Pale Springs Records proudly presents its third release ‘Sunday Jams’. Niles Cooper steps up with a four-tracker packed with gospel vocals and oldschool house beats. With everything from Chicago House to Jersey House to Italo Disco it is a testament to the influences that shaped the Dane’s sound.

A1 is fast-paced disco infused floor-filler with soaring gospel vocals and airy strings.

A2 is a nod to the 80’s italo disco sound, with a driving bassline, lush synth lines and fluttering arpeggios.

B1 is a thumping Jersey House track with thick piano chords, tight drums and a groovy bassline.

B2 closes off the EP on an introspective vibe. Rhodes melodies intertwine with airy strings on this Chicago House track taking the listener on a ride through soft basslines, woodwind melodies and celestial pads.

The 50th instalment in the Phoenix G series is a special one. A 4 track counting coloured vinyl affair of course from the hand of the label's head honcho and sole artist ''Mr.G'' Proper machine funk drenched with synths and the significant samples make this 12'' a journey through Mr G's different sounds and mindstates.

Ellum Audio gets set to unleash the 'Ellum Sleazy Riders Collection' - a funk fuelled drive along a deep and dirty underground house highway featuring Balearic bikers Maceo Plex, Jacek Janicki, Sync Mode (Nitin) and Luke Solomon blazing a sonic trail across the dusty savannah of the musical badlands...

Delivering the funk on cue, label boss and man of the moment Maceo Plex kicks things off with 'Deez Nuts', getting super 'freaky' with a sensuous electro vibe and deep sleazy vocal. The warm flow of melodic keys combined with the deep grumbling chords make this dirty electric groove and one that you will blow your mind!

Lifting the tempo, Polish tech-head Jacek Janicki strikes a positive note with his 'New Tomorrow', a chuggy, driving electronic groove-fest full of aspiration and positivity as heard in Rob Meulman's vocals giving this smooth groove a real modern twist. Producing for over ten years it seems that the time has finally come for this talented producer to really shine.

On the flip Sync mode aka Canadian DJ and producer Nitin slows the pace down with 'Energy', a purple inspired funky deep driver with a real fruity twist. The powerful stabbing synths, deep rolling bass and catchy slowly break beat perfectly underpin the prince-like vocal of this saucy slow-jam. As well as running No. 19 Music alongside Art Department's Jonny White, home to the Maceo Plex hit 'Under The Sheets' Nitin has released on labels BBE, My Favourite Robot and also featured on the Crosstown Rebels 'Get Lost 4' compilation. Sync Mode is clearly a kindred spirit to the Ellum Audio imprint.

Hero of the underground music scene, Lukatron aka Luke Solomon provides a touch of class to round off this special v/a. 'VGA' embodies a raw house sound of the highest quality, with its subtle shakes, deep chords and layered synth structure perfectly bring this music journey to a close. Following a string of successful releases on labels such as Rekids and Crosstown Rebels alongside running his record label Classic Recordings with Derrick Carter, its no surprise that Ellum Audio are thrilled to have this legend on board.

One of the most prolific and best-loved producers in underground, electronic music, Fred P christens his new label, Perpetual Sound, with a return to one of his best-loved projects, Black Jazz Consortium.

Perpetual Sound represents an exciting new start following Fred P's decision to bring his former label, Soul People Music, to its natural end. Guided by his keen eye for emotion and experimentation, the label is set to unfold as a space to explorer a wider variety of styles and genres, with Fred able to invite guest collaborators into the fold for future releases.

This first release, knowingly titled 'Evolutions', is rich in the steppin', jazz-tech style that Black Jazz Consortium effortlessly injects with quite so much soul. Opening the EP, the Fred P reshape of 'Essential Paradise', featuring Slikk Tim, is a dynamic house-groover of the timeless variety that the NYC artist continuously makes seem so effortless. Immediately following on, 'Mystery Of Fantasy' generates a wide-eyed swell of orchestral strings, establishing a forward-thinking sense of wonder and opportunity.

From London, Mr. G adapts the same track with one of his hypnotic soundboy stomps, and an alluring vocal, slowly blossoming into a lo-slung groover with a legitimate hardcore and rave influence. After this wave of energy, the record concludes on a more mellow yet equally compelling note with the 'Continuation Interlude' edition of 'Black Key Experiment', a spectral denouement who soft keys and spoken-word samples concerning mankind, technology and the future, reflect the sixties-futurism evident on the record's evocative cover.

