We started 'The Classic Series' featuring tracks that we love, bought, played out and which we have the feeling more people should know about them. For this second, It is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from the Detroit House scene Terrence Parker and the Chicago veteran Ellery Cowles. This project includes two secrets cuts and timeless moments of Detroit house & Chicago techno.
On A side : 'Welcome To Southfield', a massive and very demand house instrumental track from Terrence Parker. Released in 1997 on Studio K7! Records and issue from his 'Detroit After Dark' Lp.
On B Side : 'Madball', previously released in 1998 on DaFunk! records, our favorite secret weapons, a real masterpiece of Chicago Jackin' Techno by Ellery Cowles (Black Nation, Djax Up Beats, Synewave).

The 6th offering by Public Possession comes from our old friend Anton Klint. We have been playing records together for many years and he is for sure one of the best Rock/Disco DJs we know. He has put out a few records together with his partner Edvin Edvinson as Tiedye in the past, but this is his first ever solo production to be released. We are very happy that we could work with him on this one and are now able to present to you 'The Spritzer EP". Whilst Part 01 is more pumping and dance floor orientated, on Part02 Anton develops an epic guitar driven flood of joy. Play this at the riviera beaches and on the Cote d'Azur... you can be be sure to have bottles pop open and blouses unbutton immediately.

After a brief hiatus Church are back with a debut offering of Original Material from Apes. The A Side 'Two Thousand Six' is a straight up techno work out, having been tried and tested this track is aimed directly at the dance floor. Chaos in the CBD are on board for the remix taking us on a journey of warm, deep, subtle analogue House fresh off the back of their stand out track '78 to Stanley Bay'.
The B Side 'Cold Love' goes some way to show Apes' versatility as a producer, It's a nostalgic piece of work, with a pulsating bass-line driving through the track along with intricate percussion and a choice vocal sample to round things off. Cold Love is equally suited for the club or for home listening. Apes' right hand man Seb Wildblood takes the track in a slightly different direction, using elements of the percussion and transforming the vocal sample for a delightful melodic contribution to the EP. Early Support from Paul Woolford, Breach, Ben Pearce, Dusky, Alexander Nut & more.

Gerome Sportelli presents "Sporty Limited", a new record label managed by himself as a limited vinyl series. After big success with his KRAX Records in 2004, veteran Gerome Sportelli is back with a new label project. The genre of the label swings between dance floor oriented house and techno, with a touch of acid and of course some dusty old school flavours. Gerome's already active in the music industry since the early 90's as a producer, DJ, label manager, party promoter and graphic designer. His music 'smells' old school, just like the early age of acid house, but infused with today's intelligent constructions and an engaged vision on music. Gerome's music is made from bronze age analogue synths, love, passion and modern digital mixing techniques.
For this first Sporty Limited release, Gerome comes out with three stylish tracks. The first track, A side 'Drive', is a fat house stomper with strong stabs and female voice hits. The break is intense and works effectively on packed dance floors. B1 is called 'Free Range' and feels like summer. It's full of classic house sounds, filtered strings and hypnotic loops. This is a Chicagostyled, disco sampled, deep and classy house track we love and cherish. The B2 track, 'Don't Go', is composed with a classic house bass, shuffled 909 drums and dark space strings. You'll immediately recognize the deep and melodic Detroit house sound.

