With releases under a range of pseudonyms (Orpheus, Sir Leon Greg, Nite Vision) and support for his previous explorations of depth coming from the likes of John Heckle, DJ Deep, Aroy Dee, Chicago Skyway and Steffi to name but a few; once again Perseus Traxx unashamedly shows his nature on this release. Thoughts, feelings and emotions are by far
the most important influences on music, and capturing moments then translating into a musical form he once again documents the more personal elements of his life, taking you deep.
Perseus weaves a rich tapestry of emotions and desires using heavily weighted bass tones and skipping percussion that thread together with expansive strings and pads. These are married with more detailed melodies and modulated tones that shimmer in and out of the psyche as he uses analogue boxes and their warmth like a loom. This collection of music ranges from the deep and dreamy, to total transcendence within steady dance floor rhythms clothed in a warm yet spacious fabric of sound. Deep House, sometimes with a real sense of urgency that juxtaposes with it's inherent flights of fancy.

Manchester's very own Mr Scruff and NYC crate digger Ge-Ology remix Moscow's Lay-Far! Now that's what we call a truly international release. It's kind of a dream release for us at Local Talk as both Scruff and Ge-Ology have been on our 'we wanna get them on Local Talk plastic' list for quite some time.
Starting off we find Scruff going for a slight Disco(ish) rub where analogue synths bumps around with a dark but musical basement feel...but still jazzy! On the flip our man Ge-Ology who is riding high on the hype from his release on Theo Parrish's Sound Signature label goes on a deep and spaced out electronic house venture that is so edgy it hurts. Its that good good shit basically...enjoy!

Forever ahead of the curve, Matthew Herbert dropped this 3 track EP on Classic all the way back in 1996 and every track featured sounds like it could easily have been released yesterday. Such is the genius of Herbert, always managing to be one step ahead of most other producers, whether it's producing slamming house like 'You got to be moving', rolling emotive electronics like 'Fat king fire' or subtle, shifting percussion confusing jams like 'Housewife' all of his tracks retain this fresh energy that can't be pigeon holed. 'Classic Herbert' is exactly that, a 3 tracker that defies genre, celebrates the eclecticism of it's producer and still manages to be slamming (& classic) in the process! Essential stuff! This EP has always been tough to track down, proving to be a very sought after gem in the vinyl digging world. A repress was definitely needed!

Every home should have this record from the 2 of the originators of deep House! Virgo 4 were kicking out the most melodic, fathoms deep, complex emotional machine music before anyone else (them & Larry obviously!) had caught up with them & the "Do You Know Who Are?" EP from 1989 is as flawless as it gets, often imitated over the years but never, ever bettered!

Every single track on this slab of wax is a classic! Virgo manage to reach right inside & take us somewhere on every cut while maintaining an otherworldly sense of melody & rhythm, some of the playing on this record is incredible & so accomplished, "In A Vision" for example still sounds like it's beaming right at us from the future while "Take Me Higher" carries it's stately, Reggae-like vibe along smoothly while retaining enough bounce to keep the floor locked in.

Basically, "Do You Know Who Are?" is an almost perfect record. You need it. It's the truth.

After over 10 years out of press, very limited Vinyl re-pressing of the he extremely sort after DJ Assassin 'A Face in The Crowd' 12' on Cross Section Records. A total classic House track from 1998, that sounds even fresher today. The vocal is minimal, yet haunting and the bassline just rev's like a an engine, proper House music at it's finest. Supported for years by: Craig Richards, Villalobos, Mike Huckaby, DJ Sneak, Phil Weeks, Hector Morales, Monoman, DJ Mes, Chris Cutter, Cedric Maison, Marco Faraone, Boris Werner, to name a few.

Frits Wentink launches his new label Bobby Donny with 'Live Fast, Dwayne Young'. Bobby Donny has been set up to primarily feature Frits Wentink's own tracks, but focusing on the wonkier, more lo-fi house edge of his sound. The emphasis will be on tracks that are hardware jams on Rhodes, Juno 60 or mpc, then structured later.

Frits Wentink has already garnered a huge fanbase for his quirky, innovative and characterful house music on a number of forward thinking labels like Wolfskuil, 2020Vision, Heist and Wolf with his recent debut album, 'Rarely Pure, Never Simple' on the latter, gaining much critical acclaim.

His first EP on Bobby Donny opens with 'Dwayne Young', which puts the fun into funky with its deep vibe, filtered vocals and creative samplings. Slowing it down, 'Rio' is next, like a short but sweet interlude of off-kilter slow-mo experimentation. Then it's back to the grooving house beats of 'Guacamole' with its jazzy backbone, before the melodious 'Q&A' kicks in, featuring a gorgeously wobbly overtone. 'Aquarelle' is a perfect ending, with distorted elements gradually coming together to find their harmonious compromise.

With 'Live Fast, Dwayne Young' Frits Wentink once again displays the hugely creative talents of this much sought after producer.

Rotterdam based 25 Places are back on Dirt Crew with a bang! since their "Love More" release in 2015 the boys have been hard at work and have just released an EP for Chez Damier on his "Prescription Records" sub label "Balance". The bounce begins with "Party In The Hills" hosting a huge kick, loopy Rhodes, squelching bass, Ragga flavoured vocal and squeaky lead, it's straight up good times right from the get go. An infectious groove on this one! "Closing Title Song" heads into deep soaring territory, it's forward house beat and pulsing synth lead intertwine with loose tropical percussion and a rhapsodic horn hook. On the flip we have Laurence Guy who does not really need an introduction anymore, the man has been all over the place since this years releases on "Cin Cin", "Outplay" and the imminent "Church" where he dropped two big EP's "Bamboo" and "Kojak". Here he takes on the soulful deep Chicago House of 25 Places and turns it into a 90's breakbeat acid galore of ecstasy tingled UK House. 25 Places wrap up the rave session with "Backyard Stories", a raw and bouncing, bass face inducing jam. Uplifting and dirty in one stroke, its thumping kick and feverous melodies make it impossible not to move.
