Though Ronde Music is a label gathering producers from various horizons, might it be ambient,noise, experimental or lectroacoustic, they all have a common creed : the loop. Jo created this locked groove label just one year ago, spreading extensively the sensitive patterns of artists such as Vadim Svoboda, Sharp, Antigone, Edith Progue, Dscrd and Cédric Pigot & Jow. A single 1 loop bar is to be repeated until harmonies free themselves, patterns are then stretching to the point where they merge into a psychoacoustic phenomenon. "Wouldn't it be
nice to have this dance last forever " Ronde Music asks all of those who haven't yet joined the round.

Insistent drum machines, resonant synths, phased 'n fuzzed guitar mayhem, the lone magus at play in the studio: there are musical and methodological antecedents for the work of Wicked Witch, but spot-the-influence is a worthless pursuit, crumbling under the relentless focus of the four WW tracks here. For his second release on EM Records, Washington D.C.'s Richard Simms gives us three previously unreleased tracks from his single-mindedly all-encompassing world, plus his own remix of one track. The second disc of this double 12 inch 45 RPM release features remixes/reconstructions by German musician DJ Slyngshot and the Osaka duo YYPYY, which comprises Goat's Koshiro Hino and renowned DJ Yousuke Yukimatsu. There's a calming force tapping out from Cologne's Psycho Thrill BNKR underground Techno faucet, and "Deep Down Inside" is a crowning example. A1 Psycho Thrill recordings label boss Claus Bachor turns out a DubTechno/Half-Step hybrid that roars like wildfire. The flavor on the "DeepDownInside" original mix is a combination of initial cutting edged breaks and 4/4beats for Dub-Techno bobbers that turn into sheer bangin Techno on par with the rest of the remix work here, consisting of pummeling 4/4-floor and rudimentary builds that end with all the pots maxed out.

A2 Like a magician's forest at nightfall, Terrence Dixon's "Detroit After Dark" work-out scores the future fairy tale with the beautiful sorcery and strange spells of the minimal techno quest. So this remix comes as a kinked-up tickler, that gets linked to experimental motor city atmospherics in a serious Population One vein, and the result is - not more or less - an abstract perfection of so called late nite electronic body music.

A3 This remix by Dresden's Techno Bass master Stephan Schindler aka Kryptic Universe (also know as Lockertmatik/ The Isolator) in a typical classic 90s Techno rooted, Acid style as its finest that turns every nitedrive perfectly into a wonderfully twisted night out.

B1 Elec Pt.1's (Andreas Gehm / The Manager _ R.I.P. brother!) remix is a fuming and slamming renovation as well. Gehm takes "DeepDownInside" to another level with his belting, "fucks-u-deeper" climax that provides finally gushing 303-good times. Don't sleep on this, this re-work makes no prisoners.

B2 Dresden's Hi-Tech Funk protagonist Stephan Schindler (Kryptic Universe/ The Isolator/ Lockertmatik) does it again here seriously with his "KUX351" interpretation in an acidic mesmerizing and UR rooted, classic Hi-Tech Funk/Techno Bass style that get's even stronger with its athletic exhibition of perpetual electro-motion and should keep every audience interested.

Project STS-31-Spiralgalaxie (Hubble Telescope Series Vol.3) A clash of the Titans! Celebrating Solar One Music's 40th release and 10th anniverary, this split LP sees two stars under various disguises, Heinrich Mueller (aka Der Zyklus and various other projects) and German producer Robert Witschakowski aka The Exaltics, back to back in a no return odyssey through the depths of the Galaxy. Expect nothing but contemplative and cosmic electro beats using original outer-space sounds from the Universe. Closing the Hubble telescope trilogy which brought to you Luxus Varta and more recently E.R.P. (respectively with the "Everything Is Nothing" and "Ancient Light" EP's), trippy "Spiralgalaxie" will mark a new step in SOM's History. As usual, the final chapter of the series dedicated solely to Hubble and all the great scientists and engineers at the NASA and ESA, comes with a beautiful cover print picture taken by the Space Telescope.

Karen Gwyer joins DBA for an exercise in futurist dancefloor electronics after a recent outing on Alien Jams alongside Beatrice Dillon and last year's barnstorming Nous release. The US-born Londoner brings the sound of her stomping, analogue live performances closer to the psychedelic, thickly melodic tone of her studio compositions across three tracks, with Prophase Metaphase Anaphase Telophase an obvious choice for DJs.

Following early feet-finding, yet highly acclaimed releases on Patten's Kaleidoscope label and No Pain In Pop, Gwyer has gone on to solidify her place in the quasi-underground techno scene with more acclaimed recordings on labels such as Nous Disques, Alien Jams andOpal Tapes, for which she toured twice. She has also produced remixes for the likes of Nous, Warp, Software and Public Information, and created a number of commissioned pieces for Open Music Archive.

Unfeasibly tight, cultishly adored Aussie post-punk trio, My Disco take a proper pasting from Regis and Lustmord in stupendous remixes of Our Decade and 1991 from their Severe (2015) LP for Temporary Residence; the latest in a string of killers from Downwards in 2016 including EPs from JK Flesh, Simon Shreeve, and Dva Damas.
Hammering motorik rhythms with mathematic precision since 2003, My Disco arguably broached a wider consciousness with their 3rd LP, Little Joy for Temporary Residence in 2010. The group's 4th LP Severe was issued to underground acclaim in 2015, providing a shocking reminder of the trio's minimalist tension and vitality, and bearing strong material that well warrants these killer remixes from Regis and Lustmord.
Taking on Our Decade, Regis masterfully eviscerates the original's drawling gothic vox in favour of white hot sheets of processed, coruscating guitar whilst the groove is brought right upfront with a clattering swagger that's gagging for the dance.
On the flip, Lustmord isn't up for playing around with his take on 1991, submitting a gravely greyscale and super wide overhaul perfused with curdled vocals and stark drums like something out of a Scott Walker storyboard.
It's hard to deny that these are remarkable pieces of work, rendering Lustmord's best outing since The Word As Power at the very least, and quite possibly a strong hint of where Regis is headed on his long-rumoured LP for Blackest Ever Black.

