In 1995 The Pump Panel (Tim Taylor and Dan Zamani) were commissioned by FFRR/London Records to Redux their choice of any New Order track. They selected the 1983 electro track “Confusion” and transformed it into a stunning 10 minute Acid Journey dominated by a distorted and unforgettable 303 Bassline. It was that Killer Acid Riff that has driven this unique story ever since.



Released on FFRR in 1995 “Confusion” (Pump Panel Re-construction Mix) was an instant club hit Worldwide and especially in the Los Angeles Party Scene. It was in LA in 1996 when Wesley Snipes witnessed the track played several times to huge responses and then licensed it personally to his upcoming Blade Movie.



In August 1998 Blade was released in cinemas and went to Number 1 on the US Box Office chart. The opening scene that featured over 4 minutes of “Confusion” propelling the vampire club blood sequence was described in the Los Angeles Times as “The coolest opening to a Movie ever”.



From that point onwards Blade and “Confusion” achieved Iconic status, it was unprecedented for a pumping acid track to be so heavily and famously used in a blockbuster movie.

The legend of “Confusion” and that frenzied opening scene has taken on a life of its own and the long deleted vinyl version is being re-mastered and re-released on Tim Taylor’s Missile Vintage label…This will coincide with the new 4K Ultra release of Blade The Movie in December 2020.

Over a period of seventeen years, Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels has evolved into a world-renowned institution, garnering global audiences thanks to a consistent schedule of quality releases. Quintessential to the label’s success is the Spirits series, with each edition acting as a musical bastion to showcase the talents of both established and breakthrough artists alike. Now, after much anticipation, the world-renowned compilation will see the light of day once more in the form of Spirits IV, the fourth instalment in Spirits’ ever-evolving saga. The A-side kicks off with Alex Kennon and Pete Tong’s Apache with a stirring intensity, gently winding between spirit-infused vocals and resonant kick-hat combos. Swiftly followed by Crosstown Rebels regular Made By Pete making his Spirits debut with a tribal-laced mystic number in the form of Harar.

The B-side features I See Colour, the latest collaboration from UK-native Luke Brancaccio and long-standing production partner Cypherpunx. Whilst Martin Badder and Pablo:Rita’s stunning collaboration, Phase, soon arrives in its place, rippling with a gentle lucidity thanks to a subtle four-four bassline and mesmeric singing tones.

Matador’s Vultur is up next, a straight-talking dancefloor cut that showcases the Rukus-founder at his best, whilst veteran German producer DJ Linus gives us the penultimate track on Vibes In Space. Indicative of the track’s progression, we are taken on a celestial journey through starry-eyed synths and soft whispering hats.

Echoe-founder Francesca Lombardo showcases her decade-long production experience in Freak On Sea, providing a dubby-leaning club cut that features progressive key changes throughout before ANTS regular Andrea Oliva takes no prisoners on Rawman, serving up a near six-minute cut of pummeling kicks that build into a brooding synth-fuelled crescendo.

Alan Fitzpatrick returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with the ‘Immortal Daydream’ in January.

Following 2020’s ‘Step Away’ on Rekids, as well as multiple releases on heavy-duty labels such as Drumcode, Hotflush, and of course his own We Are The Brave, Alan Fitzpatrick returns in full techno mode for his second appearance on the imprint in 2021 with an EP of crushing, hypnotic, and uncompromising techno.

Classic 909 kits and spacey reverberations take front and centre across the record, neatly displayed on lead track ‘Everlasting’, which kicks off proceedings by rumbling through a series of sizzling effects and dubbed-out chords. ‘Titan Silence’ follows with reserved synths built delicately around thunderous and attention- grabbing drums; a track built for dark cavernous rooms.

On the flip, ‘Droid Disco’ sees the Southampton powerhouse look to the twilight hours, as off-kilter synths wriggle and evolve throughout, leading into the closing track ‘The Underdog’, which sees Fitzpatrick delve further into the night, combining crunchy drums with soft, elegant synthesis to close off a memorable 12” on a quintessential label.

The third release on the Viennese Techno label is a 3-tracker by Buffered Multiple.

