A staple album since its release in 1998, 'Heavenly' is as relevant today as it was twenty years ago. It turned heads everywhere, got the underground scene buzzing and set dance floors ablaze like an accomplished pyromaniac. Now, the album is back for another round of Techno-flavored goodness.
Revisited, tweaked and rearranged by Kevin Saunderson under his E-Dancer moniker, the album not only comes with additional material in addition to the 1998 originals, but is also poised to fuel a number of exclusive E-Dancer live shows. A collection of songs sure to keep the dance floor ablaze for decades, 'Heavenly' (Revisited) is set to make history once more.

Did you know Voguing, which gained mainstream exposure through Malcolm McLaren or Madonna, owes a little of its fortune to France : since the late eighties, this underground movement born in the Harlem ballroom scene fascinated the very first missionaries of house music à la française, whether they'd be DJs, journalists or promoters. Around the world, most of the wonderful Queens of Vogue had a break through with their performances in music videos on MTV, but nowhere else other than in Paris did we take this New-York gay and multicultural counter-culture so seriously. It didn't caught the attention of young producers nor rub off on the pavement of any other city. Therefore, it is without surprise that with their upcoming album « House of Melancholy », Acid Washed, a duo that arose from the second wave of French house, are bringing back a concentrate of everything that house music encloses (we will never say it enough) of polictical, social, utopian, and subversive matters.
Because it's in the legendary club culture, with its heroes and its secret stories, that Andrew Claristidge and Richard d'Alpert found the clay, the ideas and the outline of pretty much everything that they wanted to inject into Acid Washed. Two house music and techno lovers swaying between nocturnal experiences and encyclopedias, both musicians picked up the house nation as an haven, a home to live in, a place to learn and exchange. One grew up next to the cradle of French techno (Grenoble), the other was trained on classical music, new-wave and punk : Andrew and Richard did indeed cross paths around a substrate named Daft Punk, but above all and later on, around the sprawling club culture which came to life at the same moment in Chicago, Detroit and Manchester, and gave birth to the duo. Considered as a return to the origins of house and techno music after the euphoric unpacking of a big bangish first album, « House of Melancholy » however proposes a synthetic cocktail, highly indiosyncratic : a return to the origins of their own house and their own techno. In this way, the ones who would only see Acid Washed as a pair of skillful technicians of vintage synths and references are in for a surprise. We won't dance nor dream to the songs of « House of Melancholy » like to any other album, always higher and louder, and a little bit stronger too.

Tablon is a new France based independent record label. Supporting artists with a characteristic style, tablon releases music by passion, developing its own vision of today's and tomorrow's dance music.
After a first EP by Arnaud linked in a certain way to Greece, tablon 002 will come from Istanbul. Far from us the idea to make a worldwide music label or refer to any old war between two countries. It just happened like that. Sarp makes amazing music and we are proud to present his new EP. It is called "I care because you don't", the artwork is made by Nefelie and the mastering by Mathieu Berthet in Paris. As we care a lot about the vinyl thing, our releases appear first on 12" and then in digital.
"Hi, I am Sarp Yilmaz. No, not your household name, not the next megaDj, not the chart topper, just a guy with some machines and a passion in his heart, who is supported by some other guy who runs this young, fresh label, who is mad enough to release music that is not bassline obsessed, not fitting any of the genre slots of your favorite online store, that is as much hip hop and jazz as it's house. No, this will not destroy your dancefloor, nor will it make you dance like there's tomorrow, it's moody, sometimes even depressive, but I made it with a smile on my face. It's trippy, it's glitchy and it's slow. Music, I make to cure the sicknesses of my heart. Hope it puts a smile on your face too. I care because you don't".

Something Happening Somewhere and Mary Go Wild combine their forces for a very special record, containing two cuts by Presk and remixes by Locked Groove and label honcho Nuno dos Santos. The original A1 side has already been released on SoHaSo last summer on their SOMEWHERE compilation, but has now found a place on delicious black gold and is further enriched with a fresh B-side and aforementioned remixers delivering quality reworks.
2BXPRZD is an ode to the celebration of night life and the diverse spectrum of people that move within it. The club has always been a place where people from every background, religion and gender imaginable can meet and express their being through Dancing. It doesn't matter in what way you move, only that it's authentic and respecting towards the fellow dancers around you. Presk provides all the necessary ingredients: the funkiness in the drums melting with the dark and sinister bassline and pitched vocal perfectly assemble the conditions for such an interaction to take place.
Locked Groove takes this celebratory dance and turns it into an even darker and hypnotizing affair. Stripping the original to its bare essence with a pounding kickdrum to lead the way. Pulsing atmospheres and emotive pads swirl around and behind, granulated in a way that they almost fall apart. This is further reinforced by the stream of voices that are processed to sound like a field recording from beyond the iron curtain in Soviet times, anticipating the unavoidable collapse that follows.
The B sides provides a little more uplifting environment with Starets, unsettling melodies and dissonant atmospheres propel forward before restraining the whole thing and letting broken chord stabs seep through the system. Again reworking the original material into a more skeletal structure, Nuno dos Santos adds a poignant arp melody that is typical for his melancholic style. Driving yet breathing with emotion, it's the perfect accompaniment for a night drive while floating through clear skies. This records proves a delightful combination, containing something imperative for every soul feeling the need to express themselves in a unique way.

Systematic Recordings Lost Treasures series has been a revelation since label boss Marc Romboy took the inspired decision to looks at licensing some of the most precious and memorable moments from his musical youth. Not only has he released the remastered versions on Ltd 10" vinyl, he has also backed the singles with exciting remixes, where the choice of producer and the mixes themselves show a deep respect for the original record. 001 saw UK producer Jimpster join Romboy in reworking Terrence Parker's Love's Got Me High and in December of last year F.E.X. and Melon shone on 002 as they turned their talents to Mike Dunn, Victor Simonelli & Luis Radio's 1997 smash, Nothing Stays The Same. Today Marc paints the original with his acid-tipped brush as his Devilfish remix takes us on an bubbling oldskool journey. We are also treated to a remastered version of Victor Simonelli's Lost-In-The-Groove-Mix from 1997 and the brand new Super Dub from F.E.X.

IvanLatyshev is a record producer and DJ with more than 10-years experience, having grown up in Russia's cultural epicentre of St Petersburg. Developing a love for deep house, the young producer has been releasing his perfectly-realised club tunes on labels such as Toolroom, and now provides us with a second outing on Dessous Recordings. The Art of Flying EP presents two original tracks and a pair of remixes of the lead cut. The original 'Art of Flying' is quite a statement - a jazzy, swingy beat introduces the track, before solidifying around punchy 4 / 4 groove. Restless synths drift in and out resulting in a track that is both exceptionally funky and deeply wonky - topped off with a killer spoken word vocal. The ever-dependable Eddie Fowlkes steps up on remix duties and supplies a more jacking interpretation, adding a filthy bassline on his Fly Mix. The same track also gets a 'Crazy Dub' rework which expands the space within the track and strips it down for maximum club effect.

Basic Soul Unit returns with another deadly EP on Dolly, further investigating the thin dividing line between techno and broken beats. A-side "Wallow" is a menacing big room stormer with a delicate pad breakdown, with Voiski providing an alternate more driving techno version of it with a splendid melodic twist midway through the track. "Radiate" and "Joyride" on the B both have BSU's signature rhythmic ideas and fresh energy with "Radiate" even going full-on Broken Rave! "Joyride" is that upbeat funky techno nugget that's going to sit in your DJ bag forever.

"I want them to hate me for putting this out" says Jackmaster Hater, referring to tracks once possessed by a mere handful of Chicago House DJs. These recordings, traded secretly on tape, were exclusive to the likes of Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles.
Here is the new compilation by Jerome Derradji with Kevin Starke, aka the infamous Jackmaster Hater and owner of Kstarke Records in Chicago. It is one of the sickest slice of Chicago House Music ever released.
This compilation features ultra rare and lost Chicago classics paired with a nice selection of newer tracks produced by Jackmaster Hater and his friends, all nicely laid out on a DCD and 2 DLPs. The DLPs come with a killer poster and the DCD features a booklet about Kstarke records and Kevin Starke and a few more surprises.
It includes rare tracks by Ron Hardy, James "Jack Rabbit" Martin, Terrence Woodard, Traxmen and many more.
This is the real sound of Chicago.

