Nachdem Beartooth mehr als ein Jahrzehnt lang rohe, ungefilterte Emotionen in Musik kanalisiert haben,
die sie zu einer der wegweisenden Acts des modernen Metalcore macht, läutet „Pure Ecstasy“ als ihr
erstes Album unter Fearless Records ein neues Kapitel für die Band ein. In dem Opener und Titelsong
legt Frontmann Caleb Shomo von der ersten Note an alles offen. Es ist ein roher, bewusst desorientierter
Einstieg – bei dem emotionale Extreme miteinander verschmelzen – und der den Ton für ein Album angibt,
das darauf aufgebaut ist, jedem Hoch und Tief ohne zu zögern zu begegnen. Nach dem Erfolg von „The
Surface“ (2023) folgt mit „Pure Ecstasy“ ein Album, das sich offener, ungefilterter und größer zeigt als
alles, was die Band bisher gemacht hat.

Nach 13 Jahren Album-Pause kehrten die Beginner 2016 mit Advanced Chemistry zurück. Das erste

Two artists with deep ties to Metalheadz come together for the first time on 'Metaphors'. Bringing together Benny L's forward-facing production with the unmistakable voice of Cleveland Watkiss, the collaboration grew from a completely unplanned moment during the Randall tribute at Sun & Bass in 2024, where Cleveland improvised vocals over Benny's set.

Rather than forcing those vocals into an existing track, Benny chose to write something entirely around them. Guided by instinct, the track found its identity through a chance synth glitch that became central to the composition, with the original recording preserved after the sound itself was lost.

The result is 'Metaphors', a collaboration that feels as natural as its beginnings, blending spontaneity, soul and atmosphere meet in a way that could only happen between two artists so closely connected to the Metalheadz story.

Terrestrial Funk presents a piece of Detroit history. Born and raised in Motor City, Karl Fultz knew at the age of twelve that he wanted to be the most talented and successful DJ in the world. In 1999 he released on Juan Atkins’ Metroplex under the alias People Mover and in 2000 he released as Black Electric on Puzzlebox. Inspired by British synth-pop duo Eurythmics, Fultz says Black Electric was a way to get more women involved in the techno movement. Together alongside vocalists Tiffany Elliott, Kim Glover & Talena Fultz, Black Electric brought sex appeal to the scene. Their first and only release stays in demand and has become inaccessible until now. Terrestrial Funk’s reissue provides two fresh cuts on the new 12”; ‘Purple’ a chugging Detroit acid track describing soul modification to enhance intimacy and a proper bassed out club mix of the nasty electro sex song ‘Work That’, which was only featured as an acapella on the original release. The release also features updated mixes of both the title track and the half-time anthem 'Come To Me' alongside the original y2k mix of 'Colors'. Black Electric stands as a testament to turn of the millennia Detroit and the city’s undying devotion to expand our connection to music.

"SABLE, fABLE" ist das fünfte Album des Projekts von Justin Vernon und enthält eine Liebesgeschichte, die mit üppiger, strahlender Popmusik unterlegt ist. Während das Album mit der verletzlichen Entlastung der im vorangegangenen Herbst erschienenen "SABLE," EP beginnt, geht das Triptychon nahtlos in eine neue, neunsongige Saga über, in der aus einer Person zwei werden, Dunkelheit sich in lachsfarbene Schönheit verwandelt und Traurigkeit in unbändige Freude umschlägt. "SABLE, fABLE" wurde von Justin Vernon und Jim-E Stack produziert und hauptsächlich in Vernons April Base in Wisconsin aufgenommen, nachdem das Studio während einer Renovierung jahrelang still lag. Das Konzept für das Album entstand am 22.2.22, als Stack mit Danielle Haim dort eintraf. Mehrere Tage lang eingeschneit, vereinten sich Vernons und Haims Stimmen auf "If Only I Could Wait", einem Duett mit entscheidender Perspektive, in dem es darum geht, dass man nicht die Kraft hat, die beste Version von sich selbst außerhalb des Glühens einer neuen Liebe zu sein. Wenn SABLE der Prolog war, ein Prolog in der Dunkelheit, eine kontrollierte Verbrennung, die den Weg für neue Möglichkeiten ebnet, dann ist fABLE das Buch, das folgt. Wo SABLE, ein Werk der Einsamkeit war, ist fABLE eine ausgestreckte Hand. Strahlende, verschnörkelte Popmusik umspielt Vernons Stimme, während er sich auf eine neue und schöne Ära konzentriert. Bei jedem Lied sind seine Augen auf eine bestimmte Person gerichtet. Es ist Liebe, was bedeutet, dass in fABLE eine intensive Klarheit, Konzentration und Ehrlichkeit herrscht. Es ist das Porträt eines Mannes, der von dieser ersten Begegnung überflutet und überwältigt ist ("Everything Is Peaceful Love"). Es ist ein Tableau, das von Sex und unbändigem Verlangen geprägt ist ("Walk Home"). Ein Mann, voller Licht und Tatendrang, der eine ganze Zukunft vor sich sieht. Verliebtheit hat etwas unbestreitbar Heilendes an sich, und die intensive Klarheit, Konzentration, Ehrlichkeit und Feierlichkeit, die sie in diese Songs bringt. Doch der Schatten von SABLE liegt noch immer in der Luft, und alte Gefühle können zurückkehren, selbst wenn man sich die Mühe gemacht hat, neu anzufangen. Wie in einer Fabel vermittelt jeder Track eine Lektion, und in fABLE geht es um den selbstlosen Rhythmus, der erforderlich ist, wenn man mit einer anderen Person verstrickt ist. Der vorletzte Song - und im weiteren Sinne das ganze Album - ist ein Versprechen. Er ist bereit, diesen Rhythmus zu finden.

