Recorded when Johnny Walker was touring Worldwide with Veteran Jazz Star Lionel Hampton in 1982 and originally released on his own Private Press label: Walk On Productions.

This neglected underground classic LP has been off the radar since then except for the appearance of "Dipping" on the Kev Beadle ‎– Private Collection (Independent Jazz Sounds From The Seventies And Eighties) compilation on BBE Records.

Almost unknown and unjustly negected, it's a funk drenched jazz journey with some crunchy fat beats laid down by the excellent rhythm section complementing Johnny Walkers cool horn stylings.

Reminiscent of the albums of that early Jazz Dance era by Tom Browne and Rahmlee but with less of a commercial edge and wholly instrumental this is Funky Jazz that has not dated and sounds like it was fresh out of the studio in 2022.

Funk all the way on "Dipping" and "Dirkie" while "Arrival" is one for the Jazz Dancers.

Re-issue of this Italo disco rarity from the year 1986. Side A contains the two rare original versions and as a highlight we present on side B two new and exclusive remixes by the Italo Disco legends Flemming Dalum and George Hysteric.

In the Detmold area (Westphalia, Germany), there wasn‘t much going on for metal fans in the first half of the eighties. Fortunately, the members of two bands met in 1982 in a chip shop and recognized their common preference for hard music by their long hair, leather jackets and moustaches, which were good manners at that time. In this moment SACRAFICE were born, who subsequently became local heroes - of course influenced by the NWOBHM that was just spilling over into Germany, but also by the usual suspects like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rainbow or Kiss, as well as Judas Priest and the early Accept.

Two unusual choices were made at once: In the spirit of Def Leppard or Led Zeppelin, the band name was deliberately changed - i.e. NOT Sacrifice, but Sacrafice. And they decided not to make the typical demo tape, but a 12“ EP on their own. This one is called „The First Experience WIth The Unknown“ and can be bought here and now on Discogs for 120 Euro and more used.... But already the book „Heavy Metal Made In Germany“, which was published in the nineties via Iron Pages, lists the record as „Top German Metal Rarity“.
No wonder, because the quite aggressive heavy rock and metal knows how to please even today - or maybe especially today - and reminds us of the upbeat mood of the German metal scene in the first
half of the eighties. This is also true for the three live tracks, which have been elaborately restored in days of work.

Another house number are the tracks of the follow-up band TranQuilL
(that‘s right, that‘s the correct spelling). The mostly overlong songs can be classified as heavy prog. Due to various circumstances these pearls remained (as good as) unreleased. Again, a lot of time and work was invested in restoring and mastering these private studio recordings (there are six long TranQuill songs on the CD version, while there was only room for two tracks on the LP, without losing sound quality).

The tenth volume of Numero's elaborately packaged Cabinet of Curiosities series, L80s finds the group exploring the far-flung corners of the global downtempo underground. This 12-song mix tape weaves icy hot coldwave, Sausalito seafood jazz, Glaswegian goth, makeshift Madonna, Sade spoofs, and Brat Pack balearic into a high-waisted, party-ready pair of danceable denim.

Eben neuzeitlicher Psychedelic Rock mit einem konstant primitiven Beat, der den Spirit der 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS und der frühen STONES wieder aufleben ließ.

CREEPING DEATH befinden sich auf einem schnellen und rasanten Aufstieg aus dem Untergrund.Die texanische Death-Metal-Crew liefert immer wieder ein unerbittliches Geknüppel, das aus den entlegensten Winkeln der Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft des Genres stammt. Bush Tetras have made punk music at the fringes for over four decades. Flashes of reggae, bursts of noise, guitars that rattle, shake and snake, born out of a gutter behind CBGBs. Over the years they have respawned time and time again, contorting their sound, tweaking the vision, remaining singular and indispensable. In the late 2010s the group-Pat Place, Cynthia Sley, and Dee Pop-reformed again, releasing an EP, Take the Fall, in 2018. It was their first offering of new music in over a decade. A few years later in, 2021, they released a career spanning box set called Rhythm and Paranoia. The New York Times called the box set an artifact that "proves for decades that Bush Tetras continued to evolve in surprising yet intuitive directions." Around the same time, the band began working on a full length record, writing sessions during the pandemic over Zoom. Right before the release of the box set, beloved drummer Dee Pop passed away. Determined to complete the record to honor his memory, the Tetras went into the studio to finish what they'd started, once the timing was right. They brought in a new drummer, Sonic Youth's Steve Shelley, who also served as producer. Enter They Live in My Head. The band's 3rd official LP (a misleading fact when viewed along - side a catalog as expansive as it is influential), They Live in My Head is a collection of songs that sometimes reflect on the past and sometimes reckon with our current reality. From "Ghosts of People," on which Pat Place's legendary guitar meanders through closed doors and portals, to the scorching "2020 Vision," a matter- of-fact call to arms to get on the streets and get something done, the album addresses new and old, in both abstract and specific terms. But whether they're looking forward or backward, Bush Tetras have always been a political band, a band that calls out all kinds of bullshit. And, in that sense, They Live in My Head is absolutely no exception.

