The Koett & Wellbeck three track EP is effortlessly smooth and grooving cuts ranging from emotional square bass and pads move in '5', a Detroit-dedicated beatdown filtered piano business in 'Queensboro Bridge', and a really classy late night shake down entitled 'Selected Time'.
 

Our dreams have come true! Another multi artist release off of the 7 Days Entertainment label. The 'Like Father, Like Son' EP is the first of tracks that will be on the upcoming 'Like Father, Like Son' CD. Look forward to the CD in the coming months, said to be sure fire! This release comes after the recent drops of 'Groove' by Big Strick and 'Medication' by Generation Next. As the title suggests, Big Strick and Generation Next have come together to bring us three tracks that are made for the dance floor. 'Rain Dance' by Big Strick is the first song off of the new EP. It definitely has various aspects of deep house and soul of a Detroit native. The next song is 'And You Too' by Generation Next. From some of Nexts earlier works, there is a definite improvement. This is a groove where you can get up and dance as well as casually listen. The bass makes you move and it is accompanied by a simple yet affective drum pattern. The last track is titled 'Like Father, Like Son'. Generation Next and Big Strick collaborate to bring us a melodic dance tune. This track will be played in clubs around the world. Simple chords, groovy baseline and knocking drums. This 12' is one to be respected!

From the ashes of Well Rounded Records comes a new label riding the thin line between varying house and techno styles. Supporting tracks that will work on the floor but with twists and touches that will intrigue the sharper DJ and keener listener.

First up for us is BOXWORK.

Quietly crafting a solid reputation for the last couple of years on the UK underground, this long-awaited ep is a triple-prong launch into more functional club material but with surprising elements inside.

'PRESSUREFACE' is a tribal-house revival all on it's own terms. Pressing forward with an insistent chant and drum-riff factor, BW also finds ways to edit and fire-off one-shot samples that break up the action but never lose the flow....

THAT'S HIS TAKE has some ruff techno edge in it's drums which is somehow offset by samples we believe must be sampled from Jazz. An imaginative breakdown section introduces a languid trumpet motif which leads back towards the forceful groove.

MICHAEL JACKSON is catchy simplicity itself. A proper cheeky dj-tool and a half.

The second release from Dnaut is "Sketches of a Circuit" by Craig Sherrad. In the past, Sherrad has worked on labels such as Transmat. This EP kicks off with 'We Got Extasy' - a solid 4/4 with stormy clouds over alien life forms. 'Hot Pockets' is a clubby groove with fractured melodies and glassy lines. 'Energize' featuring Riot Baby, is a hip hop inspired, dusty beat with vocals. Rough and sexy. 'Mercury Electric' has bouncy beats, with a grubby bass line and layered synths. 'Sketches of a Circuit' is a soupy bit of ambiance with sporadic gently tumbling drums, blissful chords and the slightest ripples of percussion.

The breathtaking deep & different Detroit house EP that announced Patrice's entry into the house limelight. Entrancing, strings on the A1, blissfull vibes on A2, and heavy bass on the flip. The world's been waiting for this repress.

For the next instalment of Silver Network comes '1998' from Rhythm&Soul, the relative newcomer but rapidly rising Parisian/Madrilenianartist since the launch of his own label Slow Town in 2012. Characterized by blending the old with the new and drawing on influences from funk and old skool House, '1998' brings the heat with vocal samples, warm undertones and a melodic groove. Accompanied by tworemixers from the Lola ED fold, the fresh-faced but widely respected John Dimas brings a kickier version tailored for the club. Two deeper interpretations come from Djebali, the now established underground producer, following the continued success of his self-titled, viny'-only series ( djebali ). Silver Network is the longstandingimprint run by Jef K.Having developed a close working relationship with Rhythm&Soul, the pair now plan to launch a new label later this year,On A Mission Records. Keep your ears to the ground.

Sakro who is a young producer from Mexico, delighted us with these deep house gems. For the vinyl, he produced 3 original tracks. On the flip Zoe Zoe and Enoah Ballard rework George Maple with deep pads and pulsing drums that really makes you love the track more and more each time you play it.

We're celebrating 50 release on Local Talk and what better way to do it than welcome Alexander Lay-Far, the Moscow-based DJ and producer to the family.
We've been following Alex for some time now. Being a driving force behind soulful and eclectic music scene in Russia, releasing lot's and lot's of fantastic music on 4Lux, Tru Thoughts, City Fly, Glenview and gaining constant support from the likes of Jimpster, Laurent Garnier, Osunlade, Joey Negro, Move D & Recloose just to name a few.

Communcation EP contains three original tracks and a remix from Daniel Leseman and Hans Peeman aka Fouk.

The opening track Side 2 Side (I Just) with it's vocal sample cuts brings a unique mood and is a joyful disco and house jam, perfect for the summer.

Get On It! continues on the same vibe with its vocal samples, the punchy kicks, slapped claps and grooved percussions, this baby will drag you into a devilish dance in seconds.

Feel Like Making Dub is a late night groover that's both soulful and deep.
Last but not least is Fouk on remix duties. The dynamic duo rearranges the already familiar elements of the original from Side 2 Side and turns it into something that would fit perfect in any DJ set with a MCDE flavour.

British producer Scott Kemp drops '302' via the Turquoise Blue imprint this - featuring reworks from three on-point, current producers, namely Seph, DJ W!ld and Hector.

London's Scott Kemp has been bubbling away in the underground scene of his home turf for quite some time now, racking up material on imprints such as Mobilee, Hypertone and Lowroom, delivering a contemporary sound infused with dubby aesthetics and dark, moody rhythms. Here Kemp joins the Turquoise Blue roster, another step towards greatness for the up and comer as he sits alongside Laura Jones, Droog, Adam Shelton and Djebali in the labels catalogue.

