Matt Edwards launches Stranger in The Night with his first solo material since 2017.
The Rekids offshoot will release regular music by four artists, namely Radio Slave, King
Britt, Anthony Rother and Fred P, who will each drop three EPs over the next year.
'With Rekids being 100% focused on releasing music for dance floors I felt the need to
create a new platform to explore a wider musical vision and invite some of my all-time
electronic musical heroes to be a part of the series,' says Matt Edwards.
Both numbers near the 12-minute mark but each track portrays a different aesthetic.
Opening with precision drums and crystalline notes, 'Ground Control' makes a nod
towards the hi-tech soul sound of Detroit and drives forward using a sultry bassline, erratic
chords and the occasional icy stab as an array of contrasting sounds operate in unison.
On the flip, a syncopated rhythm lays the foundation for 'Last Communication' whilst a
tantalising melody joins poignant synths, constructing a profound and hypnotising journey.

Ravaged and warped breakbeats haunted by wailing euphoric noise, vivid and graphic reflections of fractured post-industrial hardcore, moments of poetry flashing within a thick impending fog. This is our soundtrack. A unique and visionary achievement; a wholly original future of beauty and despair: brutal, gritty, alive and urgent, blooming in the ruins, spiraling and raw, howling with life.

Mid June will see the launch of Echocord sub-label Echo Echo with the 'Dream Observer' EP from Grad_u. Copenhagen's Echocord is a Dub Techno imprint with a history dating back fifteen years and a back catalogue featuring material from genre defining artists like Deepchord, Fluxion, Sven Weisemann, Pole and grad_u who launches the new off shoot imprint Echo
The release opens with 'Jacob's Dream', fifteen minutes of release date: subtly modulating synth glitches, ethereal synth drones, sweeping atmospherics and dubby echoes creating a hypnotic, ever-unfolding composition.
'Observing The Night Sky' then follows on the flip side with thunderous kick drums, rumbling low-end pulses, wandering dub chords and bubbling glitches all subtly nuanced throughout the tracks ten-minute duration.

Hoarder is the latest project in a long line of collaborations between Andy Butler (Hercules and Love Affair) and multi- media artist Joie Iacono. Building a sonic world sourced from organic, electronic, and found sounds, the two have waded neck deep into noise-oriented, darker territories over the past 3 years in the studio, and just the tip of the iceberg is revealed on this first EP with London based Khemia Records,
While the four tracks definitely nod to 80’s industrial and techno, with Butler’s knack for arrangement and tenure producing music, and their combined years steeped in the culture, the Ep feels inspired by the era rather than replication or straight homage.
The intention to create a complete visual world alongside these musical experiments is very evident in the video for “Tetanus Spike”. Culling from her years as a visual artist, working with under names like David Armstrong, Dike Blair, Annie Sprinkle and Billy Sullivan, Iacono’s nuanced and sometimes brutal take on portraiture and her inherent sense of rhythm with the moving image boldly comes through. The anti-aesthetic and chaos they are investigating most definitely reflects from their shared love of Fluxus and Actionist art, and the power of performance. Ultimately, in an existential moment of fragmentation, unease, and a creeping sense of powerlessness Hoarder’s approach feels right. Rejecting the superficial and longing for lost authenticity, the time to destroy and rebuild has indeed come, and Hoarder can and will further help provoke it’s onset.

Charles Trees. Myth, tall tale, legend of a human being, one of those people who one minute you'll be scouring reddit for obscure content and the next, stepping on stage to casually DJ to thousands of people like “no big whoop” at a French music festival. Charles is unassuming, the kind of person who effortlessly mixes ghettotech into soul for lulz, who samples a speech (/rant) by Funkmaster Flex in an acid track, or rides BMG & Derek Plaslaiko’s “True Story of a Detroit Groove” with Velvet Underground’s “Sister Ray” for 8 minutes straight.
Charles' relationship with electronic music started early. In high school, Dave Shayman (Disco D) introduced Charles to DJing and he was a regular at Dubplate Pressure*– Todd Osborn's now-legendary record store in Ann Arbor. By 1998, he was already playing on raves in Detroit. A year later, he was the first person to show Zach Saginaw (Shigeto) to Ghostly International, arguably altering the course of our lives forever. In the late 2000s, they became label mates on Moodgadget, the record label of Jakub Alexander (Heathered Pearls).
Through out the years, Charles has been a musical mentor (whether DJing, producing or throwing shows) to many, danced at every weekly at every venue in Ann Arbor & Detroit, produced Hip Hop, and fronted a psych rock band. He has released music on Moodgadget (US), Musique Large (FR), Lovemonk (ES), Vanity Press (US) and JFX Lab (FR). Today, between DJing, hosting radio shows and producing new music, Charles regularly throws shows/parties/raves, and hosts a monthly at Deluxx Fluxx.
We love Charles Trees and we're proud to present "2019," the eighth record on Portage Garage Sounds.
*Additional reading: Dubplate Pressure: was the precursor to Technical Equipment Supply; how Todd Osborn was discovered by Richard D. James and signed to Rephlex Records; where Sam Valenti IV, the founder of Ghostly International, met Tadd Mullinix (Dabrye, JTC, Charles Manier, X-Altera); one of the reasons why we're all here
"Got No"
Hit the ground running.
Chopped up vocal stabs and a playful syncopated melody accompany this percussion heavy two-step shuffle as it speeds down the Lodge on a Friday night in Detroit.
"Think First"
Undeniable rhythm section pocket.
Acoustic bass and dirty ride symbols swing alongside lush keyboards and sprinkles of light melodicism in this psych house banger.
Think St. Germain with CAN playing a warped version of "Rose Rouge."
"In Arms"
Crave the rave. Whips crack and sizzle in this dubbed out techno slapper. A modern take on a classic sound. Trees conjures an era close to his heart: when the warehouse was church and service didn't stop until the sun came up.
"Acja feat. Marcus Elliot ("12 club mix)
Beautifully understated and triumphant.
This closer marks the return of Detroit Saxophonist Marcus Elliot (Detroit pt II - PGS 001). His notes dance and soar over a creeping acid line, while driving drums and warm pads effortlessly take you home in this powerful house anthem.
User Experience welcomes young German and living meme, Nils Viktor Voss, or Corroid as the world will know him from now on. Corroid sent me a track a while back for mastering... an absolute face melter. I asked him via the medium of dance if he had any more tracks. Now I cannot get rid of him, he sends stuff all the time, if it's not music it's memes. The only way I am able to deactivate the meme machine is to try and divert his attention elsewhere. So, find him on facebook, meme him until he is unable to function. Thank you.
Joining Corroid on this record are two fucking amazing artists who I admire a great deal; Myler and Jasmine Azarian who both execute their remixes with precise brutality. As for the track names I considered translating for the ignorant English (myself included) then I heard Corroid's flatmate say: "YOU CANNOT TRANSLATE THEM, THIS IS TRUE ART". Well that's bollocks but tbh I don't have time for translations.
Invite's Choice Records starts 2016 with a bang and releases another 4-track EP with 4 different tracks by 4 great artists.
Jeroen Search has the honour of opening the EP with a four to the floor track which gets you with it's sporadic melodramatic sting. Perfect for switching between the more deeper and more straightforward parts of your set. Adam Craft continues with a loop-track which is built around it's powerful and deep bass. Thessaloniki based Endlec is responsible for the first track of the B-side and comes up with a track dominated by it's percussive yet simple drive and a synthy vibe which, together with it's short length, draws you in and sends you off in another direction quite soon. TNTUS closes the EP with a track that fits Invite's style quite well; a drumcomputer-driven track complimented with a chaotic, repetitive synth: madness guaranteed! Another great release by this upcoming label indeed!

A rare collaborative statement of Laurine Frost and G76 on Tablon's Ten Inches series. Swinging jazz, funk and adventurous techno utopia in a gentle conversation of sounds. A unique soundscape that stands far way from the actual trends.
Obvious trademarks of Frost's unusual drums and wacky structures give birth to two peerless compositions with Florin Gojnea's floating micro-house visions. Sweet cake for silent rebels.
First Collaborative Ep from the Ownlife Chronicles. The point between the mind behind Semantica Records, or what is the same. Svreca. Joining forces with the label owner. Leiras. Another four tracker shaping the cyclical, repetitive and deep sound characteristic from the series.