Delsin are pleased to gather together some of the highlights from the rich and varied catalogue of Manchester-based producer Claro Intelecto. From his earliest works on Ai Records through a prolific run on Modern Love to his more recent outings on Delsin, Mark Stewart has continually presented a vision of electronic music that uses the Detroit blueprint as a launch pad for his own distinctive strain of techno. Moving from elegant beauty to rabid intensity while grounded by a firm sense of rhythm, his catalogue runs deep and wide. The second volume in this expansive compilation series filters out select highlights from across his discography, and reframes them as a compelling overview of a truly distinctive voice in modern electronic music.

The Panda Men were an ancient warrior cult, fabled to roam the deep African forests in search of the elixer Bonfirma which would grant them super human strength, allowing them to transform into Pandas and thus continue their bloody reign. This classic early Legowelt is finally back in print for the first time in 13 years, celebrating Creme's 20th birthday!

Censor Music welcomes London Modular Alliance with four original tracks from key member Phil Ventre and a remix from Censor Music boss Alex Jann.

The record opens with title track Glass Cannon - a paranoid and spatial electro bleeper. Jann elevates the dystopian feels with some bang in his Corrupt Data Mix, working some wigged-out mechanics up into this kicking dance floor mover.

On the other side Ventre plays with beat constructions having full on fun with his creativity. Lo-slung drums and floating synth stabs open up Mom’s Knife before it builds into a pacey shuffler. Super Hang On launches off tumbling, cut-up amen’s which land on a jumpy kick and dirging bassline. Low Swung shows off Ventre’s beat programming at his most syncopated and frantic, a neat ending for this varied release from a modular synth expert.

Dublin based Nice & Nasty is back in the vinyl business after 9 years of digital inertia.

It does so with a carefully pondered package, relying on an ever tightening musical bond between the Netherlands and south Italy. Domino 12' is a split EP between the emerging Italian talent PLAN86, who is a man of mystery and dutch legend Orlando Voorn, plus a signature Artwork by the one and only Alan Oldham.

Side A's opener gives the name to the release, and exemplifies the trippy, synth-oriented kind of Techno that defines this rising producer and won him so many fans within the industry.

The remix by Voorn, under the Basic Bastard guise, syncopates the synth patterns, while slowing the general tempo, but it's side B's first track, Audio Unit:Phase 1' that brings the smile and makes one notice why it's so good to have long time veterans on your side. This track is the way Techno should be, if you praise the origins: funky, funky, funky.

Strings of today' is possibly a homage to the Rhythim is Rhythim anthem and you'd wish it was the trend in today's Techno scene: the progression, the less is more' philosophy of channel build-up... Is it possible to clone Orlando Voorn If anyone of you out there knows how, please get in contact.'

Radio Slave returns to his Rekids label with ‘Live My Life’, including a remix from Saved Records’ boss Nic Fanciulli.

Responsible for some of the most recognisable vocal tracks in techno for the past 15 years, Radio Slave’s latest sees him turn in yet another tough, infectious cut that uses soulful vocal refrains as hooks. Airtight, rolling grooves have been a prominent feature in much of Radio Slave’s work, and ‘Live My Life’ is no different, paired with occasionally overlapping vocals it’s a masterclass in tension and release.

On the flip, Grammy-nominated and globally renowned DJ and producer Nic Fanciulli cleverly reinterprets Edwards’ original, in a version that sees a pulsing, offbeat bassline and ever-evolving drums drive the track towards vocal crescendos throughout. Stirring, memorable, and yet another outstanding release from one of dance music’s finest.

German duo Raumakustik are next up on Hot Creations with Animal / Waves, a stunning two track release that features a re-edit from label frontman Jamie Jones.

Animal starts proceedings, as a bouncing reverberating kick gives way to a synth-filled build up. An echoing vocal sample states “acid feel”, before hitting once again with a choppy, swinging bassline. Next up, Jamie Jones delivers a re-edit of Waves, featuring tinny hi-hats, hollow pops and a bouncing arcade build up that is guaranteed to cause a stir on any dancefloor.

