Techno Novedades
At the beginning of the Nineties of the last century, House music was firmly in the hands of U.S. metropolises New York, Detroit and Chicago. One of the most influential labels during that time was the Power Music branch Sex Trax, where the unforgettable 'Can You Dig it' by Mark The 909 King was released in 1994 as the first record of the new label. It was in the same year when Felix da Housecat's buddy Harrison Crump debuted with 'Deep Down Inside", an almost ideal blueprint of the Chicago House sound with rather indecent lyrics, Sex Trax in the true sense of the word. The Chicago sound has not lost its fascination in the year 2010, that's obvious in the remixes of modern Techhouse heroes Reboot and Michel Cleis, who have previously released on Cadenza, Below, Buzzin' Fly and Cocoon. The one who goes first is Frankfurt-based Frank Heinrich aka Reboot, whose almost 10-minute-long interpretation of 'Deep Down Inside' is strongly focused on percussive tribal sounds and first and foremost stands for uncompromising entertainment on the dancefloor. The flipside by Michel Cleis, whose hypnotic 'La Mezcla' ruled the last season in Ibiza, is more complex in the depth of its sound: with sensual quotes from a Hammond organ and a lot of sound effects on the vocal track, Cleis celebrates a form of Soul-soaked Techno Jazz, whose perfection and versatileness rather could have been expected from a producer from the likes of Carl Craig. As a digital bonus, the record contains the original version, which has been out of stock for years.

Videosphere, the debut album by Kompakt’s latest signing, the London-based artist Lake Turner (aka Andrew Halford), swoons into focus with “The Sunbird”, a teasing drift of lilting, ambient tones, riding out a submerged piston-pulse rhythm. Across its brief 109 seconds, it manages to traverse evocative terrain – something mythopoetic, something both humble and grandiose, a glimpse of the other behind the sky’s curtain. “I wanted to conjure up something resembling an ancient ceremony or death procession,” Turner nods. “Like a hymn to the surroundings of a faraway hill.” It’s both sky-bound and earthen, a ritual incantation to call in the music of the spheres.
Turner was introduced to the Kompakt family by his sometime collaborator Yannis Philippakis of Foals. He’d previously made music in post-punk and indie groups Great Eskimo Hoax and Trophy Wife, but Videosphere is the first time he’s fully articulated his own vision of electronic music, aside from one limited lathe-cut 12”, 2018’s Prime Mover EP, on Algebra. The lush ambient-disco-techno dreams of Videosphere were constructed and completed in his London studio and at his parents’ arable and sheep farm in Worcestershire, which might help explain the hazy, unhurried pastoralism of the album.
“There was a slight bittersweetness in finishing the record (in Worcestershire) as my parents were in the middle of selling my childhood home,” he sighs, before quipping, “on the plus, I ended up shearing a lot of sheep over the summer.” A student of archaeology and ancient history, Turner is no doubt carefully attuned to the twisting cogs of history and memory, and it’s no surprise that Videosphere has a nostalgic, melancholic cast; much of its beauty rests in the way it tugs, gently, at the heart strings – see the tear-stained cheeks of the lush, dappled “Honeycomb”, or the sweetly sad electro-roundelay of “No Way Back Forever.”
It’s not all drift-dream hypnosis, though – Videosphere is very much grounded in the now. ““No Way Back Forever” is a nod to the linear nature of time,” Turner explains by way of example, “and the tipping point of the world climate crisis that scientists have now declared.” Jayne Powell’s vocals are sent spinning through the song, wound like candyfloss; she takes centre stage on the techno hymnal title track, too. Throughout, there’s a sense of forward movement, despite the life stasis we find ourselves collectively bound by in mid-2020; there’s also a yearning for the communal, for community, that’s captured in the album title, a nod to an object Turner encountered at London’s Geoffrey Museum, “a television set in the shape of a spaceman’s helmet from the 1970s.”
“The vision I loosely had was to make an electronic record that had a communal warmth and almost ceremonial or ritual feel. I wanted to examine the relationship of our archaic minds in the trappings of the modern world,” Turner concludes. “What the Videosphere also symbolizes for me is the oneness of humanity and community, prevailing.”

Dark electronix and electro from Assimilation Process. A vivid mix of digital processed sounds in combination with field recording and other analogue sound sources. These 6 tracks draw their energy from the severe contrast between melancholy and noise intensified by the rhythmic structures and the instantaneous sound pressure. Heavy!!

Refreshingly new oldskool techno tracks by Bornek Nowec, a project by a Rotterdam based dj/producer known for his long tied connections with the local techno scene. This release is the first outing from his large archive of techno tracks produced over the years. 4 cuts full of character that reminds us of the long nights at the Nightown basement in the 90's where he was dj'ing with guys such as Dj T!M aka Frame Six and Paul Du Lac.

The first in Wormhole Wisdom's trio of Grumptronix / Diode represses contains two highly sought after cuts from Diode and on the B-side, a previously unheard and unreleased Grumptronix cut. As Diode's efforts spell out over the A-side, Omar's hypnotic sound prove that they also have the ability to pack a punch. With spine-tingling industrial & artificial intelligence influences, both '06Funk' & 'Waterhole' swing mechanical with a firm nod to the future. This unique sound is what's had people reaching deep to own a copy for themselves. On the flip, 'The Witching Hour,' the first of 5 unreleased tracks in the series, takes an even deeper, mysterious turn, bringing things down a notch. It's an intoxicating sound, packed full of nostalgia, space and energy - prepare to glide over your dance floor, living room or stratosphere in the proceeding 9+ minutes as you soak up one of the most uncompromising, emotive and relevant electro cuts to never see the light of day - until now. All tracks have been mastered from the original DATs with care and love by the ears and hands of Simon?@?The Exchange.

