Purple Disco Machine unveils sophomore album ‘Exotica’ in all of its disco glory.
With the release of his debut LP ‘Soulmatic’ released in 2017 via Sweat It Out, Purple Disco Machine gave us the first glimpse of what we could come to expect from the now world renowned producer. Responsible for a multitude of hit singles from the club world including ‘My House’, with the debut LP also birthing the massive successes of ‘Devil In Me’, and ‘Body Funk’.
Now the formidable producer offers a more intimate side to his artistry, inviting us into the world of his sophomore album ‘Exotica’. The LP pays homage to the 80s and the plethora of artists that inspired him to create and set him on the path of becoming the internationally acclaimed producer he is today. The 14 tracker boasts all the elements of his heartfelt favourites throughout the decade - the synth pop from the UK, Italo disco styles of Moroder, Milan & Munich, the funk of Prince, the R&B electro soul of Luther Vandross & Jam & Lewis, to influences from George Michael, and Quincy Jones. Having already released a handful of singles from the LP, including the Sophie and the Giants collab ‘Hypnotized’, ‘Fireworks feat. Moss Kena & The Knocks’, ‘Playbox’ and more recently ‘Dopamine feat. Eyelar’, Purple Disco Machine has quickly gained a mammoth international following eager to hear more. ‘Hypnotized’ became an anthem the world over, having been streamed over 275 million times across platforms, whilst going triple Platinum in Italy, Poland and Switzerland, with the carefree stylings of ‘Fireworks’ quickly following suit with over 80 million streams to date, whilst dominating airwaves across Europe hitting #5 on the overall chart, and #1 across Italy and Germany. The album opens with ‘Can’t Get Enough’ featuring Australian songstress Sahara Beck, and for all his fans across Europe, is the perfect follow on from ‘Hypnotized’- hitting all the same feels as the breakout single. Teaming up with long term collaborator Lorenz Rhodes once again for the release of ‘At The Disko’, the duo have created an instant and lively dance floor heater, incorporating the vocoder as they did previously on ‘Music In You’, and breaking into some seriously heaving piano chords and claps to keep that energy all the way through. ‘Don’t Stop’ is a return to his more traditional club leaning records, likewise, title single ‘Exotica feat. Following through with another mellow jam is the album closer ‘Wanna Feel Like A Lover feat Ed Mac’, which is a true amalgamation of 80s flair even boasting the decade’s trademark sax solo! Moving further outside his contemporary disco template, Tino has teamed up with Ukranian / English duo Bloom Twins on ‘Opposite of Crazy’ colouring their unique blend of alt dark synth pop, with quirky and boisterous squalls of Prince-esque guitar throughout. New Zealand’s jazz luminaries have assembled to form an allstar cluster: The Circling Sun.
Originally formed in mid 2000s, the New Zealand based jazz
collective, are set to release their debut LP Spirits, an eight
track collection that channels the greats of spiritual and
modal jazz and their own unique South Pacific spirit and
sensibility.
The group pay homage to Afro-American genre pioneers
such as Alice Coltrane, Yusef Lateef and Pharoah Sanders,
whilst incorporating a whole lot of love and appreciation
for a myriad of Afro, Latin and contemporary musical forms.
The choir used for the recording is made up of mostly
Pacific Island and Maori singers and artists, an important
acknowledgement of and reflection on their countries own
culture and heritage that seeps into all their work.

Dark, evocative beats engulfed by bold raw vocals: this is
TOTEK, the genre-defying electronic project of Allysha Joy and
Max Dowling.
In their own right, Allysha and Max both lay claim to an
extensive musical prowess: the former as a member of the
internationally-acclaimed nu-soul outfit 30/70 and her equally
revered solo project, the latter as a prolific producer, performer
and collaborator (Client Liaison, NO ZU, Parvyn and countless
others).
Born out of burn out and edging frustration for the pace and
complication of life at times, this collaboration came together
almost immediately. TOTEK found itself in the dark edges,
wanting to punch a little harder and move through it all quickly,
boldly, unafraid in relief. The chemistry held between Max and
Allysha found songs written in mere moments that expressed
something new that neither artist had been able to access
alone.
On face value, the six tracks on ttk.1 could feel musically
divergent: representing different idioms, different tempos and
different themes. Yet they are unified on a more holistic level
through their energy, ethos and character. TOTEK prefers to
view music in this way: what is the overall experience of a
record? Pushing boundaries and eschewing conventions has
been organically at the heart of TOTEK from the beginning. The
process of crafting a record was no different: The artists
intended to create a work that is characterful and unpredictable
yet unified by a throughline of potency and intensity.
TOTEK represents a masterful coming-together of influences: a
blend of multiple electronic idioms with a unique soul sensibility;
channelled through two creatively potent individuals. While their
music conjures shades of Dorian Concept, Jana Rush and
Flying Lotus, ultimately their sound is eclectic, elusive and
unique.