Having released their Raider EP on sub-label Hot Trax and Dem A Pree on Emerald City, Raumakustik make their first appearance on Hot Creations. Respected producers in the house and techno scenes, they have also released on the likes of Suara, Toolroom and Microtonal Records. Jamie Jones is someone who needs little introduction. Founder of Hot Creations as well as the Paradise event series, there are few feats left for the Welshman to conquer. Countless esteemed releases coupled with a passion-lead vision have seen Jones become a true master of his craft.

Salt Mines / Life Sciences Division label-head Rudolf C joins Craigie Knowes for both party's first EP of the year. "Gamma!" hits hard across 4-tracks spanning acid, futuristic garage, and peak-time rollers. This is the first coming together of label and artist in the form of an EP - following on from Rudolf C's stellar contribution to the latest release in the label's War Child Fundraiser VA series.

The raves at Same Bitches have not changed much since back in March 2014 at OHM, Berlin. Every second month on the first Saturday at noon sharp the residents Handmade, Ron Wilson, Derek Plaslaiko, VCO and Manuela Mayoral play each a three hour set and after everyone is through the Dj who warmed up goes into the next round continuing the running order with the usual ending in a full on back-to-back orgy. The occasional special guest never gets announced, it is mainly the same bitches in charge.

Inspired by the raw sound of Detroit Techno, the crew have quickly gained underground praise over the years for their liberal queer atmosphere and no compromise after-hour excessive "last raver standing" attitude. Running at least 24 hours up until even 36 hours the raves have no dull moments bringing everyone into euphoria and exhaustion. Hard bouncy house and groovy techno with a lot of acid drive the dancers through the day and night... and day.

After seven years it has come to the point of expanding the realm and the crew decided on releasing a record. The tracks of the first Same Bitches record featuring Handmade, VCO, Ron Wilson and Derek Plaslaiko represent their diverse yet homogenous sound of the parties and arrive just on time for their anniversary in March. Hopefully soon the party can continue and we can all enjoy the music and dance together again...

Boston's Dana Kelley aka Callisto is a man whose music has long been the subject of much deserved adulation. A student of the deep and soulful, an explorer of the melodic and galactic, and an artist who manages to capture imaginations with his supremely crafted sonics. He is a much missed artist, someone who departed the physical too early, but the body of work he left behind has spoken to generations of listeners, DJ's and fans in equal measure.

This, the first of 3 compilations based around his golden period of productions for the legendary Chicago label Guidance Recordings, sees some of Dana's most highly coveted work featured side by side, all together in one place. A celebration of the man's music, his vision and the forward looking nature of his music that is still intact today. It's hard to think of someone with a more unique style and with a truer idea of their own sound-world. Callisto takes us deep inside, into other worlds with his own individualistic take on house, techno, ambient and even jungle and D&B.

These compilations celebrate one of the most idiosyncratic artists from the second wave of US house music producers, a truly essential body of work presented here respectfully, sourced from all audio sources courtesy of Above Board Projects, Guidance Recordings and Dana's family. Hector & David Gtronic join forces once again on the sixth installment from the Tervisio series. German label Bondage Music delivers the six instalment of its ‘Bondage Games’ series. Another vinyl only release, this time with four fresh tracks from Markus Homm, Andre Kronert, Pornbugs and Dust Yard.

Rekids label boss Radio Slave ventures further into unknown territory in a three-part sophomore album entitled ‘Radio Silence’ with the first instalment dropping in June.

Stretching nearly two decades, Matt Edwards’s discography is staggering with releases on labels like Running Back, R&S, Ostgut Ton, Nonplus and Figure, not to mention his illustrious imprint Rekids which has been instrumental in supporting the music and careers of incendiary artists over the years, including Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, DJ Deep, Nic Fanciulli, Peggy Gou, Laurent Garnier, Spencer Parker and many more.

Although he’s released multiple albums under different guises it was only until 2017 that the debut Radio Slave album, ‘Feel The Same’, was released. Now, the renowned UK artist delivers his latest body of work in the form of his ‘Radio Silence’ album, which will be dropping in not one, but three parts.

The first chapter features perhaps the most leftfield tracks we’ve ever heard Radio Slave product, even hitting 150BPM on closing track ‘SYD’. There’s a rawness to the album, which is in part due to the fact each track was recorded live and without edits using hardware and Ableton as the main sequencer.