1997. 'Drexciya don't have no phone. They're too busy to do your remix'. Mad Mike's response was short and to the point, enough to put off some; but not Vincent Koreman. Addicted from an early age, the dutch producer dug deeper and deeper into the mythology and mystery of James Stinson and Gerald Donald. The sounds, images and ideas conjured up by the Detroit electro duo pulled Koreman in, his "fascination" growing ever more "intense" as the underwater dwellers sonically prospered. Fast forward twenty years and that fascination has not diluted one drop, in fact the aquatic dream of the wavejumpers is the inspiration for "Recolonization". These tracks "would have never had existed," says Koreman, "if it wasn't for Stinson and Donald creating that great, energetic, abstract electronic music and coupled it with an original vision on the African diaspora, art and culture." This music is an homage to the enigma of Drexciya, a tribute to the machine marine men who pioneered electro and a vision. Drvg Cvltvre continues that vision, one of "an underwater race" that has reconquered Earth, overcoming "big business, corporate greed and water pollution" to reclaim the surface from man. Forget mankind. Our time is over, 'Recolonization' is here.

Operating as a new series to his longstanding dement3d imprint, founded back in 2011 alongside co-founder hbt, the project will serve as a cultural platform for artists to share visions and expansive productions not confined within the worlds of house and techno, enabling the freedom to explore genres across the electronic sphere. This approach stems from Francois X' own personal approach to music production and djing, with a key emphasis on warm, emotive and sensual cuts at its core. The inaugural ep comes from Francois X with the four tracks featured on '001' bridging the gap between his earlier and forthcoming work as well as his future vision for the imprint, incorporating broken arrangements, captivating soundscapes, and immersive textures to reveal a warmer, more house-focused side to x's sound across slower, entrancing tempos. Whilst zoumenou's productions remain centred around his own personal vision of the night, highlighted by the track titles across the package, the cuts explore and delve deep into the idea of open expression within landscapes heightened through the sense of both obscurity and mystery, returning back to ideas explored within his IRREGULAR PASSION LP released in 2018.

After a prolific career releasing on platforms such as Audio Assault, Token, PercTrax, Stroboscopic Artefacts and the HueHelix imprint Go Hiyama is back with an astounding piece of work that dictates its own path. 'I Am Goodbye' graces us with wondrous sound-design and drum patterns that are just as menacing as they are intricate. Based on the concept of denial this full-length takes a steep dive into what here at Parachute we cherish the most - individuality. Steering away from what are his canonic approaches to producing he chooses to leave behind sequencers and synths to further explore the nature of instruments such as piano and vibraphone as well as an array of field recordings. The end result is remarkable proof of the concept behind this album, interpreting denial in an unusually positive course of action allowing him to explore areas of sound he had previously never visited. A definite highlight here at Parachute and an exemplary release to kick off our 2017 schedule. The year couldn't have started any better! ‚I Am Goodbye' is designed by Atilla Fidan and released on LP and digital formats.

A distillation of cultural memory through electronic process, James Place - the creative guise of New York native Phil Tortoroli, returns with his third release for Umor Rex. The sonic realization of love and loss, re-sculpted for the Post-Modern age, pursuing his glacial take on techno into newly intimate depths.
Departing from a line in TS Elliot's Four Quartets the moment in and out of time', its works take form through the haze of a dream. Over the course of several months Tortoroli tracked heaps of live stereo jams at home, jamming on his drum machine, sampler, polysynth, and effects setup. Poring over these hours of hazy jams, Tortoroli heard himself straining for an additional voice to further emote. Rifling through a vast library of old bounces and experiments, Tortoroli rediscovered the music of Sam Sally to complete Voices Bloom, resampled live and again subdued into explorations of an old practice'.
Voices Bloom is the musicality of cultural collage, immensely personal and intimate, arms stretched out, gathering diverse sonic worlds. The artist and his craft as a self-reflexive lens for an electronic age - a sonic patchwork heard from afar - impressions of memory, drawn close to the heart. Within the album's cool displaced tones, rise nostalgic romances, drifting rhythmic works which defy the beat. A world where time enters multiple frames, those possible, literal, implied, forgotten, and remembered anew. The final results on Voices Bloom are the most reflective yet from James Place. The hopeful kosmische beats and hauntological synth music on previous albums, and more delicate melodies, riding crisp minimal rhythms that flow elegantly from vignette to vignette. Rhythms of abstract techno with glistening melodic lights.

This year Kevin Saunderson, Ann Saunderson and Paris Grey, collectively known as the legendary band Inner City, release 'Future', their first entirely new material since parting company in 2001, written and produced in collaboration with another Detroit legend, namely Kenny Larkin.
The track marks a welcome return for a group that combined the tough, futuristic grooves of the Detroit scene with the vocal energy of R&B and gospel and helped to define the period in which house and techno moved from underground phenomena to top 10 material, paving the way for hundreds of dance hits to come.
'Future' is devastatingly catchy and highly emotional, exhibiting all the soulful flavours and qualities you would expect from these celebrated producers and singers. Masterfully re-edited by Carl Craig this track ascends to a higher place whilst Kenny Larkin is on remix duties, beautifully reworking the original into a techno infused monster with intoxicating staccato vocals.

TJ Hertz's first original release since 2014's critically acclaimed Flatland LP comes in the form of Objekt #4, a continuation of his club-focused white label series and a tribute to the sadly now defunct Basement Q, a formative and beloved haunt in Berlin's Schöneberg district which quietly but profoundly shaped the musical identities of Hertz and several of his contemporaries until its final closure in 2012.
There really was no place quite like it,' remembers Hertz. Even in the later years when Joe (Call Super) and I would go, the sense of vitality was palpable, you had all these regulars who must all have been pushing 50 years old but still had more energy and passion than any 25 year olds we knew at the time. God only knows what it must've been like in the 80s when it opened. I think it changed a bit over the years but I know the horse fresco on the ceiling was there from the start and the custom-built soundsystem too. Bogdan, the sage and amiable but somehow kinda unhinged old Bulgarian dude that owned and built the place, he had this obsession with right angles, he hated them, said they were fascist or something. So everything was slightly askew and you never quite knew which direction was up, much less when he or Emil or one of the other residents were playing. It was disorientating and beautiful and in the midst of such an experience your eyes would offer your brain no valid explanation for the wonderful confusion of sound that your ears were reporting. Meanwhile this old, fabulous, rave-weathered crowd of 40 to 60 people would be gradually losing their shit, feet glued to the floor but bodies flailing as if caught in a hurricane. It was something else.'
The two tracks on Objekt #4 pay tribute to two of the many musical facets of Basement Q in its later years. A-side Needle and Thread' aims to condense several hours of a Thursday night in the Basement into 9 minutes and 26 seconds, embellishing a hypnotic rolling techno backbone with hyper-detailed atmospherics, enchanting melodies and tight, strident breakbeats. B-side Theme From Q' is Hertz's reinterpretation of a Basement Q anthem, owner and founder DJ Bogdan's own Love Inna Basement (Morning Dub)', which never saw an official release despite providing the soundtrack to over 20 years of late morning love-ins in the cellar underneath the Sattler & Söhne glue factory. Together, the two tracks offer an incomplete but nonetheless seductive illustration of one of the most idiosyncratic and overlooked clubs in Berlin's recent history.