Celebrating the 20 year anniversary of highly revered Jazz collective, Build An Ark from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2003 and releasing albums between 2004 and 2010, the Carlos Niño co-ordinated project included contributions from luminaries such Phil Ranelin, Big Black, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Adam Rudolph, Derf Reklaw (R.I.P.), Dexter Story, Dwight Trible, Gaby Hernandez, Mia Doi Todd, Munyungo Jackson, Nate Morgan (R.I.P.) Waberi Jordan, Avotcja & many more.

This set was compiled by band leader Carlos Niño with recordings from 2001 to 2008 that have previously been released on Kindred Spirits.

Something was brooding in the furthest outskirts of Amsterdam. The isolated concrete suburbs of the western part of the city constituted the ideal dwelling place for the writing of De Ambassade's debut album Duistre Kamers. Pascal Pinkert, accompanied by bass player Timothy Francis, searched for new horizons and managed to find them on this next chapter in the evolution of De Ambassade. Icy electronics display a love for NDW, ragas and raves. Beneath the surface lies a deeper Dutch language narrative celebrating free speech and thought, starkly in opposition with a world where alienation and solitude create ever more distance between all beings.
After releasing two, by now classic 7" ep's, a long player will shine brightly. The album release will feature a long awaited live performance with additional band member Mian.

First LP from Donna Candy, the bass-vocal-drums trio trawled from the sub genres of experimental rock and busy pushing to the front of heavy music. Nu metal bass riffs, switch-pitched fuzz vocals and big, splashy drums layer over unsettling narratives and extreme loops to bring a bit of the pit to the dancefloor.

Begun as an off the cuff party band with the idea of finding a live sound that would fit between 4am trance sets, the trio soon found themselves addicted to the euphoric sludge they created. Swapping their usual guitar for a bass, JS Donny drives Donna Candy with simple riffs, split half clean and half shredded with Boris / Sunn O))) like distortion. Head-banging the whole way, they’ll switch speed or stop suddenly, bending and drawing out notes to ratchet things up for release. Nadja's vocals tear through the top layer - heavily processed and warped with weird imagery. Together there’s a feeling of what it might be like to see Sightings slowed by codeine but with Elvin Brandi on the mic.

Always set up facing each other, off stage and surrounded by the audience, Donna Candy encourage catharsis - reciprocally transforming energy between themselves and the crowd. They build a queer euphoria that pulls apart metal’s narrow dichotomy of nihilistic machismo vs. hyperfemininity, and begins to make the visceral faux-hybridity of nineties nu metal feel possible this time around. ‘Blooming’ brings us six offerings from the band on a four way split release that speaks for itself - once on board with the DC energy you’ll want to be a part of it.

Tel Aviv-based musician Eyal El Wahab uses homemade instrumentation, often made from repurposed household items and discarded junk, for his latest El Khat album Saadia Jefferson, which deconstructs Arabic musical traditions and examines his identity as a Yemeni Jew living in Israel.

Das gesamte Album, jeden einzelnen Teil, von den Chord Progressions bis hin zu den String Arrangements, so Chatten, konnte er mit einem Mal hören. Bei einem windgepeitschten Nachtspaziergang entlang des Stoney Beach, dreißig Meilen nördlich von Dublin. Er arbeitete die Songs mit der Gitarre aus und nahm erste Demos auf, ganz alleine. 'Chaos For The Fly' handelt von Isolation und Verletzlichkeit. Vom Verlust des Glaubens an die Menschheit. Und an sich selbst. Die Songs haben meist einen dunklen Unterton und strahlen doch eine berauschende Stärke aus. Chatten verarbeitet auf dem Album schmerzliche Emotionen, Geschichten aus seinem Leben und verpackt sie auf eindrucksvolle Art und Weise in seine bisher wohl poetischsten Texte.