Across the seven tracks, Radio Slave hone’s in on a sound that’s haunting and hypnotic. Opening track ‘Ghost’ is punctuated by lingering synths, while ‘Cell’ introduces pummelling kicks that will do damage on a big system. ‘Contact’ bleeps and glitches before making way for blaring horn-like synths, and ‘ZQU’ is a masterclass in mind-bending techno. Elsewhere, closing track ‘SYD’ delivers on every level, thanks to uncompromising 150BPM realness.

Kuldaboli returns to bbbbbb records, this time with a 6-track EP on which his idiosyncratic sound of icy, cryptic electro fully emerges. BBB015 being the second release of Kuldaboli on bbbbbb records is destined to be a historical release for the Icelandic dance music scene and a very important one for Kuldaboli’s legacy. The EP title ‘Ekkert nema ískaldur veruleikinn’ roughly translates to “nothing but the ice cold reality” and that is exactly what is delivered across the six tracks laden with poetic lyrics and spoken word.

In the opening track ‘Ég er bara ég’ Kuldaboli’s signature sound of uncompromising electro is overlaid with haunting vocals recited in Icelandic saying “I am only me and you are only you, people exchange words measuring each other out, trying their best at discerning life’s riddles’’. It is easy to say that Kuldaboli knows how to capture the listeners with deep reflections on subjects that most people are aware of but hardly ever speak of.

A2 ‘Ískaldur veruleikinn’ or ‘the ice cold reality’ is the most bouncy dancefloor track of the EP with the openings lyrics saying ‘’Are you telling me the truth? If I were to guess you are lying cold to my face’. The power of word play in this release is by far the most interesting poetic turn for Kuldaboli to date, where he shows great insight to the subconscious and human behaviour.

The smooth sounds of possessed Italo disco on A3 ‘Finn innri frið’, along with the funky bassline and trance like synths has perhaps the most positive vibe to it if you are not familiar to Kuldaboli, along with the playful opener of B-side ‘Afi kenndi mér íslensku’.

Following B2 no-bullshit-electro-track ‘Kuklari’, the final track B3 ‘Fönix úr ösku’ shows the haunting dark depth of depressurisation that vocal and electronics can create, where melancholic lyrics convey images of lost dreams of former lives.

In one sense Central Processing Unit is familiar territory for London Modular Alliance - group members Pip Williams (Phil Ventre) and Koova (Gavin Pkyerman) have both dropped EPs through the Sheffield label in the past, the former offering outer-space street-soul on 2017's Outer Limits after Koova had channelled Drexciya for 2015's This Is Not My Future. However, the Cracked Dice EP represents the first time that the trio have come through on CPU in full force, with Simon Lynch completing the lineup alongside Koova and Williams here. Cracked Dice finds them on top form, blending broken-beat machine-funk grooves with latent house and rave tendencies to thrilling effect.

Cracked Dice is ushered in by the weightless atmospherics of its title-track. The combination of synth washes and gurgling electronics here sounds so alien that it could pass for a piece of incidental music from 'The X-Files', but things don't stay that way for long - the track soon snaps into a stargazing club joint in the Detroit mode, one in which spaceship synth wobbles are pushed onwards by lithe, rumbling sub-bass. The combo comes off like an interstellar throwdown between the Midwestern masters of old and modern practitioners of UK soundsystem techno stylings - Lurka, Batu and the like. Following number 'Head Of The Keeper' maintains the energy of its predecessor, warping junglist archetypes around a breakbeat stomp in a manner reminiscent of Special Request.

London Modular Alliance's brand of electro has always been marked out by its playfulness, a feature derived from how snappy drum and synth programming anchor the group's off-the-cuff improvisation. That sensibility is apparent throughout the entirety of this EP, but perhaps nowhere more so than on first B-side cut 'Chemical Peel'. 'Chemical Peel' is at once stiff-necked and rubbery, the hissing hats and old-skool breaks phasing in and out of a boinging bassline which is pure Mr. Fingers goodness. That machine-funk scuttle carries through to closing track 'Lemon Mishap', a piece of insectoid acid-funk so gnarly it will have the crowd convinced that they're hearing the DJ receive an alien transmission in real time.