Suzanne Ciani is a true electronic music pioneer. The five Grammy nominated Italian-American neoclassical composer is unquestionably one of the greatest minds that contemporary music has ever witnessed. After an incredible career spanning forty years, Ciani’s accomplishments have become a benchmark when discussing the origins of musical synthesis. For more than four decades she developed a body of work that transcends the music industry, composing for film, video games and famous advertising campaigns that have impacted popular culture. On December 14, 2019, after six years of sound experimentation, Lapsus Festival bid farewell to Barcelona’s Centre for Contemporary Culture. Its final event was entitled 'A Sonic Womb' and was dedicated to the musical roots of the synthesizer, with Suzanne Ciani headlining on the night. Ciani performed an exclusive show accompanied by her modular Buchla 200e synthesizer and enveloped in a specially designed multi-channel sound environment by Intorno Labs. It was a sonic voyage to the very heart of her beloved machine and a tribute to improvisation through an instrument that is said to possess its own soul. Suzanne described the night as ”an improvisation that I began using in the ’70s and continue to use now as raw material. Each performance based on this material has its own expression and one could liken it to jazz." Lapsus Records is therefore extremely honoured to present 'A Sonic Womb: Live Buchla Performance at Lapsus', a unique live recording of this extra special concert.
Here it is! Appearing first time on vinyl. The film tells the story of six mental cases, trying to get rid of society's norms and values by kidnapping, a well-known TV host. Delivering the soundtrack, The Conservatives (I-F & Intergalatic Gary) are setting down the perfect mood for this cult classic.

Darko Esser returns with two powerful, finely crafted techno pieces on the eighth installment of his Trip series, 'Eighth Trip' his first release since 2015.
'Untitled #15' drives forward with sullen aggression, eerie morphing synths gaining strength and swaying atop aggravated deep-hitting drums, all constantly meandering in space and energy. On the flip side 'Untitled #16' is forged with less aggression, but just as much tension, a morose cowbell sounds, offset from a moody drum pattern that beats beneath an extra-terrestrial synth, creeping, and probing, throughout the whole piece.
Altogether 'Eighth Trip' is yet another rich-sounding release from a champion of the darker, deeper realms of techno.

The highly anticipated EP, 'WHAT HE SAYS', written and produced by French techno artist, VLAYSIN, with remixes by Italian producer AYARCANA, along with Los Angeles artist, AXKAN, is finally here. This is the first release for OMEN Recordings and it effortlessly chronicles the chaotic, dark, and raw characters of cutting edge techno.VLAYSIN performs live using pure hardware to capture his raw analog sound. His music is dark experimental with soul and substance. The energy and vigor it brings captures the listener and takes you to a place you never have been. Strong bass lines fasten to the developmental, noise melodies in a cohesive way that gets the dance floor moving. With previous releases under his Octave moniker which leans towards a cleaner and traditional techno path, Vlaysin opts for the 'no holds barred' route. The title track, 'What He Says', goes straight in with industrial strength distortion led by glitchy, moody and deep melodies. The second track, 'Rising Anger', is off to the experimental races with abrasive analog screams and 'in your face' explosive noises. AXKAN is a leader in creating industrial and haunting synth work. His wildly different approach and dedication to the classic sounds from a SCI Pro-One and Roland System 100m amongst others make his remix of 'What He Says' very unique. His tribal break-beat kick drums around a distorted dark vocal breakdown add to this brutal ride. AYARCANA is also a producer at the forefront of the industrial techno movement that has been taking the darkest warehouses by storm worldwide over the past few years. His remix of 'Rising Anger' marches forward with upfront, harsh, factory machine melodies and then eventually rolling kicks ascending to a fast speed finish. This EP is rooted in anxiety and provides serious energy. Sonically all the tracks on the EP work together in a cohesive fashion that, without a doubt, will rip loudspeaker systems to shreds. It draws you in and takes you on a unmerciful, but yet trippy ride, before it mauls you in the face with submarine deep kicks and chainsaw melodies. It employs some of the craziest and experimental sounds that makes this record definitely worth listening.

Rhythm Buro's fourth release is a much anticipated EP from one of it's co-cofounders, Na Nich aka Alexander Pavlenko. Pavlenko has been making music for nearly 20 years, most notably under the alias Sunchase. With the latter project, he was known in the drum and bass world as something of a child prodigy, but more recently Pavlenko started applying his artistry towards soundscapes that can be filed into the techno category. In the last four years he's been first and foremost involved with Rhythm Buro, a techno initiative, party series and label from Kiev, Ukraine, that has since become well-regarded among DJs and dancers internationally.
This EP marks Na Nich's first solo EP, following a track featured on Semantica Records' anniversary compilation 'Arquitectura del Sueno', along with a few tracks appearing on Rhythm Buro's previous VA releases.
RB004 opens on the A1 with a track entitled 'The Key' which is one of the first tracks made by Na Nich. The listener is gently introduced to an ambient wonder wall before some percussive elements open up and synths set the mood: a transportive journey led by a kalimba-infused melody which swells with a certain ambiguity that seems to lend a shamanistic touch. A2's 'DVA' is a more four-to-the-floor dubbed-out gentle fist pumper, with melting synth melodies and foggy layers backdropped by steady reaching high-hats and a consistently wise kick drum. A strong element of the psychedelic and inquisitive is much present.
The B side of the record is another part of the story: B1's 'Log' is an epic night-finisher dreamscape, a strong element of space seems to be the focus here as beats play less present in this foggy cinematic soundtrack to a film that has yet to be made. The remix version by Luigi Tozzi on B2 reminds us how deep this prolific Italian artist can take us down the rabbit hole. For fans of danceable, groove-centered and thought provoking tunes to loose one's and find one's mind to.

