The EBM-indebted techno funk of James Welsh's 'Thread' reemerges from the industrial fog, evolved into three outstanding remixes by a trio of established, emerging and somewhat unexpected artists.

Ozel AB delivers his debut remix, reimagining Thread to encompass a widescreen vision of depth and drama. Unfolding slowly and ethereally, with military kicks holding down a seemingly weightless, extended breakdown, his taste in dreamlike rave euphoria contains the same magic touch as it has done on previous, acclaimed releases for Workshop and Lobster Theremin.

On his 'Garten' remix, Radio Slave takes a percussive approach to the relatively raw electronics of the original track, adding a deceptively simple but immediately effective layer of drums to the production, before unleashing a more filtered and fucked-up interpretation of the riff to winning effect.

Finally, FC Kahuna may have been off-the-map for some time, but return here with a distinctive, playful and digital-exclusive take on Thread. Adding intriguing tension, whistling rave kettles and even a sense of the whimsical and the exotic to the original production, surprisingly silky flutes occasionally mingle with Welsh's initial acidic aesthetic.

Now here's something special. Johannes Brecht returns to Poker Flat with a little night music, a trio of deep, dramatic and driving house tunes that in their precision and invention are testimony to a distinctive intelligence. Since an impressive stint as musical director for Henrik Schwarz's 'Instruments' project and the subsequent release of 2013's 'Holla", Brecht's reputation has been growing steadily with a series of carefully crafted 12s. And if 'Trois Nocturnes' is anything to go by, 2015 is set to be his year. 'Nuages' hinges on a sinuous, snake-charming synth line. Instantly memorable, it's an exquisite headphone experience that's equally deadly on the dancefloor. The lilting 'Sirènes' teems with ideas, its big kick burnished with a dancing synth motif and a chamber orchestra of synthetic strings. Last but not least, the motorik 12-minute 'Fêtes' contrasts its knotty, brittle piano line with sus-tained pads and bright, striking syncopations.

The Anticipatory Organization is an energetic EP that could only be the work of The Sun God. There are three rousing tracks to stir the attention. The Things We Don't Know is a mesmerising key driven journey. It features gorgeous keyed sparkles, washing waves of acid and clopped beats. The Disbelief Habit is driven by a strong melody that really grabs you and won't let go. This is accompanied by a strong bassline, focused keys and closely held percussion. The Achievement Factory rounds off the EP with another distinctive musical effort that marches straight into the middle of the dancefloor. Punishing percussion and an in-step cavernous bassline are joined by loose acid and riffing keys. Once more, The Sun God delivers as only he can.

Swedish producer Toxe's sharp ascent through club-cursed climes has elicited the highest praise from the start. In just a few years she has linked up with Staycore and Halcyon Veil, presented an A/V project with The Vinyl Factory, and scored KENZO's FW 2016 prints presentation with close collaborator Mechatok. Her new EP 'Blinks' is a fractal bloom of candied melodies and minor laments set in a sweep of frenetic rhythmic scenes.Developed throughout last year, 'Blinks' journals a period of inward flux. And though this is never presented in an overtly self-conscious way on the EP, Toxe binds a sweet juvenilia with a bustling and eager pensive tone to outline her tessellating sense of self just below the surface.Meditative glimpses of soaring synthetic landscapes are woven across 'Blinks' in brief snatches. Awash in horrific and gripping fluorescent hues, these environments are augmented by a comically mischievous patchwork of voices and saccharine rasps that clamour for attention, hinting at Toxe's impulse to voice a simultaneous and unorganised set of experiences.The release is mastered by Jeremy Cox, featuring art by Jasper Spicero.

