About We Play House Recordings

We Play House Recordings - WPH - is the work of Belgian DJ & producer Red D. Started 10 years ago to release the music of his friend san Soda, the label had (and has) the aim to release house music in all its shapes and forms. WPH's house ethics date back to the days where house was just a name for music that was played in clubs. There is no such thing as tech house, no such thing as deep house or minimal, there is simply (house) music, good or bad.

We Play House Recordings is lovingly led by Red D (real name Bart Van Neste), one of Belgium's leading underground music figures. Be it in his role as DJ, A&R, promoter, music panel host or general nitelife instigator, Red D does things with passion, humor and a healthy dose of keeping-both-feet-firmly-on-the-ground...with a twist...

WPH was started in 2007, so it takes no math genius to know that in 2017 the label is celebrating its 10 years anniversary. Running from the spring till winter 2017 this anniversary will be celebrated with special vinyl releases, a triple CD, a digital compilation, a Spotify playlist and a series of label nights all over Belgium and beyond. True to form the compilation will have WPH classics but also a BIG bunch of new material from core artists of the label like Locked Groove, San Soda, Kiani & His Legion, Fabrice Lig and many more.

Classic Dance Mania sound right here! Jammin' Gerald nailing that original 1994 Chi-town ghetto style, if you know then you know! Unapologetic, raw, jackin' booty trax for the clubs. It's all here. From the breakbeat driven, B-more club influencing "Get The Ho '94" to the insanely stripped back and crazy "sensuous black woman" riffing "Black Women (Club)" this EP has it. An essential addition to any collection if you like your club music direct and to the point, Dance Mania is a label that should need no introduction by now, but if you're new to the game this is a good place to dive in! 100% Legitimately remastered from DAT, including a new bonus track "Believe", and reissued with the permission and assistance of Dance Mania records and Mr. Parris Mitchell, Chicago USA.

Two absolutely legendary pieces of early Chicago house music finally reissued for 2018. Mike Macharello and Duane Thamm JR's Knight Action project was responsible for this colossal 1985 landmark release that saw a heady fusion of Euro influenced and Italo Disco sounds meet in the windy city and in turn create history.
Released on Macharello's 'Let's Dance' imprint the 'R-Trax / D-Rail' 12" has long been a holy grail of Chicago house, skeletal drum programming, acidic basslines and manic, strobing claps and toms combine to create a fresh and hedonistic version of the music that Macharello and Thamm JR were playing on the city's infamous WBMX radio station as well as in the clubs and roller rinks. A truly underground flavour, and certainly some of the earliest examples of the House sound that would eventually become synonymous with Chicago, 'R-Trax / D-Rail' both still sound compelling today and continue to wreak havoc on any dance-floor.

Chicago's Still Music are proud to present this fully legit, remastered and repressed piece of Chicago house history. A truly pivotal record now made available again for 2018. Essential sound for those who love the real deal - snoozing not advised, OG copies of this monster are hard to come by!

SCL003 is friends, love and house cuts to make people dance. New blend of 4 tracks! Side A with GZZ "Doggystyle", filter deep mélody and
dirty drums on the edge of Broken Beat. Massive Disco track "Nighty Part" by Two Many Cars (De La Groove Records), French duo producer and owners of
" Vinyl Dealer" vinyl shop based in Lille. Lotche starts the Side B with "Tony!", fat old school house cuts, vocal soul loop and a touch of sax.
And to finish, a real deep house track "Thousands Cats Island" produced by a young French talent named Basi (Def Raw Music Concept).

The next EP on CCDC comes from Owen Ni. The 19 year old from Alabama shows up with some deep
tunes that ride the line between house and techno in his EP entitled Studies'.

A1: Adolescence - Chunky percussion begins the experience quickly followed by morphing chord
stabs that give of a bright feeling of energy. The percussion changes as the stabs make up the
headlining space, later a vox chords come in to help fill out the tune. Meanwhile a pulsating bass line
is riding so subtly in the underneath the brightness.

A2: Running By The Beat - Deep chord flow while the kick drum slowly appears to establish the
groove. A voice is heard meanwhile the baseline is pulsating. Minimal percussion is heard, yet really
it on the slow build until the entire groove is established

B1: Running By The Beat (Whim-ee Remix) - Whim-EE decides to take it into straight beating
territory. The tempo picks up as the distorted kick drum wangs the woofers. Percussion comes in
slowly, and an acid line takes up the main attention of the track. The vocals are in audible, however it
fits the feel of the idea. Sparse elements continue to make surprise appearances, as the chords are re-
freaked.

B2: Studies - Swirling chords scrape through the air showcases Owen's emotions. In beat down mode,
the percussion comes in slowly to establish a groove. The percussion is low and really for those
heads that like to rock those slower hypnotic waveforms.

For its second release, the French record label is delivering 4 house traxx from its founders Real J & Jus Jam (aka Jam For Real), Kerstone and a guest : Evolve. As always, the vinyl comes with a strong themed artwork with a hand drawn palm tree on the label.

This is Jupiter label's first vinyl only release, with a collaboration EP of five Underground House Music artists from the North of UK. Each artist offering their unique take on Modern House Music - Deep, Tech and Soulful influences within the different tracks.