Fred's previous label, Soul People Music, has been the outlet for a distinctive style of house music for over a decade. A sound steeped in emotion, musicality, warmth and deepness, the imprint provided a home for Fred's numerous aliases, and artists he championed. Until now most of the catalogue has not been available digitally, but with additional high demand for represses of numerous titles, Fred has decided that fans both old and new be able to enjoy music from the Soul People Music catalogue however they wish. So, what awaits you on the second edition of a compilation that claims in a winking to present 'ambient race car music' Exactly what it says on the tin. A fresh and exclusive collection of music that hopefully sounds as great in a car as it will in the comfort zone of your own living-room or during dusk and dawn in your favorite club environment (see Bicep and Fort Romeau for further reference). But first and foremost it is truly inspired by many trips on the Autobahn between Frankfurt and Heidelberg. Going to and fro from one club to the other, was the way to spend countless hours of adolescence in excitement instead of tedious purposelessness. But I will not bother you with droll stories of my youth.

Musik for Autobahns 2 is the result of a collective effort by dear friends and esteemed colleagues who picked up where the first one ended, while paying attention to the prevailing theme. From Leon Vynehall and his profound research of the BAB 5 to Joy Orbison's 'A 213' or Lauer's heartfelt and wry Kraftwerk pastiche, all of the tracks have a certain compatibility in common or just sound great, while having a drive. 'Breaking' by AKSK for instance made the stop-and-go traffic in the blazing heat of Los Angeles so much more bearable (the vintage Volvo helped as well). Also, you will meet freshmen like Orson Wells, whose idea of traveling exceeds the boundaries of our planet, next to a grey eminence like Orlando Voorn (on the compact disc edition of this at least) or elusive characters like Disco Nihilist. All bringing their special skills and imagination to the table.

At just 22 years old, Kolja Gerstenberg is not exactly the stereotypical producer of current times. His affinity to Funk, Soul, Disco & Jazz Rock brought him to study drums at a decent German university, even though the real glory days of Disco preceded his birth.

His passion for electronic music is part of a Gerstenberg family tradition. Breast-fed Rhythm & Grooves galore, Kolja's dad was touring with legendary Trance live act 'Afrotrance' during the early 1990s; releasing on R&S, Harthouse, etc. And guess what he was the percussionist, performing in legendary clubs like 'Dorian Gray' or OMEN in Frankfurt.

Now Kolja's ready to take over and let the drums roll. The Smile for a While guys came across him via soundcloud and instantly liked his unique style of House Music, combining complex drumming with oldschool samples and crazy arrangements.

One of both the label & Kolija's biggest hero's loved the tracks as well - namely Move D. Between his everlasting, world-wide tour routine he managed to squeeze in a bass line monster of a remix - the first he's done in two years!

UK Garage may have originated in the United Kingdom but its influence continues to extend throughout the underground music scene as new generations discover the work of the genre's pioneers and their rule-book tearing approach to productions which established entirely new rhythms and grooves outside the standard 4x4 house music template. Obstacle Records is a new label that provides a home for established international artists adopting new aliases in order to release productions drawing on Speed Garage, 2-Step and Broken Beat's collective heritage.
Paying homage to the likes of Locked On, Nice & Ripe and Tuff Jam, while also offering fresh new interpretations of their classic sounds, Obstacle's limited-pressing releases will appeal to a broader audience than just UKG revivalists, at a time when the genre's influence can be found in the DJ sets and productions of microhouse heroes, Bristol up & comers and Berghain residents.
Obstacle Records 0101 - The Jam Therapy EP features a pair of 2-step rollers that take the rhythm into deep space, with richly textured soundscapes complimenting the intricate beat structures, while Funk Head's 'Lost In Tijuana' mix of the A-side 'Midnight Hour' adds hip hops beats and vocal snippets for a King Britt/Nervous Records-style understated groover.

For the latest 12" on his self-titled label, Malin Genie teams up with Swedish producer Per Hammar for a sturdy four-tracker that shows off the duo's knack for crafty, rolling house music. "Lijnbaan Dubb" has a full spread of rich synthetics propelling it forward through a subtly dubbed landscape of nocturnal atmospherics, while "Fosie" needles in on crooked sound design for a playful, minimal trip-out. "Scania" has a more rattling, techno-minded framework to carry liquid shimmers of chords, and then Samuel Andre Madson comes on board for a remix that injects a little old-skool Chicago romanticism into "Scania."

Club U Nite no. 018 is an outstanding EP, presenting you the many shades of house including 6 Black Chunes.

'Love Cat' is a stompin' disco track with a jazzy mood, while 'Freaks' blows the classic NYC house beats in your ears. 'Go Ahead' brings the funk essence in carefully selected sample chops while the b-side releases a jazz-house monster 'Jazzin' Up'. Caution: Stumbling hazard!

Fine Deep House sounds complete the new EP on Club U Nite Records with the tracks 'Jump-N-Scat' and 'Smack That Ass'.
