Lucidflow make a ninth journey onto wax with label co-owner Nadja Lind's 'Tribe Dub', and no punches have been pulled with the array of top drawer remixers on board - featuring Brendon Moeller, Tigerskin & Jack Jenson, and Terry Lee Brown Jnr. Nadja's original fires on all cylinders with a frantic sub-bass assault that isn't going to be happy unless your lungs have been thoroughly bruised by a main room's speaker stack. As the bass tumbles, phasing dub stabs gracefully arc into the stratosphere and back again.

Production veteran Brendon Moeller steps up first on the mix with an interpretation that plays on the dancing dub elements of the original. A bare percussive anchor runs through the track allowing the rest of the elements to waltz around it in a shimmying and synchronised display.

Usually present under the Dub Taylor guise, Tigerskin adopts his main identity in tandem with Jack Jenson to bring a bit of dreaminess to the dance floor thunder of the original. Here, the elements are whispered, like the hush of walking out on a first light and frost covered morning. As the frozen pads thaw out, you emerge from the countryside into the hustle and bustle of the city, with apt field samples layering over the subtle and insistent groove.

Plastic City head honcho Terry Lee Brown Jnr is given the task of tackling Nadja's stellar 'Ignore And Block'. Like Tigerskin & Jack Jenson before it, the theme here is frozen melodies over precisely deployed percussion. Anyone familiar with his work will immediately find them at home in the deep-but-tech groove laid out over the track.

Coming out in 2017, the release will surface on smouldering orange marbled vinyl.

Hailing from Southampton on the south coast of England, Affie has been producing techno, acid, and house music for over two decades. Launching his career in 1993 on Ferox Records with Russ Gabriel, this was to be the first of many record labels to be run by Affie. He has gone on to grace heavyweight labels such as Force Inc. Music Works, Superstition Records, Inertia as well as founding 909 Perversion, House of 909 and now FINA WHITE.
The lead track, 'Roland Hardware', builds in energy from its intro of dark distorted vocals into trippy, acid fueled masterpiece. With its looping hooks it steadily increases in intensity to a crescendo of the kind of distorted bliss that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. An underground floor filler that harks back to a golden age of acid house.
Taking things a little deeper, 'Shinkantuiisu' beautifully combines infectious funky grooving percussion with a dream esque melody. An elegant track with an enticing refrain and a rhythm that will have feet tapping and get any party started.
'Spirit Acid' rounds off this EP in fine style. This is acid house in its purest form with 909 beats, piano and a driving baseline. A psychedelic journey that is bound to get a great reaction in peak time sets. With this EP it is evident that Affie's passion for acid house is as strong as ever. Aphrohead's first full-length album, Resurrection, in over decade has recently been released, one of the standout tracks 'Grown Man Cryy' sees a single release complete with a superb Carl Craig 'Brainy Grimlin' rework.

A heavy Detroit influence can be heard in the Aphrohead classic 'Grown Man Cryy', fittingly reworked by the master of the techno scene Carl Craig into a pulsating anthem suspended in time. The original cut (as put into words by DJ Mag) acts to 'remind the world of the depths of talent and personality that made Aphrohead such a perennial force previously.'

Aphrohead created a precedent in 90's techno on halcyon labels Bush, Global Cuts, Power Music, Thee Black Label & Radical Fear. His Felix Da Housecat alias went on to form the epicentre of the electro-clash scene and it was through this alias his friendship began with Crosstown Rebels pioneer Damian Lazarus, then at City Rockers. Carl Craig is a key player in Detroit's techno sound, recently releasing 'The KMS remixes' and consistently delivering on his own Planet E label. He began recording at the turn of the 1990's, using a number of aliases to release innovative ambient, techno, breakbeat and future jazz sounds including BFC, Psyche, Paperclip People, 69, Designer Music and Innerzone Orchestra. He is also the co-creator and artistic director for the widely successful Detroit Electronic Music Festival.