Bonnie "Prince" Billy veröffentlicht ein Live-Album mit neu arrangierten Songs aus seinem umfangreichen Katalog.

Am 18. September erscheint Ghosts of American Psychonauts, das neue Live-Album von Bonnie "Prince" Billy. Aufgenommen am Valentinstag im Pico Union Project in Los Angeles, führt das Album durch verschiedene Stationen von Will Oldhams Karriere als Bonnie „Prince“ Billy. Zu hören sind neu arrangierte Stücke von Letting Go und I See A Darkness bis zu jüngeren Songs wie I Made A Place und The Purple Bird. Begleitet von London May, Jacob Duncan und weiteren Gästen, rückt das Album Oldhams Qualitäten als Live-Musiker und seine ausgeprägte Fähigkeit zum musikalischen Storytelling in den Mittelpunkt.

Das atemberaubende Artwork wurde meisterhaft von Anton Atanasov (OldSchool Crew) handgemalt. The name COLD EMBRACE has stood for heavy, epic Doom Metal for over 24 years now. Lyrically, a lot revolves around nature-loving paganism. But there are also everyday experiences about people on the lyrical menu. The band was founded by Andreas Libera (bass, vocals). The first permanent line-up came about in 1998 during the recording of the third demo through a collaboration with Michael Hahn
(INCUBATOR, ex-RHYTHM JUNKIES (guitar, vocals)), who was in charge of the recording as a producer, moreover, who recorded some lead and melodic guitars. The was the result of the collaboration was the debut „Ode to Sorrow“ from 1999, which triggered positive reactions from the press (Orkus, Metal Hammer etc.). After the release, COLD EMBRACE got the opportunity to accompany New Orleans sludge doom legends CROWBAR on their German tour dates. In 2001, the second album, Age of Doom, a thoroughbred epic Viking Doom record, was produced. They were not idle at all and already in August
2003 they recorded the compositions for the EP „Buran“. Some of these were songs that were not included on the two albums. Since no label could be found, the hitherto successful band and project slowly but surely fizzled out. At some point the involved partners sat together and listened to the „BuranEP“ after a long break. It was concluded that a few new songs and a qualitatively adjusted remaster would be a good start.

So „Buran“ was remixed, mastered and new songs were added. The result will be released in 2022 by the authentic label ALLEGRO TALENT MEDIA under the album title „Versus Recentem Mundum“. At the same time, it should serve as a prelude to the fourth full-length album, which is scheduled for release in 2023.

Unter den 24 Alben, aus denen sich die Originalausgabe der Avant-Garde-Reihe der Deutschen Grammophon zusammensetzt, die zwischen 1968 und 1971 erschien, zählt die Interpretation von „Paragraph 2
& 7“ aus „The Great Learning“ des englischen Komponisten Cornelius Cardew mit dem Scratch Orchestra
nach wie vor zu den beliebtesten und komplexesten.
Nach Abschluss seines Studiums an der Royal Academy of Music in London zog Cardew 1958 nach Köln
und arbeitete dort als Assistent von Karlheinz Stockhausen im Studio für elektronische Musik des Westdeutschen Rundfunks (WDR).
John Tilbury sagte, dass es Cardews Ziel sowohl mit dem Scratch Orchestra als auch mit „The Great
Learning“ war, „die grundlegendsten Prinzipien der westlichen Kunst und insbesondere das des Künstlers
als Aristokraten zu überwinden. Das Scratch Orchestra war ein Ausdruck der Universalität der Kunst;
Kunst als Lebensweise.“
Diese 1971 aufgenommene Veröffentlichung von „The Great Learning“ ist nach wie vor die wichtigste
Quelle für eine klangliche Erfahrung mit dem Scratch Orchestra und der bedeutendste Beitrag zu seinem
bleibenden Vermächtnis.
Gemastert und geschnitten von den originalen analogen ¼-Zoll-2-Spur-Masterbändern von Rainer Maillard
und Sidney Claire Meyer in den Emil Berliner Studios.