This is latest release by London Duo Dark Circles forthcoming on their own vinyl imprint DC Trax. Undoubtedly their biggest release to date, harnessing the full force of their influences of acid, techno, house and rave directly for the dancefloor.
Lariat is a acidic psychedelic spoken word odyssey with an incredible breakdown. this is acompanied by a remix from man of the moment NYC Bunker dj Justin Cudmore. Mandy on the B side takes us back to 1993 the height of rave and includes life changing question for a certain young lady!

Madrid's Analogical Force continues its run and are proud to present 'Welkin EP', second in the catalogue and first from Niagara Falls, NY-based Reid Dunn (well known as WISP) under his misterious DWAALLICHT alias. Many -like us- have been looking forward long time for this stuff, now the wait is over. Just when the 10th anniversary of the still acclaimed 'NRTHNDR' album on now-defunct Sublight label, and six years after 'We Miss You' and 'The Shimmering Hour' on the Rephlex camp, the Aphex Twin-approved producer is back exploring spectral acidish territories, intricate drum patterns with thick synths, nervous breaks and rhythms, nostalgic rising-falling melodies...waving this elements to his will. It seems that Reid has deemed the time right to do what he does best. A record so immune to contemporary styles and aesthetics are almost by definition timeless, and it's tempting to call 'Welkin EP' that. Dwaallicht doesn't hide his influences; AFX, Squarepusher and Mike Paradinas are obvious reference points, but add Tangerine Dream, Phuture 303 or Mr Fingers to the mix and you'll get a sense of the scope of Reid's personal vision. Braindancers: 'Welkin EP' will all remind you exactly why you loved this talented guy for so long and why hes one of the most uncompromising artists working in electronic music this days. Limited to 400 handnumbered copies. Absolutely essential!

LF RMX 016 clearly splits its intention between the two sides. First going head-on and far out in Len Faki's trancey but fast-shoving Hardspace edit of Jesse Somfay's 2005 track ‚Can You See Me I'm Waving'. Then it's all about imagining the place suggested by 'Small Pebbled Forest', where water-like melody sprinkles over deep, progressives basses, and fireflies seem to be lighting up an enchanted scenery.
As usual with LFRMX releases, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded entirely to charity organization Straßenkinder e.V., who are working to offer help to the children living on the streets of Berlin.

Romain Azzaro come's back on his own imprint with a Rouge Mécanique Extended Play compiled with cinematic shaded instrumentals and a heady mix of post-punk, ambient and noise. Bringing acoustic life to electronica, his signature sound rolls over the Ep with elegance and versatility.
Berlin's Sascha Funke weighs in with a hard-hitting new four-tracker for Tiga's label. Hot off his comeback on Multi Culti, this latest EP for Turbo Recordings takes the hypnotic, progressive vibe and drives it a little bit harder, leaning into every snare with precise power, carefully administering tension over the duration of professionally-paced arrangements. Title-track 'IFA,' already a weapon in the crates of Funke-friends like Rebolledo, Michael Mayer and Tiga, sounds like the kind of peak-time party power you'd expect those dudes to pull out in the darker hours of their deepest sets, when the soundtrack calls for more than basic, visceral limb-pumping, but full disorientation, actual mind-losing. 'Robur' rolls out of that space with minimalistic-tribalism, sounding like a mental apocalyptic march, pushing forward with intractable force, an energy which eventually relents on 'MZ,' opening up dramatically with an epic chord progression that blooms into ecstatic, piano-house. Think 'old-school baby,' revisited with bittersweet self-awareness, taking us back to a place we know well, inspiring one last dance, accessing the naive rave-spirit all-too often forgotten in the 'industry'. Finally, 'Barkas' recalls the tones and timbres from 'In Relationen,' reflecting an emotionally placid state, a sound of radiant clarity, the sound of an artist at peace with his place in the cosmos, balancing past and future, energy and stillness, mind and body.

Berlin's Mechatronica follows up on the last Dez Williams EP, with a new VA compilation featuring The Exaltics, Drvg Cvltvre, Le Chocolat Noir and Kluentah.
The Exaltics and Drvg Cvltvre pack the A-side with gritty, hypnotizing acid burners, relentlessly paced and bound to induce frenzy. On the flip, Le Chocolat Noir and Kluentah (50% of Hamburg duo Fallbeil) dive deep into analogue driven electro trips, culminating with Kluentah's 9-minute journey 'Nightliner'.
In 1985, I started working as a sound engineer in the famed Far Studios of German hit producer legend Frank Farian in Rosbach near Frankfurt, and there had an array of gear at my disposal that not many producers could afford, and know how to use in consequence. In the center a high-end Neve studio desk, but also the finest machines created by mythic brands like Linn, Kurzweil, Publison, or Quantec. Confronted with this considerable amount of opportunities on a daily basis, I soon decided to use what I was surrounded with for my own musical ideas, and started experimenting with it in my spare time. My perception of sounds quickly surpassed what I had known before. The equipment offered me many possibilities to position sounds within a song and I learnt how to compose by filling up all the places in between the speakers. There was not only left and right but near and far as well, and even up and down. My preferred perspective grew to be that of standing in front of the speakers, "looking down" on a song from a slightly higher position. The material was recorded on analogue reel-to-reel audiotape, which I subsequently edited and deconstructed manually with a razor blade, an edit block and a roll of audio splicing tape.
After a triplet of solo 12"s, all courtesy of label main man Rupert Marnie, Hamburg-based imprint The Press Group are set to break 2018 in with the multi-flavoured TPG004 - a versatile debut VA that offers a fine close up on the label's whole cast of operating forces with some choice contributions from TPG's core tetrad including Youthman(29), Ten Letu, DJ Dodo and Marnie himself. Mind your backs!
Shape-shifting yet coherent as a whole, this collective effort puts together a swinging confluence of sounds and aesthetics - clearly aimed at the dancefloor but equally poised for laid-back chill sessions. First release on the label to reunite the entire crew, TPG004 mashes up a wide-spanning array of grooves and tempi in exploded view, giving full vent to each artist's idiosyncratic universe whilst establishing a hyper-modern sound ID, both infectiously funky and undeniably potent.
Casting its net far and wide: from the pared-down astronautical breakbeat of Youthman's 'Aemilia' to DJ Dodo's breezy jacking jazz-footwork hybrid 'The Machine' via Rupert Marnie's lithe ganjah-smelling shuffler 'Health' and Ten Letu's muscle-flexing acid roller 'Ah, You Shot Me!', it's a feast of feelgood beats that you're invited to, neatly connecting the dots between the guys' shared love for video game soundtracks, liquid dubstep, heavy jungle breaks, minimal house and further daydreaming, hazy harmonics to drape yourself into.
154's cult 2004 album Strike is being re-issued on the producer's own NWAQ/APE label on heavyweight 180g vinyl. Mixing up ambient, techno and abstract designs into deep, sci-fi influenced soundtracks, it still sounds as fresh and unique today as it did back then, and remains an expensive and in demand record on Discogs as well as an important album that has influenced many producers since.

Ansome returns to Perc Trax for his first original release since his debut album 'Stowaway' was released on the label in April 2016. Since then he has extensively toured Europe and North and South America with his ever changing modular live set as well as further establishing his South London Analogue Material imprint with a run of uncompromising releases.
Despite decamping to Berlin last year 'British Steel' shows there is still a no nonsense UK grittiness to Ansome's music. The frenetic rhythms reflect the pressure and paranoia of London life and for the first time his music incorporates vocals, thanks to the voice of occasional live collaborator Oliver Kohlenberg.
The four tracks take in everything from broken grooves to straight up dance floor face melters with a perfect balance of rhythm and texture. 'Poison Your Body' has been a highlight of Perc's recent DJ sets for months now, whilst 'Marching Powder' was featured on Rebekah's debut essential mix for BBC Radio.