After seven years and 11 releases on labels like Slices of Life and Daniel Bell's Elevate outpost, Berlin producer Baaz is ready to reveal his first full-length effort. His 10-track LP, Red Souvenirs, is set to drop on 24th of November via the beatmaker's own Office Recordings, which makes it the fourth release from the imprint after a record from Christopher Rau and two EPs from Baaz himself.
There's no overarching concept behind the album, nor any grandiose statements or artistic messages. Rather, Red Souvenirs captures flashes of Baaz's moods and translates them into vibes that are communicated via hypnotic grooves, crisp beats, and astral synths. The tracks, which he made between 2010 and 2014, span the genres that have attracted Baaz the most over the years, from snappy house beats to narcotic dub techno and psychedelic hip-hop. Album opener 'Everyone' is a mostly ambient tune peppered with glittering synth pricks, gentle rhythmic tick-tocks, and extended synth pads, while tracks like 'Endori' and 'Closed' are snappy deep house workouts with quiet, screwed-down vocal samples. 'Spacehub' and 'Pressyn,' on the other hand, explore languid hip-hop instrumentals embellished with zaps and long, gliding chords that hold for minutes on end. But no matter what form his productions take, Baaz's emphasis on enveloping rhythms, bubbling melodies, and relaxed atmospherics remains.

ItaloJohnson's first release in 2012 breaks the standards of the classic 12- inch model with two tracks representing a double A-side on a 10-inch vinyl. This is the first release that's branded with the ItalioJohnson logo so grab it while it's hot because stickered copies are limited to 500 vinyl.
The stamped side blows you away with a solid bassline powerful enough to light your ass on fire. Unique FX-sounds, an explicit arrangement and sharp drumming pull the track together.
The flip side provides you with proper house music as the vigorous, repetitive vocal-stabs, a Hells Bells Bass and the fearless 707 drums flow into ItaloJohnson's trademark sound.

On Colonial Patterns, Brian Leeds (Huerco S) treats his Kansas City region as a universe worthy of its own electronic music. To that end, Leeds deconstructs Midwestern techno and house tropes. The pieces are corrugated, rough, and decompositional. Working cheaply, Leeds conscientiously uses low-end software, synths and cassettes so as to subvert the gloss of so much urban dance music, giving tracks an impressionistic, emotive feel.
Colonial Patterns shares Jon Hassell's hybridized experiments in percussive ambience, as well as William Basinski's strobing melancholia. When tracks subtly veer into house/techno territories, they mirror the no frills dance mechanics of Midwest figureheads Ron Hardy, Omar S and Theo Parrish.
Most exemplary of this sonic architecture are "Struck With Deer Lungs" and "Angel (Phase)." Both layer subtle rhythmic pulses with broader strokes of deep sustain, creating a pair of intro/outro signals that shape the album's whole sequence and function as main supports to the album's busier core. Bass heavy, Detroit techno leaning "'linzhiid" and "Quiviria" deliver foreboding standouts with snappy economy.
Stripped of pop devices, discarding utopian delusions, Colonial Patterns is electronic music for the open prairie. Inherently inhabitable, yet strangely dispeopled, it's a fitting universe for this otherworldly debut.

Next up Creme Organization is a return by regular artist Lake Haze. Following his Natural Insight EP earlier in the year comes Intergalactic Communicationz, four more fresh tracks of acid, techno and electro that is brilliantly evocative. The Portuguese artist known as Goncalo Salgado also please son labels like Unknown to the Unknown and is a real hardware master. At The Gates ov Futron is a turbulent lack track with zipping acid and a cacophony of percussion that is visceral as well as cinematic. Drexciyan Aquarium is, as the name suggest, an aqueous electro track that slithers and slides through an expansive underwater world. Poseidon's Dream then offers a more rugged electro groove that is backed by heavenly pads and a real sense of loss in the synths. Last of all, Intergalactic Communication closes out this far travelling and intergalactic EP with a sci-fi deep house track that is filled with light, 909s and a sense that the end of the world is coming.

A year after their impressive last album Burn It Down, Detroit techno legends Octave One are back with a nine track double EP that again shows they are masters of big hypnotic grooves.
Entitled Love by Machine, the album's name is a nod to the fact that the Burden brothers are such revered masters of their hardware. Both in the studio, where they cook up atmospheric house and techno with soaring synths and vocals and also in the live arena, where they are celebrated as one of the most accomplished and forward thinking performers in the game today. That is all the more impressive when you bear in mind they have been active since the '80s, most often releasing on their own 430 West label, which is where they appear again here.
Say Lenny: We've been exploring the theme of connection with this project. How technology gives us the illusion that we are closer to each other more than ever. At some point humanity crossed a line where the devices that we created to bring us together are the same devices that are blocking us from organic experiences.'
Technology is only a tool, which we also had in mind during the recording process.' Adds Lawrence. We decided to go back to how we used to make our records, when we didn't have so many 'sophisticated' audio devices. Back to when we interacted in the studio together as musicians.'
Things open up with the loose metallic percussive line that is In Mono, which sets the machine made tone and is filled with promise. Locator then immediately gets to action with a gallivanting techno kick and various synth lines wrapping round each other as you get sucked into the groove. Just Don't Speak (Midnight Sun Redub) is a more deep and house leaning track with big feel good piano keys and slithering synths that will get hands in the air. Proving they have real range, 7 B4 Dawn is a moody and reserved cut with subtle acid pricks, hip swinging claps and a spaced out dead of night feel.
The second half of the album offers peak time business in the form of the spectacular Bad Love II, the whirring and cosmic Sounds of Jericho and the big loops and fluid grooves of (Where) Time Collides. Pain Pressure is a wonky number with big bassline and a focus on percussive patterns as well as some vocals with real attitude and last cut 8 B4 Dawn ends things in a downbeat and sombre way with sad chords and emotive strings. It is pure Detroit, much like the whole album, and rounds out another fine release from these most revered veterans.

New Andres 12'' debut on his own label La Vida. Andres is one that really needs no introduction, but for those unfamiliar here it is: Andres, aka DJ Dez, is one of Detroit's unsung heros of underground music. Since the late 90's Andres has built up an extremely respectable catalog of that blurs the boundaries between genres, most notably his records on KDJ and Mahogani Music. Not to forget, DJ Dez is also Slum Village's DJ, has recorded many hip hop instrumental on Hipnotech Records, and his hand is on countless other Detroit records. Definitely one of the most consistent producers we've got here whose music can be summed up in one word: Quality!

Californiabased producer Damon Bell could not find a more suitable home for his new 12' than Croatian label Burek. It's his first one since Blues For The Libyan' LP released in 2015. for Deepblak, and it sounds as if the time off was well spent. Two words that perfectly describe this record are rich' and colourful', and the description is equally applicable to all three cuts. Stand By Me' is a synthheavy piece built around the interplay between track's rougher sounds and big lush pads. On the flipside, Life' is slightly faster and more direct, with a wonderful guitar part that circles around the main theme throughout the most of the track. Similarly mannered, but slightly more intense TransAtlantic Journey We Been Here!' is the last piece and features an infectious groove with lead synth piercing through layers of delicate arpeggios playing in the background. All in all, it feels good to have Damon in the team. We hope you'll enjoy this record

Following on from Anetha's 'Ophiuchus' EP last year, Work Them Records founder Spencer Parker has compiled a remix package featuring himself and French techno stalwart Antigone.
A key component in the thriving Parisian techno scene, Anetha is a resident at monthly party series BLOCAUS.
Spencer reworks 'Drive With A Dead Girl', incorporating punchy kicks and shuffling hats before the original's
mesmerising arpeggios come into effect.
On the other hand Antigone distorts 'Black Widow' beyond recognition by blending fuzzy atmospherics with a cavernous
808 and glitchy hook.
Concluding the release is a bonus track from Anetha herself titled 'Traces To Nowhere' with its gloomy pads and squelchy melodies. DJ Support:

Appearing on a host of underground labels since 2014, Nathan is set to make a breakthrough with Star Dust' Balancing on the edge of reality and pushing further into the abstract and surreal worlds Star Dust unfolds through waving synths and dubby bass lines. $$$ is a darker track, the bassline punchier and driving acid-tinged synths create a dance-floor ready record. Next up Human Music has a more minimal introduction, building in intensity as the synths come through until finally the melody drops, maintaining the dreamy top line that Nathan is so adept at maintaining. Neville Watson provides the first remix on the EP, he adds reverb to the vocal, amplifying its effect on the track. Star Dust is intensified, perfect for late night, or early morning, dance floors. Addesse Versions remix of Star Dust is a twisted acid remake, a left-field and off kilter beat is slowed down to a psychedelic swirl, pulsating throughout the track.