Reissue of this mesmerizing record including an unreleased alternate mix of "Subterranean Zappa Blues". Hypnotic rhythms made of slow minimal beats, industrial textures, intoxicating drones and repetitive voices that seem to merge from dreams. Everything built by two of the most brilliant industrial music minds: Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter.
"This album arrived somewhere after a dream meeting of several individuals, Graham Bond, Joe Meek, Jacques Berrocal and myself. After a few beers and a heated disscussion of puncture repair we all lay down in a circle and point our penises at Venus, telepathic messages are sent out to Colin saying he can use the two golden microphones. He did, and here we are." Steven Stapleton, 17.1.94.
Rock 'n Roll Station began life with Steven Stapleton asking engineer Colin Potter to remix some of the more rhythmic elements of 'Colder Still' from 1992's Thunder Perfect Mind. As Potter gradually warped these sections into weirder and weirder pieces, a new album began to emerge. Potter himself explained it to David Keenan in England’s Hidden Reverse: “What I sometimes did in the studio was to ‘over-use’ effects and processors to totally mutate a piece into something completely different” while Stapleton observed how “it was almost as though telepathic messages were sent over to Colin. We’d started an album together at IC Studio that was never finished. He then sent me some vague mixes, which were just what I had in mind. So, from that basis, I started putting the album together.”
Potter would quickly become a key player in Nurse With Wound’s productions, a position he continues to fulfil to this day. He was first credited as a member on 1992’s Thunder Perfect Mind, a tour-de-force of cold, at times hostile, machined atmospheres, but considers Rock ‘N Roll Station from the following year to still be his favourite.
Building on percussion and drone elements, Stapleton and Potter throw in a huge range of bizarre and atmospheric elements: didgeridoos, chanting voices, and their usual selection of unidentifiable sounds.
Its strong focus on rhythm was erroneously surmised by some as an attempt to join the then rising electronic dance music scene. But it was Stapleton’s recent obsession with the music of ‘King of the Mambo’ Pérez Prado that was beating at the heart of Rock N’ Roll Station’s heady rhythms.
The album’s title alluded to two specifically rock-related stations of influence: the song of the same name by Jac Berrocal, of which a surprisingly straight cover opens the album in homage; and the tragic life of the Sixties British R&B organist Graham Bond who influenced bands such as Deep Purple and Cream. Beset by mental health problems (at one point believing he was the son of Aleister Crowley), Bond died under a train at a Tube station in 1989 and it is this tragic scene that Rock ‘n Roll Station’s closing track, ‘Finsbury Park, May 8th, 1:35 PM (I'll See You In Another World)’, sets in sound.

DESCRIPTION
FALK Records will be releasing 'Spaces' from Icelandic experimental producer AAIIEENN this August.
AAIIEENN is the solo project of electronic musician Hallmar Gauti Halldórsson. Halldórsson first came to
music though being a mover and shaker in Iceland's punk and hardcore scene where he was the 'harsh
noise guy' with local band Distill the World. With AAIIEENN however, Halldórsson moved away from the
guitars and screaming to a fully electronic world of experimental synth music and gorging on the
mathematical possibilities and expanses of arpeggio/sequencer driven ambient music.
'Calab-Yau' and 'Continuous Property 1' drip shards of pure crystalline sound into deep crevasses as
harmonic droplets ping of gleaming surfaces coated with spongiform bass. The light and effervescent
'Euclidean' evokes classic Ambient Works Aphex Twin, while 'Manifold' is more direct with a muscular and
sturdy bassline. Spaces closes with the fluttering and lush ambient sounds of 'Zariksi' that are carried into
the skies by a pulsing and gliding techno beat.
A new talent is added to our roster, this time the argentinian Alderaan, after several releases in labels such as Animal farm, Mindtrip, Planet Rhythm and our very own Aine.
He offers five slices of modern techno, heavy percussive based but whit a lot of intelligent elements inside.
First cut is Ancient Particles, multiple drum layers, heavy reverberation and obsessive sequences as sound palette.
Parallax follows in the same style but adding more drone action and bell like lines in a clever arrangement.
Oscar Mulero remixes Retina getting rid of the textures and focusing in rhythm and repetition in a minimalistic remake.
Retina is a cosmic exercise, with galactic resonant bleeps, atmospheres and ambiental components in a dreamy structure.
No quarter returns to percussive territories, again with drones and atmospheres floating over the beat in an hypnotic travel thru deepness.
Timeless techno for the mind and for the body, soul as a weapon.

Ben Buitendijk returns to his own Oblique Music for the tenth release. A three-tracker firmly rooted in techno, yet each track is showcasing a very different execution of the genre. "Erosion" is an energetic acid workout, whilst "Sketch" is an study of minimalism with freaky FM sounds. Title track "Ouroboros" is inspired on the mythological concept of the snake eating it's own tail, sounding like an infinite loop.
First part of Machine Funk project. Machine Funk is a twelve vinyl records project created by Cygnus and Alek Stark, the mind behind Fundamental Records, 808 Box, Electric Eclectics and now Electro Records. Machine Funk is based on the classic cyber-punk comic book created by Barry Windsor Smith. Essential electro music full of vocoders and analog machinery, produced by Cygnus!

The term 'cruelty' is so limiting according to our cultural expectations of it, an act may give perceived 'good' to the perpetrator and 'bad' to the victim. It may give good in the long run and bad in the short run or vice versa. The unifying factor to all forms of cruelty is GHOULIA.

Earthen Sea adds to the Kimochi Sound with a soulful examination of indistinct margins, suffused with dusky haze. It's a heady atmosphere and has a palpable heaviness throughout. Starting the record are the concrete reverberations of You Don't Never Know, followed by the murky ebb and flow of Fly. 13 Beat(less) is diffused ambience.
Shielding fittingly closes the record, and weaves Earthen Sea's many textures with intricate syncopation.