Cracked Dice sees esteemed electro dons London Modular Alliance whip up machine-funk, junglism and Midwestern house/techno into a quartet of club tools which are as sleek and futuristic as a lazerbeam.

The Echonomy Split Series puts out recordings which have already been released in small numbers; it brings together two artists who are kin to each other, be it in terms of genre, approach, aesthetics, or other similar relations. In recontextualising these works, new dynamics and associations evolve.

Felix-Florian Tödtloff and Schweben/Philipp Hager are acquainted since years, but never recorded together. Long ago, Felix played in the Berlin-based screamo band Petethepiratesquid, Philipp put up DIY shows somewhere in the swamps of southern germany. Then Philipp started playing in the motorik krautrock duo Zement, and as Felix had been building a reputation of his own as an audio engineer with Aetherweight, he mastered some of their releases. Then came 2020 and all its hegemonial narratives. In May of that year, Philipp played a livestream solo/soli show for a club he was involved in back in the days. 10 tapes were made. Felix used a number of recordings done all over the globe and built the song „Volta“, released in June on a split tape of 50 copies with the great Jeans Beast on Mönchengladbach‘s Econore label.

Upon hearing both recordings around the same time, the similarities were so obvious they sounded almost like two solo recordings of a duo. In a nutshell: these two vibed smooth as fuck.

Built on a groundwork of time-stretching synth drones, both rise slowly into an anti-climactic ride through repetitive patterns. As Schweben takes the driveway to a dance show of mumbling sequence lines, Tödtloff puts on the grand gesture and throws himself into a deep-level minimalist piano etude. Both sides carry the character of exercises of the mind and the body, controlled loopholes and examinations of two things which feel lightyears away now and are so crucial to freedom and an open society: club culture (Schweben) and travelling (FFT). A third element is remembered and exercised in the tape itself: mutual dialogue and communication.

The Drumcode A-Sides compilation is quickly becoming synonymous within the techno world as a go to compilation for the hottest tracks that are deservedly A-side material in their own right. Each specific track has its own unique character that brings an outstanding and electrifying aspect to the compilation that as a whole makes it something extremely special. Mixing both highly experienced and new artists has helped to bring a new dimension to the compilation that makes it such a special array of tracks.

Adam Beyer's Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. With an eye on future talent, as much as the label's established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode's multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. Led by the stealth techno funk of 'Nine of You', Beyer's deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck.
The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O'Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016.
Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

The next release on Phase Group comes in the form of the debut self-titled album by Carcass Identity, the live mutant-electronics partnership of Bruxelles-based artists Ernesto Gonzalez and Matthieu Levet aka Bear Bones Lay Low and Carrageenan.

Following up their breakthrough 2018 EP on Random Numbers, Carcass Identity present us with 6 tracks of warped, percussive, dub-infused psychedelics, born of live hardware jams and succinct sampling work.

Sonically, this LP takes you from the tension-inspiring but dance floor initiating stutter-chug of ‘Things to Forget,’ through the swelling and trance-inducing percussion ride of ‘Spiraling Paradigm’ before ending the A-side with the dubbed-out metallic IDM of ‘Freedom Principle’. On the flip, ‘Quiet Spectator’ is a masterpiece of dread-in-dub ominosity followed by the haunted machine jam of ‘Kundu Basket’. Finally, ‘Desultory’ presents the LPs “grooviest” moment, a repeating and evolving synth line and drum machine combo holding things together while modulating synths and a pitched-vocal sample come in and out of the mix.

As a collection of tracks, this record illustrates perfectly the prowess over hardware manipulation that these two artists possess after years individually releasing music and performing in DIY spaces across Europe and the world. These are two musicians that we hold in highest regard and we’re thrilled to be releasing their debut album together on Phase Group.

One of the main features of techno music is that the music is not limited by geographical boundaries. This feature is well demonstrated by the second release of the Techno Gipsy label, which presents their works of techno artists from different corners of the globe. Two tracks from Swedish breakthrough Sev Dah are simply «dancefloor killers» - Shaban gradually increasing voltage and polished groove and Hamush hits right on target. Remix by Frenchman - Antigone sounds like powerful waves of pulsing bass and Argentinian Jonas Kopp presents two very different interpretations of the original, each of which is in his own original style.