Sombrero Galaxy (also known as Messier Object 104, M104 or NGC 4594) is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 31 million light-years (9.5 Mpc)(2) from Earth. The galaxy has a diameter of approximately 50,000 light-years, 30% the size of the Milky Way. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk. The dark dust lane and the bulge give this galaxy the appearance of a sombrero. Astronomers initially thought that the halo was small and light, indicative of a spiral galaxy, but Spitzer found that the halo around the Sombrero Galaxy is larger and more massive than previously thought, indicative of a giant elliptical galaxy.(3) The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of +9.0, making it easily visible with amateur telescopes, and it is considered by some authors to be the brightest galaxy within a radius of 10 megaparsecs of the Milky Way. Its large bulge, its central supermassive black hole, and its dust lane all attract the attention of professional astronomers.

Flip it over and 'Divenire' sucks you into a web of arps and pads woven behind a pounding kick and disorientating panned snare samples, that'll entice you in until you're completely lost in those hypnotic rhythms.

K'Alexi Shelby & Robert Owens present 'Downtown', a track that's been getting the inner circle of the House music community quite excited over the past few years - some projects simply can't be rushed, and this labor of love is one of those very releases.

Often imitated but never replicated, Robert's instantly recognizable vocals have been tearing up dance floors since the late 80's, and here with his long time friend K' Alexi Shelby the pair have once again unleashed something special just in time for Record Store Day.

Flying the Chicago flag high, remixes take shape from the ever impressive Anthony Nicholson & Mike Dunn, whilst Greek supremo Anthony K adds in a totally different musical trip, each one ticks all the boxes required and impressively

In spring of 2012 Niederflur will add their latest statement to contemporary electronic music with another classic
album format on Snork Enterprises called "Wellenreiter". Here you find a collection of nine tracks ranging from
deep to driving. The title of the record means surfer in literal translation but what is expressed is something
Niederflur have always been doing: riding their own wave and bending genre-sounds as far as possible. On this
album you will find pieces of experimental breaks and lush ambient right next to straight Techno.
The Album comes in three different configurations: 12" vinyl including four for vinyl selected tracks, via download
and a live mix CD which contains new versions of all album tracks plus the three tracks of the 2011 release
"Teleservice EP" performed live by the artists.

Bitterfeld is most known for their production of drain-pipes, paper-roofing and their amazing chemical production industry but it's a little known fact that Bitterfeld are also responsible for the production of amazing music. Some 900 years after the city's foundation they've finally found the time to establish a music label to reflect the city's rich musical heritage. The first release comes from Guy Contact. Kirill Matveev and Brickman link energies on behalf of a powerful weapon for Russian based label: MixCult Records.

The EP leads with an enchanting dub inclined cut entitled Vice Man' which narrates a story of a dub marching techno soldier from the cold camps of Russia. The mood of this fine crafted art form places the listener in a victorious state of mind. As second, we find an experimentation of gender edges that form a medley of attenuating and danceable cuts called Milk Escape'. As the track progresses, we find the dub entrancing reverberations growing and flourishing into an impenetrable realm of splendor, making this one of MixCult's true favorite refrains. The EP comes to an end with Brickman's Multiverse' which amalgamates into an enchanting dualism between peak time breakdown and beginning of afterhours sound. Multiverse comes down as the equinox and as the romantic blanket of this expertly assembled release.

A project 18 months in the making, Marcel Fengler presents a IMF10, a three part compilation series detailing the past, present and future of his label Index Marcel Fengler.
Part 2 focuses on the warmer and more soulful side of IMF and features an outstanding array of artists making their debut for the label, all of which have a strong personal meaning to Fengler. There's FJAAK, the exciting Berlin trio he admires for their authentic identity and honest sound, a special Shed remix of the enigmatic VRIL whose timeless productions continue to strike a chord with him, good friend Eric Cloutier who he has long wanted to get involved in IMF and of course long-time label champion Thomas Hessler. Vienna's Arthur Robert - a new face Marcel discovered after he sent him tracks over Facebook - contributes a beautiful shimmering work to the compilation.
Highlighting this section of the project is the first AZUR track - Marcel's new side project. He explains: I've always liked to be diverse with my music, but I also don't want to confuse people. This is the reason why I decided to give my melodic side its own identity. My music under the Marcel Fengler name will go back to its roots and be more raw and rough in production terms.'
The final digital package will be complemented by a DJ mix from Thomas Hessler comprised of tracks from IMF10.