Hide your kids! Ghost in the Machine is back and fully intent on setting fire to your pants with yet another quartet of their unique brand of techno. This 3 track EP comes out from Limited E's vault called Retro Vol 2. Each of these tracks represents the early emergence of Jungle musik from the early 90s. E.Lets Go - This track made in 1992 by Potential Badboy was groundbreaking as it had soul elements n soulful house vocal which was unheard of back then. This track pushed the boundaries in the scene as soul n jungle beats inter-mingled.When it was played by Micky Finn in Ministry of Sound nightclub it was repeatedly jack up on that night.
EE.Part 1 - This track made in 1992 by Potential Badboy called Part 1 has a continued flavour of the original 'Lets Go' with the soul vocals. Pushing the musik further as the scene started to change and basslines became more dominant.EEE.Part 2 - This track made in 1992 by Potential Badboy called Part 2 is a re-mix of Part 1 and continues the flavour of the soulful vibez . With more hardcore n jungle breaks dominating along with heavier basslines this is jungle at its fineness.

From Paris with Techno! Taapion records is back with a second compilation: Four tracks made in the French Capital city with Shlomo, Francois X, PVNV & Birth Of Frequency. Fisrt come Radioactive Sin from one of the label owner: Shlomo. The track has an uptight rythm, giving a feeling of pressure with hopless pads on top. Like an empty landscape after a nuclear war. Francois X is standing on A2 with Dreaming Of The Tesseract. He is building up a hudge loop with the Devil's tension and driving the cinematics Leads as an Horror movie director. Just flip the record and you'll find an other Taapion records owner on B1 : PVNV. He's travelling again In a deep and atmospheric techno with a track called Pace Chemistry. An amazing journey into the center of a dream where techno is a religion. Birth Of Frequency is closing the record on B2. With this track named Child, he decided to recreate his own vision of Taapion records. With that amazing Pad, wich is almost there all the time in the track, Simon aka Birth Frequency catch you on the Techno highway and gives you strong emotions.
Our loyal companion "Steve Parker" continues to raise awareness off what he can do in the scene. This "Interplanetary Dust LP" is another example of what he is capable of. A 2x12" containing 8 powerful tracks that fits right into the resume of our widely ranged techno collection.

The fourth various artists compilation album on Netherlands based 030303 Records... Splitradix has been given the honour to kick off with a wonderfully meandering acid epos, reminiscent of 808 State's more obscure output, with a euphoric element entering about halfway. Zaphyd takes the energy level up a bit further with a strange dry beat driving the tune which is full of melodies trying to elbow each other to the side in the friendliest possible way... Side B opens with Star Flip by Holovr where a series of classic throbbing acid basslines are accompanied by an unsettling melody, not for the faint hearted! The Exaltics' What If We Could is a haunting bubbly motherfucker of an acid track, not totally unlike Polygon Window's Untitled, pure dark bliss... The C side then starts with a brilliantly bouncing contribution containing a beautiful melancholic theme by Piepiep, one of 030303's co-founders. Argentina's Nacho M Meyer is the mastermind behind Planeta, yet another dreamy cut full of Detroit-like melancholy. Zelfkant, the first contribution on the D side, is by Betonkust and feels like a classic Warp Artificial Intelligence armchair track with a touch of wave/electro. One of the best tracks on the comp then, is by Dirty Data, who delivers a track full of twisted breaks, hectic bleeps and eerie synths, mind blowing this one... Kramphaft is behind the final contribution to the compilation, again a sinister and dark one with haunting melodies spun out over unusual hard hitting electro breaks. All in all, very warmly recommended, this compilation full of bouncy and screwed up acid from the sewer!

While listeners are still reeling from the blistering EBM stylings of their previous release, Voitax returns to serve up a divergent dose of grimey, industrial-edged broken beats with the label's eight release "Hymn To Lust". Persistent in their disregard for showboating, the crew continues to stick to their music-before-names policy. No names are visible on the record, for an unbiased impression of the sound. Lo-fi, energetic and crammed with attitude, it combines a dusty, 90's Berlin punk aesthetic with primal tribal impulses. When the sweat is dripping off the ceiling, and the floor is filled with smoke and bodies, this EP will cut right through and set the place off.

Sebastian Mullaert and Kontra-Musik have been involved in a love affair for quite some time - an affair that even resulted in an offspring called The Dance that came out on Kontra-Musik last year. Sebastian Mullaert is of course first of all known as half of Minilogue, a duo so influential in the hypnotic field of Techno that Korg recently named a synthesizer after them. Lately, Sebastian has focused on his solo path under the Wa Wu We moniker, releasing stripped back and personal music on his own Wa Wu We label, the cryptic S.E.L.F label and now on Kontra-Musik. On the title track Travellers, Sebastian Mullaert uses a straight up techno formula that may surprise listeners who haven't followed his move into Wa Wu We territory. You almost get the impression Sebastian buried a recording destined for a rigid techno label in a deep forest back in the 90's and has now decided to uncover it again, finding that the track has matured under the black soil. The sharp edges are now covered in smooth moss and the soundscape is immensely deep and moist. But it's still a vibrant and very much effective track. Above all, it has loads of free space to let the listeners make up their own journeys as travellers into the world of sound created by Mullaert. We float, on the flip side, is a beautiful and meditative ambient piece. It's also the fastest way for the urban dweller to find him or herself floating in a serene lake surrounded by strong, green trees instead of floating in a sea of stress and anxiety. Veyl Industries is releasing ‚Dreams & Memories‘, the debut work from Ori, one half of TV.OUT. This 8-tracker
features malevolent electronics, experiments with noise, textures and blood.
Legend mode has been switched on for Bass Agenda Recordings 90th release, with UMEK s Electro alias Zeta Reticula bringing his distinctive floor filling sound on vinyl and digital formats. In his own words I think this is the best Zeta Electro I have made since EP 2 A1 .
For those who need telling, track A1 on his infamous EP 2 on Billy Nasty s equally infamous Electrix label remains one of the genres benchmark tracks for high energy, techno tinged Electro. A classic, and to say this is his best work since is quite a statement especially given the high quality of his releases in general and particularly in the last couple years when this alias came back with a vengeance.
Already receiving early support from Dave Clarke on his mighty Whitenoise show, these four new tracks are killers , bombs , fire , heaters , and all the other words Electro heads reserve for the good stuff. These are the kind of tracks that unlock that extra energy reserve a weary raver finds when they hear them. Driving, powerful rhythms and infectious hooks from start to finish. Gear changing Electro music at it s best. One for the heads and an honour to release on Bass Agenda.

Silent Season is proud to present Segue's third full-length LP with the label. On his new album, Jordan Sauer explores a new facet of West Canadian natural history. Four thousand years ago, Western Canada's First Nations people migrated into the fjords and rainforests carved out by the retreating glaciation of the last Ice Age. The Island is a tribute to Canada's prehistory and the spiritual journey of a people entering a forever- altered landscape to call their home.
While Segue's last album very much explored a cross section journey of British Columbia from the mountains to the sea, The Island explores the hidden coastlines and inlets that pepper a still- mysterious landscape.
Throughout the album, each song spreads out beautifully as a reflection of the place or thing it's named after and paints a stunning portrait of BC's natural wealth. At first glance it seems like a tourist's guide, but when you listen deeper, The Island blossoms into something deeply personal and moving- a sonic imprint of places in relation to culture. One listen will put you right in the rainforests and mountains that the Coast Salish has called their home.

