Timelines' is the new LP from British house producer Luke Solomon and it will be released via his and Derrick Carter's Classic imprint in May in a package that features the LP, a selection of remixes and a mixed bonus version.
Luke Solomon's influence on house music has been strongly felt for many years. As a DJ and promoter he pioneered mid-week London clubbing with his legendary Space night alongside the late, great Kenny Hawkes. As a producer he has constantly delivered original, often idiosyncratic and always unique house music (and beyond) for an enviable list of imprints. As an A&R he has helped develop many a career (Tiefschwarz, Freeform 5 and Isolee to name but a few) with The Classic Music Company and continues to do so with Classic and his new role as one of Defected's A&R team.

'Timelines is an album that I have been making and remaking over the last 6 years.

I started work on it off of the back of The Difference Engine (Rekids), my last LP under my own name. The idea was to make the album part of a trilogy, this one being representative of my more Balearic roots. The original version that was completed fell on deaf ears quite considerably and it became a bit of a sticking point for me.
I decided to put it to one side and in the process started working on some other music, which in turn, helped me stumble across a new sound and production technique. The initial idea was to work on a series of songs that represented significant points in my life, but lyrically and musically. It then became more relevant to the 6 years of writing and producing the album. A lot of shit happened, and I was able to pour it into finally completing the album. I then decided to keep the album guarded and close as it had become that personal. I didn't want the album to be effected by opinions of those that were too close to me and the music.
What I ended up with is something that has come straight from the heart. Made possible by joining forces with a whole stack of talented musicians and singers over the last 6 years.'

Featuring vocal contributions from Jon Marsh, Natalie Broomes, Terry Grant and Tiger Tiger, as well as musicianship from Arthur Jeffes (various keys), Andy Neil (guitar and bass), Martin Radford (strings), Sammy Bishai (Violins) , Chris Storr (Horns), Steve Parry (Horns), Anu Pilai (Guitar/bass), Tom Bailey (Guitar) and Danny Harrison (Drums), 'Timelines' is so much more than the usual house music album, it's one man deftly controlling and mastering his very own musical chaos.

Here he hooks up with singer Stee Downes, known for his amazing collabs with Lovebirds and MCDE amongst others. Things Of The Past is a mesmerizing deep house track with laid back vox and moody instrumentation. The NYC Club Mix has a great Jersey vibe and makes a great alternate version of this beautiful song. Forever Feel It is built around a great string sample taken from a famous funk and soul album from the 70's (no, not the Dexter Wansel sample used by Andres). On this track the bassline nicely develops along the way and Nicholas cleverly added loose drums, vocal bits and funky stabs making this a smooth floor burner. Now Is The Time is an atmospheric house track suitable for your deeper dj-sets! Highly Recommended!

Following acclaimed excursions on Hypercolour ('Needs You EP') and Will Saul's Aus Music ('Child EP') last year, George FitzGerald
has returned to his Hotflush home for the first time since 2011. Premiering in FitzGerald's debut Radio 1 Essential Mix last month as
part of the '2013's Future Stars' series, 'Thinking Of You' dropped as a Beaport exclusive on 18th March, and is now set for full
physical release complete with the equally compelling 'Nighttide Lover' on the flip.
With over 100k Soundcloud plays prior to release and a fixture in the Beatport top 40 ever since, 'Thinking of You' needs no going-
over. Its b-side counterpart, however, is one of FitzGerald's rawest cuts yet. Immediate and punchy with no less of his emotive
trademark, 'Nighttide Lover' is every bit the sweaty hit to usher in the Ibiza season.
The last twelve months have been extremely busy for FitzGerald as he continues to capture the attention of industry heads and fans
alike with his refined and emotive homegrown club music. Releasing music on his regular home Hotflush, as well as Will Saul's Aus
Music imprint and the acclaimed Hypercolour stable, not to mention his own burgeoning ManMakeMusic imprint, FitzGerald's
flourishing discography continues to grow steadily but impeccably.

Hot on the heels of Jay Shepheard's well received debut album 'Home & Garden,' Retrofit rolls on by welcoming a pair of duos to the label: the Berlin/Hamburg connection known as Session Victim, and a couple of hotly tipped London boys called Casino Times.
First up, Session Victim takes on Jay Shepheard and Matthew Burton's 'Liberal Z' from Retrofit #5. They take full advantage of the original's plucked bassline, and then stack it with their trademark live and swinging percussion. Once a cheerful guitar and warm chords join the mix, they reveal a number that will be ripe for the coming months of summer rooftops and Croatian beachside sunsets.
On the flipside, Casino Times reworks one of the label's most popular tracks, Jay Shepheard and Martin Dawson's B-side killer 'Cut A Hole' from Retrofit #9. Following up stellar appear- ances on UK imprints Wolf Music and Needwant, the pair ride the thick vocoded vox down into a much deeper territory of lush pads and spacey stabs, sure to soundtrack many late nights and early mornings.

