House Vinyl New Releases - News

Not necessarily back by popular demand or anything - however, we're on a mission none the less to disprove the theory that sequels can't ever live up to originals with part 2 of "I Love You .. But I've Chosen Disco"

dave allison, weekend express, dj total m, and suonho comprise this outing's roster and comes complete on tasty orange vinyl (actual picture above). same deal as always - limited pressings, no digital release, etc etc.

Yellorange must be considered one of the most prolific house music labels in history. Founded in 1998 by the legendary Tony Humphries, the label closed its doors after a short run only in 2003 when Strictly Rhythm (who handled its distribution) collapsed. In those few years, the label put out nothing but quality music, with many -if not all - of these releases being considered a classic nowadays - just think of "Rescue Me" by Sunkids, "Freedom" by Midnight Express featuring Sabrina Johnston, "In my Arms" by DJ Pope & Una, "It's Alright" by 8B or "Ups & downs" by Kimiesha Holmes to name only a few.

Kasper Bjørke is the Danish multi-talent whose second album 'Standing On Top of Utopia' was recently released on hfn music to much international applause. The beautiful, classic-analog meets cutting-edge-futuristic sound of the album has kick started a revolution in post-electronic stylings where songwriting and genuine musical ideas stand in the forefront of tough beats or unnerving trippyness.

Em Vee's on-point Lumberjacks In Hell imprint reaches its fifth release with another three disco edits par excellence. This time around, it's the turn of Germany's Frico and British edit specialist Mannmademusic to supply the goods. Frico dominates the A-Side with his fast-moving edit of Coffee's "Casanova", teasing out its vocal hook with an extended piano build-up. On the B-Side Manmademusic offers two cuts; first up is "Circles", a guitar led stomper with loose percussion, which serves as the perfect contrast to the slow moving, symphonic disco strings and syrupy vocals of "Easy Lover". Another winner for what is surely one of the more discerning disco labels out there.

The Mike Simonetti "edit dump" continues... In his grand tradition of another round from his vast "archive" (AKA his Itunes folder) of old (and some new) edits he has done over the years. The a-side is one of his floor fillers, a live version of one of his favorite songs
of all time, while the b-side takes it to the obscure side with a slow heavy burner you most definitely never heard before. (Mike has a notoriously sick record collection). Rounding out the 12" is an obscure track from a very popular new wave band of the 80s...