Xen & Yovav return to Malka Tuti in 2018 with full thrust and eyes to the future. After being responsible for the first 2 releases on the label, this time the enigmatic singer and the influential producer collaborate and deliver 2 original songs. Hayom Etmol is a 100% good vibe diy post-punkish poppy song with a flowing synthetic bass line, balearic guitar riffs and dreamy vocals. The B-Side, Shavit, is a vocal led song, with a repetitive guitar bassline and, trip guitar riffs and a minimalistic drum machine. low fi in its production Shavit feels as if it has been dug out of an abandoned 80s record store in the outskirts of Glasgow or Amsterdam, with a strong cold wave feel to it.
This 7' will be the first in a series of more diy approach to electronic music, song writing and production. Some exciting names on the bill so hold on to your chairs...
Hayom Etmol's artwork design was made as always by Morey Talmor, with a printed inner sleeve designed by the Israeli artist Kobi Swissa and a special silkscreened outer PVC sleeve.
After starting up the infamous Invites Choice podcast series in 2011 and launching his Invites Choice Records with a debut EP by himself, Tim van Paradijs (A.K.A. Invite) continues with a banging follow-up-EP. The EP starts with a percussion driven, repetitive track by the likes of Spanish producer Tadeo, dubbed Deeyiam. This track lends itself perfectly for those deep yet powerful sets. Zadig is put on duty for A2 and deliverd a straight forward yet funky track named Dr. Fastolfe in which the low, bassy synth stands out and just draws you straight into the track. Invite, like in his podcast series, likes his fair mix of established artists and newcomers to the releasing scene. New to the vinyl releasing game are Dutch duo Moving Thoughts; they provide the EP with the oldschool oriented track Lost in which both the heavy-hitting kick and bass and the evolving and repeating synth stand out. Invite closes the EP with his track Micro which shows that Steve Rachmad influenced both his DJ-sets and productions for a great deal. 4 different artists, 4 different tracks but a very strong and coherent EP indeed!

Fundamentum 003 is the second various artist record release of the Berlin based label Atmophile Electronics. All 4 tracks are created by local musicians focusing on playful modular synthesis.
Jessica Kert's opening track is a composition that isn't focused on dancefloors but instead entices the listener into a slowly progressing story, heavily loaded with dreamy synth lines. Next up is label co-owner Sharad Sood with a song that has a powerful kick-bass structure wrapped with complex yet soothing melodic atmospheres.
Leading off the B side is Kangding Ray with a DJ friendly track with a bass loaded punching groove and a friendly, sweet vibe. Closing the record is Naty Seres, the label founder, with a tune that keeps the atmospheric idea of the label at heart but experiments with driving rhythms and darkly resonating sounds.

The title Ghost Frequency works on several levels. I was introduced to the term when I first began learning about recording techniques. It was used (usually negatively) to describe sounds that appeared on recordings due to signal interactions that resulted from “improper” mixing or recording and read as “noise” rather than the “music” that was being recorded. I became instantly fascinated with the phenomenon and intentionally creating these sounds in my recordings by deliberately using supposedly incorrect techniques has become a big part of my composing and recording process, probably the most central and consistent practice of it. I’m interested in how the presence of these sounds, and traditional production’s insistence on eradicating relates to larger ideas about the eradication of vital social practices relating to the dead such as ancestor worship, mediumship and history itself in favor of state and market dictated modes of understanding existence. The internet abounds with references to the the term, but applied to ultra low frequency or “infrasound” which can allegedly be responsible for inducing supernatural perception experiences. These posts from the margins posit a Ghost Frequency that operates on the same level as a radio station, one can simply tune into paranormal activity. It’s also a pun on an imaginary metric of how frequently ghosts might be around at any given moment. The songs on the EP employ (as does all of my music) a large amount of Ghost Frequencies (i.e. sounds that appear on the recording as the result of signal interactions rather than those sounds being performed on an instrument) and they also orient themselves toward interaction with the dead as a necessary component of human experience, and a mode of resistance to state power and it’s accompanying carceral technologies.

Lhasa is the brainchild of Alain Raes from Siegen, Germany. As a teenager he was inspired by Tubeway Army's 'Are Friends Electric' and Art Of Noise's 'Beatbox'. In 1985 he began collecting analog equipment (Prophet-5; Oberheim OB-X; Linn LM-1) as digital synthesizers had started to become more popular. In 1986, New Beat was born in Belgium. Dancers tapped into the darker side of synth pop, and DJs would play 45 rpm records at 33 with the pitch control set to +8. Alain was playing in New Wave bands and had started production work and synth programming for other acts.
In 1988 he self-released the debut Lhasa single 'Acetabularia' / 'Acetatechno', with help from Kris Tremmery on vocals and concept. The record combined the icy melodies of Gary Numan and John Foxx with with the mechanical rhythms of Detroit techno and EBM. Thematically, both tracks revolve around the end of life on Earth, and include samples from 'Dr. Strangelove'. For this first time reissue, we've added 4 bonus tracks rescued from a 1990 recording session DAT tape. These demos show further development of the Lhasa sound with updated instruments (Roland D-20, Yamaha TX16W, Korg 707), faster tempos, and menacing proto-rave energy. All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy includes an 11x11 poster with photos and liner notes by Alain.

Releasing music since 2009 as Sam KDC, British artist Samuel Wood has grown into one of electronic music's most passionate developers of the outer edge. In recent years, Sam has been an integral part of the Grey Area label and sound, a creative musical pathway that ties a musical bridge between 85 and 128 bpm with crafty polyrhythms. As further evidence of his versatility, his debut LP 'Late Night Innominate' Vol 1 (2015 - Auxiliary) was an entirely ambient long player which found favour across the electronic music world for its emotive power.
Omen Rising, Sam’s debut LP for Horo is also his first full length record to focus entirely on beat driven work. The album further incorporates the occult themes Sam has been using as pervading signifiers since his 2014 EP ‘The Order and the Entity’. Musically, Omen Rising sees the Grey Area sound re built into a hurtling fireball of energy stretching the constraints of what we know as Techno until the straps are blown off. From the hypnotic intro beat march of False Awakening to the wrecking ball propulsion of ‘Trial By Fire’ and ‘Eye for an Eye’, Sam flexes his seasoned ability to create ominous sound-scapes brimming with momentous power. An unmistakeable highlight is ‘Coup de Grace’, the first Grey-men (Grey Area x Amen) tune to be released, using the the infamous breakbeat as the exploding culmination of a volcanic build up. ‘When I Was Immortal’ and title track ‘Omen Rising’ take the energy down a notch and demonstrate Sam’s flair for affective ambience.
Omen Rising is a confident showcase from an artist who has found a defining sound and is revelling in his ability to develop it entirely out on his own.

Through a misty, nostalgic lens of long days and nights lost in front of sound systems, Soundbwoy Killah delivers his much anticipated debut album to Sneaker Social Club. True to previous drops on this and other labels, this is rave romanticism with a bite, as much viewing the good old days with a wry smile as longing for their return. Just listen to the opening strains of “Escape Velocity,” as the MC manages a sticky situation and tries to keep cool while sending the crowd on their way “in an orderly fashion.”
As much as hardcore, jungle, acid, techno and house inform Halcyon Daze, the sonic signifiers of that ‘golden era’ of rave culture are bedded in a poignant, reflective shroud. From lingering pads to distant, reverb drenched vocal snatches, a hint of melancholy hovers over these scattered but vivid memory triggers. Reese bass has never reverberated so deep, sirens never sounded so lost at sea.
The real art in Soundbwoy Killah’s craft lies in the juxtaposition between these languid, introspective elements and bright, sharply rendered arcs of sound that bring the music right into the foreground. This isn’t a pure exercise in nostalgia – stripped of their aggressive armour plating, a lot of these familiar elements take on a new expressive identity. Whether it’s the strafing arps in “Tom Loves To Rave,” or softly nudging the rolling breaks of “Under The Influence” into a downtempo, chill-out room headspace, Halcyon Daze proves how much mileage there still is in these battle-scarred sonic tools.
It’s not all one-dimensionally downcast either – “Heartbeats” is a rude n’ ruff celebration of amen choppage, while “Wanna Hold U” channels the ghost of UK garage with one eye cast back to its US house roots. “All Night Long” finishes the record on a charging high, all tightly clipped tech step beats and bright synths that cast their gaze ahead with optimism. The themes of lost love and fuzzy memories echo throughout Halcyon Daze, but rather than wallowing in the past, this open-ended finishing move springs forward with purpose. One gets the feeling there’s plenty more to come from Soundbwoy Killah.