Across two 12" slabs come long buried vignettes, motorik experiments and sketches from deep within the SVN archives. A continuation from his previous EP of the same name (c. 2017), this latest collection's smoked-out ambience, skeletal stuttering rhythmic workouts and smudged stoned melodies are some of the myriad parts that make up this most mysterious 'Mechine'.

Recorded at the now infamous Neues Deutschland Studio in Berlin, this collection of tracks continues the unique sonic explorations that SVN is known for and has deftly showcased through various respected electronic outlets including Apollo, Acido, Sex Tags Mania and more. An essential collection of DIY and contemporary German electronics.

Vel has delivered her debut EP on Unusual Records with Who By Fire. “May It Rise Up Pure And Free,” marries pulsing techno kick drums with luminous ambient atmospheres. Next is “Eh Lof Live Real,” which arguably offers more in the way of chord progression and textures with haunting vocal samples stuttering their way through the arrangement. Amour Noir offered up a banging remix of the former track, while In Aeternam Vale reimagined the trip of latter.

VENDi - Berlin based, French artist who developed his passion for arts from childhood. After releases on Ultrastretch, Normandy at the begin of 2019,
VENDi give his debut on Subtil with an unique piece of wax. On side A, Meeram and on the flip side Hauskat impress with stunning grooves, hypnotic melodies which takes you on a magic journey. Mybtch exudes more an opaque sluggish vibe, reduced to a minimum, a stumble beat complemented by a handful thoughtful and arranged percussive elements.

The second release of Nastia's NECHTO label represents the cutting edge of modern ukrainian electronic music. Voin Oruwu is a project of Kyiv-based producer Dmitriy Avksentiev, also known as Koloah. Under this alias Dmitry explores his love of cinematography and all things mystical. This time technology, science and art are all fused into one solid EP of high energy tracks with meditative cinematic grooves taking you on a tense science fiction journey through the depths of the universe. This EP has been heavily featured in Nastia's sets all over the world captivating minds and bodies of thousands of clubbers.

The magnetic trail of her previous collab with dub techno wizard Donato Dozzy has merely had time to cool off that Adiel's already set for a new joint exploration of the dancers' deep-buried collective subconscious. For the 3rd instalment of Die Orangen’s Saft series on MT, we have invited dear friends Full Circle once again, this time remix- ing the track Krautback off DO’s album Zwei Orangen. Joakim & Alexis took a different turn from their proto-no-goa sound, with more than a nod to the late (and sadly missed) mr. Weatherall, and the result is a DUB. Another duo we are huge fans of, Smagghe & Cross, took the song Zwei and reshaped it into a minimalistic psychedelic tonal symphony, echoing the original song's voices and fx. On the B-side, after 3 years of working on it, we have finally brought together again the mighty duo Mungolian Jetset to re- work bits and pieces from the whole LP. Its a midtempo cosmic disco/house banger that keeps on giving. a pure outdoor festival gem... Last but not least, we are releasing as B2, for the first time on Vinyl, Die Orangen's collaboration with artist Eva Geist ( self-re- leased digitally earlier this year by the ginger boys themselves) ..... A perfect collaboration, bringing out the more sunny side of the D.O. duo......

Punctual like a Swiss watch, Driftmachine presents a new album that once again astounds and delights. We know their trademark: solid mechanical percussions, forceful bass and melodies systematically built around circular patterns. "Spume & Recollection" is the sixth Umor Rex album by the Berlin duo, and what better way to celebrate the label's 15th anniversary than with a new record from the masters of labyrinthine cables and patches. Regarding "Nocturnes" (UR 2014), their debut album, we described their sound as precise and symmetrical, identical concrete blocks mounted and articulated in a random order. Their already obsessive style continued to evolve with their third record, "Colliding Contours" (UR 2016), now pushing further into abstract dub, ultra-tense grooves, and even more kinetic loops, moving further away from conventional musical structures. Between these two albums they released the remarkable "Eis Heauton" (UR 2015), a kind of hypnotic experiment informed by shadowy atmospheres, chance, and an intuitive dialogue with their musical machines, a unique situation in which they acted as bemused observers in hunt for epiphanies, resulting in an exquisite amalgamation of lucid dream-logic and mechanical precision. A one-of-a-kind soundtrack for minute and wordless scenes unfolding in pitch-black back alleys and hidden, alchemical basements. A similar map was explored with "Shunter" (UR 2018), a superb secret meeting between avant-garde phantasmagoria and concrete experimentation. "Radiations" (UR 2017) offered B-sides and bonus tracks, in addition to collaborations with Shackleton and The Sight Below, a kind of preamble that united Driftmachine’s different expressions and leanings.