Since its birth in 2002, Truesoul has grown into a solid, dependable label. Known as Drumcode's little brother, Adam Beyer has taken Truesoul and twisted it into a platform for new and emerging talent to be thrust into the world of electronic music. Femur Rec makes its debut as a recording label with a 12' by the Scandinavian trio, Frak. There is not much we can add about these three brilliant Swedish artists, as their decade-long careers begin in the mid-eighties and is full of references in well-known labels as Börft Records, Lux Records or Dark Entries.The first reference we are now presenting is a 12' called Diseases. Roman needs no real introduction. Let's just say this prolific producer has a hugely varied discography stretching back to the early 90s, putting his hand to Techno, House, Acid, Electro, Ambient, Bass music... you name it, he's done it. It goes without saying that Phonica are extremely proud to present a brand new release from one of electronic music's truest talents!

The 'Black Acid EP' began life way back in 2013 as Phonica sourced material for their 'Ten Years Of Phonica' compilation. Roman's hypnotic, restrained percussion jam 'Giant Talking Vegetable' was one of the understated highlights of the release. A few years and countless email discussions later, London's leading independent record shop happily unveil a 12' with four new tracks of pure Flu¨gel black magic.

The ominous 'Too Hot To Sleep' begins proceedings and holds the listener in suspense, never quite giving way before the mood deepens even further with 'Troubled Mind', its tense melodies teasing then finally succumbing to long-awaited release midway through.

On the flip, title track 'Black Acid' continues the record's dark ritual, an off-kilter drum workout over a sea of uneasy pads with a needle sharp synth line eventually piercing through the murk. Finally, the clouds begin to lift for the beautiful and otherworldly chords of 'Work & TV'. Light at the end of the tunnel after all...

Lucifer & Lust is a 10-inch mini album by Dmitry Distant, showcasing the diversity of his talent. The 6 tracks by the Russian-born artist who currently resides in Latvia reflect the atmosphere of the Baltic and the mystic sides of electronic music. Showing where his devotion lies, Dmitry experiments on the verge of techno, wave and industrial. On this mini album, he grasps our attention with minimalistic trance-like rhythms covered in fluctuating painful melodies, using wonderful analogue sounds and exotic instruments such as the electric violin.

'In Spaces', composed by the Brussels based producer Haring, talks about what is living between several spaces and places, the feeling of having several homes and the ability to appropriate these spaces. Haring has indeed composed this album between Brussels, Paris and Istanbul. The encounters, the anchoring and the discovery of these cities come together in these ten titles which are each in their own way an ode to these cultures which opened new musical perspectives for him."

Jesse Siminski otherwise known by his DJ name Heartthrob and as label boss of imprint ISNISNT, returns with a fierce 4 track EP (5 tracks Digital) of jacking modern acid funk. Heartthrob has been producing for over a decade and his innate ability to create cutting edge and propulsive techno grooves has kept him busy with a touring schedule that takes him across the globe, as well as a new party series named after the label. His third release titled 'Haus Arrest' begins with the track 'Never Wanted One.' This track builds upon a solid manifold of thick arp bass, dusky synth melodies and sharp TR 909 drum work. Midway, a complex and funky bass line propels things forward, working with the jacking drums and spare synths. The release continues with 'Hours Lost.' This track fuses codes of Detroit techno with spinning Latin tinged drums and a rough funk tinged arrangement. Industrial stabs bounce and build until the main melodic theme rises and burns. 'A Fete Worse Than Death' moves through swinging drums, steady pulsing synths and a growling bass that builds to a crescendo of warped cosmic techno. The last track on the Vinyl 'Does Your Car Know' is a straight and steady drum led jack track. The pitch mutates, shifting through acid bass and more Detroit reminiscent pads. Finally, a bonus for those buying digital is a stripped down version of 'Does Your Car Know' which cements the infectious impact of the EP.

