Robbie Akbal - a veteran of the deep house scene and the owner of the widely respected label bearing his name. Their first song together, 'Solaris Night,' has made an impression on Get Physical's 'Full Body Workout.'

o+o+ With Shawni's sultry vocals the centerpiece, the track has the shimmering melodic quality, creating the open­air, nocturnal ambiance befitting the song's title.

o+o+o The pair of remixes come from two of Culprit's favorite producers - the ever­inspiring label regular Inxec and the Culprit debut of one of the young rising stars of the moment, Andre´ Hommen, who is best known for his work on Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint.

o+o+o+o Hommen delivers an epic burner of a rework, that builds and builds tension releasing it in a sweep of melody and voice. Inxec's deep and melancholy take provides another dimension to the single, rounding out the package nicely.

Visionquest's latest offering comes courtesy of the industrious Butch. Evoking ancient God's of the ancient times is the theme for Butch's latest release; and it's not hard to see why once you've had a listen to this one, which oozes with mysterious and mythical charm.
Butch is no stranger to the scene, in fact if anything he's become somewhat of a stalwart over the course of the 100 releases he has amassed on high profile labels such as Sei Es Drum, Rekids and Cocoon. Named 'Producer of the year' several times over the course of his career, he his renowned for his exceptional skills and his ability to work within a variety of electronic genres successfully.
In ancient Egyptian times Horus was the god of the sky and was characterised as a man with the head of the hawk. This one takes off initially with a barrage of otherworldly squeaks and bleeps which twist and turns until the introduction of a huge percussion section makes it clear that this is going to be an epic flight. Otherworldly vocal snips and samples lead the way until a juno-esque bass-line enters the foray and takes this one to a whole new level driving it - and the dance floor - until the very end.
On the flip we come face to face with Medusa, a gorgon from Greek mythology who's hideous features could turn men to stone. But contrary to it's title this one won't have you turning to stone, it will actually have you moving rather hypnotically along to its lush glockenspiel melodies and the ever evolving percussion which is filled with the most weird and wonderful sounds.
A great godlike double-header from Butch's and the Visionquest stable.