Don't be mislead from the name, the enigmatic M. Zalla, is one of the numerous alter ego of the italian maestro Piero Umiliani. Umiliani, during his period of fascination for psychedelic and electronic atmospheres, starts to compose a good number of musical portraits dedicated, as the title reveals, to the problems of his time. We are at the beginning of '70 and italians are worried by mafia, terrorism and social conflicts: so it has sense that the music choosen to represent this anxious problems has a sperimental nature, dark and disturbing a sort of unicum in the long and extremly productive Umiliani career. And if, in 2015, titles as Mondo in Crisi', Problemi Sociali', Azione Sindacale' and Mafia Oggi' sounds still sadly actual, it's even more surprising find that the music of Problemi d'Oggi' (Today Problems) is projected on the future, sounding still alien and uniques.
The record presents various styles: from Pink Floyd atmospheres (or Braen's Machine if you prefer...) to compositions characterized by a great use of drum machines and synthetizer (MOOG and Sinthy). We just have to listen the begginning of the opening track Produzione' to give sense to the words of Sean Canty (Demdike Stare) that defines the music the first techno/trance track of the history, but between the grooves of this vinyl it's easy to find intuitions that many other artist and musicians - from Residents to Aphex Twin and Four Tet - will be able to catch during their carrers.
Ahead of the deliriously deep and rhythmically complex debut album 'Face To Face' (out in November on Serialism), Phillippe Quenum aka Quenum first displays his rich, dynamic and sometimes soulfully melancholic sound across a teaser EP featuring two album tracks plus a tough yet shimmering remix from the ever classy and timeless, Cassy. Lead track 'Face To Face' pulses with raw, rumbling bass as hard claps accent an unfettered groove scattered with delicate sonic nuances and a powerful vocal sample. From peak time to sunrise, '5 AM' is an ethereal electronic voyage, with softly woven beats, rippling synths and melodic keys.

Thyladomid is a young German producer who joined the Diynamic ranks back in 2011 and now he is back with another big hitting track, The Real Thing, featuring Mâhfoud plus remixes from label mates Stimming and Adriatique. A trained pianist and excellent producer with his own unique house sound, Thyladomid has also released on the likes of OFF and VIVa and here proves he is one of the best new talents in the game. The track in original form is a truly sombre bit of deep house. Its main feature is a melancholic piano line that lazily rolls over warm, rubbery kicks as Mâhfoud's pained and sad vocals add another layer of emotion. It's real listening track, one that has you turning inwards and remembering lost loves, whereas the remixes are much more dancefloor aligned. Stimming reworks the track into a much more sharp and urgent affair with his usual intricate details making it hugely energetic. From the squelchy synths to the rubbery bass, it's a textured affair that makes you wanna move. Finally, Adriatique, the Swiss pair currently on a roll, offer up a lazy, spaced-out and fairly slow house remix that is all about making dancers sink into their inviting groove. This is a truly tender release from Diynamic and Thyladomid that proves the label can do introspective house emotion as well as they can sweatier dancefloor anthems.

That Place's concept is to give a musical tribute to a place that marked the life of the artist. The label leaves space to the subjectivity of the artist in both musical style as visual on the cover because it's him who chosen the illustration. That Place is intended to be broad in terms of musical style, it can be house, techno, disco edit, ambient, acid, etc.. As long as the music reflects the soul of the artist.
That Place is a label run by Juliano. He honors for this first release a Lyon's artist: Visitors for Reworks. The latter has happened here 4 House, Electro and Techno tracks.
"Space 1" is the opening track fot this Ep. VFR puts forward a basseline ever bounce and go in acid tones while the instrumental part takes us in a constant dynamic. The second piece is entitled "Space 3 (Flight of Stairs Version)" and is a journey towards experimentation with electro acid sounds. On the flip side of the disc there is the track "Space 2" who is Breaky and goes on the lovely flavour of Blip Techno. Closing the disc, "Space 3" which is probably the most dancefloor piece of this Ep and shows the ingenuity of VFR to give groove and voltage to a song.