Eight years after his 2006 - Reworks' CD which showcased brillant remixes of that part of his career Paul Kalkbrenner presents - X' with reworks from his latest albums - Berlin Calling', - Icke wieder' and - Guten Tag'. The eleven tracks which are getting a lot of spotlight at the European underground scene since they got released as individual 12inch vinyls are finally out on CD/Digital Bundle on May 30th 2014. The selected crew of remixers is staffed by longtime personal friends and other related artists out of Paul Kalkbrenner's world of music. To keep it in the Kalkbrenner family his brother Fritz Kalkbrenner delivers excellent new vocals for - Kruppzeug's' transformation into a classic House track while Paul's wife Simina Grigoriu refines the Techno track - Kleines Bubu'. The French techno legend Vitalic presents his remix for the - Berlin Calling' classic - Altes Kamuffel' while "the dutch man of the moment 2014' Joris Voorn hands over his hit-tune deep house interpretation of - Jestrüpp'. The Berlin school of Techno & House gets represented by Format:B, Housemeister from the Boys Noize camp and the legendary Maertini Broes consisting of Mike Vamp and the E-Werk veteran DJ Clé. Also hailing from Berlin are Pan-Pot who have been 2013 world tour buddies with Paul Kalkbrenner. They deliver a well produced big room version of the 2011 hit single - Das Gezabel'. Impressive in a similar way is the Cab Driver's remix of - Globale Gehung' from the - Guten Tag' album. Another musical highlight is the Robag Wruhme remix for the massive tune - Sky & Sand' which is a complete new and unique approach to the - Berlin Calling' classic. The Mallorca based duo Pig & Dan rounds up this great Paul Kalkbrenner remix package with their tech-house production of the - Icke wieder' opening track - Böxig Leise'.

Jake Conlon - Black Heath Works
Chugging, battering kicks settle the melodic three note loop and form a solid bottom end. Star of the show is the frantic, high pitched chime and marauding, fizzing distortion fit to mangle the head. Tinges of acid and delay tease out the overtones and harmonics, filtered tighter and tighter and finally released, letting the groove play on, relentless and slowly morphing back to the original pattern.

Jake Conlon - Brick House
Shades of Detroit in the intro, echoing, filtered percussion and a suggestion of the baseline to come. Heavy kicks and layered breakbeat obscure none of the soul, accenting and powering up the notes. Infectious percussion and glitchy melody fades in and out, setting the vibe and keeping interest high. You chase the focus, the second notes backed by a subtle, sparkling echo, was that an intake of breath

Hoth System - Motion Detector
An extraordinary percussive workout. Chattering, accented snares lead into a sparse industrial arrangement with a skipping hat keeping the pace up high. A refreshing high bass note and a perfectly restrained sub keeps pace with the pummelling kicks throughout. A track where small changes have huge impact, complexity and intelligence emerging from what at first seems simple.

Hoth System - Within an Inch
The name says it all - the track is pinned to the floor by the monstrous kick and heavy, low bass bleeps. The melodic pattern has an echo of rolling birdsong, but it's a mutant alien form unseen by human eyes, building and morphing into an acid-tinged monster. Production is astounding - each part is clear as a bell with space to spare in the mix - while incisive percussion works front and centre, marking out the phrases, accenting the breaks, winding the tension taught as a tripwire.

Contemplative, but never melancholic, rather with a positive mood, the tracks diffuse an overwhelming lightness and radiate a lighthearted happiness, which are manifested on an incredibly emotional and spiritual level With the simple and classic black and white artwork the two Releases from Sahraoui balance each
other like Yin und and Yang. The second part of the Eternal Life EP has a very different background than the first EP. It is the white Yang of these two natural opposites, contrary forces that are interconnected and interdependent. The Record is significantly calmer, less clubby and references the
beginnings of the Detroit Sound. - I wanted to give it more spirituality, musicality and roots with the choice of the sounds. Going back in the past and transcribe everything with visionary fusions, Sahraoui explained. The songs were created in his studio at his new residence in Valencia, Spain. His
visit to Detroit In 2014 was the inspiration for these Tracks. Similarly to the first part of Sahraouis's Release, the current Release displays typical elements from Detroit's classic sound. Finely Intricately and wonderfully worked orchestrated sequences and string sounds take the audience on a voyage through space. Thanks to the songwriting's depth of the songwriting, the tracks don't lose contact with the ground. With their production and arrangement, the are full of very detailed and carefully crafted.

Outstanding, varied, deep, widescreen and star-crossed electronica from Finland — the label boss — in the best traditions of ambient dub, drone and classic Berlin techno.

Anunnaki Cartel is up next with another release from label co-owner Chris Mitchell. This is his follow up to the Din Gir Dialectic EP that was released last year. Remnants is a more introspective outing with a sobering feel. These are heady selections for a darker floor, and will satisfy those DJ's who want to inject this into their sets.

