The first release from Nothin Personal, comes from Melbourne based artist 'Loure'.

House music has always been made from the heart and for the floor. Whilst Loure's music adheres to this hackneyed creed, it exists beyond simply the confines of one particular genre. His jazz-infused, house cuts have found homes on labels such as Delicieuse Musique, Apparel Music, and Slothboogie. An oscillating live performer, Loure can be found in the middle of a flurry of hardware for his solo live shows, behind the platters for his DJ sets, or conducting a full live band setup that is riddled with horns, guitars, keys and infectious improvisation.

For these reasons, it's our pleasure to share 'NP001: Loure - Outta 106'. Marking a slightly new direction for Loure, 'Outta 106' celebrates the diversity and talent of the Melbourne underground. Showcased through a collection of 6 finely crafted tracks stretching from contemporary jazz, to breakbeat, through to house cuts - Loure collaborates with some of Melbourne's best-kept secrets, to surface the stunning talent and beauty that is the Melbourne underground.

Highlights from the record are:
'Rotate' - a swinging 4/4 groove, accompanied by classy sax melodies, uplifting piano, and soulful vocals that together build into a thumping house cut, filling your heart and the floor.

'The Walk Home' - A complex DNB style beat, matched with luscious strings and a burning sax solo that drives listeners into the deeper side of the release.


'Heavyweight Sinner' - another UK Jazz style cut, a solid broken-beat groove with lulling melodies, complimented by warming guitar. The track peaks with an impressive bass solo.

What can be said about LNR's "Work it to the bone" Another slamming piece of Chicago House history brought to us by the dynamic duo of Larry Thompson and Rick Lenoir (LNR - Larry N' Rick) of the cult House Jam label. This is some straight 1987 HEAT, real House music for the heads, from the very beginning! "Work it to the bone" does exactly that, works every single part of your body into a frenzy, a cacophony of jacking sparse drum programming with that infamous descending bassline and that dude chanting, asking us to join him "C'mon let's work!" This record is a total classic. Period. Featured on this official 2016 reissue we have 4 mixes of this monolithic slab of machine funk that originally came out on various pressing between 1987 - 1989: The vocal mix, the instrumental, LNR clubhouse remix and the LNR underground mix. n a sense, this is "the complete" collection of this cornerstone of Chicago House. The full set. All audio has been lifted from Rick Lenoir's private collection of reel to reel tapes from his basement and remastered accordingly. This reissue has been realised with the full involvement of Thompson & Lenoir and is 100% legit! Don't snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting House heads record bag or DJ set, classic material made available again for 2016 - House is going on!

After their fatter than a 'Deepfried stick of butter wrapped in bacon' Speckbass EP collaboration on Sex Tags Ufo a few years back DJ Fett Burger & DJ Speckguertel team up once again! The full length 'Red Scorpions' album, showcasing their mastery in the studio, is the result. A cornucopia of all that's classy about house and techno rolled into one and spread over 4 sides. Not afraid to use the tried and true ingredients of House music to full effect on 'Red Scorpions' they incorporate all the best from US and Europe's club music into a fresh but familiar package.

Premisession’ pays homage to the pivotal but now defunct Minneapolis warehouse venue “Premises,” of which Craig Lambert aka Midnight Music Club founded, and where Kajunga hosted their rst ever all night party. The EP showcases MMC’s hardware uency with a lavish cruise through mesmerizing grooves and pronounced warmth.

Calling Card creates a welcome invitation to the record with sensual synth lines, paired with the drive of undulating tom rhythms. A New Day evokes the feeling of an acid soirée. Rich emotion and improvisational elegance resonate throughout the track.

Five A.M. starts the B-side off with spring-time air; blooming into a Sunday morning daydream. Private Guy seals the deal by providing a more moody take on A New Day, with melodies weaving through playful percussion.

