BOO WILLIAMS' "MOON MAN'S RETURN" sees HEADPHONIQ issue its 10th release! This track comes from the same time period as BOO's "MARS" track. JORDAN FIELD's "1986 IN THE MIX" is classic jack. HEADPHONIQ represses STEPHANE VERA's "SITBACK" & MR. FEELING's "PINK SUNSHINE" close out the EP.

Kaffe Crème, 21 years old, is finally releasing his debut vinyl EP on his own imprint Moonrise Hill Material founded in February 2015.

This year, he took part of multiple projects in addition to the production of this EP such as a Jazz House live creation with piano, flute and percussions and the composition of an electro-symphonic artwork.

Due to his classic, contemporary and jazz percussions practice and his love for old school and electronic music, his EP retraces all of his influences and recounts the progress in his musical research this year.

The vinyl starts with Kapo Choc (efficient track against floor chips) as a preamble to Kaffe Crème's story in his apartment/studio/hideout from the "Poulaillerie", Lyon, reaching in his hip-hop and big-band influences.

The listening continues with Chez Moune, tribute to the skinflint Parisian nightclub that refused to pay Kaffe Crème's first gig in Paris. With multiple influences: traditional indian music, hip-hop and jazz; we can hear Calvin. O Butts saying « we're not against rap, we're not against rapper, but we are against those thugs », the track denounces the non-professionalism of his owners .

B-side starts with Jessica Penrose, young and shameless Penrose family's descendant (All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental), on a raw funk sample structurally built on a Penrosian equation.

The vinyl ends with Mountain Flow, ode to the Moonrise Hill Material movement, pure Jazz-influenced Hip-Hop, expressing the daily nonchalance and nihilism of the label's protagonists.

Renowned house and techno producer Mr. G joins the No Idea's Original roster with four typically powerful house cuts this January. Hot on the heels of his fifth album, not to mention a year releasing on Bass Culture, Relative, Warm Sounds, Midnight Shift and Defected - Colin McBean is a producer that needs little introduction. Leading the way, 'Can't Stop' sees Mr. G merge an infectious vocal with rumbling bass, raw drums and a murky oscillating synth before '4am NYC Download (TS Version)' introduces a subtle melody as a cacophony of hats join a distorted soulful vox. Crunchy percussion and a moody hook then form 'Make Me Mad' before concluding the package with a twisted reimagining titled 'Make Me Dub!'

Chicago-based legend Traxman, who is one of the most well-known ghetto house producers, is out and about to release 6 brand-new dancefloor trax on Dizzy Tunes.
He has been active since the mid-90s, boasting multiple releases on legendary Dance Mania Records.

Birdsmakingmachine are back on track and continuing their series in style with BMM 007. Kicking off things on A1, at 124 BPM, The Draft' is a joyful number that bursts with relentless energy while managing to fuse sharp metallic drum patterns with juggling ambient hooks. The more dancefloor-oriented track is nevertheless found on A2. As the title suggests, Area 52' is quite literally a journey through the unknown and mysterious, a metaphor for the deep minimal house Amazon, a track that stands out with an extra subby bassline, swinging hihats and those ever-so-warm sequenced analog pads in the background. Flip the record over and you find yourself with two slightly more industrial affairs, The Voice of Kudha' on B1 offering a breakier alternative than it's predecessors and Zagonity', on B2, galloping its way to close off the record with shuffling vocal hits and an amalgamation of bouncing hats and snares.

Tin Man, born and raised in California, did a wonderful acid remix and complement this EP.

A Dj. since 93. A producer since 98. A true student of the music/culture. Amir founded Vanguard Sound in February 2006. After making his presence felt in the Chicago club scene via a meteoric rise culminating a Dj watch feature in Chicago's 5 magazine, he completely disappeared and went beneath the underground to focus solely on advancing his production skills.

Soon after linking up with G. Marcell and Hakim Murphy he began to release gritty tracks that have been charted and played by underground Dj's world wide. His fourth release was the sleeper classic 'Experience ep' a 4 tracker with Amir on side a, and G. Marcell on side b.

Encouraged by the feedback, Amir then submitted tracks to New York city's Plan B Recordings. The rest is history as they say.......

Recording under the name Amir Alexander and the pseudonym Guerrilla Soul! this cat strives to bring a raw and gritty modern spin on classic Detroit, Chicago, and New York underground sounds.

"Dazed And Amazed" leaves me pretty Dazed & Amazed... HAR HAR HAR. Love the shuffling
garage percussion, wobbly basslines, vocal samples.. what a dreamy tune. "Everybody's
Beautiful" is the same deal, though a bit more straightforward -- but the bassline, subtly bumping
underneath the drifting beats, and those synths.. I'm melting! Acid Mix is good too, adds a little
bit of oomph but doesn't stomp all over what made the original mix so pleasant. Stellar EP.

The legendary Lidell Townsell on the legendary TRAX label - What's not to like
'Get the hole' might sound like a fairly dubious title for an EP, but it works within the realms of Chicago house!
Released in the golden year of '88, this EP contains nothing but vintage midwest ACID grooves! You could argue that the XXX rated message behind lead cut 'get the hole' is an early precursor of what would come out of the Chi via Dance Mania and other associated labels and artists in latter years. Rumour has it the track had an impact on the super underground B-more club scene too unsurprisingly!

Remastered in conjunction with Trax Records, fully legit, now is the time to revisit a cornerstone of classic Chicago House music, often imitated, never bettered!

Chineurs de House series are made in the continuity of the eponymous Facebook group. The goal is to discover and travel through all the sounds of House Music and its derivatives.
« Cimetière du HiFi » or « HiFi Cemetery » is focused on the LoFi movement, mostly embodied by fresh and young upcoming producers like Raär, Slim Steve and YancityGurl whom we've chosen to trust on this release.

"I don't have any plans, I just make music for fun" said the latest addition to the Hypercolour roster, Christopher Rau, in a recent interview. The Hamburg house don's not wrong, either, with his deep and non-linear sounds leading the way on labels like Smallville and Pampa. Here teaming up with friend Tilman Tausendfreund, the pair turns in one effort each, plus two collaborative tracks on their Pea Gravel EP.

A heavy, heavy remix package here from Hypercolour. Step forward Bonobo, Kowton and Dark Sky, who all contribute stellar remixes of Maya Jane Coles' 'Don't Put Me In Your Box' EP, originally out in 2011. Bristol's Joe Cowton AKA Kowton plucks for 'Parallel Worlds' from Maya's EP to get the once over, opting for a dancefloor-centric re-work. Stripping things right back with big, distorted drums and strobe like percs, the Idle Hands and Livity Sound man affords us with a real sweat soaked warehouse banger of a remix. Dark Sky have been firing on all cylinders of late, releases on Tectonic and 50 Weapons, collaborations with Breach... and their remix of 'Something In The Air is underpinned with a rattling 4/4 groove and big subby sweeps, retaining the original's melodic touches. Bonobo seals a huge period of activity, including a rack of acclaimed albums for Ninja Tune, with an ethereal and sublime take on 'Something In The Air'. The remix cinematically sweeps over you, its rising melodies and tight percussions making this a standout job from Bonobo and a fine closing to a big remix package!