RAWAX PROUDLY PRESENTS THE 2ND RELEASE BY MURPHY JAX ON CHIWAX. AFTER HIS FANTASTIC DEBUT ALBUM "TELEPORT: ECHO CITY" MURPHY JAX RETURNS WITH TWO NEW TRACKS - ONE IN COLLABORATION WITH MIKE ANDERSON AND TWO REMIXES FROM HIS ALBUM BY JORI HULKKONEN AND NICK SIMONCINO!
There have been many different ways in describing the personal stories behind the protagonists of the electronical music scene in the 90ies. It´s in the nature of things that especially producers, whose place of work is the studio, remained rather in the background.
One of them is Ralf Hildenbeutel. He was the producer of Sven Väth´s most important releases such as "L'Esperanza" or "Fusion" and an essential creative part of the Eye Q label in the 90ies. His "Earth Nation" project was the first live act from that genre who was taking a drummer on the live stage, playing on international festivals and stages including the "Montreux Jazz Festival". The vita continues. While many other musicians kept on working on techno, Hildenbeutel composed for artists such as Laith Al-Deen or Phil´s son Simon Collins and wrote filmmusic for movies such as "Hommage á Noir" which won the Goldmedal for music on the New York Filmfestivals. The film adaption of Martion Suter's "Der Koch", "Ausgerechnet Sibirien", TV thriller such as "Kommissarin Lucas" or even the series of "Verbotene Liebe" have been scored by Ralf Hildenbeutel. His filmmusic for the international multi-awarded shortmovie "Momentum" was nominated at the Newport International Filmfestival. On "Moods" Hildenbeutel finds more back to electronical music. Fans of artists such as Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm or Jon Hopkins will enjoy this longplayer. Hildenbeutel mixes complex string-arrangements and piano pieces with clicks & cuts and invents his own coherent language which allows both directions to live in harmony. Elegiac compositions and vivacious, percussive breakouts as in "Spark" (for which an video by award-winning filmmaker Boris Seewald will be made) meet on this album.
An album which grows and gains depth with each hearing.

Sawf, Perc Trax's most mysterious artist returns to the label he calls home after EP's for Model Analysis, Audio Assault and M-Rec. This is his first
new material for Perc Trax since his well received album 'Flaws' in 2011 and shows him introducing new influences to his trademark grinding,
industrial sound.
First up is title track Menete, built around a 16th note synth line that recalls everything from classic EBM to more modern synth-led techno such as the recent Sleeparchive EP on Tresor. Closing the a-side is Toolio, a far too modest title for a track that is far from a disposable techno tool. An expert exercise in building percussion, this is closest to the sound people know from Sawf, but the best example of it yet.
Opening up the b-side is a remix from Yuji Kondo; know best for his work under both his own name and as half of Steven Porter on Semantica and TEN out of Japan. The remix is everything you'd expect from Yuji. A wall of broken-beat noise topped off by cut up vocals samples and a fluid, ever-changing arrangement. Closing the 12' is 'Diin'. A deeper, almost house-like cut from Sawf, building on a probing bass guitar line, proving he can do subtle and atmospheric as well as he does tough and confrontational.

For the next instalment of our mix series, we've arranged a special mix from a duo which we have shared close ties with for the last five years, having them regularly at the club as well as a couple of our infamous open airs at Rummelsburg in Berlin. Hailing from the USA, the stateside duo Soul Clap have been at the forefront of the dance music scene for over half a decade now and are well known for their blend of funk and soul to house, techno and everything in between. From peak time sets on the main floor to sun soaked closing sets on the water floor, the pair of Bostonians, Eli Goldstein and Charles Levine, are a DJ's DJ. Selecting from a vast array of genres spanning time and tempo, the duo have carved out a niche for themselves as unique artists with a stylistic flair in both the music they play and the way the present it. As with all of our Watergate mixes from the series, each one embodies the heart and soul of the club in a unique way. Whether its proper techno, deep house or somewhere in-between, the mixes, like the club, are obtuse in spectrum with a wide array of style and presentation.

Second release for Black Angus Records. DJ Soch's trip continues into the pulsing heart of House music. After the first release which explored the original forms of the sound of Chicago, with this release he moves towards another declared love: 90's New York underground House. Everything is brought together by his original, personal touch and careful ear to the freshest sounds of our times. "Street Groove" is definitely influenced by the tracky sounds of the earliest Masters at Work, the most inspired Todd Terry and the most important releases for Henry Street Records. A captivating sample, a drum machine roll and an entrancing bassline: pure house music! The remix by Nicholas takes original elements and recomposes it transforming the whole into a persuasive and deep track without losing even a drop of groove. "Kick & Tom" is the rawest and most direct track in the EP. Super funky Techno, like a train without stops devastating the dance floor. DJ Soch is old school that meets new, there is no future without the past. Black Angus only for Dj !