Kemp's original mix of '302' opens the single here, a dubby, groove-led number driven by loose, strippedback drums, simmering sub bass and echoing low-end tones. While a sweeping spoken-word vocal line in the drawn out breakdown, strips things back to generate impact as the tracks swings back into action with additional growling subs thrown into the mix. Following Parisian artist DJ W!ld steps up to reshape '302', doing what he does best and riding out a raw 909 fuelled beat, while bumpy toms and rumbling bass drives the dance floor appeal, and tension building synth sweeps create an underlying ghostly atmosphere.

On the latter half of the release, heavily hyped Argentinian artist Seph reworks '302', the Dumb Unit / Bpitch artist delivers a refreshing interpretation which sees him infuse a subtle grit into the composition, bringing punchy analogue style drums to the forefront, while evolving ethereal pads meander around them, and a multitude of penetrating subs build an understated profound depth as they brilliantly warble around the foundations. Last up to close the single Desolat's Hector turns in his remix, the Mexican artist sticks his trademark hypnotic house stamp on the original cut, opting for clicky, glitched out beats, while raw chord stabs and swirling pads intensify the progressive groove and expansive dynamism."

H45 sees Manchester's Tomson (Freerange) & Eddie Leader (Hudd Traxx) colloborate with Chicago Legend Chez Damier. This project has been in a long time in the making and came about when Chez met Eddie at his House & Techno night 'Content' Manchester. Chez was at the start of his comeback and they were introduced by mutual friend Joshua, a former Prescription and Hudd Traxx Artist. The meeting resulted in Chez becoming good friendswith Tomson & Leader and laying down some vocals in the studio for the Manchester pair. H45 is a new catalogue number for the Hudd Traxx family

LPH's second release of the spring is also the NYC label's second split 12'. But instead of featuring a couple of sun-soaked L.A.-based outfits as with Cosmic Kids and Fingerpaint's Reality On The Horizon EP, label heads Nik Mercer, Jacques Renault, and James Friedman set out to Sweden to grab three tracks by M.D.C. (otherwise known as Muslim Disco Club) and Name In Lights, plus a remix by Studio Barnhus' Kornél Kovács.
The appropriately named Stockholm Stories EP kicks off with M.D.C.'s 'Alma,' a sultry snake-charmer of a boogie built around a funky bassline that's equal parts Middle Eastern groove and disco thump. The Kovács remix is decidedly more club-oriented—it prominently features police sirens and some very American vocal samples, including one by a certain Queen we all know well.
On the flip are two originals by Name In Lights, the production trio M.D.C. is a member of. 'Curious Yellow' is a moody, deep house burner with an elastic bass and elegant synth washes throughout. 'Blue Swede' runs with that vibe, but cuts to the chase, instead focusing on a more straightforward build, fortified with plenty of hi-hats and a bouncy, hypnotic hook that distorts your sense of time.
The record functions as a sort of dethawing agent helping us transition from the cold, severe, and dark winter into sunnier, brighter days ahead.

With its first three releases, Brit label Principal Records has set out its stall with a quality house and disco sound, and that continues here with a fantastic new EP from emergent talent Danimal Swainger.
Swainger is a Wigan pure breed with a love of Northern Soul and Warp Records.
He has released a number of edits that found plenty of favour with selectors everywhere, has appeared on the Kandinsky Grey label and was a resident DJ at Sheffield’s Dulo for four years.

His relationship with this label started with an excellent EP as one half of S&M (with Thatmanmonkz) and in solo mode Swainger is just as essential.

Opening his account here is 'Muzik', the laid back and deeply entrenched house groove that is awash with golden chords and sensual vocal ad-libs. Sturdy drums prop things up and the vibes remain warm, organic and inviting throughout, even when a lively bassline and whip snapping percussive flourish joins the fray.

Next up, 'T&A' is a beautifully louche and jazzy house number with real, live and organic sounding drums, a humid ambiance and long tailed pads that wistfully linger in the air. Raw, dusty hi hats and finger clicks pepper the lazy, melody strewn groove and place you right at the heart of some smoky basement club. It's a fine place to be.

Last but not least, the loose sounding drums of 'UUU' stop and start, building atmosphere as they go. Lazy Rhodes chords, clipped one word vocal snippets and tumbling drum fills all sound like they were recorded live and are stuffed with human feeling as a result.

This is a terrific EP of vibe laden house music that very much announces the arrival of a hot new talent in Daminal Swainger.

Christian Prommer is back on Compost Black Label with a new EP for the summer.

Uplifting and soulful vibes to enrich any open-air beach set, well, notwithstanding that these tracks would enlighten all dark cellar floors anyway. The beats, strings and harmonies form the "Hanging On The Dj Booth" EP are heavily inspired by a cool girl that loves to hang upside down on the DJ Booth at our favorite clubs in Munich - sometimes breaking the DJ booth and getting invoices from the clubs for the damage. Never paying them, but being upset about it, because she thinks that the clubs should pay her for her dancing and hanging on the DJ booth. I try to only play in clubs where this girl is around. If I could, I would marry her.

These tracks are part of the upcoming Christian Prommer album "Ambach" that will be released in October 2013 to celebrate the Compost Black Label issue 100.

Since Jasper & Maarten played at one of the first ever-Concrete party's called 'Twsted II', they knew this Parisian movement was something rare and unique.
As an ode they made these tracks keeping in mind these magic early Sunday morning hours. The result is two melodic and atmospheric influenced tracks. Their brother in crime Makam is responsible for the remix. Machine soul techno music are the keywords of this Paris-Amsterdam affair.