Kouhei Matsunaga's 2nd album as NHK — his label debut for Diagonal — is a pixel-pill gobbling, seesawing wave of techno emotions presenting the Japanese artist at his most rugged and
damaged. After recent LPs from Not Waving, Elon Katz and Russel Haswell, Diagonal now excel in drawing out powerful album statements from some of the most distinctive musicians in
contemporary electronic music.
As bonkers as the narwhal-cavorting-with-a-rhino artwork, Doom Steppy Reverb is the skizzo brother of new beta, a 3D spec'd rally thru some of NHK's darkest, most driven material, done with
a gangster swang in deft minor key arrangements that hint at a certain rudeboy vulnerability.
Its seven tracks toe a fine line between novel and nasty, sidewinding from warehouse acid to brukkin' garage techno by the brutal close of 1073+snare, or basic channelling Autech/Reichian chords with sole-melting synth juice in Y, only to unexpectedly turn out a baroque scally bubble, Zomby style, with 1082_s.
Make no mistake, it's a record full of club bangers, though: L gets on Lory D levels of neo acid house squirm and 1083_lo_oct will demolish a big room at the right time thanks to some properly toned subbass, adding a new weapon to Diagonal's arsenal of world-scattered radge packets. It's proper fuel for DJs, dancers and headphone excursionists — and the artwork makes it just a good ol' laugh to look at.
This is NHK's best work — and demands to be felt.

Regular studio sparring partners October and Borai rekindle their ongoing partnership for hometown label Happy Skull, eschewing the conventions of club-ready house and techno in favour of two decidedly dark Industrial interpretations.2015 was a particularly big year for both producers. Borai hit the big time thanks to the two-fingered salute of revivalist rave anthem "Anybody From London" on Hotline Recordings, while October rightly received universal acclaim for his debut album on Skudge, Black Body Radiation.A-side "Necessary Force" echoes the jackin' throb of classic EBM, fusing titanium tuff percussion, aggressive analogue bass and a mind bending breakdown to create a hefty slab of hard wired funk. In comparison, flipside "Nine Tomorrows" is a more atmospheric excursion. Instinctively paranoid, it peppers a throbbing machine groove with cascading melodies and horror-influenced electronics to mesmerising effect.

E.O.S. is the acronym of Evod, Oisel and Syntaxism. The collaboration is born togheter with a new catalogue of Evod Music, called Evod Excursions. Luna Nuova is the first of the 8 releases planned on trasparent 7inch vinyls. The collaboration project was born to blend the main sonorities of each artist, with no borders of experimentation. All the sounds were created and processed with analog machines, live recorded. The final result is a track splitted in X and Y on the wax, a full side and an ambient side, respectively.

Composer, improviser, and Buchla Music Easel master Charles Cohen returns to Morphine with a suite of new material.
In keeping with the timbre spectrum of his semi-modular system, Brother I Prove You Wrong is built around pointillist analog tones—Cohen's cosmic "beeps and boops"—that swarm and scatter in mesmeric patterns across four sides. Moving through surrealistic textural overlays and industrial miasma, the album's nine tracks reveal a more introspective and personal side of the artist, following from a retrospective LP trilogy released via Morphine in 2013. Those assembled works, dating back to the late '70s, quickly became essential listening and brought Cohen—at the time largely unknown outside Philadelphia's experimental circuit—to critical renown.

Brother I Prove You Wrong was recorded in Berlin in September 2014 using the Buchla Music Easel, with production help and support from Rabih Beaini. Mastered by Neel and curated and designed by Tank Boys; cover art by Nathalie du Pasquier.

After Silenzio and Robotique de l'Amour- in french, Vampiros Discos is Theremynt's third Ep- an electronic journey in Portuguese-tribute to Horror Brazilian Filmmaker Ze do Caixao and all the vampires movies that have accompanied us as teenagers such as Dracula and the Likes. Somewhere between dirty house, krautrock and deviant techno, it is an uplifting track made for the dancefloor . The three remixes are following the track's original path pushing it to its edges: Andrew Claristidge from Acid Washed has given an interesting version both deviant and cinematographic, the Club Bizarre duet is offering a more techno version with obsessive bells while legendary techno producer David Carretta is immerging us into a new beat and rather technoish hypnotic tune. The result is a perfect DJ tool -worth trying on the dance floor in the middle of the night.

Back to basics with two heavy rhythm edits/tools. The Contort Yourself tradition of electronics pioneers, modern masters and new names continues into CY003. Enrique comes under that latter banner. The Hot Releases alumnus introduces the EP with the piston pounded belligerence of Dissociate. L.I.E.S. and Nation veteran Beau Wanzer continues this stroll into aggression. Weasels is an upturned work of techno. Nuts, bolts and the grisly inner workings are on show for this fast paced floor mangler. Spain's industrial stalwarts Esplendor Geometrico open the flip. From 1988 the grit of the factory floor is carried into Rotor. A touch of the mystical is injected, chants looped through the hypnotic rhythms in this simmering classic. Broken English Club is on hand to rework Rotor into a guttering piece of Electro tainted machine music. If you're hoping for some respite, think again. Prostitutes (Diagonal) closes with the cruel pummelling percussion of Cuyahoga Frankenstein. A brutal, beefy and brilliant 12.

A slightly fresher direction with this EP - No, We're Not A Couple is a funked up rolling thing with jungle subs, dubby hats and percussion, shifting textures and film score strings.
Cortisol is a stressful warehouse jam in 7/8, filtered every which way then taken to church. Pacy but doesn't really sound it.
White Mice is an afterhours, dubbed-out, drum machine samba workout for smoky basements. Slow but doesn't really sound it. Hope you enjoy em! Respect, Mosca

James Dymond - Odyssey
Since making his debut on ArmadaÉs Aropa label, dance land embraced the sound of James Dymond. The UK producer is on for another round of crowd pleasing, this time with the mesmerizing ÈOdysseyÉ.
Honoring the classic sound of trance, James makes his productions shine out with a strong build-up, emotional break and sturdy pay-off.

Federico Leocata is an italian audio-visual artist who has exhibited in Athens, Thessaloniki and Catania. Later expanding his art into the field of sound based analysis of the human psyche.

First discovered by Heinrich Mueller (Dopplereffekt, Drexciya), Federico released his first EP in 2010 for the Belgian imprint WeMè Records, attracting further interest from labels like Frustrated Funk and Last Known Trajectory.

