House Vinyl New Releases - News

Much love from the man from Down Under!

Electronic Emergencies kicks off 2018 with its 20th release. On the Kosmostrator On Venus EP, Bosnian DJ and producer Borgie has rocketed himself into deep, deep space, far beyond planet Italo. The sound of the four tracks on Borgie's second EP for Electronic Emergencies is deep, has dark edges and is extremely danceable. Ruud Lekx did a brilliant mastering job and Meinhard Spoor designed the extraordinary cover.

Our new release is here and perhaps to some of you, WLDV will need no introduction considering that this talented DJ and producer has just released on the well-known and cult label Giallo Disco a little while ago. Once again We´d like to present a new painstaking limited edition with a cute 12 ' golden vinyl. It´s 'Ritual of Six' and this one is a gripping and mysterious album which is made up of six creepy and catchy tracks mastered by Manel Ruiz. Indeed,a brilliant work where bloodcurdling sounds, hypnotics atmospheres and thunderous analog arps can make you to look through the keyhole and see a little bit of hell gate. Art by Marta Mejias.

The frosts of Finland are blasted away by the radiate synthesizer sunlight of Surf Dancer! Rich analogue textures are supported by Surf Dancer's love of the vocoder, computer-spoken lyrics twirling amidst addictive melodies and clean-cut beats. Sweet notes and even sweeter words swirl in this world of ray guns, unicorns and of course rainbows. Strings soar skyward in the elation of Rainbow Man' before the sleek funk of Rocket in my Pocket'. Joy pours from the needle drop, instant happiness and body moving music from start to finish, the end coming in the xylophonic goodness of Future in the Night'.

The Vivien Vee project, an Italian singer discovered and produced by young duo Claudio Simonetti - Giancarlo Meo, has certainly been one of the first and best attempts to impose a clear European-style disco music. The first tracks, as well as the sequels, will be released from the banana records and the real big international success comes in 1983 with this album "with vivien vee", thanks in particular to the 2 strong singles "Higher" and "Blue Disease". This album, produced entirely by Giancarlo Meo, contains, in this rare special edition, 6 tracks in extended original versions, very rare to be found individually. Featuring a sound that is still up to date, it also meets the most demanding palates for the finest style of the best disc, all in one single vinyl: From the powerful and robust funky electronic to "Destiny" and "Wanna Feel" reminding of the best production of Change and Peter Jacques Band, still transmitted by milano international classic, "Gotta Go" in pure Imagination style, to the absolute pearls in "Higher" (cult of disco-disco) and "Blue Disease" explosive electro break synth-pop. Particularly important is that the texts are signed by the great Rossana Casale. Basically a vinyl that is unmissable for any collector or fan of the best Italian productions in the 80's.

E. LIVE finally gives in to the global pressure to get both of these tracks a proper release & who better to handle it than the crew at Star Creature HQ. E LIVE takes the vocal duties for the hot A Side reminiscent of his first single's A Side "EVERYBODY". The B Side is a smooth spacey instrumental jam. Debut release on E. LIVE's

Previous lauded releases on Italians Do It Better, Bear Funk and Eskimo. The single YAML was released as a 12' in May 2017 and the video premiered by music, fashion and culture mag Blackbook. DJ-producer- sound designer Bottin actually calls La Serenissima home - though he has actually been one of Europe's most hard-working and traveled DJs. Back home he has remixed many top Italian pop artists, and also worked with Benetton's Fabrica.' On his new album, I Have What I Gave, out October 6th on 2MR, Retrogroove, and TIN, Italian musician Bottin outdoes himself. He crafts propulsive, disco-laden scores for films not yet made, and introspective, mind-expanding cuts designed to ensure that people who want to dance never get caught up in conventional experiences. Each moment with Bottin is a memorable one. One thing that sets I Have What I Gave apart from his pioneering Horror Disco and much-loved Punica Fides LPs is that this time around Bottin didn't see to it to create a concept-album structure. Everything came at once during the writing and recording process, which no doubt gives the album its intensity and sense of immediacy. But even if the album didn't come about in a series of tightly crafted experiments, it doesn't sound messy or chaotic. It's just the opposite. Bottin has managed to take bits and pieces of sounds, some short loops and orphaned arpeggios, and a handful of vocal samples, and put them t ogether into an album that unifies 10 songs of divergent trajectories into an outstanding body of work that absolutely kills. Also Available From Bottin: YAML.