Mark Broom should need no introduction, a legend on the UK electronic music scene, he is internationally renowned for both his production capabilities and outstanding DJ skills. It’s no wonder that his tracks have graced the likes of Mo-Wax, Warp, R&S, Bek Audio, Ifach (with Baby Ford), Blueprint, Bpitch Control, NON Series, M-Plant, Material and more. Not to mention his collaboration with James Ruskin as The Fear Ratio which has seen releases on both Blueprint and Skam. And over the years he has added to this legacy by self-releasing on his own labels, Pure Plastic, King Of The Snakes and the current chapter, Beard Man.
Now for the first of three EPs, Mark Broom brings his sound to EPMMusic and the ‘One Sound / Myth EP’ sees Broom in pure Techno mode. ‘One Sound’ is highly effective in its simplicity; nothing is superfluous on this grooving, bass-laden beast, while ‘Myth’ is a revolving stomper that’s primed for the dancefloor with its layered beats and shining cymbals.
Adding another dimension to the EP are remixes from Chicago’s DJ Hyperactive and the Antwerp based DJ/producer, Absent.
DJ Hyperactive is an underground Techno hero, honing his skills in the early 90s, he has produced over 100 original tracks and remixes, played at most of the legendary techno clubs across the world and still finds time to run his own 4Trk Recordings. His remix of ‘One Sound’ is deep down and dirty, adding that raw Chicago touch to great effect.
Absent started his musical journey at an early age, when his Father introduced him to vinyl and his extensive record collection ranging from early Jazz to Classical to Rhythm and Blues. At the age of 15, he attended his first Techno party and from that day his journey into the genre began. With African blood running through his veins he has a passion for rhythm and melody, which is clearly evident on his stellar Tech-funk remix of ‘Myth’.

A sense of endless motion characterizes the EP, with every bar taking the listener further and further into Ru ng's world where his unique soundscapes, textures, and harmonies reside. These already shine on a beatless track, so when they are layered over either straightforward or broken beats, they become absolutely compelling and irresistible. The producer is sur ng between in uences while never forgetting himself. Already standing out with an accomplished and distinctive sound, Ru ng takes his sound to the next level on this record. Hybrid, relentless and hallucinogenic, in true Banlieue fashion.

HELLCAT is a new series from bbbbbb records focusing on club-ready dance floor driven tunes. The first edition, HELLCAT VOL.1 welcomes VTSS and Cadency on the A side, juxtapositioned by the Icelanders Bjarki and Kuldaboli on the B side.
Berlin-based Polish producer, DJ and live act VTSS is a regular at Warsaw-based club Jasna1 and her visceral productions and energetic performances join the dots between hard techno, acid, rave and EBM. ‘Sober Raving’ sees her once again in her finest form with rumbling bass, mean melodies and a cacophony of percussion.
Cadency is the moniker of OAKS and KAOS founder Héctor Oaks. He is one of the most exciting names in today’s thriving techno scene and is a regular at the likes of Berlin’s infamous Herrensauna and Tbilisi’s nightclub institution Bassiani.
‘Eating Steel’ is an example of how twisted Oaks can get, combining reverberating kicks with oscillating atmospherics and murky vocal samples.
Bjarki needs little introduction as the founder of bbbbbb and one of the most versatile electronic music producers and live acts out there, creating high quality techno, electro, IDM and even ambient. Meanwhile, Kuldaboli is another Icelandic electronic music producer based in Berlin who specialises in stone cold electro.
Together they team up for ‘Hrái Hötturin’: a fast paced and mesmerising cut with sci-fi stabs and intricate warps before the blistering solo outing from Kuldaboli entitled ‘Hefurðu einhvern tímann hugsað um það’ warps listeners through outer
space at 160 bpm.

Deep driving & pounding dubbed techno where E-GZR's chorded patterns are all segued with its simple palette of wavering EQ'd beats & sonics. Each separate track is like a dub of the previous one and the basic skeleton allows some kicks to hide while others punch the sound system to a 3D outlet box. Or in short: Solidly banging 4 tracker by E-GZR. Loud & heavy cut, beware of needle weight!

After releasing a successful 'Archives Vol.1' in 2017, Italian DJ and Producer Luca Vollaro, aka Electrorites, is back again with the fresh follow-up 'Archives Vol. 2' via his own label Structure Records.
The EP is a hurricane of industrial stained energy, demonstrating a rather free and open musical inspiration and direction. The thick, dense grinding groove define the four tracks.
It starts with "Archive 004" which features powerful repetitive sub-kicks and ends with extremely strong bangs just as if the track is exploding. Distorted and mixed mechanised sounds style Ctrls' remix resulting a very dark adrenaline- charged techno track. In "Archive 005", the sequences and bass loops are stunning and the last-minute banging drum shots will leave you wanting and dreaming for more. To finalize the EP, Endlec remixes "Archive 005" where the listener fully absorbs all the harsh petite details

Following his debut contribution to the label's catalogue this year via the Midnight Shift x Voitax ,"Mothership" compilation, (a contribution saw the artist paired with Veronica Maximova) the Brighton based producer L/F/D/M, also known as Richard Smith, is the latest to join the catalogue on Voitax. Having pushed the boundaries of his own music, Smith managed to release an impressive amount of records throughout the last years and has perpetuated his sound on cult labels such as Cititrax, Midnight Shift, Optimo Trax, Ecstatic and Clan Destine Records. The British producer now returns to Voitax with his "Mutual Autopsy" EP - a strong four-tracker that is characterised by Smith's undenably grainy lo-fi signature. The whole package is armed with heavyweight kicks, bloating basslines and crunchy, percussive patterns, that he perfectly crowns with some memorable and catchy synth lines. The former art student, as well as one half of Bronze Teeth, shows once again his ability to modulate his way into the abstract, while keeping it groovy and warm and firmly secures himself in the ranks with the techno avant-garde.

With releases on the likes of Organic Music, Housewax and (djebali), plus a string of stand-out EP’s via their own labels Sintope and Sintope Digital, Timisoara’s NTFO have established themselves as key names within the realm of minimal and deep house since making their production debut back in early 2008. Having released their ‘Esperantza’ EP on the label last year, here we see the pairing return to Bondage Music in fine form to open their account in 2019 with the impressive ‘Dobr’.
Title cut ‘Dobr’ opens the EP as the duo quickly go to work, introducing a slick blend of sharp drum shots amongst snaking bassline patterns, whilst ‘Blissed Out’ combines organic percussion licks, punch low end tones and warping synth leads to great effect. Next, the first vinyl only track on the package ‘Riddin’ welcomes dubby pads and crisp hats before flowing steadily into the slinking, metallic tones and 303-tinged bass stabs found throughout ‘Standers’.