"YPIN and Osynlig Fetma's Grafiti Tape #3 was a favourite listen of 2015. A funny, composed and truly odd mixtape. This is the same thing (post Cher "Believe" cover Top 10 success)...Half narrated by YPIN, abrupt interludes of answerphone message paranoias jump in and out the mixtape which is a balance beam of bizarro acid sketches, dying gear memorials and outright tweaked club bangers. The tape is sold with a slightly different tracklist (there's more) than the digital in this situation so make your decision and/or keep your eyes peeled to nodata for the insta-rip (bastardos). CHEERS ARVID, GOOD BYE.

After a strong first release Contort Yourself returns with "Events at the Fatal Party" which comes over more as a description than a title, brimming with a bubbling sense of tension and fear. Hamburg duo Fallbeil kick things off in impressive style with a crunchy acid monster which twists and turns followed by two killer proto-techno cuts from legendary French industrial band Die Form from their 1985 tape Hurt. Here we find ourselves in a unsettling scenario with metallic voices scowling over clanging machines and guitar feedback in an unhinged way. The mysterious Slugbug (L.I.E.S./Russian Torrent Versions) starts the flip with "GOBACK", a creeping acidic beast moving unstoppably forward as a reverberating voice ripples throughout. Any calm is then shattered by IBM a.k.a. Jamal Moss whose remix of Die Form hammers home a tough seven minutes of mangled synths, bubbling acid and thundering drums. A highly recommended, intense journey.

Berlin based label Vortex Traks is brought to life with the release of their first EP. Mesak kicks things off with high energy electro funk which is followed by a flight across the galaxy piloted by Jeremiah R. Flipside goes deeper, with Matti Turunen delivering a dubby acid flavored electro cut. Automatic Tasty finishes things off with a magnificent track featuring an addictive bassline and some very emotive chords.

ALSO - Appleblim and Second Storey return to R&S with the third installment in their EP trilogy.
'Raves' opens up proceedings with an irresistibly shuffling drumtrack, scything lead lines and off-kilter bass, while on the flip 'Blyford Bass' aiming directly at the dancefloor, turns up the wobble, dizzying perc patterns and gnarled subs to twist up speaker cones. 'PGs' winds things up in a more intimate fashion, with plangent pads and squalling feedback set against laid back drum pulses.
These three ALSO EP's will soon be compiled into a digital album which has already been given the 'Album Of The Month' accolade in DJ Magazine.

Liam Blackburn's transformative 'Night Of Visions' LP as Ancestral Voices forged a bold new sonic identity for an influential figure on the electronic music scene. From his groundbreaking work as Indigo and onto the success of Akkord's hybrid electronic melting pot (with Synkro), the quest for forward movement is intrinsic to everything Liam produces. To further celebrate the 'Night Of Visions' LP release, we asked some of our favourite producers to reconstruct some of 'Night Of Visions' highlights in their own style.

Each remixer chose their own track from 'Night Of Visions' to work with. The first name on our remix list was Swedish producer and Northern Electronics label head - Abdulla Rashim. Choosing 'Invocations', his remix focuses on the hypnotic power of the original, turning the tune into a golden loop with subtle kick drum stabs, sweeping percussion and a dangling tension that hangs through the entire 7.33 minutes. ASC & Sam KDC chose 'Feathered Serpent' and using just touches of the original tune have masterfully built an all new backbone that demonstrates clearly the ability of the 'Grey Area' sound to work at 2 different tempo's and weld together with straight techno.

Factory Floor return in 2016 with 25 25, their second album for DFA and the follow up to their hugely acclaimed 2013 self-titled debut. With their music stripped to a mesmerising dance of percussion, fragmented voice and melody, 25 25 captures the next vital stage in the evolution of one of the UK's most restless and exploratory groups.
Following the release of their debut album Factory Floor in 2013, the band - consisting of Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey - slimmed down to a duo. Having already boiled the scorched textures of their early singles down into their debut's hallucinatory club-not-club stomp, they both seized the opportunity to voyage further along the pathway, mixing the album with razor-sharp precision via David Wrench (FKA Twigs, Caribou).
Inspired by playing a growing number of late night club shows, the pair's music gradually evolved into the sound captured on their second album and in their current live incarnation: a stark, ultra-minimalist and eerily soulful dancefloor pulse, yet one that still bears Factory Floor's unmistakable hallmarks of hypnotic repetition and jagged, punkish intensity.

THE ASSISTENZ is the culmination of a four year creative hot streak as vivid as any part of CRISTAN VOGEL's long career. The trio of dance oor-oriented records formed by 2012's The Inertials, 2014's Polyphonic Beings and now THE ASSISTENZ are sensual pleasures rst and foremost: a lifetime of study of frequencies and rhythms on the frontline of the world's clubs has been put into the creation of sounds that interface with the nervous system and emotional re- sponses with extraordinary immediacy. But there's much more too: together with the more ab- stracted album Eselsbru¨cke, these form an enticing sonic narrative, encoded themes running through them, each part revealing more about the whole. THE ASSISTENZ, then, is many things: a personal document, a tribute to Copenhagen where it was recorded and after whose famous cemetery it is named - but also the nal piece in this bigger puzzle, which unlocks untold secrets from the previous three records.

There's a deeper history, of course. CRISTIAN's productions going back to the start of the 1990s have woven their way into the fabric of underground culture. His own recent remasters of his early albums, and the Sub Rosa Classics 1993-1998 collections have shown just how potent his early work remains. But his new work exists in a very different world to those past works, and is far removed from the recent electronic generations who he has in uenced too. In fact, as you listen to THE ASSISTENZ, you realise that there's no point making comparisons with other elec- tronic producers at all. While you will certainly hear some of the most fundamental and enduring vectors of underground music - dub, electro, acid, funk - owing through the tracks, even those things are rebuilt from the molecular level, created completely afresh with new, precise, but some- what skewed vision.