Completing a quick fire trio of new EPs, Constant Sound hits release number six with a pair of new tracks from VRSION that come with a dance floor friendly remix from Persuader. VRSION is a German producer who has already made a big impact with his release on Craig Richards' excellent The Nothing Special label. Following up that in fine style is the opener here, 'Torn', which is a hurried and urgent track that sits on the divide between house and techno. It is driven and slick, rubbery and hypnotic but has plenty of nuance and funk in its well programmed drums. Some occult sounds and wordless vocals embellished the whole thing and it really is the sort of track that blows dance floors apart and will stand out in any set. 'Capricorn Meet Leo' then toys with kinked drum patterns, rattling percussion and fathom deep bass that sucks you right into VRSION's world. It's a restless place where harmonies ride up and down the scale, cause claps come at you from odd angles and dark vocals add a sense of paranoia. Remixing this one is Persuader, who does so with a stripped back sense of restrain. he retains the original's weirdness, but layers in serene pads and tripped out atmospherics that really make it ripe for playing at 4am. This is the most adventurous release yet for Constant Sound, and is sure to prove one of its bets as a result.

The Meant label really is on a fine run in 2015, and now offers up its 3rd release of the year. This one is a brilliant, club ready package from Rework and features excellent original material alongside carefully ClickBox remix.

Rework is a German collaborative project between Daniel Varga, Michael Kuebler and Sascha Hedgehog. As well as having ties to this label, they have released on Items & Things, Visionquest and Playhouse, and high profile fans include Seth Troxler. The creative trio has been doing this more than 15 years now, and as such is as good at making essential 12's as it is full length albums.

Opener 'Too Forward' is a freaky bit of slow motion electronic house. Vast kicks form the marching beat as trippy vocals repeat the title's refrain until it loses all form. Around it, sparking electronics and phased synth lines make for a fine cacophony that will undoubtedly freak out 'floors. The devilishly dark and alluring 'Overdosed' is a more up tempo track with shadowy post punk energy. No wave synths gurgle and tinny chords light up the centre as a disaffected vocal mutters about overdosing over the top.

It's another perfectly freaky track. Last offering 'Candy And Korg'
is a wiggling, synthetic house track cut from the Gemini mould.
It's bubbly, rich and subtly groovy and is the sort of thing you'd hear in a Craig Richards set.

Magda favourites ClickBox then remix this one into a sparse but elastic affair with dry hi hats the main hook of a perfectly reduced minimal track.Once again here Meant and Rework have cooked up a perfect dance floor storm.

The label presents a new series: V.A. Friends & Buddies, including tracks from Bress Underground, Ruff Stuff and Lucas Welles.

The A1 track "Sneakers" comes from the founder of the label Bress Underground: powerful house impactful on the floor.

Flipping the side, Bress Underground comes back with 'Good, Thanks!" and its very hypnotic house groove.

The young Lucas Welle close the record in a stylish way with the track "I Wanna Know', fresh and right for summer days.

