Woo York takes us on a trip to the Kazakh city of Baikonur. A landscapish and interesting journey which is well orchestrated and never dull. The opening track Sawcure is an intense voyage through sound, excisting out of syncopated synths and a smoothly progressing bassline. The sophomore bit is a little more ominous, deep and terse. The remainders of this cinematic plot are just as diverse and well brought. The sublime edits throughout the record make it even more interesting. Top Notch stuff from Woo York

Hot Creations continue to bring the heat as they deliver the next release from German wizard Basti Grub. The emotive Darling also features a remix from FUSE favourite Rich NxT.

Darling is powerful with a raw groove and a dark yet almost ethereal synth section and a vocal hook that will play repeatedly in your head. Rich NxT adds his unmistakable sound to the track, distorting the vocal and adding a full-power, after-hours bounce to the bass complete with a woozy, synth-led break-down.

With over a decade in the business, Basti Grub has forged a solid reputation for himself with his output. Unafraid of experimentation, he expertly fuses together traditional instruments with modular synths. His releases have been signed to Mobilee, This And That and Bouq. Records, and in 2018 he collaborated with Timo Maas and Eric Volta on the masterful We Were Riding High. Grub shows no sign of slowing down in 2019 as he puts the finishing touches to his fourth studio album. One of the key figures and original residents of London party FUSE, Rich NxT's releases have been supported by the likes of tINI, Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers. He also heads up his own imprint, NxT Records.

Wisdom Teeth co-founder K-LONE is back on home turf with a four track EP of broken beats for big rigs. The last 18 months have seen him release an impressive run of records on a spread of acclaimed labels spanning a range of styles: slow-mo dub techno (‘Old Fashioned’ on Parris’s Soundman Chronicles imprint); anthemic halfstep (‘Barbarossa’ on his own offshoot label, Wych); low-lit UK garage (‘Furious Styles’ on Dr Banana); and dubwise broken-beat house (‘Dance of the Vampires’ on Idle Hands). The scope and variety of his output has been mirrored in the diverse array of record bags that these releases have snuck their way into: recent co-signs have spanned artists as eclectic as Ben UFO, Four Tet, Bake, Kiran Sande, Beatrice Dillon, Leif, Trevor Jackson, Batu, Commodo and Iggy Pop. The Sine Language EP sees him handling a range of styles and tempos, moving from paranoiac electro (‘Sine Language’) and low-slung percussive house (‘Batucada’) through to tripping, bleeping techno (‘Missed Calls’) and, finally, early hours dubbed-out house (‘Bells’).

Max Cooper is releasing an EP of remixes by friends and other artists he admires, on a DJ friendly 12" vinyl with 6 remixes.

It takes the LP from an incredible home listening experience and onto the dance floor. On the 12" will be the remixes from Vessels, Rival Consoles, Tom Hodge, Kimyan Law, Christian Loffler and Ash Koosha.

In November last year Max Cooper released EMERGENCE , an epic, operatic, amalgamation between audio-visual show, scientific research project, art installation and IDM record. EMERGENCE is the story of the development of the universe, the way in which, very complex things like human beings were created from the immaterial by the action of simple laws.

Irish mastermind David Kitt aka New Jackson returns to Permanent Vacation with his forth record for the label. This time out he takes his beloved MPC and XOX machines back to Japan, their birthplace, for five imagined train journeys. The results are some of the most stunning and multilayered music he has produced to date with that constant locomotion pushing us on down the tracks and providing the perfect soundtrack to the sights and romance of the land of the rising sun.

Related Artists Todd Terje, Tiger & Woods Key Selling Points Berlin's True Romance is back with its eighteenth release, with label boss TENSNAKE at the helm bringing us one of his most compelling pieces of music to date. Until now 'Hello' has existed only as a sought-after ID and staple in Tensnake's summer festival and club sets. Finally here for the world to enjoy, 'Hello' brings an undeniable energy to the dance floor, ripe with 80's-inspired synths and an immense kick drum that comes in at the song's halfway point. Skinnerbox, meanwhile, up the tempo with a jacking acidic 3am foray where Dino's stark spoken word is textured to trippy effect over a prickly, sinewy groove. Two versions that develop the original's story in two stark ways, this is what remixes were invented for.