Another recent masterpiece from the rising Barcelona label 'Modern Obscure Music'. This time the label is introducing a 12'' with two long lasting analogue Jams made from synthesizers like Moog Voyager and the mythical Juno 80 on abstract rhythms created with a powerful Roland 909. This is an essential record for collectors of relics focused on the Club. To the mysterious, exotic and even tribal vibe, the record label adds a remix by Daniel Martin-McCormick, best known as Ital, who has recently published his 3rd album
with Mike Paradinas (Planet Mu) apart from also presenting some pieces from his own record company Lover's Rock or in the prestigious Workshop house. Remixes by JMII and Pettre, Aster's ex-band components, are also added in the digital version of it.

Following his bomb 'Booty Jazz' EP released under the Jupiter Jazz moniker alongside label boss Maceo Plex, Miami's finest Danny Daze goes solo to release 'The Calm' - two original cuts of deep dark house with a stellar remix from Dutch producer Dexter.
Title track 'The Calm' opens with a deep pulsating heart, beating and building as sweeping waves of trippy FX roll in and out with doubled up and slightly deranged vocals dominating the atmosphere. Swelling steadily with powerful synth lines and rhythm the track drops dramatically, kicking into a tight rolling groove that rides through the depth and layers.
Picking up the pace class-A producer and remixer Dexter takes the reins to spin his techno twist onto 'The Calm'. Making music since the mid 90s and with huge releases on the likes on Rush Hour and Clone, the Dutchman is a welcome addition to the Ellum Audio catalogue. Thriving with drive and energy his remix is an essential DJ weapon for any peak time affair.Rounding off the package 'I See You There' is the second original track on offer from Mr. Daze. Continuing in the same vein as 'The Calm' the track builds moodily with epic synths, industrial stabs and haunting vocals. Taking a turn it drops into a powerful dance floor bomb with deep, warm keys that beautifully carry the melody.
Already flying high in the game and with a hectic tour schedule lined up and a Radio 1 Essential Mix in the pipeline for this summer. 2013 looks set to be a big one for wonder boy Danny Daze.

A Sagittariun continues to release primarily on his own Elastic Dreams label, and 'The Magick Box' EP features four tracks that come nearly 12 months on from the uncompromising techno of the 'Contortion'/'Concrete Walls' single and the second full length album odyssey, 'Elasticity'. Taking in pacey techno cuts 'Curviture' and 'Kobalt', cruising electro vibes on 'Floating On Salt Water' and wigged out industrial funk on 'Bleepanomix', once again 'The Archer' delivers a varied collection of new tracks on the EP. Vital Sales Points: - Previous singles on Secretsundaze, Hypercolour and Elastic Dreams were very well received - A Sagittariun's second album, 'Elasticity', was released in April 2016 to glowing reviews and polled in the Mojo Magazine Top 5 Electronic Albums Of The Year

Here we present Good Vibrations, the debut EP on Local Talk from Canadian producer Orazio Fantini.
The best thing with this EP is that it's simply straight up house music that is both deep yet raw and funky all at the same time.
Basically, its very Local Talk ;)
First track 'To The Ball' starts off with a bubbling bass line, followed with shuffling hi-hats and swinging beat that's glued together by glistering synth stabs, infectious to say the least. Turn the record over for 'Feel it' which showcases Fantini's clever use of vocal samples blended together with the perfect swing and last not but not least, 'On Hold' is a stripped track but with all the necessary elements to make the feet move.

Asymmetrical code is the evolution of what is known as techno today. The "Code" or song, takes you on a journey to the future of the past where you can find an alternate "you" through contemporary realities and soundwaves.
Starting in 2013 as an underground label with no public releases, the main goal of Fragmento & Tracy (Owners) was to find and collect the perfect sound, ambients, and grooves to carry you to the musical meaning of Asymmetrical Code. On this journey the listener is also accompanied by visual stimulants created by the Label, to influence or facilitate the mind to wander and build a new creativity within you.
In this opportunity we have the pleasure to introduce in the A.C.R.002.V. artists such as ENDLEC - Fragmento - Ryuji Takeuchi - Tracy&MTD.
Stay tuned for the A.C.r. 003 .V.

Aus Music bring a summer of firsts to a close as they follow up records from the newly collared Recloose, Trevino and Paul Woolford with another new addition to the team: Tom Trago. The Rush Hour regular joins the ranks with 'Being Broke' - a bright and groovy four-track aimed straight at the dance floor of this season's closing festivals. The A side offers up an original and dub version of the title track - a bumping House groove built with playful vocal samples and nifty synth lines. On the flip are two version of 'Good Lies' - the first rolling out over its elongated duration with sharp, galloping hats and free-flowing Rhodes notes. Tension begins to develop as the track steadily snowballs gathering vocal snips and a menacing bass line while the 'Good Christian Edit' offers up a lighter, more early-doors affair bringing a nicely rounded package to a close.

After making a sunny debut on Aus back in May 2016 - Brooklyn based luminary Recloose readies his second 12 for the label and in doing so enlists the help of Mara TK of Electric Wire Hustle, Ezrakh and Son of Sound of House 2 House and Strictly Rhythm fame. His 'Spirit Knows' EP adds to a catalogue of more than 20 years - one that's touched the likes of Planet E, Rush Hour and Peacefrog and in a similar vein to 'Honey Rocks' - his latest offering comprises 3 eloquent cuts of House Music and carries with it a balmy sense of soul that fans both old and new will relish.

A Dj. since 93. A producer since 98. A true student of the music/culture. Amir founded Vanguard Sound in February 2006. After making his presence felt in the Chicago club scene via a meteoric rise culminating a Dj watch feature in Chicago's 5 magazine, he completely disappeared and went beneath the underground to focus solely on advancing his production skills.
Soon after linking up with G. Marcell and Hakim Murphy he began to release gritty tracks that have been charted and played by underground Dj's world wide. His fourth release was the sleeper classic 'Experience ep' a 4 tracker with Amir on side a, and G. Marcell on side b.
Encouraged by the feedback, Amir then submitted tracks to New York city's Plan B Recordings. The rest is history as they say.......
Recording under the name Amir Alexander and the pseudonym Guerrilla Soul! this cat strives to bring a raw and gritty modern spin on classic Detroit, Chicago, and New York underground sounds.

PRESS
Andrew Ryce (Resident Advisor)
"Dazed And Amazed" leaves me pretty Dazed & Amazed... HAR HAR HAR. Love the shuffling
garage percussion, wobbly basslines, vocal samples.. what a dreamy tune. "Everybody's
Beautiful" is the same deal, though a bit more straightforward -- but the bassline, subtly bumping
underneath the drifting beats, and those synths.. I'm melting! Acid Mix is good too, adds a little
bit of oomph but doesn't stomp all over what made the original mix so pleasant. Stellar EP.
Joshua P. Ferguson (Time Out Chicago)
Chicago love! I dug Alexander's release with Argot, and this is just further evidence that he's a
Windy City voice we should be hearing a lot more of.

