Following the extraordinary outings of his 2010 debut 12s on Phantasy Sound ('Summertime Our League' / 'Havai'), and an album and mini album in 2009/11 respectively ("Weekend' / 'Preparing a Voice to Meet the People Coming") on Perdizes Dream/Glue Moon, Sao Paolo based Babe, Terror returns with 'Knights EP' his visionary take on modern sampleapsychedelica or wdm (wrong dance music) as he describes it, composed 'under the influence of the cadence of life' This heady stew of unsettling aural landscapes and lush, cinematic stories, have earned him the admiration of The New Yorker, Said the Gramophone, The Guardian, Coke Machine Glow and Uncut as well as the likes of Arto Lindsay, Four Tet, James Holden. 'Knights EP' invites the intrepid listener to experience Babe, Terror's deepest visions to date - 34 minutes of raw primitive drum machine beats colliding with a wild-collage of samples, hymnal vocal chants, swooning reversed guitars slathered in hiss, and slurring keyboards... Collecting and joining sounds together with no pretentions, BT plays with his voice, fx pedals and presets until he arrives at a place full of trippy forms, spectres and creatures - a decompositive micro-symphony. His self confessed love for the spirit of early techno and house, punk and harsh-lo-fi, leads him to place an emphasis on the rawness of sounds, as well as remaining an 'amateur' in his creative process: 'i see myself as a musical mental traveler than a producer or composer. I make music as Babe, Terror because i always wanted to be The Beatles of my apartment.' 'WINGS' is taken from THE INVISIBLE's album 'RISPAH', and comes with an exquisite remix from Floating Points !
While the lead track from Mercury Nominated indie-electronic mopey types The Invisible is a goodun, our money's on the phenomenal remix from the ever on-form Floating Points. Taking the crunchy drum-machine rhythm, tape hiss and guitar jangle from the original, Sam Shepherd reconfigures the track into a near eight-minute opium opus, whimsical synths and all. Funnily enough Dave Okumu's haunting vocals sound even more focused here as Shepherd tranforms them into a ghostly memory, reframing them as a complex recollection of loss. It's harrowing and beautiful stuff

While his debut album 'By Your Side"'s release was announced for September the 17th, Breakbot introduces the fruity 'One Out Of Two' featuring the faithful vocal performer, Irfane, embellished with remixes from DJ Sneak, Oliver and Get A Room!. The french TV show, Le Grand Journal, selected this track as the sound signature for the Cannes Festival. The vinyl includes also 'Program", a tiny biscuit sound, unveiled online on the occasion of his first live performance at the Coachella Festival. Breakbot's shiny funky pop will rock 2012's summer, waiting for the album and next live shows in festivals (Calvi, Dour, Les Vieilles Charues, We Love Green...).

Schon ab dem beinahe klassischen Gitarrenintro des einleitenden, grüblerischen Songs ‚The Aftermath', wird deutlich, dass ‚Darkling, Listen' ein ganz anders klangliches Tier ist, als die intime, vorwiegend akustische ‚Affaire' ihres Debüt-Albums 'Reverence for Fallen Trees.' In 23 Minuten und 23 Sekunden enthält ‚Darkling' fünf detailliert ausgearbeitete Songs mit einem weiten Terrain an Elementen und Einflüssen, von Folkrock der Siebziger bis zu im Stile von Phil Spector orchestriertem Kammerpop und Motown-Soul-Stimmungen der Sechziger.

'Punk 103 is a song from the album Ring n'Roll, released in 2011, May the 2nd. This track was written and composed by Catherine Ringer, set to music by herself, Mark Kerr, and RZA Stone Mecca's musicians. The b-side of this vinyl is an exclusive acoustic live version recorded during a Jean-Paul Gaultier's private show.

The five songs offer a wide array of elements and in fluences, from Phil Spector-esque orchestrated chamber pop to 60's Motown soul sensibilities. It also takes informed cues from current indie epitomes such as Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver.