Lets go back to straight rhythmic and classic sounds:
Homeless House, known as DJ & Live-Project of Moire Patterns & DJ Kriton, have constructed the Irrational Beat Up EP' (MOC005). Live-Session originated sounds develop with each other and unite to a specific old school techno sound. The first track Irruptional Beat Up' convinces by a direct push of dirty kick and bass followed by catchy percussion & chords.
The second part, Astronaytis' branded by rough sounds and vocals, leads to a certain state of trance in which the snare-brakes take the perception back to reality.
The final part of the EP is covered by Sous Souls . Intense chord-progressions collide with solid beat structure & a slight bassline
to show up a lighter part of the before continuous dark sound.

Vernon Felicity is also known as Conforce and Boris Bunnik, the tireless Dutch producer who marries analog and digital sounds together into otherworldy sound tracks.
Now he is back on MOS once more after a new Conforce album on Delsin, and again he impresses with his unique ear for detail and ability to craft intricate sonic worlds.
The label's excellent 23rd EP kicks off with 'Fake Profile', an icy bit of deep techno with a sprawling 303 acid line and typically deep and soulful pads in the background. Dance floor ready but also super heady, it is rich in detail but full of groove. 'Induce' is a more broken beat pattern with lumpy 909 drums, lazy open hi hats and gloopy bass. Sombre, downbeat chords add real emotional resonance to this mid tempo house cut as it slowly trudges though the cosmos.
The flip finds 'Dropping Faces' get all manic and out of control, with whirring machines, wild drum programming and plenty of angst percussion. Subtle cow bells and distortion add texture and scale and it is the angriest cut here. Lastly, 'Running Late' rounds out an expertly varied EP with lush synth drones that slowly uplift you as the drums and percussion do their slick work down below. Once again, Vernon Felicity proves he can make every style of electronic music, and does so with real personality.

André Bratten grew up in Oslo on the border between a bustling city and a dense forest. That juxtaposition has informed his sound: Bratten skillfully imbues cosmic disco with intense cerebral techno. Bratten's cinematic tendency stems from his experience as a theater score composer, while his dancier side is influenced by the Norwegian disco scene that raised him. He released his debut album Be A Man You Ant (2013) on Prins Thomas' Full Pupp label, and shares a studio with Thomas, Todd Terje, and Lindstrøm. However, rather than simply emulate these figureheads, Bratten blazed his own trail, blending disco with a grim psychedelia rarely heard on the dance floor. Though Bratten has taken the Oslo scene outside of its comfort zone, that hasn't stopped "Trommer & Bass" from becoming a dance sensation around the world. The track, originally released on a compilation by Berlin-based label Correspondant, has been played by legends like DJ Harvey and Erol Alkan, and has solidified Bratten as the dense, ominous heir to the bright disco throne.
Bratten is fascinated by music that makes people feel like they're going crazy, and his first EP for Smalltown Supersound, Math Ilium Ion, does just that. The EP's complex trajectory gives it the scope of a full album — listeners are bound to question their sanity while progressing from the spacey synths of "Trommer & Bass" to the driving low end of "Minor Misconception." The slow build of the final track (deceptively titled "Intro").

