Over the past few years Huxley's name has been on everyone's lips in the house scene, following a string of deep house and garage-infused tracks for labels like Hypercolour, Tsuba and 20:20 Vision. His sound is incredibly distinctive, its swung rhythms rooted in UK garage, accompanied by diced vocals and chords that hark further backward toward originators like MK and Todd Edwards.

Huxley's latest release offers three subtly different takes on his sound. Lead track 'Lost Love' is stark and electronic, pairing swing percussion with keys that trickle upward through the beat. It's elevated further by shimmering synth licks that ripple across its surface and mark it out immediately in the mix. 'Who Am I' has been all over house dancefloors and Rinse FM recently, its downpitched vocal sample buffeted by thick organ chords. 'Walk 2 U' rounds off the package with one of Huxley's most explicitly garage-leaning productions to date, opening with a pirouetting two-step beat reminiscent of El-B, before a four-to-the-floor kickdrum halfway through transforms the track into a burning peak-time anthem.

t's been a long time coming for Goodwill Gumede. The South African singer and musician has been working on his material for over six years under the enigmatic moniker EnaWadan before finally exhibiting his productions to a worldwide audience (thanks to Sonar Kollektiv's signing). The spirituality of his alias (which means literally translated "I
am everything in anything") can also be heard in his creative output. His African background and heritage looms very large in his approach to produce contemporary dance music. But don't try to limit him to his sophisticated rhythm structures.

DJ Rahaan features twice on the sixth edition of the Grimy Edits series, supplying his own edit and a collaborative piece with Zernell. Rahaan's first edit, "Rebound", booms with beats, as hands to the ceiling vocals wail above a grooving bass and slicing hats. His second edit, "What!", this time with Zernell, falls somewhere between a disco-mashed version of Myles Davis, Shaft and something from a Guy Ritchie soundtrack. Tim McAllister drops the third and final edit in "I Need Help!" employing James Brown's funkadelics to a horn stabby and danceable jam.

OE 03 comes from the Superior Inferior and includes remixes of the title track by scouse stalwart John Heckle. Produced from feelings and insight although clearly taking inspiration from numerous genres such as minimal synth, wave, acid, techno, EBM and industrial.

Echelon XIII is a heavily synth based track with much Monopoly input, heavy 707 drums and raw percussion giving it a moody downbeat feel, however the unexpected acid hook throws a whole new dynamic to the track. Interstellar Acid Pzykosis is a much heavier track and its evident there is some EBM and industrial inspiration here. Spaced out Moog elements and a dominating 303 line make it left of centre.

The B side has been reserved for John Heckles remixes of the EP's namesake. Interpretation 1 certainly reflects the contorted nature of the original however it brings a new uplifting and carefree side to it also. The second interpretation is one one hand lighter with some of its synth elements than the original but constant acid pulses and ridiculously heavy kick patterns in parts set it in its own stride.

Continuing their fine Tape Edit series of releases the Check The Guns boys bring us a 4 track EP packed with expertly sliced up gems.
First up is Greg Hendersons "Dreamin'" which is given a CTG workout that should move any discrerning dance floor.
Next up is the cow bell and bass guitar grinding work out of "Love Somebody". On the flip side "Disco Magic" brings the funk to the table and finally "Can't shake" is an old school cut up with a vintage feel.

DJ Kaos' Jolly Jams imprint, returns with some ultra big club slammer of their next release, a killer hot jam by Richard From Milwakee. Featuring a massive Eric Dunks Duncan mix this is bound to cause mayhem at your local disco.

Diynamic's recent member from the Netherlands released his first whole EP on the Hamburg based label. His debut shows that his production skills have evolved enourmously in the last few months which justifies his constant appearance on Diynamic. The opener is a dreamy track which literally takes you by the hand and leads you through cold winter days. The huge power of its warm melody and the supporting vocals by Terry Shand embrace all kinds of music tastes. Also the dub version of 'Take My Hand' shows that Karmon's productions are nothing but pure beat and sound facility. With 'When Dark Becomes Night' Karmon creates a very connecting atmosphere between the name and the track itself. Its relaxed pianotunes and the short but very intense acoustical break unite wonderfully with the melodic basslines. The melody of that track gives you a typical Diynamic earworm, we all love so much. The second b side track 'Feel It' is a beautiful composition of both free heavenly melodies and wonderfully arranged synth & basslines, giving its listeners a feeling of total clarity and inner consciousness. - WE FEEL IT!

After having 'an impressive 2012, releasing a mix of lovingly crafted edits, seductive slo-mo disco originals and starlight disco/house fusion' (as Juno said in one the latest reviews for the label) on digital, Los Grandes is proudly to present their first release on vinyl.
The release is containing two iconic tracks for the label plus two unreleased.

