Ahead of the release of his next full-length album on Creme Organization, irrepressible Dutchman Legowelt has readied a new EP. This EP features four tracks, one of which is Crystal Code 2080, which will also appear on the forthcoming album Crystal Cult 2080. The EP starts with the track from the new album. Coated in melodic mysticism and alive with many impish synth spirits, a celestial mood pervades the whole track as jumbled acid lines and jacking percussion fill in the foreground with plenty of energy. The other three tracks are just as muddled and multi-layered, texturally rich and typically Legowelt. They include the eeriness of Majestic Alchemy, the stormy and filmic emotions of 'Mistral' and classic house jack of Do What U Gotta Do with its mesmerising synth lines and deep moods.

With L.I.E.S. 50th official release, London's Randomer appears as the first British artist to release on the label with his 'Residents' EP.
On this EP we get three out there diverse tracks with the title cut being a moody rhythmic, heads down yet upbeat percussion driven affair. 'Jakobs Dream' steps into the abstract tweaked out techno world, while 'Huh' which fills the entire b-side is a massive massive electro cut for the floor.

The Maghreban returns after the success of the Afric 12" to take a little trip through space with two Star Trek inspired cuts.
Amok Time is an ode to the brutal Vulcan mating ritual and is punctuated by a large laser and heavy 90s progressive House sonics. The Empath is more mournful and melodic than previous excursions, perhaps even world weary.
Radio Play from Benji B, recommended at Sonic Router.

System Fork was designed around the principle of Itamae, where ever detail was described and thought about before any work in the studio was done. This process took two years before a set of rules and principles were fully realised for the creative process in the studio.Working with Human & Shaun Bloodworth, Application also applied more design aesthetics to artwork, videos & photographs which will become the prototypes to a live show with video.Application are Martin & Richard Dust.

In contrast to his 'Heart' release, Scrase's 'Another' EP provides a dark and twisted journey down more alien avenues - the streaming melodies & warm atmospheres of the previous EP supplanted by arcane wooden rhythms and mechanised bass movements. A small collection of club-engineered tracks displaying a wider range of styles sit amongst intricately constructed percussive tracks, topped off with a brooding remix of the title track by the ever consistent Irish techno duo Lakker. Whilst 'Another' delivers a slab of crawling, warehouse-weight with an Eastern flavour, 'Movon' provides a minimal take on UK bass music fine-tuned to devastating effect. The three percussive tracks littered throughout the release explore a very different angle, combining dusty wooden rhythms with dread-filled tones and complex manipulations, lending the diverse collection of tracks a strong ritualistic feeling.
The first of three percussive tracks, 'Perc 12' opens the EP on an eerie tone utilising primal patterns and tribal timbres; providing an organic, intricately carved backdrop to the rest of the release. Each with their own nuances, all three percussive tracks give a deeper insight into Scrase's output through complex polyrhythmic arrangements.
The title track 'Another' layers similarly rhythmic wooden percussion into a more regimented structure, bolstered with bone-rattling thuds and topped with warm tropical tumbles. The track's dance-friendly framework is offset by Scrase's impulsive twist on the traditional techno blueprint, craftily playing with the listener's expectations.
The Lakker remix of 'Another' heightens the hypnotic nature of the original, slicing the percussive elements into grainy syncopated rhythms bristling with a feral industrial edge. 'Movon', the first track on the B-side, instantly leaps into action, with huge 808 kicks and tight percussion providing the backdrop to a razor sharp, shapeshifting bassline. Using stripped down, barebone elements, Scrase create's a truly original hybridisation of styles, a hallmark which is consistent throughout his work.

Already supported by: Richie Hawtin, Mauro Picotto, Laurent Garnier, Max Cooper, Paco Osuna, DJ Misk, Matthias Springer and many more!! Marc de Bell delivers to us the suitable soundtrack with his fourth vinyl publication EDELKNARZ on the Berlin label Keymono-music. Marc is originally from Germany and now lives in Switzerland. Particularly rough and technoide Berlin is deeply in him. The sound of Edelknarz is more fashionably of dark techno which on would not like to put really so surely in a drawer. One loses himself fast in the three-dimensional structures and the psychedelic sounds. The remix of the Frankfurt LK-Records of founder Lars Klein sounds extremely full and transports Marcs psychodelic vein with a special push in grooving an energy. Further support was given by Marc Rhinelander Nina Divorce with its deep and emotional acting interpretation, rounds off the release really succeeded.