This is the 4th release on RIOT Radio Records, an independent techno label based in Scotland.Subhead is a completely unique techno act whose sound is instantly recognizable and has a well earned reputation for energetic live shows mixing its core techno ammo with both hip hop sound aesthetics and a solid dose of punk rock attitude.
Their previous releases have appeared on various stunning labels including Don't, Neue Heimat, Sativae, Tresor and its own Subhead & 2CB imprints.
This release has three original Subhead tracks, 'Sod It!', 'YKNOT', 'Slagheap' and a never before occurrence whereby Jason Leach has actually let someone remix one of his own compositions. Who's even capable of such a feet ......... Crystal Distortion of course with his remix of 'Slagheap' which is an auditory event of such magnitude it defies all sensory belief.

Since completing his two-decade-long hip-hop trilogy as Dabrye in 2018, Ann Arbor-based artist and Bopside label head Tadd Mullinix has engaged his arsenal of aliases with renewed heat. First came the debut of X-Altera, a new project flexing a wildstyle hybrid of drum & bass and deep techno. Now, he returns to James T. Cotton, a moniker which dates back as far as Dabrye and helped define Spectral Sound, the dance imprint of Ghostly International. While historically tagged as Mullinix’s acid house alias, JTC has always expressed with a more pliable sense of genre, freely fusing an eclectic blend of classic electronic sounds; helpings of Chicago acid, Belgian New Beat, and the leftfield techno stylings popularized both in Berlin and Detroit. With Indigo, Flesh and Fire, Mullinix moves closer to the latter city, adopting a bright, optimistic tone informed by minimalism and futurism.
"I have been more withdrawn and introspective on a personal level, in a positive sense, and I think that fact has made my creativity reach toward feelings about peace, positivity, fantasy, wonder, and openness,” says Mullinix.
The EP is packed, but still playfully ambiguous; a club-ready set built to max out mixing boards with spacious and nuanced melodies and motorized percussion. Five tracks, each with roughly five-minute run-times, offering all but a few breaths in a quest for highly operative dancefloor hypnosis. The record wastes little time locking in; on the first track, “Innerloire Rendezvous,” a dense square kick plows through a brisk four-on-the-floor routine phasing over harmonious synth stacks of rubbery fifths and sevenths. The title track splatters a lenticular static spray between thumping kick, billowy melodic swells, and staticky clicks, snaps, and claps.
Mullinix’s distilled musical vocabulary, developed by his many years in the game, gives the set a misty-eyed quality without compromising its contemporary merit. This is music, inspired by history but fiercely forward-thinking, that feels both subterranean and airborne; in the grind on the ground and soaring above in an iridescent super-charged fog.

'When you put on the first track on the album 'Antisocial Background 2017 - 2019 by Mythologen your likely to think: 'this is THAT kind of an album', and fell happy with that. But Mythologen aka Alexander Palmestal is not 'THAT' kind of an artist and this album reflects his broad musical background. It spans from Japan to USA, from the 70s to the 00s and from cold concrete floors to fluffy cotton clouds. Palmestal, with a background in bands such as Pistol Disco and Iberia now releases his second full-length album on Hoga Nord Rekords
The album is a play with emotions and genres, with unexpected meetings between major and minor keys and is a collection of tracks where Jungle, Electro, House, Synth and Big Beat are deconstructed and put together as relevant contemporary dance music. The production on 'Antisocial background' sometimes sound like a more electronic version of Boredoms but most of the time it puts the listener on the British isles and in the 90's. Palmestal pays respect to his masters but he is not in any way too careful with their legacy and let, just as on his debut album, influences from the 1970's and 80's Nigeria and Soweto.'
Originally released as part of Perc's 'Bitter Music' album in 2017 'Look What Your Love Has Done To Me' has gone from a vocal experiment to a certified festival classic and the biggest selling track in the history of the Perc Trax label. Featuring vocals from UK electronic artist Gazelle Twin the track has grown in support organically, allowing it time to take on a life of its own, receiving plays from an across the board selection of the world's biggest DJs whilst dominating festival sets in both 2017 and 2018.
Now two years after its initial release it returns remixed and ready to take on the summer of 2019. Taking on remix duties are Amelie Lens, one of the key original supporters of the track, I Hate Models, returning to Perc Trax immediately after his debut album dropped in June and Perc himself. Across the remixes I Hate Models warps and distorts the vocal over a drawn out industrial soundscape, Amelie Lens adds a melodic touch to the original's driving rhythm and Perc ramps up the energy and aggression, floating cuts of the original vocal over a hammering kick drum assault.

The new aesthetic is clean, structured, letting the music speak to an audience based on its own merits. SUBJECTED SYSTEMS keeps its ties to the underground scene that gave birth to it but signals its occupation of a different realm than its predecessor inverting the black-dominated color scheme of the underground scene in favor of a predominantly white one.

David Vunk is on the roll as a dj but also he lives the true spirt studio life in his atomic bunker downtown Rotterdam city. His newest work is a 12 inch on his own imprint sublabel Moustache techno series called "Omega Strap EP". The A1 track "Shadow police" is a pumping TR-808 distorted beat with oldskool 90-ies acid and with a dark obscure men voice in it, underground feel. A2 "Pillensmoel" is a pumping electro techno track with acidfunk, crashing snare drums and a dutch porn female voice live recording. B1 track is titled "Come to the house" a funky acid track with paranoid girl shout, some classic house samples and flanged hi hats. The last track is called "No winners no losers" techno with a rolling bassline, a machine kickdrum topped with deep synths. Impresario bone grinder, Justin K Broadrick, has prepared a new album for release on Speedy J's Electric Deluxe label as JK Flesh. Broadrick has resolutely inhabited some dark and punishing corners of the musical landscape in his three decades of music production. Whether as a songwriter, guitarist, drummer, label head, studio producer or electronic alchemist, Broadrick has defined the sublime overlap of misanthropy, noise and arson-spirited audio. Making his initial marks with grindcore and industrial bands Godflesh and Napalm Death beginning in the late 80s, Broadrick's musical career has arched from blast-beats to head bobbing hypnosis. With a slew of recent releases from his JK Flesh moniker for EDLX, Hospital Productions, Downwards, Pi Electronics and on AnD's Inner Surface, Broadrick has increasingly taken low-fi cerebral sound exploration into techno's polluted ozone layer; drifting amongst violent collisions of rusty space junk and taking aim at the outmoded species below.
JK Flesh's 8-track double disk album for Electric Deluxe continues his assault on the failings and folly of humanity with a bludgeoning tour of dub influenced techno. A study in resolution, timber and distortion, the album's tracks are diverse in mood and groove, but are united by the dark, porous and undulating surface texture of rippling analog treatment. Contemplation of humanity's chances for extinction or evolution provided Broadrick with the mental scaffolding upon which the album's inky and caustic eruptions precipitate. Titles like 'Different Species' and 'Super Human' on the album's A-side betray his interest in futurist's trans-humanist musings, while thumping garage baseline and searing interplanetary emergency sirens anchor the tracks in Broadrick's mastery of noise. The album is generally packed with full-form bass, percussion and machine sounds. Though tracks like the B-side's 'External Transmission' juxtapose rubbery and wiry timbers, like the best of acid, over the low-end's boiling black cauldron. 'Earlier Forms of Life' and 'Macromolecules' take morose side-long glances at the dance floor, but primarily develop elegantly grime-filled grooves under the constricting spacial canopies of hyper-detailed delay and reverb. Surface detail and dusty timbers rake the listener's ear across the minimal composition of 'The Next Stage'. The albums closing track, 'Homo Sapiens', drops you into the hopelessly gigantic hull of ship, echoing with sonar, heavy machinery and dulled low-frequencies as your iron tomb cuts across the dead oceans of our planet, or, as Broadrick has spent his musical pursuit, in search of a new one.

Following Hiver's excellent EP, LET Recordings again welcomes American DJ and producer Jon Hester to their imprint. Currently based in Berlin but with previous spells in Chicago and Minneapolis, he returns to the label for a second EP following 2017's Communication EP, and other outings on the likes of Rekids and Dystopian. His adventurous drum programming and high speed techno style kicks things off with Radiance, a manically melodic track that takes you on an energetic trip. Impermanence is a deeper, more cinematic piece that features rueful pads but still a driving drum line, then Stratospheric has huge, hammering kick drums and squelchy synth sounds as well as dancing keys that bring warmth, groove, and soul. Last of all, this high class excursion is completed with Horizon, delivering barreling drum patterns and edgy pads that trap you in suspense as it races on. All four tracks deliver a high impact techno sound that very much looks to the future.