Last but not least, Dino seals the deal with 'The Right Place'. A broken drum mutant powered by technoid rocket fuel, its breakbeats drive a writhing groove that's awash with touches of classic electro, new beat and hardcore with dark broadsword bass sweeps. Splashed with sudden blasts of synth colour, Dino's signature sense of contrast is visceral, focused and direct. A true homage to every genre's foundations and salute to the future, tremors can be felt from techno to drum & bass.

Dutch maestro Reimer Eising returns with a new lesson in high class braindance electronica for Analogical Force. Just one year on from the inspiring 'Wingtip' album on Clone Records and many (like us) have been looking forward to his new stuff, now the wait is over. 'Alacasa', the result of months of work, sees Reimer delving into his unique world of delicate drum patterns, kaleidoscopic synths, 4/4 beats and breaks, acid-tinged melodies, ghostly pads...blah blah blah... Kettel presents this with such immaculate care and attention to detail, production and pacing. Analogue Attic continues to draw from the fresh stream of talent running out of Australia, this time with Jack Burton, a composition student from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts.
His debut LP 'Lake Monger' was composed across two cities over a period of a year, and features contemplative synths, techno and experimental influences.

The record climaxes in the three-part, 12 minute title track that swells in energy and intensity, drawing influence from ambient masterpieces of the 90's with modern day production, demonstrating impressive compositional maturity.

Since its first outing in 2004, Matthew Dear's AUDION guise has predominantly acted as a darker, edgier commentary to the pop-infused house concoctions to be found under the producer's birth name. A twisted reflection of sorts, it contemplated electronic music through the lens of grime-flecked techno and sinewy funk - resulting in relentless floor-fillers like the aptly named 'Kisses', 'Just Fucking' or 'Mouth To Mouth'. Compared to the itchy momentum and carnal damp of these freak classics, the sophisticated elegance of new offering DEM HOWL is rather unexpected: chaperoned by the emotionally charged timbre of TROELS ABRAHAMSEN's vocals - first introduced to Kompakt's vocabulary via Kölsch's 'All That Matters' -, this cut steers away from the battle-scarred body music of yore and towards the more introspective moments on the dance floor - without sacrificing one iota of the precisely engineered groove machinery that is Audion.

With this second release Caim continues to push their layered and soothing groovy dance-floor palette to the next level. Constantly playing with the elements that are slipping in and out of focus, haunting yet hopeful, their sound galvanizes heads in the club. This is for that late-night dreamy state of mind while dancing into the early morning hours.

We are proud to showcase more Bay Area family with the release of a new EP by Doc Sleep who cut her chops as a DJ in San Francisco’s vibrant scene the past decade. In 2016 she made the move to Berlin and became a resident of Room 4 Resistance. Since 2013, she's been the co-owner of Jacktone Records, which specializes in techno, ambient, and experimental electronics. In 2016/2017 she released her first 12's on the Hot Mass-affiliated Detour Records and Bottom Forty. She also co-wrote a track with Bezier and Nicole Ginelli, titled “Stranger,” that we released on the ‘Primes’ EP in 2017. Her latest release, ‘Your Ruling Planet’, was released on Jacktone in March 2019.

We first heard “Creme Fraiche” on Doc’s soundcloud page and begged to release it. The track has the feel-good vibes you get on early morning dancefloors as things are winding down or up. Paired on the A-side is the pulsating dark jam “Never Eating Again” that previously appeared on ‘Run The Length Of Your Wildness V.2’ and, like that compilation, proceeds from this track will be donated to Ghost Ship Fire victim Cherushii's family. On the B-side are two remixes from close friends of Doc. First up is a fresh breakbeat remix from Violet: DJ, producer, boss of Naive records, co-founder of Rádio Quântica, and mina resident shaking up Lisbon's nightlife. Second is Berlin-based producer and fellow R4R resident, rRoxymore, who presents an innovative remix of future-facing techno and bass variations adding her own vocals on top. For this release we’ve teamed up with Jacktone to release a cassette version, our first in this format, featuring two peak-time bonus tracks. All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy is housed in jacket designed by Eloise Leigh with neon pink and lavender gradients echo morning sunrises with a collage of dreamy elements using a photo by Doc of Club Toilet in Detroit.

