Cititrax present a split EP by two massive talents, Borusiade and The Sixteen Steps. Borusiade, originally from Bucharest, Romania began as a DJ in the early 2000s and then started producing music in 2005. With a background in classical music, she combined her love of raw electronics, obscure themes and melodic lines to create her own signature sound. She has released on the Cómeme label as well as Corresepondent. Infatuation and Confutation are dark, moody and intense tracks that catch you upon first listen. The flip side of the Promises and Infatuation EP features The Sixteen Steps, the brainchild of George Lanham who cut his musical teeth DJing and running events in the south of England. We have been listening to many of his tracks endlessly for a while now. They've also been a highlight of Veronica Vasicka's DJ sets as of late. Signals From The South and Promises On The Run are both immaculately produced, hypnotic, dance floor killers. They are sparse ebm meets smoky warehouse techno, and offer a wonderful contrast to Borusiade's layered emotive tracks that reminisce of an East Village club in the 1980s. Themes of infatuation, appearances, and anonymity appear throughout this EP from the music itself right through to the cover art.

American DJ & producer Eric Estornel AKA Maceo Plex is set to relaunch his old moniker called Mariel Ito in 2018. The mysterious alias was active during the early 2000's and flourished from Estornel's experimentation on electro sounds before he would become known worldwide as Maceo Plex. He delivered a bunch of releases under this moniker during 2005 and 2006 including an EP on Modern Love and an album on SCSI-AV, to name a few.

Estornel will come back with a first Mariel Ito EP in 12 years. This new single titled '2e Komst' will land on January 26th on his fresh imprint Lone Romantic, that he launched with the recent Maceo Plex LP 'Solar' last summer. The EP brings two new tracks 'Sintex49' and 'Dmode90' that illustrates the electro edge of his sound with the recognizable obscure synths and electrifying samples of his productions.

Sue Zuki's inaugural recorded document the ''WE ARE ALL VERY ANXIOUS'' tape is in our opinion one of the most innovative audio expeditions that has resonated with us. Boldly defying and deconstructing conventional genre tropes we aren't being bias by saying that either. This is a genuinely sincere perspective. The key to Sue Zuki's music is her vocals where she misanthropically preaches the records themes of psychological alienation and despair, trapped within an augmented virtual reality. Whilst trapped and unable to properly function inside this distorted simulation there are the bewildering sounds of a thousand voices and 'every conversation' unhealthily looping inside you're mind, through the echo chamber. Manifesting into a bleak neurotic obsession and feelings of inadequacy, a desperate plea, blinded and fatigued by the unnerving glare of the computer screen, processing too much information and not knowing if the human 'interactions' you're experiencing are genuine or artificial.
The trauma of this hollow existence is further emphasised with the combination of fragmented and jarring rhythmic grime percussive kick drums that is boosted by the metallic coiling density of detached, propulsive industrial structures. Synthetic frequencies writhe, becoming more lysergic as they progress. DnB tempos accelerate and shift in pitch as if in an erratic state of panic, dissonant foreboding drones absorb you as if drowning under the hypothermic pressure of the deepest, coldest and darkest frozen oceans. Throbbing sub bass fuelled with dread and agonising noise grips you into a suffocating claustrophobia, compressing further and further.
Rather than suppressing these feelings of insecurity and affliction there is a degree of exaggerated, self-deprecating sardonic humour that gradually unravels helping to confront the despondent nature of the record. Accompanied also by subdued, fragile and sunken RnB / Rhythm and Gloom vocals with desolate acoustic guitar fusions which overall provides an empathetic tone. Sue Zuki's music is a profound and startling glimpse into the growing cultural discomfort and paranoia of the conscious state of the human condition in the 21st Century.

New school electro wunderkind Privacy makes his debut on Klakson with a dark four tracker that checks all the right boxes. The EP kicks off with "Four IO", a haunting, spacey dubbed out acid roller with lush pads throughout. "U Can Tell" and "NCSC" are both specimens of the finest EBM tradition, re-interpreting the sound for 2017, while "Shove" on the B2 effortlessly transports us into deep, uptempo aquatic electro territory.

For the 4th release of the Viennese vinyl-only imprint, the Pomelo-Mastermind Dan Lodig provides a mysterious 4-tracker and shows again his versatility which perfectly fits to the whole concept of Yoshi.

The material collated on this third release from Heavenly Music Corporation was composed specifically for St. Giga in Japan, a satellite broadcast radio station transmitting ethereal audio harmony 24 hours a day. What made this station otherworldly was its programming; motivated by tidal movements, the aquatic ebbs and flows of each day synchronised to the activity and intensity of the music broadcast.