The Eerie label-boss is a regular on the label having put out his Systema album here last year, as well as his Flauto Synthetico EP in 2016. OUFOUFOF represents the beginning of a new turn for SHXCXCHCXSH, one born out of a fresh conceptual approach to rhythm. Having concentrated in recent years on music for more experimental scenes, SHXCXCHCXSH wanted to create music for the club, but not with the usual 4/4 approach. "...the main focus being our relationship with the dancers' minds and how we do our best to fuck with them". Stylistically, the project began with a discussion about rhythm, about what is interesting and what is not. The result is a conceptualized approach, one in which multiple sounds in each track are based around a single rhythmic pattern. This concept has been extended holistically, to track names and artwork. Ultimately, what began life as a series of records has evolved into an eight-track LP of twisted, polyrhythmic studies in pattern and texture. Fresh off the back of SHULULULU EP for Avian, OUFOUFOF, is the fourth studio long-player from the Swedish duo

Following previous appearances on Station Shiva and Discos Pandemicos, Estrato Aurora makes his first appearance on Bliq with some advanced deep techno immersions that match the profile of the label perfectly. "Ursus Dolinensis" takes a slow ride into submission, placing all the emphasis on the low end and using subtle background frequencies to shape out the atmosphere. "Lunanosorex" takes a particularly tripped out approach to electro, while "Glyphodon" adds a little industrial bite into the machine funk framework without losing that steely atmosphere that makes the whole EP so appealing. Leonid's remix of "Ursus Dolnensis" is the perfect complementary addition to the EP - the Dolly and Sistrum artist adds his own rugged deep techno machinations to the track to deadly, understated effect.

The enigmatic duo, Italoboyz, bring their distinct sound to Crosstown Rebels, and invite Crosstown affiliate Yulia Niko to provide the remix.
The original cut of Midnight Summer Dream is a fourteen minute epic journey through time and space. The track is dark and dreamy with Durant's tripped out vocals entwined with uplifting, cosmic arpeggios. Yulia Niko develops a deeper bassline on her take- stripped back with a grungier style.
Italoboyz, the duo of Marco Donato and Federico Marton, have been on a musical voyage since 2002. They have released over a hundred tracks for revered imprints including VIVa Music, Moon Harbour and Circus. In 2012 they launched their seminal label Superfiction, alongside Blind Minded, with the aim to create a movement. Yulia Niko has released on esteemed labels such as Get Physical, Plant74 and MATTER+, In 2017 Mixmag named her as one of their '20 Artists To Know Who Are Rising From The Underground'. Yulia also recently launched her vinyl only imprint, TochnoTechno.

Alex Cortex delivering the heat!! Mr Cortex is kicking hard with a direct and mental techno tracks! Oscillon, A1, is a bleepy affair, direct and repetitive, but please, play it loud and watch. Rheometric is in the same alley as Oscillon but bringing the bleeps and glitches trip even more in your face. Combined with the fat but quirky bassline, it does the peak time techno thing extremely well. B1's title "Shear Wave" does the track justice. Backed by a fat downtempo beat, the distorted 303-reminiscent synth line cuts through the mix in a way that's impossible to ignore. Strain Rate Tensor rounds up the previous three cuts, also in a very dancefloor-friendly manner. Bubbly main lead and anxiety-inducing pad sneaking in the background seem to be the main thing, until another synth hits you as a counterpoint and flips everything upside down. Proper no-nonsens stuff!! (comes on 180grams vinyl)

RM005 : Deemphasis – Reflections Ep
This Ep is particular, it represents the very essence of the Electro style, minimal beats, Robotic voices, melody and a destructive groove….
Deemphasis is a producer specializing in electro, acid and vocoder.
Originally from northern france, deemphasis was influenced in the late 80s by german, english, detroit and belgian techno sounds. in the 90s, he is very involved in the “demoscene” and uses “sound-tracker” to make music. Nowadays, he always uses the same approach. it was at this time that he settled in clermont-ferrand, in the early 2000s, he began to do some concerts and he turned gradually to electro.
In 2010, deemphasis released its first 12 “ep” synthetic cells “on the umwelt label, newflesh records. Then, several ep and his famous album “mechanical beats” on ukonx recordings.
In this ep, deemphasis explores some of the feelings one can encounter in a post-apocalyptic world. The opening title “my empire” is clearly oriented towards the dance floor and features a surviving robotic voice in a hostile environment. An acid base consolidates the melancholy atmosphere. The remix of “my empire” by the french producer “the observer” is a journey with some hypnotizing effects, deep experience and ongoing melodies take will take you to a different dimension, sounds rythmic, mysterious and variable… this remix are like a poetical description of some non-human race or nature of another dimension….
The b side begins with the track “obsession”, presenting a long journey in the darkness. The mechanical rhythm sounds like a dehumanized factory fighting against continuous pressure. The ep ends with a touch of hope, looking for a « rebirth », contemplating the galaxy full of stars.

LumieresLaNuit (alias LLN) is glad to welcome on board another talented Russian producer, Gatilove, and his "Wave EP" for the 8th release of its OFF series.
Just as his predecessors Module One and Bypass, Gatilove shows an unbelievable dexterity in delivering soulful, sophisticated and rousing cuts. Whereas "Marini" unveils a breaky and sparkling aquatic atmosphere, "Wave" brings us back above sea level with minimal beats and daydreaming chords.
LLN's OFF regular, Russian duet Bypass offers a minimalist and charming version of "Marini" to the sound of Japanese-inspired strings. Lost.Act, as for him, restyled "Wave" in to a floating and techno journey at night.
After Moscow-based duet Bypass (LLNOFF001 and -006) and Module One (LLNOFF007), Gatilove is the fourth Russian artist to join LumieresLaNuit, and Lost.Act the fifth.

SoHaSo is very happy to welcome an recently unknown entity on the label, Joannes is here with a fresh sound originating form the North of Holland. We all need to do shadow work once in a while, integrating our inner demons to create a more balanced reflection to carry out our lives from. The Got Needs EP provides the soundtrack for this personal journey, including delightful remixes by Nadia Struiwigh and Melatonin Man.
Got Needs A1 is a powerful groove with heavily driven drum machines and 303 bassline for peak hour introspection, it doesn't get more hypnotic than this. Melatonin Man strips down Joannes' efort into a down- tempo electro afair containing some spell-binding rhythms that sure is to move some boo...
On the B-side we fnd Joannes taking a more emotional approach, having pads and a cross rhythmic synth rif do the heavy lifting. Nadia Struiwigh takes these elements to the outer reaches of the universe. In her remix she slows i down and creates an intriguing dubby atmosphere with dystopian chords and industrial percussion.

Oscillate Tracks 003 is the first split EP featuring resident Johanna Knutsson and alumni Karen
Gwyer. The two performed together early last year, Karen live with her shimmering textures
before Johanna introduced her bleepy tales. Their musical affinity was easily recognisable and
our aim was to bring their dynamic connection from one fleeting experience onto the enduring
form of a record. What developed exceeded all expectations. On Johanna’s side, the Swedish
producer plays with tempo and panning, constructing vast soundscapes on the backdrop of a
dubbed-out alternating bass drum with refrains from her Nord synth rippling throughout. On the
flip we find Karen exploring melancholic ambient IDM, layering sparkling notes over lush
melodies interlaced with rapid percussions, forming utterly exquisite works of art.