Reaching the milestone of its 100th single/EP release, Circus Company welcomes back Aquarius Heaven with a new EP of poignant, uplifting house music loaded with a meaningful message for these transient times. It's nearly three years since Brian Brewster delivered the Parallela Mundi 12', and in that time he has been on a relentless mission to spread his unique blend of house music, Caribbean roots and psychedelic magic across the globe in a whirlwind of live performances and collaborations. In a manifestation of his well-travelled soul, these new pieces call upon traditional influences in amongst the modern motifs that Aquarius Heaven has been built on, while lyrically dealing with the pressing issue of refugees escaping conflict, poverty and famine. The proud drum throwdown and carnival bleeps of 'Bato Chargé' conceal the seriousness of its theme. In Brewster's native tongue Creole, bato chargé translates as overloaded boat. With the Caribbean as equally rooted in the history of displaced humanity at the hands of sinister powers, the groove of 'Bato Chargé' takes on a defiant, hopeful tone directly inspired by the traditional percussive music style Gow Ka. '50 Drops' by way of contrast takes on a noirish tone with its gritty, street-weary tale and nocturnal melodics played out through enchanting arpeggios and warbling leads. Cooling off the tempo and heading into a digi-dub skank that plays off Brewster's roots in reggae and dancehall, 'Marie Galante' takes those same warm synths and runs them through a low-but-heavy stepping landscape; the perfect backdrop to the vocalist's dexterous ramblings on the mic. It's not often you hear Creole New Release Information delivered in contemporary electronic music, with a rare exception being the legendary work of Tikiman et al with Rhythm & Sound in the 90s.

One of the most prolific and best-loved producers in underground, electronic music, Fred P christens his new label, Perpetual Sound, with a return to one of his best-loved projects, Black Jazz Consortium.

Perpetual Sound represents an exciting new start following Fred P's decision to bring his former label, Soul People Music, to its natural end. Guided by his keen eye for emotion and experimentation, the label is set to unfold as a space to explorer a wider variety of styles and genres, with Fred able to invite guest collaborators into the fold for future releases.

This first release, knowingly titled 'Evolutions', is rich in the steppin', jazz-tech style that Black Jazz Consortium effortlessly injects with quite so much soul. Opening the EP, the Fred P reshape of 'Essential Paradise', featuring Slikk Tim, is a dynamic house-groover of the timeless variety that the NYC artist continuously makes seem so effortless. Immediately following on, 'Mystery Of Fantasy' generates a wide-eyed swell of orchestral strings, establishing a forward-thinking sense of wonder and opportunity.

From London, Mr. G adapts the same track with one of his hypnotic soundboy stomps, and an alluring vocal, slowly blossoming into a lo-slung groover with a legitimate hardcore and rave influence. After this wave of energy, the record concludes on a more mellow yet equally compelling note with the 'Continuation Interlude' edition of 'Black Key Experiment', a spectral denouement who soft keys and spoken-word samples concerning mankind, technology and the future, reflect the sixties-futurism evident on the record's evocative cover.