CRISTIAN's understanding of music now is spectral. That is to say, with every step through his exploration of sound over the years, he has made more and more detailed analyses of the specif- ic frequencies that make up speci c sounds and produce speci c effects on the human mind and body. And as a result, his own sound synthesis - increasingly done via the Kyma programming platform - is more and more able to reach beyond the 'synthetic' and impact in uncanny and wonderful ways. The most obvious sense of this is the way his sounds touch on the human voice: not just in the chattering, shimmering, singing tones of THE ASSISTENZ's ghostly centrepiece 'Barefoot Agnete', in the alien radio signals of 'The Merman's Dream' or even in the subliminal 'aaah's hiding in the background of the noisy 'Vessels', but in the way any sound, anywhere in any track can sound peculiarly vocal, heard from the right angle.

And it's not just the boundary between human and non-human, or that between acoustic and synthetic, that get blurred to the point of non-existence. CRISTAN's creative methodology now is all about leaving you so uncertain about where anything came from, or what scale the sounds are operating on, that you have no choice but to let go of preconceptions and standardised criti- cal faculties and go with it. Sometimes that can take you to places where darkness and physical- ity close in on you as on 'Vessels' or 'Telemorphosis', or into haunted spaces on the edge of the void like those of 'Snowcrunch' and 'Barefoot Agnete', but even in those, there is euphoria. And in the voluptuousness of 'Hold' or the body-rocking funk of 'Cubic Haze', all the abstraction is grounded in the sheer pleasure of your own bodily responses to the sound.

So many of the science ction dreams of the 1990s are now (virtual) reality. We live in a time when social networks consciously manipulate our emotions, where data is money, where ma- chines learn, where images can't be trusted, and where the synthetic can feel more real than real. Over some 25 years, CRISTIAN's experiments have traced much of this weirdness and evolved with it, and his understanding of synthesis and algorithmic processes to create structure makes him one of the most important composers working today. But THE ASSISTENZ doesn't just ex- periment with the interfaces between mind, body and machine: it expresses those relationships in ways that are beautiful, troubling, moving and scary, and which even make you want to dance. Together with the preceding three albums it enacts a glorious, endlessly-explorable mapping of just what electronic music can do.

Saturn And The Sun's second album Focus On The Centre Of Your Skull' is a deep thing zooming in to mess with your mind.
Heavy, psychedelic electronic music that draws fuel from 80's industrial as swell as minimal techno and probably some dub too.
Along the same trajectory as last year's Journey To The Centre of Your Mind LP and the Harsh Realities, Broken Bones and Skull Tones tape, this one is a stoically crushing demonstration of noise and techno minimalism at its purest, most affective, rudely intent on massaging or even masticating your grey matter into unstable states.
The four parts of Focus on the Centre of Your Skull draw on a strong heritage of dub, noise, techno and metal yet could never quite be accused of imitating any of them. Rather they cut thru all fields at once to irrigate their own furrow of mutant, roiling drone which exists in a strange paradox of pulsating momentum and aching stasis, eaten away by caustic FX which bluntly work their way in like parasitic organisms.
Great, visceral stuff.

Immersed in the early days of the 90s midwest rave scene, Bill Converse began DJing at a young age in Lansing, Michigan. Luminaries such as Claude Young, Traxx, and Twonz were key early influences. Since moving to Texas in 1998, he has experimented with analog techniques in varied studio bunkers. Early techno, noise, ambient, tape, and paranormal processing are all part of his uncanny sound palette.

'Meditations/Industry' is Converse's debut vinyl release, collecting material from a cassette release on Obsolete Future. The tracks were recorded to tape with no overdubs in 2012-2013. As the title implies, the album places meditation inside tactile sonic processes. Bill is informed by his surroundings, influenced by scenes of desolation in nature, the sea, the desert, and places of industry, like power stations, old factories, and warehouses. The songs on this full length reveal a sublime influence from Detroit techno, early Chicago house, and Acid.

The album was recorded and mixed by Bill at his home studio in Austin and mastered by Dave Alex. All songs were EQed for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. A custom-made jacket designed by our in-house designer Eloise Leigh incorporates the abstract cobalt glaciers, reminiscent of blueprints, over a dark gray background. Each copy includes a postcard with notes and a photograph of a mountain range that looks like ocean waves.

Joy Orbison and Herron. Three deadly rounds of tense, urgent, atmospheric, body-rocking techno — and something more like hip-hop. Tersely sexual, detailed but scuffed, fierce. That's young Herron on the front, with his mum.

UK techno label Timedance releases its second record of the year courtesy of Lurka,fresh off the back of a collaboration record with label owner Batu last month. It is undoubtedly some of his finest and most experimental work yet.

The A-side Beater brings a meticulous blend of clever sound design and one of the most thunderous kick/snare patterns you'll hear. Seriously tough. Density introduces a sea of rippling arps, set to a back drop of deep sub bass. It is probably Lurka's most melodic and introspective track yet, whilst still keeping his trademark percussion work.

Rhythmic Theory makes his debut for Happy Skull with two of his darkest, otherworldly productions yet.

"Decadance of Delay" is an unflinching sprint into techno-jack territory, all distorted machine rhythms, hallucinatory whispered vocals and hypnotic electronics.

"Endocrine Creeatures" is a dystopian blast of 808 electro built around titanium-clad kicks, snappy snares and rippling acid lines.