The Smoke Clears is the abstract ambient project of producer John Daly (One Track/ Secret Sundaze). He debuted this alias with an eponymous LP in 2013 on Further Records and we're proud to present a part 2.Following up his 2013 LP of the same name, this record builds upon it's predecessor's ambient abstractions while adding another layer of nuanced melodic contemplation.Kicking off with "Fathoms" a deceptively calm track but with a paced sense of urgency which is evident throughout the LP, belying it's calm undertones. Continuing at this pace for the rest of the first side the LP takes a side turn with the lush "Slipstream" melting into the only vocal track of the LP - the dubbed out bliss of "Oh My Days" featuring Cian Finn. Showcasing a side that might not be familiar to those who come to the table with knowledge of the Galway producers house and techno releases on his own imprint One Track Records, Secret Sundaze, Running Back and more, this is lush downtempo machine music equally as at home cranked up one louder soundsystem style, or for late night home listening.

Then of course there's the mighty SCORN and his numerous collaborations with fellow luminaries such as JOHN ZORN and BILL LASWELL (in PAINKILLER).Rather than being tied to genres or scenes, MICK HARRIS is one of those producers who creates a whole sonic world uniquely of his own, in which varying tracks, styles and tempos take form, but yet in which everything sounds unmistakably characteristic of the creator. Needless to say his work has influenced legions of producers like SURGEON, REGIS, ONTAL, VATICAN SHADOW / PRURIENT, FAUSTEN, SHAPEDNOISE et al, and pretty much anyone in the world of powerfully dark, abrasive music you could name-drop. And yet after all this time, it is impressive that HARRIS still stands way above his successors and has never been surpassed in his own production/performance game.After a hiatus of several years, he is back with a new album under the guise of FRET.Working at a faster tempo than his SCORN material, the FRET project first surfaced years ago on the DOWNWARDS label, rooting it firmly in the dark, industrial and technoid world, and appeared more recently on Tresor (Kern mix by OBJEKT), maintaining the characteristic colossal bass-heaviness and textural depth.And now a full album on KARLRECORDS, Berlin. HARRIS fans will be delighted to know that despite the 130 bpm tempo, the newest FRET still resolutely avoids any straight four-on-the-floor kickdrums, every track lurches, stumbles, staggers and charges forth with beats in beautifully broken asymmetry.We get 10 tracks of crushing, percussive destroyers, each itself a storm of precision chaos, with colossal low-end frequencies that'll cause stampedes in the right circumstances. The classic HARRIS sound is there, searing waves of feedback distortion, intricate, interlocking rhythms and cold, abattoir atmospheres, especially track 6 "Stuck in the track at Salford Priors" which sounds like you're being continuously suspended in the air from multiple explosions all around, each kickdrum throwing you up in the air, the next one going off before you can fall completely back to the ground.The lazy-minded would probably lump it in with the term "techno", but the disciplined brutality, blasting landmine bass and interlocking shrapnel rhythms are clearly HARRIS' own trademark style, sitting somewhere between SCORN and QUOIT.The tracks appear deceptively chaotic on the surface, yet each is meticulously and masterfully composed with great attention to layering and detail. MICK HARRIS fans rejoice, the dark lord still remains at the top of his game.

Humans by Berlin based and Salon des Amateurs long term resident Philipp Otterbach is a deeply cinematic trip, wandering through a realm of voices, mechanic beats and slowly pulsating, desolated synthscapes. Dys Functional Electronic Music is a compilation release from Repitch Recordings, celebrating the label's first five years. Its ambivalent title aims to represent the sonic behaviour of its content, often deviating from norms or distancing itself from common club functionalism. For this release, the 3 REPITCH masterminds Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise are joined by a selection of the artists who contributed shaping the Repitch sound throughout the years, along with guests that inspired them in this adventure. During the past 5 years the main focus of the label was to set up a platform for experimentations across the dancefloor canon, establishing a standout musical identity. A spirit that resonates within each artist's personal approach: from Ascion's dark breakbeats to The Exaltics and AnD's acid frontalism, Shapednoise's brooding noise, Sote's fractured rave, D. Sam de la Rosa, best known under the alias Samuel Kklovenhoof of the band Led Er Est and with Karen Sharkey of The Coombe, is back on Mannequin Records for a stunning 4-tracks electro-wave-experimental release.Texas born but strongly connected with the New York cold wave and disco scene from mid 2000, and the Wierd Records family, Sam's music is a clever mix of post punk, electronic hybrids, experimental pop and catchy melodies.Additional mix by Michael Stein from S U R V I V E, already debuting on Mannequin Records back in 2011, before to get worldwide known for the Netflix's 'Stranger Things' soundtrack.

German Electrofunk purist CeeOnic checks in with Ground Control. Originally released on the label of Miami Bass legend Debonaire, the two crisp and powerful productions perfectly catch the vibe of 1980s Electro classics by the likes of Egyptian Lover, Pretty Tony or World Class Wreckin' Cru, taking it into the 21st century.

The Sound In Your Ear and That's My Fantasy, which is included as a new Extended 12" Mix, are CeeOnic's overdue debut on vinyl.