Fred's previous label, Soul People Music, has been the outlet for a distinctive style of house music for over a decade. A sound steeped in emotion, musicality, warmth and deepness, the imprint provided a home for Fred's numerous aliases, and artists he championed. Until now most of the catalogue has not been available digitally, but with additional high demand for represses of numerous titles, Fred has decided that fans both old and new be able to enjoy music from the Soul People Music catalogue however they wish. His latest release I KNOW from Elypsia Records is a quintet of Detroit inspired remixes of the song 'I Know'. Inspired by Kevin Saunderson, his original TECHNO MIX (7:06) is a hardcore and high energy track with intensity to match the wildest of crowds. The EP also contains 3 remixes of the track, each exposing and accentuating the brilliant aspects of his complex tune. It begins with the LUCIEN FOORT REMIX (6:41), a lively big room hit with a punch fit for an epic Saturday night. UK MIX (6:46) follows with subtle electric melo-dies and rhythmic drum and bass patterns that give listeners the feel of wonder and excitement under a clear starry sky. With a clean and gravitating groove BIT FLOAT REMIX (7:42) would fit perfectly in any Ibiza party with flair and style. This release is a masterpiece of its own and nothing less than the product of a man who was born with beats and melodies ingrained in his soul. For Orlando Voorn, making music is more than a way of life, it's a necessity. From the early age of 9 his natural intuitions became apparent when his drum teacher told his parents he could play everything that was shown to him, even though he had no ability to read a score. He began to DJ at the age of 12, and 3 years later won the World Mixing Championships of 1983 at just 15 years old. Steve Clisby, from the popular American band 'American Gypsies', recognized Voorn's ability and taught him chord structures, which gave him the tools to begin composing tracks using keys and bass. His artistry then took off, making a name for him-self with his vibrant dance tracks under the alias 'Frequency". Today, he's known as one of the Netherland's most inventive and ingenious producers in the world of electronic dance music. Peverelist does Peverelist on his 3rd album of Bristolian bass techno prisms, Tessellations, his first for the Livity Sound label, forming a typically stripped, acute treatise on the flux of dub, techno, D&B and ambient electronics that make up his soundsystem DNA.

Rooted in the '90s but curved and toned for 2017, Pev's sound is economically functional but not without a crucial sliver of emotive, sensual/textural pressure that bleeds thru in each cut. It's hardly hands-in-the-air material, yet his slow-burning vibes are arguably more satisfying and subtly impressive in the immediacy of the dance and for the long run.

Across a neatly plotted 48 minutes he systematically investigates and consolidates all stripes of the Peverelist sound in a way that builds on the experiments of 12000 Seconds (2014) whilst reprising and refining the heft of Jarvik Mindstate (2009).

The roiling modular tones of opener Burning Seas offers a rare, beat-less iteration of his sound before the session properly gets under way, vacillating the pressure between Under Clearing Skies dense electro-bass pulses and strobing dub chords, and the wide open lushness of Still Early, then twisting into the latinate shimmy of Sheer Chance Matters and the spiralling trills of Wireframes, which sounds almost like Plastikman meets Unique 3.

Further Inland brings a lot of originality and feeling with a misty-eyed mesh of airy Detroit/Berlin arpeggios and serpentine house swang, cooling down into the tribalism patterns of Brinks and Limits and closing on another rare, beat-less vision, Plateau from which to survey his rolling topography and then dive back in again.

Now, the second release from Dietz' imprint comes from the label boss himself and Swiss born producer Alci. Each track from the release features distorted drum rhythms that are complimented by chilling synth arrangements truly showing the experimental sound of Truth Be Told. An incredible offering from both artists, Dietz' acclaimed production style paired with Alci's technique of balancing analogue gear with new technology, create a delectably composed release from one of underground music's most enthralling new imprints. Some quality techno on this new label from Paris including a beauty of a rmx by Conforce!. For this first vinyl only EP, Shlomo, one of the label's owner arrives with two original tracks with a deep atmosphere crossing classic techno drums. The other side presents two remix, on from the Edinburgh's techno master Stephen Brown with a fine old school reshaping. Next comes The Conforce's remodel which will talk to all ambient and minimalistic techno, 100% as we love his sound. Beautiful contracts between the liquid beauty and massive force of techno. Midland's Graded sub-label returns with a four-track various artists EP spanning techno, minimal and deep house. Otik's contribution, on the other hand, skews towards UK bass.

2019 is shaping up to be a great year yet with more of the same focus on championing new and emerging artists; alongside the more established. But before all that..

Belfast is the first port of call as DJ and producer Jordan delivers a variety of party thumpers. With thanks to AVA festival and the invincible Bicep going from strength to strength; the Belfast scene is enjoying a moment with the likes of Bobby Analog, Cromby and Hammer all breaking through to greater recognition. Jordan has equally been keeping busy between releases on Abandon Silence and launching his own edits label through Lobster Theremin..