Celebrating 4 years in existence, the time has come for us to look back over our catalogue with this deluxe double CD.
Featuring 23 tracks, including four new exclusives and previously hard to find vinyl only releases, Eglo Records Vol.1 will be the label's debut LP and our first time in a CD format. Jus-Ed discovered Henrique Casanova, and was blown away by his distinctly Brazilian mix of house & techno. Some of these tracks have also been released on vinyl, but this is the full album as it was meant to be heard.

A.1.DTB is pure UK Rukkus...a no holes barred underground house track. I'ts 90s UK garage roots are transcended by its overall mixture of everything from Berlin techno to early 90s rave elements that give it a current,very UK feel. A peak time workout no doubt.
A.2.Lo Way is a low slung, minimal ,bass heavy track that as Lo Shea himself says is simply ..'designed for big sound systems in warehouses'...its like a swingin Berlin grind.
B.1.Shapes completes the release with a winding and evolving piece of house music that comes off sounding a little like Akufen. Its euphoric climactic build ends the ep perfectly.

This special release is the first collaboration between Legotek founder Nir Ivenizki and the newest family member Oliver Gehrmann and is dedicated to our real analog music world. Like the name of this record reveals, those 2 tracks were created with the love to Roland, Korg and Nord instruments. Both guys like the power of the synthesizers, the real and warm sounds, the noises of working machines and the little mistakes. This EP is a tribute to their favorite toys and the first coincidence of two talented and open minded artists.
A1 : Fractures :
The first track of this EP fuses a straight beat of old school drummachines with a warm synth chord. A soft acid line slowly occurs and creates huge energy in combination with the interaction of drums and the evolving chord. This is their personal homage to the sound of Detroit, but always with a link to more modern spheres.
A2 : Floating :
The second track takes you on a journey, which is powered by a strong bass driven beat, covered in a laid back symbiosis of dreamy piano chords recorded during a stormy autumn night. it creates a feeling of wellbeing and nervousness at the same time, which leads into a calming down break. This track combines the deepness, the eagerness to experiment and the love to analog sounds at its best.

That Girl, produced by our recent discovery Innershades, opens with a repeated voice sample and a nostalgic pad, just to drop one
minute later into one of the rawest hard hitting house tracks you'll see around in a while.
Hotflush's Locked Groove gives the original track an acidic twist halved with his signature top-class deep house production skills.
As if that isn't enough, the B-side is followed by a simple-yet-effective remix from Ukraine's very own Vakula who provides what
seems a purely energetic techno cut right up to the point when the killer snare comes in.

Suitdancer, according to creator Marcus Harris (of production duo Tone Control) is an attempt to distill the vibe of the "electronic music, inherited soul records and cult VHS films I consumed as a kid".

In this exploration into late night, leftfield territory, Suitdancer carefully collates searing synthesisers, obscure samples and broken drum machines in a heady, yet danceable style. To round off the EP, Mr. Beatnick steps up to provide a Berlin inspired dub for those who like their house music raw.

This debut from Suitdancer is the first of three EP's that accompany mixes and videos that explore a spectrum of influences. Marcus absorbed audio inspiration for this long - gestating project from seminal producers including: Carl Craig, James Stinson, King Tubby, Giorgio Moroder, Conny Plank and Nile Rogers. Contemporaries of the Suitdancer sound include John Talabot, Luke Abbott, Gold Panda and Pye Audio Corner.

Marcus Harris, is one half of Tone Control, who have been progressively releasing their own brand of electronic soul for over 8 years, appealing to house music and leftfield DJ's alike. Following the release of their critically acclaimed "Illusion" single, much lauded by Theo Parrish and Kerri Chandler, the duo went on to find wider appeal with their smash "Take Me Away" ft. Adeola Ranson, and subsequent singles "Without Your Love" ft. James B. Coleman and "Starting with Me" with Robert Owens.

Noir brings us back the 90s with a new EP from Supernova - just
timeless house music.