Montreal's Clarian drops his first EP on Turbo, backed by remixes from Iron Galaxy and Sei A
Visionquest & Supplement Facts regular, formerly one half of Footprintz, and A&R at Seth Troxler's new Soft Touch imprint, Clarian has been steadily developing a solid portfolio and reputation. A prolific artist with more than just production skills, he clearly has a special talent for songwriting and a gift for melody. Up until now he's been notably unconstrained by the narrow limits of EDM genre-fication, and this EP is no exception, as he confidently explores a new direction..
Drawing influence from the bittersweet, emotive sounds of deep, post-Burial UK house, 'Road to Recovery' shimmers with romance and nostalgia, a rare case of hauntingly beautiful, yet easily playable dance music. The warm textures and ambient backdrop are just as rich on 'Who Are They to Judge Us,' which adds skillfully cut vocals that speak to the producer's sensitivity.
Turbo and Aus prodigy Sei A is an ideal candidate for remixing Road to Recovery, and he doesn't disappoint, retaining all the mood and character of the original while toughening up the beats and reworking the arrangement to turn it into a club weapon.
Fellow Montrealer Iron Galaxy, hot off remarkable Boiler Room and Mutek performances, as well as releases on James Zabiela's Born Electric and Audio Culture, shows off analog wizardry with his remix of 'Who Are They to Judge Us,' building the energy up through melodic counterpoint.
Far and away the most musical thing to come out on Turbo in a while, not to be missed!

Masaaki Yoshida aka Anchorsong has been winning friends here in the UK and internationally throughout Europe with his live shows, and yes we do mean live: Yoshida's music is created with a sampler and a keyboard, from scratch at his gigs. Sometimes these sounds are augmented by a string quartet. With a couple of releases for Lastrum in his native Japan, Anchorsong relocated to London and soon hooked up with the Brighton-based Tru Thoughts label, who put out a four-track CDR called the Darkrum EP. That, an appearance on Boiler Room TV last year, and support from Radio 1's Huw Stephens have all helped this young man begin to garner attention. We are hoping this release for BBE will be the one that transforms him from a name bandied round by the electronic music cognoscenti, to a high-profile artist/producer. Previously characterised as being a maker of downtempo beats, The Mawa EP is an altogether more upbeat affair. The opener rattles along with African tribal chants, dense percussion and a fuzzy near-analogue ambience; the African vibe is continued on track 2 with a looped marimba before we suddenly switch to some sparse, dreamy 4/4 stuff that wouldn't have sounded out of place on Nu-Groove way back when. The third track is altogether busier, interweaving more chanted vocal snippets and tinkling percussive figures over a sensuous bassline, and the closer increases the bottom-end action with some near sub-bass anchoring layersof shifting, swirling bleeps. This release puts Anchorsong firmly in 'minimal' territory and demands attention from electronic music DJs everywhere. And no, just like you we don't know if he named himself after the Bjork song fromher first album -but we intend to find out!

The German based label Kitty Corner Records turns back the wheel and starts a new series of fresh experimental techno music. The opening track 'Hachzem' from Bristol's Kanji Kinetic comes with storming mutant basslines and rave stabs collide over a thumping techno beat. For 'Battle Creek Brawl' RRRitalin and Cynthia Stern take it back to '92 with pitched up rap vocals over a prodigy style breakbeat hardcore track. Spaceface's 'Hands of a Lunatik' is frenetic and crazy wonky techno, while Luke's Anger rounds off the EP with the robotic 909 warehouse beats of 'Throwing Switches'.