Scientists. White lab coats. The whirr of computers. SC-164 was a sonic experiment. Greg Schappert, an electronic musician known as Donor, was the willing subject. Its purpose To melt man and computer in audio form, machine music created by an artificial being. But soon it became too powerful, self aware. The creators tried to pull the plug. They were too late. Now this assailant floats from machine to machine, communicating its message through serrated snares and bruising bass. SC-164 was cast aside by its makers. Now the project has one objective, to corrupt circuitboards and speakers with an infectious strain of corrosive electro.

Twenty years after the Sonar Base 4 - 10 release on the legendary Dutch record label U-Trax, it is now time for an official high quality remastered vinyl re-issue on Deeptrax Records. The rare original was very hard to find and is considered as one of THE highlights of Dutch electro and techno. The Dutchman Frank de Groodt a.k.a Sonar Base is hitting hard with a perfect blend of 70 minutes of aquasonic electro, intergalactic boogie and deep techno. Frank started out on U-Trax records in 1994, and released as The Operator and Optic Crux on Djax-Up-Beats before his more recent releases as Fastgraph on Klakson. Besides he's also part of Random XS and Ultradyne.

This bass oriented, mind bending album is considered one of The Netherlands best kept secrets and has been a fave amongst connaisseurs, selectors and DJs around the globe for many years. A real post apocalyptic gem from Utrecht that is as fresh and sharp as it was originally released 20 years ago. The tracks are full bodied, muscular pieces of electro and techno with hidden melodies and savage beats upon clever bass lines.

All tracks analog remastered by Ballyhoo Studios and pressed by the brand new vinyl pressing plant Deepgrooves for optimal listening pleasure. RAAR is deeply proud to present the first full length album from label co- founder Maelstrom, entitled "Her Empty Eyes". Both an evolution of the producer's rich history and an intellectual departure from everything that has preceded it, "Her Empty Eyes" is a work that is uncanny, challenging and meditative.
Continuing upon the cross-media mission of RAAR, the LP is in fact the outline of a sonic novel. Maelstrom describes:
"As a kid I was a voracious reader. I used to live in stories. I used to go to sleep dreaming I'd wake up inside one of them. Sometimes I still do, and this album has been recorded inside one of these dreams.
During the last 12 months, my music started to become the soundtrack of an imaginary novel taking place between 1936 and 1939 in Spain.
The novel depicts the life of Marina, a news photographer covering the war during these 4 years, meeting John Dos Passos and Ernest Hemmingway at "Hotel Florida" in Madrid, Georges Orwell and Buenavaentura Durruti on the frontline, or anonymous volunteers of the International Brigades in Barcelona.


We follow her investigating the death of Jose Robles, a Spanish
intellectual who was allegedly killed by members of the soviet secret police lead by Alexander Orlov, also believed to be responsible for the torture and death of Andres Nin, leader of the POUM, during Barcelona's "May Days" of 1937.
While looking into the murder, Marina keeps on covering the war for international magazines, travelling with the Lincoln Brigade during the Battle Of Jarama or with Spanish civilians fleeing Malaga by the road as bombs fall and planes strafe the ground with machine-gun fire. The story ends with the exile of hundreds of thousands of Spanish refugees across the mountains and the French border in the winter of 1939, and with the death of Marina. The album's title refers to our heroine's untimely demise, and the evidence of what was captured in her empty eyes, burned forever into the film in her precious Leica.
This is not a metaphor nor an essay, this is the outline of a story. It's the listener's place to make sense of it. The context is a civil war. The characters are a photo-reporter, famous writers and anonymous heroes, and my music is its soundtrack."
Recording Process:
« My recording method has drastically changed since I started experimenting with Milton H. Erickson's self hypnosis techniques about a year ago. I went from overthinking every part of the recording process multiple times over, resulting in dozens of versions of each of my tracks, to a state where thinking wasn't part of the equation anymore. Self hypnosis is quite impossible to describe - more than anything, it's a way to fully exist in the present. After a few weeks of experimentation, it became possible for me to record tracks in one take, without feeling any urge to refine or rework them. I would switch on the studio, work on a sound palette, and then press play and record, every day ».
Rather than focusing on club bangers, Maelstrom depicts a future of techno that is intellectual, historical, spiritual and emotional.

Suction Records is proud to present the 4th and final volume of RX-101's 'EP' series of vinyl releases, showcasing a selection of standout cuts from Dutch producer Erik Jong's vast archive of previously-unreleased techno, IDM, acid, and electro, recorded to cassette from 1997-1999. Roland's cover-star instruments, the SH-101 and Juno-106, play a prominent role in EP 4's sound - a playful mix of joyous, sometimes haunting synthesizer melodies, and raw, crunchy percussion. From the early-Squarepusher melodies of opener Themis, to the eerie Boards of Canada-like nostalgia of Transmission, EP 4 delivers 6 tracks of classic late-90s electronix, with RX-101 affirming himself as an unheralded master in the Rephlex/Warp/Skam domain.

Constant Variables third release comes courtesy of Sven von Thülen AKA s:vt, who's slowly been making a name for himself with records on Work Them, Myth Music and, recently, Dred. On Club Variables Part 1' he delivers three no-nonsense techno workouts, aimed squarely at the dance floor. Work!