Purveyors of contemporary electronic music Anagram return with their second remix EP that calls upon some of the scene's most compelling and uncompromising names. Coalescence, the next chapter from the label, will unfold as a series of remix EP's reinforcing the labels core values of community, togetherness and growth. The first instalment reflects on their previous three releases reimagining four titles under the controls of Drugstore resident Tiljana T, Ostgut Ton legend Ryan Elliot, Klockworks artist Newa and the Tel Aviv based Yotam Avni. Orchestrating the rework of Elad Magdasi's 'Liquid Dreams' is Serbian talent Tiljana T who runs with the cinematic ideas behind the original but uses snapping hits, ebullient bass notes and plenty delay to fuel the cut with a new lease of life. The accompanying A-side sees Ryan Elliott do what Ryan Elliot does best by keeping things straight up four to the floor transforming 'Sound of the Siren' by Barbara Ford into pulsating peak hour material. On the flip side are two remixes taken from label co-founder Sinfol's latest solo EP 'Pull Back'. First up, Newa gets the blood rushing injecting breaking beats and furious energy into 'Life Of Measure' resulting in a high tempo no-nonsense techno affair that embodies the sound of the bustling Tbilisi scene. Tying together Coalescence Vol. I is arguably the most dynamic choice of the four remixes in Yotam Avni's 'Final Push' Remix. With a meticulous assortment of intricately crafted synth lines and sequences, he manages to deconstruct Sinfol's title cut of its acid workouts and replenish it with an equally rivalled amount of energy. Four artists, four remixes, Coalescence Vol. I!

Six years before the release of his landmark Mother Earth’s Plantasia LP, composer and arranger Mort Garson met experimental film director Skip Sherwood, who was interested in an electronic score for his new movie, Didn’t You Hear?
While not much is known now about the exact nature of their collaboration, Here's Garson’s magnificent score as a record of those heady, early days after his life-changing discovery of the Moog synthesizer. Notable for being one of the earliest screen appearances by a young Gary Busey, Didn’t You Hear? also boasts one of the first-ever all-electronic movie scores. Though the score was first released in 1970, it sounds as adventurous and futuristic today as it must have then.

David Carretta, well known for his releases on International Gigolo and as a pioneer of french electro/techno, is the author of a modern techno that paradoxically draws its roots in the best of the 1980s.
On Nuit Panic, his first solo album for ten years, the incisive and hypnotic melodies of "Face" and "Prince of the Cook", interpreted by David, or "Dark Candies" sung by the Berlin artist Aga Wilk, evoke his obsession for disco italo and the seductive tones of the synth-pop of New Order or Depeche Mode.
The martial beats and hypnotic synth lines of "Come Here Come Down", "Destination love" or "In case of emergency", recall the sound of the cold and percussive electronics of the EBM, a music nourished by the nihilism of punk and the metallic sounds of the industrial current, which had then invented Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb.
However, on this fourth solo album, let us specify that the French musician is never satisfied with pasticher the music of yesterday. Let's say it draws its DNA, vocabulary and of course some of its instruments, especially its favorite synthesizer, the Sequential Circuits Pro One as well as the Korg MS-20, synthesizers formerly used by Vince Clark, DAF or Dangerous Liaisons.

* Following on from successfully funding her How To Make A Symphony Kickstarter project, Emika returns with a new four-track EP that sees her chart yet more new territory.
* Lead track Flashbacks is a typically haunting affair whose deeply personal lyrics are a heartening example of how art can turn feelings of trauma into something beautiful
* Her velvety voice belies the deep subject matter while the sounds gracefully tread the line between the brooding and the ethereal, with pulsing, filtered synth delays, low register piano bass octaves and a stuttering slo-mo beat produced with The Exaltics, building an engrossing atmosphere
* Restless Wings goes into more experimental territory - both in terms of composition and concept. 'It's about creating a new personality which lives in the internet - something we all know
* Total features the silver-toned soprano star of How To Make A Symphony, Michaela Srumova, and tackles the complicated relationship between a mother and her daughter
* French musician Franck Vigroux provides a stark, shuddering remix of Flashbacks to complete the EP, driven by gnarled blasts of wildly distorted synths and bass grunts, rising to an intense, mesmeric crescendo
* This EP brings together the classical and electronic extremes of the Emika sound, proving that her signature is like no other and continues to evolve.
After a successful inaugural release introducing the lesser known and deeper artists of Melbourne's north, Animalia returns, focusing the spotlight this time on iota. Two original tracks are accompanied by two collaborations featuring some familiar names from the first record. This release marks a natural progression for the blossoming imprint. iota's productions have a subdued and minimalistic style, subtly punctuated with elements of trance and drum & bass, manifesting the distinct sound Animalia has become known for. iota & M?nage produced Kissed by the Spiral specifically for label head Kia to play at Inner Varnika 2020 which, in an unfortunate twist of fate, was cancelled. Now, some months down the line, the song has found its home and audience via Animalia's second release.

Having spent the last few years working in the industry at places such as Phonica, Rye Wax, Worldwide FM & Juno Records, Jeigo’s wide palette and deep crates are evident through his nostalgic, euphoric and melancholic productions.
Focusing on the melodic influences from the sounds of London, Detroit, Berlin, Tokyo and beyond. His eclectic tastes are thoroughly represented in his tracks, with his tendency towards carefully selected emotive samples and rhythms that straddles the void between house, UKG, techno and breaks, to create a unqiue sound that is equally fresh and nostalgic.
With releases on labels such as air miles, Valby Rotary, Shadow City Records and more, there is much more in store in the forthcoming future from the London bred artist and DJ.