NEW is the third full-length album from the young Kyoto based producer Kazumichi Komatsu aka Madegg. Hailing from Kyoto, Kazumichi Komatsu, Madegg is a rising star in the Japanese electronic music scene. Moving freely between dubstep, chillwave, house and noise, part of the fun of listening to Madegg is not knowing what he'll come up with next. He supported the show of Ryoji Ikeda, Arca, Clark, Mount Kimbie, Tim Hecker, The Field, Inga Copeland, Julia Holter, Matthewdavid, Mark Fell (SND) in Japan and played the show SonarSound Tokyo/Osaka 2013 as youngest artist that year. Since he was young, he has always been impressed by the sounds of the synths, electro pop and later on acid house. In the beginning of the 90ies, when the Slovenian electronic scene was still in the making, he was a regular guest in the legendary K4 and Palma in Slovenia. He was taken further into the world in 1998 when he took his first steps behind the turntables and he has been producing music since 2004. Since then, he has had quite a few releases and remixes for different record labels.He has dj gigs with huge names of the electronic scene and in large festivals in Slovenia and became the official Slovenian Hero of the future in 2007 at the Disconautica festival.He spends much of his time in his studio, where his thoughts are converted into notes and melodies, and as he often states, he finally found a style that suits him and always finds a challenge in. What is that style He doesn`t like to be defined by a specific music style, as he prefers and is influenced by many different genres of electronic music.
Alex Long is definitely a name we will hear of in the future!

REWORK: the action of redoing, correcting or rebuilding"; that is the spirit they put in this Ep with those four House music anthems of those consider today as the father figures of this music. Without sampling, replaying all the keyboards and arpeggio, they turned thoses anthems into modern acid and techno vibe. Lo-fi hardcore rave from Moscow Death Disco vs psychotic art punk electro by Le Chocolat Noir!

The Argentinian based NGLY had seemingly appeared out of thin air landing on the Brooklyn based L.I.E.S. label in 2014 with an untitled four track white label ep. On this ep, the unsuspecting track "Speechless Tape" ended up becoming a cult hit with select djs in the scene (I-F, Mick Wills, Intergalactic Gary...) eventually leading to it being voted as Intergalactic FM's #1 track of the year in 2014. On the heels of his successful debut Rudolfo could have stayed the path and produced an easily digestable follow up dance record or two, instead he chose to take his time and reflect. Sitting back in the studio tweaking his live act, recording endlessly, transforming and refining his sound.
In the end we get his debut eight track lp, Cities of Illusion, a record that walks a fine line between many of the original strains of the electronic realm. The elements are all there to be picked apart, to be used, to be abused, thrown against the wall smashed to bits...played in the club or on the late night mix shows, it's magic you heard in the past and crave in the present. To say the music on the lp is one thing or another is an injustice...it pays reverence while at the same time turns a corner; held together by a loose yet cohesive thread. It is a full presentation that is unafraid to challenge or confuse, with no concern for genre imposed limitations.

The first R&B Rec Record is born from the encounter of two artists in the gloomy Baltimore of the beginning of the millennium, after years in which their artistic roads proceeded in a very much parallel manner, without ever physically crossing paths, driven by their passion for analog instrumentation and the desire to find and create new rhythmics and sounds. It is in 2013 the two decide to join their forces to create their own personal vision of techno music and dance music in general.
Resulting in a hot and scratchy Vinyl that combines dark, percussion sounds well known from Detoit Techno, with the sought after rhythmic of breakbeat and Drum and Base, of the British Nineties. Also packed with influences of Acid-House, this record incorporates features of the so influential 80's Punk Era, finally sinking it's roots in the psychedelic currents of the 70's.
The result is a brand new genre which is difficult, if not impossible to define. A unique way of defining Dance Music, in all its aspects, which is identified under the name of Spaceship Surgery Techno.

Tapan are from Belgrade, hosts to Disco not disco and now delivering two slow psychedelic techno bomb's to crimes of the future's letterbox. We first met Nebjosa and the crew when we played at Drug Store in Belgrade for them in early 2014. Upon receiving these we knew they had crimes written all over them. On Volumes we have two very special remixes of an already heavy original starting with Willie Burns taking them into the streets of Manchester in the early 90's and spending a night on at the Hacienda with no thought of the gentrification approaching. Drvcvltvre is the second provider and in true style switches out the lights and a spectre looms over the dancefloor dripping acid on the dancers below. The EP closes with Who's there featuring the brain melting guitars of Vladimir Djordjevic. Quite a debut we think.

Blackmass Plastics is constantly evolving. Mutating sound. Whether destroying dancefloors with hybrid monsters or making two-step(s) ahead of the game bass music that still sounds fresh after more than a decade, Blackmass Plastics defies convention. A producer and DJ long associated with Ugly Funk, this marks his first vinyl release for the label and organisation for which he is an integral component. This doublepack contains a range of shapes and guises, veering towards the kind of open-minded 'no skool' techno dancefloors that Ugly Funk have become well known for in their 18 years of putting on parties.

'Under the Radar' includes the much sought after Newton's Cradle. (released briefly digitally then swiftly deleted. UFU HQ have been inundated with requests to release this track on vinyl ever since). A fat analogue and dysfunctional rave stomp, described by both Jerome Hill and Truss as a 'KILLER' and reviewed in The Wire magazine - "Newton's Cradle.. a whole junkyard worth of clutter crudely popping and locking, everything shaking as if in a Roobarb and Custard cartoon".

This release also throws some light on his industrious studio experiments from the last few years. Twitchpitch and Lololp are among the first of the new mutant experiments to escape the Lab - on promo and derailing dancefloors everywhere DJs play them. Arresting, not easy to describe, these trax are precisely identified; infectious twisted brainworm loops brought alive by DIY noise box processing. Where Grime and Punk seem to meet at speed. Head on.

Also included is the brilliantly named HR Giger Counter - a stripped down UK Bass rattler for the Nuclear Waste generation, totally unique, you haven't heard anything like this before; whilst Doomatron and Harmonic Minor Chasm both give a knowing nod to The Mover and PCP, touching base with the place where, for Blackmass Plastics, it all began...