For Clint's second solo effort on Second State he brings us two big room jams. With the Throwing Stones EP he takes the same approach as he did with the previous Warpaint EP by going for two different vibes on either side of the record.
On the A side we have 'Throwing Stones'; a peak time club tune perfect for dark spaces and strobe lights. With giant rolling sub bass, a heavy kick, crisp hi-hats and crunchy hand claps the groove slowly grows into a big break with atmospheric chimes and vocal snippets. Soon you are lost in an ethereal break, but suddenly snapped back into reality as the bass changes and a single looping synth takes center stage creating a driving yet euphoric peak time floor filler.
With the flip side, Clint goes for a warmer, uplifting tone with 'Come Undone'. Starting with finger snaps and a growing arpeggio, the vibe slowly builds as big toms and dreamy atmospherics introduce a massive sub bass line. As a shaker creeps up and another synth blends with the original arpeggio the beat finally drops. A solid four to the floor groove ensues and culminates into a wash of delayed chimes as the breakdown introduces the lead; an unforgettable brass line that is sure to have all the hands in the air at a sunny open air or a morning at the club.

The long awaited debut LP from Dark Sky is not entirely what you might expect from the London trio. After a string of club focused 12"s they delve deep to deliver a tender and uplifting offering entitled 'imagin.' To the sworn fan it may come as a surprise, but it will prove to be a pleasant one, as the evolution from the analogue metallic sounds that shaped their past discography naturally mature and slide into the sound palette of imagin.
Through heavy consumption of music from across the spectrum the trio's work has refined, and clearly echoes their heritage as kids of the 90's, referencing numerous influences the decade processed - the album bears traces of funk, post rock, a thick layer of trip hop, even balearic house, bossa nova, disco, 80ies pop and ambient. All of it heavily reverberated, stirred and shaken in Dark Sky's musical tumbler.
The outcome is captivating. Littered with sophisticated percussion, soft and subtle marimbas fused with sci-fi synths and tastefully delivered vocals throughout. Grey Reverend features on the lead single 'Silent Fall' to beautiful effect, with an outcome sitting somewhere between James Blake and Moderat. Elsewhere Cornelia (of Portico Quartet fame) delivers Elizabeth Fraser - like vocals on 'Nothing Chances,' 'Vivid' and 'Purple Clouds' providing a perfect soundtrack to the late summer.
Long standing Dark Sky fans will also be pleased to hear that there are more club orientated tracks on their too. 'Odyssey's' dark spacey arpeggios and growling bass line reminds us of their seminal electro-roller 'Confunktion,' but comes delivered complete with euphoric almost balearic stabs and straight stacked 4 x 4 hi-hats. 'Rainkist' is a soul laced dance floor ballade featuring vocals from an unlikely source in the form of d-Bridge with huge crossover potential, and 'Manuka' finally brings back the breakbeat with its percussive far-east vibes that evoke Truth Hurts & Rakim's 'Addictive,' which fittingly sums up this album.

Marshall Applewhite has released some stellar sounds via YoSucka!, HTK, and Detroit Underground aswell as a number of releases under the name OktoRed. Following up on his Clan Destine debut on the monumental "Dark Acid V". Marshall Applewhite presents his first solo venture on said label, "Advance Beyond Human". A cacophony of acid, ghettotech and pure filth all wrapped up with a sludge twist. On this EP Applewhite pushes the envelope of sonic decency, working an almost industrial feel purposed for after hour dance floor. Opening the EP is "Hey Girl", a call to the ghettotech sound Applewhite grew up on, but pushed into another dimension of bass. Next is the title track "Advance Beyond Human'", a noisy IDM/Acid track weird enough for even the darkest basement rave. Side B continues with the harsh industrial sounds with "Bull Head" and wraps up with an acid cover of what many consider to be the original Detroit Techno track, "Sharevari". All Tracks are pressed at 33rpm to be spun at either 33rpm or 45rpm for that ghettotech experience.

As music has always been their reason to live it made sense to launch a record label after 20 years in the business. Most artists on this release have a special bond with Loveland built up over many years of performing at their events and in some cases from the very start of their carreer. The vinyl showcases 7 exclusive tracks on two 12discs. From the bright and melodic sounds of Egbert, Vince Watson, Arjuna Schiks and Dosem to the repetitive hypnotizing grooves of Mathew Jonson, Anthony Rother and Aril Brikha this release covers a wide scope of quality music. Listen for yourself...