When Andreas Gerth and Florian Zimmer come up with new material, one listens with high expectation. Looking back on their discography, one could safely anticipate a high quality album densely layered with their familiar leitmotifs. And yet, "Spume & Recollection" takes us by surprise and finds a new way to transfix. Fresh methods and ideas are introduced to their dynamics and formula. Yes, of course, you can still expect a healthy dose of kosmische, which is one of the dominant features in Driftmachine’s DNA; but this is now entwined with novel materials, semi-material patterns of alien code stretching over exhilaratingly tense and detailed grooves, clouds of gas shifting on top of deep dub architecture and blocking out the sun for prismatic effect. Even more of a surprise is the immediate, streamlined nature of these tracks, making "Spume & Recollection" their most accessible record and, perhaps, the most addictive (and this without sacrificing the essential mystery and strangeness at the core of Driftmachine’s sound).

We have previously described their work as post-industrial-dub; right now, we might just call it hypno-music for man and machine to dance and dream together. "Spume & Recollection" takes this concept as far as it can go without breaking, and finds some strange new feelings, and weirdly danceable grooves, to shed some light on this dark and dazzling ride.

International Day Off records became a new base for one of the most interesting characters of new wave techno in recent years - POST SCRIPTUM, whose name is already and widely known from labels such as Infrastructure New York, Ostgut Ton or Sonic Groove. This EP is a flagship example of what the sci-fi techno is. No doubt the most energetic and the most powerful sounding 3 tracks EP ever released on International Day Off. Everything what you will hear is concentrated on a solid base, with carefully constructed bit pulsation that marks the direction of your music powered space travel. IDO 013 is a very expressive musical proposal, a masterpiece that could be a soundtrack for landing on the Gliese 581 c. Overall this EP is a must have for every modern, post-industrial space traveler!

One track was recorded with each synthesizer in Studio Styrka, Sweden 2005, then and a cassette box with 16 tracks was released in the extremly limited edition of one copy. The Human Pinacolada LP from 2009 is made out of 8 of these tracks, splendidly beatless, harsch, solid & sometimes beautiful. Psychedelic synth freaks, from the excellent Börft sublabel - you are hereby served.

On side A "Zero Gravity" by Clash an artist with a strong techno sound definition, presents a grooving & dirty track with acid lines wrapped in dark journey texture. Continuing on this side, V1L one of the most constant artists in our roster, includes "War Insemination", a track including many atmospheres, textures and trippy colors. Hypnotic and amazing sounds that occur in sequence of audio chains.

On the flip, Julixo, one of the best techno producers hailing from Argentina, includes his track "Arcadia". Broken beats with strong sound and vocal samples to make this track a solid techno dancefloor killer. The last track to end up this release, we've got "Geografía Física" by DJ MELEJ & RMDR. This duo from Argentina samples the experimental side of label, with lo-fi sounds, downtempo with deep sounds.

Searching for new ways to express himself, Maarten Smeets (one half of Detroit Swindle) has found a new perspective on music in his alter ego “Wanderist”. Here, he shares his unique view on contemporary electronic music with strong influences from dub, electro, techno and ambient in tempo’s that match the intensity, funk and drive of his sound. As Wanderist, he has been writing some of his more abstract work of recent times. His sound is melancholic yet euphoric, using powerful loops and dreamlike melodies to create a dense flow in his compositions. His debut release is signed to Aus music later in 2020 and he has also launched his own label titled ‘Transient Nature’ where his own work will be released along with the work of like-minded artists. With a large catalog of music ready to release and collaborations with various labels planned for 2021, the future is bright for Wanderist.