So the stars are aligning for this release, which typifies what the label is about. Each track could easily be the 'A1' and it's already been doing the damage with the likes of Tim Sweeney, Erol Alkan and a select few, until now.. Expect to hear much more from each over the year ahead.

FJAAK are new to 50WEAPONS and they already have had a killer start. It is said that they actually sleep/live in their studio and one can easily imagin them listening to bassdrum samples for breakfast. Their rough techno tracks are driven by a fast and furious energy, that is pulsing with love for its genre.

The A side is ruled by the outstandingly well carved noises of the Kick drum's reverb, brilliantly timed breaks and a windy flute pad that pairs perfectly with the distorted snare drum. A knack for expertly distorted drum sounds is one of FJAAK's most distinctive features.

The B side explores the quest for finest distorted kick drum. - The Wind' pairs it with delayed synths and a noise-come-percussion heading into deeper territories while - Curious' on B2 sets a darker vibe with growling bass drones that sting like metallic insects and infect you with dancemania.

Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Records invites Mennie for his first solo release of 2019, featuring two spacey cuts in the form of ‘Proxima’.

Joining Moscow Records following releases on Poker Flat, Infuse and Rawax, Mennie is a regular DJ at Florence’s Tenax Club when not performing across Europe including appearances in the UK, France, Germany and Spain. Alongside Julien Sandre, the Italian producer is also one half of Jarau and together they’ve released on labels like One Records, Visionquest and Pleasure Zone.

Kicking things off, ‘Proxima’ injects acid squelches into an atmospheric background which builds to include a wonky bassline laced with echoing distorted vocals. Flip over and ‘Do That’ utilizes a similar otherworldly aesthetic, with metallic effects, electronic bleeps and rattling drum patterns, all guided by a funk infused bass.

Project Runaway brings together two of Tel Aviv's new breed of talented DJ / producers in a meeting of tripped out, expansive, psychedelic, club music. Landing on Especial to expand horizons is Met, their debut EP of deep, percussive dubs for late night tribes. A name on many leftfield lips, Alek Lee's journey continues following two acclaimed solo releases for the wonderful Antinote crew and new project, Shame On Us (alongside Naduve and Yovav Arzi) for that brightest star, Hivern Discs. Teaming up with the sound production skills of Stephan Bazbaz they create Project Runaway. Holding down his own citywide residencies, Bazbaz has developed a studio mastery of minimal dub, crispy house and trippy techno via a growing stream releases on numerous labels, as well as setting up his own No Wave records in 2016. After their welcoming, simple, yet wall quacking remix of Persian (EES031), Met, or 'dead' in Hebrew, bring their strands together as one sound. In original form, a vibrating drum takes on bass backbone is broadened with tight layers of percussion overtones and warped vocal interplay. For the fifth EP on VL Recordings, Hector presents Romanian DJ/ Producer, Mahony.

Mahony is best known for being at the helm of the Romanian techno scene as the chief booker for Sunwaves Festival, and Kristal Club where he had his first brush with the electronic music scene as a young and aspiring DJ producer.

It all started for Mahony as a resident of Kudos Beach Club in Mamaia the home of Romania's most beloved underground festival, Sunwaves. With a season full of great gigs behind him, word spread over to Kristal Club and they soon snapped him up as a resident and he finally got to share the decks with the great artists he admired in the club when he cut his teeth on the party scene

Fast-forward to 2016 and Mahony is not only is he continuing to put Kristal Club and Sunwaves on the map, he is touring worldwide with Hector and his Vatos Locos crew playing for events at BPM, Sonar, and Club Der Visionaere Berlin, as well as gigs in New York, Montreal, Argentina, Dubai and Paris.

For his contribution to VL Recordings, Mahony serves up three tracks that pay homage to his Romanian roots. On the remix duties he has called on two masters of their craft, Livio & Roby and Guti who both make their VL Recordings debut.