With a common language of abstract, modular techno Donato Dozzy and Peter van Hoesen are no strangers to each other's music or studios. 'Storta' has that psychedelic tribal aesthetic that has come to define their most recent live-hybrid performances. Dutch producer Deniro has garnered a more cult-like reputation for his spacey, progressive jams one that has earned him the admiration of Nina Kraviz who recently released his new EP Mendoza on her Trip label. Returning to Dekmantel, Deniro drives a soulful, journey to an intergalactic world that was shaped by the Gods of Detroit - smooth sauce, that Derrick May would surely approve of. Talismann, aka. Guy Blanken, aka. Makam, is the much travelled Dutch producer with a specialty for hypnotic drones, and apocalyptic rhythms. With a much beloved self-titled imprint distributed through Clone, Talismann makes his first foray onto the Dekmantel imprint with 'Aciano', a haunting series of raw acid, and prophetic beats. 'Sexual Frustration' by Matrixxman, is a continuation of the American producer's ever-growing relationship with Dekmantel. With three excellent EPs already released with the Dutch imprint Nubian Metropolis, Sector I: Rhythm, and Sector II: Acid- the latest endeavour by Charles Duff highlights his analogue dexterity, when a soft-pallette of vibrant, almost electro-like sounds.

After throwing their first ever party in the Dutch capital a decade ago, Dekmantel have come to establish themselves in underground music. 2017 saw Dekmantel launch a new festival in Brazil, adding to their Dutch outing in, as well as their Croatian jaunt, Selectors. Going from strength to strength, the label kicked off their, ten-part EP series in March. With one EP released every month, the series has been embracing all the musical varieties Dekmantel has come to represent. Featuring label favourites, along with a whole bunch of new faces, iconic artists, and select debuts, the 10-year series is an, collection of timeless music that embraces everything they’ve done to date, while setting a precedent for things to come.

The 3 track EP from VAVAV on NYC's Ninetofire is a warm and analog affair with intricate arrangements, melodically and harmonically rich with subtle complexity and soundscapes organically evolving over solid structures of beats and grooves from the 808 main engine.

Yuri Shulgin is a multi-instrumentalist music producer from Tajikistan. His discography includes a small number of releases from the Greek label Modernista and the French Escapade Recordings. Animal Planet is his contribution on Cocktail d'Amore Music. This EP is a live-recorded masterpiece that will lift dance floors into heavenly heights. A1 takes the record title. It's an acid based, genre-blurring piece of music, enveloping and disorienting at the same time. Infinite strings melt together to a constant build up, reminiscent of Steve Reich - Double Sextet/2x5.
Boogie Space feels like the continuation of the previous track, evoking a cloud of glitter in absence of gravity.
Walking starts off the B side. Its funk future jazz-influenced groove is supported by an organic, as bouncy as timeless bassline. While the stripped down Dubby Body goes to deep realms, the outro Recordtake closes this surreal EP.

What a year 2014 was for us as a label. Starting with the release of my Lifer Concluded EP, featuring incredible producers Addison Groove, Fur Coat, Livio & Roby and Maetrik. Later in the year we went on to release one of the most explorable and rewarding projects we have been involved in as a label; Wolfgang Haffner 'The Remixes'. A 6 track EP with some of the biggest names in electronic music, Ricardo Villalobos, Nightmares On Wax, Acid Mondays, Max Loderbauer and myself. With the success of 'The Remixes' we knew we would have to release another strong EP to follow. Myself and Rockets & Ponies are proud to bring you our rst release of 2015: Acid Mondays, 'Chi Ka Pasa'.


Acid Mondays join us again for a vinyl and digital release, an EP packed full with their unique musical experimentation and daring productions which has seen them release on infamous labels such as 2020Vision, Circus and most recently in 2015 One Records with their 'Schlurptastic' EP. At R&P we think of ourselves as a platform for artists and producers to ask questions and push the boundaries of electronic music, Acid Mondays are the perfect example of this. Acid Mondays original track 'Chi Ka Pasa' as well as their '5D Mix' & 'Dub Mix' of the original track shows their impeccable production control. Rolling bongos are set against loose shimmers and rattles which are sporadically interrupted by short sharp keys and haunting, whispering vocals that we hear throughout the EP. One thing I love about these tracks is they are so versatile, I can see them being played around the world at various venues by different artists and I am really looking forward to dropping them on the terrace at DC10 this summer.