B12 and Warp unearth the previously unknown missing piece to their soundtrack of space Electro-Soma.
Reaching even further out into the deepest recesses of the Artifical Intelligence universe, Electro-Soma II collects some of B12's most cherished tracks from the Electro-Soma period and arranges them into an album of archival material that sounds as otherworldly and compellingly timeless as when we first heard Electro-Soma back in 1993. Electro-Soma II perfectly bridges the gap between the groups earliest AI material through to 1996's Time Tourist, while providing a fascinating viewpoint into the music of one of the most elusive and incredible artists to ever grace Warp.

Following Swayzak's Gestures Of A Sycophant, the third release on Beatnik Boulevard sees the return of Appleblim after he launched the label in style with the Conch Shell Motives EP. This time the Berlin-based producer is working alongside long-time collaborator and fellow Bristol bassweight alumni Komon - the duo have turned out EPs for Aus Music and Apple Pips in the past, but this 12' represents the first new material from them since 2014.

The heads-down, meditative lilt of Appleblim & Komon's Bristol past looms in the shadows on this EP, but it's shot through with a steely, modernist dance floor bite and high-end sound design. Know Yourself pivots around crafty, 2-step kinked drums but there's plenty of space afforded to atmospheric synth surges that plunge the track into a mood-altering headspace just to the left of the conventional dance floor.

In a more overt step away from the club, Enigmatic Light finds the pair exploring reduced, experimental approaches without discarding their penchant for heavy drum pressure. The sparse but booming kicks and bass stabs provide a powerful anchor to the swirling array of melodic matter coursing through the track, striking the perfect balance between structured arrangement and free-flowing sonics.

Stepping Out Of Yesterday closes the EP out with a beautiful, crooked reflection peppered with rich, chiming dub ripples, out of which a sprightly acid line emerges to affirm the electronica leanings of the track, and the EP as a whole. It's a fitting end to a record that sees both producers striking out into exciting territory where the moody soundsystem pressure of their past can coexist with the shimmering, psychedelic production that comes so naturally to them.

Five years after the illustrious Paranormal Soul LP, techno derelict Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt returns on Clone with ''Legendary Freaks In The Trash Of Time''. A vivid collection of twelve genre-defying tracks: from late-night hermit house to Memphis rap influenced slowjam electro, from Amiga 1200 technorave to cosmic spaceweed trance, including the whole universe in between. Italy's Donato Dozzy constructs nearly an hour of dense ambient fog & early morning techno for his mesmeric debut album 'K'. Creme Organization returns in July with four searing electro cuts from Dutchman Ekman. Mixing up West Coast electro with tougher, more textured techno styles in recent releases for Berceuse Heroique and Bedouin Record, this artist is as much about the past as the future and proves that across this new and impressive set of tracks. Doomsday Argument is not as dark as you would expect form the name: its a lithe and slippery electro affair with crisp snares and gurgling bass all topped off by a freaky top line. The Great Filter mixes up distorted bass with rippling glass synths and sounds both spooky and cosmic, then Post Singularity Day picks up the pace with a quick and urgent Drexcyian style that is restless, dynamic and busy. Last of all Antifragile is a wild acid workout with rocking beats and ripping 303s that twitch every nerve in your body.

So this is the tune you've been hearing all summer in Ibiza. Many of the world's biggest djs have been playing it, it's had something like a million plays on Youtube and didn't even require a sponsored post on Facebook.

The 2nd release on Youth comes from London artist Shamos. With Lyster having met Shamos through NTS it wasn't long before they were DJ'ing together around parties in London and Shamos began sharing music with him. Shamos, who last released on Funkinevens Apron label, comes with a heavy 4 tracker bringing the punkier dregs of new wave, dreamy abstract house and tripped out hardware jams, on limited red vinyl.

Formed in 1997, and inaugurated that year with a split 12' from new-comers and label founders, Solvent and Lowfish, this year Suction Records celebrates it's 20th anniversary with the re-introduction of their famed Snow Robots series of compilations. While originally started as a North American answer to UK electronix labels like Rephlex, Skam and Warp Records, a sound that is still a staple of the current Suction Records catalog, Suction's sound has also swerved into new territories, reflecting our love of dark '80s electronic music - synthpop, EBM, and beyond.... Snow Robots Volume 4 features an international array of artists, from Suction Records mainstays like Digital Poodle, June, Celldöd, and Ceramic Hello (with their much sought-after 1982 vocoder anthem), to label-favourites appearing on Suction Records for the first time: Beau Wanzer, Morah, and one of Skanfrom/Sleeparchive's lesser known aliases, Civil Defence Programme.