A heavy, heavy remix package here from Hypercolour. Step forward Bonobo, Kowton and Dark Sky, who all contribute stellar remixes of Maya Jane Coles' 'Don't Put Me In Your Box' EP, originally out in 2011. Bristol's Joe Cowton AKA Kowton plucks for 'Parallel Worlds' from Maya's EP to get the once over, opting for a dancefloor-centric re-work. Stripping things right back with big, distorted drums and strobe like percs, the Idle Hands and Livity Sound man affords us with a real sweat soaked warehouse banger of a remix. Dark Sky have been firing on all cylinders of late, releases on Tectonic and 50 Weapons, collaborations with Breach... and their remix of 'Something In The Air is underpinned with a rattling 4/4 groove and big subby sweeps, retaining the original's melodic touches. Bonobo seals a huge period of activity, including a rack of acclaimed albums for Ninja Tune, with an ethereal and sublime take on 'Something In The Air'. The remix cinematically sweeps over you, its rising melodies and tight percussions making this a standout job from Bonobo and a fine closing to a big remix package!

Following its initial release in 2013 and its round of high-profile advert placements, FCL 'It's You' is proving to be one of those tracks that just keep coming back better. Featuring remixes by the likes of Mousse T., Hercules & Love Affair and Nick Holder, this Defected remix package is sure to send 'It's You' down the road to becoming a classic.
With a wall-scratching kick and rattling shakers, first on the list is Mousse T.'s Teef Vocal Mix, which moves with its minimal bass line and striking piano melody. Next up, Mousse T.'s Discotronic Mix drops the disco ball by introducing a groovy bass guitar riff and uplifting synth stabs. Nick Holder's Trackheadz Mix sets the irrepressible vocal over a rolling, sub-heavy house groove, with eerie chords and orchestral strings exquisitely playing off one another as the track progresses. Finally, Hercules & Love Affair Remix creates an intricate rhythm medley using pitched high hats and vanishing synth breaks against a futuristic guitar lick and cosmic arpeggios. With such a diverse and well-crafted selection of remixes, each track preserves the irresistible draw of the original while steering into its own unique sonic direction.

Driving forward from the announcement of their forthcoming 'PolyRhythmic' LP on Sasha's Last Night On Earth imprint, Kate Simko and Tevo Howard are known for creating out of the box and genre-bending productions. Now, the native Chicagoans proudly announce their 'Theme Track EP,' giving music lovers a taste of things to come from the album.
Both Kate and Tevo grew up on house music and their collaboration stays true to their roots whilst bringing a contemporary twist. Their signature classic sound shines brightly through each production. The opening track 'PolyRhythmic Theme' does exactly that. A groove-ridden bass line, coupled with a driving electro synth, mingles with recordings of people on the street near Tevo's studio in Chicago.
Tevo's classic Roland programming and Kate's melodic synth melodies are ever present throughout the EP, highlighted perfectly in 'No Regrets'. Featuring vocalist Baz from Pirupa, the track's keep-it-real lyrics and hypnotic harmonies bring a new dimension to the PolyRhythmic project. Inspired by the iconic Chicago imprint Prescription Records, 'No Regrets' is a standout track from the forthcoming album.
Closing the EP in the spirit of PolyRhythmic, renowned New York producer Fred P (aka Black Jazz Consortium) delivers a masterful remix of 'PolyRhythmic Theme'. Fred, a former roommate of Tevo's in Berlin, has established himself as one of the most respected players in house music. Taking his time on this remix, he's delivered an artful dance floor jam already earning incredibly enthusiastic DJ feedback. An eight-minute journey, the rework of 'PolyRhythmic Theme' takes the listener from sparse 808 grooves to powerful high rising synth peaks fluttering throughout the track.
Kate and Tevo form a natural alliance, which captures their versatility as artists. Combining their mutual passions for music and homage to their Chicago roots, 'Theme Track' once again reiterates that the duo are strongly at the forefront of a fresh wave of innovative and dynamic producers. This release marks another chapter in the eclectic collaboration of Kate Simko and Tevo Howard, moving us closer to their eagerly anticipated album out this September on Last Night On Earth.

After more then a year, Italian label Kosmophono is back with their second chapter on vinyl. The tasty release features a selection of great artists and seductive sounds and gives you a taster of the many other great projects lined up on this label for this year.
For the A-side, Fuse London resident Antony Difrancesco joins forces with Dutch born Ferro and opens up with the aggressive and hypnotic "Des", with its tough drums and mesmerising pads. Next up is ''tINI and the Gang" regular, Crocodile Soup, who brings his deeper side into action on ''These Shoes Are Made For Walking'', a track that is elastic and seductive and expertly arranged. David Gtronic's signature drums and trippy pads then mark a stunning opening to the B-side on 'Down the Burrow' and last but not least, He Did closes the vinyl with "Algunas Palabras', a track with a mixture of minimalistic and natural sounds that make for compelling listening and perfectly showcase the He Did sound. This is a classy EP from a label that the world needs to get behind as they continue to grow.

After emerging from years of seclusion below the Chicago underground last year, Marquis Cooper aka Svengalisghost, returns with all new material recorded this winter somewhere between the woods of North Carolina and the streets of NYC. An advocate in creating what he calls the "Anti-Beat", Cooper takes what he's learned from the traditional machine experimentation of the early pioneers, reconstructs and retransmits the sounds which lie somewhere in the realm of unhinged synth punk or industrial forward-thinking beat electronics. These tracks are truly the essence of HOUSE, and a vicious circle it is.

Essential reissue!! The producer and dj from Chicago Joey Kay published in 1994 an EP that soon became a favorite of the 90s house DJs around the world: 'Eclectiz Ep'. The legendary label House Jam Records was responsible for editing and selling it. Nowadays, in 2016 (22 years later) the owners of the label Bons Records have been in contact with Joey Kay and they have been quick to reach an agreement to make a remastered edition of the great Eclectiz Ep including the same tracks that the original version but at an affordable price to everyone, not favoring the speculation around these kind of musical gems, mostly in platforms like Discogs. 'Eclectiz Ep' has been remastered by Robert Feuchtl (Fat Of Excellence) and will be distributed by Subwax.

- A1: Fresh - Dum Dum Part Two (Original 12 Inch Version - Remastered)
- A2: Rude Boy Himself Farley Farley - Give Your Self To Me (Original 12 Inch Version - Remastered)
- B1: Willie Wonka - What Is House_ (Original 12 Inch Version - Remastered)
- B2: Radio Fashion - What You Deserve (Original 12 Inch Version - Remastered)
Volume 2 in Trax new re issue series "Chicago Trax", delves deeper into the archives to unearth more 'lost tracks' from the legendary Chicago house label.
Kicking off with "Dum Dum - Part 2" by Fresh (TX115 - 1986), following on from Part 1 which came out on Larry Sherman's Precision (named after his pressing plant) in 1984, and included a prototype version of what would become "Real Love" by Jesse's Gang. Its follow up, Part Two, produced by Jesse Saunders was just as basic consisting of bass, drums and the occasional squelch or stab.
Next up... Yes its him again - Farley Jackmaster Funk with "Give Your Self To Me" (TX116 - 1986). Featuring uncredited vocal performances from both Ricky Dillard and Kevin Irving, this is almost symphonic in comparison with some of Farley's previous foray's into the studio, possibly aided by the fact he utilised a producer, Danny Wilson, to finesse his efforts.
On the B side we start with Willie Wonka's "What Is House (TX122 - 1986). Dwayne Grant's name seems to have slipped off the radar, but this wasn't even his first release, having already recorded under the name Grant for Sherman's Precision the year prior to this. Unusually for some, "What Is House" is Linn drum-heavy and from memory, I believe this vocal comes from the producer reading an early piece written about Chicago house. Yet another underrated tune from the vaults.
Finally we have Radio Fashion "What You Deserve" (TX123 - 1987). An anomaly in the Trax catalogue, Radio Fashion would seem more at home an obscure Belgian label or even on Wax Trax! Although they did contribute to other house releases (like "The Jackin' National Anthem" on Hot Mix 5), vocalist Jim Romano turned up on a Die Warzau album in the early 90's doing background vocals.