Joining Acid Mondays on 'Chi Ka Pasa,' with two reworks, is the highly talented (and Toi Toi favourite), Ion Ludwig. With releases on Lick My Deck, Meandar Music and Trelik Ion has proved his ability time and time again. His two mix's of Acid Mondays original track 'Chi Ka Pasa' bring new meanings and a new story to the tracks. His 'Progmix II', which will only be released on vinyl, brings a more direct and percussive element to the track, whilst his digital 'Progmantra Mix' creates a hazy atmospheric essence. The addition of distant sirens and a grooving bubbling bassline allow our minds and bodies to move, whilst still controlled by vocals and mystery.


The balance of Acid Mondays and Ion Ludwig is one of delicate, intricate productions with exciting experimentation and musical evolution. The forward thinking aspects on this EP are in line with both my own and Rockets & Ponies style, ambition and creativity. Listen to it, see if we are wrong!

A deep listening experience focused on repetition and timbre, Bow Wave was made using rare and unique instruments such as a special sensor bow for cello (and other string instruments) known as the "Fello," which Otto developed during his residencies at the STEIM research centre in Amsterdam. The album also features vocals from award-winning Indian playback singer, actor, and TV anchor M.D. Pallavi, a frequent Otto collaborator, recorded while the two were touring Japan.

After a 5 months hiatus the Appointment krew (Emg, Marieu, John Swing and Lucretio) is back to the game with another cluster bomb manufactured up to the latest discoveries in analogue techniques. 'Les Appointment Royale' is the seventh quest of the Appointment program. 4 organic tracks of mesmerizing techno, ranging from condensed House somnambulism to electrostatic power outages, designed to provoke severe transient faults on dancefloors.

Appointment008 is an extract of the seminal rehearsals of the Appointment Live Act recorded on ferromagnetic tape. Each side lasts a dozen of minutes and endorses the Appointment Live Act innovative potential.
The Appointment Live Act is not grounded on prearranged phrase or patterns: every performance is unique and unrepeatable. Marieu samples vinyls ad-lib and adds noises and blips with a little Korg monster, John Swing controls the delays and writes relentless drums on a tr-909, Lucretio arranges emergent structured on an analogue sequencer,EMG plays out this structures from an insurgent Vermona Perfourmer and explores the sonic spectrum with a German grainy filter. Distortion, saturation, improvisation, breaks, funk and techno: the Appointment Live Act goes beyond minimalism to reach out the inner functions of the waveforms transmission.

Back in 1995 while living on the West Coast, at the peak of the Rave Experience, Dj Spun and Dhyan Moller recorded a bunch of live tracks, without any sequencer, all direct to cassettes.
Spun aka Jason Drummond, reached out last spring after rediscovering all the cassettes and asked us if we'd be interested in releasing some of the tunes.
Jason shipped us the cassettes and after a good transferring session, we decided we had to release all the tracks under a 3LP set. This stuff is fire. We still love DJ SPUN - and Dhyan Moller!

Following Hammer's stand out release on Loft Records last year, 'Canna' gets the remix treatment by four killer producers.

First up, Lauer adds his trademark flavour to the already outstanding title track 'Canna', bending the mind with an acidic top line and classic Korg M1 bells.The A2 sees Supreems take the techno edge off 'Man Ray' replacing the drums with a more electro tinged style of rhythm, whilst echoing the synths into the back of the mix to let the drums take the foreground.

Flip it over and you get two reworkings of 'Manaka'. Firstly, Domenic Cappello switches the breaksy flow of the original for a more club ready kick to compliment those stabs, in turn elevating the breakdown to greater effect. In contrast, Lord Of The Isles dives deeper into the breaks feel of Hammer's original, adding glitchy samples and oddball synth lines to take this one an even more interplanetary tip.