Terrific 12¨ purple vinyl and as Waste Editions crew are really into emotive and personal sounds ,on this occasion this new release 'Inside us ' by Old Coroner can´t be otherwise. We can´t talk about a trend since the producer from Barcelona Victor Safont ,who is the man behind this project ,started producing synthwave music in 2003. Yes siree! Powerful beats ,dark textures and touching melodies which are perfect for a diabolic dance floor or a meeting at a lodge.

Cin Cin, the label from Fort Romeau and Ali Tillett is proud to present its 9th release. First up, fresh from a storming solo release on Numbers and one half of esteemed production duo Tiger & Woods, Marco Passarani delivers two acidic jack-trax suitable for any occasion. On the flip New Yorker Evan Michael gives us two anthems that seamlessly mix techno, acid and italo to excellent effect. guaranteed peak time pleasers all round!

Mothball Record continue to branch out from their Italo-disco roots while staying true to a high quality of unique and obscure music. This latest release is a collection of 90s rave and hardcore inspired tracks with an unmistakable euphoric/melancholic Dutch flavor from mysterious producer Ruud Jansen. No less than six strong and diverse tracks provide options for all occasions, from home listening to techno parade.

B/E/A/T/B/O/X is a primer, to be sure, but it's a strong one beset with an LP's length and signifiers (an intro, strong sequencing, the penultimate instrumental). Glass Candy's previous false starts can now be dismissed as pulled punches, or a band in its genesis, either way, this record marks a flat-out improvement. B/E/A/T/B/O/X informally dashes Glass Candy as "OMG punks w/ synths" and officially announces Glass Candy: aggressive, formidable beat-mongerers. - 8.1/10 Pitchfork

There are two things, that really set Terre Des Pommes apart from all other labels with all their cool DJ friends : A: no cool DJ friends, B: the CEO himself aka Saap really listens to all demos he receives, honestly.. To him running a label is all about fresh blood and unexpected new talents! Even when it comes to remixers.. No wonder the lucky chaps that go by the beautiful name of Schlango Mango hit the jackpot when hiding a minidisc in Saap's daily Italian food delivery.. still chewing on Spuma di Pizza-Schnitzel the boss called them up and made the deal.. Schlango Mango met Gerd Janson and Shan at a LAN party in the Shire. They shared similar interests.. the rest is histology ..

(The Cosmic Disco Remixes)

Continuing with a series that focusses on brilliant remixes of I-Robots originals, Opilec Music now bring together two more Italian legends of the scene in Alexander Robotnick and Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi.

They both turn out reworks of Kind of Intrigue from 2009 as part of an ongoing project that is all based around the impact of Isaac Asimov's Laws of Robotics and features art by Tamami Saito. Santiago Salazar and Mr. Raoul K, Los Hermanos and Gary Martin and more are all part of this ongoing concept which again comes up with the goods here. Alexander Robotnick is a living electronic music legend from Italy who pioneered an Italo disco sound in the 80s and is still going strong.

From scoring films to remixing big name stars via turning out essential electro tracks, he is a top talent who proves that once more here. His excellent version of the original is built on firm kicks and has big colourful chords, wavy bass and twinkling melodies all making for a serene, spaced out groove. Muttered vocals and sci-fi signifiers all make it a hot and steamy affair perfect for summer sessions.

Daniele Baldelli is a cult star from the Italo world and here he teams up with Marco Dionigi to make for a dream production pairing. Dionigi is boss of Quantistic Division and has turned out many seminal albums and EPs since the mid 90s. He was there at the birth of digital technology, has created new genres such as Slow Motion and knows how to cook up a hypnotic melody, as evidenced here.