Skrufix is a Berlin based outfit steadily strengthening their stature behind a series of revered parties and left-of-centre releases. Never opting for the path of least dance-floor resistance, Skrufix champion off-kilter strands of Breakbeat driven Rave, Techno and House and have released music from Turtlez, MightHor and Things With Wings.
SKRUV001 inaugurates an exciting addition to Skrufix's operations - a vinyl project aiming to outlet choice cuts of cross-genre dance-floor fodder from the auspicious and the established.
First in line is Edward Upton a.k.a EDMX - a producer with a back catalogue of considerable depth and consistency inclusive of shape-shifting releases that date as far back as the mid-90's. A bonafide veteran of U.K dance music, Edward has released under myriad aliases (most notably DMX Krew) for labels such as his own Breakin', Mathematics, Rephlex and Power Vacuum.
The 'Wicked Drummer' EP sees EDMX turn in four floor-targeted weapons spanning U.K Garage, 2-Step, Acid, House and Breaks rife with his signature nifty synth work, multifarious rhythm-structures and taught, effective bass tones.
With this being the first of many pressings, Skrufix continue to expand their project with the next release already lined up from their very own Crane in October.

Visibility Is A Trap is the new EP by Dalhous, comprised of four originals together with a masterfully understated Regis remix of 'He Was Human And Belonged With Humans'. The EP heralds the arrival of the Edinburgh-based project's sophomore album, Will To Be Well, due out on Blackest Ever Black in early Summer 2014. Dalhous first announced its existence in 2012 with the Mitchell Heisman 10', and last year released its debut full-length: An Ambassador For Laing. Both Visibility Is A Trap and the upcoming Will To Be Well LP reflect writer-producer Marc Dall's continued interest in the language and imagery of self-help, R.D. Laing and the anti-psychiatry movement. Though recorded after Will To Be Well, the tracks on Visibility Is A Trap at first appear to have more in common with the blue ethereal drift of Ambassador. While 'Information Is Forever' and 'A Change Of Attitude' are firmly in the ambient mode, 'Active Discovering' fizzes with arpeggiated energy, and a battery of percussion disrupts the calm surface of 'Sight Of Hirta'. Something is up. All is not as it seems. The Regis remix of Ambassador highlight 'He Was A Human And Belonged With Humans' finds Karl O'Connor in unusually pensive mood. In fact this near-beatless, dubwise version is unlike anything he has put his name to before. Discarding the rhythmic skeleton of Dalhous's original, he gives their weeping saxophone more space to roam and resonate, adding off-beat, sleep-deprived keys, murmured vocal fragments and swells of sub-bass pressure. It could be construed as a love letter to his former home in West Berlin; certainly it evokes and effortlessly updates the drugsick grandeur of later Neubauten or Low side 2.
In a few short years Laurel Halo has demonstrated an unnerving ability to question established idioms in electronic music. Throughout her body of work the Michigan-born producer has expressed musical representations of merged dualities; spirituality in the inorganic, space in the claustrophobic, hope in dread. As a result there's something uncanny about Laurel Halo's sound - the sonic templates may change, but the challenging of divides remains. Laurel Halo returns to LP format after two critically acclaimed EPs with the driving, meditative 'Chance Of Rain'. Evolving from earlier works, it's a cerebral exploration of the intersection between rhythmic and ambient music, drawing together moments of movement and stillness, psychedelia and presence of mind. On 'Chance Of Rain', rhythms melt with unpredictable structures, ambient drift and deep harmonic passages, while keyboard-based interludes reinforce both the far-out and contemplative aspects of the record as a whole. Halo's evolution as a live performer has directed her music's development in part, as the tracks on 'Chance Of Rain' are fleshed out versions of live hardware improvisations. This LP is far off from the definition of a traditional dance long player; where tracks like 'Serendip', 'Chance Of Rain' and 'Ainnome' invite with infectious grooves, others like 'Oneiroi', 'Still/Dromos' and 'Thrax' invert these energies, revealing sinister potential in the process. Again Halo's knack for illusory detail and sound design shines, and another duality feeling emerges, this time one of unearthly joy. Drawing inspiration from the music of her home state's music capital Detroit, in both harmonic and rhythmic palettes, the music showcases freedom within metric constructs, and skyward optimism in the face of decay. The album comes packaged with artwork created by her father, an NYC-born, Michigan-based visual artist whose work focuses on industrial landscapes of Michigan and the Rust Belt at large. The artwork here is an early work of his from the 1970s, reflecting the album's twisted, hopeful tone. 'Chance Of Rain' was mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.
