The debut album I SPLIT MY ORGAN IN TWOS by Munich indie project plainhead is a freak folk inspired rockrecord fusing key aspects of 00s experimental indie with 90s indie rock.
The organic soundscapes remind of yetto-be-refined the Microphones from the album It Was Hot, We Stayed in the Water (2000). Acoustic Guitars fuse with the sound of fuzz and distortion. Clarinets and pianos can be found somewhere buried beneath the noise,
while the vocals remain dry and tired in the front. The 18-track double LP features easy-listenable songs such as the single Ghost / Smoke, short playful instrumentals named after animals and long ever-evolving operas such as River and Sunsick. The album was released on Munich local DIY recording label new basement.

Unmittelbar und kompromisslos zeigt es Royal Blood von ihrer kraftvollsten Seite. Die Band ergänzt: „Nachdem wir den Motor von Royal Blood für ein paar Jahre im Leerlauf hatten, haben wir die Drehzahl wieder hochgejagt und spielen mit diesem Album schneller und härter denn je. Geschrieben und aufgenommen mit Blick auf die Bühne, können wir es kaum erwarten, die Songs jahrelang live zu spielen.“ Der erste enthüllte Track, „Ten Over Ten“, ist ein bedrohliches Wüstenrock-Monster im Stil von Motörhead. Text und Vibe wurden dadurch inspiriert, dass der Frontmann für einen Marathon trainierte – es dreht sich somit alles um Ausdauer und das Überwinden der eigenen Grenzen.

In autumn 2025, chest. began recording their debut album at La Frette studio, known for having hosted sessions by Nick Cave and the Arctic Monkeys. The band, with a line-up featuring three sound engineers, self-produced the album there and opened themselves up to new inspirations without, however, straying from the powerful and melodic noise rock of their early days. Their sound becomes even more complex and personalised, revealing perfectly assimilated influences from industrial, techno and shoegaze. chest. embodies the future figurehead of a French rock scene that is no longer afraid of anything.