Koproduziert hat wie auch schon die Alben seiner Band der langjährige Fontaines D.C. Produzent Dan Carey.

Formed in Cardiff, Sock make guitar-driven alternative rock, taking inspiration from psychedelic music. Known for their creative melodic arrangements and blending of genres, the band describe their music as “a rather progressive affair”.

Following on from the bands debut album ‘Fresh Bits’, in 2018, this is Sock’s much anticipated self-titled follow up. The album features Jacob on Rhythm Guitar & Vocals, Billy on Lead Guitar, Sam on Bass & Keys, and Simon on Drums & Percussion. Produced by the band, the album was recorded during the pandemic and sees the music move into a heavier and more refined sound.

Im Anschluss an ihr Debüt-Release erscheint ein Lebenszeichen von Sometimes With Others in Form einer 7" Vinyl-Single, gerade rechtzeitig zu Ihrer Tournee im Mai 2023. Die zwei grossartigen Tracks Untitled und Know It knüpfen nahtlos an das hochgelobte Debüt NOUS an. Das dronig treibende Element der A-Seite Untitled bohrt sich tief in den Cortex des Hörers und lässt ihn nicht mehr los. Und auf der B-Seite Know It lässt das Ensemble keinen Zweifel, dass sie schon immer wussten wie es geht.

Das vierte Album der Clark Sisters für Westbound-Sublabel Sound Of Gospel ist jenes, das sie fest in den Crossover-Markt gedrängt hat. Obwohl die Clark Sisters eine der meistverkauften Gospelgruppen aller Zeiten sind, ist dies die erste LP-Neuauflage von 'He Gave Me Nothing To Lose' seit seiner Erstveröffentlichung im Jahr 1979.

Es ist keine Überraschung, dass der liminale Raum ein Schlüsselelement in der nächsten Phase des vierten Albums von The Devil's Trade ist, "Vidékek vannak idebenn" (ein Titel, der frei übersetzt "There Are Landscapes Within" bedeutet). Ace Records freut sich, mit Singer-Songwriter, Ex-Pulp-Tour-Gitarrist und Sheffield-Legende Richard Hawley an diesem ersten Teil einer Compilation-Reihe mit von Hawley ausgewählten Lieblingssingles zusammenzuarbeiten. Dies ist eine Auswahl von 28 7inch-Singles, die Hawley auf seinen Tourneen gesammelt hat: Secondhand-Shop-Funde, Kneipen-Jukebox-Juwelen und alles dazwischen. Hawley bezeichnet den Klebstoff, der diese Auswahl zusammenhält, als "Little Bangers", da es sich bei allen um Mini-Handgranaten handelt; helle Lichter, die explodieren und verpuffen, einige große Namen, einige Raritäten, einige verlorene Seelen, einige Obskuritäten, einige von Künstlern, von denen er fast nichts weiß, außer dass sie ihn zum Tanzen bringen wollen. Viele sind Garagen-Instrumentals mit Gitarrenlinie als Lead-Melodie und der Kunst, eine Geschichte ohne Text zu erzählen. Eine 7inch-Single kann nur eine limitierte Menge an musikalischer Info enthalten - es muss knallen. The Shadows, Link Wray, The Troggs, The Champs, Jimmy Gordon und viele mehr zeigen wie das funktioniert. This album, entitled "Walimizi" will be composed of three original tracks: "Tseki", "Tsindzaka" and "Laisse-moi danser" by Sarera x Blanc Manioc, as well as four remixes by well-known artists of the pan-African electronic music scene: Cornelius Doctor & Tushen Raï, Deena Abdelwahed, PANGAR and Praktika! All these artists are close to the Blanc Manioc and Kayamba collectives, and have already come to Mayotte for the festival. They will be considerable assets to increase the international visibility of the project.


Also, a remix contest will be organized and open to anyone living on the island or originating from the island in order to select a remix created by an artist from Mayotte that will be integrated into the fnal online album.
