A2-Sophisticated (w&p by Lootbeg) 'Sophisticated' is a perfectly arranged deep house track, with a deeply impressive grand piano chord line slowly flowing in and completing the harmonic structure perfectly.'They Wonder Why' kicks off the B Side in fine style, deep pads, tight percussion programming and a vocal hook conspire to provide a perfectly wholesome groove. Jan Ketel's slower version of wraps things up. Citizenn threads the final narrative to his critically-acclaimed debut album released earlier this year with 'Lady' featuring the beautiful vocals of Aisha and accomplished remixes from Kerri Chandler, wAFF and Francisco Allendes.

Pulling the track into new territories are remixers Kerri Chandler, one of house music's true icons and legends, wAFF (Hot Creations / Drumcode / Cocoon), who is a core part of new UK techno fraternity and esteemed Chilean techno producer Francisco Allendes (Desolat / Cadenza / Andes). A great set of remixes that compliment the original perfectly.

Here we present Good Vibrations, the debut EP on Local Talk from Canadian producer Orazio Fantini.
The best thing with this EP is that it's simply straight up house music that is both deep yet raw and funky all at the same time.
Basically, its very Local Talk ;)
First track 'To The Ball' starts off with a bubbling bass line, followed with shuffling hi-hats and swinging beat that's glued together by glistering synth stabs, infectious to say the least. Turn the record over for 'Feel it' which showcases Fantini's clever use of vocal samples blended together with the perfect swing and last not but not least, 'On Hold' is a stripped track but with all the necessary elements to make the feet move.

Jordan Fields and Parisian protege French Phil give us the very groovy, deep and abstract What a Life! 12" featuring a remix from the Uman Records crew also out of France. What a surprise to see this Underground Trax imprint returning celebrating 15 years no less. There surely is some history to be learned as discogs shows New Jersey's SOM being connected with releases from Stacy Kidd, Roy Davis Jr. and a couple From Jordan Fields as well. Very interesting indeed.

'Prescription: Word, Sound and Power' presents the groundbreaking Chicago based house label's anthology, holding milestone songs + four previously unreleased tracks.

Prescription Records defined the 1990s deep house sound. Chez Damier and Ron Trent started the label in 1993, released some two-dozen singles in a four-year span, many of which attained legendary status on the underground scene. 'Chez Damier and I started the label, because we had the idea to take a certain level of fidelity and bring that fidelity to what people call tracks. Tracks being drum orientated Chicago rhythm tracks with a minimalistic melody. We were playing with that idea, expounding a point of
that minimalistic aspect and making it more complex', Trent explains.

Ron Trent was born in Massachusetts but raised in Chicago, listening to jazz and learning percussion. He began DJing in 1982, playing at area high schools. His first EP, containing the epic instrumental'Altered States,' was released on Armando Gallop's Warehouse Records in 1990. Chez Damier (Anthony Pearson) grew up in Chicago, where he danced at the Warehouse as a youth. He left for Detroit in the 1980s, helping to open the Music Institute and working A&R for Kevin Saunderson's label, KMS. Damier and Trent met while Damier was visiting Chicago and immediately hit it off.

Today, Prescription is cited by countless producers as a major influence. 'It's a very dub experimental label... sound bites, samples, rhythms, and a lot of ethereal stuff, too,' Trent expounds—not to mention. Prescription's embrace of heavy sub-bass. Concludes Trent, 'It was ahead of its time, definitely.'

Lost Paradise delivers a modern execution our post-disco dance music culture, maintaining references to the past and looking for the oasis on the horizon. Lost Paradise's first release is a trans-continental collaboration between Sleazy McQueen and Stu Robinson. I Tried receives remix treatment from heavy hitters Pete Herbert and Yam Who and introduces Space Coast.