Pre-Order. Releases June 21.
Unsurprisingly for a creator as prolific as Muslimgauze’s Bryn Jones was, when he was asked for a contribution for any sort of group project, he would tend to provide more options than necessary. In the case of longtime label Staalplaat’s 1996 compilation Sonderangebot, where Jones would find himself in the company of everyone from Charlemagne Palestine to Reptilicus, the selected track was the characteristically headspinning “Kaliskinazure”, nine minutes of insistent digital percussion bouncing the listener back and forth between samples of wailing women’s voices and a trebly, blurry little whirr that traces the percussion. It’s distinctive enough even among the vast Muslimgauze corpus, but as the continued excavation of DATs Jones submitted to his labels continues, sure enough there’s more to that track’s story, too.
An extended “Kaliskinazure” makes up the second of four tracks on Babylon Is Iraq, although it’s been lost to the mists of time whether an outside editor excised the more drifting, less needling coda that makes up the extra six minutes found here, or whether Jones simply submitted both versions of the track at different times. This more complete version of “Kaliskinazure” is surrounded by shorter tracks, with the opening “Kaliskinazure — Momada” sounding not very much like either track it references (instead being a barely-there wisp of far-away sampled wind instruments and what sounds like treated cymbal sounds) and the title track constantly coming to a full, roiling digital boil. The lengthy “Momada” closes out the album with a different, more tersely internal arrangement surrounding the same percussion pattern that will be familiar to any Sonderangebot fans, although the way the quieter atmosphere transforms the feeling of that rhythm indicates once more than Jones’ way of reconfiguring his pieces over and over was perhaps more purposive and even more effective than he’s sometimes given credit for. The result is a fascinating expansion on one of Muslimgauze’s strongest stand-alone moments.
DEAIK is SJ Tequlla’s third record on his own imprint Shot Of T. A solo affair, where the Berlin based Japanese artist keeps on exploring a variation of different sounds on his new 12″. Thumping Acid, moody ambient, Acid house for a club night, and some more familiar mellow drum machine and melodic pieces. SJ Tequilla’s most varied record to date. Also with an interesting approach to tempo, where each side shifts between 33-45 by preference of the listener. Essential Shot Of T! Artwork by: Fett Burger
DUAT (pronounced "do-aht") was the realm of the dead in ancient Egyptian mythology. The deity Osiris was believed to be the lord of the underworld since he personified rebirth and life after death, being the first mummy as depicted in the Osiris Myth. The underworld was also the residence of various other gods along with Osiris. The DUAT was the region through which the sun god Re traveled from west to east each night, and it was where he battled Apep, who embodied the primordial chaos which the sun had to defeat in order to rise each morning and bring order back to the earth. It was also the place where people's souls went after death for judgement, though that was not the full extent of the afterlife. Burial chambers formed touching-points between the mundane world and the DUAT, and the akh, the effectiveness of the dead, could use tombs to travel back and forth from the DUAT.
DUAT (or DUATRECORDS) is a Label by Amin Fallaha and R100.

When A&R get an email from a legend saying 'listen to these tracks, I think they're up your street' we knew we were on to something special.
Please welcome Biochip with their debut release 'Synthase'. Eight tracks of analog electro and acid techno, all recorded live. Very much of the Selected Ambient Works Vol. 1 ilk. Beautifully noisy, highly melodic and raw, with those emotional mid nineties IDM tendencies that very few successfully capture.
Biochip are Melissa Speirs and Julian Kochanowski from Montreal, Canada. Listening to Synthase you can tell they are huge fans of vintage analogue synths, magnetic tape and drum machines; their sound has a reassuring warmth and human feel to it.
We already can't wait to hear their next live sessions.
Clark revs up the first Throttle Records release with E.C.S.T. T.R.A.X., a double A-side 12” that finds him colliding music from centuries past with sounds from the future. Both tracks open the door wide to echo new modes of production for Clark by joining the dots between two great forms of the avant-garde: Rave and Musique concrète.
Kicking off with Harpsichord Ecst, a track that bestows the original rave hoovers, Clark shoots off a frenetic, rapid-fire outburst that’s driven by the instrument, forging a sound that is characterized as anything other than Clark music. Its peak time 'ed rush is perfectly framed by the use of Clark’s own vocals, which are reminiscent of both Meredith Monk’s ‘Vessel Suite’ and Arthur Russell. Perfectly pitching it, our man explains, “It could sound prancingly medieval, but I kind of took a blow torch to it, and made it something totally different”.
Piano Ecst meanwhile sets out to search and destroy piano hardcore, built around a single broken chord, weaved into a stroboscopic digital tapestry of flute flutters, tuned sirens, whirrs and jitters. Although inspired as much by classical/orchestral and avant garde greats, as dance music, the titles multiple meanings nod to Clark’s foundation in and continued love for rave culture, but also to far older forms of revelry, and a church-like atmosphere of religious rapture, which is clearly audible in these ecclesiastic style pieces.
This fully fired up, within the abstract, effervescent, yet psychedelic electronic sound makes it clear that Throttle Records is a sure-fire one to watch...

Intrepid, hard-hitting steppers from London producer Junior Loves. Self-released 4-track 10" with hand-drawn artwork, cut by Leon at Music House, Very limited press.
Sinewy, hard-hitting steppers from London way. Junior Loves has a bit of form, last seen on Tabernacle in 2018, but this new, self-released, hand-scribed 10", with two tracks served up discomix style, is very much its own thing: a timeless, unpretentious cry-tuff encounter that combines deeply rooted, meticulous production with a rawness and vulnerability in a manner that is properly compelling. 'Banner' and its more stripped, spatial version set the tone - propelled by Shaka-ish 4/4 drum-murderation and bolshy, corkscrewing, blue-going-on-purple synth lines that shrink the distance between early Ruff Sqwad/Rapid instrumentals and melancholic ambient techno. The grimy forward-lean is there also in both excursions of 'The Nore', but this one drifts further into ethereal cold-space, recalling John T. Gast's druidic soundboy cuts, dizzyingly psychedelic but precise and uncluttered, mashing up brain/dance/everything with perfectly judged patterns of attack and decay. Very limited press, cut by Leon at Music House. Massive tip on this one!
Oliver Dollar returns to his own Industry Standard imprint after his debut album ‘Another Day Another Dollar’ and the run of singles on IS were licensed to Classic Music Company.
‘Dreams for Sale’ is stellar collaborative cut with Detroit’s Mike ‘Agent X’ Clark featuring vocals from Dr Tingle Fingers. The single also welcomes Bendersnatch to the Industry Standard family who step up on remix duties. The original work kicks off with a rich house groove, paving the way for a slightly eerie strings loop and subtle pumping bass line which locks you in from the off. Dr Tingle Fingers delivers beautiful spoken word in classic house form proving simplicity really can be key as the track develops effortlessly throughout its entirety.
Bendersnatch takes things towards the backroom as darker fuzzy kicks rattle you inside and reverb soaked stabs float effortless over the even more minimalistic percussion. Tingle Fingers’ vocals appear in stripped back form complimenting the more underground tones of the rework. Dreams for Sale’ is a strong return for the label with two tracks that cover classic
deeper house, and crunchy off-kilter techy vibes. The limited vinyl release will be
followed by a digital release at a later date.

Paralysis met in Berlin last year. Two young guys hungry for life, living together in a small room. Sharing pizza and gear. Both are gifted with great skills when it comes to production of Techno music. Cesar Mendoza is doing awesome with melody composing, Max Schroeder loves sounddesign. Both are hitting the individual spot of our DUAT sound idea and when we heard their first steps in making music, we knew they need to become family soon. So we shared our studio with them in the summer and helped them to develope their own style and our vision of innovative dance music, detached from repetitive Tech House and Deep House trends. We are proud to pre-sent the very first released record ever by Paralysis and the collab between our label owner Amin Fallaha.