The next chapter in the Creme Organization Ecplise series comes from Cosmic Garden with three original tracks and one remix from Orgue Electronique. Little is known about Cosmic Garden other than he is from Southern Italy and has had two EPs out in 2016, one on HotMix and one on Cosmic Rhythm. He heads out the blocks here with 'Reptilian Treant', six minutes of lo-fi deep house that is roomy and atmospheric. Lazy synths bring soul and a gentle chatter of claps and hits helps drive it along. 'Rare Centaur' is also way below the surface but is darker and more celestial, with turbulent bass, frantic claps and angelic chords glowing like a white light at the end of a tunnel. Dutch house and electro don Orgue Electronique then remixes 'Reptilian Treant' into something that is slick and serene, with metallic lines dancing above rubbery drums as big piano chords boucle up top. It is joyous and colourful and truly majestic before final track 'Apocalyptic Moose' takes us back down into a mournful house vibe that echoes Chicago with its roughhewn analogue textures and lovestruck chords.

Eduardo De La Calle brings back to Memento his trademark
analogue sounds and musical experimentations with the Golden Archives 1 EP. Two tracks that once again define the Spanish maverick's personal hybrid of Detroit Techno and European Electronica, veering into psychedelic territory and progressive rhythms, and continuing to explore the outer limits of the underground scene. 'Missing You (Edit)''s chants and deep soulful atmospherics build up with emotional piano melodies, while 'Quasicalligraphic''s mechanical stabs and ghostly synths are accompanied by spectral percussions and melancholic chords.

'FT', which Sean describes as 'electronic, psychedelic soul', sees him collaborate with an extraordinarily diverse range of artists, spanning some of the most significant underground musical icons of the past 40 years. This stellar collection of artists includes:- Yoko Ono, avant garde musician, conceptual artist and one of the most controversial female artists of all time, Bootsy Collins, widely regarded as one of the finest Funk/R'n'B bass players in the world, Dave Ball, co-founder of Soft Cell, notorious UK synth pioneers with the uniquely sleazy electric soul sound, Fred Schneider from the manic, bizarre and highly innovative US new-wave group B-52's and Alan Vega, vocalist of the essential and groundbreaking New York duo Suicide. A full list of collaborating artists is below.Hifi Sean is the songwriter, DJ and producer Sean Dickson. He is most famously known as front man of the Scottish band The Soup Dragons, responsible for a series of huge hit singles, 'I'm Free', 'Divine Thing', and 'Mother Universe'. Dickson was also the main creative force behind the follow-up project The High Fidelity, a much more artful and intimate project, critically acclaimed for the releases 'Demonstration' and 'The Omnichord Album' . Those albums included two very rare musical collaborations between Dickson and legendary Radio DJ John Peel and also the late Mickey Finn (one half of 70's musical giants T-Rex). In some ways, this was the germination of an idea that would provide the conceptual foundation behind 'FT Sean underwent a total musical reinvention at the turn of the millennium, evolving and transforming his creative energies from a guitar playing band front-man to a DJ. He began playing house, disco and electro in Glasgow's burgeoning and innovative club scene, before relocating to London in 2006 where he began to become a staple figure at deep house underground and afterhours clubs. As the artist Hifi Sean he is now a highly respected DJ and producer, having held residencies at Fire, Ministry of Sound, Shoreditch House and Savage Disco, as well as playing regular international shows in Europe and the USA.In creating 'FT', Sean has carefully fused elements from his past and present musical lives into something unique and joyous:The album is a journey through psychedelic dance rhythms, and electronic and soulful moods, drawing from elements of Disco, Chicago house, Detroit techno, and London underground party roots. 'FT' is at once an homage to the foundations of his musical heart and a determined attempt to forge something new and vital from the sounds that have fuelled his life in music. It is also partly an autobiography in audio of the past 15 years of his life observing dancefloors, and growing as a producer. The album guides the listener from soulful euphoria to Balearic bliss, new wave punk-house to conceptual cosmic voyage, ending with the crescendo of the full-on orchestral movement 'A Kiss Before Dying' with Alan Vega from Suicide. 'FT' carefully underlines the gifts of each of its vocalists, a work which is the instinctive pulse of multiple dances floor tempered and crafted by the nuanced heart and head of the songwriters craft:Calling upon his 25 years of music business experience and connections, Sean worked hard to pull together a collection of quite possibly one of the most impressive range of collaborations witnessed on a single release in recent memory. These transatlantic recordings were made possible through collaborations recorded in London, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Washington, Glasgow and Toronto. Sean says of the project: I think of this album as a curated gallery of all my favourite sounds and loves, and when moulded together, the record paints a unique and personal picture of my life experience.'

'Sidetracking - Part 1: Prologue' is the first vinyl taste of Jona's de- but album project for Alex Niggemann's forward-thinking AEON la-bel. The musical puzzle will be completed in February 2016 with the release of a second vinyl instalment, featuring 6 more original tracks, and the full 10-track album on CD format. Created over the course of two highly creative years, the concept for 'Sidetracking' was for Jona to invite some of his musician and producer friends to collaborate with him in the studio and compli- ment his album's solo productions. This impressive coming together (to be fully revealed over the coming months) features Varoslav (Rue de Plaisance, Paris), Usio (Studio Barnhus), David K (Cocoon), Bo- livian percussionist Daniel Aguilar, Italian pianist Giovanni Verga, and Edinburgh-based producer The Reverse Engineer. Driven by his desire to explore new sound perspectives and ideas, Jona has carefully forged his career path by consistently creating exciting and forward-thinking music. His previous label outings: 'Traffic' on 'Lost Tapes Volume 1' (AEON010) and 'Gemini EP' (AE- ON016) have seen him fine-tune his own unique sound. By incor- porating a wide range of styles into his tracks, Jona strives to break down unnecessary boundaries and explores new ideas and ways to ignite that hallowed dancefloor flame. It is therefore no wonder that his collaborative creations for 'Sidetracking' have yielded such stimulating aural delights. Fittingly, the album prologue opens with a track whose style is heav- ily influenced by the jazz music that Jona was so in love with dur- ing his formative years. Calling on the somewhat mysterious Usio (whose 'Kuwa Huru' LP on Studio Barnhus should be checked by everyone) to join him in a studio jam, has resulted in 'The Chase', an utterly compelling afro-beat influenced percussive groove, topped with swirling funk-fuelled stabs and strings, mesmerising chiming piano, and a large helping of pure, hip-swinging goodness. Taking 'The Chase' on an entirely different and yet perfectly com- plimentary twisted trip, AEON family members Simone Sinatti and Marco Paladin (aka Speaking Minds) conjure up a futuristic technoid disco demon that is all about throbbing energy, sweat, darkness and hissing smoke machines - perfect ingredients for an unforget- table strobelight serenade. Changing the mood entirely and cutting the tempo to a dublicious skank, 'Transmission Breakdown' sees Jona's experimental creative juices in full flow, as he teams up with Edinburgh-based digital com- poser and sound artist Dave House (aka The Reverse Engineer) for a delightfully hazy downtempo jam. Both as an artist and a DJ, Manchester's Marcus Intalex has been at the forefront of soulful, musical drum & bass for what seems like forever. A passion for techno has always run deeply through his music and under his Trevino moniker he is also a powerful creative force (check his recent 'Front' album to get the full picture). Here, he takes 'Transmission Breakdown' on a magical excursion, filled with subtle, hypnotic, evolving energy, anchored with an irresistible pul- sating bassline throb - a perfectly synergetic interpretation to round off Jona's 'Sidetracking' album prologue in style.
With a recent sell-out self-release from Telfort and a highly anticipated debut from Hi and Saberhägen on Huntleys + Palmers, the cast of this debut 12' sampler is as strong as Plutonian steel! Newcomer Philip Budny begins our journey with a crystalline aural interpretation of the waterfalls of Bali, ahead of Hi and Sabes' rhythmic raga. On the flipside is a meditative offering from Telfort, reminiscent of a smoky hangover after a rave in the dungeons of Kinshasa, before chief commanding officer Percy Main's finale zooms 50 years into Sheffield's funktopian future with a bumpy dancefloor robo-killer.
We reside in the heavenly land of Caledonia and wish to share these experiences with the world around us and the planets beyond. We invite all regardless of multiversal location in joining us on our celestial celebration.