Relative 16th instalment sees label head John Swing back at the controls with a killer four track EP. The title track 'Get Rhythm' comes with Relative's signature gritty house sound in its Original Mix while the Arp Mix shakes peak time dance floors with hypnotic arpeggios and rumbling drums. The B side opens up with a relentless african congas ride boosting the rhythmic section with an energetic afro feel. The "Other Version" closes this meteoric EP with a deep, jackin' cut-throat groove.

Relative 017 features 4 unreleased house tracks by John Swing. A solid 4 tracker bringing back the classic swing touch that's been influential to the labels peculiar sound. This is the first of a series of Swings unreleased material. Limited press.

Assorted Moods is a turning point in John Swing's artistic output straying from his signature house and techno sound, towards many of his other influences gathered in the years: from jazz to dub, funk to hip hop and of course, club music.
This 10 track LP serves the purpose of bringing to light all these influences and unifying them under one piece of work that's been conceived with no preconceptions: Assorted Moods could be considered as a first step towards an unconstrained approach to production which focuses on the journey, the soundscape and the effects, crossing-over between many genres and styles.
Opening with the meandering 'Talking Tones', the album brings to light and unifies all of these influences from start to finish, with each track executed live using analog gear exemplary of LiveJam's signature aesthetic. Productions like 'Touch' capture a jazzy essence, whilst the soothing chords of 'Healing Tones' ooze with soul. Others, like 'Groove Motion' and 'Freedom of Speech', are more suited to the dancefloor with infectious snare hits, deep stabs and low-slung grooves.
All in all, 'Assorted Moods' demonstrates John Swing's broad palette of musical styles and makes for another exciting chapter in LiveJam's exceptional output.

It was a matter of time until John Swing finally made his debut on Warm Sounds with three cuts in collaboration with the yet unknown David Soleil-Mon. Considering John Swing's previous material, this featuring defines a fresh approach to the composition. The signature raw grooves that have so far delivered stripped down, minimalistic house gems are now opening up to more meditative states of mind through a crafty combination of tones. Every element sounds organically in its place: A1 delivers the right energy for the conscious dancefloor while A2 steps forward towards a more futuristic groove aesthetic. On the B side, Searchin' pleasures us with a lo-fi 11 min journey crossing over from dub to jazz while still keeping the signature house sound. Since its launch at The BPM festival at the beginning of the year, Hector's VL Recordings imprint has be making it's mark as a fresh breeding ground for some of the finest talent the underground has to offer. To finish off the year as strong as they started, Hector called upon one of London's finest selectors Seb Zito to host the fourth release of 2016, with his four-track 'My Sound' EP
Seb Zito is best known for his efforts as a core member of one of London's most treasured event series, Fuse London, where he also acts as the label offshoots main A&R.
2016 stepped right up for Seb and saw him make an impact on Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory, where he recently put his stamp on two of the labels releases.One for the man himself on 'Turn Off The Lights (Who's afraid of the Dark) , and the other for Jamie Jones's debut effort on Kaoz Theroy on 'Old Skool Acid'.
For his contribution to VL Recordings Seb Zito has created five tracks that that ring true to the trademark sound of his London roots, dating back to the days he cut his teeth on the early garage rave scene in the capital.

Bade Records launch the first vinyl release on the label, with a four-track EP by label co-founders Brothers Black and Tape Fear.

'2x2 Series 1" is a split vinyl, showcasing the individual styles of the duos. Brothers Black kick off the A1 with 'Extrasensory', a shimmering tool with luscious, uplifting pads and a looping lead. Their second contribution on the A2, 'Late Night Call', is a driving euphoric weapon, perfect for the early hours of the morning.

On the other side, Tape Fear showcase their unique sound for the first time. 'Jump System', the lead track, provides a complex blend of old-school breaks, euphoric pads and vocal samples that will be received well in any setting. 'Turn That thing off' offers something different with a fierce 808 groove and unsettling acid lead, perfect for the early hours.