KZN005 sees Silas & Snare return to the Kaizen fold with the three-track 'Pressure' EP. Lead track 'Pressure' is a continuation of Kaizen's recognisably weighty bass-inspired sound, carried by hefty kicks and screwed synths after a lengthy cosmic build-up. A downtempo influence runs through 'Dreamscape', the floaty synths countered with skittering drums, while EP closer 'Whistle Blower' is packed with industrial percussion and creepy bleeps made for those heads-down, screw-face moments on the dancefloor. This EP comes three years after Silas & Snare's Kaizen debut, 'Biometric'. Gear up and get ready for some 'Pressure'!
Fromtheoldtothenew was originally released in 1996 and is the second full length on Peacefrog from Steve
'Stasis' Pickton.
Growing up as a teenager in East London, break-dancing and writing graffiti with B12's Mike Golding, Steve
Pickton's musical education moved along a familiar path, from hip-hop to Electro and onto Techno. Schooling
himself in music theory and purchasing a sampler Pickton set about making his own music.
Releasing on a whose who of seminal UK electronic labels including A.R.T., Likemind, Otherworld and B12 under
various pseudinums Pickton's UK take on lush Detroit melodies fused techno, funk, hip-hop, dub, blues and jazz
into a dense concoction all of his own making.
Fromtheoldtothenew saw Pickton slip off his earlier techno shackles and head for uncharted electrconic waters.
The echo chamber dramatics of Gun and wayward lurch of Ale House Blues were a long way from Detroit, while
few tracks have demonstrated the sheer breadth of electronica more dramatically than Utopia Planetia. All in all it's
more jazz, less tech without losing the soul

After DGTL’s first ever Various Artists release it is time to hand over the momentum of the 9th release to one artist only: Lauer. Phillip Lauer has been producing and remixing for decades. He has over 250 remixes to his name, collaborations with Gerd Janson, Fabrizio Mammarella and Tim Sweeney and various EPs and albums under his Lauer moniker. For the DGTL release Lauer gives us the three-tracker Topo Chico doused with his signature sound. Starting off with Inkel Jet 880, maybe best described as a modern Italo track, but without the typical accented vocals, giving you a mean and lean vibe throughout. The thick and synthy bass-line combined with the sharp chords, thumping beat and two effective breaks make Inkel Jet 880 an energetic ride straight to the dance floor. The title track Topo Chico is a softer sounding track with a swinging bassline and high pitched arrangement that builds up to stretched out chords, giving it all a dreamy yet spirited feel. From here on the track continues to build up to various highs, by leaving out the chords here and there, but adding some bells instead, while slowly but surely the chords drop by again and makes Topo Chico all the more blissful. The EP ends with the Topo Chico Tribute mix which starts with an acidic bass line that drops into a bath of soft sounding bells and Lauer’s signature stretched out chords, while the arrangement gives the track a nostalgic vibe, turning more current later on in the track. The tribute ends where it all started, with the thick Acid bassline, making the Topo Chico Tribute mix a perfect ending to the EP. The sleeve of DGTL’s 9th release Topo Chico is yet again custom designed by the duo Boris Acket and Tim Straver.

LONE - ABRAXAS EP IS A THREE TRACK EXCURSION INTO ETHEREAL ACID
Lone reveals the first physical release on his new imprint, Ancient Astronauts, which has been set up to release new material whilst working on his next studio album.
The three track EP, Abraxas, sees the producer carry out his first experiments with 303 acid packaged up in a breakbeat club tool focused sound – an idea which was sparked from hearing friends playing ‘90s drum and bass at slower speeds than usual.
The result is a rip-roaring trio of tracks, with the heavy bass rumbles and searing squelch of Abraxas undoubtedly cementing the title track as the chosen club destroyer. Young Star Cluster follows up with a marriage of the rolling funky drummer break with bursts of 303 acid and Lone’s trademark empyrean breakdowns before How Can You Tell takes us deeper still, with choral pads opening the door to another chapter in the multifaceted producer’s sound.

* Livity Sound continues to be one of the most innovative labels of its era with another essential release, this time in the form of a debut long player from Forest Drive West. This extended 2 x 12' and digital release, 'Apparitions' lands in October 2018 and is a fascinating further development of the producer's intricate fusions of techno, dub and jungle.
* The acclaimed UK artist has released two EPs on the label before now, as well as on its sister label dnuoS ytiviL and the likes of Hidden Hawaii, Appian Sound, and London drum & bass outlet Rupture. Little is known about the London based producer but in just a couple of years he has established his own unique blend of complex rhythms and tactile sound design, distilling a rich history of UK musical influences into fresh new forms.
* This record continues in that tradition with a mix of sparse rhythm tracks that contrast heavy weight drum programming with rich and deft sound design. From menacing and mysterious, to cinematic and hypnotic, it makes for a compelling and immersive experience. 'Apparitions' is a landmark release for one of the UK's most exciting new producers.

Les Points Pay A Twisted Homage To The Early Foundations Of Electronic Music Where Hard To Get Tapes, Dystopia And The Sound Of The Wretched Worker Where Present In Genres Like Post-punk, Industrial, Minimal Synth, New Beat And Wave.
It's changing, the worker searched for post-leftist solutions and got lost.
Nine circles applauded the proletariat and imagined how a community
could be congregated, while screams of violence would be filtered by boiling blood.
Exploiters of labor either find themselves rotting away in a never ending icy rain or are dragging their selfish accumulations on their chests for eternity - while the worker slowly identifies himself as a counter-commodity. Algorhythms (fraud) always mislead - once the worker gets past them only Dis will be awaiting her/him.
Philippe Petit is back on his own imprint, delivering 4 diverse tracks aimed directly at the dancefloor, exploring different shades of techno.
Starting with the metallic sounding 'Killdozer', the record rumbles through with the acid fuelled 'Five Zero'. The flip side opens with the dubby 90's influenced 'See The Light' and finishes with Detroit influenced 'Fracture'.

Caustic, dense and centred around complex but exquisitely executed percussive motifs and driven, rising sequences - many would argue an alliance between Shifted’s heady, monochrome recordings and Lucy’s beloved Stroboscopic Artefacts label is long overdue. The music draws on much of the British producer’s previous work, assembled carefully using a characteristic sonic palette - but as ever, Brewer finds fresh space between sounds - showing off a tentatively more extroverted side to his work.
Title track The Light Touch is perhaps one of Shifted’s more idiosyncratic pieces. Instantly recognisable with it’s heavily granular finish and subtle shifts in delay and reverb composition, the track is rich with groove and moves relentlessly across it’s five minute run time. Seel showcases the artist’s talent for building tension with minimal elements - built around a single warping lead, noise tracks drift in and out of the mix to generate effective builds and subtle releases. EP closer, Mixen, riffs on it’s predecessor’s approach but strips back the percussive elements further and ups the ante with searing drone signals rising up above the lead sequence driving the track.
As ever, Brewer’s musical output looks to the heart of the genre - remaining true to purist sensibilities that favour economy of sonic components and studio prowess over unnecessary fanfare, but all the while forging new ground & refining a genuinely personal aesthetic. A powerful debut on a label in fine form that represents some of the best of the British artist’s work.

A very rare remix package of STL's original material from Sebastian Mullaert on very limited edition 12" vinyl.
When I get a request to do a remix, I take that as an invitation… an invitation to express.
The sounds from the original composition become doors / gates… stepping stones for me to travel into this very moment and investigate how it is always changing (that changing being me).
I start working with the sounds… looping, playing, shaping… like a ceramist working with the clay, a painter working with the brush and paint, or the baker working with the dough. This process becomes a mantra; a meditation, and my studio becomes filled with sounds and rhythms… echoes from the original song, filtered by this very moment, temporary passing through "someone" being called Sebastian Mullaert or Wa Wu We.
Expression taking place and there are "NO MORE WORDS". Music becomes being, just Being.
STL is one of my absolute favorite artists, this specific invitation felt very special to me and the journey around the creation of the remix has been very deep.
Now I invite You to take part of it, let your consciousness express this very moment through the experience of the music. Again, being is just Being.
Much love
Sebastian Mullaert & Wa Wu We & …

Disordered Kind is a common project of two DJs and techno producers - Leia Drex from
Bratislava, Slovakia and FNX from Kittsee, Austria.
Their debut EP "Fatum" is the first release for the small Austrian label Mai Lei Bel and consists
of 4 tracks full of an unsettling, oppressive and tense atmosphere.
From the introductory scary number "Awaken" through the nervous "Inkin", unfathomable
"Khorin" up to the destruction of "Eiron", "Fatum" gets under your skin on each listen and is
guaranteed to make an impression on every DJ or home listener.
Pure, real, genuine techno for courageous ones, put together without any pretension or
compromises. Interested in giving it a try?