Shipwrec is delighted to welcome an electro pioneer into the fold. Larry McCormick has been at the coal face of machine music for two decades, carving razor sharp cuts under his Exzakt alias whilst spearheading future funk on his exemplary Monotone Records. Intelectro exemplifies twenty years of experience, twenty years of music production and twenty years of talent. "Banger" does exactly what it says, a crunching work that breaks with millisecond-perfect precision before deeper layers are unfurled. "Vibes" feels like three compositions combined. From its spacious intro the track dives into acid chords before resurfacing in refined warmth. Vintage grooves open "Rocker" with some extra muscle added through heavy kicks as samples circle to an ever tighter noose. Styles shift and strafe across the quartet leaving the lines of set expectations to blur and ultimately disappear. "Ride Low" is the final proof of this, understated percussion leading to sky soaring sytnhlines and free flowing harmonies. A 12" that melds disparate sounds with frightening ease, an artist bridging electro past, present and future.

This is the ninth EP on FireScope Records, the new sub-label of the legendary B12 Records.

Although B12 output has been the solo work of Steven since 2015-2017, this time he steps outside of the B12 name and releases under his own name. One of the founders of UK Techno, he has released on labels such as Warp Records UK, B12 Records, Soma Records, Delsin Records, FireScope Records, ART , Buzz and De:Tuned.

The EP entitled 'From Me To You' is all about the sharing and passing on of feelings and emotions from another place. It touches on sadness, joy and gratitude.

'Down And Down' is a Sombre Title: where is down and down to where Don't be fooled into thinking that this is another journey into darkness. This track is pure and glorious uplifting Techno but once again with an alter-ego of melancholy. A pensive string/pad line underpins the track, which is dominated by a glorious slide riff that takes the helm and propels it forward.

'Decliner Box' is manic depression in a music form. A very simple tune, it's about mental decline with some nifty 808 programming. It is so simple and sounds like 'anyone could do this' yet in conjunction with the moody pads, really captures the imagination and drifts you away.

'The Life Giver' is dedicated to the life giver and 'a power greater than me'. It has Rutter's trademark quirky drum programming, a strong feature of the producer's current output these past 2 years. Crunchy and almost disjointed, they all hold together. There is no real baseline here, but with a siren to the heavens throughout with pads and slide riffs interwoven, it becomes a tune of hope and emotion.

'The Battle Continues' is the third instalment in the 'Battle' series of tracks with its predecessors being 'Battle Within' on FireScope 001 and 'Battle Deep Within' on Touched - Music for Macmillian Cancer Support 35. This time, 'The Battle Continues' is a tune of two parts. Slow moving and very deep drums and percussion with emotive synth parts take us to
the first part of this ride. Around 3:20, phase two begins with a soundscape that reminds one of being on some kind of train journey of human suffering -- a train to a very dark place.

First release on Trevor Jacksons new unreleased archive recordings label 'Pre-' is a timeless collection of twisted techno, militant EBM and filthy electro produced by Jackson himself and featuring vocals from Douglas (Nitzer Ebb) Mcarthy & Chloe from C.A.R. Originally produced in 2003 as a Playgroup side project, Pinklunch made its debut with a demo track on a Dj Hell International Deejay Gigolo Compilation, tracks also appeared on compilations for the exclusive Parisian department store Collette and the Berlin club F.U.N. The album lay in hibernation for nearly 15 years, gathering digital dust, Rediscovered in 2014 Trevor lovingly re-edited and remastered the original mixes as well as getting guest vocalists Douglas Mcarthy from Nitzer Ebb and Chloe from C.A.R to appear on two tracks.

Canadian Tiga and Finnish Electronic-Maestro Zyntherius collaborates again for the first time in about 15 years. Mostly know for the monster cover-hit "Sunglasses at Night" their new output is shorter (about 2:30) and states minds driven by a pop approach lost in underground music these days - trance infused, modern & one-sided.

CPU and dance music's polymath Neil Landstrumm share a love for classic bleep techno, hence Landstrumm has brought to the table four superb reminders of the criminally short lived genre.

With spine tingling melodies reminiscent of 808 State's best work, and sub-bass worthy of LFO's bass-bin shaking reputation - A Death, a Mexican and a Mormon perfectly encapsulates not only Landstrumm's influences but also his deep seated love for bleep. A labour of love which the Sheffield based imprint has been only all too happy to encourage and hopes will keep the genre alive for generations to come.

We turn to Chapter 3 as we introduce a brace of remixes by easily one of our favourite DJ's and producers; the one and only Lena Willikens!
We haven't really went in for remixes much before with the label, as we feel strongly about the power of the original. In the right hands, a great remix can be equally as powerful though and Lena has succeeded in bringing her own weird and wonderful sounds to a track from each preceding chapter - rRoxymore from Chapter 1 and Oslo Gabon from Chapter 2 - whilst still keeping true to the original work.

After the long awaited and acclaimed return of the notorious Manie Sans De´lire on June Records, one-half of the group, Trenton Chase, returns on the label with a bold solo LP marking his departure from the sound of his previous releases on the imprint.