Midnight Music Club has been collecting records for over 40 years, sharing them passionately for nearly 30 and studying music production for 20. This live artist’s timeless yet distinctly old school sound is reminiscent of early Chicago and Detroit pioneers, with a blend of deep house and techno that is uniquely his own.

He has released on Chicago’s Descendants of the Deep label, as well as Headphoniq and his own self titled outlet. His ‘Premisession’ EP is an ode to the pivotal but now defunct Minneapolis warehouse venue Premises, which he himself founded and which hosted Kajunga’s rst- ever all-night party.

KAJUNGA is a record label, party series and monthly mix series formed in 2015; the result of four Minneapolis artists’ shared love for thoughtful music and unadulterated dance floor experience.

Adeen Records 006 Introduces Bari born by way of Italy producer Nico Lahs. The South Italy producer delved deeper into his roots and returned using an array of vintage analog and digital hardwares, to give life in total freedom (as the name suggests) to his own sound and trademark.
The 2xLP album is the result of an unceasing and steadily research of one of the Italian music innovators, who doesn't just make house, but he's just as adept making hip-hop, downtempo, technoish and ethereal stuff deeply rooted into Chicago and Detroit history that starts with mellow atmospheres to then go up and down, skillfully juggling among samples, hardwares and artistry, showing his abilities with the sole purpose of calling out all the music heads, regardless of their taste, and unite 'em under one only message. Aaron J. Cunningham leads us off, pulling us into darkness with his hypnotizing "Blood In The Streets". Moralez then works the body with a groove monster called - Zardoz .

On the flip, Finland's fantastic acid aficionados Happo Pistoolit go crazy with their - Pikkujoulu Acid and Hughes Giboulay serves a wonderful and smooth blend of deep house,

named - Renaissance , to round things out.

Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Calder City Development Corp. was developed to build and reshape the landscape, structure and concepts of urban electronic music by using a philosophy of deep experimentation and raw vision.

The first release Stratospheric Architektur' comes from West Michigan native Translate', who's debut release Station Identification' was on the legendary label FEROX. This three track EP features two 10 minute bangers for the club, very much techno but with house sensibilities that should satisfy deep house to techno heads.

Face 1///Break beats begin this release but then is quickly changed into a four on the floor. The rumbling kick establishes the pulse as a hihat comes in to join the rhythm. The baseline come in slowly, syncopated as it likes, steadily as more percussion establishes the groove. Long chord pads come in to say hello as they steadily modulate underneath the feeling emanates soft and hard simultaneous. The tune gives of opposing feelings but always of goodness.


Face 2///A kick drum drops that introduces a vocal sample that slowly fades in from the ether. Flowing pads join slowly giving a sense of ubiquity. Percussion then arrives creating the full amount of the groove. In the middle of the tune, the full vocal sample comes in as the track is fully cooking now and continues to rock until its conclusion.


Face 3/// An ambient piece that features some pitched white noise and droning pads. Sometimes spooky and harsh but with a soft tone due to the pads that pulls a listener's emotion in different directions.

‘Débuts’ is France-via-Brussels duo, Nikitch & Kuna Maze’s aka Nicolas Morant & Edouard Gilbert first full length album. Building on their collaborative EP “Mush”, ‘Débuts’ continues to explore the melting point between jazz and club culture, interspersed with the signature sounds of broken beat, Chicago footwork, UK garage, Detroit house, and underpinned by their road-tested new live format.

‘Débuts’ see’s the band push their musical and creative development even further, a result of touring extensively around Europe with a live drummer, from high-brow jazz festivals to sweaty basement clubs. “We would be lying if we said our gig experience didn’t influence us on this record” Edouard explains. “We discovered new aspects to songs such as “Bruk” and managed to push forward the energy side of the music from the rawness of the live shows. This energy empowered to produce and compose new material in the same vein”.

On the sixth document of their vinyl-only V/A series ‘EXCURSIONS’, Josiah Hartley’s Phuture Shock label continues its quest to seek and showcase both new and established talent from the adventurous depths of the dance music underground and beyond. Assembling four tracks by a quartet of artists spanning the globe from Brazil to Germany, UK via France and the USA, this versatile collection of dancefloor-orientated cuts largely focuses on the many diverse shades of contemporary deep house.