Limited to 150 - be fast to secure your copy! - no repress. Lower Parts is a Greek label involved in music, fashion, art and multimedia projects and it has been since 2013. After starting by showcasing lots of local talent, next up on the label is international talent Andreas Gehm aka Elec Pt1, who gets remixed by Damcase and Anoplois. German Andreas is an acid and techno innovator who has released on Mathematics and Chiwax and here comes correct with two great new cuts.

First up, Universe is a busy, mind altering track with cold, serene chords front and centre and manic synths gurgling about in the background. Funky and weird, abstract but colourful, it's a truly fresh track that will make for plenty of WTF moments on the 'floor. 'I Don't Care' is a more traditional deep acid cut, but still the textures and hooks are odd and occult, standing the track apart from the crowd. The acid is increasingly energetic throughout and manages to sound both clean and crisp and dirty and naughty at the same time.

Remixing 'Universe', Anopolis are a collective of four Thessaloniki based producers who recently released a well received debut album. Their version of the track is all reflective surfaces and sprightly drums with plenty of groove electro overtones tied up within. Live specialist and hardware man Damcase is a greek guy currently living and working as a sound engineer at Roodkapje Rotterdam. His remix of 'I Don't Care' is deep and bubbly, littered with sci-fi signifiers and grows increasingly untuned throughout.

This is an inventive package from the Greek label that suggest they are well worth keeping an eye on.

Meandyou returns with their fifth instalment, this time presenting the first solo EP by Matthew Mullane, aka Fabric, the Edition Mego and Spectrum Spool affiliate, and Meandyou mainstay.

Fabric's 'Curiosity Model EP' delivers more of the American producer's dubbed out and immersive electronics, in addition to a development towards the dance floor with the inclusion of 4/4 drum signatures.

The second release on the M>O>S record label could have been part of Hollands rich techno-history, if released when the tracks where made. Dating back as early as 1993, these two tracks come straight out of a plastic bag full of SA90 tapes in Ross154s bathroom (thats where he plays his music LOUD) and a cardboard box filled with cassettes rediscovered while moving Aroy Dee into his way too expensive spacious loft in the historical centre of Amsterdam.

Anyway, it all fell into place on a Christmas-diner last year at NWAQ-headquarters where these gems hit the speakers throwing Peel into a manic fit and Aroy jump out the front door puking his guts out in a format which would have made the Pizza Hut sue for copyright reasons. Fortunately, this wasnt about the music but about the chef, and all was forgiven in the end. It took some effort to polish these tracks so they could be released (I dont think Dexter will talk to us ever again) but here they are, bright and shiny!

Till my heart stops is probably the older of the two, and has survived the humid environment of the mystical washing facilities rather well. I guess he likes to shower long, but never too long. Kaoz is a small part of the now infamous My old piano sessions at the hangout of Haarlem DJ-collective Kaoz Connection, which where heavily inspired by KLF, The Orb and J-J-J-jack fever. Named after the always-present Diana Ross evergreen My old piano on 33rpm these sets they were a pretty mad mix of live electronics and odd tunes, and always ended in either a neighbourhood riot or a civilized police-request. Unfortunately most of these sets are lost forever, but somehow someone managed to press record while the 154 was doing some serious knob twisting.

Factory Floor return in 2016 with 25 25, their second album for DFA and the follow up to their hugely acclaimed 2013 self-titled debut. With their music stripped to a mesmerising dance of percussion, fragmented voice and melody, 25 25 captures the next vital stage in the evolution of one of the UK's most restless and exploratory groups.
Following the release of their debut album Factory Floor in 2013, the band - consisting of Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey - slimmed down to a duo. Having already boiled the scorched textures of their early singles down into their debut's hallucinatory club-not-club stomp, they both seized the opportunity to voyage further along the pathway, mixing the album with razor-sharp precision via David Wrench (FKA Twigs, Caribou).
Inspired by playing a growing number of late night club shows, the pair's music gradually evolved into the sound captured on their second album and in their current live incarnation: a stark, ultra-minimalist and eerily soulful dancefloor pulse, yet one that still bears Factory Floor's unmistakable hallmarks of hypnotic repetition and jagged, punkish intensity.

LORD TUSK makes his vinyl debut with 'The Natural Partnership EP' the first in a series of releases on the newly minted LEVELS imprint.

A veteran of London's underground as a selector, Lord Tusk's influences run deep: electro, hip-hop, old jack swing, film scores, p-funk, roots & culture and dub. A devotee of sound system culture and martial arts, both are reflected in his approach to music making which is free of restrictions.

There are no specific tempos, genre limitations or fixed methods he works by. With Lord Tusk it is all about sensation, emotion, stimulation and inspiration from the sounds, instruments and effects.

These are raw sounds for the big speakers, with early support from Benji B (Radio One), Lakuti and Tama Sumo (Panorama Bar).

Following the release of 2015's Animistas album on Mindtours, Steevio returns with the fourth and final volume in the Modular Techno series after starting the project in 2012.
Initially conceived as he moved his studio practice towards a purely outboard, analogue, modular synthesiser set up, the Modular Techno series has charted the development of Steevio's exploration of this working practice both on record and on stage. The work involved in live appearances across the UK and Europe over the past four years have fed into the creative process, with rehearsals for sets often yielding the material that has ended up on vinyl.
Volume 4 is arguably the darkest instalment in the series to date, dealing in a strict economy of minimalist rhythms and off-key melodic touches while still easily identified as the unmistakable tones and distinctive grooves of Steevio. In the grand tradition of techno as visionary music, the dystopian tone that lingers throughout Modular Techno Vol 4 points to a future of uncertainty, but this is far from nihilistic music; always within the darkness remains a glimmer of hope.

Contra Communem Opinionem shortly CCO, own name Florin Büchel is the pure acid lover from Zürich. He has debuted on Mathematics records in 2008 and since then he has been quite active with several releases on Lux Records and few other brands. There is a strong analogue character in his music based on 808 or 707 beats seasoned with melancholic pads, melodies and already mentioned acid lines. He is also involved in Savage Ground project formed by him and Daniel Cosmo. This is 'Space Race' from melodic electro through overdrive madness to drone beats. It comes with remix from man behind Endless Illusion, Layup.