For his first album attempt, Trenton embarks on the search for everything and manages to encapsulate the whole essence of the June Records ethos within 43 minutes of music.
Although initially not planned as an album, Deadlock was conceived organically as it only took a few months for its completion during the artist's most abundant 2017 studio spring sessions.

This body of work transcends formulaic attempts to showcase a very refreshing and uncompromising take on synth music. Chase followed a crude approach to songwriting, rehearsing and improvising live until the best take would eventually become the final track. Artwork by Florent Mazzocchetti.

This is the new release by berlin based techno duo I/Y. the music is part of an interdisciplinary project between the international artist collective exc and I/Y which included an exhibition in a downstairs parking lot, the publication of the artistbook "pxrkxnglxt 2" together with the novel "raum in einem raum" by exc-co-founder eric keil and a short unmoved silent film for which I/Y did the soundtrack. This soundtrack now comes as an exclusive vinyl release along with an inlay artist edition, showing the dark scenery where the" film" takes action...

It's quite far-fetched, but what if dolphins are indeed dangerous super intelligent creatures that created a secret base underwater from which they control a mercury-fueled spacecraft From the Earth's natural satellite, they can manipulate our minds with a special signal vastly known as the I/Y XXX sound wave. Think about it, question everything.
This is the beginning of a new series for the label, which will probably showcase different collaborations with dolphins and artists from different fields.

INNERSPACE is a new imprint from Croatia's underground featuring extremely hot and mind-bending electro tracks from MORPHOLOGY and SILICON SALLY!

Jesse Pimenta is a Brazilian-born, LA-grown artist who has previously released on Nous Disques as well as on his own Private Selection imprint. Side A brings two slamming cuts fit for all-out dance floor annihilation whilst Side B delves into more psychotropic yet punkish zones.

We are really honoured to present a 12'' EP collaboration between the mexican band Ford Proco and the legendary UK electronic pioneers Peter Christopherson/John Balance aka Coil.
Ford Proco were formed in 1986 in Tijuana and they are considered the godfathers of the industrial electronic music in Mexico.

The story behind the recording of the two tracks is like a fairy tale.. apparentely the band members Robert Proco (sampler & synthesizers) and Wito Lavolt (bass, keyboards & drums) met Peter Christopherson in Los Angeles in the occasion of The Orb show back in the 90s and they exchanged phones & emails. Months later 'Sleazy' call and invited them as extras for Ice-T videos..

The tracks were composed following the method of the 'expansión naranja'; Peter Christopherson was adding sax, drums and effects, while John Balance provided his magnificient voice.

Both the tracks were originally recorded in Autumn 1999 and they are unreleased on vinyl. The tracks were directly transferred from the original DCC (Digital Compact Cassette) and remastered by the mighty Rude 66.

Artificial Dance is a new record label from Amsterdam. This is the imprint's debut release. It is the first ever release from young Dutch DJ/producer Job Sifre, previously best known for his fortnightly Antikunst show on esteemed Amsterdam institution Red Light Radio.
Worries offers an extended glimpse at Sifre's unique musical vision. It is one that draws heavily on vintage electronic music for inspiration, but also feels fresh and futurist in tone. In turns dark, industrial, hypnotic and mind-altering, the six-track EP bristles with impactful moments of magic.

Check, for example, the gnarled, Mascara-clad intoxication of Element', where fuzz-laden, end-of-days guitars, snaking Middle Eastern style melodies and gruff vocals wrap themselves around cranky drum machine beats. It's like classic European industrial music re-imagined for the 21st century. Then there's Flotter', whose throbbing arpeggio bassline, lo-fi machine drums and foreboding synthesizer melodies combine to create a chilling but muscular mood.

Sifre's love of electronic body music can be heard within the bustling, all-action bassline, fizzing electronics, razor-sharp guitar riffs and matter-or-fact vocals of Worries'. Our young hero continues in a similar vein on pulsating dancefloor bubbler Intex Excursions', which sounds a little like forgotten heroes of 1980s industrial funk dancing all night with modern Dutch electro maestros.

The twisted, distorted nature of Sifre's far-sighted approach is given further weight via A Dime 4ur Decline', an apocalyptic stroll through skittish machine drums, panicked electronics, modular style bleeps and haunting strings.

A sterling debut outing is completed by the EP's mind-altering moment: Planet Stoner'. As clattering percussion hits and clandestine bass whisk us towards an unknown destination, undulating electronic motifs, spiraling synthesizer lines and drifting Arabic flute samples join forces to ratchet up the intensity. By the time the track reaches its breathless conclusion, you'll be in no doubt about Sifre's production credentials.

A stand-out track from the Bleep:10 compilation released earlier this year, Untold's incredible 'That Horn Track' finally sees a 12" release.

After being premiered on Pearson Sound's excellent Resident Advisor mix, the track gained further play from Mary-Anne Hobbs, James Blake and Tessela on their respective BBC Radio shows and residencies.

If that was not enough, Berlin techno royalty Marcel Dettmann remixes the track for the flip side of the 12". Marcel transforms Untold's hectic original composition into a slow-building sublime exercise in dread-techno production and pummeling drums.