Vinalog's new EP on Relative delivers raging club music with 4 cuts balancing the UK and Berlin sound with a masterful touch. The two mixes of 'Flashback' on the A side provide raw, nasty house with a punchy groove and luscious vocal samples. B side sees two variations of the same motif: 'Recall 97' has strong UK bass heavy influences with an acid touch and spanish-mumbling vocals, while 'ReDub 97' is a more stripped down version of the latter able to deliver for the dance floor with a more broken-beat rhythmic pattern.

NYC singer Amy Douglas makes her official DFA debut with 'Never Saw It Coming', co-written and produced by Tim Wagner of 33Hz, with two remixes by Sheffield artist Crooked Man.

Man Power his raw electronic sound, organic flourishes and diverse selection make him a perfect match for DGTL, both on stage as well as on the imprint. Next to releasing a steady flow of records on established labels like ESP Institute, Optimo Trax, Correspondant and Hivern Discs, Man Power is running his own shop as well: Me Me Me. This gives him an outlet to release music by both friends and himself. For his release on DGTL Records he created a three-track EP called Apologue EP, that showcases just two of different sides of his multi-faceted musical scope.

The a-side features two firm, acid influenced tracks. The first of these two, The Duelist, is an emotive house record, with a soundscape of piano melodies, synths and syncopated percussion laid on top of an acid bassline. El Mago del Tiempo features heavy hitting kicks combined with a sharp synth pattern. It has a long build up that keeps evolving throughout the entire composition. Halfway through, the track breaks in to a raw and fierce rhythm accompanied by yearning, drawn-out synth pads.
On the flipside, Put Your Hands on the Car (And Get Ready To Die) brings back memories of a long gone past with nods to Balearic Pop, EBM, and the Soundtrack work of Stewart Copeland, James Horner, and Jan Hammer. This multi layered production has a warm and analogue sounding feel to it that rounds off a 3 dimensional release.

E-Missions co-founder P.Leone returns to Radio Slave's Rekids this September with 'The My Lita Project' backed with remixes from Mark Broom.Originally hailing from New York, P.Leone now resides in Berlin where he helms his E-Missions imprint with releases from himself and co-founder Caiazzo, exciting new artists like Rush Plus and Tred, not to mention remixes from Young Male, Spencer Parker and Lawrence Lee. Leone has also dropped a variety of releases on Rekids and Work Them Records, when not making regular appearances at clubs like Tresorand ://about blank. He now returns to Radio Slave's respected imprint with 'The My Lita Project', following up his highly lauded 'El Dorado' EP that garnered support from Ben Sims, Jackmaster and Spencer Parker.
'My Lita' kicks things off with classic synths, piercing strings and choppy vocals slices whilst robust drums march forward. Meanwhile, 'Tight In The Pocket' is more dark and menacing in comparison with its syncopated percussion, echoing claps and ethereal atmospherics. On the flip, Mark Broom drops two different remixes of 'My Lita'; the first is a robust cut complete with disco elements like funky guitar licks and soulful voice, with the original's stabs shining throughout, whilst the second remix takes a different route with its crunchy snares, moaning murmurs and fuzzy effects.

His Desert Brothers EP, consists of 3 tracks, Hide, Withdrawal and, of course, Desert Brothers. It's not easy to classify the ep in a specific music genre. All 3 tracks have a very distinctive drums programming and groovy bass. They could be easily played in a big club during the peak time of a set or at a dark basement during the after hours. They have this strange deepness that calms you down but at the same time the first kick after the break easily gets your fist up.

Here at the Genial headquarters, we always try to find the balance between things, people, relationships, music and maybe Stefan Dichev has just done that with his Desert Brothers EP... He found the balance!