A year after his debut album "Viaggi", Amsterdam based italian Marco Antonio Spaventi is back with another fine full length statement. Entitled "Isola Sommersa" and landing on M>O>S Recordings, it follows up after many great EPs on the label over the last five years.
Spaventi has a passion for old school house but always brings it up to date. Using hardware tools like a natural extension of his body, he cooks up rugged grooves, nostalgic moods and smoky atmospheres that cocoon you in sound of its own. As well as releasing on other labels like Slow Motion, Secretsundaze, Pizzico Records and Cos_Mos, he is also an acclaimed production wizard and runs his own professional studio.
Long the way here, Spaventi dips his toes into various waters with equal success. There are spaced out and invitingly warm grooves such as the rubbery 'Tape Noodles', blissful ambient interludes like 'Undisclosed' and serene synth passages filled with retro future beauty such as the closer 'Titanic Moments.' Cuts like 'Simple Mind' prove this artist can conjure up genuine feelings of internal reflection as well as raw physical drum lines, and 'Best Regards' is a tantalisingly go slow bit of cosmic house that erupts into a fluid acid track.
Though Chicago and Detroit are obvious reference points, Spaventi always develops his own ideas with a refreshing vibe. It makes for an album that is house at its heart, but also one that is ambitious, absorbing and widescreen in the way it is executed.

MRT release number four is a relentlessly loud outcry. Bruno Belluomini delivered three overwhelming techno pieces that dive into rough, violent, dirty waters.
The EP is fast and unforgiving, and if one lets it, it will take one down and never let go. The outcome is clear, as it is well known, we all did terrible things to survive.

The Bunker New York is proud to announce the second EP from Mehmet Irdel, also known as Løt.te (pronounced Loat-tey), following his debut release on our label in 2014.
Løt.te's 'History of Discipline' EP features two distinct moods and detailed, industrial-inspired sound design with a firm focus on the dancefloor.

"When I discovered the heavy, dark techno coming out of the U.K. and Japan in the '90s and '00s, like Regis, Surgeon, Female, and Takaaki Itoh, it was a revelation," Irdel says. "Until then, I hadn't realized that techno could reference the grittiness and physicality of industrial music and make it work so well, and feel natural on the dancefloor." These muscular, upbeat techno artists are the perfect reference point for Løt.te's music, but Irdel takes his work one step further, featuring an emotional complexity that many other producers lack. "I'm interested in techno that feels both masculine and feminine at the same time," says Irdel. "These days, most techno feels either very intricate and clean, or very noisy and macho. What interests me is finding an in-between."

True to its name, "History of Discipline" is the darker track here. Built on a foundation of heavy, swinging kick drums and shuffling hi-hats, the track builds to an enormous climax before winding down into a rattle of metallic percussion. "A Mutable Constant" is more ambiguous, featuring a rubbery bassline and steadily-building background percussion - until a moody, longing synthesizer pad begins to take center stage. "I don't honestly know where the emotion in 'A Mutable Constant' came from. That wasn't the plan when I started working on it," recalls Irdel, "but I incorporate a mix of analog synths into my productions, like the Korg MS-20 or Doepfer Dark Energy, and their sounds sometimes surprise me. My production process begins and ends with a computer, but I love being able to have that '90s analog sound' in my work. I'm very conscious of not having any 'overly digital' sounds in my tracks."

Løt.te's latest EP embodies the spirit of techno while simultaneously pushing its sound forward. "Techno, for me, is an experiment in human perception. A way to find the fringes of perception in rhythm, melody, and emotion, to push all the way to the edge, to find the breaking point. I'm trying to push techno's boundaries without ever losing sight of 'what makes techno techno': its restraint and groove."

Nick Klein and Maoupa Mazzocchetti recorded some wild jams while touring together last year for an Unknown Precept label showcase. Combining noisy sounds with live melodic synth riffs as well as a jacking 808, Klein and Mazzocchetti made some harsh left-of-center techno. Nonplus 035 passes the torch to Finnish producer Samuli Kemppi who's built a solid back catalogue over the last 15 years and in that time has also become a pioneer of electronic music in Helsinki.
His radio show Deep Space Helsinki (Alongside Juho) developed into one of the cities most popular club nights and also into his shared record label DSH.

"City Stellar" by Yan Kaylen is our first artist EP release following up to our debut VA album "Setting Forth" released in the fall 2015. Yan Kaylen is an electronic music artist from Paris, inspired by the Berlin techno and London bass-music scenes. His musical universe focuses on a tribal and minimalistic approach for rhythms as well as ambient, atmospheric, industrial and evolving textures. As a member and resident of the Exploration Music crew in Paris he started playing his own productions live in the summer 2013. He has since played in clubs such as Tresor, Concrete, La Machine du Moulin Rouge or Le Batofar, and has shared the stage with established artists such as Sigha, Skudge, Shifted, Clouds, Paula Temple, Objekt, Truncate, Goldie or Positive Centre. He is also part of the cinematic audiovisual project trio Dasein."City Stellar" is a six track, forty minute, journey through an ominous imaginary city. It starts off with the beatless ambient title track "City Stellar" setting the tone for the entire EP. It is followed by the 125 BPM dub techno-meets-dubstep sub heavy "Suspension Of Disbelief", while "Ancients Colony" concludes side A with an introspective tribal beat. "_Field" offers a moment of cautious rest in an imaginary playground with the sound of children playing in the distance. The pace picks up again with the epic "Mirage X84", a broken beat and lush pads filled techno number which then leaves us in the gloomy "Last Quadrant" not far from where we'd arrived in the Stellar City on the intro track.