Embryonic EP by Columbus, OH artist Titonton is brought back to the forefront exactly 20 years after its original release on Metamorphic Recordings. 4 tracks of that warm and deep Midwest Techno like nobody else can do it. Titonton's totally unique style has definitely withstood the test of time, and like most music created independently of trends it will always sound fresh. We're living in the times that this music was created for and later on down the road when space DJs play these cuts from the Orbital Terrace, it will be for their times too. Out of print since the initial pressing it has now been remastered from the original studio tapes for optimum sound quality.

Deconstructed EBM from the Nous affiliate Spoiled Drama kicks off the new Science Fiction compilation - 10 tracks of crazed machine grooves further diversifying the Science Fiction's exploration into synthetics. Following his recent credits on Frank Ocean's Blonde and Endless, Vegyn steps out of a two year hiatus with a new 12" single on his 'PLZ Make It Ruins' label. 'Phone Phoneys', the title track, immediately delves into familiar and focused textures backed by woozy synths, dancing between glitzy euphonious melodies. The drums and rhythm section channel the energy of prior dance classics but still feel eager and original in their deployment. On the flip side, 'PLZ XX' diverts listeners expectations by jumping between several frenetic moods, all whilst maintaining an energetic frivolity found throughout the record as a whole.

A relative newcomer, Antigone joined Token in 2015 after a succession of releases on well-respected imprints such as Concrete and Construct Re-Form. His first Token record was a 2LP statement of purpose, with hints of neo-classical ambience in the opener into decisive, utilitarian mesmerism for the dancefloor in later tracks. He returned again earlier this year with the Saudade EP for TOKEN59; an overall heavier offering that still manages to retain some of the delicacy of the first.

Now he's back with a 3 tracker for TOKEN68. Antigone employs an advancement on his usual sonic vocabulary to produce yet another record of surprising techno tracks. Static's lead is woody as it begins, then evolves with gradual accents - a confident off-beat hi hat and detailed highlights varying in aggression.

Shadow Play starts out more panicked than playful, then straightens out under the driving percussion. This track is all about noisy atmospherics, confusing our sense of space through masterful panning.

Where the A-side is staunchly anti-melodic, Walking Distance is dulcet in comparison. Amusing hi-end synth work captivates over a practical but absorbing bassline, gradually building just enough to keep us gripped without succumbing to extravagance.

Footwork label boss Jay Lumen is back on board with two massive Techno bangers."Warehouse Trip" is a rolling peak time ride with some nice old school elements.You can hear special dusty stabs in the break to add the right balance for the track."Search" is a chord oriented anthem with great bass synth sprays on a fat kick and bass line.It has a nice contrast and leads you to the dance floor step by step.

Oscar's Blood is Peter Van Hoesen's tenth solo EP for his own Time To Express label. It features four new tracks, composed and refined in the producer's Berlin studio and properly tested during several shows in late 2016 and early 2017. Both Oscar's Blood and Circumference 12 feature Van Hoesen's take on driving and hypnotic techno. He applies a different approach to Unit Prep and Theoretical Terminal. Both compositions take their cue from subtle yet vibrant percussive patterns, extending into blissful atmospheres.

PILO makes his full-length debut on BNR with the pure dance-floor grit of his Original 'Flourishes' EP. Following his breakout Boys Noize collaborative single 'Cerebral' and Miami Noize 2016 highlight 'Break Me Down', the rising star has hit full stride with a four track assemblage packed with his signature textures and ethereal mesh. 'Flourishes' brings out PILO's full range as it puts forward both the relentless darkness seen in past
productions coupled with a fresh emotive momentum exemplary of a year locked away in his Los Angeles studio. The result is a new direction for PILO and an evolving soundscape far beyond his years. And his mom loves it.