Fresh from starting his own label Insult To Injury, Timothy Clerkin returns to Ransom Note Records with the 'Knife Edge Heart' EP. Three tracks of stirring techno for dark basements and warm hearts. Timothy is a very interesting man, but he's also the sort of person who'd rather let his music do the talking, so we'll move on swiftly. The MVP here is 'Knife Edge Heart', an unabashed pop song whose shimmering exterior is cut through with flashes of steely darkness. Frequent collaborator Natalie Reiss' glacial voice is held at the perfect level of remove, while Timothy allows his love of shoegaze to blossom with a guitar line that seems to extend like a ladder to the stars.'With You' bridges Timothy's opposing impulses, balancing sparkling synths and a celestial vocal sample with churning low-end, while 'Divisive' is paranoid warehouse techno at its very best. With his debut solo album out soon on Phantasy, Gabe Gurnsey of Factory Floor stops by for a lurching, seasick remix of 'Knife Edge Heart' that sounds like the onset of the robot apocalypse we've all been promised for so long. After cutting his teeth as one half of Eskimo Twins, Timothy launched his solo career in 2014 under the now-retired Heretic moniker. He's since released on labels including Throne of Blood, Hard Fist and Days of Being Wild. Timothy's last release on R$N was the 'Serenade' EP, which brought us plenty of special moments last year - most memorably Andrew Weatherall closing out his Houghton quarry set with 'Execute'. February 2017, a new label is born. Headquartered in Germany, These Eyes has a clear mission statement: Underground electronic music accompanied by unique design and an uncompromising ethos. The first release comes from founder André Hommen. Having ran New York's Objektivity for many years, Hommen has decided that now is the time to craft something new.

Title track ‚These Eyes' has been played by André over the past 12 months and has received a huge track-ID response all over the web. A future classic.

Cleveland is forever in search of the brown note. This is his second offering for the ESP Institute. Side A's Tusk is a beautiful paradox—rhythm programs that churn like the inner workings of a grandfather clock, unmistakably mechanical, yet fashioned through muted analogue instrumentation that paints a deceptively organic picture. The crystallized jangle of FM synth voices toy with the softened drum patterns and vibrant animal-like chord gestures over nearly seven minutes of splendor. On side B, Aku digs further into mysticism, manifesting digital jungle themes, cleverly abstracted through erratic bleeps, distant tribal drums, atonal flutters and synthetic bird calls. The cinematic quality of Clevelands production shines through both tracks, but its Aku that sweeps us from reality to embark on a moonlit expedition in search long lost treasures, proving Cleveland a virtuoso skilled in building complex narratives with sound. These two songs will modulate your frequencies.

Seth Troxler's always dynamite Play It Say It label kicks off 2018 with a thrilling three track EP from Heartthrob.
Jesse Siminski aka Heartthrob has long been an essential voice in the global techno conversation. From early EPs and LPs on the influential Minus label via a trio of releases on his own ISNISNT, he has explored every facet of house and techno in great detail. Always conjuring up bold melodies and slick arrangements, this is his first solo outing in a few years and marks a very welcome return.
The fantastic opening track is 'Stop Lorraine (No One's Gunna Stop Mix)', which is eight freaky minutes of busy tech edged house. A rubbery, kinked bassline drives things along while paranoid voices are staved in amongst falling melodic rain, spitting hi-hats and bouncing kicks. It's colourful and off kilter and sure to awaken any dance floor.
The more trippy 'Triangle' then glides along on deeper drums as knotted bass keeps busy down low. It's a quick, slick track with jerky percussion and sci-fi synths that have the same sense of raw energy as Belgium's famous EBM scene. It's a wild one that builds and builds in ever more arresting ways.
The brilliantly unhinged computer game soundtrack that is 'Nairobi Candles (Fuck Rachel Tension Mix' completes the hat trick. Busy pixelated melodies, shooting synths and wonky piano chords all keep busy above a clipped techno groove that cannot fail to get you up on your toes.
These three tracks are perfectly designed dance floor weapons that prove Heartthrob is still one of the best out there. The release is finished off with artwork based on a painting of Jesse's, featuring one of London's best love industry figures in a homage to one of the 70's greatest soul albums.