After kicking off with a delightfully classy deep house EP from Chicago's Strong Souls, D3 Elements - the label run by the same person as Vibes And Pepper Records - offers up its second EP, The Black 3 EP.
This one comes from another forgotten Chicago producer who shouldn't have ever been forgotten. His name is Brian Harden and he hasn't released anything since 2005. Before then he was a regular on the influential Moods & Grooves label, as well as Relief and and was also a part of the Strictly Jaz Unit crew and Nite Life collective.
First up, 'Qunu' is a ping ponging affair with spritely drums and springy percussion that dance about like a cat on a hot tin roof. Golden pads and a hooky melody phrases bring warmth and colour and it's a refreshingly odd combination. A2 'Days of Days' is a more cerebral and deep affair with wholly lush chords, gentle ticking percussion than pans around the airwaves and a squelchy bassline scurrying about down below. Light and airy at the same time as being married to a compelling groove, it's a master class in genuinely musical house.
Finally, 'Chicago to Detroit' takes up the whole of the flip side. This one is a mix between the percussive drive of the first and the deeper grooves of the second: chords are woozy, drum hits are kinetic and the bulbous bassline sounds pleasingly drunk as it rides up and down of its own accord.
Once again D3 has unearthed some fantastic deep house sounds from a lesser-known producer that everyone should really know about.

Having dabbled with lower tempos of house and techno in recent years on his Exit Records imprint and Convex Industries, dBridge's
4/4 alter ego 'Vevit' presents his debut EP for Electric Minds in the form of the 'Nudge EP' - where two varied cuts display his tactful
use of restraint and release for club tools which, if put in the right hands, can alter the state of play on the dancefloor.
The EP's lead offering 'Nudge' explores the dubbier regions of techno with vocal sample snippets prominent throughout that are
coupled with boisterous kick drums that give the track ample space to breathe. His focus on clinical drum programming and delayed
chords are skilfully here as they patiently ebb and flow throughout the entirety of the track's dramatic six-minute duration. On the b-
side he showcases his slightly more up-tempo sensibilities with quietly electrifying number 'The Act' which sees him turn up the
accomplished Electric Minds debut.

French label Meant serve up another EP from their fast rising Montreal based duo Vosper. Made up of Edouard Le and Christopher
Byron, the pair excels in analogue funk, have also released on Throne of Blood and here get remixed by Items & Things man Marc
Houle. Taking some of their cues from the likes of Drexcyia and Mark Bell, the duo have a sound somewhere between darkened
Techno and physical EBM.
The title track 'Losing Control' is a raw and stripped back bit of house music with a taught bassline, eerie robot voices and plenty of industrial grit and grime in the textures on offer. It's heavy warehouse music but retains a great sense of dynamism before 'Kabuki Playboy' lays down a rich, rasping bassline and has various shooting synths dance all around it. The claps are metallic and grainy
And the mood is one you'd find at a deserted industrial estate in the dead of night. 'Isolation' verges on electro with again a gnarly
Bassline and great sense of wide open but futuristic space. A clatter of hits and spaceship like synths all circle round the groove and it's another hugely evocative track.
Minimal techno master Marc Houle then remixes 'Isolation' into something with more echo and menace buried within. It's a subtle
Rework but one that makes the track that bit more fearsome and moody. First digital bonus 'Oni' is a sparse affair that relies on its alien Voices and spaceship like sounds to craft a very real atmosphere and ambiance where robots and machines rule the roost. It's crisp And analogue, slyly funky and seriously heady. The second digital bonus is a remix of 'Kabuki Playboy' by Monoblok & PSLKTR that
Gets even more heavy and physical with ripping bass notes, dumpy kick drums and serene, searching synths subtly lighting up the
backdrop.
This is a fine EP that really takes you to another world entirely thanks to the studious production and great sense of mood
throughout. As such, Vosper are very much a duo on the rise.

John Tejada does not really need any introduction - he is simply a phenomenon.
Starting with his first releases in the mid nineties, he has been constantly expanding on his massive catalogue of singles, remixes and albums released on well known US and European Techno, House and Electronic Music labels and there seems to be no end in sight. In addition to his output on prestigious labels such as Playhouse, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, 7th City, Kompakt, and others he has also been running his own Palette Recordings imprint since 1996.
John Tejada´s EP for Slices Of LIfe make reference to his earlier releases that were beloved by DJ´s for their driving energy and an occasional wink of humor. The three tracks on - Times LIke This' combine a musical glance back to earlier times, while showcasing Tejada´s high level production skills of today: A Slice from the past without being nostalgic.

All it takes to distinguish a deep house release from all the others these days is the people involved behind it. In this case, And.id who has proven to be as comfortable as making techno for Mobilee, VIVa music and 2020vision, as he is to produce elaborate jazz arrangements, covering electronic music songs with his jazz trio, is the man behind the first two original tracks for the Taverna Tracks imprint. The EP kick starts with 'My People' and in complete New York fashion, with strings, bassline and vocal stabs that could have jumped straight out of a Jovonn production. The next track, 'Face Off", is a more obscure basement techno affair, for the late night afterhours and for those who like to zone and lose themselves in the trippy stabs and tension building strings. The first Taverna Tracks EP rounds up beautifully with a superbly produced Alix Alvarez Remix, which makes use of the original hooks but elevates the whole song with his unique production skills and sublime sense for arrangement. A beautiful example of old-school themed while at the same time contemporary pieces of house music with nostalgia and soulfulness bursting out of them in every single bar.

Keith Tuckers Optic nerve persona returns with the Timelapse ep. Side a1 Minimal Detroit mix is a dark minimal Mood beat pumped excursion into techno floor stumper. A2 Time Displacement mix is a completely different Take with alternative beats creating a sort of shift in time. The tracks show Tuckers growth and influence on Electro and techno with his work in Aux 88.
Side two One moment in time is a Detroit sort of metroplex gem . Tucker once again shows his melodic Melodies and baselines that shows his love for Detroit music and grooves. A highly thought out sequence of great sounds and string chords as only Optic nerve does it. Tucker has hinted many times that he has a lot of Unreleased music from his metroplex days!
B2. Transient Force records label owner AS1 gives us a true electro mix which keeps alot of the original mix of One Moment in Time. The tone is A more Electro clash techno mesh of urban beat programming for the electro heads.

Finally, KANN Headquarter duo Sevensol & Bender bring out a new EP. Both tracks unite the labels perception of contemporary and personal dance music. Again, they perform with a dreamy and harmonic sense for rhythm and express what house music means to them. If you understand the record as a pretentious instruction of 'how not to lose things', you have to find out yourself. KANN firmly believes.

Melodymathics chalk up their 5th in the form of a limited edition double pack vinyl and boy is it special. A pack featuring Detroits own Terrence Parker alongside label head Melodymann and No Shit Like Deep finishing things off. An on point package of four classy house cuts where each one plays its part, add to that a couple of locked grooves and you have a must have record.
Terrence Parker needs no introduction having been killing it for so many years and he has lost none of his fire over that time - he brings his A-game for the label. As a purveyor of groove-ridden infectious piano burners like only he can do his track Heart break shows hes still top of the game. Rolling piano riffs and power house beats steer the course of this TP journey.
Label boss and accomplished producer in his own right Melodymann provides 2 tracks for the EP, his first delivers a deep sophisticated late night houser, fit for deeper crowds and early morning shakedowns equally. A fitting change of pace from the opener that stands up nicely alongside TPs pumper. Melodymann picks up the pace just a touch on the 2nd vinyl with What are you Gonna. With its Skippy hats and square bass line it has the trademarks of a classic groover that reworks a recognisable vocal snip into something completely novel.
Boys from Gent, No Shit Like Deep close up with their sample laced Ambassador of Love. A raw talent for sampling and bringing new blood into old meat is on full display here, No Shit Like Deep finish the ep with a fun, party ready track.
The label are also running a remix competition alongside the release of this ep, with the chance to remix TPs house burner. Keep an eye out on Beatport for details as an opportunity like this doesnt come around too often.