For the 27th instalment of Big Trouble Records, Cryme steps in with a hypnotic overload of house holiness. Thumping, breakbeat-influenced drum patterns attach to Detroit synths, stabs, and pads.

Ziegelstr. is home to the studio and former headquarters of Berlin-based label Seven, run by Cryme and ultimately the meeting point between Cryme and Big Trouble’s head honcho Andre Zimmer, culminating in Cryme’s release on the label. Throughout its length, The EP nods to Detroit and early UK house whilst planting itself firmly in the core of what Berlin stands for today.

SEVEN's latest release stands as a proper example of how house and techno complement each other. "Saveur de Monbi" exemplifies SEVEN's commitment to blending classic and modern sounds, delivering an EP that is both timeless and fresh. A1 - CRYME x Ben Reymann - WTTD The perfect opening track doesn't exist... "WTTD" stands for "Welcome to the Dancefloor" and sets the tone of this EP. Starting with heavy kicks, syncopated low toms, and hot vocals that ease you into the night, it tells a story about how we can feel and let loose while being on the dancefloor together.

A2 - CRYME x Ben Reymann - Acid Array "Acid Array" is driven by a low-resonant 303 bassline and is supported by ever-evolving atmospheric pads that stretch across the entire track. Simple and sharp hats, along with a powerful clap that cuts through the mix like butter, make up a perfect groove.

B1 - CRYME x Ben Reymann - Midnight Journey "Midnight Journey" is a drum-focused minimalistic track. The reverb-soaked, dreamy pads contrast with the rather rough drums, creating a nostalgic feel that is both sad and happy at the same time.

B2 - CRYME x Ben Reymann - Midnight Journey (Volpe Remix) On the B-side, we are happy to have Argentinian artist Volpe on board with his interpretation of "Midnight Journey." He flipped the track, giving it more drive by adding extra drums and changes in the rhythm structure while keeping the reverb-soaked, dreamy pads from the original. His classic, moody filter sweeps fit perfectly on top.

B3 - CRYME x Ben Reymann - Chordance "Chordance" stands out due to a rather clean mixdown. The playful rhythms of the toms combined with soulful chords as the main element and a big pulsating low end round the EP off with class.

An absolute banger !

Over a decade has passed since this 12" was released, and it has truly aged like fine wine. This release features 2 timeless cuts from the mind and soul of cv313 mixed and recorded near the heart of Detroit. This was beautifully remastered by dub innovator and pioneer, Stefan Betke POLE @ scape mastering in Berlin, DE. The recordings were pulled from the session masters conducted by Bazza @ Alchemy Mastering in London to ensure a perfectly balanced mix and preserving the soul and spirit of the original tape masters while focusing on enriching every finite detail. While listening to these remasters you can feel the analog warmth of the original tape recordings, with a low end rumble in a way only POLE could pull off! On the A side we have cv313's classic "Lost Sequence" culled from the celebrated Japan exclusive "live" double CD album released back in 2009. On the B side there's a rare live version performed by intrusion at a loft event put on by the good folks over @ Little White Earbuds. This rare recording was reduced and stripped down, core traces of the original swim inside oceanic bass and modulated high end frequencies creating an atmosphere all of its own. This is one for the heads and a true lesson in space and bass!

Mit »Glue« zeigen Daily Thompson vor allem, dass sie nicht nur meisterhafte Musiker sind, sondern auch ein tiefes Gespür für Atmosphäre und Emotion haben, vor allem aber für Songwriting.

Ein Ausnahme-Album, das zwischen Melancholie und purer musikalischer Freude den Hörer mitnimmt auf eine Reise vom Nordwesten Amerikas in den Nordwesten Dortmunds. Trotz aller musikalischen Vorbilder wird jedoch die bandeigene DNA niemals vergessen.