History has proven that when the world is in flames, it ignites the empathetic artists to siren their words, music, and rhythm, to blanket our society"s fury and nurse scorched souls. The seemingly endless years of pandemic lockdown and social distancing, coupled with the turbulent plague of civil unrest and racial injustice, called on Vintage Trouble to step into their battle wear. In February 2017, Midnight Oil announced The Great Circle World Tour from the Sydney Harbour. The tour was the band’s first in over 15 years, commenced in Sydney, travelled to 16 countries, completed 76 performances in six months and concluded at The Domain in November 2017. The performance of their final show at the Domain was recorded and now available on 3 LPs. They performed both their gigantic solo hits, such as “Beds Are Burning” and “Blue Sky Mine”, as fan favourites like “Read About It” and “Only the Strong”. Official reissue of the German psychobilly legend Mad Sin’s 2010 album Burn And Rise. Since their indestructible bandleader Köfte DeVille had gone through some major personal changes, which encouraged him to lose almost 40 kilo grams, the album title is more than adequate. 18 tracks titled like “Last Gang Standing”, “Geisterfahrer (Ghost rider)”, "Wreckhouse Stomp", "The March of the Deviants", "9 Lives" or "Shitlist Bop” promise tension and also a bunch of surprises. The typical Mad Sin mix of psychobilly, rockabilly, 50’s Rock’n’Roll, Country, Punk and Surf sounds fresher than ever before. Featured artists include Sucker (Oxymoron, Bad Co.), Jack Letten (Smoke Blow), Hank (The Boss Hoss) and Marlen (Bonzai Kitten). An outstanding record which gave the band once more the chance to show that they think outside the box and can do a lot more than “just” rockabilly.

The essence of Dame Area – the project of Barcelona-based duo Silvia Kostance and Viktor L. Crux – is formidable, volatile, unpredictable. Yet throughout these highlights and beyond, Dame Area establish their own voice, as vivid derivation becomes transformation and inspirations are redefined.
Dame Area have been accurately described as purveyors of combat music - ‘Música de lucha’ - rather than producers of dance music. This holds true on ‘All the Lies about Dame Area’. However, their sense of contention here is expansive and dynamic. ‘All the Lies about Dame Area’ is a record of tension and surprise, where the distinction between melody and abstraction is thrillingly undetermined. A provocative record for the here and now, which proves Dame Area are never easily contained.

Fuchsia was formed by a group of Exeter University students. They were Tony Durant (previously of psych band Louise) on acoustic/electric guitars and vocals; Michael Day on bass and Michael Gregory on drums plus the three-piece classical ensemble of Vanessa Hall-Smith (violin, backing vocals); Janet Rogers (violin, backing vocals) and Madeleine Bland (cello, piano, harmonium, backing vocals). Signed to Pegasus Records (the “progressive” branch of B&C Records), Fuchsia recorded their self-titled album at Sound Techniques studio with producer David Hitchcock (Caravan, Mellow Candle, Genesis, Camel…) The main inspiration for the album was Tony Durant’s readings of Marvyn Peakes gothic novels such a Titus Groan and its fictional character Lady Fuchsia Groan.
Like some of their contemporaries (Comus, Mellow Candle…) Fuchsia only started gaining recognition in the following decades, thanks to fans of obscure psychedelic folk.

Loupe sind Julia Korthouwer (Gesang, Keybord - sie/ihre), Jasmine van der Waals (Gitarre - they/them), Lana Kooper (Bass - sie/ihre) und Annemarie van der Born (Schlagzeug - sie/ihre). Fu?r die Band fällt mit ihrer viel beachteten, ersten Single 'Leave Me There' plötzlich alles an seinen richtigen Platz. Loupe veröffentlichen zwei fantastische EPs - 'Older' (2021) und 'Spring '19' (2022) - und erspielen sich den Ruf einer beeindruckenden Live-Band. So werden sie gleich zweimal hintereinander zum Eurosonic Festival eingeladen und begleiten Bands wie Porridge Radio, Moss oder Lovejoy.
Nun veröffentlichen Loupe ihr Debütalbum 'Do You Ever Wonder What Comes Next?'. Darauf betrachten sie das Erwachsenwerden aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven. Die Stücke erzählen von Selbstermächtigung, von der Suche nach dem eigenen Weg und einem eigenen Platz. Was die Band antreibt, ist das "Was kommt als Nächstes?" in der großen Frage, die der Albumtitel aufmacht; die ständige Bewegung, um diesen Silberstreifen über den Horizont hinaus zu jagen: unablässig auf der Suche nach Mut, Trost und Abenteuer im ruhelosen Jetzt.