An unreleased classic from the vaults emerges with beautiful reshapes by cv313 (recorded and reshaped from 2007-2016) This is where the sound of cv313 was realized, culled from cassette tapes recorded live (1995-2000) with nothing but analog/digital hardware, no computer in sight (excluding our Commodore 64 midi sequencer, which is still alive and well today). The radius project has been absent since the final release in 2001, the first 12" appearing in 1996 (limited white label run of 100 copies pressed at Acme pressing in Canada) after revisiting these works we realized there was truly some magic here. This project was initially sent to Rod Modell & Mike Schommer shortly after they launched their brilliant deepchord label in 2001. They were incredibly kind in saying it was the best demo they had ever heard and passed it on to Octal records for release, sadly, that didn't materialize and since then these masters have been collecting dust in our cassette rack for nearly 20 years now. We've spent months doing our best to restore the old tapes from our Tascam 688, an 8 track cassette recorder purchased and abused since 1992 and to our ears still sounds quite impressive even by modern standards. (that is of course, if you can get past the tape hiss) We've had nearly every component replaced and re-calibrated to bring this obsolete machine back to life, it's been a truly nostalgic experience re-visiting these masters.

Written and produced by radius (1994-1999) restored from analog tape. reworked and reshaped by cv313 (2006-2016) mastered in echospace. We truly hope you enjoy reliving these magical times of music, very inspired by all that was happening in those years, there was just something in the air, an undeniable energy, long may it live on...

It's about fierce and heading forces, flashing shades coming out of nowhere. Inspired by the unique and inhabitable nature of the eponymous island, Heard Island creates a dichotomy with previously released material, focussing on more Techno, Ambient and abrasive sonorities.

*As sometimes it is the case, birth might also bring the end of something else. For its first release, Heard Island introduces the last release of Canadian Jesse Somfay under his Borealis persona. To complete his legacy with his Voidness and Glittervoice albums released on Origami Sound, Vivipary consists of throbbing Techno pieces while keeping the same techniques and textures from Borealis' previous work. Heartshell comes out as a perfect sum of Borealis work, joining lush vaporous string pads to pulsating and harsh percussions, somehow bringing it close to an abstract idea of early 90's Trance, while Wild Blue Rose puts out an ominous voice and psychelic percussion, making it reminiscent of older cuts of Tribal Techno. Remix-wise, Mondkopf takes the more abrasive aspects of Wild Blue Rose and adds power chords and relentless melody, turning it into a more industrial cut of the original. Heard island's head Axel Helios made two different remixes of Hearshell. The first one, exclusive to the 12' of the release, takes the melodies of the original and turns it into an Acid Break jam. . This conclusion to the Borealis alter ego creates the foundations on which Heard Island will build.

Brassica's turn for Vivod in 2017 see's him on top form following his release on feel my bicep late last year. His Blue Function ep is a mixed affair with opener Coco Diaz starting procedeengs as a weirdo acid burner. We then have a u turn with splash, more of a new age type track but still with that unmistakable Brassica touch. On the flip Nothing to say is an unsettled beast with horror vibes and things are rounded off with title track Blue Function, a more laid back shroom opus. Blake, Eddie, Santonio & Thomas have joined forces as the unit FOUR313, a group name with meaning and purpose, and that is to preserve Detroit's "true" history in dance music and support the DJ culture through vinyl releases. The debut album of FOUR313 will be released with the launch of their new record label called "Ther Label". FOUR313 will collectively release special limited edition vinyl of brand new recordings starting at the beginnning of 2017.

James Ruskin's Blueprint sub-series is back with a newly re-mastered reissue of this classic Oliver Ho four track EP from 1999

We're not done celebrating our 10th Anniversary at the Still Music headquarters and we've decided to continue diggin' for some treats from our vaults.

After we've released the critically acclaimed "Kill Yourself Dancing! The Story Of Sunset Records Inc. 1985-89", a lot of our friends were asking us for some specific 12"s to be repressed. We felt obliged to comply and here we go with three of the most significant 12"s from Sunset Records Inc.

Let's start at the beginning with a one of the first house 12" released in Chicago in 1985 by Razz aka Matt Warren & Ralphi Rosario.