Their take on Kind Of Intrigue is more subtle and stripped back. It has widescreen synths stretching in all directions, wet and gurgling disco arps and spoken word monologues musing on robots. It is perfectly trippy and analogue and is stuffed with classic Italo vibes of the sort that will make it a big hit with boat parties crew and Balearic lovers everywhere this summer.

This package is another in a long line of classic but modern disco releases that prove Opilec Music does things properly each and every time.

Two Parisians, Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris, exiled in London for the better part of the last ten year set out to re-define space. It's a fine line was born from non-restraint, cultivating its own vision of house music and disco, a paradoxical one, a non-functional one.

Their first LP (thought, rebuilt, announced, delayed) reveals itself as a collection of tests, of explorations in the shadows and corners of club culture. These are murky roads where counterfeit goes for gold standard, perfect territory to lose oneself in order to find ones way. Leaving behind the smooth highways of club music, they rode more chaotic trails, with dubious reputation or names: white funk, trance groove, electronic psychedelia, greasy, rock'n'roll... A risky path, ambivalent, proud of accidents, crashes and bad taste, but the only real way to discover virgin grounds on well-trodden terrain. They are writing their own (hi)story.

For this album, Tim and Ivan recruited three double agents, the flame of Alex Kapranos, singer of Franz Ferdinand, the mysterious voice of Olivia de Lanzac from cult band Quad Throw Salchow and the pitched down, spectre of label companion C.A.R. Three tweaked but prominent voices, joining in an album that confounds through the coherence of its eclecticism and the rigorous mirage of its style.

Renowned artistGareth McConnell adds his indispensable touch to the artwork and video, encompassing the exact image of this record: hypnotic and kaleidoscopic, a celestial trip recorded on an used VHS tape.

Project formed by Mynationshit and Sentionaut which is influenced by horror movies .They definitely love directors such as Dario Argento ,John Carpenter,Wes Craven, Mario Bava and of course their hypnotist aesthetics and sinister atmospheres. .On this occasion, They have recorded an eerie album with two outstanding remixes by Hyboid and Synth Alien and also four tracks of them where black cats, stained glass window and darkness are always present. This is called 'Sequanza Lunga' and obviously is inspired by Suspiria which is a 1977 Italian horror film directed by Dario Argento.

The second Phalanx release is called "Lost In Your Eyes". The track is composed and arranged by Joey Mauro and sound engineered and mixed by Laurent Gelmetti, who has been mixing and sound engineering the most of the Aleph tracks in the 80s. "Lost In Your Eyes" vinyl has four different mixes from this powerful track, which has the same energy as the Aleph tracks had in the past. The male vocals belong to Terence Holler and the female vocalist is Clara Moroni, also familiar name from the 80s Time Records productions.

REPRESSED !!
One of the first releases in a series of limited represses on colored vinyl for the 20th anniversary of MATHEMATICS! ANALOGOUS DOOM's classic EP featuring 5 tracks of Detroit and Berlin-fetishizing techno and electro. This one will probably be out of print again very quick!!!

Turning back the clock, before fast forwarding it, comes Giovanni Damico as G-Machine. An audio alumnus of Cosmo Vitelli and Daniele Baldelli comes a new a virtuoso of space boogie. Buckle up, destination: Primo Contatto. Across eight tracks the Italian astronaut traverses the sounds of the cosmos. Warbling reverberations introduce "Flying Objects", with thick bands of synthesizer throbbing in its veins. The ultra slick "Contact" follows. Electrofunk bars float beneath stratospheric synth. Styles co-mingle. Patrick Cowley melts with Afrika Bambaataa. Disco Magic meets Tommy Boy. An overarching groove permeates the album, a heady funk that courses through tracks like "Body on the Ground" and "Transmission". The moon based mirrorball sounds flex and flow, "It's A Shame" cutting floors with sleek vocoders and addictive analogue riches. If you're waiting for re-entry think again, there is no return ticket. G-Machine will only be taking passengers further and further on his cosmic odyssey with tracks like "In My Arms" and "Boogie Down". Buck Rogers in the 25th century breakdowns and rollerskate goodness from needle drop to the run-out.

Let's dance! Tasty disco edits by De Los Miedos, the man behind Ostra Discos from Lisbon.