Leading the charge is Brazilian DJ/producer Nørus, one of São Paulo’s most promising new house music exports on the verge of breaking through, who makes his debut outing on wax with the heavily supported ‘Make A Move’. This dancefloor weapon has been heating up the underground as a digital dubplate – particularly within the international ‘lo-fi’ house scene - for the best part of 18 months, and here finally finds a home for an official physical release. Another fresh face, or rather lesser known talent named Sloppy J is also welcomed into the fold. With one sole release (‘My Jams’ EP) under his belt to date, the low-key Berlin-based Canadian, who also moonlights under the alias Jonattan Levingstone, offers up his first new output since said EP, released on Montreal imprint Parages Music back in 2016.

Making a welcome return, albeit in a remixed presence is Nottingham producer Cyclonix, with a track that first appeared in its original form on ‘EXCURSIONS # 3’. But here gets given a new lease of life from Parisian DJ/producer and D.Ko records co-owner Flabaire, who alongside his label mates, has proved to be a leading light of the revived French house scene in the past few years. Completing the dynamic cast is Ugandan-born, Connecticut/Berlin-based veteran DJ and producer Jenifa Mayanja. Widely known in deep house circles for her efforts on the likes of Underground Quality, Deep ArtSounds, and the three labels she co-helms - Bumako recordings, Sound Warrior and EDJ Records - here she contributes something that taps into her more leftfield impulses.

Freshly mastered for max sonic appreciation, ‘Make A Move’ by Nørus sets off the proceedings on the A-Side; where scuttling hi-hats and UK-style pounding, juggernaut kicks are paired with gnarly bass tones, a sampled vocal loop that drifts in and out of the mix, and a dusty milieu of woozy pads that altogether manages to evoke the hazy nostalgia of early 90’s house and techno raves. Next up the reins are handed over to Sloppy J with the hypnotic, Chicago-influenced workout ‘Lange Nacht’, which is centred around a filtered piano groove that swings forth with jazzy flair over a cacophony of jittery cymbals, fierce offbeat claps and sporadic bursts of bleeps and blips from an unknown planet many light years away. For his remix of Cyclonix’s ‘On My Mind’ on the flipside opener, Flabaire cranks up the BPM with the addition of rolling four to the floor beats and a slinky bassline; leaving just small traces of the original’s vocal sample, whilst sprinkling a melange of techy synth hooks and warm emotive pads as the track evolves into something entirely new and deep into peak-time territory. Before Jenifa Mayanja completely flips the script with the esoteric deepness of EP finale ‘The Deed Is In The Doing’, an abstract house jam for the mind, body and soul of the Room 2 dwellers, where sweeping sci-fi chords and MK-esque MIDI sax licks envelope themselves around a steady 4/4 rhythm track replete with intricate percussion, and a groovy analogue bassline that writhes its way around the track with serpentine splendour.

This very limited addition of the vinyl version represents music that became known as the 'House Sound of Chicago'. The defining moment of modern music. The modern legends; Darrell Pandy, the most unique entertainer I ever met, began his career with 'Love Can't Turn Around', Loleatta Holloway made her comeback here from her earlier disco career, Frankie Knuckles first records were recorded with us, as well as his work being included with Jamie Principle . Marshall Jefferson, Joe Smooth, Cannon Irving, Chip E., Keith Nunnasly, Steve 'Silk' Hurley, Ricky Dillard, and many more This was the time house music was created, and across the street from DJ International was the warehouse where the legends played. This all happened on Rental Street now undergoing the City of Chicago's now and new DJ international Street. With over 400 recordings done at DJ International and Underground Studios, most of Chicago's legendary DJ's were there. For those who were able to be there knew that this was the basis on everybody's mythology of house music . The full story told coming soon.