Third release on the Black Ops sub label the SLEAZYBEATS crew...
After taking care of the inaugural release for the label in 2012, talented Mr. La Desh makes a welcome return to the Black Ops fold with his 'Rebound Round EP', the third emission of this fledgling Sleazy Beats offshoot.
Over the past years the elusive Dutch producer has been crafting a real sound of his own, fusing ambient soundscapes, elements of disco and ethnic grooves, wrapped in a blanket of warm drums, swirly pads and moody synth lines to great effect, as aptly demonstrated on this new twelve.
The A side is reserved for 'In The Back', a hypnotic excursion through dusty beatdown basement house grooves with crisp drums and an ever so slight hiphop sway. Ben La Desh keeps building on those sleazy wobbly grooves, subtly layering new elements and melody lines that all come together in a blissful finale. On the flip, BLD pays hommage to his African roots (he was born and raised in Benin).
Escape Route offers up earthy and emotive rhythms backed with African chanting and timbale percussion. A lovely deep cut that wouldn't seem out of place on a haunting movie score, yet has enough drive and oomph to also do serious damage on discerning dancefloors.
Rounding out the release is Bohicon Bossa, a track that gently blends favela flavors with a killer midtempo groove and mad amounts of bottom end, complete with peaks and valleys of winding muted trumpet snips accosting a humming bassline and male vocal.
The Rebound Round EP is a showcase of a producer on top of his game and comfortable with exploring and incorporating new sounds and influences into his music, making this another timeless outing from the elusive Dutch producer.

The new album marks something of a new direction for
Cosmin, however - it's a much more intricate affair that deals
in plenty of fuzzy texture, percussive energy and his
trademark skimming bottom ends, but looks outside the
techno world for its influences. "Gordian is as much a
document of my past year as it is the beginning of a
conversation. The title references an ancient myth, but
describes the very contemporary, impossible task of
discerning between real and replicated, authentic and
contrived. Coping with facts, objects and bodies, the
necessity of 'making it', fear of failure, fear of 'not being
happy' are today's topics, and Gordian is my attempt at an
exploration of those issues."
Starting with the deep, alien laced ambience of 'New
Structures For Living' its clear from the off Cosmin's
production has continued to improve and evolve since
Simulat. Abstract yet heartfelt, it's followed by the more
implosive snare rattles and crossing synth lines of the title
track 'Gordian' that sounds like a factory gone feral.
Opposing light with dark, density with space, tracks like
'Desire is Sovereign' manages to be both propulsive and
cerebral. One thing that ties the album to Cosmin's nuanced
back catalogue is the gauziness of tracks like 'Divided By
Design' where the distant hum of radio frequencies turn your thoughts
to Cold War era transmissions lost in blizzards of
snow.
Though the heads down surges of tracks like 'Semi Present'
sure will work on the floor, there's an underlying narrative that
makes this album as suitable for listening on headphones.
Non-standard melodies, otherworldly blips and a ruined
intergalactic energy seem to course throughout, truly transporting you
to another world entirely.

Next up on Local Talk we got a raw peak hour jam from Liverpool producer Dale Howard (Lost My Dog, Large, Morris/Audio, Off Rec).
There is nothing light or fluffy about these tracks, its just dirty straight up house music with a dark 90s basement feel.
For the main track we actually chose the dub version of Throwback over of the original mix. We just thought this version was soooo freakin' raw even though its more stripped than the original version.
You'll see what we mean when you drop it in the club!
The second track In Out goes along the same house theories as Throwback with jackin' beats and deep chords that will do wonders in any authentic house basement.
All in all, a might fine release of classic Local Talk house music. Enjoy :)

Finally out on Dj Kaos imprint Jolly jams 'TIAGO' Soul Jam, Motor Jam + Bonus track Lost and Found Jam An absolute floor slammer and has a crazy techno style! 'Hailing from Lisbon in Portugal where he is a weekly resident at Club Lux, Tiago has a laid back intensity that is reflected in the expansive and inquisitive nature of his sets. Raised on good music in his home, turned on to drumming by his older brother, he came to Dj'ing via live music. He has been at it for close to twenty years, and in the last decade added production work to his resume. Check his production and remix work on labels like DFA, ESP Institute, Golf Channel, Leng, etc. He his involved in a great variety of projects and working distinguish formats such as techno, house, chill out, dub, leftfield rock and disco.'

Following the success of last year's first two editions, Don't Be Afraid return for Record Store Day 2013 with a third and fourth 12' combination of Spargel Trax releases, celebrating the dual themes of great seasonal music and great seasonal Spargel. The contribution of tracks from certain bona fide legends, who appear under the now familiar spargel-related pseudonyms as well as some incredibly talented new comers, meant that it was impossible to pass up the chance of working on a third and fourth volume. Both releases are limited to 280 hand numbered copies, and come on coloured vinyl with a recipe insert.
Spargel is very popular in the Netherlands, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland, and almost exclusively white — else, it is specified by the local language term for green asparagus. Compared to the latter, the locally cultivated so-called white gold or edible ivory, also referred to as the royal vegetable, is less bitter and much more tender.

Two decades on from the birth of garage in the UK, its resurrection is afoot on the global electronic music horizon. TRAXX 'The House That Garage Built' captures the original sounds of New York and New Jersey house and maps their evolution through to the UK interpretations of today across this carefully crafted compilation.