After a string of outstanding releases on some of our favourite electro labels, Seattle's Chris Roman aka 214 joins ranks at Lunar Disko to present the 'Talus Loop' EP.

It's fitting that Andrew Weatherall himself discovered George Thompson, aka Black Merlin, in 2012, the year of our never-realized apocalypse. A vinyl release on Weatherall's Bird Scarer label followed, then World Unkown, Crimes of the Future, LN-CC, SORN, New Jersey, Common Thread... Shift focus to Balinese label 'Island of the Gods,' where Black Merlin's debut album 'HYPNOTIC TRADISI' sold out in 48 hours. Bleeding edge fashion label ACNE tapped him for their SS17 catwalk, and Black Merlin continues to push his retro-aggressive style forward to now- his new EP 'Control' for Boysnoize Records. Power, discipline, CONTROL- the word itself is inseparable from the aesthetic mythos of industrial music, channeled so adeptly by Black Merlin across the 4 track release. The first two cuts, 'Control' and 'Secondo,' capture the neurotic, mechanical energy of a fantasy after-hours in a weapons factory- the kind of sci-fi meets political unrest wet dream that was Amiga-tracked through every undercut, black booted teenager's imagination in the late 80's. Production evoking the most dancefloor forward moments of Front 242, a sound both retro and contemporary but firmly planted in dark and aggressive EBM... Sound familiar for a BNR release these days We hope so. Black Merlin's CONTROL EP is more than a record for DJ's, as the last two tracks discard the club's restraints for excursions into sound and narrative. 'Blindfold' is a nightmarish soundtrack to automated torture, complete with shouts and screams. It's a difficult listen but not easily shaken, and like a loose tooth you'll crave returning to it even though it hurts. This release from DMX Krew, a.k.a. Edward Upton begins with a tribute from the artist to his father, whose voice is sampled on the track. Gal (Juju) and Jordan (Jordash) return home to the Dekmantel stable for their fourth LP. It's their most complete record to date. A series of purpose-written compositions, that highlight their maturity as musicians, and adept dexterity in the studio.

Without the pairing of Juju & Jordash, there would be no Dekmantel. The duo are an integral part of the label's history, dating back to 2009 when they where they were the first act to release on the imprint. The two vagabonds can often be found performing live at various outdoor festivals and renowned clubs around the globe, jamming away behind a tabletop of buttons, knobs, synths, and drum machines - like a retro, control-station from Star Trek - albeit one that hums along with the jazz-centric, discordant house, and techno whirrings played by the musicians.

Nowadays Juju & Jordash have evolved far beyond their 'oddball house' moniker. Their freestyle approach to performance, and immaculate refined sounds have became somewhat more defined, in a style that's unique, yet elaborate, with a sense of otherworldliness, not only befit for the dancefloor, but otherwise transcendental moments. Following on from their previous LP, 2014's Clean-Cut, a record of primal, forward thinking, variations from the studio, Sis-boom-bah is an album steeped in studio traditionalism, with a direction towards composition. 'We wanted the focus of this album to be the music and not necessarily the process, so we made sure to perfect the performances before shifting the focus on to the production,' states Jordash about the record. Recorded over the space of a few, intense weeks, and built upon years of improvised live shows in front of thousands of listeners, Sis-boom-bah was written around grooves written by Juju on the guitar, and Jordash on the Rhodes. It was the first album the duo have written using such an approach, and solely produced and mixed by Jordash in Amsterdam over the course of a year, making it their most authentic record to date.

Sis-boom-bah's diverse, spiritual nature is built around Juju & Jordash's use of polyrhythms. The percussive sequenced grooves, and rhythmic backbone was generated using the Yamaha DX7, along with the Roland TR606 drum machine. This approach to rhythm can be heard from the outset within the very first track 'Herkie', an ephemeral, yet tribal approach to minimalist funk. The spirituality flows throughout the record, where it sounds like the duo have brought along the nature with them from the foresty raves. In actually fact, the background noise comes courtesy of 'noise generators from two separate synthesizers, each with its own filter slowly opening and closing so it kinda sounds like waves or wind.' There are also nods towards their acid influences, with some surefire slices of house music too. Sis-boom-bah is still very much a Juju & Jordash record, yet it's one with a greater depth, musically and stylistically. As electronic music albums go, you'll be hard pushed to find one more complete. "People should listen to this on a loud and clear sound-system," explains Jordash, "high on life, in their own special safe place."

Four youths are exploring unused buildings in a warehouse district when they stumble upon a lone wire running between the buildings. They follow along as it snakes between walls and under gates until they find it connected to a set of speakers. Looking over the wires they read the worn text 'AK0511' aloud. A second later, the cracked speakers begins to output an electro type beat which catches them off guard, but continues to grow louder. While it sounds good, it is still unusual and they look at each other and start to back away. Overtaken with curiosity, one of the kids runs the other way wanting to find where the wire goes....