Dynamicron, boss of Los Grandes, presents 'Play It!' which is heavy with that block party 70's/80's feeling but revamped into a nowadays club crusher. Dynamicron's (with Los Grandes aside) has quickly become a reference of the Nu Disco scene. His tracks are played by Trujillo, Jimmy The Twin, Joseph Terruel, Fingerman, Irregular Disco Workers, Billy Bogus, Heion, Gazeebo and Karim among others. One of his latest works is a remix for the legendary N.Y. band The Units in where his featuring along side Danielle Baldelli, Phill Weeks and Todd Terje among others)

Future Feelings 'Skylife' was described by Juno as a 'delightfully rubbery bass guitar grooves, with the former taking top billing thanks to some choice vocal samples and a loose electrofunk/disco fusion vibe'. It is one of the two tracks from his debut EP 'Funk EP', released by Los Grandes. Played by Julian Sanza, Dave Allison, Superbreak, Ilya Santana and is featuring on Junodownload Recomended Disco in October 2012 as well.

LTJ 'All Ya Got' it's a burner of a groove. And we are more than glad of having to the master of the groove LTJ on this release which such a brilliant track. LTJ's background and his consistency creating club hits (usually number ones on the sales charts) speaks by itself.

Heion's cut, 'Keep On Hiding' is a blissful organic groove crafted by the Romanian genius Heion (aka Razvan Ghenciu originally included on Los Grandes compilation Black Lace Vol. 3 This track is one of the best sellers from the label and is supported by Dicky Trisco, Hotbox, Fingerman among many others.

Los Grandes was founded by Dynamicron on 2011 starting with their well known series of compilations Black Lace in wich many renowned producers have been featured beside this their have released EP's from Heion, Future Feelings, Lazy Kiss, Softmore, Groovedown, Jona Saucedo and Chewy Rubs so far.

After causing mayhem in the hands of a select few dj's, and rising to anthem status at Andrew Weatherall & Sean Johnston's mighty A Love From Outer Space, Logan Fisher's edit of "Walk The Night" is finally getting a vinyl only release on his Haules Baules imprint , accompanied by a mind altering acid interpolation remix courtesy of the aforementioned Mr Johnston in his Hardway Bros guise.

So it's HB on HB action, as Haules Baules open proceedings on edit duty, ruthlessly stripping the original of it's Glam tendencies, and refocusing it into a throbbing slice of camp, disco menace.
Sinister synths, sweeps and delays fuse with the original leaving you swaggering about on the dancefloor like Gary Glitter on Ketamine.
Sean's been banging them out of late, putting his now signature Hardway Bros sound on mixes for Alien Alien, Ajello and The Asphodells.
Here we see one of his most established efforts yet, taking Creeper down into cavernous EBM dub territory. Pulsating leads, teasing chants and a distorted vocal guide us to it's brooding depths, before our voodoo hips succumb to the unstopable Hardway Bros acid wiggle. Look out, take care cause Creeper's most definitely gonna get ya!

The undisputed Queen of House Liz Torres is back on the scene with "Your Love is All I Need", a sensual track mixing heartache and hope of a love renewed. The title track blends the old and the new to create a dancefloor hit reminiscent of Emotive's early 90s output. Dennis Kane of Disques Sinthomme NY explores a guitar led disco odyssey version which has already been picked up by none other than Dave Mancuso and had its debut at the Loft last month. East London's Toby Tobias turns out a 9 minute late night build bringing in the acid and analogue elements he does so damn well. Finally the dub mix offers a stripped down MAW-esque pounding which should find its place on any sweat drenched floor. Liz Torres "Your Love is All I Need" 12" out soon on Luxor Records.

Toronto-based duo A Digital Needle are purveyors of disco, funk, & soul edits, pruned for the dancefloor & subscribers to the Mancuso method of deejaying, with a preference for quality sound and selection over long, elaborate mixes et al. They join forces with fellow Canadian re-editor/producer Cyclist to deliver a killer 4-tracker of the finest disco-funk. The release comes in a full colour sleeve photographed by top photographer Matt Barnes (who has worked with Snoop Dogg, Dimitri From Paris, Mike Skinner, Lily Allen), in the vein of a "lost" disco LP from the 70s and looks amazing. This is the first release on Tripped Out Records and is one hell of a debut. Watch this space.