Maurizio Vitello returns to Metroline with some seriously deep bass-driven techno. A devastating EP. The lead track is a driving, stripped down techno groove. Full-bodied toms and a seriously fat bass keep the track rolling while filtered vocals and understated synths add the dynamics.
Bourbonese Qualk legend Simon Crab meets Charles Beullac (Galerie Statique) in a volley of brooding, dubbed-out industrial/illbient misfits for Lisbon’s Holuzam, the young affiliate label of the renowned Príncipe Simon Crab is nothing less than a true pioneer of British post-industrial music, with a catalogue of prototypical dark ambient, groove-driven industrial, and hardcore techno practically unparalleled
in his field. In collaboration with Canadian artist Charles Beullac, ‘Kenemglev’ speaks to the range and nuance of Crab’s output while introducing Beullac’s likeminded industrial audness to new ears;
yielding nine tracks of sleepwalking industro-dub rhythms and tormented electronica blessed with a nocturnal allure that places their work in fine company amid Holuzam’s roster of off-road esoteric groovers.
The title ‘Kenemglev’ means “consensus’ in Breton, and smartly describes their mutual efforts to explore a sort of neutral no-person’s-land or virtual middle ground between their respective musical languages. In suit, all the tracks are titled in Breton - itself a mix of French and English - and their un/familiar nature is reflected in the music’s angularities and secretive feel, roving from Mille Plateaux-like glitch in ‘Douakek’, to the air-stepping pads of ‘Direnker’, and crispy noirish jazz hustle streaked with intercepted radio signals and keening crowd noise in ‘Razheta’, while ’Skaotan’ comes off like a glitching Raime workout, and the squashed break trip of ‘Berzh’ recall
Spectre or Scorn.

Industrial changeling Oliver Ho returns to his Slow White Fall alias for a howling and paganistic suite of industrial music in an English medieval Gothic mode channelling Dead Can Dance via Killing Joke, Scott Walker, Silent Servant and Godflesh.
Slow White Fall is the latest of Ho’s revolving monikers (Broken English Club, Raudive, Zov Zov), and here used to signify a shift into more muscular Industrial music that treads heavily to the right side of fantasy dramatic, wrought with a finely crafted atmospheric finesse that speaks to decades of crookedly functional electronic production expertise and an enduring fascination with the darkside. Think ritual music for a bacchanal at John Dee’s gaff, or the soundtrack to a plague rave held in 1347.
‘Pushing Through A Wall’ marks up as Ho’s most ambitious and convictive collapsing of industrial tropes into bleached out acid noise and dungeon gloom. Over the cursed course of seven tracks he works at the tipping point where noise metastasises into a form of industrial blues for the end of days ranging from Adrian Sherwood-era Ministry styles, to Datura-induced panic attack heartbeats and chalkboard sax in ‘Earthquake Seducer’, and Coil-ed noise in ‘The Golden Lunatic Ascending’, with raging highlights in the fanged arps of ‘A Crimson Body’, and a closing couplet of duets meshing doom guitars to sparing etheric female vox with strong echoes of Sunn 0))) & Scott Walker’s ‘Soused’ as much as an instrumental take on Godflesh’s brum doom.

Bezonked, high/low-grade crud from Aaron Dilloway, Nate Young, Joachim Nordwall, and partyrock hero Andrew W.K. as The Gagmen - recorded in a tiny NYC basement in 2012 and now finally seeing light of day on Nordwall’s unstoppable iDEAL Recordings Put three of experimental music’s gnarliest dudes, and their pals, in a room and this is what you get; 40 minutes of charred and gungy electronics with tormented vocals that sound like they just crawled out of a Brooklyn sewer. If you’re remotely familiar with anyone on board, or their various actions between the charts and the gutter, your expectations will be met side-on with engrossing levels of raw tape manipulation and throttled analog synths masticated and spat out in four parts
that hark back to their respective pinnacles of this era;- from Nate Young’s now classic ‘Regression’ seshes, to the body gurns of Dilloway’s ‘Modern Jester’, and Nordwall’s crushing ‘Monstrance’
collaboration with Mika Vainio.
A Swedish newspaper wrote “What the hell is this?”, in a review of The Gagmen’s debut gig in a posh Stockholm hotel, but keener ears will surely recognise the calibre of grot on offer from these dons of the trip metal underground. The mode is slanted and pharmaceutically enchanted, with Andrew W.K. sounding like he’s partied too hard on his pair of severely blunted vocal contributions,
while Dilloway, Young, and Nordwall’s noise supergroup vent crankiest spleen in tortuous tangles of ferric buzz and machine howl, all grungily gelling into anxious, burned-out industrial dub rhythms.
A total headwreck.

PLR is proud to host a variety of talented producers from around the hemisphere, from Berlin to Montréal to San Francisco. The label is a brainchild of independent artist Experimental Housewife and was kicked off by prolific producer Roche (100% Silk, Jacktone, Hobocamp) and his breath-taker A Genuine Effort To Make You Comfortable. Soon after, the spring saw italo-sprinkled dance floor beats followed by slamming techno and weirdo-tronica, a non-genre made of intriguing sounds that play tricks on DJs. In closing, the roster will be opening ears up with a wonderful miniseries of ambient releases before the final EP: arpeggiated pop from conceptual two-man band Star Service .
Premiere producers like Lily Ackerman (As You Like It, Mioli Music), CMD (Jacktone, basic_sounds), Golden Diskó Ship (Monika Enterprise, Spezialmaterial, Klangbad), BLEIE (B.O.D.I.E.S., 3am Devices), Mo Kudeki (Noctuary, Public Works), and Tape Ghost (Asterisk, Night Sea) have all signed up to the roster, releasing fierce and excitable works that they have had for a while but hitherto were not able to release to the public.
Reverenced names like Ryan Merry (now Elexos Park but formerly Ghosts On Tape), Roy England (Make Mistakes, Communikey), Caltrop (In The Dark Again), Loren Steele (Wolf + Lamb, Jacktone), and Philadelphia warriors Sean Thomas (Drumsong, Sound Between Movement) as well as bpmf (Schmer, Serotonin, Prototype 909) have all offered exclusive productions.
Mysterious and up-and-coming producers like Emmett Perlman (Wage Slave, Make Mistakes), Bad Person , gayphextwin (Jacktone), BIlagáana (VODER), and Atlas Of Nothing can be explored in the catalog alongside new names like Memeshift, The Hug , and Jaclyn Kendall .
Our spotlight mastering engineers for digital releases include David Last, Abe Duque, Dark Star Audio, David Tatasciore, and Helen Heß. Our resident and extremely generous/talented engineer for the year has been the one and only Roy England.
'Enter The Dark Planet' is a limited collectors 2xEP, combining different styles of Acid Techno from befriended artists. A nice combination of well known established artists as Olivier Abbeloos & Mr. Gasmask and lesser known quality artists from throughout Europe.
9 tracks bringing you a story of positive darkness, pumping beats and fat basslines.!