All the artist have a long history with Underground House Music, such as Ed with his links to Bassic Records in Leeds or Scott Featherstone with his highly sort after DAC releases and links with Chicago vocalist Kym Sims and world renowned record collector & DJ Desyn Masiello. The Late Nite 'DUB' Addict's DEEP.'N' DOPE Record Label bringing quality Underground House Music on charted digital releases, brings his savage sound to vinyl for the first time. Roots For Bloom hit release number eleven with another newcomer to the label. Mara Lakour deliver straight up house grooves from France to the UK based label. Clark St is the big hotter here with powerful stabs and synth lines and that ever present prominent low end that Roots For Bloom is becoming known for. The whole EP carries a 90's twang but brought very much up to date in great style.

After contributing a smashing remix to the first release on blank, UK producer Kalyde is coming back to the emerging German imprint with a fantastic EP of his own. Growing up in Detroit, he never got involved with electronic music until he went to university in Bristol, where he honed his production and DJ skills before resettling in London. Not long after that crucial step, an impressive string of releases followed on great labels like Skint, Madtech, Avotre and Roush. Kalyde has rapidly advanced to be one of the most exciting new talents in the UK's modern house & techno scene, and also has become a sure shot on DJ sets of big players from the likes of Annie Mac, Loco Dice, Eats Everything and many more.

Kalyde is famous for his fantastic ability to provide a huge energy boost without getting reckless, no matter if at one of his legendary extended DJ sets or in the studio cooking up the next big dancefloor banger. The Clone EP on Blank is the perfect representation of this sentiment. Every single track is a bona fide floor filler designated to land in the crates of the best house & techno DJs on the planet. The title track explores Kalyde's very own vision of acid house, combining a frenetic bassline with his infallible energetic signature.

Next up is the absolutely fascinating track Omulate', which features a highly hypnotic voice sample and recalls the dark uplifting feeling of immortal Detroit classics. With the last original cut on the EP White Shadow', the young producer delivers another acid techno stomper, this time taking a drift to darker musical spheres. Closing this massive EP, the UK techno veterans Mak & Pasteman step up for a unique remix treatment of Omulate', mutating this track into a huge techno bomb prepared to cause serious damage on big, dark dancefloors all around the world.

Frag Maddin's wizard like studio techniques don't need no black magic - just solid ingredients, being boiled in his studio cauldron. In the process, the old becomes the new again. This time, in its most musical form for Kakudo Records yet. His EP is a magical kaleidoscope of sounds and feelings that work their charms on our souls, brains and hips. Think Chicago, think NYC's kinky trax of the early 90ies, think silly amounts of bass and think flourishingly funked out synths making for an individual musical language with Maddin. Timeless sounds! Point 0 is now, these ones will last!

A1: Bullish
This one rounds off the nervous and flippant, overwhelming energy of Frag Maddin's beat and chord worx while bowing down to his funk, rap and house-routines. Bullish is an agile fighter. Beware - or you miss some of the punches coming in!

A2: Teehaus
This ceremony churns the goods from the very depths. Classic house in a raw, bassy, dirty warehouse manner. Seering vocals keeping the tension and demanding synths that slowly but surely unfold th energy - like boiling water opens the teabud!

B1: Point 0
A track that serves a basic backbone to the array of tunes here. Classic house, bowing down to Kakudo's Records beloved early nineties. Every sound a puncturing pressure point again. Machine grooves hammer home the message of this EP that has no fillers but offers raw fun(k) throughout!

B2: De Wizard
Quirky, flirtatious, somewhat trancy chords fly on high. While reminiscent Detroit sounds feed your brain and the bass tickles your guts. De Wizard's recipe is to conjure things in time. Take yours and observe, for building up tension is clearly one of Frag Maddin's best tricks!

Bleu Nuit (BN) is glad to welcome back Ghini-B — half of Nice-based duo Gabardines (BN02) — and his Over By The Corner EP on the occasion of the fourth release of the label.
With Over By The Corner, Ghini-B stays in line with Bleu Nuit's breakbeat and minimal musical identity.
On the A-side, whereas Streets Ain't Gonna Die For You (A1) drives you with its twitchy rhythmics and voice samples, Buchholzweg (A2) unveils straightforward beats and a rough kick drum.
On the B-side, MRLHT (B1) bears a similarity to the musical structure of both tracks of side A while introducing ethereal chords, whereas UK's Morning (B2) appears rather minimalist.

The fourth reference of Onward Recordings comes with 2 great artist, first Martin Prestige from Hungary who created two amazing tracks for the A side.

Keeping with tradition, the second ItaloJohnson release of 2012 once again presents itself in the likeliness of a 12inch Wax with three tracks.
The one-track mind repeats the same funk-nationalistic character of ItaloJohnson and once more shows its simplicity. This tune comes to its rite where it is loud and dirty but even headz sitting at home will be able to feel the sun rise. BOOM SHAKALAKA.
The double-track side has some surprises in store for its listeners. For those in the know, the first track is also known as BOOTYTRACK.' This track always pushes the low end to the limit and under the right circumstances guarantees some hip swing. Number two may sound familiar, but even if you don't know its rootz, you'll still be down with each other.

'Beste Modus' is a young, Berlin based label which is focused on house music.
The first release has a lot to offer. 6 different artists created 5 excellent tracks and formed a very diversified EP.
The 'Beste Modus 1 EP is a limited edition of 300 hand stamped copies. No digital release.

HPR003 is a new Various Artists of Hashplant Records.
This collection includes four tracks in different style. The modular sounds manage to engage the mind in a nice trip.