From the near classical guitar intro of the opening, brooder-song "The Aftermath", it is clear that 'Darkling, I Listen' is a much different sonic animal than the intimate, and mostly acoustic, affair of The Black Atlantic's debut album 'Reverence for Fallen Trees.' Clocking in at 23 minutes and 23 seconds, 'Darkling' contains five fully sculpted songs with a wide array of elements and influences, from 70's psychedelic folk-rock to Phil Spector-esque orchestrated chamber pop and 60's Motown soul sensibilities. It also takes informed cues from current indie epitomes such as Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver. The Black Atlantic wears these influences on its sleeve without sounding inauthentic. 'Darkling I, Listen' is an immersive listening experience, rustic and pastoral, but without the obvious pretty embellishments. It is impressionistic in its scope, full of wide-open vistas and cavernous sonic swells.

The 4 track 'EP' is taken from the forthcoming album 'This Is PiL' released on May 28th. Both the new EP and album is self-funded by PiL and will be released on PiL's own label 'PiL Official' via Cargo UK Distribution. All the new material was recorded in the UK last year at Steve Winwood's studio in the Cotswolds. PiL were recently confirmed as special guests at BBC Radio 6 birthday celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London March 16th where they will be performing live, including some new tracks. With their show at The Brighton Concorde on August 16th sold out, a second date has been added at the venue on August 15th. Lead track 'One Drop' from the EP of the same name was given an exclusive airing by Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6 show last week. John Lydon describes the track as- 'One Drop is a reflection of where I grew up in Finsbury Park , London . The area that shaped me, and influenced me culturally and musically, a place I will forever feel connected to. But within this I am also saying it doesn't matter where you come from, we all go through the same emotions especially the disenchanted youth of today, yesterday and the future. Bearing in mind the Olympics are in London this year and who knows what that could bring for London and our country....'

For Citizens! aesthetics in music is all-important - 'pop is not a dirty word' they proclaim.

"We had this vision of the songs we wanted to write, and it was all about making pop music that was imaginative, exciting and interesting - rather than simple, ugly and horrible,' explains lead singer Tom Burke.

And so after signing to French label Kitsuné they set about following their 'manifesto' and began recording their debut album in the wilds of Scotland, a process that proved to be a little unorthodox.

"We had a strict set of rules that we forced ourselves to abide by, One was we weren't allowed to do any studio trickery, so there's no autotune or correcting mistakes or anything on the record. And then there was the idea that no element of any given song was allowed to sound as if it came from the same place. So the main idea behind 'True Romance' was, 'Kanye West producing an Arcade Fire song'. Or maybe it's the other way round... But it's the thing of doing what people least expect but making it sound addictive and exciting."

The end of last year saw the band support The Rapture and more recently they played the Electric Ballroom in London as part of the NME's run of Award show gigs.

Claremont 56 are back for the new year with this awesome 12' from
Paqua. This new and authentically live outft are made up of Bing Ji Ling
(Phenomenal Handclap Band), Alex Searle and Paul 'Mudd' Murphy and
featuring Patrick Dawes (Groove Armada) on percussion.
On side-A's 'Dinosaur' they turn out a fuggy bass laden, driving, stoner
anthem with sweet vocals from Bing riding over a swirl of synths, wigged
out FX guitar and a chugging bottom end. This sounds like the seedy end of
Laurel Canyon; a beautiful, sluggish midtempo bomb.
Over on the fip-side the quality doesn't let up with 'The Visitor', a subtle
rolling groove that immediately puts you on a beach. Beautiful bass
fourishes give way to a laid back lead guitar, it all builds around another fne
vocal performance from Bing, who settles into the lazy groove and delivers
the positive vibes as the track rolls along into a blissfully languid ofering.
Summer 2012 is on the way, Paqua are by the waterside already...

every turn on this 5 track 12" shows something different from the band. album track 'how small we are' shows their signature atmospheric sound, pushed further with african percussion, multiple choirs and heavier synths. then there's 'mysterons' - their take on the opening track from portishead's 'dummy' album. it's almost unrecognizable, reconstructing it into a synth-ed out new wave party jam. there's two heavyweight mixes as well from shangaan electro and the mighty Moodymann.

Nozinja and nurse Matlala of South Africa's shangann electro scene took pollyn's catchy, all-about-the-bassline track 'how small we are' and made it even more thrilling by adding new vocals and doubling its length.

Finally the cherry on the cake is the Moodymann remix of Sometimes You Just Know'.
Some say this is one of his finest mixes in years and we have to agree, keeping the song intact he adds some of his drum know-how and detroit funk to turn the original into a total dancefloor destroyer