INCL. STICKER COLLECTION, DOWNLOAD CODE AND A ROBERT JOHNSON GREENCARD (FREE ADMISSION FOR ONE VISIT). LIMITED TO 500 COPIES
I HAVE LEARNED HOW TO LIVE; GRANT ME, YE GODS, MORE TIME.
Today, a small club called Robert Johnson finds itself in twenty-one years of existence. Taking it by the ac- count of yesteryears jurisprudence, the Robert Johnson club has finally reached legal age.
Back in 1999, the forces behind Robert Johnson, both friends and aides alike, were driven by music and accoutred with a vision, to create a new expansive and collaborative understanding of club culture. To resiliently exist for such a long time, certainly wasn’t laid out in a cunning master plan.
Reeling through the years, we find ourselves in high spirits, regardless of these wicked times today, chuffed and thankful to all the fine people on both sides of the doors, wardrobe, bar, back office or DJ booth: Your love is a life saver2.
Robert Johnson was a master of the American Mississippi Delta blues—a mystical figure, legendary blues singer and guitar player in his own right—who, as the proverbial saying goes, traded his soul to the devil in return for unparalleled guitar skills. Whether this trade actually happened, we shall never know. What we do know is, that Robert Johnson has devoted himself to his music—in this spirit and in our own labyrinthine paths, we devote ourselves to a music club that carries his name. The lines in one of Robert Johnson’s songs advise the living to give all of your spare time, love and to treat her or him, Ed. right, when you got a good friend, that will stay right by your side. A good friend who stayed by our side until his untimely passing earlier this year, was our resident Andrew Weatherall.
Throughout Andrew Weatherall’s decades spanning career, the proper working class lad has been driven by music—not merely into it, as he would have put it, underlining his understate- ment with a chuckle. True to his school of many genres and inspired just as well by literature and art in the far corners, Andrew never would let people know what to expect of him; more often than not testing the musical flexibility and fibre of his audiences, being the notoriously whimsical minister of transcendent expe- rience and alternative fun, who more often than not emanated an air of edwardian dandyism. To the Robert Johnson club and quite a few of its close protagonists, Andrew Weatherall was more than a resident DJ: an excellent spiritual advisor, drawn to subculture and its hidden topoi, who would happily take the piss at any existing rule, as one of his tracks called Frankfurt Advice has literally put it on the record. Few DJs have fully cut the mustard as producers, artists and mentors alike, as Andrew Weatherall has had.
Fail we may, sail we must. Andrew may be physically gone, his spirit and music remains integral and revered at Robert Johnson regardless.
Lifesaver 4 is a compilation as diverse as the nights and mornings on Robert Johnson’s wooden dancefloor. Young talents and seasoned companions have paid their musical tribute in order to celebrate Robert Johnson’s twenty-first year, and to commemorate the sabresonic Captain now resting in his paradise. As the club culture experiences a worldwide disruption in this current stasis, we may find ourselves at the verge of a much needed cultural change. The tracks on this compilation—spread over a sumptuous box set of five vinyls or, mind you, as heavy weight digital files—are the acetates for the future of the Robert Johnson club. At times balearic, discoid, dubby, eccentric, energetic, haunted, lush and raw; they all make the most of it.
Please file under Live At Robert Johnson.
Lifesaver 4 is dedicated to Andrew Weatherall: We salute you!

Summer kicks off with 'How Come U Know', a 4-track EP by accomplished producer and DJ Captain Mustache from Paris. For this EP, he teams up with rave legend Adamski, exactly 30 years after his worldwide smash hit 'Killer', and electro goth star Linda Lamb, who has previously worked with Vitalic. Title track 'How Come U Know' is an electro rave basher featuring Adamski's vocals and cheeky lyrics about the all-seeing eye and loss of privacy. On 'Bliss', the deep and esoteric voice of Linda Lamb takes us to another world without possession - electro wave in optima forma. The remaining two tracks on 'How Come U Know' showcase Captain Mustache's crispy electro pop sound, made to dance all summer long. New York artist Bubi Canal conceived the furry cover art

The second 12" on CC comes, once again, from Hamilton Scalpel. Four tracks of Max Anti-Power Energy, with the last probably being the closest the label will ever come to releasing would could very loosely be described as a "summer anthem". Shouts to our Wes.
Mirrored sticker on sleeve and yellow graffed up label. Kinda like the opposite of the last one. Genius.

One of the most important artists in the development of the Horo sound, Astral Projection is the first full length ASC album for the Horo label. Astral Projection follows on clearly from ‘Imagine The Future’ with the development of the Grey Area sound progressing and becoming intrinsic to a large majority of ASC’s current work. But this LP is not a Grey Area addendum, Astral Projection is a luminous artistic statement from a sonic perfectionist who the term ‘sound designer’ was made to define. An accomplished and much respected ambient producer, ASC weaves his talent for soaring emotive soundscapes with his undeniable rhythmic prowess across a cohesive 12 track sonic voyage that again accomplishes a rare goal in todays electronic music landscape - a commanding listen from beginning to end. Very few artists are as prolific and consistent as ASC, but we are confident Astral Projection will be revered as one of his finest moments in years to come.

On his debut LP Primaer, Oslo based producer Espen T. Hangard presents nine tracks of dynamic electronica in the landscape between electro and braindance. Focusing on simplicity, Primaer's no-frills approach to electro and breakbeats hark back to the origins of the genre, when melodic synth hooks and more traditional song structures ruled the day.
The music spans from the angular and insistent to the airy and abstract, taking inspiration from stringent electro and EBM as well as more playful synth pop. Each track makes its own particular statement before moving on to the next, and Hangard's distinctive approach results in a hand-crafted sound with an undeniable charm. An intense recording period between 2009 and 2012 forms the basis of the release, and the tracks were selected, completed and mixed in 2018.
Primaer was recorded and mixed in Hangard's own Dogskool studio in Oslo and mastered by Robin Harwood (Rolando Simmons, Beatwife) at the Engine Installation in Essex, UK. Canadian artist Tag Andersson made the collage for the cover artwork, and StudioGeist designed the cover.
180 gram vinyl in white poly lined inner sleeve, full color sleeve printed on matte paper, shrink wrapped.