REPRESSED !
Just in time for summer fun, we're hitting you up with the seventh ITJ installment and as you might have guessed, we present you once more with three tracks on a fine piece of waxxx.
The second track of the B-side could just as well have been the A-side. It puts the ass in bass. Just listen.
The B1 track is the beast of burden, pulling the weight of the release. This track will bring down the house without even trying.
The A-side is what it is.
Nothing but the motherfuckin' hits.

Aus Music follow up a string of new signings with the return of 2 of the long-standing staples - label owner Will Saul and long term affiliate Komon. The duo most recently collaborated on a 12 for Kompakt now together they ready the 'Eve's Seven' EP - a deep and dreamy 3-track EP that comes with a remix from recent signing Recloose. Bloom sets arresting riffs circling through rich textures that thicken and thin to startling effect. 'Eve's Seven' follows up with dusty drum samples and bold melodies before the Brooklyn native does what he does best in offering up a typically sunny take on Komon & Will Saul's 'Eve's Seven'. Sweeping filters and a short, driving bass line propel a highly energetic but playful rework primed for brimful dancefloors.
The DBA DUBS series returns with a fresh tropical house roller from Samrai backed by a remix from Michigan resident James T. Cotton. Khadi brings together Samrai's tough drums and ethereal sun-kissed fx with a helping of keys from an anonymous local collaborator. On the flip JTC, the artist behind Dabrye, Sound Murderer and a host of other cult catalogues reinvents Khadi as a Detroit house stepper.
Manchester resident via the Midlands, Samrai makes up 50% of the Swing Ting production unit. He's released with distinguished labels such as Keysound, Niche & Bump and UTTU as well as collaborating with Ruf Dug, Murlo, Brackles & Hyperdub's Okzharp. His DJ sets take in x-amount of styles, always system-friendly with an emphasis on the soulful side of things.

The hip house boom was in full effect, thanks to Tyree Cooper's efforts, and Trax responded with this double-header. 'Power Move' is straight up hip hop, but it's the flip, producer by Trax regular Lidell Townsell, 'I'll Make You Dance' that does the business here. Kool Rock Steady, also known as Edward Rudolph, had serious credentials for an MC, being cousin of one Africa Bambaataa. This release is also notable for yet another misspelling of Lidell Townsell's Christian name (Lydell, since you ask).

We are delighted to welcome up-and-coming Hamburg-based producer, Simon Ferdinand to the Landed camp - an artist who is producing some of the finest Raw, Deep House music out there at the moment! Tipped as the rising star of 2014, we are honoured to have Simon as one of the Landed team and roster.
His new EP, Back To The Raw - as the title suggests - sees Simon delivering three original tracks of stand-out, raw vibe. Already moving dance floors across the globe and gaining support from notable DJs such as Norm Talley, Rick Wade, Gari Romalis, Alton Miller, Santonio Echols, Moodymanc, Varoslav and Jon Reynolds.
A1: Jack My Records - Original Mix: Simon kickstarts the EP with a jacking, dancefloor destroyer. Tough drums with a strong rolling bass-line, worked magically with smooth-moving sound design and spoken words. It's guaranteed to take the roof off, given any right moment.
A2: Tissue - Original Mix: Moving on seamlessly, Tissue takes us further adrift into our journey of the Deep via a 60s psychedelic vibe. Tightly knitted drums backed with a serious low-end bass-line create a sincere and tough vibe from the start. Add in jazzy keys and subtle drops to keep things flowing at a solid pace, and Tissue leaves you with a natural high sensation.
B1: The Ironic Truth - Original Mix: Profound and deeply emotional, The Ironic Truth is a delicious slice of warm goodness, flavoured with lush soundscapes, edgy chords and a deep grooving percussion. We enter the fathom world of the underground, where Simon is truly on top of his game.
B2: Yellow Snow - Original Mix: The EP finishes with a beautiful masterpiece. On Yellow Snow, Simon really showcases his outstanding ability to captivate with quality Raw Deep House music. Combining dreamy keys and a smooth bass-line with tight grooving drums and percussion, Yellow Snow completes this stand-out EP in true underground style.

Audiojack's Gruuv label returns this October with a four-track package from French producer Okain, featuring a remix from Tuccillo. Parisian artist Samuel Thalman aka Okain has quite the standing in contemporary electronic music having been a prominent name as a DJ and producer for the past fifteen years. Playing at some of the leading nightclubs across the globe such as Fabric, Watergate, Space Ibiza, Rex Club and Electric Pickle to name but a few. Thalman's also built quite the respectable back-catalogue in his time, releasing material via the likes of Tsuba, BPitch, Memento and Cadenza, and here we see him add Gruuv to his affiliations.
Kicking off the release is 'Down the Block', seeing Okain offer up a rugged percussion and bass led house cut, fuelled by swinging rhythms, rumbling sub tones, sporadic sax licks and processed vocal lines, opening up the EP on an energetic tip.
'RZ One' follows this, retaining a similar aesthetic with an insistent drive and penetrative low-end, though Okain opts for a grittier production feel here, distorting the drum sounds, instilling expansive, atmospheric reverb tails and drawn out delays alongside hip-hop imbued vocal lines.
On the latter half of the release we have two versions of 'By Your Side', the first of which is the original mix from Okain, which takes on a more stripped-back approach in comparison to the preceding composition's, laying its focus on fluttering synth sounds, a stab-led bass hook and warm motown style vocal chops. 2020Vision artist Tuccillo then rounds off the package with his mix of 'By Your Side', turning in his signature percussive-led style on the mix with intricately programmed drums and a subtle underlying tension that softly bubbles away in the depths over the cuts seven minute duration.

I am catalogue number 016 on Synapsis Records. Four tunes called 4D Mind Sculpting comprise this 12' that fill up the frequency spectrum with its acid lines, chord progressions, and arpeggiation lines. Four dimensions do not exist in our reality but if one could imagine the extra dimensional sense, then these four compositions are what I imagine.
A1. Arp Love Confusion:
Arp Love Confusion///Strong words of advice begin with a full bass and sparse chords as the percussion strikes in the background. Later an arpeggiation followed by a second arpeggiation happens to create moody and malleable effects. The intensity picks up as the chords swell and the vocals continue, all the elements persist with fluid motion as it slowly descends to a kick at the end.
A2. Leecher:
Leecher///A warm kick and panning arpeggiation begins the composition followed quickly by a melody and then another arpeggiation appears. The percussion is sparse and moving, then an acid line drops that causes counterpoint before becoming the main focus of the tune for a while. The acid line modulates for a bit and leads us back to an arp line. The head bobbing is now in full effect, as all the elements move back in forth and fill up one's eardrum with waveforms. The acid line makes a break and the journey comes to an end with the arp line.
B1. S¸imarik:
S¸imarik///A filtered percussion loop with sparse chords begin the piece. Hi hats come in hot that leads us into acid line which also serves as the melody. Then suddenly a counter melody appears as the chords hit more often. Many modulations occur as the tune moves through time causing great variety due to the decay from the chords. The acid line comes back to do the work and is the focus as the track builds back up just to be deconstructed at the end.
B2. Sensei:
Sensei///The 12" ends with banging percussion complimented with fluttering flute lines. The acid line comes in to add a groove that leads us to a chord progression. The bright chords ride over the top as the acid line modulates. The chords gain steam and the acid line becomes the focus as the synth toms syncopate, the kick also moves around adding additional syncopation. The interplay between the elements continues until the conclusion.

Starting a new series of releases, we have the Kollaborationz compilation, in which we will have different works from groups of producers per track. The first track Check In Detroit by Emanuele Inglese & Markomas, has a powerful base complemented by a strong involving techno bass line. It also haves great ambience synths in the background that gives this track a fantastic vibe. To finish the groove of this dance floor killer track, we get some vocal phrases that imprint the party feeling making it a truly bomb tack. The second track comes by the hand of Lucio Spain & UGLH, called Old Synth 80's, which makes honor to its name with a defined and old school synth line that works not only as bass line but as main melodic element too. It haves a very groovy base and a fantastic work with the vocals too, making it perfect to rock the dance floor too. The last track is a collaboration of three artists, the Re Us duo, Olivier Berger and Toby Holguin. All together they created the single Allure, which is the deeper of this three tracks and it combines a rock solid base and strong bass line, with delicate vocals and subtle synths that creates an almost hypnotic vibe that with immerse the audience in a solid trip played in the right moment of the night.

amsterdam based record label just edits is back with another release made for the floor.
hip house party anthems sounds a bit cheesy but this is exactly what the tracks do when played on a proper sound system. these tracks were never meant to be released and could
only be heard on the floor at the right place at the right time. But since reactions were always so overwhelming these tracks are now released for everybody to enjoy.
the a-side features original tracks from amsterdam cool kid tommy theo (this is his first release)and label founders l'atelier. The b-side is filled with 2 stacy kidd remixes that fit right in.
note: these tracks are made for a proper party!