This 12" was mixed by the mighty Farley Jackmaster Funk and recorded at the seminal Chicago Trax studios where legendary Chicago classics records were produced. Matt and Ralphi where childhood friends and this is what they wanted to do in '85, a 12" that they could play out at their parties... The result is stunning and is one of the rarest document to the birth of House music in Chicago.

Label boss Sasha Carassi showcases his constant evolution in this three-track EP and 'Soundsphere' kicks things off with unmistakeable, mutating stabs intertwined with haunting background synths. 'Starchild' picks up from there with its rubber-band bassline and streamlined electronics, and introduces what can only be described as mutant sci-fi chords. For the closer, Mr. Carassi has put together the aptly-titled 'Drop Of Soul' in which trademarked synths pave the way for nostalgic arpeggios and dissonant electronics.

Absorbing limited vinyl only VA for the Romanian imprint's third release, carrying on the exceptional quality of first two releases. Rich NxT (Fuse - London) gives 'Penchant' for the A1, his first original material outside FUSE London and INFUSE for 5 years. The track is strong, laid heavy with bass and groove. Throughout the pace is kept and atmosphere whipped up with heady sounds that breeze through the listeners mind. Following on A2, Iar (Pleasure Zone - Romania) and Panni (Hund - Italy) continue their cross country alliance and raise the tempo with a skippy and dubby roller, whose insistent rhythms give a fully locked groove, interspersed with vocals and strings to pull you this way and that. Flipping over, Japan's Standard Fair, yet again demonstrates his elegant and sophisticated style with a beautiful piece of original house music, with a lush synth playing tag with tight percussion and uplifting bass. Bringing this stunning release home on B2 is Andrea Biana, a trusted colleague of Panni (Hund - Italy) , who projects a sunkissed track of melody and bubbling sub bass, layered over precise drum stabs and snatches.

His mixing style, prepared for hostile engagements as it is, throttles techno into counter-gravity forces. After a 3 year hiatus from his Avatism moniker, Thomas Feriero, one half of CW/A and owner of Parachute records, returns with an EP for his home label Vakant. A rough yet refined release, unassuming in its effort, Thomas channels both his previous solo work and his CW/A project into a tightly wound package with 4 solid cuts. Various influences converge yet a straight line is etched for all to follow. These are up-front, hard working tracks. Body Music with an undercurrent of breakbeat. Widely regarded as pioneers of PC Music, Blacknecks are proud to unveil their final and most shambolically cobbled-together record to date. After 6 half-arsed releases, a couple of half-arsed gigs and a brutally honest interview in a popular far-right culture pamph, all while managing to maintain their stellar UK garage careers, Blacknecks are now dead.

This final release contains seven new tracks, plus one which wasn't quite good enough to go on any of the first five EPs. It features toe tapping minimalism, knee jerking industrial, tear inducing melodies, fist clenching hoovers, a novelty track that really shouldn't have made it onto the record and a whole mess of shite that they would be ashamed to release under their own names. Packed with obscure literary references from one of those books that they saw for sale somewhere, Blacknecks tread the delicate line between the Apollonian and Dionysian, by throwing any old bollocks together and sucking up the acclaim. It is, to put it simply, the single most important record of the 21st century. If you disagree, you are wrong.

Planet Rhythm is steadily working its way towards a respectable 70 releases. During the last couple of years the label has brought some of the best underground techno and the future is still pretty bright.
Again its time for the Spanish connection in the form of Exium! These guys are known for their extremely well crafted work on Nheoma and Audio Assault. This is no exception, deep spaced out techno that works perfect on the dance floor.
Audio Assault label boss Bas Mooy has shown to be a talented producer over the last few years. The man from Rotterdam has stayed true to the darker sound of pure techno. This stuff is the result of the fact that Bas was born and raised in one of the worlds most technoid cities - molten metal and gallons of raw oil seem to be pumping thru this mans blood vessels..!

After Jonas Kopp's well received recent Ep, EarToGround quickly returns with our second release of 2015 this time round in the form of label boss, Gareth Wild's first Ep on the label.