Might remind of a wellknown homework tune by a french duo combined with the quirky tempest of an old djax up
tune and the wonkyness of 1997´s sativae world. The tune was created with a magic machine from Sweden. Analog filter sweeps and bleeps are the crown of a solid bass fundament and are companied by synth leads which rather are guitars screaming into endless space of the club inside your head. this is the "survival of the twisted".

A3 - Part of the "Dunkel" concept album which is loosely spread over various records. Dunkel35 is a techno tempest with another warhammer 40 k allusion. The listener experiences metallic frequency modulation effects, a tempest of sound with almost hearable promises of bass and the secrets of the unconsious rave while we travelling through the warp . Phasers, Pan effects and choirs from beyond make transform the overall image.

B1 - Underworld Metropolis: The title might already suggest it, the kicks and snare drums as well as the synth leads confirm it: Between submarine detroit like aquanautics and dutch electro experiments the track is a hommage to the
wonderfull works of a cologne producer who suddenly left this world in 2003.

'Macht Macht Zement'—what does it mean 80s drums, synths and vocals, almost without context. Fallbeil, two soon-to-be men (aka boys), finish tracks at the rate of butchers kneading meatballs. Due to laziness and a lack of technique, everything gets recorded on one track and immediately thrown into the frier. Nothing is planned. First up, school detention followed by rough LoFi rap.The album contains a wide variety of themes, from mailmen to warthogs, from latecomers to sensible conversation, every track is created out of spontaneity. Two very short tracks on this album date back to 1999, when the boys performed as 'Funky Granatos' in the local youth centers. Sadly, their performances weren't successful. Nobody wanted to listen to them and almost every concert ended in mass brawls. The track 'Postman' comes from the duo's side project Grand Malheur and was recorded in 2015 in Bronxfeld. More output from this project will appear on various EPs in the near future. The album title 'Macht Macht Zement' originates from Tom Pötgen. Tom always wanted to throw the sacred hand grenades. We hope he does that right now!

* Back with the heat, Chicago native DJ Jana Rush kicks off Objects Limited's 2017 with her debut album 'Pariah'. Jana Rush received attention for her mind-bending drum acrobatics on last year's 'MPC 7635' EP also released by Objects Ltd. Jana started djing aged just 13, releasing her first record on Dance Mania back in 1996 but having a hiatus from music between 2000 to 2013. With 'Pariah' she has created an album rooted in Chicago's footwork sound, but with a myriad of influences, such as jungle, acid, soul, jazz and house, developing her sound on from 'MPC 7635'. By popular demand from a kickstarter, now on vinyl!


* We kick off with 'Midline Shift' whose breathy, clipped erotic vocals intertwine with a pulsing bass and dry 808 rims creating a shimmering robotic effect. Moving on, the frantic 'Beat Maze' confuses the mind with white noise rushes and interlocking snares. Changing the scene, 'Divine' is sweetly soporific and charming, a beautiful, almost eerie track. The pace picks right back up with ' ', whose warbling jazz clarinets cut into a juke bounce. The stripped back beats of 'Break It' give one room to breathe before the croaking bass and distorted acid of 'No Fuks Given'. 'Old Skool' is exactly what you'd expect, its sample syncopated around a feverish rhythm throughout. Both 'Rapid Fire' and 'Acid Tech 2' are bangers, hitting you deep in that sweet spot. Jana brings it back down with 'CPU''s computer noises and sub bass hits. 'Chill Mode' gives time for reflection after all that fire, but its no ambient track, theres still that Chi-Town vibe. We finish with 'Frenetic Snare' whose Amen breaks will have Brits thinking of jungle, but it's a different beast altogether.

Following two Eps, ''La Machina'' and ''Technopiano'', Fabrizio Rat releases his first album of hybrid techno, with an innovative sound palette. The Pianist combines the acoustic sounds and weird harmonics of his prepared piano with the acid loops of the TB-303 and the beats of the TR-909. « I'm much attracted by a certain type of techno, based on the purity of sound. This music can really approach abstraction, the immateriality of thought and ideas. » A track like Aimard', for example, is characteristic of his ambition. « It's a sort of tunnel. It does not develop apart from a few 'turning points', in a similar way to lots of tracks by Jeff Mills, who has been a big inspiration to me for a long time. I feel attracted to his radical approach to techno and his taste of sonic exploration. Many tracks by him have an incredible character. As the records starts, you're all of a sudden facing a new world. That's exactly what I am most interested in, to find a strong vibe of a track, much more then constructing a form with evolution and surprises. » Gould', just before Aimard' in the record, has the same strength but plays with rhythmic elements in a more subtle way. « It's not really techno, but still hypnotic. The first version of it had lots of 909 in it, which has been little by little removed, following the advices of Arnaud Rebotini who coproduced the album and released it on his label. Arnaud pushed me towards a more radical and extreme direction, putting the piano on the forefront and simplifying the rhythmical patterns, to be more effective. This gives to the final result more impact I think.»