Limited Green Vinyl Pressing
Originally released on Rebirth in 2010 'Boing Pop' by Tevo Howard gets a re-release on another Limited 10" due to big demand.
One of the most watched artists to emerge from Chicago's house scene in the last few years Tevo's productions have tapped into a rich vein of the city's deeply rooted heritage and duly attracted a lot of attention from House heads the world over. And Rebirth has been the first European label to release his music.
Warm and Emotional with a Raw and Hypnotic vibe like all Tevo's productions, 'Boing Pop' is authentic deep house with a touch of acid, rememberings of Phuture Trax, perfectly recreated by Tevo with the same kind of intensity as its inventors ! The Original has been edited and remastered, and the package include a brand new mix from Melbourne's man of the moment Francis Inferno Orchestra ! Griffin James is responsible for a great rework cutting the original beats and bass, adding some spoken vocals, and building the track on a subtle piano stab and pads which drive you to heaven !
Look out for the EP full release early in 2014 !

Detroit Wax presents the first EP of a series of three from the Godfather of Techno Soul, Eddie Fowlkes. This first EP DW/0011, deep and classy, is a perfect introduction to the new direction Eddie wants to take. Four tracks that will bring you further into the groove, from a sweaty nightclub to a poetic walk in the woods. Side A is designed as a wonder that starts with the perfect spell, SideA.(1)"No Worries", which creates a unique mood you want to listen to more and more. The second track SideA.(2)"Oriane" is hypnosis itself like a long journey where dance lead to transe. Side B is about dancing, first with SideB.(1)"Stella" where the sound remind us of the classical French Touch sound with the irresistible voice of Eddie on top of that. The last track SideB.(2)" Imva" is going through your body instantaneously and makes you want to let yourself carried by the music. A complete EP, which shows the versatility of the Detroit artist, and will make you chilling as much as dancing!

Limited vinyl only ep. No digital release, no promo campaign. No repress. Second part of the Cyanide Overdose series, this time introducing the talented Mexican producer Jamin Hernandez, well-known after his releases on top notch labels, such as My Little Dog or Tenampa. This brilliant artist, based in DF, delights us with the track Everything Disppeared', a beautiful piece of melodic deep house, driven by a powerful dark bassline and spiced with a sexy and catchy women voice and beautiful piano chords. The perfect soundtrack for your late Summer Open Air sets.
The first remix comes by the French master Sebb Junior (Large Music, Salted Music). Sebb has produced it only using an MPC sampler and a bunch of good old vinyls, obtaining a fantastic track of old skool deep house. The second remix comes by the Berlin production duo, Quadrakey (Tooman Records), who have given the original track a brilliant funky touch, adding a new groovy bassline and ethereal stabs. The icing on the cake comes by the Kassel producer Georgi Barrel (Sinnmusik), who has transformed the original track into an extraordinary piece of Chicago House, with killer acid bassline and crispy synths. This ep will make you sweat like a good glass of poison.

It's not everyday that pianist and composer, Francesco Tristano, joins forces with one of the Belleville Three - the godfathers of Detroit techno - and yet, anyone who's followed the Luxembourg artist will know that expectation is not a currency he deals in.
Set for release on Transmat, the groundbreaking label from said techno pioneer, Derrick May, Surface Tension is not just the latest album from the prolific Tristano, but perhaps the most significant in his ongoing explorations into electronic music. Described by the man himself as his "most techno and synth-based project yet," the eight-track effort is both a celebration of electronic instrumentation and the first record May has worked extensively on for the better part of two decades. "I had to lure him into my studio," Tristano says of May with a smile, "he was like Alice in Wonderland when he saw the synthesizers."
Originally developed as a way create new material for Tristano's p:anorig project - a unique live set-up debuted at Barcelona's Sónar festival earlier this year, which finds the artist surrounded by large array of keyboards, synthesizers and other equipment (although ironically, no piano) in full view of the audience - Surface Tension grew into a project in its own right. Now 34 years old, Tristano explains that he is only now at a time in his life where he has a studio he can truly call his own. "I can hook up all these synthesizers that I've picked up over the years," he continues, "it's the fulfillment of that." With an instrumentarium of analogue, digital, classic and modern gear - ranging from Prophets to Moogs, to Rolands and Yamahas - at his and May's disposal, Tristano has aimed to keep processing to a minimum from the word go. The pair aren't just using these synths, they're paying tribute to them, honoring the rich, recognisable sound palettes that have made them household names.
The result is an album that feels, at once, nostalgic and fresh, that feels like an old friend, but one who never ceases to surprise. From the ambient vision of 'Esoteric Thing', drifting along to the sound of birdsong, to more beat-centric pieces such as 'The Mentor' and the quirky 'Xokolade' , the equipment, and the love it's been treated with, shines through. Both Tristano and May's individual presences are obvious too, yet work in a way so complimentary to each other as to blur the lines at which they cross. 'Pacific FM' is a lesson in uplifting techno, keys fluttering over padfoot bass, the futuristic Detroit dance of 'In Da Minor' is undercut by eerie, unpredictable glass synth-work, 'Rocco's Bounce' is free-form jazz tugged into line by structured four-to-the-floor, there's even an itchy, jittering, Decca Records-sanctioned remix of Japanese pianist and general Renaissance man, Ryuichi Sakamoto's classic 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence'.
Those hoping for a Francesco Tristano piano album: be duly warned. "The piano is there, but it's more like the shadow of the piano. We don't have the mass of that sound, it's more like the reminiscence of that sound," says Tristano. But it's this which gives Surface Tension the aforementioned significance. Tristano hasn't abandoned his roots - they're deep, but there, for those who wish to find them - yet has simultaneously transcended what it means to be a pianist in the 21st century. Tristano and May have brought together old and new, within themselves and on a wider musical level, and in doing so, rekindled the spirit of futurist expression that techno was first founded on all those years ago.

Spell PETS backwards to get STEP. Spell STEP forwards to find PETS going back to basics. STEP is the new concept vinyl only label from the founder of PETS, Catz 'N Dogz, that highlights the rawest forms and root functions of quality club music. STEP finds the fundamental groove with undertheradar house and techno that is isn't afraid to be rough around the edges. STEP is limited promo and all about the music. Each new STEP will be released every four months on vinyl only.
Having provided a remix for the label back in 2010 Ethyl & Flori now release their first full ep for the label, 'The Last Ninja' kicks things off with an unmistakable old school tech-house feel which to us at FOF recalled the classic 'Architecture' dj mix by Terry Francis with it's punchy kick, sharp percussion and imbued uplifting warmth. 'Fornjot' by Flori on the flip is a different proposition, although still deeply entrenched in a throwback to yesterdays production stylings, this is a much more techno orientated groove with the tracks repeated metallic bass riff anchoring the track in a gloriously hypnotic yet fresh way.

For the best part of a decade, Fred Peterkin has impressed with his ultra-deep, soul-flecked take on deep house and techno. Here, his Soul People Music imprint gives birth to a new sub-label, Energy of Sound, with the New York producer delivering a double-pack's worth of previously unreleased cuts. Naturally, the standard is abnormally high throughout, with Peterkin variously serving up sumptuous, dreamy fare ("Down Under", the San Francisco '90s deep house revivalism of "Don't Be Afraid"), chunkier deep house rollers ("Memory P"), crunchy dub house ("Dub In The Sky"), and throbbing, tech-tinged brilliance ("Tokyo To Chiba" and the European-sounding "Sybian").