On the occasion of the sixth Record Store Day in April, Sonar Kollektiv releases for the first time a limited 300 copy special edition in celebration of the day, the vinyl and the record store. And it wouldn't be Sonar Kollektiv wouldn't we be treated with a very special goodie: The new shooting stars and new signings of the label, Paskal & Urban Absolutes took a classic out of the extensive repertoire of the label to task, 'That Night' by Jazzanova from 2001. As usual with a remix by Paskal & Urban Absolutes the vocals of the track are not short-changed after the revision. With a
voice like the one of Vikter Duplaix you can't do wrong anyway. On the other hand, Alexander Kastner and Adrian Hoffmann built such a
safe bet of a 2013 sounding deephouse cracker that you get subsequently a dub version of it on the flipside. You can call it a winwin situation

Emotional Rescue is proud to reissue one of Germany's best - if most underrated - collectives Dunkelziffer. Formed of Dominik Von Senger, Reiner Linke and Helmut Zerlett, the floating line up also included contributions from Can's Damo Suzuki and Jaki Liebetzeit, as well as The Unknown Cases' Stefan Kratchen and Reebop Kwaku Baah. This true "supergroup", over a 6 year period, made 4 ground breaking albums that covered the classic Krautrock blend of heavy, repetitive drumming, intricate, overlapping melody and sonic intonation, but expanded it to include heavy dub, soul and jazz elements. This special Retrospection Obi Set is being issued as part of Record Store Day and features the three 12"s that will later be released individually.

The latest Emotional Response release provides something very special indeed, in the form of a new track from under the radar psychedelic rock musician Nick Nicely. Nicely has been making music from the 70s onwards, but his music has recently undergone something of a critical reappraisal, with the likes of Robert Wyatt and Robyn Hitchcock supposedly inspired by his work; "Wrottersley Road" provides the ideal entry into his music, a masterful piece of shoegaze pop filled with fuzzed out guitars and Eastern psychedelic tones. Remixes are provided by Invisible Hands, who provide a minimal 80's inspired electro-pop version, which comes saturated in radiophonic textures, and The Oscillation, who take the track into even more abstract ambient territory than the original, deep into a place where time seems to stand still entirely, drawing its rich textures out into infinity.

Mathy K. & The Funky Punch is an urban legend. It is a shadow play in music history and a tale told by party addicts. The world wide web reveals several hints on his person, which are however, not officially confirmed. Initial Mathy K. & The Funky Punch activities were recorded in the 80's. In the beginning of the 90's he suddenly disappeared. Musicians, journalists and his fans are searching for him since then. Nowadays you find news articles, magnetic tape cassette and studded jackets with his portrait in the museums of music history.
The most dramatic example for the swoon, which his disappearance caused within society is Mark Wahlberg's project a.k.a. "Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch", which was dedicated to him. In recent years pictures and sound recordings appeared which were assumed to be a proof for the new blazing activity of the music legend. However, almost everything was a fake initiated by greedy local journalists. The first evidence of his comeback which can be taken seriously was recorded in 2011. This happened when the track "Back In The Days" was released with utmost secrecy on a record label situated in Jena.
A part of music history was revived. After decades of desire for his music and a legendary live concert in New York his first official EP will be released. The sound of Cosmic Disco influenced the EP to a great extent. Mathy K. converted it into a distinctive Mikro-Cosmic-Uptempo-Disco - Sound.

A self-confessed fascination with 80s Music and film scores from the same era..George Thompson has an ability to approach music with a strong visual aesthetic which is a common theme in his work, first apparent in his role as part of the duo 'Spectral Empire', alongside Kyle Martin. Spectral Empire caught our ear many years ago. with their sound that evoking a world of abandoned battleships, psychedelic fog and possession by dark forces through a maze of industrial beats, metallic drones and heavy baselines.
A trip to Dusseldorf in 2009 saw Thompson connect with the cities' currently vibrant electronic scene, with artists such as Kriedler, Der Rauber und der Prinz, Music Cargo and Toulouse Low Trax inspiring Thompson to continue his sonic explorations and push him forwards as a solo artist, under the 'Black Merlin' moniker. As 'Black Merlin', the brooding, dark, cinematic elements remain, juxtaposed by Thompson's obsession with late-80's FM Synthesis and expansive production of artist such as Trevor Horn and Blancmange. Black Merlin's first solo release was on Andrew Weatherall's vinyl-only label Bird Scarer in late 2012.

Following on from two volumes of well received digital and vinyl releases, Rory Phillips' 'Mixed Fortunes' singles series returns for a third outing.
Heard at the top of Rory's recent mix for Beats In Space, 'Don't Stop' is a collaboration with rising London producer Martin Dubka.
Best known for producing records for Ali Love and Tyson as well as adding additional audio muscle to recent Aeroplane productions, his disco chops came in very handy to help create this bouncing piece of vocoder boogie.
On the flip is 'E-Bow', named after the handheld electronic gadget used to create the soaring Fripp- like guitar sound that emerges half way through.