Since 2010, Adam Keith's solo project Cube has been supplying a steady run of records and cassettes that capture songwriterly fixations and frustrations in a dextrous style of wounded electronics. Though Cube has been the centrepiece of his activity for some years, he's all the while remained active in collaborations, playing in bands such as SPF and Mansion to name just a few. Rounding off a decade of dialogues and agitations, Alter now presents Keith's third LP under the moniker of Cube, 'Drug of Choice' Based in New York, though managing a functional transience that takes in California too, Keith's latest iteration as Cube launches a panoramic set of sonic touchstones into a gristly and hypnotic orbit. Seismic drum machine parts partition an album that layers industrial-tipped takes on digi-dub with roaming guitar lines, piano vignettes, and breakbeat theatrics. For all the abrasiveness and rhythmic allusions that Keith employs, his use of voices alongside lush manipulations of errant samples and atmospheres tempers the commotion, delivering something that feels as much focused on artful constructions of private experiences as it does the cathartic qualities of noise.

A.P. and Rowland The Bastard provide 2 tough warehouse techno tracks each for the iconic Cluster label. A.P. gets slightly funky on City Fever but then pounds hard on You Are What You Are, whilst Rowland delivers sinister grooves on Barabas, and more straight ahead dynamic power on Overlab Sub Stab.

2020 was a year like no other. Thankfully, Shipwrec is slowly returning to normality. Not only is the label back to releasing form, but also the roster of artists is being expanded with the superb addition of Caron. Known for his releases on labels like 030303 and Brokntoys, Caron debuts on Shipwrec with a four tracker of sheer quality. Off-kilter percussion introduces the breathy pads and grandeur of "Ancestry," a piece of dreamy chords and acid undertones. The haunting "Common Sense" follows. Drums stagger next spectral vocals in this chilling electro piece. A similar stalking note continues on the flip with the 303 soaked "Lost." A steady kick offers a bedrock from which looming keys, bitter squawk and dancefloor paranoia take hold. Hopeful shades arrive with the brilliance of "Ruins." From industrial percussion and metallic rinses, a deep and intricate finale forms to bring "Shattered" to a terrific close.

3 tracks by 5 artists with a passion for stripped down dubbed out house and techno have joined forces for this very user-friendly piece of slab. The first track: Dub 2.3 by Fede Zerdan is a no-compromise ode to the sound of echoes in empty spaces. The second track Marz by Karina is a far more feline affair, purring it's way around a funkified acidic bassline with a groove that's guaranteed to make you move.

The label side is reserved for Minimal Surface... a collaboration between the Russian master of dub techno Heavenchord & the Italian dual delay and blood brothers, Sibling. This one is an insisting 4 to the floor peek time banger that is guaranteed to ripp dancefloors apart wherever it may land.

Mighty Athenian duo Ice_Eyes have previously released their edgy club mutations on labels such as Seagrave, Genot Centre, ANBA, TAR and Ernest D. Tapes. They have now assembled an action- packed six-track EP for Hypermedium, making fine use of their futuristic mechanics and ultra-fine sonic weaponry. Ice Eyes's approach on 'Vicious Circles' simulates a plethora of dark materials mixed together, sculpted with a laser light cutter, as reflected on the self-titled track. This nexus ushers the listeners to throw themselves to an eerie storm of outstanding grime-leaning kinetics like 'HYDRO' or to the claustrophobic space of 'Folded'. The gabber-ish breakcore rhythmology of 'BH Agony' creates an urge to frantically gasp for air, while the elegiac euphoria of 'Crystalbody' is the centrepiece of its full rave energy. This eumorphic projection of pseudo cylindrical body phenomena is always present and changes the mood effectively. 'Endless Clicks' outro gives away that different twist of mood shifts by formulating hazy vocal phrases

Kaiserdisco start the single with 'El Tiburon' that has a pulsating bass line, which isn't for the feint hearted. This peak time stomper uses a melodic synth and unusual synth effects to create the building atmosphere before it kicks back into the throbbing beat. The ascending bass line on the flipside 'La Caballa', is supported by white noise and a rising synth that will make any dancefloor erupt into a heated flow of energy.
